Reluctant to review as so many have already found this gem, it soon may be impossible to get a table. Historic, beautiful Easton now has a wonderful brasserie that is great to look at and even better to taste. Best of all, it is moderately priced. Raw bar, wood fire grill. Full bar with fun specialty drinks. Our meal of steak frites and lamb chops was wonderful - perfectly cooked - and staff was attentive and knowledgable. Amazing for just being open for two weeks. Hope they can keep this up.

I have had several very good meals at the Brasserie but the last two visits were just not up to par. I hope this not a trend as we enjoy having a drink outside during the warmer months.

Every time we head out to OC, we make a point to stop into Easton and visit Brasseri Brightwell! They have a solid beer selection, great happy hours and we just can't get enough of the lamb sliders. We're also big fans of the mussels, crab bisque, and the Croque-Madame and Butchers Steak sandwiches, not to mention whatever's on special (always fresh, always tasty). I love the open feel to the space as well, including the open kitchen and wood fire grill. We'll be back soon, Chef!

My friends and I were in town for a hunting trip. Randomly ended up at this place Saturday night, which was a Halloween party. Food was great -- good, solid fare with a good wine list. Price point was right. Space is very unique -- feels like a New York-style brasserie (e.g., Pastis or Balthazar). Good times. Will return next year.

Great place, great food, great service. We each ordered soup and steaks. The soups were great, my wife had the butternut squash and curry soup and I had the crab bisque. The steak taste was great and they were rightly cooked. I had a rare New York strip steak with french fries and my wife had the medium rare Bistro filet with french fries. We also had a great bottle of pinot noir. The waiter was very nice. The only problem was the filet, it was tougher than my New York strip. We asked the waiter before ordering and he did not mention that it would be that tough. My wife was not able to eat it because it was too tough, she wears a partial denture... well now we know how tough it is. The french fries were great. We will go back when we have the opportunity.

This place has really gone down the hill. The menu was quite limited and dull. They need to rethink their offerings and hope that the clientel doesn't give up on them before they revamp. A big disappointment.

I'm updated my prior review to account for the excellent meals I've had here since the first time. They definitely do some things better than others, but overall the food is excellent and the service is impeccable. It can get a bit loud at busy times because there is really just one room that's a converted garage. But not such a big deal. 4 stars instead of 5 because they inexplicably replaced the delicious cream sauce on their bread pudding with a disgusting chocolate sauce. Everyone I talk to (including the servers) hates it, but I suppose it must sell well because they are still doing it. Oh well.

Update: Went back to this resto with my spouse and family. This time we were seated right away. To our amazing luck, we had the exact same cheery, wonderful waitress as last time. Everyone loved their meal choices - 3 of us ordered the mussels and they were cooked to perfection. Three at the table also ordered a specialty cocktail that was mixed extremely well and not watered down. All the other orders did not fail to deliver. What really made the evening was the customer service. After dinner was finished, I became THAT patron....the annoying patron who absent-mindedly walks off with someone else's coat. Yes, you may shudder. Well, I received a call once I arrived back home in VA (i.e., very far away) and they were as nice as punch despite it clearly being my error for not taking time to examine the coat closer. In any event, the coats were shipped back to their owners within 4 days and the restaurant even gave me a gift certificate, refusing to allow me to proclaim culpability. Talk about making the customer feel appreciated. Anyway, we'll be back. A lot.

Nice gastropub with a great menu and cozy atmosphere. Food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and the beer was good. The menu has a lot of options that can meet different palates and price ranges; you can have a fancy sit down multi-course meal or a filling and tasty dinner for $15. The portions on everything are very large, so you will not walk away hungry. We had dinner on a weekend evening and the restaurant was full but not packed. We had the following: Starters Market salad: generous portion, the dressing was light (which I love), but there was a bit too much cheese for my taste. Lyonnaise salad: again, generous portion, light on the dressing French onion soup: had crusty bread instead of a crouton, and the cheese nice and bubbly but not overpowering; good flavor, not too salty, not too heavy but definitely filling. Entree Pork Chop: came overcooked, had to send it back which took an age. The waiter offered to bring me any other small plate or salad on the menu while I waited, free of charge. When it came, it was juicy and delicious, and a HUGE portion. The herb butter they serve with it was delicious but unnecessary. Trout: the fish took up the entire (large) plate. Perfectly cooked and tender. Scallops: another gigantic portion of 9 scallops, perfectly seasoned and cooked Fries: come with every meal. Probably the best fries I've ever had. Dessert Bread pudding was to die for, and comes topped with vanilla ice cream Chocolate and coffee gelato were both fantastic

We were ignored and initially not served. We were told to go to the bar and then the bartender told us to order inside. French fries ordered without salt were laden with salt. Snobby atmosphere. One wait staff was friendly.

Great place, but they didn't seem to know anything about the reservation I made on yelp (via open table). As they were slammed indoors, they offered us a table outdoors which we accepted even though it was quite chilly. They kindly provided a heater and a round of drinks. Always good food, excellent wait staff!!!!!

This is an American/French wood fired grill with an excellent raw bar. Been eating here regularly for over a year. It is a go to place for great food and drinks. Try the Lamb Sliders! Absolutely on point! The French Onion Soup is one of the best I've ever had. The Angry Orchard Mussels with house cured apple bacon lardons is excellent. Full order with frietes is 13.50. You can order 1/2 order no frietes for 7.50! I've seen negative reviews about service. Had a problem once, never again. Two of my favorite bartenders, Theresa and Dell always get my cocktails right. A favorite place in Easton for me.

We were visiting from out of town and came in for dinner a week ago. The decor and the ambiance were wonderful as were our cocktails and dinner. The salmon was a good sized portion; it was served with pommes frites and was prepared perfectly. My husband had the pork and it was a very generous serving, and he loved it. My cocktail was so delicious; I can't remember exactly what it's called but it something with "remedy". Our server was warm and friendly and our food came out quickly. We had a wonderful experience start to finish and can't wait to return!

The mussels are delicious. The broth is great and I like that they serve them topped with fries. The bar has a nice selection. I really enjoyed the French chardonnay they serve by the glass, but I wish they had actual wine glasses! The atmosphere is excellent, especially the outdoor seating and outdoor bar. Overall, the dishes have the potential to be very tasty, but it is a bit over-priced and they need to work on more efficient and professional service as well as not over salting the dishes!

Huge disappointment today. My salad was not worth the money, had no flavor (the Lyonnaise), looked very unappetizing, all chopped so small it was nearly mush. I asked for vinegar and was given more of the insipid mayonnaise dressing. My husband asked for bread to accompany his salad (the Nicoise, which was fine) and after a long while went in to see what was the holdup. He was told there was no bread ready and they were grilling it. Finally, two cold rolls from a bag appeared, not heated. We had months ago a delicious sandwich, and neither of our previous orders was on the menu anymore. A huge disappointment. Service extremely mediocre too.

We tried it the night it opened; service was good but food just so so. The menu is interesting but a bit on the "gourmet " side we struggled a bit to find something to order. Hopefully they will get better with time.

We were excited when this opened and our first three or four times were good. It started as more of a Belgium style cafe and we always ordered items which were not available in the area (frog legs, escargot, whole grilled fish, duck confit, lyonaisse salad). In the past six months, the place seems to have been moving to the less refined and more of a drinking joint for 20-somethings and loud bands on the weekends. Draft beer selection has improved since the beginning. Last visit was overpriced for what you get. My wife got the grilled mahi special which was a 3 oz piece of fish with 10 roasted brussel sprouts for $26. You could get the same in a sandwich at a chain restuarant for $12. My steak was overly salted, along with the fries. I'm always disappointed when a new restaurant starts off well and looses its luster for whatever reason. I would probably recommend this for lunch on a nice day but perhaps not so much for dinner anymore.

Went for lunch with my daughter. Was expecting to be thrilled with my lunch because of all the rave reviews my friends were giving me. Well maybe they aren't my friends because we were quite disappointed. My daughter got a hamburger but said it was nothing special. I forget what sandwich I ordered because it was about two months ago that we went there. I do remember that I was not impressed. I won't go back.

We have had lunch more than a dozen times at Brasserie Brightwell. This place has a very pleasant inside bar, a large, airy dinning area decorated like a typical parisian bistro, as well as an outside patio. The service has always been polite, and attentive. I agree with some disgruntled reviewers that the food is sometimes not up to par (ocassional soggy french fries), and the options are limited. Nevertheless, this place does not pretend to be a fine dinning establishment, and it is a wonderfull addition to the choices in Easton. We have found the salads to be true to the French style, with originality, and good vinaigrette dressing. The frequent use of watercress is most welcome. The lamb slidders with Sauce Gribiche, the fried oyster sandwich, and the hanger steak are always well executed. They have an excellent selection of wine and beer. For $7.00 you can get a sampler with four small pours of draft beers. If you are a francophobe, look elsewhere.

We have been there four times. Each time we have thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. We have tried the Red snapper speical, porkchops, half chicken, mussels, escargot and the 5 appetizers for $25 on Sundays. Everything has been delicious. The service is great. Expect to pay a little more, we definitely be a regular

My family and I went to Brasserie for lunch today. The restaurant looks great. Clean, bright, welcoming. The staff was professional and attentive. I had the salmon sandwich with white bean soup. It was great and the perfect lunch portion. My mother and sister each had crab cakes. They also enjoyed their meals. Our mimosas were also good.

Like others who have come to the Brasserie, I have mixed feelings. The food is solid, the waitstaff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun; however, the bar is small and can be a bit "clique-y" (one male bartender in particular - I can totally see the scenario described by Scott M. playing out in my head), which is not necessarily good for a tourist town. Happy hour is offered every day, and there are some nice specials (a few small plates, craft beer discounts). Worth a try, especially in the warmer months when patio seating is available.

We moved to Easton recently, and loved the ambiance of BB as we drove by. We decided to stop in and we absolutely loved it! Since then, we have been there for lunch and dinner at least 8 more times. Each and every time it has been superb! My favorite menu item would be the Lamb Sliders...soooo dee-lish! Additionally, the service is always great! If you've never been, I highly recommend you try it. You won't be disappointed!

Delightful bistro with a French flair. I can't provide a review of a full meal. But the wife and stopped in on a hot afternoon for a beverage and a snack. Nice draught and bottle beer selection. I opted for a Devils Backbone Vienna Lager and the wife had a rum Baybreeze. What inspired me to write the review was the Classic Mussels. Out of this world delicious. Tender mussels bathed in a Dijon cream sauce and topped with seasoned pomme frites. That's right, piled atop the mussels. Unique and delicious. It was accompanied with a seasoned mayo dipping sauce. Was the best thing I've all week. Don't miss them.

I love this place. I have been here about 5 times now and haven't had anything that wasn't well cooked, and I have always had great service. I have tried the lyonnaise salad (poached egg and bacon, awesome), duck confit (crispy skin, awesomeness), tuna crudo (super high grade tuna, awesomer), grilled oysters (fennel and parmesan cream, awesomerer), and mussels (almost awesomest). The fries there are the some of the best I have had anywhere. I am a fry snob/fan and these rank up there with the best (awesomest). Great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. If I lived in Easton I would be here every week. They did add a kids menu as well.

VERY impressed with this place! The good reviews proved to be warranted! My friend and I went here last night (4th of July) on our second night in Easton. We both wished we had discovered it on the first night, and avoided our first dining experience in town. We were seated right away, and the dining room had a welcoming vibe. We split a delicious bottle of Rose, perfectly chilled and we split 2 appetizers -the vegetable spring rolls with chili sauce (which was ok, not amazing) and the blue cheese salad, which we both loved!! I ordered the 16 oz pork chop, and our server made sure to tell me that because of the large size of the chop, it could be about 30 minutes until it arrived. That was fine with us (we weren't going anywhere), and I was impressed with the level of service. I ordered the seasonal grilled corn on the cob as my side (DELICIOUS with cheese crumbles and a spicy aoli sauce drizzled on it) and the pork chop was perfect!! For dessert, I ordered the chocolate mousse, and it was perfection. We both agreed that the bill was reasonable, considering the high quality of the food. After dinner, we walked back into town looking for a place to have a drink. Nothing looked appealing in town and most places were closing up, so we went back to Brasserie Brightwell and sat outside on the deck bar and enjoyed the live music that was playing. Definitely highly recommended!!

I stopped in tonight for dinner with my daughter, I had been wanting to try this place for a while and had the opportunity to do so tonight. We ordered raw oysters, a classic Caesar salad, lettuce wraps and two iced teas. The oysters were good and fresh although some were not particularly well shucked, is it really that difficult to separate the oyster from the shell rather than having the diner shred the oyster trying to separate it at the table with no knife? We waited for our waitress to do a backcheck but gave up on it happening any time soon so we made do with separating them with a butter knife. Good times. The classic Caesar was beautifully constructed, fresh, well presented, and dressed with a tasteless dressing. Its a shame because it would have been damn near perfect otherwise. I was starving and ate most of it, but there was just no flavor. They did put real anchovies on the salad which was awesome - if they could just address the seasoning, it would be perfection and worth a trip back. I HATED the lettuce wraps. I mean hated them. First off, the menu says NOTHING about them being served open face. They are messy to eat and if you are wearing nice clothes, you'll want to avoid these. Not actually wrapping them takes them from finger food to pain in the rear. The chicken was under seasoned so that combined with the lettuce and rice noodles overpowered the spicy carrots and sauce. Much like the salad, they were bland with the added feature of being messy to eat. Avoid these, they are terrible. Our waitress was a bit inattentive taking forever to do a backcheck and being completely unimpressed with my complaint about the lettuce wraps. I asked my 13 year old daughter what she thought - her opinion was the same as mine, its simply not worth another visit.

We came this evening for dinner at 7:00. Sat outside and regretted our decision. The gnats were out in full force. We asked a young man if there was a fan available that might create a breeze to disperse the bugs. He graciously turned a large oscillating fan that had been positioned toward the bar at our tAble. It did provide some relief, until another employee turned it back toward the bartender. I guess the bartender's comfort is more important than the clientele. BTW the filet mignon was very tough.

Execution is everything. The flavor in the food is fine but everything was off. We did not get our bread; kitchen super slow; our mussels were sandy and the sauce were filled with broken mussel shells (someone could break a teeth!); French fries atop mussels may look nice but end up getting soggy; table was not cleared; could not locate waitress to order extra dish; braised green was bland; and so forth. When we told the waitress re sandiness, we got nothing (blank face, no apologies, no offer to replace with another dish). Not acceptable! Never coming back!

Bar service was edgy and incompetent. Asked for a taste of beer on draft and was given a large plastic cup. When asked for a small glass rather than plastic, attitude was given and a coarse rebuttal ensued. One would think that those businesses working on/around the Chesapeake Bay would consider living/thinking a bit more green and environmental but this small server appeared to be 'too busy' as she stated. We did not have any food or drink after this 'cold fish' experience. Too bad, went there for live music but was turned off by the lack of attention and consideration.

I now have a favorite restaurant in Easton, and this is it. I actually said "I am in food heaven" while our dinner was in progress, and I can't count the number of times we said "this is sooo delicious" or "no we're still working on that...can we get some more bread?" We had spicy red curry mussels, cucumber gazpacho, zucchini puree soup (it was the soup du jour), beet salad, grilled oysters, burgers and pommes frites, the Daily Braise, which was pork belly, and the pork chop, which was the largest cut of meat I've ever had served in a restaurant. Dessert was a trifecta of creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious, not one regret or complaint about anything. A key point I want to make his how accommodating their menu is for all types of food styles. Have a steak and potatoes kind of person in your party looking to drink a cold beer? Or someone who wants duck confit with a French 77? Both are covered, with many other delicious seafood, vegetarian, and pork lovers' options. It's a beautiful decor inside, bringing vintage French art and rustic charm together. Service was top notch. I will definitely come back when in Easton again.

We had lunch here on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015. We weren't sure what to expect since I saw mixed reviews but we were really pleasantly surprised. We ate on the patio which has some street noise but quite pleasant. I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and my companion had the poached salmon salad. The Caesar was a REAL Caesar, with anchovies. I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. The dressing had some bite. The chicken was marinated before grilling and had a rich flavor and very tender. The salmon salad was very good as well. For dessert my companion had the bread pudding that came with ice cream. It was a big portion and very good. I had the creme brulee, served in a small cup. Good and just enough. The coffee was excellent. I also had a Plymouth gin dry martini straight up with a twist of lemon. It was delicious. As we were leaving I stopped in the bar to give a separate tip to the bartender. Really a nice place and very convenient, just a short distance from route 50.

I was visiting my parents over the July 4th holiday and stopped in for a couple of drinks after being on the water. Decent enough place to grab a beer and an appetizer, which I disclose is all I have ever done here, but yesterday, I was at the inside bar having a drink, when the male bartender came by declaring, "it is a fudge fest out there." I suspected I knew what he meant, and when I left and walked passed three African Americans at the bar, it was confirmed. If they get rid of the ignorant bartender, I might recommend the place.

The food here is fine but nothing great. The menu hasn't changed much in at least 3-4 years. My biggest complaint is that last time we were dining, after spending over $200, we were asked to leave our table no more than 10-15 minutes after our bill had been paid. Yes, it was a busy Saturday night, but I was shocked to so quickly be asked to leave. We were invited to the bar as an afterthought, but the bar is tiny and by then I just wanted to leave. I really want to like this place but it just falls short every time. Change the menu, make the food exceptional, and learn French manners. We should not have been asked to leave, or at least invited to the bar first instead of after we had already gathered our things.

We stopped in on our way home from the beach because it had a cute outdoor patio. Only problem was you had to hVe a reservation to sit outside. So we ended up sitting so close to the next table, it was like we were having dinner with them! Yet there were plenty of empty tables. Throughout the meal we were constantly barraged by flies. I tried the Gazpacho but it was strange with powerful spices. The server was great though and took it off the bill without asking. Luckily our main entrees were delivered fast and hot and they were delicious. I had the beet salad with chicken and my mom had a chicken sandwich. The steaks at the table next to us looked great too.

Just had a fantastic dinner here several nights ago. Oysters were awesome, baked clams & escargot are a must have! The smokiness they achieve here from their woodfired oven is so good and noticeably infused into so many of their dishes. The steak frites are dynamite and we love the flat iron cut. No need to spend more, it's tender, flavorful and more like a ny strip. A favorite spot in Easton - do not miss!!

I recommend people to BB whenever the opportunity presents itself. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. The atmosphere is hip and upbeat without being boisterous and overbearing. It's just "fancy" enough that you don't feel overdressed in a dress or a sports coat, but not so fancy that you have to whisper to your companion or feel out of place in a pair of jeans. As far as atmosphere is concerned, it achieves a perfect balance of something-for-everyone. And, again, I cannot say enough good things about the food... This is not a restaurant to miss!

It was a fun bar experience at first, but bartenders at the outdoor bar drink with patrons and seemed to have no sense of when to stop. There was seemingly no manager available at the bar and it was a Saturday night. The "Bouncer" with the blonde beard thinks he is a bouncer at the hottest night club in LA; completely unnecesary things being done to patrons including myself. I'm sure it's great for lunch or dinner in the summertime, but my experience as bar/hangout was horrible. Instead, go to Docs Downtown Bar and Grille or Washington Street Pub right down the street!

Such mixed feelings about my experience here...we came in on a Sunday evening without a reservation. The hostess was kind enough to try to help accommodate our family for dinner so long as we promised we would be finished with our meal by 8pm (as there were others with reservations coming in at that time - okay, I get that and we had plenty of time to have an enjoyable dinner). Once seated, our server seemed sweet enough and was quick to offer us drinks and explain the specials of the day. One of our guests is a vegetarian and had previously visited with us here for lunch. She asked the server if the chef might be able to accommodate her needs and was told "sorry, we can't do that but the beet salad is really good" - (okay, so I understand that not every chef can be expected to make adjustments to the menu)...however, when I ordered a classic burger (nothing special...exactly what was listed on their menu) medium-well(yes, medium-well as most restaurants that serve meat are accustomed to having guests request how they like it prepared), I was informed that I would could only have my burger medium, this is a busy night and the kitchen cannot be expected to keep up with different burger requests...really? I have to say that adding up the request to leave by 8pm, no consideration for hearing our vegetarian guest's needs, and you may only have your burger cooked medium added up to serious disappointment in the policies of this restaurant. The food is superb but I don't know if I can come back if this is their approach to service.

Fries are out of this world and the service is great! Bartenders are knowledgable and helpful. However, I ordered a pork chop and received it cold in the center the first time I ate here. The second time, I had mussels, and I was violently ill about two hours after eating them. Food poisoning for sure. My companion ordered grilled chicken and it was pink in the middle. They have trouble with proper food temperatures.

My lunch was alright, not anything special, just alright. The server was aloof, and they charged for refills on iced tea. Nobody does that anymore!

We were pleased with all the food. The service was just OK, but that was our overall experience with service in Cambridge - just OK. We were a party of 7 seated at a large farm table outside and the chairs are too low for the tall table.

The oysters are great! The rest, not so much. Uh, charging $2 to have mashed potatoes instead of fried? Come on! And why does everything on the menu seem to come with fries? The service was very good, no complaints there. The decor suggests a French brasserie but how many French brasseries are there where can't get you a cup of espresso?

One of my favorite all time restaurants in one of my favorite towns! My partner and I sit at the chef's counter and watch the action around the wood-fired grill and prep area. My go-to's are Lamb sliders, mussels, and whatever specials chef Brendan has. Authentic french food with great house made sauces and condiments!

Reluctant to review as so many have already found this gem, it soon may be impossible to get a table. Historic, beautiful Easton now has a wonderful brasserie that is great to look at and even better to taste. Best of all, it is moderately priced. Raw bar, wood fire grill.

From the mussels/raw bar to the gourmet burgers, spring rolls & craft beer selection, the Brasserie satisfies my friends & I every time.

My wife loved the muscles, i had the fillet... it was just ok. Fries are amazing.
(4)Ruth-Ann L.

I am a local realtor in the area. It's mine and my family's favorite place to eat in Easton. When my clients move to the area, I always recommend this restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious. Sincerely, Laura Anderson

Fantastic food!!! Great outdoor seating and friendly staff. Locally sourced food that has great specials.

(3)Cameron C.
(5)Jane D.
(5)Beverly M.
Just had lunch here, very nice outside seating under the trees. Service was great, waitress had good recommendations for food and drinks. Food wAs tasty, had a nice selection of salads and sandwiches for lunch . We already want to go back to try something different !
(4)John D.

(2)Beth I.
(2)Stevi S.
My lunch was alright, not anything special, just alright. The server was aloof, and they charged for refills on iced tea. Nobody does that anymore!
(3)Janice C.
We were pleased with all the food. The service was just OK, but that was our overall experience with service in Cambridge - just OK. We were a party of 7 seated at a large farm table outside and the chairs are too low for the tall table.
(3)Bill R.
(2)Leighkaren L.
Had a great time there! Bartenders are great and very knowledgeable. The deserts are are amazing!!
(4)Jonathan M.
