Nice place to get a quick, reasonably-priced dinner. They have a variety of foods to chose from. I particularly like their ribs (beef and pork), turkey wings and chicken wings. There sides aren't bad either. The fried turkey wings are my absolute favorite. They sell them in as many pieces as you want. No one else in the area that I know of sells fresh fried turkey wings. There are a few tables to sit and eat. You can also play the lottery, racetrack and keno if you'd like. They sell breakfast that is dynamite as well. It's a great little spot to eat. Just make sure you get there before 8 or they will be closed. Definitely not a late night, after the club or event spot. But it is good

Upon entering Black Rib Eye (stated in my most southern dry voice lol) R&B classics softly play in the background. The restaurant is well visited. While I was there maybe 6 other patrons placed an order. This place is reminiscent of a lot of places back home. The cashier was super friendly. She informed me that this business has been open for 24 years. What an accomplishment! So I've been twice so far and the food is pretty ok. Its' that Moms and Pops kinda cookin, something like what your folks used to cook back in the day before the 'get healthy regime' took flight. So if you're in the mood for a regular sanmich... eggs, bacon, on wheat... this is your kinda place! I must make one more comment--only in an establishment geared toward brown folks would you see a lottery commission machine. LOL. I mean gambling is so real that you can play box or straight while enjoying your meal. This for me is new. :)

I live in the area and have drove past this spot for years...one morning I decided to stop since I saw so many cars and grab a menu. Well I did alot more than grab a menu. I ordered some breakfast as soon as I saw SCRAPPLE on the list..LOVE IT. I will say this, I was hooked....this is my spot on Friday mornings as they don't open early enough for me on work days. The price is good as well. I say it's one of the hidden spots. I've also had the fish, it too was good. There food is not highly seasoned but that's cool. I think they do that as ALOT of the elderly eat and have conversation there...I think it's there lil spot....lol

So across from the wash and fold I spyed a place with a neon breakfast sign. I noticed a lot of cars in the parking lot so I decided to hit the drive through. Worse idea ever. i should have gone inside. They are only able to take and make one drive through order at a time. Anyhoo they have a pretty extensive menu for a take out only place. Ribs, fried turkey wings, beef liver and fried fish just to name a few. Since it was breakfast time I got a few breakfast platters for the gang. So we were able to try the pancakes, home fries, grits, eggs, bacon and turkey sausage. I have to say, this breakfast was pretty tasty. The pancakes were pretty small. What was I really expecting for less than $3 for three pancakes? The homefries left a lot to be desired. I'd would return here if I was in the area but I wouldn't travel for it.

There are better soul food/BBQ places, which is not saying to much, because there is NOT too many good BBQ places in the DC/VA/MD area.Is BLACK AND RIB EYE so awful, you wanna ask for your money back? Nah. Is it so good you HAVE to go out your way to get here? Not even. But, if you happen to be on Penn. Ave/Malboro pike area and do not want "Chicken wings and mumbo sauce"...stop in and try their Honey BBQ wings or Beef Ribs. The Pork Chops/w gravy is also ok. Their breakfast menu is like any other...eggs, pancakes, grits. Nothing special or alluring about this place.

I ordered their fried turkey wings and they were dry and tasteless. Their chicken leaves must to be desired. Their hush puppies were over cooked. However, their spiced shrimp is pretty good.

So if you are in this general area and are looking to grab the best, cheapest, most stick-to-your rib/ exceed-your-expectations breakfast, this is your spot. Call ahead and then pick up your fish and grits and 'taters or sausage sammiches at the drive-thru window:) No frills.
