We really never review fast foo restaurants, simply because many (whether they're good or not) aren't consistent enough to be worthy of the time and effort of an evaluation. But I've visited this particular Roy Rogers twice in my life; once in 2005 and again in October 2014 and I was IMPRESSED to see that the service, quality of food and cleanliness was the same on both visits - GREAT! They clearly take pride in working at this restaurant and it shows in the product they produce! It's sad taht many Roy Rogers restaurants closed down years ago, as they do have a superior product, especially when compared to many of the other, typical fast food restaurants. The roast beef here is fresh from a whole round of beef, not compressed beef parts, like in some other roast beef places. The Fixin's Bar here was nice and clean and filled with all the goodies to make your meal better and they even had a real fireplace in the lobby of the restaurant that you could sit in front of! What's really nice is that you could talk to them in English rather than having to use a number system to place an order!! It would be nice for the management of this particular restaurant to open more just like this one in the DC area!

Chicken strips were a tad dry but, other than that I really enjoyed the meal! I liked the variety of condiments and soda selection. Decent meal for a decent price.

Wait -- NO ONE has reviewed this establishment? SHOCKING! /sarcasm I think this is the Roy Rogers I went to because Cumberland doesn't seem like it would have two of anything, but if I happen to be wrong then oops! because I have no clue what the other one's address would be. Boyfriend and I were in town for a wedding and pretty much everyone was all OMGWTF at the fact that I had never been to Roy Rogers. I had actually never heard of Roy Rogers -- neither the restaurant chain nor the namesake. (I'm sure all of you OMGWTFers will shit your pants when I tell you that I've also never been to Five Guys, White Castle, or Chipotle. Stop judging me!) So anyway, Boyfriend was so OMGWTFed that I apparently just had to have some delicious Roy Rogers meat. Also apparently, the Gold Rush Chicken Sandwich was where it was at. Pictures of the oozing sandwich promised a riotous feast for my tastebuds and I was high with anticipation. When I finally got my uninitiated hands on that warm little package, it was just about time to meet up with some other wedding guests for a jolly old game of softball (like I give a deuce). I didn't want to eat in the car because I just hate eating in a moving vehicle, so I held my sandwich close and waited until we reached the field. Then I sat my ass down on a bench and inhaled the damned thing. And then I sat my ass out of the game because I had just eaten and didn't want to run around so soon after. Verdict: No clue. I was so hungry and ate so fast and so uncomfortably that I enjoyed none of the Gold Rush experience. So why four stars? Well, it's a fast food restaurant, and I like fast food. Except for Taco Bell, and not just because of that stupid chihuahua.

Great little Roy's in Cumberland by the train tracks and under the highway. Atmosphere and decorations are very nice. There's a sun room on the front of the restaurant and a living room space in the back with a gas fireplace. Food is cooked well and meets my expectations (which are high) for Roy Rogers. If you're traveling on I-68, this is a great place to stop for a bite to eat. Convenient to get on and off the highway, but probably not good for big trucks since the parking lot is small.

RECOMMENDED : To be honest, it is very hard to review a fast-food place. That being said there are better franchises than others. I have been coming to this branch for years. There are a couple of things that would make a trip here more enjoyable. LOCATION: First, the location is the best part of this Roy Rogers- especially for those who are traveling through the area. It is immediately off the interstate located with easy access on and off I-68. It is also located near other fast food joints (Wendy's and Taco Bell) so if others in your party want diversity in food, everyone can be accommodated. AMENITIES: The main issue I have always had with this location is that there is NO DRIVE THRU. I cannot speak for other Roys, but that takes away from the experience especially if you are trying to snatch and grab and hit the road. There is a nice Fixins Bar for fresh additions to your sandwiches etc. There is a good deal of seating as well, including a greenhouse area if you are trying to grab some indoor rays while eating. EXPERIENCE: This is a fairly good location. I have had isolated problems with some visits but overall they run a pretty tight ship. There are some tips to remember: If you are visiting or planning to visit during lunch peak hours (11AM-130PM), prepare to wait somewhat. Obviously that is with any food location, but this is frequented by plenty of people who work downtown and in the area. Overall - a B+ grade.

We love our local Roy Rogers. The ONLY thing we don't like is lack of a drive-thru. Food always tastes great. We love the Fixins' Bar! Restaurant is always clean! They still put fresh carnations on the tables too!

Service is beyond slow. I had to wait 10 minutes for a cheeseburger and there were 3 employees behind the counter and only 1 customer ahead of me. On top of that you have to put your own toppings on. The food however, was delicious.
Sorry, Store hours have not been updated. If you are the owner of this restaurants. Please update the store hours.
