The card dip with pretzel bread was fantastic

Great place! Came to western MD to see the leaves change. Had shrimp & scallops wife had black & blue flattened steak. Both were excellent. Had potato skins to start not disappointing at all. The sides were OK and the rolls are just regular bread. Coffee was good

Great food. Tender steak, sautéed crab (a little salty) great food. A little slow service but food was worth the wait. I'm not in Cumberland often but the people there seem to be enjoying themselves. It was a good dinner for my weekend retreat. Thought about going back.

We stopped off for lunch en route from Pittsburgh to Virginia Beach based on Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. I had the Crabcake BLT on toasted Wheat with homemade fries and coleslaw. Between the deliciously chewy thick cut wheat bread and the fantastic bacon, it would have been a great stand alone BLT. The blackened crab cakes were almost entirely shredded crab with very little filler. The homemade fries were great, but it was the clearly homemade, incredibly thick ranch dressing she brought me to go with them that pushed it over the top. My husband had a corned beef Reuben on toasted Rye that he dubbed "excellent." Inside looks a little dated and at noon on a Thursday we were the only people under 50...but that's no reason to miss out on this gem.

Overall, I would say that this establishment is just average. I have been here several times in the past 10 years and have never been impressed by anything that was served to me. It does have a down-home feel, and it seems like this would be a place where everybody knows each other by name. I am a bit of a foodie, so my opinion may be biased.

Terrible Food, Terrible Staff, and I'm pretty sure the owner could care less due to the fact he was drunk and we seen a delivery guy from another place delivering to him!

The restaurant is a clean, well-lit place that sort of reminds one of those places where everybody knows your name. My husband and I were recently on a Monday night. There were a few tables filled with families and friends. There were numerous playing TV's in the room. I'm not sure who was paying any attention to them. We were greeted by the friendly and efficient waitress who did a fine job all evening despite having many tables to deal with. Both of us ordered the crab cakes ($15) and were disappointed. The best thing I can say about the crab cakes is that you don't have to worry about getting any shell mixed in with the crab meat because the cakes were mostly filler. Even then, every once in a while an off-flavor came through--perhaps from the crab's lungs that made its way into the cake. We had french fries and cole slaw and both were excellent as was the most reasonably price wine. However, for $15 per meal, we could have done way better with other items on the menu. Based on the sides we had, I suspect that some of the other entrée's would be equally tasty.....just stay away from the crab cakes.

Visited this place for the second (and last) time on 7/21/14. We had loved it in January but this time it was a nightmare. We ordered the cream of crab soup as an appetizer but it was delivered lukewarm and filmed over 45 minutes later, along with our entrees. Several inquiries to the waitress during the wait had resulted only in assurances that she had put our order in and that they were very busy that night. There was no sign of any managerial presence or guidance. The dining room was half empty, but apparently a large private party had gummed up the works. The food was definitely not worth the wait, and I will not be trying them again,

I am a local who has been wanting to go forever. I brought my family from out of town and we were all pleased with the food. I had some of the best crab soup I've had in town. The server was nice, the place was clean and decorated. Everything was good.

Best beer and home cooking in Cumberland. Free wifi to boot. Brenda and JP Are the best

I really like this place. Good home made food with good prices. It is closed Sunday so take note and they can get pretty busy at times. I like the Cotton Top BBQ.

I've cruised by this place numerous times on my road trips between somewhere and somewhere on the interstate. Today, I wasn't in a huge rush and figured I would finally check it out for lunch. It is quick on and off of the interstate is something I would like to add. I walked in and the place wasn't empty but it wasn't full about 5-6 tables of people and a few folks at the bar. I'm not sure if the amount of patrons here this afternoon was abnormal but the service was lacking but only due to the fact that there was only ONE server working the bar and the dining room. As far as the best beer in Cumberland, if that's the case, than there must be pretty weak choices for beer in Cumberland. The best option I saw on draft was Sam Adams, which is a good beer but everything else wasn't anything special. The decor is also a little off, it is done up like it wants to be an Irish pub, but there really isn't anything all that Irish about it. Ahh they have Guinness on tap, does that count? The menu is sort of all over the place, which for me just made it difficult to choose what to order. But I went with their best seller which was a crab cake sandwich, it was really good. I do have to say that the Sam Adam's I had was the cheapest beer I have had at a pub in a long time $2.85 for a pint of Sam! I would swing by here again for a very leisurely tasty lunch.

4.5/5 Stars to Geatz's! Their "Fifth Generation Ownership" shows. The American Grill fare is absolutely terrific. As a Marylander, I enjoyed the best crab cake sandwich, "The Gorgeous Crab," I've ever had. It was almost 100% pure delicious crab meat unlike many crab dishes that have assorted mixed ingredients... On an occasion for dinner; on the eve of St. Patty's Day, the Delmonico Steak was superb. Finally, I'd only recommend a slice of their Reese's Peanut Butter cake to the serious sweet tooth. It's that rich.

As usual, Yelpers didn't lead me astray. Blackened crab cake on toasted whole wheat?!? Yes, please! Keep in mind I am not a crab cake aficionado growing up in a land locked state, but this was yummy to me. Slaw was tangy and not too creamy. Fries were well seasoned with good side of ranch. I enjoyed it! Service was fantastic. I will tell everyone about it during my visit and may even stop by again this week! Not a beer drinker so can't comment on that.

We were lucky enough to visit Geatz for Dinner last Friday on our way to Deep Creek. A Cumberland treat... Warm greeting and great service -in addition to delicious food! The Alfredo was Yummmmm : )

Nice place, excellent service...but the food was not great. We visited in 7/4 and appreciated the fact that they were open (many places were closed), however, based on the other reviews, the head chef (and his backup) must have had the day off. I had the "recommended" crabcake sandwich, and it wasn't anything like Luis M.'s crabcake (reviewed on 3/17/2013).
