Do NOT go here. After drink orders came out wrong, 20 min later we got our crab lump soup which was way too much ole bay, thick & gelatinous w/next to none crab. Dinner arrived which was equally terrible. The surf and turf burger was on a stale pretzel roll, burger burnt & crab cake clearly out of a freezer. Scallops were chewy, broccoli squishy & dripping in liquid, & I had to spit out my Caesar salad b/c the dressing was oily & off the shelf from a grocery market with parmesan cheese that you find in a pizza restaurant. We had to get our own condiments from other tables (empty...should of been a sign), ask 3x for drinks. After an hour we finally got our last meal which we had to get to go b/c they brought the wrong one. I could keep going but not wasting anymore time on this place. Only got one star b/c it's required for me to post this review.

We had a wonderful lunch here. I should qualify that we were the only customers being that we visited off season, so we had the opportunity to get great service. The food was excellent. I had grilled salmon with a fresh salsa and grilled brussel sprouts. My hubby had a rockfish sandwich. The batter was light and the fish was fresh. Additionally we had hushpuppies and great cups of soup. I loved the funky decor!

Unlike Salty, I think the decor is very tacky and reminds me of some resort restaurant out of the 70's. I have ordered a few food items, burgers and crab balls. Both were very fresh and moderately priced. Tiki bar can be fun depending on when you go. One of the best places to drink outdoors in Crisfield since it's right on the water. There were no smoking signs posted but people clearly smoking at the bar, so if you are a non-smoker and this bothers you go elsewhere! One complaint is they close WAY to early. I think it's 9pm most nights.

There aren't many restaurant choices in Chrisfield so our group chose this one. The Tiki bar is a nice outdoor place with good views. I had the crab cakes and was disappointed. No lumps of crab in them to speak of and the seasoning was so, so. The oysters appetizer was also not the greatest. The oysters was plump and soft, but not much flavor. The beer choices are limited to mostly domestic brands.

SO glad to see this local landmark open again, and just in time for the 2013 season! The staff are clearly professionals at food and hospitality, and the food lives up to the high expectations we all have for this historic waterman's town. The menu is remarkably complete with a full range of seafood and landlubber offerings, as well as several daily specials, all at Eastern Shore bargain prices. The décor, updated extensively two years ago, provides a lively Caribbean charm right here on the Chesapeake. We stopped in for a Friday lunch on only the 5th day since re-opening. Three of us were greeted warmly, served promptly, and treated to a delightfully tasty selection of authentic and fresh Eastern Shore fare. We were started with a basket of melt-in-your mouth exquisite hush puppies... Kudo's to John: These puppies are PERFECTION! The crabcakes are from local catch, and high on meat, with minimal binder, and seasoned just right to bring back memories of summers on the shore. A baked sweet potato was served with pumpkin-pie spiced real butter - HEAVENLY! A delicious shrimp salad sandwich was so stuffed with shrimp that they were falling out of the bun. After sampling everyone else's treats, I had a fresh garden salad topped with flavorful and tender grilled jerk chicken breast, tangy with just the right amount of spice. The unsweetened iced tea was refreshing, and promptly refilled, while the guys enjoyed a cold beer. Three cheers to the team of local entrepreneurs for creating a great Crab House experience that lives up to Crisfield's reputation!

Excellent steamed crabs and cold beer, right by the water.

Crab balls were great, but the crabs were small and they didn't even offer a selection of sizes, in the crab capital of MD. Worse they were pricy too boot. Good beer selection though.

Visited today, June 16.....Fathers Day. We were looking for some steamed crabs of lunch after a boat outing with my husband, daughter and son-inlaw, and two grandboys. We checked inside and were told they had crabs, the "special" was a dozen with corn and hush puppies for $35.00. So, we decided to try it. Only the upstairs was open at about noon when we arrived, so we climbed the steep and long stairs to get to the dining room to be seated. It was clean and the decor was ok with tabletops with artwork of crabs, rockfish, etc. we elected to eat indoors rather than out on the deck as it would be easier to "corral" the little ones. Our drink orders were taken and the server hurried away. After a short wait, the tea and sodas arrived at the table. We placed an order for two dozen crabs with the corn and hush puppies, two kids meals of chicken and a pound of steamed shrimp. As we wrapped up our order my husband asked if the crabs were pretty good, and our server proudly stated that they had just got the crabs in last night.......AND THEY JUST COOKED THEM LAST NIGHT. So I guess that means we were ordering crabs that would be reheated. Great. We were also informed by the server that they had opened the tiki bar on the water "in order to attract a buyer". I guess it never occurred to anyone that serving freshly steamed crabs which would draw regular customers and create a positive cash flow might do a better job of attracting a buyer.....go figure. We waited. And waited. Thirty minutes in a tiny basket of stale homemade potato chips was offered. There were maybe six to ten chips and I swear I got one that was wet and smelled like beer. Great....maybe this would attract us to go to the tiki bar and become potential buyers. We were asked if they should bring the kids meals out "now". Oh, so the kids could eat and be done and ready to go before anyone had picked a reheated crab? No thanks. After sufficient time had elapsed for a trot line to be baited and put in the water and two dozen crabs to be netted and steamed, the food arrived at the table. The reheated crabs had no spice on them. We asked for vinegar and were directed to a bottle of MALT VINEGAR on the table. Just FYI, malt vinegar is for French fries, not crabs. There was a small bowl of hush puppies.....maybe six of them. And TWO ears of corn. I asked if we could get two more ears of corn and I was told that would not be allowed, that only ONE ear of corn came with each dozen crabs. I said I would be happy to PAY a la carte for the extra ears and the server said she "would see what she could do". A request was made for real butter, melted for dipping....instead of that nasty artificial flavored oil in a squeeze bottle, and were told they did not have that, that they ONLY give ONE real butter pat with each ear of corn . She suggested that we somehow dip our crab in the butter pat that came with the corn, since it was "pretty soft". Really??? My family have been crabbing and eating steamed crabs for forty years and I have NEVER seen crab spice for the crabs presented IN A PEPPER SHAKER. We did get two additional ears of corn. At $2.75 an ear. And to be fair, the shrimp were very nice, the French fries were boardwalk style and the server arrived albeit belatedly with a ramekin of melted butter, saying she had found "half a stick" in the refrigerator. That effort was greatly appreciated. This is clearly an operation trying to run on a shoestring and trying to save money by stinting on the traditional condiments. And really, reheating crabs is just nasty. And it ought to be against the law in Crisfield, the self proclaimed "Crab Capital of the World" We will not become returning customers. And of you are looking for good steamed crabs, you should look elsewhere. I don't think it's going to matter much if they attract a buyer or not, the penny pinching is going to drive them flat out of business anyway.
