Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Haven't had much luck with pizza in Columbia, but dang. These guys got it right. Ordered a large pepperoni, mushroom, and onion and a garden salad. Guy got it to my house in just over half an hour. Salad was huge and fresh and simple. Lettuce, tomatoes (it's the middle of winter and the tomatoes were good! Rock!), and a friggin' half pond of cheese! And the pizza was pretty good. Not too much cheese, good sauce, and the mushrooms were fresh and meaty and perfectly cooked. These guys are alright!

Best pizza in Howard County by far!

This was a good pizza, somewhere between a NY style thin crust and the doughier Pizza Hut/Dominos/Papa Johns. The crust edge was fluffy and good, and the sauce and cheese were both excellent (if a bit greasy for most people, personally I like it a bit oily since that usually means lots of flavor in the cheese itself). They have a couple of small tables in the restaurant, but it is not someplace to take more than a couple of people, and certainly not a place to expect table side service, china plates, or actual silverware.

Small sandwiches with average taste. It is also a small, very casual shop with food served on paper plates. However, the service was quick.

Pizza was awful. Inedible.

DO NOT EAT THIS PIZZA! I ordered a pizza from here and could not eat a slice. The sauce and cheese tasted like AMMONIA. I called to speak to the manager and explained that the pizza was not edible and I wanted to bring it back and get a refund. He argued with me and told me I could not get my $18 refunded to me and "too bad". I am FURIOUS at the way I was treated and how horrible this pizza was. This was my first and last time ordering from this establishment.

Picked this place thru yelp reviews. I was looking forward to New York style pizza but instead got a very salty, doughy pizza. I ordered the veggie delight with pepperoni and had it delivered. Delivery was prompt and courteous. But pizza was just too salty and not a crispy crust at all. Overall I was disappointed.

Vennari's is a decent pizza place. If you're not picky about the quality and not expecting it to be like NYC or Chicago, then you'll like it here. The locals seem to like it. One word...greasy! Dab a napkin or 50 before eating.

I saw the great Yelp reviews and decided to try it out, thinking it was a legit local legend. But four words shall suffice: just don't do it. It is horrendously mediocre. Reminded me of Casey's gas station pizza. The only redeeming factor is it is cheap.

Vennaris' pizza is pretty average - perhaps a bit below average. It has a unique tomato-ey taste to it which in my mind includes a slight offtaste. It is very greasy. Couldn't honestly say that I would come back.

Very disappointing. Do not waste your money -- your tastebuds will not forgive you. I saw lots of good reviews on Yelp and decided to go a bit out of my way to try this small Columbia pizzeria. The shop was cold and drab. There was one person working (and a small, bored child sitting on a chair in the back). I had a bad feeling when I walked in the door to retrieve my to-go order -- where were the yummy smells I usually associate with good pizza? The pizza dough was tough, the sauce, greasy as noted in other reviews, was nearly non-existent. The quality of this pizza was on par with something you might get at a turnpike rest-stop eatery. My husband and I ate a piece and threw the rest in the trash. Go elsewhere for your pizza fix! I wonder if the shop has changed owner recently.

Not having it for dinner tonight. Couldn't even try the cuisine, as they refused to honor a valid coupon for a free pizza with the purchase of an equal or lesser value. The gentlemen working there said the max value of my coupon was $5, not an entire pizza. They did, however, take a photo of the coupon and said they'd call their sales associate...the next day. Not likely to have my business.

We took out a single topping 16 incher for $9.99 w/ a coupon tonight. I agree with others that the pie is indeed good. It is more greasy (not necessarily in a bad way) and has a chewier crust than Trattoria's pizza. I'm not a big fan of greasier pies but I liked this one. If I had to choose between here and Trattoria, I would choose Trattoria. Vennaris seems like a pizza & sub only joint versus Trattoria which has more options like pastas and more pizza by slice options. Dining in would be much more comfortable at Trattoria too. I would consider Vennaris as a take-out only place. Based on pizza alone I think I would go to Trattoria more often also. As I mentioned before, I'm more partial to less greasy pizza.

Cheap and delicious. I didn't grow up eating their pizza like some columbians but I like it all the same. Stick to the cheese I think its the best!!

Great sauce. Friendly staff, speedy service. Only here in town for 2 weeks and have already eaten there twice. And I'll go back again before leaving.

Vennari's is definately the best pizza in Columbia. Of course, the pizza in Columbia is not like the pizza in the NY area, but just the same, it is really good, fast and friendly. A definate neighborhood treasure.

Love this pizza. It is so good! Sauce is different then most places, has a little bit of zing or something. The way they put the sauce on after the cheese just works. This is one of my favorite pizzas. So much better than Papa Johns.

I have to say that Vennarri's must put crack in their pizza because it is soooo good! I recommend buying a whole pie rather then getting the slice (almost as good though) When they re-heat the slice it gets a little more crispy then the whole pie fresh. The thin slice and chewiness of the crust make it good, but the sauce makes it great and the cheese they use is very tasty. The plain pizza is the way to go when ordering. The uniqueness of the sauce on top and underneath the cheese make this unique blend so mouth watering. (and I am not a saucy pizza lover) It is not over powered by the sauce rather a perfect blend. Truly one of my favorite pizzas out there

Great place for cheap, quick, easy, and deliciously greasy NY style pizza. Order to-go or delivery as the interior is tiny and not very appetizing to look at. My favorite is the sausage pizza.Their onion rings and wings aren't bad either!

Wow. I've lived in Columbia for over 20 years, and only just recently found this place, and boy was I impressed with the Pizza. Outstanding. Try it.
(5)Don K.
Stopped in today. Meh, it was alright. I guess decent for Columbia. They do use real cheese and the crust was nice and chewy. I live in Ellicott City but I dont see myself coming back. It was deff a step up from chain pizza but thats not really saying much.

I haven't had a slice of Vennari's pizza since I was a little girl almost 30 years ago and it remains among the best memories of my childhood. Standing at the window getting a slice (cheese, of course) for around a buck. It was wonderful. We still talk about Vennari's all these years later and if we ever get back to Columbia we will definitely stop in!
(5)Justin M.
We get this pizza every Friday at work. It's the best pizza place we've had in Columbia. I've never had a bad slice and the taste is always consistent. It leaves a delicious flavor in your mouth that makes you think about it long after you've eaten it. It's rich with sauce and the cheese is fresh. It is way more filling than your chain pizza.
(5)Meghan M.
Vennaris was a wonderful break from the chain pizza places. Delivery was prompt and our pizza was hot. Our half sausage and half cheese pizza was greasy (in a good way), there was a good amount of quality cheese and the sauce was very unique (also in a good way). The crust was thick and chewy. It was definitely not even close to the best pizza that I have ever had, but we will order again.

Best pizza in the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area and the price is great. Don't go here if you are looking for ambiance and charm. The subs, well they are subs. But the pizza is awesome!! Good thin crust and super tasty sauce. When the original owners sold it to the current owners, they made them work there for a couple years to insure that the sauce would stay the same. THE BEST PIZZA WITHIN 100 MILES!!! I highly recommend to anyone from NYC to go here to get a slice. Yes, a pizzaria in the Baltimore/Washington corridor that sells it by the slice, and not some Sbarro bullshit that has been sitting under lights for hours, they sell so many slices that it is fresh and they will add the toppings you want and throw it in the oven for a couple minutes to heat it up. But seriously, cheese slice is the way to go! Vennaris is the shizle fo rizzle my nizzle!!!
(5)Mel N.
Meh. It's ok. Their sauce is unique, but I find it way too heavy. They are super quick , but I'd rather drive to trattoria. But even bad pizza is good...

Whenever I visit my parents, I eat Vennaris Pizza. Its always as good as I remember.....The Vennairis sold it BUT the sauce stayed the same.
(5)MK M.
