Slow service inside the store and incorrect drinks at the drive through on more than one occasion have caused me to avoid this location. I recently went back and the got the wrong drink in the driive through. I ordered a Trenta Passion tea which we confirmed twice at the box and they handed me a grande Passion tea lemonade at the window. How is that possible? I repeated my order and they gave me a Trenta drink. I think I will go back to avoiding this location.

This is one of the best starbucks I've been to. Everyone who works here is really nice! I don't think anyone has ever made a mistake in making my drink either. It's clean, efficient, and, best of all, it has a drive-through that's open 24 hours on the weekend, so I can play video games and watch movies all night long and then get a vent soy chai so I can stay awake even longer! :) There are also a lot of tables to work at also, unlike other starbucks around. Also has outdoor seating for the summer. My only suggestion (for Starbucks corp itself), is that they need to get almond milk! I guarantee it'll sell!
(5)
M B.
This starbucks is spacious inside and a comfortable place to go to get some work done while caffeinated. My big complaint is their service at the drive thru. This is my second time in 2 weeks and the drive thru wait is 20 mins. :( They need to work on being more efficient.

They are super quick in the morning, making an stop on the way to work easy. However, they make the drinks inconsistent. Sometimes they are perfect and other times... not so much

If you don't go through the drive-thru, this is one of the slowest Starbucks in the world. The inside amenities are nice.

This is by far the worst Starbucks I have ever been too! The drive thru is supposed to make things convenient and quicker, NOT THE CASE HERE!! I've tried giving them multiple chances but no this place is the worst! Not only does it take forever to Get thru the drive thru once you get to the window you will have to wait even longer and the workers are rude! Not to mention they usually mess up your order or it doesn't taste right, like it would at other Starbucks! I've been here during off hours and it still take 15-30 minutes to get thru the drive thru! I'd rather drive to a farther Starbucks and get a good tasting coffee and good service then suffer thru this place anymore

Spent some time at this 'Bux before a meeting in Columbia. It's off the beaten path a bit, but as Earl G. said, pretty much everything in this city's difficult to find. It seemed busy for a Wednesday morning at 11am, and the staff did a good job serving the customers quickly. I ordered a Pike Place brewed coffee and was pleasantly surprised at how mild it was (but I prefer my coffee on the weak side). It was a beautiful and sunny day, and the floor to ceiling windows allowed the sun to shine inside and warm the place up. It was a nice place to get some work done.

Needed a quick caffeine rush. Used the drive-thru. Reasonably quick. Service was good. Tried out their tiramisu latte. Tasted like burnt coffee. :( Still, it got the job done!

Every quarter or so I have a morning brief rotation and must skip my customary organic grain mush to get in early. I've tried McDonalds (yuk), Chick Fil A (OK but they don't open until 630), Hardees (OK), and now Starbucks. Starbucks sells a fairly decent breakfast sandwich with goat cheese and bacon. The coffee is OK. The service in the drive-thru is quick and accurate. All-in-all I'd rather go here than the other mentioned places.

As a coffee addict there isn't a week that goes by that I don't go to Starbucks and this is the prime location, relatively close to my house and a drive thru so no one will judge my pajamas. The drive thru staff is always friendly and relatively quick even during the morning and afternoon rush. During the morning you will battle with the customers at Chic-fil-A as the Starbucks drive thru line is right next to Chic-fil-A parking. I went the other night for a s'mores frappachino and unfortunately they were out and didn't have anything similar. The man working the drive thru was very helpful and recommended some newer drinks that weren't on the menu. I ordered one of his suggestions, a caramel cocoa cluster and was very pleased. My only complaint is if I come in the afternoon they almost never have my tomato mozzarella panini. Overall I'm a satisfied customer and will be back tomorrow no doubt!

I usually love waking up and coming to this Starbucks because its the only one with a drive thru. But this Sunday morning I don't know whether they were short staffed or what but it literally took me over an half an hour to get my coffee. Not only that but by time I got to the window they did not have my order together it was like crazy land in there. I love the staff and the products but please find a way to make the drive thru more productive and faster. Thanks

I like this Starbucks because it's got a large seating area, unobtrusive music (which can be an issue at some Starbucks) and the staff is courteous but maybe not exceptionally outgoing. You definitely see some interesting characters here and it's a reasonable place to sit down and do some work although the outlets are few and far between. Wifi is typical AT&T, decent speed, not overwhelmed and acceptable. As long as they maintain the standards of Starbucks coffee and drinks, I don't see giving them less than 4 stars unless the staff is exceptionally unfriendly. Good job!

Their coffee (i only order plain black coffee) is always fresh, service is decent & restrooms clean. What more can I ask for!? ... oh- entry & exit to the parking lot is awful - lot of walmart traffic nearby. I really miss the SB location across the street.
(4)
Ma-e M.
Tight drive thru in a crowded strip mall. Lots of traffic in and out of this location. Good luck with parking and hopefully, you can get out of the tight space. Location, location, location is so important but coffee is your priority, get over your tight phobia. Maybe, an expensive specialty coffee can snap you out of your complains. Your complain is true, but it is what it is. Fairy tale sometimes tells a true story as Forrest Gump can better understand that; it does not matter how long as long as you get it even in a difficult way.

Why do I bother? More often than not this is the situation at Starbucks here in Columbia, MD... 1. They royally screw up your order or 2. They have more 'baristas' than they do customers, yet the line is ridiculously long both at the drive thru and inside... or 3. You stand there forever with someone behind the cash register only to be told....so and so will help you and then they walk away. Sigh.........

It's a Starbucks. The "fast food" of coffee, it's over-commercialized and yet still tasty. Gotta get your caffeine on while sitting on your laptop? A decent place to do it. As for this particular Starbucks, service was pretty decent. Friendly folks behind the counter, questions answer, order done right, there was nothing to complain about. I enjoyed my time with a nice frappucino surfing Yelp. Maybe next time I'll throw them a curve ball and order something from their "secret menu".

Normally I make fun of people for reviewing starbucks. After all, starbucks are starbucks - that is sort of the idea of the entire chain: Homogeny. However, after moving to Ellicott City/Columbia area, I've realized a good starbucks (or really any nice sit down coffee joint) in the vast sea of targets, wal marts, and super stores of all types, even a starbucks, is a particularly great fine. This one has the perk of large over stuffed chairs with tables between them along one wall. Sure, there are the standard chairs and tables every great American novel was written at (right... that is what they're doing on there computers?) - but when you've had a soul crushing day spending an unforgivable amount of money at some mega-mart or the other, sipping an icy cold chai latte in a comfy chair watching a dozen apple logos light up the tables in front of you, makes you forget for a minute, that you're literally feet from a Chic Filet, Walmart, Jiffy Lube, Target, and a Dick's - which is well worth what ever they're charging you.

You would think that a place with fairly good seating (one of the biggest and best seating in Columbia-Area Starbucks), it'd have a nicer vibe... I have gone here multiple times, but all those times - one thing really bugged me (minus 1 star)... Con: The workers at this Starbucks location are LOUD. They're loud with each other (bothersome), but are friendly to customers (not bothersome)... Please tone it down; it's not a club :/ Otherwise, if you have a set of ear plugs, this place is good - consistent in their drinks. Never done the drive thru, but I know it gets really packed around lunch. Tip: parking sucks because its next to Chick fil A // Peak hours? (Lunch), then go into the Wendy's parking lot and park there and walk. It's close and it's VERY easy to also exit out. Everyone knows that Dobbin shopping area is a hot mess... So expect some traffic 24/7 when entering and exiting the parking lot entrance!

Mrs. S.
We have tried this drive through at least 20 times when we are shopping in the Dobbin area, but we avoid it whenever possible. I have a serious question for management: Does the staff : (a) purposely mess up orders at the window because they don't like working there; or (b) actually work somewhere else and therefore not know how to make Starbucks drinks; (c) have difficulty concentrating on short conversations; (d) not care in the least if the customer gets what they ordered; and/ or (e) all of the above?

One of the better Starbucks I've been to because there is plenty of seating inside and especially outside. Lots of places to charge any of your electronics and it's hard to come in here without seeing a few people on their laptops. Columbia proper is a maze - they designed it to be hard for outsiders to find their way around - no signs visible from the street, stores tucked away up streets on behind berms . . . if you're not from there, bring your GPS. This Starbucks is worth the trouble it will take an outsider to get there. It's very compact with a handful of small tables and a great counter against the window - my favorite spot. There's a deck with outside tables which don't get that much play, at least the times I've been there. The staff is engaging and works well together. Take the time to find this spot if you're in Columbia.

This is your typical Starbux... busy, full of people with their laptops who look incredibly busy but are probably just looking at facebook.... There are tons of smokers outside and often there isn't a place to sit after 6 pm on the weekdays. The regular staff is great and remember the drinks of regulars and will ask you about your day. But this summer they hired newbies and all of a sudden the line for coffee was out the door. Thank goodness for the long term employees or this could of been incredibly frustrating.... don't stand between a woman and her caffeine fix!

Would have been five stars if they hadn't have messed my drink up twice before. But don't let that discourage you by any means, I come here way often and the people have always been great and efficient. It's very comfortable in here as well. Always a good experience overall or else I wouldn't be here so often.

I'm a big fan of Starbucks, so unless something about the specific Starbucks in question is just terrible, it's always going to get a 4. Not 5, because Caribou Coffee is better than Starbucks, and my own coffee is better than either of theirs. I'm just too lazy to do anything about it. Alright, so this branch is pretty good. They don't burn the espresso, like so many other branches do. The location is convenient (though a little busy). It doesn't have that odd "coffee shop stench" and it isn't too packed with pretentious wannabe college hippies. If you want to be a hippy, you shouldn't be paying five bucks for a friggin' cup of coffee! It's a good place to hang while you are getting an oil change across the street.

It's spacious, but at the same time, so often too crowded to grab a seat to study, so I usually go to Panera close by to do work. I usually go to the much smaller but much less crowded one on Deepage Dr (internet there works much better too). As someone else mentioned, the one time I sat there for a while, the workers were VERY loud, especially amongst each other. Super friendly with customers, which is great, but also very loud in their conversations with each other, including playful banter, etc. Which is a little distracting when you are trying to do work. The coffee I got was made well, and they catered my slightly erratic requests. Also, my friend left his phone there accidentally, and realized a day later, and they had it for him, so A+ on that.

It doesn't have that odd "coffee shop stench" and it isn't too packed with pretentious wannabe college hippies. If you want to be a hippy, you shouldn't be paying five bucks for a friggin' cup of coffee! It's a good place to hang while you are getting an oil change across the street.

Needed a quick caffeine rush. Used the drive-thru. Reasonably quick. Service was good. Tried out their tiramisu latte. Tasted like burnt coffee. :( Still, it got the job done!

Loving the Drive Thu- never been asked to park on the side or nothing. Staff is fast and can read. Always a PLUS :) The outside area is very clean and welcoming
(5)Jerry F.
(5)M B.
This starbucks is spacious inside and a comfortable place to go to get some work done while caffeinated. My big complaint is their service at the drive thru. This is my second time in 2 weeks and the drive thru wait is 20 mins. :( They need to work on being more efficient.
(3)Andy B.
They are super quick in the morning, making an stop on the way to work easy. However, they make the drinks inconsistent. Sometimes they are perfect and other times... not so much
(3)Kimo I.
If you don't go through the drive-thru, this is one of the slowest Starbucks in the world. The inside amenities are nice.
(1)Rebecca G.

The worst Starbucks in the area. Period. Piss poor customer service and attitudes every time I come to this location.
(1)Sade P.
Thanks
(3)John C.
My caramel macchiato was great but the customer service was even better! Jon was welcoming, kind and appeared to genuinely enjoy what he was doing. Starbucks needs more people like him. I look forward to becoming a regular!
(5)Arthur G.
Good job!
(4)Ben S.
Their coffee (i only order plain black coffee) is always fresh, service is decent & restrooms clean. What more can I ask for!? ... oh- entry & exit to the parking lot is awful - lot of walmart traffic nearby. I really miss the SB location across the street.
(4)Ma-e M.
(3)Becca S.
(1)Brook H.
(3)Lameka A.
While visiting today, I asked the cashier if she can check to see if they had a coffee mug I was looking for and they looked and had it!! It was completely sold out online. I was so happy!!!
(5)David M.
(3)Caroline N.
(4)Brian R.
Absolutely delightful staff and very good baristas. Remembers me by name now and knows my "usual" just from the sound of my voice over the drive-in speaker :-)
(5)John D.
Always friendly folks working here. Usually quite fast with orders.
(4)Mrs.
(2)Rob W.
One of the better Starbucks I've been to because there is plenty of seating inside and especially outside. Lots of places to charge any of your electronics and it's hard to come in here without seeing a few people on their laptops. Service is fast, snacks are well-stocked and fresh, and the coffee (yeah I only order coffee, sorry, boring) is always served hot and fast. Great place to meet up and study if you have to.
(5)Sahar T.
Very good customer service. A nice area to sit outside and enjoy.
(5)Jason P.
They've moved across the street - and now there's a drive-thru! I used to be a "regular" and they knew my order - never had to say it. Makes you feel special. Good service. You have to be patient with the cashier though - you'll see what I mean - dear lady.
(4)Jamie D.
7/16-Was in need for a coffee fix out shopping a few days ago. I have a love hate relationship with starbucks. Sometimes I am a fan, some times I am disappointment. I think Starbucks is over priced and over rated, but I can say they sure know how to make there money. Always have something new coming out. I have been trying to cut out the junk and stick to the chi tea. Which really helps me in a morning I am feeling groggy.
(3)Earl G.
(4)Mary M.

After numerous visits and attempts they took out the time to finally perfect my coffee EXACTLY the way I liked and I am 4ever a fan. (5)Junior V.
Great location- Corp should us this location as a model. They have 2 tip jars w/ unique topics for each day. Tip jars are over flowing unlike other Starbucks. Everyone is always friendly too! 4 stars b/c it could be a larger place more indoor sitting.
(4)Jessica S.

(4)Joel L.

This location has a drive thru, which is awesome! Unfortanetly, not only is the location crowded because of the surrounding fast food drive thrus, the drive thru line is really popular. We ended up driving to another Starbucks just because this one was too crowded.

The worst Starbucks in the area. Period. Piss poor customer service and attitudes every time I come to this location.

The staff is friendly, there is ample seating, and the location and hours are great. However, the wifi is incredibly inconsistent.

Needed a quick caffeine rush. Used the drive-thru. Reasonably quick. Service was good. Tried out their tiramisu latte. Tasted like burnt coffee. :( Still, it got the job done!
