It doesn't get any better. You'll get addicted. This place is incredible! EVERYBODY loves Rita's. Only problem is... long lines sometimes :( GET THE GELATI mmm watermelon or mango flavored italian ice with vanilla custard....... Heaven

Don't let their god-awful web site fool you; they may not have much in the way of taste when it comes to web design, but they've got superb taste when it comes to frozen custard. I was killing some time waiting for a pizza, so I wandered over to Rita's and ordered a plain frozen custard: layered orange cream and vanilla. Wow. It was de-lic-ious. Smooth. Creamy. Rich. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to slowly savor each bite, or shovel it into my mouth as fast as I could. Just yum. Menu choices include frozen custard, Italian ice, gelati (a layering of frozen custard and Italian ice) and blendini (frozen custard, Italian ice and some sort of mix-in, blended together). As mentioned in another review, this location is outdoor-only. There are a bunch of tables nearby, so you can sit and savor your frozen treat if you don't want to walk around the mall. Prices are a bit high, but not obscenely so. Besides, your mouth will justify it to your brain after you take your first bite.

Rita's is money. This place has the best custard and Italian ices that I have ever had. This location is nestled in the new and improved King's Contrivance Village Center right next to the brand new Harris Teeter. It's an outdoor only location so make sure it's nice out when you order your delicious gilato. I've been friends with the owners of this place since I was a kid and can vouch for them. They, and their product, are legit.

A totally different setup for this location. Flavors are good as other ones. Service with a smile and fast. Text Ritas to 313131 for 10% off. Cool! This area is very peaceful and laid back. I love it here. If you are in the area, stop by and enjoy a Rita's!!

If you don't like Rita's, then I'm not sure that we can be friends. Overall, Rita's is great. Every location is a little different (like.. I've heard some serve both Italian Ice AND Hawaiian Ice... not sure what the difference is). This one is pretty good, but it doesn't have the pretzels and other food bits. Sucks, but not enough to drop the score. How good is it? Let me put it to you like this. Typically, if you have raving reviews about an ice cream or otherwise frozen treat place, you're likely hanging out with and talking to the crazy cat lady from down the street that doesn't take care of her lawn and checks the mail four times a day in her bath robe. There is also a fair chance that you are a weirdo. This place is perfectly okay to get all weird about. It's that simple. I'd let this place have its way with me, and I'm not even the mother-hen that c-blocks you from her hot friends when you're trying to pick them up at the club, so you might want to take my opinion on this frozen treat Edan seriously. If Coldstone and Maggy Moo's are the kings of the ice cream game, Rita's is the king of flavored ices. By the by, they also have really EFF'n great custard. So here's my final word on it, this place is great, and if you don't like it, you can go EFF yourself.

New management is not peanut-friendly. Last year this was a great place to go after sports, Scout, etc. events, but now some kids will be left out. This year they introduced peanut candy to mix into the custard, contaminating the whole store. This added maybe 3 new flavors, but alienated everyone with allergies or who have friends with allergies.

Great place to go during the summer for a cool treat. They have a lot of flavor options, the chocolate fudge brownie is my favorite. They let you sample flavors as well. My only complaint would be that the flavors change on a daily basis, so sometimes they don't have my top choices.

Now that it's under new management (2012), it's understaffed and under-flavored. While the ices and custard are still good, the lack of variety and long lines ensure I'll be losing weight this summer (or frequenting a different Rita's).

It's ok frozen custard, but for what it is, it's kind of pricey. Also, some of the cashiers offer to stamp those little cards for you no matter what you buy, and others tell you no stamps for children's sizes and stuff like that, it just depends who is working here on the day. Of course, it's all personal taste, but I find most of the Italian ices they serve to be impossibly sweet and not at all authentic. But they seem to have a ton of locations, so I'm probably in the minority. In terms of locations, this one is sooooo much nice than the Rita's at the Safeway plaza. This one is opposite the bagel bin and the pizza place, and there are some excellent iron tables and chairs to sit at and watch the kids run around screaming after all the sugar :-)

What's not to LOVE about this place! It's tucked away in the corner so it's hard to find, but that's ok. I love getting the wild black cherry and when they have it I love to get the chocolate peanut-butter ice. Never had to wait in line here, but we do go at random times so that might be why haha.

The owner of this store does fundraisers where he promises to donate a certain percentage of profits for the day to non-profit organizations. The owner of this Rita's stiffed a friend of mine out of a contribution to 24 hrs of Booty, Columbia MD. Very unprofessional. The owner is an young guy who thinks he's a businessman. Has so much to learn about life and people. Karma is a bitch young man.

This business as a whole is GREAT! This location lives up to the Franchise's standard. I have discovered vanilla custard with fruity pebbles as a topping. LOVE IT! Word of advice, on the first day of spring, they have free italian ice :) Try them you'll enjoy!!!

Under new ownership in 2014. Way better then the previous owners they really cleaned the store up! They are always giving out coupons so be sure to ask at the window! Best place to get dessert hands down.

All the reviews here are great. They all basically provide you with all the information you need to know about Rita's. "Blueberry Gelato. Largest 1 you got!" Blue Raspberry is also good. Pure amazingness! Its starting to become a chain which is sad, but its the best gelato I've ever had!

If you're at the nearby Corner Stable Inn, skip their dessert and head over to Rita's instead. Their frozen treats are great, the prices are reasonable, and the employees here are always friendly. If you want a tip on what to order, a "gelati" with black cherry ice and vanilla custard is basically the new ambrosia.

Tried Rita's for the first time today after living in the area for 20 years. I only ordered a vailla custard with no toppings, but I have to say it was definitely good. The custard was very creamy and delicious, and I savored every bite. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and even opened about ten minutes early when she found out i was waiting for them to open. Good job! This place blows Cold Stone out of the water!

Ah, what a nice stop for Italian ice or custard. Top notch ingredients with great tastes. Loved the wild black berry and raspberry. They make the ice fresh each day. Has 3 sizes of kiddie, regular and large. The kiddie was just fine for me for a nice after dinner treat. Friendly servers. If you like Italian ice, this is the place to go near Columbia.
