They serve meat and vegetarian here while on the other side, it is only vegetarian. Food was so so. I got the samosa and mango lassi which were not great. The lamb vindaloo was pretty bad in that it didn't taste like the lamb was marinated or cooked in the sauce at all. The chicken tikka masala was also ok but compared to other indian restaurants around the area, this place failed to impress me. The naan was the only thing that met my expectations.

We love ordering take out from here! The naan is fluffy and delicious. The butter chicken is delicious too. We recently tried the Saag Murgh and it was wonderful! The rice is also light and cooked perfectly. We usually pick up a few favorites from the Mango Grove (vegetarian menu) as well. Both restaurants are under the same roof and orders can be combined from both menus.

Their lunch buffet is awesome. Its a indo- chinese fusion. their starters are exactly what you expect to be if you were to eat in a chinese restaurant in India. I especially loved their Broccoli 65 and the pani puris. the service was good and food was fresh!

We go here once every few months. Pretty good food and you'll definitely not find the typical stuff that is the run of the mill in the Indian restaurants. The veg dishes are outstanding and have some Indo-Chinese spices goin on in them. Good hosts and great waiting service. I'd recommend this joint.

So driving up we were really confused. We were looking for Mirchi Wok and the sign read Mango Grove, so we thought we were in the wrong place. Turns out both restaurants are under the same roof. Being Indian, I'm normally not a fan of Indian restaurants (the food is typically too greasy and generic for me), but this place has several unique dishes that are difficult to find elsewhere. I was particularly excited about their Indo-Chinese menu options. This is the style of "Chinese" food popular in India, and it's spicier and a little drier than American Chinese food. These restaurants are pretty difficult to find in the USA. Both our entrees, the chili chicken and hakka noodles were totally on the mark. The manager recommended getting the Broccoli 65 next time we return. I'm excited to find an Indo-chinese place in sleepy Columbia - we'll be back!

Saturday was the first time we visited the new location. The last time I went when they were still next to Chik-Fil-A was a disappointing experience. Went with some co-workers for a lunch buffet in the middle of the week and the buffet was small and food was very bland. Fast forward 3 years. They are now located in the space formerly occupied by Mongolian Grill. After some Saturday errands, the wife and I were going to try out Royal Taj near Green Turtle for lunch but the place was packed. Since we had already convinced ourselves we wanted Indian food, we decided to try Mirchi Wok. I remembered my less-than-stellar experience but decided to suck it up since she wanted Indian. We walked in and there were only 3 other tables occupied, which was odd after seeing Royal Taj filled to the brim. Things weren't looking good for this place. They've re-used the serving space left behind by Mongolian Grill so it appears there is much more food offerings than their old location. The foods are labeled so you know what you're getting for the most part. Seating space also increased. After the first few bites, my old memory of their bland food disappeared and was replaced by the yumminess of the naan, the goat, the curry potatoes, and the fragrant rice. The food quality was much improved. I don't know if tandoori chicken is supposed to be dry but every time I've had it at any Indian restaurant (whether buffet or off the menu), it's been dry. That was really the only thing I did not enjoy at lunch. They have soups, salads, and dessert, too. The servers were very attentive. Even though they leave the water pitcher at the table with you, they were constantly stopping by our table to refill our water glasses for us. Plates were cleared in a timely manner. About 15 minutes into our meal, the place started filling up with many people, most of whom were Indian (so that's a good sign). We overheard the couple behind us tell the server and the owner (a nice lady) that they were vegan. She went over their menu what vegan offerings they had. I stopped listening early on since I could barely understand her English but it was nice of her to take the time to go over the food choices with them. When they first arrived at the restaurant, she took them around to the food items to explain what they were. I wish we would've asked somebody what this and that sauce was but we tend to just try and experiment. Will have to try the vegetarian offerings at Mango Grove next.

Went here twice to try some indo chinese dishes. Food is good, service is not that great. First time, I ordered mirchi fried rice with chicken. The food took awhile to be served and when it came, they forgot the chicken, I had to wait again for my food again. Second time, I went during buffet time but wanted to order off the menu. The staff brought naan to the table and the lady ( I think she was a manager) was very rude to me for taking a piece of naan out of the basket since I didn't order from the buffet but my lunch mates did. Would only come here for carry out, not dine in.

There's no Mirchi Wok. There's Mango Grove and it says so outside. Inside, the manager/server told us that "we share a kitchen." That should've been a signal to leave but I was craving some Indian Chinese. The food was mediocre but what really stung was the attitude of the owner/manager. He kept trying to add things to the order and I had to repeatedly ask, "Does that come with my entree?" And it took three tries to get him to admit that it didn't. Then insisting on ordering for my friend, he suggested a special and then chose to add a couple of naan to the order that we didn't ask for. An extra 5$ on the bill would be fine out of a misunderstanding but the manager/server basically was strong-arming us to buy more food we didn't want, need or ask for. It's the kind of customer service behaviour you expect from telemarketers and insurance salespeople. In the more than hundred places I've tried in this state? This is only the second one I'd emphatically say: Don't go here. The food is mediocre enough without having to deal with a manager like that.

Went for dinner one evening with my family because I wanted to try some good Indian food. The food was amazing! I had the Chili Chicken which was fantastic, the naan was great! My family had some of the pasta dishes and they enjoyed it a lot. They messed up an order but the manager gave us some free appetizers to make up for it. Definitely going back. Can't wait to try the lunch buffet!

Mirchi grill platter, chicken65(though it doesn't taste like authentic chicken 65), mirchi goat gosht and their rice were all very good. Must must go. Wasn't a big fan of their desserts though. I liked this place way better than the other Indian rests in Columbia.

2 stars means "Meh. I've experienced better." And I'm sad to say that yes I have after eating here. It's not horrible at all. But I think there are other places that I've tried that are definitely better. I had the chicken tikka masala. here they give you a choice of wanting it mild, medium or hot. I chose medium. It was just ok. The chicken was a bit dry and the sauce was just lacking in the creaminess that I'm used to at other restaurants. I also had the regular naan and that was ok. But I've had other naans which were quite fluffier in texture, so I guess this one fell a bit flat for me. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things because the table next to me seems to be really enjoying themselves. And it was pretty busy. So maybe I just missed something...

First thing I noticed at the restaurant, lots of indian people except for the waiter, which in most cases is a good sign to me! We ordered a bunch of dishes, and the food came out hot, fresh and good. The nan''s were thin and soft, but at $2 a pop, I felt it was a bit pricey, but I will say they were some of the best Nan's I've had in MD. Among the group favorites were the butter chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Samosa's as appetizers were a waste, stay clear. The down side, the waiter didn't understand a lick of english. Every time I asked him for assistance he would nod his head in agreement and then the manager would come and ask if i needed something. He was a really nice spanish waiter though, but I kind of wish I had an english to spanish dictionary with me.

Yummy tandoori dishes and mango lassis - order off the menu and skip the buffet. I haven't had much luck with the quality of the lunch buffets during the week or I would have given in 4 stars.

This is the meat-eating side of Mango Grove. It's ok, and apparently the best for quite some radius. Well, the *only* for quite some radius. We invaded as a large, boisterous group and took up most of this side. The servers didn't quite seem to get that we wanted the chefs to make what they enjoy making. They seemed to want a list of what we wanted. The food was good. Nothing too heavily spiced, which is kinda a shame, although I'm glad they're light on the cilantro. The lamb naan was a great, glutenous treat. There was a lentil dish I quite liked on top of the onion naan. At the end, though, we felt somewhat overcharged. Perhaps it's partially our fault for not keeping track of what's served.

I am a big fan of Indian, and this place does it pretty well. I like getting the saag gosht, but I've tried several things without disappointment. The service is good, and if you can find a restaurant.com coupon or likewise, it's a really good deal. Also, I've been there for the lunch buffet and left completely stuffed with happiness.

Perhaps my most favorite Indian restaurant in Baltimore area. The food and service are both great. One tip....please don't order the 'usual' Indian items (e.g. tikka masala, tandoori chicken). Sample some of the items that you wouldn't find in every Indian restaurant (e.g. Gunpowder roast)

By far one of my favorite Indian restaurants EVERRR. They never fail on flavor. We've had the lunch buffet several times as well as dinner and it is ALWAYS delicious. Their lunch buffets never skimps on flavor as many lunch buffets do (to cater to the masses). The service is equally as amazing, it's not rare for the owner to come out, greet you and make sure you're enjoying your meal. The naan is always fluffy and warm and their ingredients are always fresh. This place is definitely worth the drive for a delicious Indian meal. I'm even consider making the drive from Chevy Chase since I have yet to find an Indian restaurant in the area comparable to Mirchi Wok/Mango Grove :(

Went at the beginning of lunch, so crowd was sparse. Mixed review. The chana masala was good, but kinda cold. The "soup" (the one frequently at indian buffets) was very good, as were many of the appetizers.

We went there on a Monday at 5, left at 6:30, and the whole time we were the only customers in the joint. Too much competition in Columbia? It's right near Royal Taj, which is always packed. But the food here is pretty good. The naan is quite good, and I got the Chicken 65 which is their chef's secret recipe - it was excellent. Very flavorful. I ordered it extra spicy and got something that I would say was on the spicy side of medium, but I suppose for others it would have been very hot. If you're looking for "Indian Boiling Lava Hot" you might have issues. My dinner companions got the butter chicken which was a bit salty but good. They have a menu which has some choices on it which you don't normally see at most Indian places, so for me that makes it worth a visit, if not several.

We got there about 40 minutes before they were supposed to close but they didn't rush us. The food was prompt and delicious. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (Creamy yet refreshing tomato sauce) and the Garlic naan (the cilantro on it was tasty), my fiancee had the Lamb Vindaloo (spicy and yummy) and we both had mango lassi. It was all very delicious and the server was terrific!
