Full disclosure: both my husband and I are originally from the Jersey Shore, and I spent a college summer working in a sub shop there. So we know and like our subs, but are usually lukewarm at best about the ones sold in this area. We just visited this Jersey Mike's for the second time, and both times we were very happy with the subs. He had the Original Italian, I had the Club, and they were both just the way we like them. Great bread, meats and cheese sliced right there, fast service! We will be back whenever we are in the Columbia area! We wish there was one closer to home!

First timer! Had The Original Italian today.. Bread and meat were fresh and the service was friendly. Wish the seating wasn't so limited but overall I had an enjoyable experience..

Place is really nice inside. Fresh and clean. Very nice staff. Friendly and happy to help. I wish the food quality matched. That would be a great set up. It's a disappointment to pay $8.45 total for a 7 inch sub but if it's good, then that would be justifiable. I had the buffalo chicken sub. This was mostly bread, soupy with excess franks sauce, and so little chicken. Seriously little chicken. There are plenty other sub shops that I'll choose over this store. Thanks for the great service though. It's just not enough.

I wanted to like this place I really did.. But as I was in line ordering my sandwich I noticed they pushed dirty lettuce from the cutting board back into the lettuce container.. When I asked about it I was told that's how they do it "mikes way" good thing I didn't order a cold sandwich and it wasn't prepared with the old dirty lettuce.. I'm pretty sure this will be my first and last visit to this place.. Such a shame because I love Philly Cheesesteaks and was hoping for a place nearby that prepared good ones.. As far as the food goes I didn't realize how big the "giant" sandwich was! It was enough for two meals for me and was decent.. Nothing I'm really going to miss since I'll likely never go back to this place..

I think I've been here 3 or 4 times. My usual : Turkey Breast with Provolone add bacon. Mike's way minus Tomatoes Honey: The Original Italian. Mike's way minus the Tomatoes. We both love how thin the meat is shaved and the bread is so soft and fresh. We always get the 7".. although I have figured out I never finish the 7". So I may start getting the 5" or opt for the wrap option. My one complaint. My daughter doesn't so deli meat. So I asked they could do a grilled cheese on a bread or wrap. And they said no. Im confused you have all items needed for this. I said I would pay for the veggie meal just fix me a grilled cheese option. Nope. No can do. Still not sure.. there never explanation just "we cant do that" If there is a line... it moves super quick. They also have where you get a sandwich turned into a "salad" meaning the sandwich no bread. They have inside and outside seating, but the inside is tight. We usually order to go and take it home or a near by park. I would love to try the cheese steak when Im in the mood.

I decided to try this place today. I prefer hot over cold subs & got the famous philly. I'm not big on green peppers and I didn't order it "mikes way" but added mayo. There was no way I could eat the giant size so I stuck with the regular. I think the guy said it was 17 inches or something crazy. He was helpful & patiently waited while I figured out what I wanted. It was pretty good, the cheese tasted like it was melted instead of just placed on top of the grilled steak. I would return to try a cold sub now that I've had a chance to look at the menu I brought home. I'm not crazy about Italian subs but maybe the turkey w/ provolone, club or roast beef.

And In Conclusion........ I like this place. The staff is always friendly. The food is pretty good. Its a step above Quiznos and Subway. They actually have a grill!

Best cheesesteak (Big Kahuna) I've had at a quick lunch joint in the area. I recommend ordering it without extra cheese -- it'll let you taste the goodness that is the beef and jalapenos and such. I've had the Chicken Parm sub, which was just OK. Isn't the same without a deep fryer and a guy from the Bronx working in the kitchen. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast -- it beats the pants off of Subway and Quiznos for hot subs in my opinion.

I came here late at night, right before they closed at 9. I called ahead and asked if I could come around 8:40, they said sure. I went in and the set up is easy. Order, pay, then wait and they'll bring out the food to you. Or at least that's what happened to me. I had it to go tho so maybe that was different. I got the Famous Philly Steak and the Pastrami subs. Went home, gave the Philly sub to my brother and had the Pastrami myself. I'm really glad that there's a place that has a PASTRAMI SUB. It's about TIME. Unfortunately it's from a chain but ahh well. The Pastrami sub was really good and tasty. The only place that sells Pastrami Subs as far as I know.

Jersey Mikes... what a great addition to the area.. If you are thinking Jersey Mikes is just a run of the mill sub shop... you are wrong...and this location just solidifies how awesome Jersey Mike's is. The Staff is always friendly, helpful and extremely patient when you can't decide if you want it Mikes way or not... so big pluses there. But I know what you are thinking... ok great service but if the food sucks why would I go... well the food is awesome!! The bread is fresh and super tasty, the meat and cheese is ALL deli style and they cut it fresh for you in front of you! So plus for that. Another HUGE plus, Jersey Mike is great for vegetarians. As I mentioned before they freshly slice all the meats and cheese, but if you order a vegetarian sub, you can always ask that they CLEAN the slicer and they do!! Happily. This is the ONLY place where they do that, no other companies even think about, so massive plus for Jersey Mikes! The only thing Jersey Mikes is lacking is their number of fixings, but all you really need is lettuce, onion, tomatoes, greens peppers, jalapenos and banana peppers. (that's right I just named all their fixings) So no real negative :) Again overall, Jersey Mikes is a solid solid sub shop, from the standard cold cut sub to the hot Chicken cheese steak sub... they do them all very well and with a smile! Will I be back... of course, heck already have, so grab your surf boards and sunscreen we are heading to the Jersey Shore!!

Literally obsessed with this place. When I lived in GA, there were a couple of these around and it was the perfect goto stop! Super fresh, super quick, and great quality! The staff are adorable and sweet. And this place is perfect for your lunch quick stop! You will never go back to subways(.....yuck) again! They definitely know how to make a solid sub! Toooo excited they opened up! You'll see me there weekly!

So happy that Jersey Mike's is now in Columbia! Originally growing up in New Jersey, Jersey Mike's is a sub shop that I missed so bad. Jimmy John's is good but just doesn't cut it. And Subway, forget it. This Jersey Mike's is setup awesome with two parallel sandwich prepping areas, so during the mad lunch rush they are more than prepared to handle the craziness. Every time I come in here, it's during the lunch rush and I always can walk out with my sub in about 5 minutes. The freshness and options are just about impossible to beat. Check it out, this is a brand new location and has ample seating inside and out.

The bread is terrible, the meats are low grade, but that's not the worst part. I recently went there because my girlfriend likes the place, but they screwed up both our subs (not the first time). When I went back for a refund the employees laughed at me. The manager did give me a refund, as the employees stood behind him and sniggered. I'll never go here again.

Being born and raised in Maryland I had never had a "Jersey Mikes" sub. And I'm glad I didn't have one until now or else I would be 500 pounds because I would eat them all day everyday. How amazing! By far the best sub I have ever had. I got the Italian cold cut and a cookie. My sub was packed high with meat and bursting with flavor. I felt like I was in another world. I had honestly never had something that tasted that good from a sub shop non the less. The staff was super friendly. And I have a vice where I have to finish a meal with desert. So I ate the cookie they offer there. It was so good as well. Soft even though it was from a plastic wrapper. The meat is all sliced fresh in front of you. The bread is fresh and it smells like bread when you first walk in. The onion mix they put on your sub is amazing. Tastes almost like onions that have been marinated in balsamic vinaigrette. Amazing. I will be coming here every day for lunch until I am tired of it. Completely affordable and the best bang for your buck. It's almost a sin to come because once you do, you will be hooked. Don't believe me? Try it for youself. Great quick lunch spot.

Have had so many subs from here! Hands down one of my favorite places, so yummy. The employees are wonderful.. They greet you right when you come in and are quick to take your order and get you your food. It's hard not to go and get a sub everyday!

Its ok. Nothing to write home about. I can understand the excitement of other reviewers since it is a new entrant inthe ever expanding Columbia fast food scene. For a better idea of where 'Jersey Mikes' stands at, check out the reviews of their Laurel location. I would rate the sandwiches on par at 'Jimmy John's'. I prefer my bread toasted but that's not an option here. Sure, they'll slice the meat and cheese in front of you, but apart from it being pleasing on the eyes, i'm not sure it does a great deal for the taste. The fixings are limited and so are the seasonings. The price is reasonable and the service is, well, ok. As for me, when it comes to fast food sandwiches Potbelly still stand head and shoulders above the rest.

First time trying this place out. AWESOME! The line was out the door. Luckily I ordered online and went to the back to the pickup line. They didn't find the order right away but I think I threw them off by giving my wife's name first then mine. The manager came out with the subs and said "get yourself a drink". I really didn't even wait long. But the best part was the food..... The cheesesteak was fantastic! I could eat that everyday!! Definitely will be back!

I went here for lunch today for the first time. I had signed up for their emails a few months ago and had a coupon for a free bag of chips and a free drink with purchase. As I do with many places, I looked up the menu online beforehand so I wasn't stuck looking at the menu board trying to make up my mind on what I wanted. I went with the regular club sub (turkey, ham, provolone, bacon, mayo & mike's way), mike's way (onions, lettuce, tomatoes, spices and "the juice", a red wine vinegar and olive oil blend) minus the onions. I got that to go since I was on a time crunch and would just eat my desk. I was really impressed with this sub. The tomatoes were room temperature (other sub places, like Subway, their tomatoes are refrigerated and cold which I do not like) and consistent in size. I have never tried mayo, and oil & vinegar on a sub, but I was very happy with it. I was also impressed with the bacon. The pieces were bite sized and crunchy, and added a great flavor to each bite. With my coupon for free chips and drink, I paid $7.90 for my meal. Can't really beat that, considering I will eat the 2nd half for dinner tonight or lunch tomorrow. I will definitely be back.

The reason that I am going to give this location only 3 stars is because I have been to the Laurel location and I was much more impressed with their location. I am always impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the delicious bread, but here at the Columbia location, I feel like I am getting cheated out on the meat! I also feel like the staff are inconsistent with taking the orders correctly. I still also enjoy my food, and enjoy Jersey Mike's. Glad to have a location in Columbia.

I've heard of Jersey Mike's, but never been to one until now. Went during opening week and the line was out the door. Other than being opening week, I assumed this place had to be great with all the excitement. Wrong. One of the reasons for the line is that they cut the meat when you order and they only have 1 slicer/sandwich maker for the walk ins. Horrible concept in 2 fold -- 1..it increases the wait time and 2, it is not very sanitary to use the same slicer for every meat and cheese. I guess if you have any allergies, you just stay away. After you order from the meat slicer, someone else puts the fixings on the sandwich. I ordered the giant Italian sandwich mike's way except no onions. FYI, the giant sub is big enough for 2-3 people. I found the sandwich to be average. I usually get an Italian at all sandwich shops and there is only so much you can do to it to make it standout. The biggest thing is the bread and I found Jersey Mike's to be average. I find the sandwich to be similar to Potbelly's which I also find to be average. I'd rate Jersey Mike's as better than Quiznos and Subway, but Jimmy John's takes the cake with the best bread and fastest service. I might go back to try a hot sub like a cheese steak and maybe find out what the hype is about.

Great friendly service. The dining area could use more attention. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. I was a little disappointed to find the cheese was white American. Maybe this could be added to the menu?

Mike should have stayed his butt in jersey. Not impressed at all. Ordered the grilled pastrami Reuben and it came to me like a soup sandwich. Pastrami was barley visible through sauerkraut "sauce" mix. Taste was ok but sad that Subway makes a better sandwich than this place for cheaper. I did complain, although the manager was polite and courteous, he still stood by this crap sub I held in my hand. Won't return.

Decent cheesesteaks, but not as good as the ones I get from local sub shops. However, it's a nice addition to the area and I like that you can get both hot and cold subs there. I wish they offered fries though!! As others mentioned, it's definitely a step above Quiznos or Subway as far as chain sub shops go. They also have nice outdoor seating.

So i still like the place the 3rd time here. Toppings are plenty, everything is sliced thin, and i really nejoy the sandwiches "mike's way". However, i will say to avoid the roast beef here. It's very dry and difficult to eat in my opinion.

We had the WORST food ever and will NEVER, ever go back. My Baja Chicken Wrap had no cheese, the chicken was like rubber. My husband's Pastrami Sub had very, very, very little sauerkraut and NO thousand island dressing. WHAT A WASTE OF OUR MONEY. Our poor stomachs didn't know what hit them. YUCK! If I could, no stars given.

MMMM....Jersey Mikes. Haven't had their sandwiches since I moved from SC almost 3 years ago. I missed them. I was leaving Costco and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Saw JM's and had to stop. It was lunch time and it was PACKED up in there. At least 15 people in line and every table inside and outside was spoken for. These folks know how to move a line. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes due to the staff's conveyor belt of sandwich making deliciousness. Don't fear the lunch crowd- these people have got it on lock. If you feel better, call ahead (I also think you can order online...don't quote me on that though). I got my favorite sandwich (roast beef and provolone) and ate it in my car. I forgot how good their mayo is (I think they add vinegar to it or something...it's really tangy). I also really dig their bread. Overall, I was super psyched to have found another one of my favorite lunch stops in MD. Yippie! I'll definitely be back!

Caution the oil and vinegar, they drown the sandwiches in that. The flavor is good, not great. It's a pretty limited menu, but they are quick.

Ordered a Big Kahuna with no onions and no sweet peppers. The roll was really big with hardy any meat seemed like half the amount of cheese steak that should have been used. I've been going to Jersey Mike's for year and I'd have to say this wasn't my favorite.

  • Jason P.

Good selection of cold and hot subs. I enjoyed the chipotle cheese-steak. The flavors of the sauce and green peppers sort of overshadowed the meat - which may have been a little on the conservative side. Something different from Subway or Jimmy John's (both nearby). The deli meats are sliced in front of you for your sandwich - feels fresher. The bread, which in my opinion can really make or break a sandwich, is quite tasty. Pepsi-brand soda products (fountain or bottled) are a plus in my book. The service was adequate - about 10 minutes with 5 people ahead. Outdoor seating available.

I don't see what all the fuss is about... This was my first visit and probably last. I appreciate the fast service and fresh meat, I don't like the overkill on toppings that get wasted or the fact that my sub (along with others) hit the counter bare where people pay. Maybe they're working out the kinks, not sure, but I wasn't impressed.

Folks were personable, service was quick, and the sandwiches were good. It was constantly busy in there, the line was always quick; so the flow in there was pretty good. They did a good job training the folks at this franchise, two thumbs up.
