This is the default place to go when you can't decide where to get food in the Gateway. The sandwiches are great at a fair price. The combos are the cheapest meal around. See the specials menu for fare that comes and goes. Cold cut Italian sub is a nice fallback if you can't decide. In the specials menu, get the grilled chicken parm sub if you can catch it. Jae's breakfast is an office tradition on Fridays. While i usually have it, I only dock one star because it isn't as good as their lunch food. The diner quality shows through with the steamed bread and such. The only bad thing I ever had were the buffalo tenders. The sauce they use is NOT buffalo sauce, but something closer to sweet and sour. If they swapped the sauce, they could have killer crispy buffalo chicken subs because the tenders were perfect.

I LOVE this place! In a nutshell: great service, delicious food, and cheap prices! The food is consistently great-my favorites include the steak and cheese, shrimp salad sandwich, egg salad, and chicken tenders. I agree w/other reviews that this place is very personable-they get to know your name in 2-3 visits! They have a location called jaes grill that just opened which is fantastic as well! Bottom line: consistent, delicious, big bang for your buck!

I am literally 2 doors down from Jae's and we LOVE this place. We go there at least once or twice a week for lunch and sometimes for breakfast. The french toast platter is sinfully delicious! Their sandwiches are great too. I haven't had anything that I haven't liked. I really like the Greek salad. It's simple, yet good! One thing I didn't realize they did was catering.... Our company was have a celebration and wanted to treat the associates with a hot, hearty breakfast and we found out we needed to find a place at the last minute. Also, we had a limited budget, we called Jae's and they were able to provide us with a hot spread including scrambled eggs, with and w/o cheese. Sausage, bacon , ham, hash browns toast and jellies at a very reasonable price. Everyone was impressed with the set up and more importantly they thought the food was great! If you work in the area an want a hot breakfast catered, please consider Jae's. You will not be disappointed.

Jae's Deli is a perfect place go grab lunch, particularly if you work in one of the nearby offices. Their prices are reasonable, with full meals (sandwich/wrap, drink, chips/fries) in the $6-8 range. Order turnaround is fast. I've had several of their offerings and found all to use fresh, quality ingredients. Their specials rotate daily, and some of the combinations are quite interesting. I was impressed by how generous they are with the meat. Definitely worth a trip.

Visited Jae's Deli rather than Jae's Grill as a toss-up choice; my work is about halfway between the two locations. I'll probably try the Grill next time for some variety. This visit was prompted by the irresistable urge to get up and away from the desk, even though the excitement of canned soup was waiting in my bottom drawer. I enjoyed a cheesesteak sandwich with mushrooms and a cup of chili. Both were tasty and provided good value for the price (total about $8). Not the best cheesesteak nor the best chili I've ever eaten, but I enjoyed them. Trust me, when you are trapped in the urban rat maze that is an office park on a circle drive, you're ecstatic to find anything not dispensed from a vending machine. The service was friendly and very quick. I waited only about 5 minutes, and if that's too long for you, you can phone ahead and they'll have it waiting. Nice.

Great food, great service, great prices. Love the cheesesteak and fries, especially.

Jae's is a popular deli in the Gateway Drive business park. They have 2 locations in this area and both are identical, just Jae's Grill is newer. This spot is a typical lunch time spot. They have hot and cold sandwiches and daily specials in the $6-$7 range that include chips or fries and a drink. They have wedge type steak fries and are usually really good--everyone loves the fries there. While the food is just average to slightly above average, what Jae's has going for them is service. They do a lot of business daily, but always seem to remember people. They are very fast--you can get in and out in 15 minutes for carryout. No matter how long the line, lunch can always be done in under 30 minutes. When I eat here alone, I usually phone in my order and then leave right away. The food is ready when I get there 5-10 mins later and I can always walk right up and pay and leave because they have someone dedicated to servicing the phone orders. There's another Deli in the same business park that offers a salad bar, and it is good for salads, fruit, and deli sandwiches--better then Jae's. But if you want a hot sub, something grilled, or fries, go to Jae's.

Tucked in a little corner off of Samuel Morse Drive, the service is very fast and friendly. Food is really good and my friend can't stop talking about their chicken cheesesteaks and french fries....Prices aren't too bad and I've always been very satisfied with my orders. Not the greatest of delis, but the food is good and so are the people. I still love Aviation Deli compared to this place, but Jae's is definitely a must-try. Wonderful little spot, especially if you work in the Columbia Gateway Business Park.

We love Jae's Deli. I have been eating there for years. The sandwiches are great. My favs are the chicken salad club ,the ocean wave wrap (shrimp salad wrap), and the philly cheesesteak sandwich. They are always so friendly when I go there and remember that I frequent the restaurant. They are usually very prompt, as mentioned in the other reviews. Their fries are yummy big steak fries and you get a big bag of them when you order. This is a great local business to support!

Jae's employees are very friendly and aim to please. The food is very good and overall a decent value (especially the specials). I eat here about once/twice a week bc I can walk from work. My favs include the tuna melt, California wrap, the shrimp platter (get there early or they will run out) and the fries (a huge bag that is hard to finish).

Work right down the street from here on the Gateway so we come here a lot. Lunch specials are the way to go and good at a good price. Food is really good. I freakin love turkey clubs and their wrap is awesome....a little pricey and on be small side but really good. Check out their lunch specials they change it up and always have something good

We took lunch at this deli while visiting a partner company. They took us here because the day was busy and it was in the same complex as their office. This is clearly one of those establishments set up to primarily cater to the clientele in or around their little business campus. It opens for breakfast, closes by 3:30 PM and is not open on weekends. So the hours give a clue with regard to its target market. It was starting to get busy when we walked in. The exterior appearance fit into the development of which it was a part. The interior was relatively plain in appearance but it was clean. There was only limited seating available and we were fortunate to find a couple of free tables at which the six of us could sit. It took good timing as we got our food when a couple of other parties were leaving. The menu was what you would expect of a deli. As one would anticipate, it was a walk-up-and-order format. The person waiting on us behind the counter was polite and efficient. I had the Power Salad with Grilled Chicken. It was actually a solidly good salad. My colleagues also all seemed satisfied with their choices. The prices were reasonable as most items were under $10. Overall, for what it is, this place is a pretty good choice for lunch if you happen to be in the area. It is nothing elegant but you can get some basic choices that are common midday fare. The atmosphere is pretty utilitarian as most of the patrons come within walking distance for a quick noon break. The prices seem quite reasonable so it is a decent bargain. I think it would be well described as a convenient choice for a quick in-and-out meal that won't be memorable. However, at the same time, it won't leave you hungry and won't break the bank.

Very clean and lots of seating! Very busy during lunch hour however they were preparing each order very quickly and it was arriving hot and fresh! When I walked inside 2 ladies were at cash register taking customers orders and 3 ladies plus a man were preparing and cooking orders! I believe this deli owned by nice asian people! My 8" Philly Cheese Steak Sub Combo was $7.99 plus Tax ($8.46 after Tax) which is very reasonable for the quality of their sandwich and amount of Fries and Medium sized fountain drink! I will come back to try other foods they have on their menu!

LOVE this place, the cheesesteaks are the best and the employees are always friendly!

So I hate to be the Debbi downer of Columbia's business park, but I would say that the food quality of Jae's deli is average at best. Their breakfast sandwiches appear to use the absolute cheapest ingredients that are available. It's almost as if they searched for the cheapest bread they could find. The reason why everyone is so excited about this place, isn't because of the quality or the service, it's simply because they exist. If you feel like abusing your arteries before 9:00 am on a Friday to make yourself feel incrementally better about your life, Jae's exists. If you're swamped with meetings all day and can't afford to take more than a 15 minute lunch break, Jae's exists. What bothers me about this establishment is that they take full advantage of their small monopoly. Having no competition in the immediate area has resulted in an uninspired menu that takes every single shortcut possible. Instead of taking pride in the food they are serving their community, Jae's has opted to sling greasy, mediocre food at it's guests.. but hey, at least they do it with a smile and at least they exist.

The two best parts of Jae's are the location and the service! the location in the middle of Columbia Gateway and their efficiency in turning out orders even during a busy lunch rush makes this one of the only options for a quick lunch for people working in Gateway. If you want even quicker service you can call ahead with your order. The food is ok. Probably about the same quality as if you brought a sandwich from home. Typical deli meats and salads. The nice thing is they will make you just about anything they have the ingredients for and have never made a mistake with one of my customized orders. I probably wouldn't seek this place out but the staff is very friendly and the location can't be beat making it a great option for those days when you need a quick bite.

Place is a zero. Quality of the food is atrocious. It feels like you are eating prison food. The prices are ridiculous. Stay away.

Awesome little deli. The service is quite fast, the food is quite good for a little deli, and the prices are well within reason. They seem to be known locally by their fries, although I don't recognize anything special about them myself. Daily lunch specials.

This place is no secret to those who work around it everyday. Awesome food, fast service and you definitely get the bang for your buck. I have gone here twice for lunch already and only been working in the area for two weeks. It's hard not to elaborate on what seems to have already been said in previous reviews. While I have heard there cold sandwiches are great, I have gone with the Philly Cheese Steak both times. They toast the Hoagie style role, load you up with juicy (and greasy) meat and get a nice coating of cheese on there and then add any goodies you want like sauteed mushrooms, onions, or peppers. I payed like $8 bucks and some change for that full Philly cheese steak sandwich, a drink and an order of potato wedge fries. Their fries get a paragraph of their own as they were superb. Crispy and golden brown and their single serving is easily enough for two maybe even three people to share. No matter what entree you get here, make sure at least one time you give these a shot, you will not be disappointed. Seating: If you come during lunch time you may have a small issue finding seating as this is a popular little place. Especially from 11am - 1pmish. They have like 6 tables in the center and tables lined against the windows. A large amount of the lunch traffic take their food to go. Parking: Not really an issue. The Deli is on the edge of a 200+ parking lot for the surrounding office buildings in the area.
