I love bringing people here and talking with the family that owns this business, ..one of my favorite coffee spots ;)

Absolutely endearing--if only there was one in Baltimore! I wish they would open later too; their hours are only until 8pm and 6pm on the weekends. How I would love to hang out there all night on their cozy little couches, soak up on wifi, and sip on their marvelous turtle dove latte. The bulgogi tacos did not disappoint! If you're used to spicy things, I would say, just go ahead and order the spicy pork, rather than the sweet beef. The sweet beef I would say is just the standard/normal bulgogi, but the pork has a special grilled flavor to it. Overall, I was so pleasantly charmed by the place; it does remind me of Riverside Coffee, you do not feel pressure to buy things and there are a spate of options to keep you satisfied if you decided to spend a day there! There are outlets near the tables, bathrooms are well-kept, and the owners are really personable and nice.

I really enjoy this place every time I come. The coffee is alway fresh and the service is great because it 's locally owned and they care. The greeting I get is not the like an artificial greeting that one is trained to do at the big chain coffee shops but rather you're greet by the actual owner with genuine appreciation and recognition. I'm grateful for their business keeping Maryland money in Maryland not Seattle. Not to mention the amazing service. Keep up the great work Anna!

The cappuccino was ok, but not great. The Turkey Powerhouse was probably the worst sandwich I have ever had. The person running the front counter. within the time it took for one customer behind me to order, forgot that I had ordered a cappuccino. An unfortunately 'meh' experience.

My iced cafe americano was yummy. Got the beef bulgogi platter and it was tasty. Nice lunch size portion with salad and rice. My hubby got flavored ice coffee and enjoyed it also.

Nice decor, poor location, average coffee. Anyways, I came here on a month long visit back to Howard County from the west coast. I know everyone seems to want to support small coffee shops and businesses, and I'm no different I suppose. That being said, I do expect to get better coffee at a small coffee shop than at one of the big chains. The first thing that I realized was that this place is hard to find if you're not actively looking for it. I pretty much stumbled on this coffee shop because my family was eating lunch at the nearby Thai restaurant in the same complex. Naturally, I was intrigued by the sight of a new non-chain coffee shop in Howard County since there is a shortage of them around. After we ate lunch, we meandered over to Anna's with a 30 second walk. Upon entering, I was pretty impressed with their interior design aesthetic. Friendly and warm, and the store is actually quite large inside. It's not going to win any awards for coffee shop chic, but it's pretty nice in there. We then proceeded to order our coffee, and we chose to try a couple lattes to get a feel for the level of coffee here. Our drinks came out quickly, and they were piping hot! Always a plus in my book. I hate drinking those lukewarm lattes that some shops dispense because they fail to heat the milk enough. While the drink was nice and hot, the coffee itself wasn't very different from every other coffee shop in the world. Not bad, just not GOOD. So, Anna's is worth visiting if you're close or if you want a coffee shop with a casual/warm milieu, but if you're a little picky about your coffee, this place may not cut it. By the way, Anna, the owner, is a very nice lady :)

The breakfast sandwich was great! I went with the croissant and won!

Awesome coffee shop and cafe. Brewed coffee, food, pastries are great. We've also started purchasing our beans here for home brewing--yummy!

I'm opting for the higher review mostly because it has a very good cafe feel. I met a coworker a couple weeks ago at this place. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The coffee and breakfast sandwich were both good. The breakfast selection was not anything exceptional, but you have a few choices of bread, cheese, egg, and meats for the breakfast sandwiches. The staff were also nice. Like I said, I might have gone with a 3.5, but it's nice to go to a cafe/roastery that fits the bill.

Coffee places never seem to last in this space, but I hope that this one does. So many options on the menu including breakfast and lunch. Only had a muffin but it was good, and they warmed it up just the right amount. Chai lattes and coffee also very good.

Local gem hidden in a strip mall. All coffee is roasted there, and there is a pretty good selection of coffee to chose from. They also have breakfast and lunch food, including a few Korean dishes.

The local coffee shop scene gets a new roast and a new take on international bulgogi now that Anna's Coffe Roastery has opened in Columbia. Anna's follows a line of local coffee shops that roasts its own coffee and sells a line of breakfast and lunch options until the end of the work day. They're getting nice comments online about the coffee, but I went right for the flashy stuff: bulgogi tacos. This is staple trend in places like Los Angeles, but the bulgogi taco is a nice lunch option here in Howard County. It's the cousin of the bulgogi panini at Riverside Coffee -- and a similar use of Korean barbecue to head onto an international scene. Anna's sells two bulgogi versions -- a "sweet' version with beef and a "spicy" version with pork. They're thin-sliced meat, charred nicely and served on a corn tortilla with rice, letture and sour cream. In the end, neither is very sweet or spicy. The main flavors are the meat and their sauces, which were rich and offset nicely by the lettuce crunch. Like Riverside's panini, Anna's tacos are aimed at a general audience. It's a nice mix of Mexican and Korean favors, enticing to anyone who likes a little barbecue. My friend and I split two of the $8 taco plates, and I went spicy when he let me decide which of the final two tacos to finish. If anything, I could have taken more spicy too. A little kimchi, even on the side or as an optional topping? Or some pickled Mexican vegetables to add just a little zip?

Delicious! Hubs and I went here a little while back because I heard about the bulgogi tacos and had to try them! They tasted good, different, because usually bulgogi isn't in a taco but I definitely enjoyed it and will be going back for more. Wile there, thought I'd try the coffee since I'm always trying to find a place as good as Gregory's in NYC. This place is fabulous!!! Their caramel Mach is good enough to hold me over until my next trip to NYC and is much better than Starbucks. The hubs got a sandwich and that was mediocre. Taste was ok, but the meat inside the sandwich was practically nonexistent. Well stick to Bon fresco for sandwiches..,

I enjoyed this place. The coffee is great and the food was good. I think the service could use some improvement though, we were not greeted when we walked in.

The coffee here is absolutely perfect no matter what I order. Highly recommended!

I love this place! Their daily lunch specials are usually interesting, and the food here has always been tasty. We also tend to buy a pound or so of whole bean coffee to drink at home, and all of the varieties we've tried from here have been good. Their beans are surprisingly moist, which I think makes a DELICIOUS coffee. Anna's also tends to supplement the fact that they have a limited selection of in-house pastries with an interesting selection of other sweets. They change it up, but I've tried some very tasty, and new to me, European cookies and chocolates from here.

Small, cozy coffee house with a huge variety on their menu. Very good chai, though it was a bit sweet for my taste. Their soups, chicken noodle and turkey wild rice were very tasty and well seasoned. They made me a veggie sandwich with some eggs and a Ruben for my fiancee, and we both walked out full and happy. They have bottled drinks and bars, fresh baked pastries and lots of sandwich options. Their layout was roomy and cozy and their hours are great! Highly recommend if you need a quick bite to stop by.

The staff was so friendly in this warm and cozy café! I enjoyed my tasty latte and breakfast bagel in a plump leather chair. There are so many good choices here! I'm definitely coming back.

I stopped by here this morning with a coworker for my morning coffee. Anna's Coffee Roastery is located in a strip mall and is rather easy to find. Upon entering the shop the first things that I noticed were the large number of coffee bins with different country names behind the counter and also their large industrial coffee roaster. I was happy to see that roaster as it meant that the name of their shop was truly accurate. Once you walked in a little further you could see a large display case with pastries where you ordered and opposite that was a stand with chips and other salty snacks. All of their menus were hand written on chalkboards and both their coffee and their food sounded interesting. What I really liked about the coffee menu was that all of their espresso drinks were priced at single, double and triple shots of espresso. That makes so much more sense than the traditional small, medium and large as I know exactly what I am getting. On this day I decided to go with a triple Americano for my drink. After only a short wait my drink was ready for me and after receiving it my coworker and I left the shop. Whenever it had cooled down a bit and I was finally able to taste it the flavoring of it was both smooth and strong. I also could detect a slight nuttiness to the flavor after which I realized that in a shop like that I probably could have gotten the coffees country of origin as well as the roast that they were using. The reason that I say that is that I bet that the slight nuttiness had to do with where it came from and not anything that they did. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I really enjoyed this shop and all of the coffee that they had and if I lived in the area I could see myself becoming a regular.

Went here and ordered a Triple Americano to wake up in the morning. Good strong coffee at a competitive price. They grind their own coffee beans right there as well which my coworker who I was with was very into that. Their breakfast sandwich menu of eggs/meats sounds intriguing as well. Definitely would be back here to get some more coffee and stay for a breakfast sandwich.

I am always so disappointed when I scope a coffee spot that's highly recommended on Yelp and find it lacking, such was the case with Anna's. Just walking in already I was put off. Not sure why exactly, but the vide was wrong. I ordered a cappuccino and an egg sandwich on wheat. Unfortunately, the cap tasted watered down and the sandwich was blah. The "toast" wasn't toasted and the egg tasted like it had just come from a microwave. I will not go back.

Came here after getting my MRI to get coffee because I knew I was in for a headache with rush hour traffic. There was a lot of coffee to choose from. I ended up getting a caramel macchiato. The staff (cashier) was friendly. There were a few customers sitting inside and they seemed quite pleased. The caramel macchiato was good. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. I would go back here again.

As i am continuing my search for the perfect coffee shop (good coffee, good food, good eye candy ;)) I decided to check out Anna's.. It had two of the three things I am looking for.. They have a very extensive list of coffee flavors sold by the pound and a decent sized list of warm drinks to order.. On my first visit i opted for a regular coffee, a breakfast sandwich and pastry.. All of which were delicious! I dont think i will be making this my go to coffee shop but when im in the area i may stop in for a drink.. The hunt continues..

Before we begin... let me just stay I haven't had the food here (which looks really good and interesting and might be worth a return visit for me) so this review is purely on the coffee, store, and service. Anyways, after having brunch with a friend nearby, we decided to go get coffee. Since we both didn't know that part of Columbia that well, we did a quick Yelp search and found Anna's Coffee Roastery. It was close by and it was a local small business and it looked like an interesting place to check out. The location is in a strip mall and kind of tricky to find. I actually drove right past it the first time around. You'll find though that the coffee shop is a lot larger on the inside than its storefront suggests. It's interior is mostly a cute coffee shop but also has a partly utilitarian deli/cafe-ish feel. It has enough of the coffee shop vibe to it though to satisfy most people. There is a pretty impressive selection of coffee beans you can buy and take home with you, including the highly-priced and highly-prized Kona coffee. However, we did not get the beans but opted for a drip coffee and a latte. We also had planned on getting some sort of pastry or dessert to share but their selection was seriously lacking that day. On the brighter side, the cashier was friendly and willing to help and answer questions. The latte came out freshly made and hot. However, the drip coffee is pre-made and stored in those insulated carafes. There's nothing wrong with that I suppose... but having the coffee prepared fresh through french press, Chemex, pour over, or other methods would have been a more welcome addition to Howard Country's somewhat so-so coffee scene. Unfortunately, the coffee was a little on the disappointing side. I didn't try my friend's latte but she said it was pretty so-so. My drip was on the watery side. It's too bad... Anna's has so much potential to be something great but at least on my visit, fell a little on the flat side.

I really like this place! Good atmosphere and courteous staff. Tasty food and very nicely presented. Only one complaint: too much salt in the tuna salad, but that did not deter me from returning. The California Club is delicious. Comfy seating area. I will be a regular.

This place is a small gem in strip mall area. Run by a lovely Korean couple, they had delicious Bagels and Lox. Their regular breakfast sandwiches looked great and their lunch menu looked also great. They also have a Bulgogi specialty as this little cafe is run by a lovely Korean couple. Free wifi, plenty of places to sit. Very comfortable. Highly recommend it for a quick cappuccino or to eat. An ideal alternative to the chains and also a great place to get work done.

Decided to stop by on the way to pick up my brother - and great choice. Been here once before to get smoothie but I've never tried the food. So today, I decided to try some stuff. Grilled chipotle chicken panini and spicy pork bulgogi taco. Panini was good, nothing too special or out of ordinary. I liked the sauce and the onion + jalapeño combo. Taco is a must try. It's not too spicy (at least for me but I don't really do spicy food). In addition a lot comes out, and there was two of us eating and was full with half of sandwich and one taco. (Three comes out) Taco was a bit dry though, I would've liked more juiciness/sauce. Good music selection, nice interior. I like this place because it doesn't try to do so many fusion with korean food. It has its own brand. Recommend, but price point is a bit high for me like all other cafes.

Coffee, breakfast, and lunch here were great!!! Probably the best wrap I've had in a long time and the creme brûlée coffee was so delicious.

Great breakfast sandwiches and coffee... and ok salads. I really love the staff and I am glad to support a local business and see that they are thriving in kind of a difficult space. Centre Park has some hidden alcoves and pockets of retail shops and this is where you will find Anna's.

I have found myself here more often than I would have thought after my first visit. I'm often in the area for work and my doctor is across the street. Plus, it's the only non-chain coffee shop in the vicinity. So, their coffee is pretty good, they have a lot of variety which is nice. I had a smoothie one day which was very tasty but probably not actually containing any real fruit. Another morning I had a very tasty pumpkin muffin of which I could only really eat the top half because the inside was like moist bread crumbs- it still tasted great but made very difficult to eat. I would avoid the Italian dressing on the salads, it's straight vinegar, or at least they didn't shake an oil and vinegar dressing before putting it on my salad. Overall, they get points for friendly and quick service, plus convenience and pretty good coffee.

Anna's has a coffee roaster in the corner on the right as you walk in. There are 50 pound bags of beans all over the store. Always a good sign. There are five varieties of very fresh drip coffee (including decaf). I tried two of the pastries. They were both good and tasty. The WiFi is fast. There is a quiet area with plenty of tables and plugs. The ambient music is 80s easy listening on a 45 minute loop (which is actually difficult to ignore if you are from that era; for me it was the only reason I didn't give it five stars).

I come here every Sunday before church. What a great hidden gem in Columbia! The coffee is great and the breakfast sandwiches are amazing! The service is always speedy and friendly. She now recognizes me when I come in. I love Anna's!!

So another update on Anna's... Better service this morning. She even willingly gave me some butter for my delicious banana nut muffin. Maybe they read my last review. I really can't avoid coming here because I'm always in this area. So I think I'll accept some of the flaws and focus on the positives, which are this is a comfy little neighborhood coffeehouse with great music being streamed through the speakers. I mean anyone that plays Norah Jones is a friend of mine!

I'm sitting here listening to low volume classical music during a weekday lunch. The patrons are also quiet and several are working on their laptops. The beef bulgogi platter had enough sweetened beef, adequate rice, and a small salad. I'd declare it very good for a coffee shop though average for a Korean restaurant. They have about a half dozen brewed coffees. They are good and many condiments are handy. I'd say the coffee is average for a coffee shop. The place is clean and the staff friendly and attentive. On future trips I'll try the pork bulgogi and breakfast.

Stopped here for a quick lunch on a weekend. Looks like a nice place to hang out, which I guess is the point of a coffee house! We didn't get any coffee though, just some soft drinks with lunch. I had the spicy bulgogi tacos, which were pretty good. It was your typical pork bulgogi served in a soft corn tortilla with some lettuce and tomato and rice. I liked it. Not really spicy, but a good flavor, and why not be in a taco? SO had a panini of some kind, which she liked. Friendly service, pop music. I'd go back.

Excellent lattes, and French Roast coffee! Clean, serene environment and just good for chilling with a cup and book. A little off the beaten path in Columbia but not if you know where you're heading.

I was in the mood for a hot drink and so glad I stopped in. This place is close to my house, so I've been missing out for sure. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks great. My drink was delicious and hot, but not mouth-scalding hot. A fun and cozy place to relax with nice music playing at just the right volume.

  • Lou D.

If you just want coffee, I found Anna's to be mediocre. Latte was weak, and my wife's iced latte was the same. Bean Hollow in Old Ellicott City is far better. We didn't have any food here, so cannot comment on that.

+ Lots of options + Soup and sandwich were OK (I ate my whole sandwich in a state of regret for not going to Jimmy Johns next door) + Comfortable leather chairs x2 - Horrendous music (soulless midi-piano pop/Americana covers) completely ruined my hipster-
