We first went here not long after they opened because we had a coupon, but since then, we keep returning again and again for so many reasons. Let's start with the fact that the nicest guys in the world run this place...always friendly and funny. The service is fast but we always find ourselves standing around gabbing for a minute or so too. But, of course we wouldn't return again and again if the food wasn't completely awesome, which it is. We've had many different things on the menu but the thing that we order the very most is the pit corned beef. My husband has eaten reubens all over this town and he says that this is the very best he's ever had. And that's with it not even being grilled! Lastly, how can you not love a joint that always offers up scraps to your dog? We love taking our dog to places where we can sit outside and eat and this is by far Archie's favorite place. This kind, gentle natured pup turns into a rabid dingo when there are pit beef scraps around....thanks to these guys. So, go! What are you waiting for???

Hands down the best pit beef in the area. But don't stop there, their specialty sandwiches are as tasty as they are creative. We've been working our way through the menu and haven't found one we don't love yet. The Reuben is wildly popular with my friends and the Italian sausage wrapped in pit ham is as good as it sounds. Unexpectedly, the best thing on the menu is the mozzarella sticks. My only beef with them (see what I did there?) is they aren't quite as careful as you'd like with special orders. If you special order something, check your food before you leave. Pickled jalapeños aren't the same as fried jalapeños!

Great food! I had the breakfast burger and it was delicious. The fries were crisp like I requested. This is a hidden gem that deserves to shine!

This place OUTSTANDING! Their pit beef is top notch and the fries are great too. Can't wait to go back to try the pulled pork. I hope this place sticks around!

Finally a Baltimore style pit beef place in the area. Pit beef was great, but just a tad bit skimpy on the meat (compared to the "Cookout" in Rosedale). The rye bread wasn't the Baltimore style real rye, but it was ok. Can't wait to try the cheesesteak sub! Hope the place is successful.

Absolutely delicious, fresh food. Went and had lunch today and was treated to friendly service and a tasty, filling meal. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

The pit beef here is amazing! Cooked the way you like it. Flavorful, tender and a huge portion. The fries are exceptionally good and more than I could eat. I'll return here again. By far the best pit beef place in Baltimore!

Got a coupon in a mailer a week after they opened, and the place is on point. It's small, and definitely gets busy for lunch, but that's what I look for in any place I go. I've been in food service for about a decade, and if I walk in to a restaurant for lunch, and it's not busy, I turn around and leave. Sure, you're going to have to wait a few minutes to get your food, or sit down (they have seats out on the sidewalk on warm days now), but it's a very small amount of time and worth the wait. I've eaten there about 7-8 times so far, and other than a very personal opinion issue, the place is stellar. I'm personally a fan of the "Pit Beef Cheesesteak" which a lot of people order. It's a true to form Philly style steak sub made with pit beef. The best part is that actually use cheese whiz on it. You can opt to get normal cheeses like American or provolone, but if you know what a real Philly cheesesteak is, you'll know what I'm talking about already. Overall I'm giving them five stars for several reasons. They're going in a great direction for a new local restaurant. I've always supported local families, and people opening local restaurants ( one, if not, two of the owners graduated Hereford High years back), and I like to see owners get involved with their customers to see if they like everything. In closing, something I was going to put into the body of the review, but I feel that it's better as a closing point, is they have without a doubt the best cinnamon sugar sweet potato fries that I've had in my life. I make sweet potato fries at home, and still don't think they give you enough for the money, but then again I eat like a sumo wrestler (I also work out 5-6 days a week). I'd recommend the Pit Beef Cheesesteak, cinnamon sugar sweet potato fries, and just get a cup of water. There's no point washing something this good down with a soda. I hope this summed up any questions you've had about this place.

It's so hard to find a place that makes a really good cheesesteak and The Bull Pen makes the best I've had in a very long time! The service is fast and the food is delicious! We haven't tried everything on the menu yet... But so far we haven't been disappointed.

So many menus choices. Everything is fresh and delish. The staff are kind and friendly. I am sooo addicted. Great slaw and ribs.

Good quality meats (coming from my husband, who knows meat). Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Facilities could be better.

First of all, if I was rating the restaurant on customer service alone, I would give them 5 stars! The guy who took my order was so informative and helpful (he was older). That aside, the pit beef tasted somewhat different than the ordinary cheesesteak. The steak had a sweet taste, which I'm not sure I liked. I also think it would have tasted better if the cheesesteak was on a crispy, chewy Italian sub roll. Instead, it was on a (sort of) thick roll that was not toasted, and for about $9, I'm not sure it was worth it. All that being said, I would love to go back soon to try some of the other items on the menu. I believe they had menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
