Loved the Sexy jalapeno but their drunken noodle was shameful. Come here for sushi and sake only. Sushis are amazingly creative, artsy, and delicious. They are quite expensive but definitely good for special occasions. I love the flowing silk robes the waitresses wear. The inside decour is a sight to see. Like entering a japanese flower garden. Just a lovely place to dine with that special someone!

Really attentive service with loads of recommendations. The Victoria's Secret roll and the Sex on the beach app were amazing. Jalapeno poppers stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese..can't go wrong with that. Our server was speedy and efficient keeping our glasses full and making sure we had everything we needed

Pretty darn good sushi. Great chef selection - fun new rolls. I happen to love the Crazy Girl. A little pricey for what it is, but it's one of the few sushi places nearby. Was very happy that they had gluten free soy sauce for my sister who's gluten-free.

I love the sushi at this place. Very good selection and very fresh fish. I made the mistake of ordering Pad Thai and it was less than tasty. The chicken was mushy and flavor was too sweet. Next time I will stick with sushi!

Delicious food, beautiful decor, friendly staff, and prompt food delivery. My friend and I loved this place. We came in for lunch and were not expecting such a lovely experience! I ordered the vegetable hibachi which looked small but in reality was a perfect portion. It also came with soup, salad and white rice. My friend ordered three sushi rolls which she loved. Admittedly the only I remember was the lasagna roll. I would definitely recommend and would come again!

The selection here is extensive and a little overwhelming! Came here as part of a group of 8 for Thursday dinner, and we were seated immediately. There were a few other patrons dining when we got there, but no other big groups. Interior has the classic/traditional Japanese decor - dark wood, the female servers are clad in lovely kimonos and little maneki neko figurines line the entrance counter. Most of my friends opted for their own entrees/sushi rolls, but 3 of us decided to split a sushi boat (the option meant for 3 people - Grand Katana Boat 1) and a gyoza appetizer. Less work on our part in terms of choosing, since it's chef's pick. :] Our server was quick to bring out drinks and take our orders, and was not so subtle about judging one of my friend's roll selection (some roll that apparently had a lot of scallions?), which everyone found to be hilarious. Good to know that the staff here are willing to offer up their own opinion about the food if they think you might not enjoy it...but our friend was stubborn in his choice. Miso soup & salad comes with a sushi roll order, both pretty typical of what you would expect. Gyoza (5 total) was also nothing that special. Everyone's orders came out pretty quickly, first the soba/noodle entrees, then the individual rolls, and finally our sushi boat: 16 pieces of sashimi, 16 pieces of sushi, and 2 rolls. It was MORE than enough for our group of 3. The quality was great, all the cuts were tender and creamy and delicious. Despite our best efforts, we were kinda struggling near the end to finish it all. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their entrees as well. All in all, I would definitely recommend the sushi rolls. :D Tip: check in on Yelp and get 12% off your meal! (Awesome deal on the sushi boat hehehe)

My family lives right by Katana, and I remember when it opened way back when. I was just a wee little thing who appreciated a good ol' California roll. I used to think Katana was the bees knees. I would beg my parents to take me there. And when I was old enough to drive, I would take myself there whenever possible - skipping school to get their hibachi box, grabbing a roll on my way to my after school job, you know - typical high school stuff. Now that I've experienced sushi in all of its glory, I have to say - Katana is still pretty good. Mostly notably, the prices are AMAZING and the service is pretty quick. The overall decor is very nice too. I've taken a few of my friends from DC there when they've come to visit good ol' western HoCo, and they have all enjoyed it. The reason why I am giving Katana 3 stars is because they really are just 'A-OK.' I've ordered sashimi and it has come out semi frozen. What the heck? Also, last time I was there, the staff started cleaning up/closing down - totally acceptable since we came in around 9:15 p.m. However what was UNACCEPTABLE was that the staff starting tossing bleach on the floor - literally pouring it from a jug - and the overpowering smell really ruined my meal. This wasn't the first time I've felt rushed out of the restaurant. TL;DR - nice little Clarksville establishment but not a 'hot spot' destination. Service is meh.

Love this place. The sushi is so fresh and artfully prepared. The prices are great. There is something for everyone. It is so beautiful inside. Service can be a tiny bit slow because they are so busy but besides that there are no complaints. Been here a few times and can't wait to return.

So I thought we were going to Katana Sushi which have been to before but when we pulled in the parking lot I realized it was a different restaurant! Just one is Katana Sushi and then this one is Katana Japanese cuisine! Lol anyway we went anyway and loved it! We had three rolls and that was plenty! Green Dragon, Koto, and Crazy Girl. Happy to have found another good sushi place!

I have had eaten a lot of sushi on both coasts of this great country. Katana's sushi is very good, although it is a little pricey. This place has what you expect a good sushi restaurant to have- fresh fish, creative rolls, etc. The decor is very nice- service was good the few times I have eaten there (i usually get take out). I recommend Katana when in the area- its not my go to place when I want the best sushi but you won't be disappointed. Also they now serve Thai food and other noodle dishes. Those are very good and very reasonably priced.

Food quality has really gone down. Tempura is greasy and yesterday there was an ant in our food. They tried to convince us the ant flew in with us.

Fantastic food, substantially subpar service. Bad part first. I went a few days ago with my mother and my sister for a nice family meal over the holidays. Atmosphere is nice, I had plenty of time to take it all in during the near 10 minutes before we were greeted. Our first encounter with a staff member, other than the host was a gentleman that, "just wanted to get our drink orders quick." After 5 minutes for 3 waters, what I assume was our waitress appeared. I say assume because at no point was anyone introduced to us, and 3 people took different parts of our order. We waited quite a long time, 30 minutes, before the food came, and it didn't even kind of come out all at once. Good part. Having said that it was worth some of the wait. We ordered a couple of different rolls each and shared to diversify. My mother had the Sky dragon roll and one with Mango and shrimp that were fantastic. All in all, it was an alright dining experience, with great food, but the service put a damper on the experience. I hope they step it up, I would like to go back.

Decorations a bit tacky and my friend's psudo-fresh fish looks a bit slimy (totally not cool). I ordered the eel on rice entree (which is hard to screw up) and was semi-satisfied with my order. It was a little bit of eel and a lot of rice. I'm still hungry.. (uhh what?)

A hidden gem in Montgomery County. I've had business trips out to DC, and I'll go out of my way -- and stay with my in-laws in the area -- just for fresh, delicious sushi at Katana. Rolls and sashimi are basically art on a plate. The presentation is always lovely, service attentive and the portions fairly huge. I would go so far as to say it stands up to sushi in the NY/NJ area, for sure.

The sushi for two comes in a big boat. We had two for a family of 5. Plus some edamame and tempura. Delicious!

This place was a real surprise! We learned our lesson about getting sushi outside of urban areas a few years ago after getting really groadie days old sushi in Frederick. But this place must have a high turnover of diners, as the sushi was really fresh. They have super creative specialty rolls, and while maybe not "authentic" sushi, they are beautiful to look at, and very tasty. The service was attentive, prompt and friendly. The decor is a little faux Japanese, but very clean (including bathrooms). Dining area a little dark, but better than too bright! Will go back!

This is the best sushi place around. Period. I have eaten at the Katana in Mt. Airy and in Annapolis and the quality is extremely high.

Had a great dinner experience. The food was awesome and was prepared very quickly. The food tasted very fresh. Service was great as well. Would definitely come again.

It's hard to find delicious authentic Japanese sushi. However (warning: generalization approaching), for the vast majority of today's dining crowd, most people crave creative and large rolls - this explains the reason why so many of these types of restaurants have been opening up in the past few years. based upon all sushi restaurants of this type, this is one of the best places I've tried. The sashimi pieces were all very tender, and their roll selection is to say the least, vast, but slightly overlapping at times. Although all the rolls my friends and I ordered tasted very good, it would be great to see some rolls that truly stand out, rolls that have a distinctive and lasting taste. This was one of the most affordable places I have ever ordered a sushi boat, and probably one of the cheapest places for sushi rolls overall in the Baltimore Co. / HoCo region. I am looking forward to their continual improvement, as their sushi menu constantly expands.

I have eaten here 3 times and Ive gotten sick 2 times. The sushi is not bad but I got sick the last 2 times I went :(.

I'm so glad there's a sushi place so close to me! The food is a little pricey though. I haven't had a bad time when I've ordered sushi. The atmosphere is good and quiet definitely can hold a conversation. The waitresses are a little slow with coming back to check on things. And when they bring you the check, the definitely pop back constantly when you're trying to relax and catch up with friends.

Nothing special. Your normal sushi joint but it is quite hidden. Clarksville lacks restaurants so I default to this sometimes when my gf and I are hungry and looking for a place to eat. The price is a bit overpriced for my taste...

I've only had sushi at 2 other places before Katana and this place is by far the best. The environment is really family-friendly. The space is fairly large (with 2 big party rooms that can hold up to 14 people), but the environment is very intimate and chill at the same time. There are lot of loyal customers from the community who know the waitresses and the owners really well. Amy & Jimmy (the owners) also give a lot of menu items on the house for their favorite customers! Compared to other sushi restaurants in Columbia, (Sushi Sono, Sushi King in particular), Katana definitely has more variety in their Chef's Special Rolls. My personal favorites are the Crazy Girl, the American Eagle, Butterfly Roll and Jumbo Crab Roll. The only complaint I have about their specialty rolls, is that over 70% of them have shrimp or lobster tempura & people who are health conscious don't have as large of a selection of rolls to choose from. They also offer a HUGE selection of non-sushi items in their menu for people who may be averse to raw fish. On the note of raw fish, their fish is very high quality. Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail are always fresh and a good way to go if you've never had raw fish before. So check out the Clarksville location or the ones that have recently opened up in Elkridge & Annapolis!

Pleasantly surprised and for the most part, an absolute delight. For roughly $11, you can get three six piece rolls or you can get a huge bento box with teriakki, dumplings, cali roll, and some fruit. My stomach was singing in delight when I saw how large our order was. Two lunch specials for roughly $20 bucks. SCORE ** Their menu is extensive, the fish is fresh, reasonably priced *compared to Sushi Sono in Columbia. I took off one star for service. We were one of three tables in the entire restaurant but it still took our server ten minutes to get the check to us and another five minutes to bring our receipt. In total, we were there for an hour and fifteen minutes. Too long for a lunch break. Definitely add Katana to your list of go to restaurants. Minus the snail time service, I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be returning.

Terrible service. They got the order all wrong. The diet coke was the only thing they got right.

Last night, I ordered take out sushi and was not impressed at all. I ordered the dragon maki roll, rainbow roll, spicy tuna, and spicy salmon. The rice inside the sushi was not fresh at all! It tasted like it had been left over from a batch made the day before. Though the fish was fresh, the old, overcooked rice made it taste awful. It was disappointing to say the least, especially since it's on the pricier side. This is my third experience having sushi at this place and I have now vowed never to order from here again. The last time I ordered sushi from Katana, I remember thinking I got my fill, not the best sushi, but decent. This time around, just plain bad. Not worth it.

Love the sushi. Waitresses will stare at you the entire time though, but if you don't mind that go for it.
(3)Jennifer S.
I've been going to Katana for several years, and the sushi here has always been delicious. The fish have always been fresh, I've never gotten anything fishy-smelling or bad-tasting. The servers are always so sweet and remember me and my husband, and they've always been prompt and professional. The sushi comes out in these very artistic designs, not just on a plain plate served in two rows. This is a great place to take a date!
(5)Dustin A.
For anyone who is relatively new to sushi this place is for you, but if you know what real sushi should be, its a giant let down like most places around here. I'm ready for some authenticity with Japanese sushi, and this isn't delivering it. The owners of these places just don't have the same appreiacition for ingredients as a real Japanese-owned sushi restaurant. I've had an obviously bad cut of tuna here that looked and smelled like if had been kept on the floor... the obsesive attention to ingredients and details just isn't there.
(2)Alyson R.
For sushi, I love this place. Whether it's the menu standards or specials, everything is wonderful and presentations are artful. I make this a stop to or from the airport whenever I can. They just can't open their second location in my hometown soon enough!
