Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Wow, I can't believe the negative reviews on this Chipotle. First of all, my husband and I go here almost every single day. We live on Willard Avenue just about a block from it, so it is very convenient. Everyday my husband and I split a chicken bowl. For the people who say they skimp, I literally can't imagine what you're talking about. Nearly every Chipotle I've been to puts a least 2-3 servings of food in every bowl--there is no way one human being needs to eat that much food! That is just greedy! We split a chicken bowl and normally can't even finish it. This location is clean, fast, and has very friendly customer service. I highly recommend!

Usually I am very satisfied by this establishment, but whenever the manager is there, I seem to leave feeling a little bit cheated. She is very rude. I usually like to have my burrito mixed up so that I don't get a huge clump of cheese, and every time that I ask her to mix it she glares at me and gives me some speech about how they don't normally do it. The last time I checked it really doesn't take that long to do. Then as of more recently, I have noticed that they have started to skimp on the meat whenever she is there. Usually it is a very good experience, but they need to change a few things starting with the manager.

One and a half stars. Plenty of seating inside and out. They're facing the same carnitas drought of late. Smaller portions than other locations. Also, I really hope that was a stray fragment of corn husk in my burrito bowl and not the corner of an employee's fingernail.

I've had two not-so-great experiences here. In the first instance, the person right before me kept ordering extra of everything - and it seemed as though the servers were giving me less of everything to compensate. Not just meat either...when I asked for lettuce they gave me 3 pieces. Then, in an attempt to avoid waiting in line for such service, I placed an online order. I arrived about 5 minutes after it was supposed to have been ready, at which point the person at the register yells for the servers to start making my order. What was the point of ordering online? I had to wait while they made my order, and then while they lost my order by mixing it in with another customer's order. I won't be visiting this location again.

I just had a wonderful burrito. For it not to be so busy, nothing was really prepared in wanted chicken but the kitchen had none ready. I was going to give three stars because Juana had quite the attitude issue and no food was prepared. However, my day was made by Wisdom and Christian who anticipated my needs and made me feel welcome. Wisdom smiled with her recommendation for steak since chicken was unavailable. Christian asked me about extra tortillas. They seem like they enjoy their job. That makes me happy to come and return here. I had to wait 20min for tea but ended up having to leave. I'll come back. Thanks you guys.

This is the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. They've made us wait for 15 minutes because they gave away all the chicken for catering, we waited, and then -- attention! -- they told me we have to wait 10 more minutes because the new portion of chicken again would go for catering. Unbelievable. I'd better go to Whole Foods.

Another Chipotle store to add to my blacklist. It's sad to see a brand that I used to love dearly deteriorate so badly the last few years. In any case, this store is bad. I don't know why Chipotle can't figure out the basics, like how to not give away your food to other people, causing a massive backup at the register and chaos in the line as it all gets figured out. Came here once, stood in line for 15 minutes, and walked out empty handed. I won't be back. It's that simple.

Just as I've started to complain that my burrito bowls tend to get smaller and smaller over the past couple of years, this location gave me a hearty, filling bowl today at lunch rush hour. How awesome?!! Came in around 12:30 today and the line was long as one would expect during lunch hour, but it moved reasonably fast. The employees were friendly and gave me good portions. There's an employee who constantly wiped down the tables as soon as customers leave. Overall, one of the best Chipotle I've everrrr been to! I recommend parking at Whole Foods across the street and grab a bag of chips from Whole Foods on your way out to get parking validation. Very convenient for otherwise usually horrendous DC parking.

I kind of hate going to lunch at this chipotle. I would rather take the metro to the tenleytown one than actually eat at this particular branch of chipotle. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl like I usually do and not only do they always skimp, but this one time I open it up and I find 5, yep counted them, 5 whole pieces of chicken. Stopped going there and will not be returning. I am a meat-lover so you can only imagine my frustration when I all I get for lunch is glorified rabbit-food.

Service is quick and friendly! What more could you ask for on your lunch break when you are trying to eat and run! Typical Chipotle nothing special here! I do feel like the portions here are a little larger than some others! I have been to this locations several times and I prefer it over some others that are closer to my home! If you have not tried the sofritas I recommend that you do! They are tasty alternative to meat!

Chitpotle, we have to talk. I've been going to this location every now and then for the past couple of years, at various times of day. I've been to this place enough for me to say..... THIS PLACE SKIMPS!!!!! During the day, late at night, it doesn't matter, this place skimps. Went there, around 9:50, 10 minutes FROM CLOSING, and the manager at that time was serving, and she clearly skimped on the meat, she then hands the food to another. I asked the server for more food, and she gave me 3 more strips of stripped beef. The manager through a fuss, and charged me for charged double. She didn't even take a look at the amount of meat, to see if I was given even a double. but instead charged me the extra 2.50 more.... And hey, the bigger question is, why skimp when you're so close to closing, what are you going to do with the meat? Am I arguing about meat, yes. Do they skimp every time at this place, yes. Fix this place.

Great, friendly, efficient staff. Often the line has been long yet moved rapidly. I've been to this location many times since Oct 2013, and the food is always fresh and delicious. I know most people go for the burritos, but I really like the crunchy tacos. I'd appreciate more salt on the chips (but I normally just add some myself).
(5)JuJu B.
Portion was good( the location in Bethesda gives less portion and you pay the same price), clean, fast speed and good customer service... I love coming here during break from work:) of course, food is great!!!
(5)Kelli B.
Typical Chipotle: fast service and standard product. Very busy location for the lunch rush, but the tables were cleaned efficiently and they got people in and out as quickly as possible.
(5)Will S.
Just went in to get a bowl and 2 quesadillas, the first one took a little longer than usual and the second one was made almost after everyone else in the line ordered. Train the employees more before putting them in

Parking can be a bit of a hassle. The lot behind the restaurant is very small. The food is the same as every chipotle...delicious. This particular location serves beer. The issues i have with this and every chipotle is the noise level and overall inattentive staff. You have to talk very loud for the person sitting directly across from you to hear you. This is due to the unnecessarily loud music that is playing, the grill, and the rest of the customers trying to talk over the ambient noise. As for the inattentive staff; when moving down the conveyor belt of employers building your burrito they don't always listen to your answer when they ask you a question. For instance, when they ask what kind of meat i want in my burrito before I answer they are already reaching for chicken. Its their default meat choice. There is also a bit of inconstancy. Sometimes they give you a good helping of rice. Other times you have to ask for A LOT of rice just to get what i consider a normal amount. And sometimes guacamole is extra sometimes its not.

This restaurant is standard Chipotle...which, admittedly, is pretty DELICIOUS! Chipotle is a bit more expensive than your typical fast-food/to go restaurant, however the quality of the products is better than your average McDonald's. They use meat from animals raised without antibiotics and added hormones, so the produce is legit! I try to treat myself here when I want a good meal but don't want to spend $50 plus at a sit-down, full-service restaurant. They offer beer and margaritas for those who dine in if you want more of a restaurant, relaxing type of experience! This location is also very clean and when I went it wasn't crowded at all! Overall, Chipotle is delicious when you want something with more quality than McDonald's but something that is less expensive than a full-service restaurant. Great choice for a lunch break!

It's Chipotle. This one looks like the one you have pictured in your mind. It's clean, the food is usually hot when I go and the staff doesn't seem to have an attitude unlike some that I've been to. Parking is tricky. I think there are about six parking spaces in the lot behind the building, but people try to make it ten, thus blocking others in from time to time. There are also a couple on the side of the building.
(4)Greg G.
As some other of the reviewers have said, it's Chipolte, and you're experience here will pretty much be the same as the Chipolte's the world over. Only tricky spot here is parking, limited street and free parking, you can park in a garage, but even validated you still have to pay there. Kind of frustrating, but hey it's an urban area, what are you going to do. Overall, this Chipolte like all others serves great food that is better than most fast food, and also of course using more sustainable practices than the average chain outpost.

I do anything I can to get away from the college crowd, despite the fact that I myself am still in college. I'm getting too old for those shenanigans (and those pesky kids just won't stay off my lawn). Therefore, the Tenley Chipotle has become off-limits to me -- I also partially blame the fear of getting mild food poisoning again from there -- so the ChCh Chipotle it is. It's a Chipotle. You know what you're getting because you essentially make your meal -- those working hands just provide the good stuff. Mmm. What makes this place even better? ALCOHOL. Beer and margaritas are sold in this Chipotle - thus once again separating those who are actually over 21 from those who try and ask and make an excuse when asked for ID. Don't front, gang. Outdoor seating in the summer with my burrito bowl and my Corona and I'm all set. Sometimes I can be a girl of simple needs.
(4)Jenny R.
The rudest, most patronizing, and obnoxious staff I have encountered in years! I was so repulsed, I cancelled my order and went next door to Panera instead! I will never be back here ever again! Normally I love Chipotle, but this branch is horribly run.

What to say. It's quick. It's good. Make sure you get some hot salsa and add some Chipotle sauce to it (the dark red bottle), otherwise you're missing out.

I love Chipotle. I was introduced to it when I was living in Minneapolis and I was glad to find this one in Chevy Chase area. Its close to Friendship heights metro and I occasionally go here to pick up a veggie burrito for dinner. I really like the quality of ingredients they use; they are fresh and tasty. For vegetarians, you can either have burrito (tortilla wrap) or a burrito bowl (no tortilla). For meat lovers, there are lot of options. One burrito is quite satisfying and will fill you up. There is something for everyone's taste and I would highly recommend it. There is lot of space to sit inside and also there is an option of sitting outside as the other reviewer mentioned.
(4)Martin B.
I love this Chipotle. It's a pretty spacious location (although at times it does get busy), the staff are incredibly friendly and they don't skimp on the meat. The food is standard Chipotle fare - very good Mexican food considering the price, with portions big enough to feed Andre the Giant. Creamy guac, sinful cheese and some flavorful salsas complete the experience. Also, this place DOES serve alcohol despite what the listing says. They've got beers and margaritas. Never seen someone order them.

YAY! Chipotle! As a native of the Washington, DC area, I go through serious Chipotle withdrawals when I go to college in New Orleans, Louisiana. Chipotle hits the spot, day or night. The meat is nicely seasoned, the Guacomole is freaking amazing, and the salsas are excellently flavored. I like their salads as well; the dressing is to die for! This particular location is right across the street from the Geico Corporate office. Because of this, it can get EXTREMELY busy. If you are in a hurry, go to Chipotle.com . There, you can order your burritos ahead of time, pay for them online, then go straight to the register! No need to wait in line!
(5)Tyler B.
Consistently out of chips, a staff that is generally both rude and simply not proficient at assembling food items (messy items, scooping food off of the counter with their hands and throwing it back on top). I'd drive out of my way to Bethesda or Tenleytown to avoid this location, and I live practically next door.
(1)Steffany H.
ehhh... eveyrone loves this place and it's just ok to me. You know what to expect because it's the same-ol-same-ol but I'm just not a fan. I came, I ate, and that's it really. Only positive is the non-hormone meat they use.
(3)Christen W.
I love Chipotle but this one in particular is terrible! Every item in your burrito/bowl will be skimped. It is possible you will ask for more at every step. For $8 I want my moneys worth and at this branch you wont get it. The line is terrible, the employees hate their jobs and you can tell and there is always a long line.
(1)Alicia G.
I tend to not write reviews on chains when possible, but I had to say that I really like this particular Chipotle location. It's right next to Panera, MeiWah and Lia's. Some days when I just can't figure out what I'm hungry for, I'll grab some chips and salsa at Chipotle and then grab a sandwich at Panera when I'm not up for a huge burrito. It's the same as all of the other Chipotle's...and I'm pretty sure they validate for parking. During the spring/summer months, they have lots of seating outside too. :-)
(4)Katie W.
its a chain. so of course the food is good. but they only get 3 stars because the line is alwayss horrendous! maybe they should hire a few more cashiers during peak hours??
(3)Will D.
It's Chipotle, so no big surprises here. However, this location does have outside seating, which is a plus, and it's not as mobbed at lunch as some other locations (19th and M comes to mind).
(3)Raymond W.
$2 for guacamole. Holy crap why don't you just charge me for the air I breath while waiting on your lunch line. At $8.85 for a burrito, I'd rather challenge my body to digest items off the McDonald's Dollar menu. With the economy down Chipotle has been raising prices just because they can. ahh.
