The walls of Thai Heaven are covered with bright art work and family photos and the tv is usually turned to a sports channel. Thai Heaven is run by a husband and wife team, he takes the orders and she does the cooking. Both of them remember my friend and me and the wife almost always comes out of the kitchen for a quick chat. I've been to Thai Heaven numerous times in the past couple of months and each and every thing I have ordered has been amazing. One warning, if you order things spicy, they will be spicy (your nose may run). For me this is great but can be a bit too spicy for some. We usually start with the Thai Heaven Spring Rolls, which have a light and crispy wrapper and are filled with savory chicken and pork. They are served with a sweet sauce, which is great when combined with the spices from the spice tray. My partner in crime generally orders the pad thai or the drunken noodles with pork while my standard order is the vegetarian green curry. I order it spicy and love that Thai Heaven doesn't skimp on the heat. One of my other favorites is number 68 - Phad Kee Mao - stir fried rice noodles with chili and basil leaves (add your protein of choice). Thai Heaven isn't fancy but the food has been consistently good and if you are a fan of Thai food, Thai Heaven will be some of the best you've had in DC/VA/MD.

Wow !!! I am an Indian and who thought their 2 star spice level gives me a running nose :O This little thai place is a hidden gem. A couple owns this place,he takes orders and she cooks. When I ordered 3 star spice levels, she came out of the kitchen and told me I couldn't take that level of spice with a smaller portion. I didn't want to risk it, so I went with 2 star and boy was she right !! I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken lo-mein. Both tastes heavenly.. The name says it all, Thai Heaven !!!

Hands down the best thai food in the MD/DC area I have had since I came back from Thailand. The decor of the restaurant is way different then anything we see here stateside, but its what is seen over seas in Thailand, Colorful walls with bright decor and lots of cultural/traditional artwork. I have been coming here for years and the food quality is always great. Panang curry, Pad Thai, and the Drunken noodles are on point EVERY TIME! If you're looking for great authentic Thai food with funky decor (Or you can carry out and eat in the comfort of your own home!) this is your place!

The food here is pretty good but I just feel ripped off every time I order from here. It's not just this place.....but almost every Thai restaurant that I've ever been to. Too bad I love their food so much!! The food is super spicy here so maybe ask for mild. I wasn't asked what spice level I wanted for my dishes and it was mouth watering for 10 minutes afterwards hot. The mango and sticky rice is just lovely. The only problem is that it is expensive. And it feels like I'm bothering the owners when ordering food from them. Weird....but good food nonetheless.
(3)Dan C.
Great food...and at the right price. I've been running in for lunch ever since it opened. I love spice and I love basil. # L46 is my order 95% of the time. ~~ BTW: Lunch is easily under $10.00.

Delicious food and the woman who owns it is so kind and lovely! I split the yellow chicken curry and pad see eaw with beef with my mom and they were phenomenal. The shrimp spring rolls were so fresh and delicious. Can't say enough good things! Thank you!!!

Maybe 3.5 stars..... First off, the food is very tasty. The portion sizes may be a little small for what you pay - but we also felt like it was a nice lunch sized portion. You don't feel like you ate too much, but also got enough. I loved that they had everything I wanted - Drunken Noodles, thai iced coffee/tea, spring rolls, and mango sticky rice. For once, I was pleased that my drunken noodles were not hot, just like I requested - other places cant seem to make it mild even if you request it! On the other hand, the mango in the mango sticky rice was SUPER fibrous and I actually choked a little. The thai iced tea and coffee were great - very sweet. All was really tasty overall (besides the mangoes - maybe they're going out of season now), and for that I will probably come back. The place is a little hole in the wall though - nothing fancy for sure. And I was a little unnerved when a LARGE affrican american man greeted us and served our food. I was wondering if maybe he just knew how to cook thai food? And then we saw the thai lady owner come out of the back later, so he must just help out with serving the food and all. He was super nice and attentive too, so points for that. Glad to find a thai place near Woodlawn since there are not a lot of great options in the area.
(3)Michelle C.
Tried this place recently. Pad woonsen and pad see ew (drunken noodles) were both delicious ! The satay was a little over cooked and dry but the accompanying peanut sauce was good. The gentleman who took my order was very friendly. The decor could use some updating but it seems like a cozy neighborhood place. I'll be back !

We ordered food to go. For the pricing of the items on the menu I'd expect nicer Togo containers. By the time I got home I had a bag full of sauces from our food. My husband got pad thai and thought it was delicious. I got panang curry and it was super watery like soup and it had a layer of oil floating on top. It was not creamy at all. I was not impressed. The older gentleman who worked there was friendly the woman hi is presumably eh owner was not. Not in any kind of rush to eat there again.
(2)Hank M.
I've eaten here several times, and have really enjoyed it. The food is fresh and flavorful, and is served quickly. It's never crowded, and the owners are friendly.
(5)Samantha G.
Why is it so difficult to get some good Thai food? The food here was OK- small portions, kinda greasy, but it did hit the spot considering I was really craving some Thai food. My thoughts right after we ate were, "Eh, in a pinch." But soon after eating, my boyfriend and I both got really ill from it and into the next morning :( We had the drunken noodles with chicken and the Pad Prikh King....I'm getting queasy just thinking about it...

Thai Heaven was one of those accident restaurants that one finds en route to a more major destination. I was with two co-workers from California who had a hankering for Thai food, so we Yelped and found this little hole in the wall. When we went in to check it out, it was abundantly clear that we either stumbled upon a hidden secret or a mundane, small-town eatery. It turned out to be the latter. I played it safe and ordered the Pad Thai and a spring roll. Neither of the dishes was particularly notable, but the cook, who will come out multiple times to acknowledge you, did use her spice well. As a person who enjoys spicy food, I appreciate the care that she took in advising us not to add spice to the point that the "flavors" were masked. Other than these basic thoughts, the rastaureant did not really inspire me

Honestly, I just moved from Philly and was looking for a great Thai place. The curry sauce waa very watery which was a huge let down. They charged me extra to substitute one vegetable for another vegetable. The portion size is huge but it doesn't make up for a mediocre meal in my honest opinion. Honestly, I haven't been back since that first experience. I only gave an extra star to make three stars because they were nice people but the food was just disappointing.
(3)Marcy S.
I was hoping the food was superb. I found out it is Mediocre at best. The beef and broccoli was drowned in a heavily thickened , cornstarched gravy, totally in edible by me..The price was excessive. For the meal I purchased with spring rolls cost almost $18.00. I am disappointed this evening.

I grew up with a lot of thai/lao dishes in my household since my father was thai and mother was lao, being from San Diego, the thai restaurants out there are legit. Searched around baltimore for good thai food, yet to be still disappointed. I ordered the pad kee Mao (drunken noodles) w/ chicken. It was quite oily and a little mushy. The chicken was dry, it sort of had the pad kee Mao taste but it was a little sweet, I asked for extra spicy but it didn't come out spicy at all. I was hoping this place would be good, but the noodles reminded me of a fast food Chinese take out. Not worth the $12 I spent, Walked in and it looked like a thai restaurant but I wasn't greeted so it made it a little awkward. But I have to say this was the closest restaurant to being authentic thai food in the baltimore area
(3)Julie M.
Awful. I was expecting Thai food from a Thai place but I guess that was too much. Even Pad Thai was apparently too much of a challenge to pull off. Staff was impolite and while I was there they got several orders wrong and all the take-out orders were mixed-up to the point where the cook was chasing people down in the parking lot to switch their food. Ambience was lacking, unless you actually enjoy eating with a tv droning insipidly in the background. I could walk to this place from my house, but will I make the trip again? Not a chance! Who knows whose food I might get, anyway!
(1)Christine P.
They do not deliver. (minus 1 star) They are overpriced. (minus 1 star) But OMG their Phad Kee Mao (a.k.a. Drunken Noodle) is to DIE for!!!!! I can't comment much on the dining experience since I've only had it carried out... from what I can tell from it, it's not fancy wancy... a little hole in the wall so to speak... I can tell you every time I placed an order on the phone, the lady on the phone was very courteous and the order was ready in 10-15 minutes. Thai Heaven Spring Rolls: nothing spectacular. overpriced though $3.75 Satay: bit dry. didn't like it much. $6.95!!!! 6.95 for 3 pieces of chicken!!! (frown face, frown face, ANGRY face. it's the princibality!!!!) Rad Na: Weird broccoli noodle concoction that is really brothy, almost like a soup! hmmmm... it was weird texture and taste. nuh uh. don't like. And at $9.75, I don't think I'm going to eat THAT again anytime soon. Phad Kee Mao: $10 for dinner $7 for lunch. Every time I order from here I sigh and wonder why it costs so much for bunch of noodle in soy sauce but OMG, it's good. :D After 3 experiences with this restaurant, I was torn between 3 or 4 stars but I can't in good conscience give it 4 stars based on ONE dish I LOVED when everything else came up short. So, for now it's 3. :)
(3)Lucy X.
The drunken noodles were indeed very tasty but also EXTREMELY oily! The Heaven curry (red curry) was okay, but not the best. I guess the fact that we had it to go didn't help, considering all the chicken was lost in the abyss of curry soup and all the soup was covered by an inch thick layer of oil sitting on top. The mango sticky rice was okay too, not the best I've had, although the mangos were very fresh. Overall, a very average Thai restaurant, but if you're in the area and craving Thai, it's totally worth it to come for their lunch specials as the same things are so much cheaper than on their dinner menus.
(3)Ryan T.
Seems a little overpriced for Thai food that is mediocre at best.
(2)Alyce D.
Great hole in the wall restaurant. Perfect for take out. Try #52--spicy cashew nut chicken. Our favorite!
(4)J L.
Extremely salty. When I asked the cashier / server (after the meal) if I could request "low sodium" in future orders, he shrugged his shoulders and said "depends on the dish". While the veggies were well cooked, the salt ruined the dish, and the servers lack of interest bugged me. My husband liked his curry, but I won't be back.
(2)Kathalina M.
We decided to have Thai for lunch today...we ordered fried spring rolls, drunken noodles and Rad Na. I wasn't sure what was in our spring rolls cos the fillings were all brown but our entrees tasted great..
(3)Bangali A.
This is our 2nd time and it seems like the fame of Yelp made them raise their price but killed the quality of food. Rather go to Crystal Thai. Better environment, better quality.
(3)Kelly Q.
Everything I have gotten at Thai heaven has been delicious. I usually stick with chicken dishes, as that is my preference. The cashew chicken, ginger chicken, and the chicken with pineapple are my top three favorites. I usually ask for extra white rice, because I don't think they give you enough. Aside from that the portions are very good. I usually get carryout from Thai heaven, but I have eaten at the restaurant two times. The restaurant is usually pretty empty. There is a television which has generally had news or sports. You must ask for a key to use the bathroom.
(5)A L.
Honest review. I usually trust the yelpers' reviews since I am a frequent user myself. So I decided to try Thai heaven because I've been really loving pad Thai lately. I walked in and no one was at the front desk, which was disappointing and after about a minute I was greeted by the lady who said 'you here for pick up?' I thought they were only unpleasant over the phone However! The food smelled great so I waited until I got home. The noodles were cooked right and chicken was great too, but it didn't have much to the spice. I've definitely tasted better pad Thai cheaper than $12. Portion isn't that much either. But pretty good I guess.
(3)Rick B.
This is becoming one of my favorite spots. All the food is excellent, with flavorful slices/veggies grown from the owner's own yard. When the menu says spicy, it means spicy. I leaned this while having the green curry, which in no way is a negative comment. It was the best curry I've had so far. I highly recommend checking out this place.
(5)Maribel B.
I've been looking for a good Thai food place since moving from DC to Baltimore. And Thai Heaven is it!!!! I stopped in after seeing the reviews and knowing it was a very short drive from home. The Shrimp Pad Thai was wonderful. Noodles cooked perfectly! And the sauce was fantastic with just the tiniest hint of spice. The spring rolls were also great. A nice crispy roll without the oily finish. I will definitely be back to try more.
(5)Amy P.
This is a place close to where I live, so I really wanted it to be awesome. It wasn't awesome, but it was good. The place has a homey feel, and was empty when we walked in. We were served by a guy who looked like he was doing repairs or something, and the buttons on the bottom of his shirt weren't buttoned, so we got to look at that. Blech. However, the food is is pretty OK. The spring rolls and satay that we started off with were awesome, and were served piping hot. The sweet/sour sauce was the right balance that you rarely see in s/s sauce. I had the Pad Thai and it was only OK. I really wanted it to be much, much better, and I certainly took the leftovers home to munch on later, but it could have used more flavor. My friend had some curry noodles, and while she ate every bit, it was very saucy - just too much sauce. I will go back, if only for those Spring Rolls, and I want to try the drunken noodles. Good neighborhood place.
(3)Joi C.
Okay so must caught them on a bad day. Food was less than bland with 4 shrimp in total and there was a strand of hair. Wanted to try them really bad because of the all the reviews I saw but never going back. You only get one chance when it comes to the food. So not worth $11.00.

"3 star? Very spicy!! You're sure you want 3 star??" That's what they say to my husband *every* time we go to Thai Heaven. They are always *astounded* that anyone (rather, any non-Thai person) would order 3 stars. But you see, we're from Seattle. My husband has been to more Thai restaurants than you can shake a stick at, he's no spice-wuss. Bring it. And they do. They're also really sweet to give us extra spice on the side when we ask. The only dishes we order are Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew, both are excellent. We can't speak on any other dish, but based on repeated orders of those two dishes, they are consistently tasty. They'd be perfect if they delivered, seems to be a 2 or 3 person operation. It's a small place, no ambiance to speak of. Really best for take-out. Good lunch prices. Friendly service.
(4)Nathan C.
Been back twice more now; still have yet to order off the menu, as I have developed a habit of asking the wonderful lady who runs it to bring me whatever she feels like feeding me. She's 3 for 3 so far. So now I've had the red curry chicken (hot, tasty) and a something with tons of chicken and basil in it which knocked my socks off. Still 5 star all the way.
(5)Rob N.
Thai Heaven's back in good graces. Both drunken noodles and garlic-pepper pork have been spot-on in my last couple of visits. Whatever was going on in the kitchen seems to have been worked out. I can once again recommend for tasty Thai noms.
(4)R H.
The food is not like typical Thai food ... The fried rice and the pad Thai we ordered had a different flavor. And that was great. I liked the taste a lot. Their soup portions are really fit for 3/4 people, but if you ask, they will serve you a smaller portion that is not on the menu. The lady who runs the place is friendly. So if you are tired if typical Thai food, this is your place to taste something different.
(5)Kevin S.
Had red curry and it was so delicious that at one point (having forgotten the name of this place) I exclaimed "man I'm in Thai heaven." No pun intended. My friend's Pad Thai was an 8/10 he said and was very satisfied. We ordered the lunch versions which were both cheap and ample in size.
(5)Danielle J.
Wow! I called them last night at 9:20pm (menu says they're open until 10) to place a carryout order & the phone rang and rang until the line "hung itself up" (some kind of click noise that was not someone picking up and hanging up)... called back... same thing... On the third call someone did pick up after a few rings, 6-8 seconds of silence, then hung up. I called back thinking at this point that they were having phone issues. Someone answered on the first ring & kept saying "hello?? hello??" I asked if it was Thai Heaven, she said, "yes, we closed.." I said "did the hours change? my menu says 10pm," "no, we ran out of a lot of stuff so we closed early." "Ohh.. ok?" "Ok, bye!" (click.) I was shocked. Why wouldn't you just pick up on the first ring and say that? The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I've been here before for lunch and the woman was very friendly... I'm assuming it's the same woman. Lucky for them this is the only Thai restaurant in Catonsville so I will probably give them another chance but man I'll have to be desperately craving it.
(2)Divi D.
Got red curry, fried rice, and pad thai with my friends. The food was OK, I thought it was too oily and reminded me more of Chinese food than Thai! I literally dipped napkins on top of the oily layer of my red curry to get out some of the oil. The red curry was not rich and very liquidy. All my friends felt upset to their stomach the next day. This was basically greasy imitation Thai that made me feel sick the next day, I even threw away my left overs. I would not recommend unless you really are in desperate taste of Thai food.
(2)Jack P.
Phad kee mao was great, but you must take the spicey rating seriously. HOT! The place was packed at lunch, so get there a bit early if you can. Food is authentic, ambiance is thai all the way (even the channel on the TV). Our order was taken by the owner, she was very straight forward and about business. Lacked some personality, but this was the only time I've been there, so she may lighten up for regulars. Would I go back, yes, but there are so many other places in the area to try first.
(4)Yasmin M.
My friend and I were nearby and wanted spicy food so we decided to give the place a try. It looks like an authentic hole in the wall, which I love. I really don't understand all the positive yelp reviews, which definitely influenced our decision to eat there. My friend lived in NYC for 3 years and I traveled in Thailand for 2 months so we know our Thai food. We ordered Tom Yum, Pad Se Euw, and Pad Kra Pao tofu. The soup alone was $13! That would have been fine if it had delivered on quality. Yes, it was large( 1 qt) but it was also filled with mostly fake seafood and had 3 very small shrimp in the entire quart. The other two dishes were meh. Not bad but not great. Kind of bland. We requested really spicy, 3 stars and the gentleman discouraged us saying we could add more. He said that he would give us 2 stars and we could add more spice with the condiment. Two stars was NOTHING and the red pepper condiment was so old that it was brown, not red and I had to add a lot of it to get any heat going.. We also ordered 2 green teas each at $1.50 a pop and they charged for rice even though the entrees were each over $10. So the total for this mediocre meal with tax and tip was $52. For $52, I can have a kick ass meal at Jong Kak or a much better meal at one of the Vietnamese restaurants in Catonsville, Or for $60, we could have eaten at the amazing Helmand (Afghan). I realize that they are not Thai but I'd rather have a great Korean, VN or other meal than a meh Thai meal. Bottom line is that the service was good and the food just ok but at those prices, it's unforgivable. If you don't factor in the prices, I would give them 2 stars.
(1)Michelle A.
I was starving and ordered phad mee kao (idk if i spelled that right) aka drunken noodles and the veggie spring rolls. the noodles were just okay, def not authentic thai flavor, but I wasn't expecting it to be. For what it was, I would not spend $10 on it. The spring rolls were about $4, but they are larger than regular ones. It came with an extremely runny sweet and sour sauce that I did not care for, yet was needed because the rolls were not seasoned. Wouldn't go back. The price doesn't match the food, only gets 2 stars because they had good customer service.
(2)Joseph J.
Well, I have to say I was in Heaven when I had the green curry! I asked for extra spicy, and they eyed me rather strangely, and asked if I was sure. I said YES! Well, it was spicy, but not blow you away spicy, and the aroma was unbelievable! The heat was good, and the sweetness of the coconut milk balanced it out nicely. A very good sized portion, too. Definitely a must-try. Their chicken Pad Prikh King is also delectable. The seating area is small, I think it's meant to be more of a take-out place, but I like to have mine hot and fresh, so I eat in. They will also vary the seasonings according to your liking, so don't worry about it if you are not into spicy food.
(4)Tom S.
This is the Thai restaurant all other Thai restaurants go to to learn how to make the famous Thai Beef Salad. Love it! Family joint. Pad Thai is just the way one would want it.
(4)Kathryn C.
Just moved to Catonsville, and were looking for some Thai food. Coming from NYC, we have pretty high standards and order Thai at least once a week. Got drunken noodles, and they were good. Prices are always higher outside of the city, and it did seem to be a bit pricey, but nothing over the top. We will definitely be getting takeout from Thai Heaven in the future.
(4)Natalie F.
Very mediocre shrimp pad Thai, and even more mediocre service. I was glad when I came it was "just under the wire" to still get the lunch special price. The prices are surprisingly high for the quality of the food. The owner or employee that was attending to us, seemed annoyed that we were there and he actually had to do something. Probably would never go back unless my only other option was China Kitchen.
(2)Lindsay R.
Not a huge fan of this restaurant. I ordered the spicy red coconut curry with beef and a thai iced tea and was not a huge fan of either one. The curry seemed too watery and had little taste...also for the price I would have expected a little bit more meat! The thai iced tea was OK , but it was a bit too sweet and syrupy for my taste. Also, the service was quite slow which was odd since the restaurant was near empty when my party of 4 arrived. I probably won't return :(
(2)Joanne K.
We were driving back to NJ from DC and stopped here pretty randomly. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside so we hesitated to go in but are so glad we did! The food was awesome. We got fish curry and one of their noodle dishes. Both were fantastic, and the price was quite reasonable. The staff is super friendly - while we were eating, a little boy came in with his dad (they were picking up take-out). The person ringing up their food asked the little boy how he was doing. He said he was feeling sick that day. The dad added that he'd stayed home from school with a stomachache. The woman tried to make him feel better by offering him a cookie! I'm not sure an oatmeal raisin cookie is the best thing for an upset stomach, but it was incredibly cute and shows how nice and friendly the staff are. Great place - check it out if you live close or pass by!

I work near UMBC and came here with my office colleagues and the first thing I noticed was the friendliness and the joking going on between the owner and my colleagues (who apparently visit this place a lot) as well as amongst other customers. A few days later, I went thr with another friend, and he is now a big big fan of this place. He orders the same thing, to such an extent, that the cook now knows what he wants, what shud the spice level be, what should the quantity be...etc. The food is amazing. I always like to try diff things and have tried a bunch of options here till date. Haven't yet found a single bad one. The ambience is next to nothing and the service might be so-so, if it gets crowded...but the friendliness of the owner more than makes up for it. I wud have given it a 3-* or 4-*, but I am sticking with a perfect score as of now. I jus love this place and will miss it, when i leave the baltimore region.
(5)Mat P.
Nice little Thai place. I have come here for lunch a couple of times and it's never too crowded. Service is fast and the lady who works there whenever I go there is funny. I love getting the Spicy Chicken and Cashew or Pad Kee Mao. Prices are okay (I'm a poor student so there's the context for that). Lunch with a drink works out to about $10-11 depending on what you get.
(5)Matt R.
Been goin here for about 12 years now. What a great hole-in-the-wall spot. I've eaten lunch and dinner here and never been disappointed. Like some other commentors mentioned, it pays to warm up to the owner and ask for her reccomendations. She frequently visits Thailand and when she returns, she'll incorporate current Thai cooking trends in to the menu. Try the Heaven Curry. It does get busy here and the service will suffer. Alot yourself some time to get lunch done.
(4)Aileen P.
Authentic Thai. Friendly service. I was a bit disappointed that they did not serve morning glory though.
(4)Jeff C.
I don't know if I would have wandered in here if I wasn't brought by a friend. Where Thai Heaven lacks in shiny signs and fashionable seating, they make up for it with deliciously awesome Thai Food! You can't go wrong with their Green Curry, that's a promise. Everything tastes fresh and not americanized, which is a huge plus. Order ahead if you can, I've had some really long waits around lunchtime for pickup.
(4)Matthew L.
Excellent food and fairly close to authentic. If you like authentic food though make sure to ask them to make it spicy, I think my only complaint (and if you don't like spicy food is a bonus) is that their food is not nearly as spicy as when I was in Bangkok. Wide variety of food and if you're feeling like something different be sure to walk in and check out the special board, they usually have something a bit different up there. There's not a whole lot of seating inside but it is mostly a carry out kind of place so that's not a big deal.
(4)Jim N.
Over priced. Wasn't very good.
(2)Alycia J.
Great Thai takeout near UMBC.
(3)Eric P.
Wonderful, small, hole in the wall thai restaurant. The food is good, but you would never guess that if you looked in at the decor that mimics a bad chinese restaurant. If I lived near Catonsville, this would be my restaurant for thai takeout.
(3)Lance n.
Great place. As Eric said, don't expect much in the way of decor but the food is excellent. Service can be a little slow but when the same person is answering the phone, cooking, and serving food that is to be expected! We've tried a number of dishes and all were great. Favorites were the pad kee mao (aka drunken noodles), green curry, and pad thai. I like my thai very spicy and I order everything "extra spicy" (3 stars on the menu) and it provides a pretty good kick.
