Honestly the best Chinese take out spot I've ever had. Everything is always fresh and tasty. Everything. Never actually ate inside the restaurant but it's very clean and the staff is always super friendly. They even offer sushi which is hard to find in Catonsville if you live in the area. ONLY thing I don't like (besides not delivering) is their General Tsao is not very good. Avoid that. Everything else on the menu is great!

We were looking for a sit-down Chinese American restaurant after Dragon House closed in Owings Mills. At Little Phoenix, you get large portions and a variety of favorite dishes. You can order traditional combinations or small dishes like sushi and dumplings. The staff is very personable and it's nice to have an alternative to Asian buffets.

I have ordered delivery and eaten in at Little Pheonix.... Eating there was great, order was correct, quick service, tasted great... But EVERY SINGLE TIME I order delivery, they get the order wrong. When I call and politely state their error, they say "oh next time we'll give you a miso soup free".... Next time?! Then one time I figured... Okay I'll eat my incorrectly delivered meal and next time I called they said "we don't have record of that so we can't give it to you for free".... Bad way to conduct a business in my opinion...

Despite some comments in other reviews it is quite easy to figure out upon arrival where you go. One large room for dining with linen tablecloths and napkins. Service was fast and friendly thru our meal. Portions were large for lunch and prices were very reasonable. Started with spring rolls which were bland and heavy. Not your typical . Wonton soup had nice broth. Wontons very doughy with little filling. Had two entrees shrimp chop Suey ( plenty of shrimp!). And chicken with cashews were salty but fine. Entrees best part of meal. With so many choices will probably not go back.

Go to Chinese food in Catonsville. The prices are reasonable and food good. The pad thai is the best item in the menu. The staff is friendly and a great bet while in the area.

This place is decent. I recommend shrimp toast, pan fried dumplings and fried rice

Have ordered from here (through GrubHub) a few times now. I was pretty psyched the first time, thinking I'd *finally* found Chinese in this area that was edible. They have a $15 delivery minimum, so I usually have to order a few apps or something to make the minimum. No problem... until I got the crab rangoons. If you want fried pockets of cream cheese, these are great. If you want any (even imitation) crab, AVOID. There was literally 0 meat in them. Tonight took the cake though. I placed an order at 7:04 p.m. My card was charged at the same time. At 8:40, still no food. So I call the restaurant, only to be put on hold and then hung up on. Called back, gave my address, but that's apparently not enough to locate my order. I had to give address, order, and approximate total for them to figure out enough to tell me "It's on the way." I should hope so. While on the phone with them trying to pin down a better estimate, the delivery guy appeared at my door. With cold food. Considering I live within 2 miles, this is beyond ridiculous. The delivery man tells me, "Well, I left the store 25 minutes ago, and the heat was on in my car." Considering the 2 winter coats he was wearing, I don't feel so great about the heat in his car. Also - I'm not sure the health department is ok with that type of food handling. After refusing delivery, I was offered 20% off about $20 to take the food. The man hands me $2. Sorry, sir, I know how math works. At this point, I'd prefer cheese and crackers. So, two hours later, that's what I'm going with.

I order from Little Phoenix at least 4 times a month and love how quickly they deliver. I am all about their dumplings and their egg foo young is pretty amazing. I would steer clear of the sushi though. It's not horrible but it's not great.

This is my GO TO Chinese place! They always get my order right, fast, and delicious. The crab Rangoons are big and stuffed - they're a must. My roommate and I always get the lo mein, crispy chicken, general tso's, kung pal, and wonton soup. It's never disappointing. Everything tastes fresh and the employees are so nice and accommodating.

Sadly this is not the Little Phoenix of old. Quality has gone way down. Flavors are either muddy or all together lacking. Ran into the owners and found out they'd actually sold the restaurant and where looking to open a new food venture. Now I know why things weren't up to the original standards. I've since moved on to Hunan Joy as my go to Chinese take-out, Hunan Taste for sit down.

I'm not sure what people are talking about and quite frankly, I'm offended. I have nothing but good to say about Lil' P (I like to think I'm hip and give my favorite places nicknames. It's a thing). I've never ordered delivery so I can't say much about that, but I do regularly order carry-out and dine in. When I say regularly, I'm talking about how I used to go at least once a week (give or take a few) and it's to the point where they know my order by heart (orange chicken and sweet & sour soup! yumm). I've been dining with them for almost two years now and they're only getting better. I'm also going to mention that this is my first ever Yelp review. I do agree that dining in is a little confusing and awkward when you first walk in, but they'll happily seat you when they see you. You're given hot tea and fried wonton strips (I use the sauce caddy for these). The food comes out soo fast and just like everyone has mentioned - HUGE PORTIONS and CHEAP PRICES. I will never ever EVER be able to finish my plate in one sitting, which is fine because I like eating leftovers hahah. Also, my waitress treats me like one of her close friends. We love to catch up with each other and she always asks me about how school is going. I always bring my friends to Lil' P and when they go without me, she'll remember them as my friends. At the end of the meal, I look at how I've soiled the pretty pink napkin and the really white table cloth and feel guilty. But then I forget because finally, you're given the check accompanied usually with a fortune cookie and an orange slice. Ah~ so refreshing. In fact, I think i'm going to some orange chicken today after class.

Huge portions, awesome value, and delicious food. This is not a fancy place though.. Very much "hole in the wall" type but again, you cannot beat the taste/value combo they got going on.

Can I give it less than 1 star? This is actually from Feb 2012. Yelp just told me that I had an unfinished review, so I'm just now posting. This is the worst Chinese I've ever had. We had it delivered for dinner, and about all of it is going in the trash. First of all the delivery man obviously smoked in the car. I could smell it as soon as I started digging into the bag, and worst of all I could taste it in my steamed rice. Trashed! The crab Rangoon had ZERO meat in them. They were only fried, twisted dough. They were also cold and greasy and too tough to chew through even one. I spit it out and the rest - Trashed! (my dog also spit out hit, and he licks his own butt) The General Tao's chicken might as well of had water for sauce. It had no flavor at all and then the actual chicken was mostly batter. Oh and it was cold and possibly under cooked. Trashed! The sweet and sour chicken was the worst. Of course the chicken was cold and soggy with grease, and the sweet & sour (usually bright red at every other Chinese takeout I've ever been too) was a weird brownish color, cold (with a weird skin on top) and smelled spoiled. Trashed! All in all, I've never been more disappointed in Chinese take out. Worst Chinese food ever. Do yourself a favor and don't bother.

I love Little Phoenix. The food is consistently delicious and the menu has variety but not so much that it is overwhelming. Prices are very reasonable and portions are big. More than anything, the ladies who serve are so kind and attentive! We love them! They treat everyone like family.

I made a fairly simple order off dinner hour but by no means late. It took nearly an hour an a half for delivery, they did not include the soup I ordered and the food tasted terrible. Their Kungpao chicken was mostly celery, did not have any red pepper or sichuan pepper corn. The fried rice tasted like it was days old and microwave egg rolls are better.

I haven't seen their dining room full but they have a lot of take out customers. I have experienced waiting to pick up my phone order. Their staff are nice and friendly.

I went to this restaurant with a friend of mine for Valentine's day. After walking in, you're not quite sure where to go. There is an obvious dining area and an obvious window for cary out, but no one is standing there to seat you. My friend and I walked over to the cary out window and asked where we go to be seated. She just hastily responded "15 minutes!" My friend and I sat down and looked over the menu. The prices are very very reasonable, which is good because the food was awful. We split a combo meal of General Tso's chicken, an egg roll, fried rice, and egg drop soup for about 11 dollars. The soup was delicious, the chicken was nearly inedible, the egg roll was 99% cabbage, and the rice was dry and hard. We were finished eating in about 10 minutes, because neither of us could stand the food. We ended up having to sit for another 30 minutes before anyone came to check on us to see how we were doing. When someone finally came by, I asked for a box and the check. The waiter grabbed a box and a bag that were sitting on the ground leftover from a recently departed party. I will not be returning.

Really Great Chinese food. It is probably the best in the area. I love dining in with my family.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
