Water’s Edge Grill Menu

I love Water's Edge Grill, the only 3 meal restaurant in the hotel - Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay. They have a nice selection of American breakfast. I always go for the buffet ($17) that includes two drinks (coffee & orange juice, for me) and the omelets from the omelet station. The servers are all very helpful. Many of them look like they are college students from overseas (Macedonia, Mongolia, Poland, etc...) visiting the U.S. just for the summer on a special program that enables them to work. They are all hard working, friendly and nice. You feel as if you came to a different country, kind of. Anyway, my favorites here are the fresh fruits, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, omelet, very tasty fresh OJ, coffee, and the very high ceiling.

I was at the Hyatt (where this restaurant is located) and stopped in here for breakfast. They have the requisite breakfast buffet and omlette maker with a fairly robust breakfast menu. I went for the Eggs Benedict. The food was deliciously prepared and elegantly presented. The waiter was friendly and courteous and attentive. The ambiance was great and they had USA Today available for free at the hostess station. Yeah. It's not the cheapest place in town but if you're a guest at the hotel/resort/spa it's pretty darn convenient and opens at a reasonable hour for all us "morning people". Oddly, the menu items are cheaper than the buffet. So my recommendation is to pass on the buffet unless you're really hungry and can get your money's worth.

We ate here as we were staying at the Hyatt. Awesome place to stay. Our meal was not awesome. Cream of crab soup was so salty it was in edible. Soups served at the conference were too salty. Not a little salty in edible salty. My burger was way undercooked asked for medium rare amid it was super rare. Raw in the middle. Taste was good. Just poor execution. Other patrons meals seems good and they were happy. Kitchen expediter needs to be more involved. Those meals should never have left the kitchen

I'm giving this place 4 stars because there is no 3.5 option. The menu is wicked limited. I even asked if I could have the larger, restaurant menu, but no luck. Tip: Inquire and sample the local brew on tap. There was one called 16 Mile when I stopped in that was off-the-charts-awesome. Tip: When I stopped in after a run around the property, I asked the bartender to fill my water bottle with ice/water, he kindly did. I ordered a crab cake sandwich with a chips and salsa starter. The bowl of chips, tri-color from a bag, dwarfed the 2 tablespoons of salsa. There was also a 1/2 a cup of sour cream. Maybe this is how some folks take their chips and salsa, not me. To her credit, when I asked for more salsa, the server brought me an appropriate amount along with a bowl of 'smoked salsa' which was quite tasty. When I asked her what was in it, she didn't know. The crab cake with fries, really lacked fries. It was the same amount that you might get at McDonald's if you ordered 1/2 of a small. No exaggeration. Other than that, the service was good, the crab cake was cooked well.

We had their breakfast buffet here twice as part of a B&B package. The standout of the buffet offerings were the scrambled eggs - they were cooked to perfection.

We ate there last night and except for the service, it was horrible. Our calamari was salty enough that it had to be returned. The salad was overdressed with a very acidic dressing but we ate it because we were hungry. My wife's vegetable lasagna was a pile of pasta with large pieces of green peppers, yellow peppers, and snap peas with ALOT of cheese on top. It was terrible. My mussels were over cooked but edible. The pumpkin pie was alright. The butternut squash soup was okay, too. The final act was finding out that our Makers Mark manhattan was $16 and the Bombay and tonic was $14. It's a beautiful space with unbelievably bad food. We're here for two more nights but won't be dining here those nights.

The restaurant is beautiful and the service is good, but the menu was not very extensive and the food was only ok. I ordered the seared sea scallops. The scallops were good but came with two types of tomatoes, cherry and regular. It was A LOT of tomatoes surrounding my scallops. The tomatoes were either sour or bitter. It didnt taste good! Other than two grilled pieces of onions, this dish was lacking in appearance. Some potatoes or risotto in the dish to act as a bed for the scallops would have been nice. It was $24 for four scallops. If I werent staying at the Hyatt hotel for my training I would not have eaten here.

Came here for lunch after checking into the Hyatt. Sadly, it was one of the worse dining experiences I've ever had. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was mostly empty. My kids' chicken pasta meal arrived with undercooked raw chicken!! I was furious! What a way to start off our vacation with the fear of my children getting sick on their first meal! The waitress was extremely apologetic and comped the meal but that doesn't make the experience even acceptable. I would steer away for this place and eat at Blue Provision instead.

Food is pretty good but overpriced. Atmosphere is great, the place is nice. The resort is beautiful. The breakfast buffet could be better. Expensive for what you get b/c the selection is not that great. They really should offer more variety for the buffet.

Great quality seafood. Pleasant water front location. Extremely friendly and attentive customer service. Good place to take the kids since sometimes they have an all-you-can eat buffet just for them, which comes in handy when you have picky eaters at the table! It's a bit pricey but worth it!

My husband and I ate here while staying at the resort for our anniversary. We made a little note in the reservation that we were celebrating our first anniversary of wedded bliss and the host was so attentive to it! We were seated alone in the glass enclosed patio of the restaurant, which looks out over the Chesapeake and the fireplace. We had excellent service and the food was delicious! They even threw in a free dessert and s'mores kit for us. I will always come back here for dinner while at or near the resort. The breakfast was always good as well - we never did the buffet, but ordered off the menu, and it was great; simple, American breakfast food, nothing super special, but certainly nothing bad.

Go for the food and not the service. The worst service I have ever experienced. Someone walked past our table and got sick. The response from the manager was they had to wait for security to clean it up. It took 20 minutes to do so. In the meantime they threw a towel over it until someone could take care of it. Won't come here again.

Typical overpriced resort buffet for captive guests. Kid options solid including Mac n cheese and veggies. Good dessert selection. Adult buffet had multiple options. Go early to avoid dining in dishes sitting under warming lights.

Pros- lamb chops were great. Beautiful space, nice hostess and amazing manager. Cons- mussels, crab cake and rude server who would not acknowledge my birthday and rudely told me her service was slow due to 40 top. Luckily management saved the day. The food still isn't great. I will not return.

The food is definitly overpriced for the quality. The location is really nice, but that's more on the resort than the restaurant. If you can eat anywhere else, do it. Even the buffet is a bad deal.

The only reason to eat here is for convenience, if you simply can't make it to ANY other location. The food is low-rate, overlooked and dated. Over priced wine list with low end selection. Food is one star. Denny's might be better, though I haven't eaten at Denny's for 25 years. Steak was cooked well done when medium was requested. Were those veggies cooked an hour ago? Did you order these desserts from somewhere outside the resort or were they left over from a wedding? More cons: over priced wine. Pros: good, local beer. Attentive service. Location. This review does not reflect our overall stay at the Hyatt. Great resort!

The food is bad...the service is Blah... The prices are high... Only reason to eat here would be if you have no choice at all...the other options in town are not that great either...the resort is really nice...good service...the restaurants ...different story...

Wish I had read the reviews before coming. The food is terrible... Had the buffet, but had to stick to the salad bad. The service was very good.

We ate here because we were staying here. And we will not repeat the experience. Dinner was striving for average, at best. The steak was paper thin (shockingly so for the cost); it did at least have some flavor. However, the side dishes left much to be desired -- the "adult" mac & cheese was far less enjoyable than the ones my kids had. On the note of kid's meals, that was done well, so good on them for that.

This is our first time in Maryland so we wanted to see how the seafood would taste. We are from the Pacific Northwest so we are pretty picky about our seafood. I ordered the pecan crusted salmon. The crust was pretty sweet and the salmon was quite juicy. The Brussels sprouts on the other hand were AMAZING! I don't know what kind of sauce they used, but it was tasty! They also had a special crab cake plate, but they weren't as flavorful as other crab cakes I've had. We sat in the adjacent room that had a view of the water, which was really nice.

Just checked in around noon and went down for a bite. It was a very nice crab cake sandwich and my wife's fish-n-chips was made to the order, one of the best we've ever had. Staff was courteous and had the coloring placemat and the crayons ready. No complaints here.

There may be dozens of tables open, make a reservation anyway as they keep tables closed. There's a 9% tax on alcoholic beverages. Table service is friendly. My appetizer portion of fried calamari was tender and spicy, but the temperature was not as hot as it should have been (not raw, just not hot), in addition, the portion size is easily enough for two or more, so take that into account. My main course was the Pork Osso Bucco. The flavor was good, portion size good, asparagus was almost raw and, like the appetizer, the plate was scalding hot but the food was only warm. My wife had a soup appetizer which she thought was very good, but her main dish, salmon, was served on a bed of risotto which I also tasted. The salmon was very tasty and well cooked, but the risotto, well cooked, lacked flavor. Their prices are moderate, the views are beautiful and again, the young wait staff is courteous and polite.
