(07/11/2013) OK Mexican food for being on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and not a Taco Bell (if you'd even call that "Mexican"). It's kind of a traditional stop on the way or to the beach in the summer for us. Extensive menu can be mix and match of pretty much anything. Platters come with refried beans and rice, very salty; pretty much everything was oversalted. Had the special Fish Tacos; was 3 microwaved (you can tell, the edges get tough) 7-inch tortillas with chunks of flat-top griddled, seasoned tilapia filets, lettuce, pico de gallo, smoked pepper sauce on the side. Tasted fine, expelled a lot of juice for some reason (gets the tortillas left on the plate a little soggy. A friend ordered a Chile Relleno and crunchy Beef Taco, the Combo #2. The waiter screwed up and gave her 2 beef tacos; they were fine, but the tacos sat in the beans on the platter and she had shell disintegration pretty fast. Another friend just had 3 Beef Tacos, soft; they were fine, but came with no garnish (at all, just ground beef in a tortilla), we had to ask for some fixings. Maybe North of the Border folks are just used to having a lot of garnish, I know in Mexico tacos are simply prepared with white onion, cilantro and some optional hot sauce, but I'm pretty sure most tourists head through Cambridge to the shore are looking for a Chi-chi's/Chevy's/Don Pablo's experience. Not saying they should pander, but they could pick one side of the spectrum and at least make it good. Service was disaffected (could hear in the dining room some argument from the back of the house about someone wanting to take a break and threatening to not come back), inaccurate, and uninformative (no free refills on drinks learned only after the check came and the refills had been drunk). Must be plenty of folks on the shore jonesing for some Mexican food though, as they just opened their ninth location, hoping they can step up their game a little, but we'll probably keep on stopping.

I'm surprised no one has reviewed this restaurant yet! We arrived on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was 50% full of diners. There were seven of us and all of us thought this place was great. They have happy hour deals until 7pm. They have a special for a 32 oz beer for $3.75. I dont drink, but I know that is crazy cheap! Some of us ordered margaritas and others ordered sangria. Everyone drank their drink to the last drop. The group ordered chicken quesadilla, chicken fajitas, chicken enchiladas, and shrimp fajitas. Everyone enjoyed their dish. I ordered the crab quesadilla and thought it was delicious. There were a lot of pieces of real crab in the quesadilla! All of the orders came with rice and beans/salad. They also provided complimentary tortilla chips (freshly made). They gave us salsa as well as a white sauce that tasted like spicy ranch sauce. It was yummie!!! Service was attentive and cooperative. We asked for separate checks and our waitress didnt even flinch! This place is awesome! Overall a great experience!

We love Mexican food. We've never been to a Mexican restaurant in which we didn't at least like the food; even Taco Bell! Except this one, everything was bad. I give it two stars only because it's in a rural area where perhaps expectations should be low.

This place was a welcome surprise. We weren't expecting to find such delicious margaritas. The food wasn't bad either. Actually, the fajitas Plaza were quite tasty with a nice assortment of meats and perfectly cooked shrimp. The pollo asada was also cooked perfectly and was quite flavorful. But, the Texas margaritas were really the showcase. The only minor complaint was that the service was a bit slow at times. Nothing really bad and the delays were getting our check and paying it, so at least they're not trying to rush you out.

Great food, draft XXs. Quick stop heading down route 50. My wife had the Chile Relleno and I has the Supremo Burrito (beef)- both good choices. Funky atmosphere and attentive service.

Fast, attentive service, every single time. Very friendly atmosphere, and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Personal favorite? #124 Chilaquiles! The food is authentic and consistent, you're guaranteed a good meal, and the portions are big! I would recommend Tapatia to anyone!

We went there a few days ago for lunch Atmosphere: Very typical. Probably what you would see in a small town mexican restaurant. Mexican music playing in the background. Tacky decoration. Spacious. Booths. Unfortunately, outside is very ugly including the parking lot, very rundown. Food: I'm not a huge fan of mexican food. With that said, the tortillas with salsa were delicious and probably made in-house. I had the stuffed pepper, with spanish rice and refried beans. All fresh and good.. They sell beer and wine, including a good selection of mexican brew. Service: 5 Star. Courteous, fast. Price: Very affordable.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
