This was the best thing we did and ate in our 1 day trip to Cambridge. We had a couple of donuts, coffee, milk, and a steak breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was AMAZING! I was very surprised and didn't expect much, but damn it was good. The donuts were delicious and went perfect with coffee and milk. Best of all, my wife and I both had a fantastic breakfast for $10. You can't beat that. This is a nice, cute place on the side of the road and it is truly worth a stop. Keep up the fabulous service and food!

I am a local who frequents the bakery often. They are always accommodating for my last minute requests for baked goods. They save me so much time when I have so many guests at my house. I constantly get their fresh donuts and butter cookies in which my grand-kids love (and so do their parents). My guest constantly rave about how fresh the donuts are even when sometimes I have to pick them up the day before. The variety of specialty breads I have bought are so good. I recommended them to a friend whose daughter chose her venue in Cambridge and not only were the wedding cakes (the tasting must have went great because the family chose 3 cakes) beautiful but delicious. The weekends are busy so be patient (worth the wait).

Great selection. Fresh pastries, breads, muffins, donuts and more. Really a wonderful bakery. Seems like it should be located downtown within walking distance of everything instead of on Rt. 50 bit it's charming inside and soooooo fantastic. Worth the drive,

Amazing fresh donuts and pastries

I think , from what I have been told ,that they have moved. They are now on the eastbound side of Rt. 50. This place is awesome. It is not just a bakery of sweets. My friend and I went in for lunch. She got a sticky bun because it is her favorite. However, I wanted a real lunch and boy did I get it. I had the portobello sandwich , which was the best Portobello sandwhich I have ever had. Iit took awhile to prepare the mushroom in the oven. The onions were sautéed and not strong. It had a pesto and roasted red pepper on it. Anyway it was DELICIOUS and on homemade bread. I also bought 2 cinnamon raisin buns for my husband. They are very hard to find in this part of the Eastern Shore. Especially hard to find them with RAISINS and they have them with and without them. They are also GREAT! The prices are very reasonable. I can't wait to go back and try something else. Went back and got a BLT. It also was great. The bacon was thick sliced and lean, fresh lettuce and tomato on homemade bread. The bread was crunchy ( I like it that way). My husband got the Reuben and he said it was delicious. This lunch was Saturday and the bakery goods were picked over and not as fresh as they would be first thing in the AM. 5 stars in my book. Go early!

Incredible pastries (huge apple walnut croissant shaped as a muffin and perfect melted in your mouth with the right amount of crispiness almond croissant) and average coffee at a fair price at this kid-friendly and popular bakery! You can eat on the premises on clean tables for free or have your order to go. The cleanliness of the women bathroom was ok. The men's ones were clean. It was easy and free to park.

While I love stopping at this bakery and really think their donuts are so amazing, I was a bit surprised at the demeanor of the girls working here one Wednesday morning. There was one woman being helped by one of the girls. I stood next to this woman and was waiting patiently, when I noticed four girls standing behind the taller pastry counter chatting. One of them actually turned around, made eye contact with me, and proceeded to take a sample of bread they had sitting on the counter and went back behind the larger case to eat it...all while I am standing there waiting to buy some donuts! After several minutes went by, one of the four girls that were chatting behind the larger case finally decided to help me. While I love the donuts here, I will most likely continue to visit, despite this experience, and hope it does not happen again. I don't mind that the girls were talking with each other, but when there are customers present, that should be the priority, not eating samples and chatting with coworkers!

THE bakery in Cambridge! They open early, bake fresh daily and are always welcoming and friendly. Wide variety of donuts, sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, great breads and cookies (including my favorite snickerdoodles!), coffee cakes and cakes. I recently ordered a cake for a birthday. It was going to be celebrated on the Fourth of July. All I said was what to write to the birthday person on the top of the cake. The cake was chocolate as I ordered, vanilla frosting as I ordered but the top decorations were out of this world - colorful stars and swirls - very festive! And the cake was delicious and made everyone smile! This is the Only bakery to go to in Cambridge.

We are long time fans of the bakery. We use them for all of our parties and events but we normally get simple plain Jane things done. This time we tasked them with some what of a challenge. Gena and i corresponded through email and she completely worked with me. I ordered a figurine for the cake and asked her to incorporate it. They did a beautiful job! Their cake actually looks better then the cake design I originally sent them! And of course - it is delicious. Everything from them is! Definitely would recommend them to anyone on the shore.

Just discovered this place thanks to Yelp! I'm always looking for unique places to stop on the way from Baltimore to Ocean City so I can avoid the typical fast food traps. On a recent trip to the beach, we stopped in for breakfast. The store looks tiny, but was much bigger inside with a decent amount of tables and it even has a drive thru!! So cute. It was really hard to choose from all of the options! We tried a sampling of donuts. I LOVED the glazed. This donut reminded me of an old fashioned glazed pre DD/Krispy Kreme/Fractured Prune. We also tried a donut topped with crushed oreos, a chocolate covered, and a cake red velvet. They were all great, but I really just loved the basic glazed the most. They also had other baked goods....muffins, croissants, pastries, etc. and huge donuts that you slice like a cake and serve a crowd! Wish I lived closer because these would be perfect for a work breakfast or a group brunch. I also want to try a breakfast sandwich, which a lot of the locals seemed to be picking up. Oh and lastly, they had nice clean bathrooms which is always nice for a pit stop on the way to the beach!

This is a great place to get fresh baked goods. They have a great selection of donuts (yeast and cake), cupcakes, cookies, croissants, birthday cakes, and a variety of fresh yeast breads (raisin, cinnamon, wheat). They make custom cakes for your event. They have freshly brewed coffee and hot sandwiches.

Fantastic donuts! I may have sampled a pastry or two, but honestly don't recall. I do recall everything that I did sample as being really quite good. This is a great bakery, which locals clearly love as each time I went there were lots of people having breakfast.

Stopped by to eat lunch after traveling across the country without food. I was so hungry I could have eaten my suitcase. Fortunately Bay City was my reward. It's worth going a bit out of the way for. It's where the locals eat. Even though by 1:00 they were out of their famous croissants, our sandwiches were excellent. Mine was black forest ham with pineapple and coleslaw. I could have eaten two. Followed great chips and pickle , red velvet cupcake and creme cheese danish and washed down with sweet tea, my jet lagged kicked in. When I woke up.. there were crumbs so I knew I didn't dream it. Go there if you're on the Eastern Shore.

Awesome bakery items. We went there Christmas Eve and ended up with dinner rolls, biscuits, a Christmas type loaf that was out of this world, and raisin bread. I have been buying pastries there for awhile and this place never disappoints!

Without a doubt, the very best doughnuts you'll ever eat! The bread is nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a loaf with a good, crusty exterior and a chewy interior, I'd stop by Panera on your way through town... But, again, the doughnuts are out of this world! And their custom cakes are fairly good as well. Definitely worth passing up the local Dunkin' Donuts on your way to the beach!

Oh my! What a gem of a bakery! Every baked good we have tried has been amazing! Donuts (which are cleaned out by the afternoon hours), cinnamon rolls (unfortunately with raisins that I had to pick out so that slightly spoiled my experience), cupcakes, apple fritters, chocolate sour cream cake are all excellent. The breads--we have sampled sourdough, cinnamon, flax and seeds, and country white so far--are also outstanding. The real star, however, is the toffee bar. If you are a fan of sweet and salty, you have got to try the toffee almond bar--a true slice of heaven. I'm a little disappointed in the coffee, but that's probably my own issue as I am never ever happy with any coffee that is not Starbucks or Peet's. If you are on the way to the beach, then you've got to check out this bakery! Just check the hours first--they close early which has led to many a disappointed little face in the backseat of my minivan.

We picked up some of the fare at Crabtoberfest and it was fantastic!! The custard in the Boston Cream is so very good. Super awesome German sausage and pretzels. We will be stopping in the next time we cross the bridge.

We love this place! Homemade pastry, donuts, bread- all are delicious. Be sure and try the sticky buns and the breakfast sandwiches! Eat in and chat with the locals, or bring a crowd and sit a t the big farm table. Day old bread is only a buck. Lunch is soups and great sandwiches .

Great fresh donuts. Easy to get to off route 50 in Cambridge. Can't wait to go back and try the pastries. Very clean. Friendly staff.

This place has delicious donuts.

The donuts off the wall. Type 2 diabetes here I come! It's right off the side of the highway so if you're driving by its a must.

The Double Chocolate donut is great! It's Glazed AND frosted. The best way to go really. It seems almost impossible to find a good cake donut on the Eastern Shore, but then you find Bay Country Bakery. The earlier the better, as true donut fans know.

Best doughnuts around. Interesting little place with lots of lunch specials. Crowd can be a bit.....trendy at times with my last visit overhearing another patron proclaiming "it's just so hard to find a good biscotti in Dorchester County" /eye roll. But, very nice staff and lots of great food.

Bay Country Bakery was really an extraordinary representation of what a donut should really taste like. When you walk in the door you are immediately swept off your feet by the scent of donut dough. Every donut was soft and the employees were kind. The Oreo Donut and the Sugar Donut were two of my favorites but they all were amazing. In addition to their donuts they also have a variety of pastries from cakes to rolls and even wedding cakes. They also sell breakfast sandwiches and though you have to pay 50 cents for water it is pure tasting and comes with free refills. Even though their isn't much to do in Cambridge, Maryland Bay Country Bakery is definitely a place you should check out.
