Nicoletti's started out to be a pretty good restaurant for me but then it was all down hill from there. The pizza was delicious but now it's so inconsistently done that's it's hit or miss. EVERY time I order a sub they mess it up. The last time I ordered a sub the onions must have been the bottom of the barrel, they were slimy and translucent. They were raw people...translucent. The lettuce was brown...YUCK They say all the food is fresh but, I beg to differ. There is one employee there that is really sweet and pleasant the rest including the management need to work one more shift and quit. Most of the employees spend more time talking to each other than waiting on customers... Hence the long wait times for simple orders an empty restaurant. The straw that broke the camels back was the mouse that I saw running under the drink station. I am officially done with Nicoletti's.

So, after taking a survey from coworkers on the best pizza place in the area this place was the vote. My dad is in town and wanted to go to a sit down pizza joint. We ordered the large pizza with all the toppings and in minutes was delivered to our table. Nice fresh toppings but was mostly fucused on the center of the pie (where they tend to fall off easily). The 2 of us couldn't finish the pizza, it was so loaded with toppings. The Place was very busy so kinda loud. The experience was what was expected. It's a pizza joint. I'm good for maybe 2 or 3 visits a year, maybe a few take outs.

Best pizza around! I just wish they delivered.

We always come in for pizza and salad bar. We are originally from buffalo NY, and their pizza is the closest to home. We have tried others around town but we enjoy theirs the most. And I can't resist a salad bar.

By far the worst pizza and calzone I have ever had in my entire life. The topping where oily and cold. The crust was soggy. It was as if it had all been dropped in a puddle of water picked up and set I front of me to eat. Whoever was responsible for making my meal made little to no effort in regards to quality assurance. I will never set foot in this place again. A surprise visit from a food inspector would probably shut them down.

My pizza was cold and sloppy not well put together. I will not go back here again for this over priced mess. Not to mention I had to wait in line for 30mins for a pick up. Who ever made this pizza should be ashamed of themselves. They took no personal pride in my order. Not what I was expecting for a mom and pop place

usually I crave food from here, but it's progressively gotten worse with time. tonight... tonight was just off! we got my husband's favorite pizza, the philly cheesesteak, and the amount of sauce was a disgusting amount of overkill. it honestly may as well have been a mouth full of butter, it just over powered E V E R Y T H I N G ! it also made it impossible to pick up as the entire sheet of toppings slide off just trying to move it or transfer a slice from the box to the plate, forget about trying to get it from plate to mouth! the crust, by the way tasted like blueberries!? just all in all bad pizza! we also finally got some tiramisu gelato... it really breaks my heart to say that the idea of it is better than the actual thing. I couldn't even finish the 2 Wendy's frosty type snoops I had in my bowl. I doubt I'll be back for AWHILE!

I reviewed this place about a year ago after my first visit. This is my first time back since and my opinion hasn't changed. This time around, I was charged for someone else's order and was greeted by a belching waitress on the way to my table. My table was unclean as was the appearance of the staff and surroundings. A fly was competing with me for my food and drink for the duration. At least the pizza wasn't soggie this time and actually tasted OK.

Great pizza and a good salad bar. Only a couple of beers on tap, though... (one star off for that).

This casual Italian restaurant has a broad menu, great lasagna, and the pizza is pretty good too. Its an older operation so they pretty much know their stuff, and what I mean by that is they make a good chicken salad sandwich. Now every experience cant be perfect, but though the pizza and salad bar buffet the offer is fresh by buffet standards, the silverware has had soap residue on it several times that I have visited, which makes it appear less than clean. I've also noticed the air conditioning is a bit weak. If you are feeling a little warm try to get a table in the back of the restaurant where the steps lead to a lower floor level. It'll be cooler there. The building is older, maybe a bit worn out like the trivia cards at most tables that you'll discover have a target audience of your grandparents. Its good food, good service, and a good price. Not a whole lot more to ask for.

Pizza is great when it comes fresh out of the oven. We went during the lunch time and got the pizza buffet, which is pretty cool, but the pizza was dry from the heat lamps. We did go again later in the week with family from out of town and ordered pizza and it was amazing! I will come back to this establishment again in the future and would recommend to others to eat at to.

Very nice place with lots of food to give! I came here for lunch with a couple of my friends. You first order your food at the cash register, and they give you a number to put on your table. Service was friendly and quick! Our food came out not too long after getting our drinks. My friends both ordered calzones, and they loved it. On top that, they ordered their buffalo wings (which came with ranch) and cheesy fries (topped with bacon bits and came with sour cream). I favored the wings more, and the cheesy fries were not so cheesy. But they were both filling. For my main order, I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. Oh my goodness, it was really good. It also came with a few slices or garlic bread. Prices were reasonable, and the service was great! For families with young children, they also have a small play area with toys, which is definitely different from normal restaurants. Give it a try if you're in the area! The friend who recommended it says it's one of his favorites in the area.

I saw they had a pizza buffet, which I think is a great way to try a new pizza place. When I got there found out it's only on weekdays. My daughter really wanted pizza, so we stayed and ordered a small pepperoni. I was surprised they didn't have topping options, just a cheese pizza and add whatever toppings you want extra. I think it was a little expensive, but at least they didn't skimp on the portion. The pizza was greasy, a little more than normal, but overall was ok. Not really impressed. I do want to try other items next time, so I can have a better opinion of the place.

I LOVE NICOLLETTI's PIZZA!!! It is the best pizza in St. Mary's County, MD. It reminds me a little of New York because they make their pizza fresh. Fresh dough, tomato sauce, and cheese. I do not care for the rest of their food because it is not real Italian food but the pizza is GREAT!!!. Aside from the pizza, there is a sweet lady that bus tables that is always very nice to me when I eat lunch there and makes me want to keep coming back to Nicolletti's. Even though the pizza is great, I HAVE A WARNING FOR ALL OF YOU!!! DO NOT PAY WITH CREDIT CARDS because even though you write down ZERO dollars for tip, they will charge your credit card an additional $0.50 or more. This is because they are charging tips anyways. I noticed this in my credit card statement after comparing it to my receipt. Also do not leave your tips on credit cards because the employees do not get it and the owners keep it. This is why many of the people that works there are angry and they have a high turn over. I pay cash at the register and leave cash tip at the table.

Pizza is always on point, we go veggie pizza and the kids get cheese! The salad bar is clean and the fresh salad & veggies are iced down, changed often when low-someone is always making sure that the salad bar rails are clean for the next guests-even when they're busy.

This place is the only nice looking pizza place around, but given the location you don't have a lot of choices. Which sucks, because I really wanted to like this place. I actually came here twice, the first time they hadn't opened yet but the second time I came-- around dinner hours, they were practically an empty restaurant.. with plenty of employees which I found kind of weird. Anyways, so they have three different sizes of pies. You can only order pies!! There are no slices!! I BELIEVE the sizes are 10", 12" and 14" or 16" I'm not sure. And all the pies are made fresh to order, there are no pies hanging out for display and just for reheat. This is really reminiscent of Grimaldi's from NY if you get the chance to go, except this place is not brick oven pizza. They are not cheap on the toppings which I was pleased with and it does smell delicious but I think that this place is really over priced for what I got. This establishment taste VERY similar to Papa John's, except their tomato sauce is a little more sour which I did not appreciate. Moreover, I had their gelato -- A small cup is already very filling, they put like 4 scoops on that little thing and it is WAYYY too sweet! I do however appreciate that the cheese does not come off on a hot slice. That's nice.. Didn't have much service since I got it for take out but hey, the lady didn't seem that bad.

This place could be amazing if it wasn't Roach and mice infested.. it needs to be overhauled.

It used to be really good, being from the northeast it was the closest to home type pizza! Now it's old, taste has gone down hill the last year or so! I recommend you find a different place to eat!

The pizza is tasty. Ate here twice. lots of ingredient choices, quick service. Wish they served coke products. The interior is okay and fairly clean.

If you think you're going to have a romantic dinner in a cozy Italian restaurant, you've come to the wrong place. We came for the first time on a Wednesday night (our date night - an effort to avoid lines and children), and probably should have left when we entered the front door and were almost bowled over by a couple of screaming kids as they played chase in the lobby. The place is cute and the salad bar is good, but the pizza isn't anything to write home about and having to sit through screaming and running children put a damper on our "romantic" evening. We know better, and will reserve this place for lunches only.

This place has great pizza--its on the greasy side so beware, but if you're like me a greasy pizza is where it's at! The service is great. This is also a great joint for parties.

Not a bad deal for the money. We fed our family of 5 for 22.50 not including tip (youngest 2 were free, 3 and under get free buffet). We all had the buffet and I thought the pizza was decent. Not New York style, the crust was fluffier and there was more sauce and cheese than a NY style pie, but still good. The salad bar/buffet area was well-attended and kept clean and restocked on a fairly busy Thursday at noon. It was after Labor Day, I can see how the place could get mobbed during high season and then I'm not sure it would be as much fun to bring the kids there. Overall I'd have to say my husband and I would probably prefer something else but when the kids want pizza... Soft drink was included with $9 buffet. Pasta salads on buffet were meh.

They have a lunch buffet that is pretty good. Way better than Cici's by a longshot. They even have a little play area packed with toys and books to keep little ones entertained (probably not ideal for parents who are germ-a-phobes, which I'm not). They also have a regular full menu, plenty of seating. Great for large parties. Pretty quiet after the buffet ends at 2pm. You pay for your order when you walk in, then they bring it to you at your table (unless it's the buffet, then they give you your plate at the register).

Awesome pizza! Lots of sauce and cheese (no need to pay for extra of either). The sauce is nice without being too sweet or salty. Thick crust, almost like a deep dish.

Nicolletti's lunch pizza and salad bar buffet is awesome. They are always pretty crazy busy so the salad bar is refreshed often and always full of yummy, fresh ingredients. They also have a good selection of pasta salads and...my favorite....cottage cheese. The pizza is above average. As a friend and I discussed yesterday, it is not the best pizza we have ever tasted, but it is amazing comfort food and will keep hungry bellies coming back for more. And an above average pizza buffet for around $8 is top notch in my book! The service is difficult to yelp about, as they don't have much of a wait staff. You simply order and pay up front, they give you a number, and bring your pizza or other savory italian dishes straight to your table. I can say that I have never had a negative experience handing my credit card to the cashier...so that has to count for something, right? I guess this is a boring review. I like nicolletti's a whole lot. There is not much more I can say.

I went to Nicolletti's recently with my mom because she said she just wanted a good salad and Nicolletti's was the place to get one. She was right! Niccolletti's has an awesome salad bar that even includes a pasta bar. I loved the lack of frills too -- this is a laid back pizza joint that happens to have good pizza and a great salad bar. You order at the front counter, get your own plates, silverware, and drinks, get as much salad as you want, and get your pizza delivered to the table. I was full after the salad -- they had multiple different types of lettuce, a full bar of toppings including cottage cheese (which is very important in my family) and real bacon bits, as well as a variety of dressings (and the ranch was really good!). They also had at least 6 types of pasta salad. I'm not a pasta salad person, but the two I tried were good. For pizza, my mom and I split a white pizza. We only ate half of it (and took the rest home), but it was very good. It had really good garlic flavor and a nice combination. My mom and I agreed that even though neither one of us liked ricotta cheese that much, the combo of ricotta and mozzarella worked on this pizza given the nice amount of flavor. Overall, we left very pleased!

The lunch buffet is awesome. I can't leave with out feeling like a real fatty. The pizza is my favorite in St. Marys county. They are a little pricey outside of the buffet though. The gelato is good too and its the only one I've found in the area. The pasta and subs aren't that bad either. I like to buy their dough too to make my own calzones. The salad bar rocks too. I really like some of their pasta salads.

Moved to area from NJ 2 & 1/2 years ago and for a while Nicolletti's was the best available... not quite NY/NJ pizza, but pretty good all-in-all. Lately, however, the quality of the pizza, the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant have begun to decline. Tried recently to order a "Philly Cheese-Steak" over the phone, explaining that we wanted steak, cheese, onions & peppers. Nothing else. Actually that is pretty much what we got: steak and 'nothing else', no cheese, no onions no peppers !? We called, to complain, (we're from New Jersey, its what we do,) but were informed that the manager was "too busy to speak to us." You could not get away with this in the Garden State. Lately if one asks for a "thin-crust pizza" it is usually too limp to eat with your hands; a knife & fork are required. We were advised that all thin-crust pizza is like this, that you can't order it this way and expect crust to be "crisp." As noted in the opening sentence, we are from New Jersey --my wife from Brooklyn, in fact-- we have both been eating thin-crust pizza for a long time. Never before have we had to resort to utensils ! Recently the taste of the pizza has changed rather dramatically, and not for the better. My son-in-law and several friends have noticed this unpleasant change, as well. The consensus being that the sauce has been altered. The final straw, (for us, at any rate) occurred, last Friday, the 13th of December, coincidentally, when a neighbor reported visiting Nicolletti's for lunch, only to be greeted by a parade of roaches crawling the floor. Before leaving in a haste, she mentioned this unappetizing situation to a worker who explained that they had just "sprayed" (this at lunch-time, mind you) and the cockroaches were running away. Our neighbor followed suit, posting photos on her Facebook Page The servers working at Nicolletti's are extremely cordial and customer friendly. However, there seems to be no structure. It should be known that we are seriously disappointed that we can no longer count on a Nicolletti's pizza and a Netflix movie, shared with friends as a regular Saturday night tradition. While several local Chinese and Thai restaurants are quite good, it is not the same as Saturday night Pizza...

This is St. Mary's County's main local pizza joint. The pies are about 6 on a 10 scale where Domino's is about a 5. The salad bar is better than average. The prices are fair. The service is odd. You line up at the cash register, order, pay, and are handed plastic glasses and a melamine salad plate (if you ordered salad), and a hard plastic number thingee that you put on your table so the food runner knows where to bring your order. Make sure your number thingee is showing or your food will wander the dining area like the Lost Dutchman until it gets too cold to eat. Kids sometimes get a bit rowdy in the play area but, it's nothing like Chuck-e-Cheese which is the best substitute for birth control since the pill was invented. I digress. Don't forget to fill your plastic cup with ice and soda (or tea) on the way to the table. I take my kids to Nicolletti's a few times a year and we're never disappointed. I don't know how to tip here, though. I can't see tipping the cashier for taking my order, nobody has done anything for me at that point. I can't see tipping the food runner because he/she really hasn't done much either. I don't know how to tip the kitchen so, this setup would not be a great place to work if you have to live on tips. On the other hand, it's great for cheap people who hate to tip. Nicolletti's is a safe bet for pizza or calzone (ask for extra marinara) with a salad and a soft drink at a reasonable price.

Not bad for SOMD. Went there for lunch had the buffet for $8. The Pizza was good, nice variety and fresh, salad bar was not the freshest as it could be and the dessert was great. Nice little place..

In my opinion, this is the best pizza in Southern Maryland. I've been coming here for pizza for 20+ years. For lunch, the pizza buffet can't be beat. For About 8.50 a person you can't go wrong. The salad bar was blah average, but that's not why people come here to start with. I fully recommend this place for an enjoyable lunch buffet or for pizza on general!!!

    (4)
  • Julie P.

If I could rate it with zero stars I would. The idea of paying for your food and then hoping like heck there is a table is completely ridiculous. In addition, I watched a runner wander around the restaurant on three separate occasions looking the the table to deliver to. I wish I could say the food was worth it. But alas that's not possible. The "bruschetta" is, honest to God, garlic bread with a tablespoon of chopped tomato. How is this italian? Don't waste your time or money.

    (1)
  • Jonathan G.

The most average Italian take-out ever. They have beer, but it's only the usual swill you find everywhere else. They have pizza, but it's not even up to Pizza Hut standards. They have subs, but the meat is always overdone and the bread is hard. They have a salad bar, but the selection is small. It's not terrible food, and it's relatively inexpensive, but you'd get the same meal by buying something from Giant's frozen section.

    (2)
  • Brian F.

Nicoletti's is good for Southern Maryland, which isn't really saying much because the area is devoid of good pizza. However, it's the best in St. Mary's County and worth the trip if you live here and are craving pizza. At least it's better than the chain pizza shops. Their lunch buffet is great because the salad bar is fresh and has a lot of options.

    (3)
  • Brigitte H.

My family and I love to go to Nicoletti's! The pizza is WAY better than pizza hut, dominos or any other "fast food" pizza place!!! (they make the dough fresh...the kids love watching them make the pizzas through the window) Monday thru Friday they have a very good buffet and if you order any kids meal, it comes with their yummy gelato! I personally like their pastas and subs, but my kids and husband always get pizza. I didn't give it 5-stars because when they have private parties in the three back rooms, there isn't enough seating for everyone else. Other than that, it's a great place to go!

    (4)
  • Marcia S.

I've only eaten here twice because it is so busy and loud, which is not a bad thing especially with kids. The pizza is great and they have a great variety of toppings to choose from. I don't live in the area anymore, but I always convince my husband to pick up a pizza every once in a while on his way home. I recommend getting a pizza with a thicker crust, it's pretty tasty!

    (5)
  • David G.

Had a chicken parmigiana pizza - awesome idea that might have been better if the chicken was breaded - take-out. Pretty decent without being outstanding; very competent without being surprising. The dough was slightly sweet and the sauce had small chunks of tomato. If I don't mind eating the small sections of a pizza that are missing cheese it's a good sign. If the price was a little lower ($13 for a 10" "medium" pizza) I'd give Nicolletti's four stars.

    (3)
  • J B.

If this place had animatronic animals, it would be a typical kids birthday spot. A great spot for families with young kids. Very family friendly. Trivia cards at the tables make it fun to quiz your dining company. The pizza is nothing special, good for kids. The pasta is again, nothing special, but good for kids. They also have calzones and subs, but I haven't tried them. The salad bar isn't always the freshest - it's hit or miss.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
