Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I came here for dinner a few weeks ago while on a business trip in the area. A coworker had recommended the mac n cheese so we stopped by to see how it was, and I'm really glad we did. We got there about an hour before closing. All of the staff were super friendly and came by to chat. Since it was pretty close to closing time, we each got a free order of peach cobbler. The pulled pork sandwich was great and the cobbler was fantastic, but for me the highlight of the meal was definitely the mac n cheese. When we mentioned this, the girl at the cash register sent us home with a free pint, which made a great lunch the next day. The staff were really warm and friendly, and the restaurant décor was patriotic and one-of-a-kind. The people who worked here really seemed to care about the restaurant's message and mission. I just wish they had opened a restaurant closer to where I live!

Good ol American BBQ with a patriotic business plan! Cafeteria-style ordering procedures with food-truck back-country smoked BBQ! Absolutely delicious and awesome because they leave it plain so you can taste the quality of meet before slathering it in one of 6 different BBQ-sauces (from Texas, to West Virginia, to Maryland's own that mixes a bit of old bay, yuck! that ranges from smokey to sweet to a lil spicy) provided to you at the front or on each table. Prices are perfect for the portions and you even feel satisfied. Some unique qualities: Star-spangled banner plays everyday at noon and the whole restaurant stands at attention, dedications to all the military branches and all the civilian services, patches and stickers are strewn about haphazardly, and finally they keep all the small items (condiments, lids, straws, etc.) in a tool box with drawers! Ingenious!

I came here with a coworker during my business trip. I was shocked at how fast they got our food. The waitress was extremely nice too. They play the national anthem every day at noon (we left before that unfortunately). I will definitely come here again when I'm out here for travel.

My family and I decided to try out Mission, yesterday during lunch hours. It doesn't work like a standard, sit-down restaurant. On entry, you are greeted with a shout, by all the staff. Then, you walk to the back wall of the restaurant, where the ordering line is. The menu is pretty basic, and only about twice as expensive as fast food. The order came up, super fast, as we filled our drinks and sat down. The portion size of the meats aren't as enormous as the standard "southern barbecue", but it is still dang delicious. I tried the brisket and the pulled pork, which were both very good. The sausage is pretty much just standard sausage. All of the sides are really good. I highly recommend this place to anyone that isn't vegan, though I'm not sure if they have vegan items or not. In summary, fast, filling, and delicious.

So let me say that I've tried pretty much everything they have here since I came here for a wedding tasting! And I loved it all! Pulled pork is delicious, turkey is delicious and the beef is delicious! I prefer the lean brisket but that's just me. The Mac-n-cheese is TO DIE FOR! It's the best I've had at any barbecue place I've ever been to. Sooooo good, you MUST get it. The other sides are also delicious. My other favorites are the green beans and baked beans. Unlimited sauce at your table?! Does it get any better?! The bay-b-cue is soooooo good and so unique. I also love the smoky mountain. You'll just have to try them all. They're catering our wedding! And I'm sure it will be delicious!

This place is amazing. By the time you order your food and get your drink the good is ready. James the manger is so nice. We were sitting at our table and he came over to make sure everything was going good and if we needed anything. After he talked to us he went around to all the other tables and talked to them as well. The sweet tea is amazing and the brisket and pulled pork is great! Add a little Bay-B-Que and it's to die for! Try the Maggie's Mac and Cheese, it's hands down the best I've ever had. This is a great place to grab a bite, we loved it so much we are having them do our wedding! The only negative about this place is it's not all you can eat Mac and Cheese.

Among the most American places I've ever been. I came into the block to check out HighTide Games, but they weren't open yet so I decided kill some time by eating delicious meat. Right as you walk in, the girl at the register yells at you. Nobody ever yells back. I let her know it was my first time, and she walked me through the options. Brisket: trim or marbled, half chickens, pulled chicken, sausage: classic or jalepeno cheddar, pork, various sides. She told me that nothing is oiled (didn't know people did that, but sure) and that everything is smoked in the smokers. I held back on asking dumb questions about the smokers and this "oil" thing. Is that really a thing people do with their meat? Intrigued by this "Jalepeno cheddar" thing, which she said was her favorite, I went with that, marbled brisket, and pork, with an extra large "Wounded Warrior" Dr Pepper and [Insert American name]'s Cheesy Potatoes. Apparently last Sunday literally everyone ordered the Classic sausage, which she found amusing. Said it was a "Classic Sunday". Must be some kind of American joke. I made my way over in front of their prep-tables, where another guy started telling me that there's no oil and that everything is smoked in their smokers. We had a nice discussion about the various barbeque sauces. Apparently his favorite is the Bay-B-Q, because he likes Old Bay, because this is Maryland. The food was presented to me in classic barbeque style: on a tray with parchment paper. An unexpected cornbread sat beside the piles of meat, but no other bread. Can't win them all. I went to my table, and began eating. The brisket wasn't as marbly as I expected, but the pork was appropriately moist and soft. The jalepeno cheddar sausage was the standout of the meal. In addition to the usual things that go into sausage, all of which are completely unidentifiable, there were little pockets of melted cheese that would blast in your mouth as you chewed. A shocking and delicious experience. Cheesy Potatoes are always good, but I'd put these at mid-high tier. I think next time I'll try the mac and cheese. I had only gotten 2-3 bites into the meal, when I heard over the loudspeakers "Please rise, as we sing, as we always do at noon, the national anthem". Everyone stopped, stood, and sang the national anthem. After we finished, everyone clapped for a bit before returning to their piles of meat and cheese. I'm fairly certain that various veterans work/eat here. Probably just a coincidence from our proximity to the naval base. One ancient dude with a limp must have thought I was staring at him while waiting around for the game store to open, because he came over and gave me a hug. A lot of people working there seemed to know him, so he must come by and give them hugs pretty often. The guy cleaning tables also had a bit of a limp and was pretty tall, so I assume he was in the military. Overall, it was pretty good. I think next time I'll do a sandwich with the cheesy sausage and mac+cheese. I will then put the mac and cheese into the sandwich and eat it that way.

There's always some sort of Southern hospitality that comes with BBQ places, and this place has it in spades. The workers are really nice, the food is mouthwatering and the the prices are decent! I ordered the NC pulled pork sandwich with cheesy potatoes and chili on the side. For a bonus, my coworkers all gave me their cornbread because they're "cutting down". The BBQ itself was so tasty and moist. They literally overstuffed the sandwich so much that I wished I ordered fries or something. To compliment the meat they have 6 flavors of sauce, which I really only used 2. The BBQ and the smoked. I know my boss really liked the buffalo one though. The chili was amazing. It was really chunky, just the way I like it. I mixed cornbread into it also, but that's just a personal preference. The cornbread itself isn't amazing, but that may be due to it being cold by the time I got to it. I would recommend buying a sandwich if you're going for pulled meats. I definitely wanna try a rack of ribs the next time I go!

So this was a pleasant surprise. Lunch here is fast and efficient but that is not a knock on their food. The food, was well seasoned and smoked just right. Heck they have some massive smokers. I got the chicken special and it came with 8oz. of meat, cornbread and a side and drink for $3 more. That's plenty of meat for lunch and nothing felt greasy at all. The order system is similar to a cafeteria line but the staff is very friendly. The best part is that they are a very patriotic establishment and everyone even stopped at noon and sang our national anthem. Will definitely stop in again and try some more of their meaty treats.

I've only eaten here 3 times but I LOVE it. I always get the half chicken with green beans & coleslaw. My boyfriend always gets a 3-choice combo so we've tried everything. He says the brisket is hit or miss. (He's eaten here a lot). Even the turkey is the best I've ever had. So moist. 6 choices of sauce is nice to have. The "Memphis Belle" is my favorite. Then "Smokey Mountain." No other BBQ comes even close to theirs around here.

Because my partner in crime loves BBQ, we had to check out Mission BBQ while we were visiting relatives in California, Maryland. Since we live in Orlando, we are obviously spoiled by a local place called 4 Rivers so I try not to keep my expectations too high when visiting other BBQ establishments. However, I must say that I was delightfully surprised. We ordered a giant meal for 10+ people that included pulled pork, chicken, cheesy sausage, corn muffins and dessert. Overall, everything tasted incredible. The chicken was soft and moist, the pulled pork was awesome, and even though I'm not a sausage person I loved the infusion of cheese and jalapeño. The only food I didn't fall in love with was the corn bread, which was a little dry for my taste. Definitely recommend if you love BBQ and happen to be in this area. Also, don't forget to sample all of their 6 BBQ sauces! Especially the one with Old Bay seasoning!

Best bbq ever. Love this place.. Wish the fried okra wasn't just s seasonal option.. It is a little pricey but this restaurant supports wounded warriors so at least you know some of that overhead is going to a good cause!!

I love this place and we like to take out of town guests here. I'm pretty sure I could eat their pulled pork everyday and not get tired of it! I also like to try their seasonal sides. And the staff is very friendly, too. :)

Wow, great barbecue in Maryland....who knew? The menu has a wide range of bbq staples including brisket, ribs, sausages and turkey. I thought the best idea was the 3 meat sampler, which gave you three choices of meat (1/4 each) and then I added a side. I had the moist brisket, sausage and ribs. All the meats were good, the ribs were my favorite. The sausage was also very nice, the brisket was a tad dry but was packed with flavor. They have close to 10 different tyhpes of sauces. my 2 favorites being Old Bay and Kansas City. Solid little BBQ place with good prices and great bbq.

This place is awesome!!! We did one of the family dinners. There were 12 of us so we did the platter that cost $119. Everyone left full and there were leftovers. Also try the potatoes!!!

Yummerz! Loved the different sauces on the tables (which I for sure sampled) and the amazing sides (the cheese potato thing was seriously good and we picked up some to-go mac and cheese for dinner that night) are awesome. I had the brisket sandwich & really enjoyed the cut of the meat. Definitely recommend

I'm not a big now person. I've eaten here twice and their food is really good. I love the fact that they stop at noon to sing the National Anthem and they support our Troops. My husband eats here at least twice a week. They are so friendly and someone is always checking up on you. Keep up the good work.

What inspires me to write this review is not the food, but the generosity and care you are given when you come here. The cashiers welcome you when you first come in, seriously-- even if you're on the polar opposite entrance, they will shout at you and welcome you haha! As my first time here I decided to try the three meat sampler which you get to choose the meat you get.. I decided to get: Sausage (Jalapeño), pulled pork and the brisket. You can make it a meal and get two additional sides but I opt'd not to. I also got an ice tea. It was really nice of the cashier to offer me a free second cup so we can both ultimately get different sodas since it's free refills anyway. So after ordering, we chose a seat and waited for our names to be called. The portions were quite small but I should have expected it since it is named the sampler. The sausage is was the most tasty thing on my plate. It had lots of flavor on its' own and did not need the enhancement of any sauces. The pulled pork and the brisket however, are full of that "smoked" flavor but do need the company of a sauce. The Classic KC sauce is my favorite. It's kind of reminiscent of the mild buffalo sauce they have at Buffalo Wild Wings. So, after we finished our sampler which did not take long at all--- the manager comes and brings us a free banana pudding after making small talk with us. Honestly, I have never met a business owner who was so genuine and honestly cared about his customer's stay. The banana pudding was good, but most of it is actually whipped cream haha. After dessert was devoured, my boyfriend decided he was still hungry so we decided to try the two ribs that are available.. that are sold by the bone. Both of them were very salty to my taste. All in all, probably not the best BBQ place I have ever had especially compared to places back in New York where the option is much greater but I do guarantee that you will enjoy your time here and find it very welcoming here.

I had the brisket and while the flavor was fine, it was very dry. I drowned it with sauce and ate it, but a good brisket should have very little or no sauce. It could have just been an off-night for it, but overall I wasn't impressed. In terms of prices, $12 for a half pound of brisket, a side, and a medium drink is very high. My girlfriend had the baked beans and that cup was very small. Even the highest priced BBQ places I've been to would include 2 sides for that price. We were also constantly harassed for a $2 drink upcharge for a cup that could be brought back in for a discount. When I told the gentleman we were from Northern Virginia he said they have locations up there as well. That was not true and there's no way I would add an additional $2 to an already over-priced meal.

Dunno why everyone raves about this place... I have very mixed feelings about it. The first time I had this was when they first came down here and my in-laws bought it for dinner. It was very good and I was very impressed, but when we decided to go eat it for dinner this evening, well, I was very less than impressed. First of all, the girl at the counter was not very friendly. She seemed bothered by the fact that we were asking questions. I asked her if the potato salad was sweet... she said yes. WRONG. Don't get me wrong, the potato salad was good, it was actually the best part of my meal but it was NOT sweet. It was salty and spicy. The good thing about our visit was that the food came out really fast and a gentleman helped us get seated with a high chair for our son. He was VERY nice and very helpful and that was great. However, the brisket was soooo dry and NOT worth the 8 dollars I paid for it. The worst part about this place is that every time we eat it, without fail, we get HORRIBLE diarrhea 10 minutes after we leave the place. I will never eat here again.

I love this restaurant. The food is always fall off the bone and delicious. I also like the salute to the military. Coming from a military family, it's nice to see a place like this. The noon day national anthem is a great touch. The managers also come around and check on you, and will even chat with you a little. Awesome!

Quick service made it a great stop for lunch. The cashiers on 14 July weren't too excited with their lot in life, but the man who served our food at the counter was happy to explain any and everything without prodding. Well done. The brisket was tender with good flavor and had good bark, but not a pronounced smoke ring. KC has high standards I guess. Pulled pork was tender but I found a little sauce helped it out. That said, they have a choice of six sauces from around the country. Nice touch. Baked beans were pretty good (they had brisket in them so well played) and the potato salad was a over average with a little kick. Clean restaurant with the right amount of local decor. Not gaudy. Try it out!

I tried four different meats and was very disappointed in two (brisket and pulled pork), ambivalent toward one (pulled chicken), and impressed with one (turkey). In fact, I thought the brisket was terrible, dry and crumbling. The pulled pork was more like shredded pork, and was below average in taste. The pulled chicken was fine, but what was very impressive was the turkey. I tried two sides, the green beans and the mac and cheese. Both were a bit better than average. Not impressive overall, although if I went back, I'd definitely (and ONLY) order the turkey. Needs a lot of improvement.

Can a chain deliver good BBQ. Well I'm not sure but this one sure have is some delicious BBQ. We particularly liked the chicken and of course the myriad of sauces. And who doesn't love a place with a good grape nehi!

My favorite bbq place... Reminds me of Texan food from Austin... I.e brisket, pulled pork, and ribs... Mouth watering fun, great catering service for office parties...

  • Richard F.

My only real negative would be its very loud in here and there wasnt much smoke flavor on the meat. I will say the brisket still tasted great just expected more smoke on the meat. The jalapeno sausage was very tasty as well. Its texas style so its got a light rub and its up to you to put the sauce on it but they have quite a few flavors to choose from.

Ive ate here several times. I always order the brisket by the pound for Take Out. It comes Wet with some fat and Dry. Make sure you tell them how you want it. I enjoy the wet and it makes a great sandwich fresh or for the next day. Eating in, Ive ordered the brisket sandwich and Im never disappointed. I enjoy dining in as this place has a great atmosphere and they will check up on you to make sure things are going your way. Try this place out if you haven't yet, Im sure you will enjoy it.

First visit to Mission BBQ last month was amazing! The brisket was juicy. The pulled pork was moist and the flavors where spot on. Hot fries to go with. I thought I died and went to heaven. Today I was so disappointed. The brisket was dry dry dry and I ordered the moist version. The pork was just as good as my first visit but my fries were cold. I will go back but I hope it will be like my first visit.

I had a surprisingly excellent dinner experience at Mission BBQ with my husband (E). We went out to eat to celebrate our wedding anniversary and decided to keep it casual--and wore the corresponding attire. We ordered ribs/pulled pork, and decided to share sides of macaroni & cheese and green beans. We picked up our food, sat down, and decided to order 2 more sides. E goes to the counter to order, is asked what he would like, and told, "Sure - I'll bring it to you in a minute." No need to pay for the extra sides! I asked E, "Do they know it's our anniversary?" And he said he hadn't mentioned it. Then the gentleman (Jim) brings it to our table, and E introduces me as his wife (still no mention of anniversary). Jim, who is also the manager, proceeds to talk about how it is his pleasure... if there's anything he can do for us... etc. He said I don't recognize you, and asked if we had been to Mission BBQ before. Then he asked about us, and we explained how we had met and our history with the area. Jim also shared a brief story about his background and how he came to be running this location. Such a genuinely friendly, welcoming interaction. We enjoyed the brief conversation, then turned back to our dinner and experimenting with the variety of BBQ sauces. (Memphis Belle was my favorite.) We also said to each other, "We should have told him how thoughtful that was and how much we appreciate it, since we're out celebrating our anniversary." As we finished up our dinner, Jim came over with a dish of their signature banana pudding, also on the house. E and I looked at each other and E said to Jim, "You know--today is actually our wedding anniversary, so this means a lot to us. Thank you." Jim was genuinely touched, and said he was honored to have us enjoy our anniversary there. After we ate the banana pudding and were deciding whether to go to the movies or to Redbox the evening, Jim came over, mentioned again how it was his pleasure to serve, and offered to take our trash for us (in a fast-casual restaurant - where there aren't waiters!) This was my first trip to Mission BBQ and I must say, it made an impression! That is service! Maybe we will make this a tradition... TL;DR version - Wearing casual clothes, E and I went to dinner for our wedding anniversary at Mission BBQ (fast-casual, patriotic/military & public-service-focused restaurant). Without knowing it was our anniversary, the manager (Jim) treated us to two extra side dishes--and then also to banana pudding for dessert. We also had the most friendly and genuinely welcoming conversation with him. When we finally disclosed that it was our anniversary, Jim was honored (and also came over to take our trash!) Well done all around, Mission BBQ.

Ate the brisket sandwich combo. Got the lean end of the brisket as I requested. There was a small dark smoke ring on the edge of the brisket, I am used to it being more pink at the smoke ring. The rub was very salty. Meat was tender. Not too bad. The fries were real good.

I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants, especially BBQ restaurants, but I was very impressed with these guys. They are truly firing on all burners! The food is excellent. I ordered the turkey, which is sliced thick and really tender. It is smoked for 14 hours and you can definitly tell! My friends got the jalapeno cheddar sausage and pulled pork, both solid options. For sides, we tried the mac and cheese, sheesy potatoes, and green beans. All were good! The servers brought around samples of other options like the Freedom Fries, brownie, and peanut butter pie. Oh God, the peanut butter pie though. I would recommebd that place for the pie alone, but add in stellar service and other amazing options and you have a big fan here! I also really loved that the premium cup option for $3.99 donates ALL proceeds to Wounded Warrior Project. Way to go guys, keep up the excellent work!!

Soooo goooood. I would eat here every day if I could but with those prices and a family of 7, who can afford that?? The food is quality and seriously delicious, so I understand the cost, I just don't like it. It's definitely worth the splurge once you bite into the crumbling brisket or the loaded mash potatoes or the "lick the bowl clean" mac-n-cheese.... Mmmm.

I must admit, I was skeptical of another chain restaurant coming to town but I was very impressed with this joint. The restaurant is cheery, bright, and clean. The service is very friendly and FAST. I really enjoyed the sauce selection at your table--which is great for someone like me who loves to try them all! It is a bit pricey--lunch will set you back ~$12 and you don't get a lot for your money. All-in-all it's a great place for BBQ--just like our good ol' local BBQ joint right down the street.

Mission BBQ is a great place to enjoy some good BBQ. The atmosphere is awesome and the service is quick. I thought the food is slightly overpriced, but it's BBQ, it's not cheap. I love the respect they have for veterans and their service. Playing the National Anthem everyday at noon is awesome, keep it up. Definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. I believe they cater as well.

I don't think many people go to chain restaurants expecting much, and I did the same here. Boy was I wrong! The food was absolutely phenomenal, especially considering the price. I paid $11 or so for 1/2 pound of brisket, french fries, green beans (which are delicious, with chunks of bacon mixed in), and an ice cold root beer. The best part is, since I'm health concious, I'm able to eat here and not feel guilty about my meal - especially if I cut out the french fries. The only issue I had was the young girl working the register didn't seem like she really knew what was going on, probably just lacking in training. She was nice enough, though. I asked her if the 1/2 pound measurement for my meal was pre or post cook, and although she said 'post', I could tell she wasn't sure of her answer, and just guessed. That's ok though, no big deal. This location has a wonderful outdoor seating area also, which was perfect for the day I went. It was 70 degrees, give or take a few, and partly sunny with a t-storm rolling in. It was nice to sit outside with some family, eat a good meal, and chat. The place has a great atmosphere inside and out, and I'll definitely be returning. Oh, one final thing - I wish they'd turn the music down. It was late afternoon, and there weren't many people in the place, and I still had to talk at an above average volume in order to hold a conversation with someone directly across the table from me.

Looked like a typical chain BBQ place - license plates on the wall, a bit of this and that on the menu. But, I was surprised how good the pulled pork was -- tender, flavorful, and generous portions. Great mac & cheese. Even the inevitable array of "regional" sauces on the table included a unique one -- Maryland style, with just the right amount of Old Bay flavoring. KC-style was also very good. Will definitely stop if my travels take me by a Mission BBQ again.

Great for a quick lunch before heading back to base. Lots of room, clean and patriotic. I try to eat here at least once on each trip down. Their BBQ is great and the sides are to die for. Good portion size for the price. you won't leave hungry

I'm all in after my latest visit. Thanks to Tim the floor attendant who advised as to what items might suit my taste buds. Not only was the brisket extra moist the jalapeño sausage is probably one of the best items on that menu. The free samples are certainly a perk but with guys like Tim making sure that you enjoyed your meal and taking your tray for you at the end that make Mission BBQ a must eat in southern md. Kudos to chef and kudos to the manager.

A la carte style menu ordering. Food is made to order faster than any place I've ever been to. Military friendly. Delish pulled pork, multiple Bbq sauce options. The best real mac and cheese I've tasted in a restaurant by far. Friendly service and the establishment is keep neat clean and tidy. Must try! Will be returning soon!

I have been to a number of barbecue restaurants and while the meat is usually delicious, the variety of BBQ sauces is terrible. (There's one good one.) BUT all the BBQ sauces at mission BBQ were amazing. I really enjoyed them and think they are homemade. The food was very affordable too! I'm going back every week :-D

This review has been a long time coming. I have gone here a few times and always enjoy coming back. I have tried all the smoked meats (Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Turkey). They also have chicken and sausage, but I have had a hard time escaping from the normal BBQ menu. The prices are more than what you will pay for if wanting fast food, but for the quality it isn't bad at all. You would pay comparable for something at any of the other sit-down restaurants in the area. As far as sides go, I am a fan of the green beans, baked beans and cool slaw. The corn bread is a little different and in my opinion a little dry, but that would be the only negative thing I can think of. One tip that is nice is if you call ahead you can use the side entrance to skip to the front of the line and pick it up. All in all it is a great place that has a great cause. They do stop everything at noon to pay tribute to America through playing the national anthem. They also have six different BBQ sauces to try out and each have a good flavor. I like to pair the KC style with the pulled pork or mix the KC and Smoky one as well. As for the turkey I prefer the Bay-B-Q for it as it mixes well with the rub. All in all the service is great, the food is good and so far nothing bad off the menu so a place to try if you haven't already. Happy dining and enjoy!

Let me start by saying I never heard of this place and my girl was craving BBQ, but the only reason i stopped was because the ratings were good on Yelp. BEST DECISION EVER!!! Everything from being greeted at the door, to the military decorations(not the cheesy ones, the ones clearly given from service members), to the simplistic menu options, and of course the amazing tasting BBQ. My girl, her son and I had a delicious lunch here just two days ago. She got the pulled pork and I got the NC pulled pork. I'm not sure the exact difference, but the NC version is served with cole slaw on the sandwich. Easily the best tasting BBQ i've ever had from a restaurant. Its hard to match that hometown "Momma's BBQ" in a fast food environment, but this place has come the closest to me beating out my previous favorite Famous Daves. The pulled pork was absolutely to die for and the sauces they had on the table...OMG! I can't tell you which was my favorite because i feel its impossible to compare. Literally they were all delicious even the "MD BBQ" with a bit of old bay in it. (you can def taste it, not bad either) I really enjoyed the mixture that the cole slaw brought to the sandwich too. If you end up going, don't leave without trying either their turkey or their pulled pork. I can't speak for the ribs yet, but i'll get back to ya. Between the great customer service, delicious food and appreciation of service members this place most certainly has a loyal customer. I look forward to going back and trying more of their menu items. P.S Theres a guy named Jim there I don't know him personally but, if you need something he'll go out of his way for ya. Awesome guy that dude is. I'd thank him personally for the great experience I had. One more thing, LOVE what you guys did with the males bathroom. I hope to design my own bathroom with that kind of wall decor some day.

Maryland is not known for good barbeque. Mission, however is changing that. This is the ONLY good BBQ in MD. Even my son the chicken nugget and pizza eater loves the brisket. It is the only beef he likes.

Excellent food. Great service. The kids and I love eating here. KC Classic sauce is the best. The brisket is amazing. Just had a brisket burger as the black plate special, hit the spot. No frills, just great food at a good price. Highly recommended!

Good attempt at barbeque, hit or miss on the menu items. Not bad for a state known for crabs. They do a good job on their pork, but misses the mark on their beef brisket. Skip the brisket. Best side is the baked beans. Too many sauces, just adequate. Hey Mission BBQ, just make a single sauce of your own and make it good. Would rate higher if they either lowered their prices or increased serving size. So if you're hungry, I hope you have a fat wallet. UPDATE: Mission BBQ can learn a few things from Hill Country BBQ in DC!

So I'm not even a very big barbeque fan, but this is the best barbeque chicken I've ever had. Hands down. It is probably the most tender and juicy piece of chicken of any kind that I've ever had. And they have six different sauces on the table, so you can try them all. I had green beans and mac 'n' cheese with my meal both of which were also good. I was in town on business several months ago when I ate here, and I can't stop thinking about getting back for more. Delicious!

The food here is delicious. I love the jalapeno sausage and brisket. But what really sets it apart is how nice the staff and management are to everyone who walks in the door.

Great service and great food. Drink station is a sticky mess, however; and the sweet tea is not always consistent. Best brisket in town. Always order the "moist" brisket.

I really enjoyed the pulled pork, cornbread...the brisket was OK but nothing special. Oh I almost forgot to mention the cheese potatoes...VERY GOOD.

As a non-meat eater, I hesitated to go in... since they let me bring my dog on the patio, I decided to go. The service and food were EXCELLENT (I had the side dishes). Tori spent a long time introducing us to the area and BROUGHT MY DOG 4 PIECES OF BRISKET FOR FREE! LOVE IT! :)

I had the moist brisket sandwich. It was very good but didn't have much of that smoked bbq type flavor. A little smokey flavor would have kicked it up a notch. The sauces were good although the price was slightly higher than I'd pay if I wasn't on a business trip.

My first trip to this restaurant was a disappointment. Went in with six business colleagues today and everyone was very happy with their meals and the overall dining experience. The food was ready in record time, and tasted great. I will be going back!

I've had two here and neither of them that good. I had the pork rib platter. They were dry and cut down so there wasn't much left. Mac n cheese was dry and cornbread was terrible. Cole slaw wasn't tasty at all. My other meal was a brisket sandwich that was dry and tough. Fries were just barely warm and not good at all. No more meals here. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Excellent Q! I had the sampler with baby back ribs, sliced brisket, and pulled pork. All were cooked perfect and not over done and not greasy either. We are from Texas and so excited to finally have a proper BBQ place!

I had the NC pulled pork which was too much for one person to eat. Topped with cold slaw it was outstanding. Fries were awesome too reminiscent of five guys. My fiancé got the brisket platter with two sides hers also was way too much to eat. she equally enjoyed hers. One of the best parts is the unique soda choices they have when you first walk through the door( I.e Big Red & Cherrywine). The theme of the restaurant is very patriotic. In fact at one point the national anthem played everybody stop what they were doing during , and applauded graciously afterward.

The pulled pork sandwich was delicious!! Loved the smokiness and the Memphis sauce. The coleslaw and lemonade was also very good! Wish there were locations in VA!

Expected decent BBQ, but was actually really surprised by how good this place was. The brisket, French fries, and cornbread that I got were, without exaggeration, some of the best I've had. Tried some of the chicken and it was just as good. The atmosphere was good, staff was pleasant, and for what you get the prices are pretty good. Decorations are a bit over the top, but not really overbearing. I don't know if they have other locations, but if they don't, they should definitely expand; this is a formula that really works.

Excellent food, great taste and value. Great sauces to sample too. Friendly staff as well. And you can buy a bottle of sauce to take home for under $4. I will definitely be going back and encourage others to check this place out.

Just have to say yum to this BBQ place. Macaroni and cheese they made for a catered event was so good! I'm picky about my BBQ and have to say I love this place! Their pulled chicken is so good! Actually everything we have had at Mission BBQ has been really good. The staff is so friendly. I highly recommend.

Very good, but pricey. I also think that there is better BBQ in the area. The place does put the profits to a good cause and they are very fast with a good selection. I would recommend this place.

Juicy, tender meats. Baby back ribs can't be picked up by the bone because the meat will fall right off! Mac & cheese and creamed corn are scrumptious. Six sauces to choose from at every table!!

Although the ambience leaves a bit to be desired(very casual), the barbecue hit the spot. Had the 3meat sampler(pulled pork, brisket, and turkey) along with beans(good flavor), cole slaw(nothing to write home about, very chunky), and Mac n cheese(bland). Enjoyed testing different sauces and settled on the smoky mountain sauce. Very friendly service and food was served up in record time. I have enjoyed This place has the best Cue in the area, by far!!!

The wife & I went Friday evening for brisket sandwiches. We're from Texas and in my 65 years I have consumed alot of bisket! This was in the "OK" range but not worth the $7.99 for the stand alone sandwich! The portion was small and the roll was not typical of Texas BBQ. The slaw had way too much red cabbage and tasted more like something from Boston. Too bad, we were looking forward to a really good, reasonably priced BBQ joint. The service was very good though. I hope the food gets better!

Well finally we have some good BBQ in southern MD. I have never been happy with the other places that have fatty pulled pork or brisket you can't chew, but Mission is the real deal. Good smoke flavor, great variety of sauces. The sides were delicious too. I liked the green beans and baked beans.

Super friendly service in a great place. I was a big fan of the first responder and military memorabilia on the walls plus they support wounded warrior. I got the lean brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese. Great big sandwich but with the bread it was on the dry side and I didn't want a fattier moist cut so that's where the sauce comes in. Every single sauce is great. Just have to find which one u like best for which meat. I will definitely be back. Good food, great service, nice atmosphere, good location.

This is the best restaurant BBQ in the area. I highly recommend the chopped brisket moist. The food is not only delicious but the customer service is spot on. They are polite and not rude at all. Which in this area is damn near impossible to find.

This was the second time I've come here in the past 2 weeks. This time I got the moist brisket and ribs ( spare and baby back ). The brisket was cooked well and tasty. However, of the brisket I did get, one entire strip was ENTIRELY FAT! Apparently the folks behind the counter don't look at what they are giving you. As far as the ribs go, they were kinda dry and overcooked. The meat falls off the bone as if cooked in too much liquid. I prefer my meat to stay on the bone unless i bite it off, not come off completely on the first bite. The sauces are good and you get a 6 pack of variety on every table. The fries were good and seasoned. The cream corn was pretty good as well. The place was clean and the staff friendly. I'll probably go back again and try something new.

quick time from ordering until you pick up the food. I love the taste of the smoked meats but hate the BBQ sauces. It seems that there's one master sauce and then cayenne is mixed with one portion, Old Bay with another, etc. Fries are great but green beans are a little too watery/ little taste.

I had the brisket and it was the best I have ever had. I liked having 6 sauce choices right at my table. The sides were a la carte which made the meal a little pricey. Give it a try!

had the pulled pork sandwich... PHENOMENAL! the sauces the table were also really good. the wait was long and they needed to open another register. worth the wait though.

Opened to much excitement as does anything new in this town. Decided to check it out for lunch. Ordered a combo to try the brisket and pulled pork with Mac and cheese. The brisket was rubbery, more like corned beef than brisket and was in much need of sauce. A few more hours in the smoker would have made a huge difference. The pulled pork was ok, huge globs of fat mixed in showed that it needed a better cleaning. There was a light smoky flavor but nothing worth noting. I want meat, not fat on my plate. The mac and cheese was awesome and the corn bread was dry. It wasn't the sweet style corn bread like they have at smokey joe's, but that will always be a personal preference. As far as atmosphere, the place was clean and looked much better than CiCi's did before it. The staff was very friendly and in the 5 minute wait I had to order, I was approached with a menu, shook hands with someone I'm assuming was the manager and brought a sample of their corn bread. I wasn't sure what sauce to get with my to go order so they threw in a sample of all six. As far as the BBQ went, I wanted to give it a 2, but the service was definitely a 5. Maybe I'll try it again once they break it in a little more, but smokey joe's is still going to be my go to for local BBQ.

Came in for dinner and ordered two pulled pork sandwich meals and a brownie. Cost about $23 and I thought that was a little high. I also made the mistake of waiting for my order by the food counter. That's when I saw the turkey. Thick juicy slices of it with cornbread. But before I could change my order, the pork sandwiches were ready. I was instantly disappointed with the sandwich roll. The sandwiches aren't served on a typical sandwich bun, but more like a large, thick-crusted dinner roll you'd eat at thanksgiving. It was just a little too small for the job title of sandwich bun, tasked with delivering pork to my mouth. THIS is what they meant by mission:bbq. Luckily, the meat that couldn't fit on the bun was thrown at my face by my toddler. I stretched my tongue to lick the side of my cheek as saucy pork meat slid down it. Mission accomplished! The meat was good. A little salty, but overall well seasoned. We did get a few chunks of fat, but that's the nature of pulled pork. They have many different bbq sauces and I enjoyed sampling all of them. The old bay flavor seemed a little far fetched for me. I hear "old bay" and I think of crabs and beer but perhaps someone out there would enjoy it as a bbq sauce. The mac and cheese was sprinkled with bread crumbs and tasted so good we literally fought over the last of it. I only got one bite but it was amazing. Green beans were very good, made with bits of ham and had a little bit of spicy kick to them. I would probably pass on the baked beans next time. I ordered them for my kid and she ate them, but that doesn't say much. They were hard (as in possibly under cooked) and lacking any flavor notes besides tangy bbq. I prefer them smokey and a little on the sweet side. The brownie sang all the notes the baked beans missed. Soft and uber chocolatey with chunks of chocolate. I bet it would be really good if warmed in the microwave, eatten while gooey and melty. I think they can probably get away with a few missed marks like under-performing sandwich rolls and still do well if only for their appeal to the military crowd. Will try again, only next time I'm getting the turkey with Mac and cheese and the brownie!

I went back again today to try the ribs, both dry rubbed and glazed and brisket. The ribs were incredibly moist and tender, with great light smoky flavor. The brisket was not like I've had in Texas and was on the dry side, probably would have benefited from a Texas crutch in the latter part of the cooking process to keep in the moisture and tenderize the meat more. The mac & cheese was tops and baked beans had a nice tang to them and light smoky taste. The place was jumpin' today and if they keep up with the food quality, they'll have a long, profitable run. The staff there are very helpful and friendly and are very customer oriented. I'm a fan and will definitely be back.

What a great place! I wish I could give them 5 stars, but my pulled pork was way too salty for my taste. I didn't feel good after having it. If they can lighten up on the salt content then it would be perfect. What a great, patriotic restaurant though! I'll. come back and try the beef version.

I'm giving this place a 4 star and the reason why was the rude/impatient cashier. First time here you would expect someone to be helpful or at least smile. Its not like anyone was behind us. She also mumbled and I had to ask her to repeat herself. Which she did with a full blown attitude. Now that was our only bad experience. The food is pricey but all bbq usually is. I was just thankful we didn't have to tip after ordering. The cooks were friendly and helped bring out food. They made conversation and told us which bbq sauces were good. Now the food. For sides we had mac n cheese, green beans, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread...we liked them all. For meat I had half chicken, pulled pork and sausage link...all were bomb!!! I did try my friends brisket and turkey and I preferred my plate. We did stay for a while...I like that you don't have anyone rushing you out. The owner or manager came around and asked how everything was. He was all smiles and very polite. The decor in the place is great along with the music selection. Ice tea was also good. I will be back and won't let one bad apple spoil the barrel for me.
