Based on the reviews and the crowd we found inside the place, this must really be a special spot that is well appreciated in Brunswick. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. There is a large menu with kid's items, specials and a full bar. I was in no way amazed by the food we were served, but it was one visit and I'll just assume I didn't order the best items for me. The key thing here is it appears all items are made in house by a proud staff. Again, you're in Brunswick eating Middle Eastern food. You're already ahead! I got the Chicken Shwarma which did not look or taste like any shwarma I've had before, but maybe I haven't had this style. This was chicken curry but the curry was mostly dry, as was the chicken. It wasn't bad, though, and I had it wrapped up in the warm pitas provided along with rice, garlic tziki and some Sriracha which is on every table. It was good, just not what I was going for when I ordered. I saw some pita sandwiches which looked great. The cuban looked nice. Most dishes came out with waffle french fries which seemed to be a hit. We got kid pita pizzas. Pizza was kid's menu quality. Nothing to write home about but it satisfied the kids. One kid got a large side of fruit (canned) and the other got rice. I really liked their rice put it has a strong spice to it for the kids (coriander or fennel? I'm not sure). We also got the Guac and chips appetizer from the special board. It was heavy on lemon and parsley. It was more of an Avocado Tabbouleh, if that's what you are going for. Served with what seemed like store bought chips. Despite my lukewarm first experience I would DEFINITELY return and stick to some more basics as the sandwiches all looked good. It's nice to have a sit down meal in a busy friendly restaurant after a day on the river. One dinner, one appetizer, two kids meals and three non-alcoholic drinks came to $50 after tip.

Small town "ma and pa" restaurant. As long as you don't have high, fancy restaurant level expectations you won't be disappointed. We randomly pulled off the highway and didn't want fast food or a national chain (not that there are any in this small town!). Prices were cheap and food was decent. I got a taco pizza and my husband got a French dip sandwich. Both were good. Service was courteous, but a little slow. The only thing that ruined the experience was a small hair in our food. I know it happens, but that's pretty gross! Would come back if in the area again, but I don't know when that will be!

Wanted to support a local business. Especially with the high food reviews. Came in, had to wait 15 minutes for someone to ask for our drink order. Had to go up to the bar to ask for a menu. after 15 with our menu, we realized the couple beside us had been there 5 minutes- had gotten drinks/menus and the waitress walked right by us to ask them there order. After 30 minutes of waiting - we left. Of course I understand oversights happen. But after having to go to the bar to get a menu-should have been a red flag to staff.

The falafel & lamb shawarma were delicious. We were coming back from Harpers Ferry looking for a good place for lunch and figured Brunswick, which we haven't been through for years, would be a good Place for a typical American lunch. The Grill appeared just as I thought we were running out of town. We were surprised & delighted to find mid Eastern food, and well prepared too!
(4)Gary M.
Best food around (and beyond.) Really good food...and fresh! Very nice waitstaff and the chef (probably owner) came out to ask how our food was. This is the perfect local business to support. Awesome.
(5)David T.
EXCELLENT !!! After traveling to the middle east many times and experiencing many different restaurants in that region, I can say, it was some of the best middle eastern cuisine I've ever had. It's a surprising find in this area. The service was excellent as well.
(5)J S.
Pleasant surprise. Authentic flavors, friendly and attentive staff. Try the appetizer with lentils and crispy caramelized onions. The home made lemonade with a sprig of fresh mint hits the spot on a hot summer day.
(4)Vera F.
My friends and I came here after a long day of tubing in Harpers Ferry. We were shocked to find it was an authentic middle eastern restaurant. My boyfriend got the Kafta which was absolutely delicious and I got the Shish Taouk. This place is really nice, reasonably priced and most of all delicious food!
(5)Randy S.
What a great find! On our way to the local wine country, we stopped in this gem to eat. All I can say is WOW. Atmosphere is very casual. It was a little loud, due to a couple of larger groups, but not enough to be a negative. The food was absolutely incredible. I had the Manicotti with Crab, and my wife had the Shrimp Rosiere. I didn't lick the plate clean, but I made sure to use my bread to clean-up every last tasting of the dinner. I haven't even left yet, and am already trying to figure out when and how I can come back for more.
(5)Rose S.
First off let me say the first time we went there it was great! However, tonight my husband and I ordered takeout and ordered pretty much the same thing as last time. The chicken parmesan sub was made completely differently this time around. The first time was nice breaded chicken cutlets and sauce in a sub roll and tonight there was like four small strips of chicken overloaded in sauce. My husband ordered the crispy chicken wrap we asked for no tomatoes and it was filled with them and asked for no mayo and there was mayo on it. Overall, tonight the dinner was just not great and very disappointing. We probably will not be returning anytime soon.
(2)Shannon H.
Ok food. VERY strong drinks. I had the lamb shawarma. I LOVE lamb but this was a little greasy. I wish I had tried the falafel instead.
(2)Chuck S.
So great! This is the kind of place small towns are famous for! Try everything! It's all gooooood!
(4)J T.
It's the only restaurant in town. Other than a Pepsi don't think you will find anything. Tasteful here. Can't have a broad menu and do any well. Looking for mosque here to compare menu to their new one. They sucked before and haven't raised the bar. Nice location bad food.
(2)Marie F.
Just had diner and I love this place. When I lived in NYC and used to eat at Sephardic restaurants. This is the closest thing to Israeli food for this area.
(5)D H.
This is probably the best restaurant in Brunswick. Spend a bit of time in the area and you will really be thankful for this place and beans in the belfry. I have been here multiple times and the food was just amazing. The chef is from Syria I was told, and he makes those sorts of dishes as well as your typical American style ones as well. The hummus here is just awesome. Everything I have tried has been great. Personally love the mushroom burger but do not be afraid to branch out here. Service can be a bit slow at times depending on how busy it gets but it has never been an annoyance. As to others comments about the look of the place I say so what. The food is more than enough reason to come here and their prices are good for what you are getting.
(5)Dimo J.
With looking for a place to grab a quick business lunch after arriving here from DC. Was pleasantly surprised to meet the proprietor as well as some of the staff of this establishment, as well as some of the customers. The food was absolutely phenomenal especially the lamb shawarma, middle eastern salad and the rassika lentil soup. Service was great and food came promptly. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back!

We live in Brunswick, MD where the decent restaurants are few and the liquor stores are many. Potomac Street Grill is beyond incredible. We have dined in and had carry out several times and each time, it has been a wonderful experience. Eating in the dining room feels like your best friend is greeting/serving you; the owners are so welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious and it seems like each time we eat or order carry out here, it gets even better.

Man, I REALLY want to give this place a 4-5 star rating, particularly since the folks that run it and work there are so darned nice, and the Yelp ratings are so strong. But, alas, the food just wasn't good enough to merit it. My buddy and I stopped in after bicycling the nearby C&O Canal Trail, and we were approached by a gentleman associated with the place (owner or manager, perhaps?) who was distributing menus at the rail station parking lot. The restaurant has a good location around the corner from the trail, and features both indoor and outdoor seating. We split an appetizer and each ordered sandwich-like mains. The stars of our meal were the wings. Though they were far from spicy, and not the largest of wings, they were well cooked and very tasty. The accompanying blue cheese dressing (ranch is also available) was quite good also. Unfortunately it was downhill from there. My friend had the gyro and I ordered the chicken club wrap, and both were rather sub-par. We each had the waffle fries with our sandwiches, and those were fine. On the plus side, service is friendly, and they serve BEER, including some quality craft selections both on tap and in bottles. Honestly, this so pains me to not go to four stars, as the staff really is wonderful, but it was disappointing that the gyro and wrap still were so "okay" despite us being two quite hungry lads. That being said, I'll be sure to stop in again sometime and try some other menu item(s), in hopes that I'll feel compelled to upgrade my rating.
(3)Jillian B.
Who would've thought that the town of Brunswick, surrounded by farmland would have a restaurant with great food!?! Did I also mention they have a good selection of craft beers as well as wines and a full bar! Family owned and operated with a staff from the area that are as friendly as it can get. My son is a HUGE fan since he's treated like a king every time we go! A must if you're in the area.
(5)Jack P.
Great kabobs we had with Mediterranean flair . Was a meal to die for. This was our 2nd meal here after our bike trips on the C&O Tow Path Trail.
(5)Laura C.
I truly love this place. I can barely go a week with out eating here. Everyone takes pride in the food they serve. The food is amazing! I have not found a single dish I don't like. However the chicken shawarma wrap is my go to and the JASMINE RICE is a must!!
(5)Sarah V.
I am always happy with the food and service here. They have a wild range of Mediterranean and Italian food to choose from. My favorite is the pesto, tomato, and mozzarella panini.
(4)Byron S.
Food was okay. Had a gyro and fries, and a lamb schwarma wrap n fries. Kind of an odd setup in the dining area. It's seat yourself, but they don't give you a menu. So you just sit there staring at the walls. When you do get a menu, it is so big. They seem to carry everything. Too much stuff. Then there is a full page of specials. This leads me to believe they are carrying way too much product. I think if they concentrated on what they make really well, their middle eastern flairs, and offered only a small menu with that they might be able to really perfect everything. They do say they offer american and middle eastern foods, but i think they should concentrate on doing one perfectly. Like the other reviewer said, the gyro was okay, not amazing. You can tell by the cut that it is a pre-made item. I would like to have seen a more traditional shaved off the rotating leg meat. Needs a paint job in there and better decorating. They have some really good craft brews on tap there which is a plus. Orders did not come out at same time, about 3 min apart. Overall, a decent lunch spot, that can use some improvements.
(3)Erin M.
We enjoyed a really fantastic dinner here tonight, great service and attention to both my Nieces from the staff, and the Middle Eastern options are absolutely delicious. My Mom and Sister both had the Moussaka, and my Brother in Law and I both had the Lamb Schwarma. They were accommodating when I asked to substitute vegetables for my rice and pita, as I stick to Paleo ways, and I can't wait to come back next time I'm on the East Coast. Very reasonably priced, laid back, great for families, but they still have a full bar and some fun sounding seasonal cocktails.
(4)Taz M.
Awesome, they respect your business and a mean steak and cheese . Great place to have here in little Brunswick!
(4)Lisa W.
Awesome discovery! Loved everything! I'll add pics but you're missing out on the wonderful Mediterranean smells:) yum!
(5)H N.
From the DC area, I'd been missing good ethnic foods since we moved and I was so thrilled to find very good Middle-eastern food within driving distance of my place in the boonies. Their chicken shwarma wrap was just wonderful. We were too full to eat the baklava so brought it home and loved it too. There are so many good sounding Middle-eastern things on the menu it will be a long time before we have any of the American foods on the menu.
(4)Richard T.
Ask for Fatush salad. It's not on the menu but it's the best salad ever!. I've eaten at a lot of resturants in the Middle East and this is some of the best I've had. The owner is from Syria and runs it with his wife and daughter. They are super nice people as well as their staff. Everything I've had here has been excellent. You won't be disappointed.
(5)Jack K.
Pronounced to be "absolutely authentic" middle eastern fare by no less than my lebanese wife, the food here was outstanding. The bread--the real, freshly baked pita that one is hard pressed to find outside of Damascus or Brooklyn, was outstanding. The mint tea was refreshing and definitely different than the usual ice tea. The baba ghanoush, however, was the real star of the show--delightful. We'll be back.
(5)Orlangela A.
Being new to this area we wanted to check out a local restaurant. I got the lamb schwarma with rice and it was the best lamb schwarma I've ever had. It tasted very fresh and was very flavorful. So yummy, made me wanting to come back for more! We also got a meatball sub and steak and cheese sub which was also really good. I have tried the Maryland crab soup here before too and it has so much flavor. We will definitely be coming back here for breakfast, lunch and dinner! They also have a full bar. Friendly staff and chef also. Great place!
(5)Adrian K.
My family and I have eaten here twice. Unexpected to find middle eastern food in a small town like this one! The cook and owner is Syrian and is very friendly.
(4)Toni Y.
Nice to find this kind of food available locally but slightly underwhelmed. The ambiance was grim, the service pleasant and the food good, not great. The falafel was fine as was the gyro and the baklava however they weren't outstanding. The mixed drink was weak and the beer was good, although bottled. Probably won't be regulars.
(3)Tito B.
They are absolutely the best, I go there about once a week for my lunch break! they are helpful, friendly, and very good at what they do! You can tell the staff work their tails off while the atmosphere is great without really trying. They seem to have a small kitchen which must be highly efficient with the quick turnaround for their orders. 10/10 I recommend this to others and try to share this with everyone.
(5)Jai F.
Very fresh salad. The owner/chef also came to our table, shared recipe. I was trying to figure out what was in the rice. Anise seeds or cardamom. He was very personable. I request fresh mint for my tea and was eagerly served fresh mint. Great menu and homemade deserts make this a destination I will be visiting again.
(4)Carrie B.
Having just moved to Brunswick my husband & I are trying out the restaurants slowly. This is the first place we tried. Everything was delicious. I love a menu that has interesting appetizers, not the usual stuff. They had meat pie as an app and it was fantastic. I ordered the chicken kebabs, also fantastic. My husband ordered the crab cake sandwich, also very good. We can bring a lot of family & friends here because there is a great combination of Middle Eastern and American food on the menu. We ordered the baclava for dessert and it was amazing. It was different from what we have normally had, in a good way. Not as sticky and syrupy, but more flavorful. The atmosphere was very pleasant also. Pricing was fair. Good selection of beers on draft. We ate at the bar, but there were tables also. We will definitely go back.
(4)Kendrick S.
Hands down the best food in Brunswick. Ok, fair enough, there aren't many options in town to choose from, but without respect to that, it's still pretty darn good. Also helps that the new owners are absolutely the nicest people I've met.
(5)Nathan C.
Great food! Try the middle eastern options -- the chef is from Syria. Well worth the stop for an outstanding dinner if in town!
(5)Anonymous C.
We were completely blown away by how delicious everything was! I kept thinking it couldn't get any better, but then it did. Add on the live music that was beautiful and the perfect volume, and it was a fantastic visit!
(5)Kyrie G.
I am so glad we tried this place. Service was great and the food was delicious. It's reasonably close, so will definitely be back.
(5)Patti R.
This place is amazing. We are longtime residents and were approached to put an ad on their menu as a local business. We definitely wanted to try the food first before we put our name anywhere especially since it was Brunswick, MD. Brunswick is not known for nice restaurants. OMG, it was amazing. Everything made fresh, no frozen food here. The chef was so nice and came out and spoke to us. He will need to expand very soon but hopefully not out of Brunswick. I just can't say enough about the food. It was the best dinner salad I've had in a long time and everything else was delicious. Even the dessert which was a fresh warm brownie, clearly home made with ice cream. 5 stars. Go see for yourself and all in a down home country warm atmosphere. Don't be fooled by the concrete floor and small feel, it's great. Patti
(5)Robert M.
I based my visit on my fellow Yelpers' reviews and my wife and I were not disappointed. We shared an awesome appetizer of freshly made hummus, baba ganoush, warm pita and pickled beets, washed down by a draft Ommegang Witte (!). We followed with a lamb & beef gyro for me and falafel wrap (actually in pita) for my better half. Both came with homemade tzatziki and tahini sauces respectfully, and both were delicious. This was worth the detour after visiting Harpers Ferry and heading home, I just wish I lived closer than 200 miles to try more of the menu.
(5)M. M.
What an unexpected surprise! Hungry after a long ride on the C&O, the four of us ambled in expecting the usual bland diner fare, ala Harpers Ferry. Couldn't have been more wrong. Fresh, homemade, authentic Mediterranean food served by absolutely wonderful, charming Syrian family. A great beer selection and fun cocktails. Warm, fresh baked pita. We were in heaven. Don't miss the fuul, a lemony delicious fava bean dish, or the baba ghanoush. Outstanding dining experience, check it out.
(5)Tony C.
Go figure that you can get good middle eastern cuisine in a hole in the wall place in Maryland. But it's true. As we had a group of us dining, we were able to sample quite the cross section of the menu. From the middle eastern salad, to the chicken shawarma, the lamb shawarma, the fried pickles and the eggplant, all were robustly flavored and the portions were generous. The owner/chef and his wife do a tremendous job of making customers feel welcome which just adds to the homey atmosphere here. This place is not fancy and it's not big, but the bang for the buck is tremendous here and the quality is worth the trip out here.
(4)Doug J.
I wanted to take my wife somewhere different for her birthday dinner, so we ended up trying the Potomac St Grill based on the reviews we found on yelp. By the time we received the appetizer, both my wife and I were sold on the 5 star service and quality of food. We got the hummus, Mediterranean salad, lamb kabob and the chicken kabob. We also got to try the chocolate cake and the baklava which were both fantastic!! I'm typically a hamburger or wings kind of guy, but definitely don't be afraid to try some of the Mediterranean dishes--we will certainly be back!
(5)Jeff S.
We love this place, although we are stuck on The Cuban with a side order of fried pickles. We will be trying other dishes soon, the service is great, staff is friendly, One of the best places to eat in Brunswick!
(5)Corey B.
Had the mujadarra and shish taouk. Both were amazing. We were not expecting such great food in this area, after reading the reviews of places in Harpers Ferry. If you're staying in Harpers Ferry, this place is just a short drive away and well worth it. Friendly staff, small town atmosphere, and they're open later than other places in the area. Also they have beer on tap, which is a bonus.
(5)Nic T.
It was pretty good. The service was amazing they are really friendly and attentive. The decor could use some help, it feels a bit cramped and there is not much ambience, that wall color needs to go. Otherwise the food was delicious, Blackened Salmon was very good. The Shawarma was decent but could use less sauce and more mint. The desserts were very good I would go back just to get more cheese cake. I had heard negative things about the place but honestly its probably the better of the restaurants in Brunswick. Also let us not forget the good beer, such delicious beers.
(4)Dorri M.
Popped in for an afternoon cocktail with my hubby this past weekend. WOW! It was much more than I expected. The food scene in Brunswick is... sketchy at best. So, we were pleasantly surprised with the VERY friendly bartender. We ordered the appetizer platter which was a delightful mix of hummus and baba ganoush with fresh and hot pita and pickles, beets and some chick peas. Top notch! My hubby asked for a sample of the chili because the lady's next to us smelled so good and it too was FABULOUS! It had a deep and complex base - notes of cumin and ginger. The owners are Lebanese and you can definitely taste the middle eastern influence. When I complimented the owner/chef on the hummus, he brought us two complementary falafels! They were AWESOME! I highly recommend it!
(5)Linda S.
Great food. We had hummus with warm pita to start....very good. Our entre's were the chicken kabobs, very good too!
(4)Doug L.
Brunswick has not been a destination for eating out, so I was quite surprised to learn of a new restaurant that actually had both American fare as well as some Middle Eastern (including some Lebanese dishes). We stopped for lunch on a Saturday and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The soups sounded wonderful, but I'm a sucker for fresh baba ghanoush, which didn't disappoint. The falafel wrap was also terrific and my partner had a delicious sausage panini. We're going back for dinner this weekend and if it's as good as lunch (which I don't doubt), it'll be great to have a food destination within such a short drive.
(4)Grover B.
Had dinner here on a whim on a Saturday night. The service was great, friendly and prompt but not overwhelming. The menu was great having many different price points and options. I would feel comfortable bringing kids along and picky eaters alike. We opted for the beef shawarma and the blackened salmon. Both were amazing but the shawarma could have done with less onion, although this might just be my personal taste. The salmon was cooked perfectly and served with rice and black beans that were delicious. Now for desert, before I say this you should know I am a self proclaimed cheesecake expert, the raspberry cheesecake was absolutely the best cheesecake I've ever had. I will be back for sure!
(5)Steve C.
Great food Good service decent prices we will be back! We had lunch: American Cheeseburger, Chicken Pannini both great sandwiches. the kids had chicken soup and Mac n cheese (not fancy but for a 2 yo, it was perfect). The waffle fries are great - seasoned but not overdone. Owner there (on Saturday) helping out - very cordial - it shows he cares and is reflected in food and atmosphere. They do need to invest in a few booster seats/high hairs. There were 4 families with small kids but only one high chair (kept me from giving 5 stars).
(4)Tim R.
Went to Potomac Street Grill not long after they opened for business in Brunswick, then again during Railroad Days. Great eatery with a variety of foods, fast and attentive service, as well as good entrees. They deserve high marks for serving Mountain Dew (Pepsi products), yay! And the food was delicious. I highly recommend it and while in Brunswick, visit some of the other great small businesses downtown. Small business is making America great!
(5)Hank M.
A notch far above anything Brunswick has had in recent history. Owned by the same folks who own Andy's in Lovettsville, but with a unique menu. Excellent service and food at a reasonable price. Anyone who has been in Brunswick for a while knows how much of an improvement this establishment is. They also usually keep a few micro brews on tap.
(5)John Brian C.
A friend and I had to go to Brunswick today, and decided to try this place for lunch (based on the reviews). We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming. We were greeted by the owner and the waitress right away, and made to feel at home. The menu has a nice, and diverse selection from middle eastern to American comfort foods. We both had the gyro wraps. The meat is so flavorful, and is thinly cut to bring out the tenderness and taste perfectly. The yogurt sauce adds just the right amount of tang. The pita wrap was fresh and delightfully chewy. On the specials menu was one item I've seen before but never tried--fried pickles. What a great thing these are. The mix of sourness from the dill pickles with the sweetness of the breading is a great combination. These could easily become addicting. We were both so full after lunch that neither of us had room for dessert--so we got it to go. Baklava and chocolate cake. I can't wait to get into them. I look forward to returning soon to try other items on the menu (and have more of those pickles!)
(5)Mike T.
We went in for a late Friday night dinner around 8:30. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Desserts are to-die for. A very welcome addition to downtown Brunswick!
(5)Fia F.
Love this restaurant! Wonderful, fresh, delicious food! Great Service and the owner always comes out and greets us! My family loves this place!
(5)Gonzalo C.
I decided to try this place out after reading all the good reviews on Yelp-I was impressed at the quality of the food. The new management/owner has definitely turned this place around, I highly recommend this if you are in town.
(5)Sarah S.
Yay! We discovered a great new eatery close to Lovettsville. Went to Potomac Street Grill last night and decided to be adventurous and try the Middle Eastern dishes. The special okra/tomato appetizer and shish taouk (chicken kabob) were fresh and very good. Owner was super friendly and accommodating and clearly knows the restaurant business. As we left he gave us a baklava to enjoy later (which we did!). The menu offers an excellent variety of American standards with some mexican standbys, vegetarian fare and delicious Syrian dishes which were very affordably priced. There was a nice crowd there but didn't have to wait for a table because a party was leaving when we arrived at 8pm. The dining area was simply decorated and has a small fully stocked bar (cocktail option a nice plus) and a dozen or more tables. Outside seating too. The bathroom was also very clean. Definitely will be going back.
