East Moon Asian Bistro Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I want to like this place given it's proximity to my house. But I simply do not like this place...AT ALL. I have given it MULTIPLE times to exceed expectations (that were admittedly low). And EACH time, it has failed. Their chinese food is average at best and overpriced. I tried items from their "thai" menu. It was the worst Pad See Ewe that I ever had. There were miscellaneous veggies in it that didn't add to its already bland flavor. I asked for extra sauce on the noodles. I received a container of watered down soy sauce. I have tried their sushi. Most of the time, it falls apart on contact. Any rolls involving a cooked element are almost always overcooked. I've also noticed that their takeout service is simply TERRIBLE. At the rate at which it takes you to receive your food, you could sit down, have a full meal, pay AND leave. This actually happened as I waited for my sushi order. A couple came in to place a take out order. Five minutes later, the decided to eat in the restaurant. I was still waiting for my order when they left. Unfortunately, I will be skipping this place as it is simply not worth the effort.

We have been on this Asian kick for a couple weeks now and this place did not disappoint. I would've loved to give a 3.5 but since I can't . . . . I'll lean towards the 4. If the wait staff were more friendly I would have given a solid 4. I think it could've been a language barrier???? I'll be back to try the sushi at a later date.

I really want to like this place. Service is great, place is clean, the decor shows effort, food is fresh and plentiful, but the cooking is just uninspired. I tried the Taste of Siam, one of the priciest dinners. Deep fried eggplant, shrimp, fish, and scallops. The seafood was fresh, but the breading was doughy, chewy, and got in the way. Also tried Pad Se-Lew (sp?). As bland as could be. I took it home and tossed it in my own sauce of tamari, fish sauce, and agave syrup, and then it tasted good. Tried the pork chop dish. Plenty of vegetables, and thin cuts of grilled pork, but again, no flavor. The sushi is not bad. I ordered one of the daily special rolls and it came on a plate with dry ice in the middle. Quite theatrical, and it distracted me from the taste of the food. First fortune cookie I got here was "This is a nice day." That pretty much sums up this place: Nice. But not great.

The food is absolutely amazing. We order food from them on a weekly basis and they deliver it in a timely manor. My personal favorites are the basil fried rice with chicken, the spicy crab meat salad, the spicy tuna roll, and the side salad that they give for free if you dine in. Whenever we have guests over or family in town we take them here. Speaking of family, my brother can't come to Maryland and not eat there! East Moon Asian Bistro is a Bowie Best to me.

To begin with, I love the vibe of this place. Great ambiance, really attentive staff, and very decent prices considering the amount of food that they give you. Here is an example: This past St. Patty's day, I decided to pop in for dinner (who doesn't think sushi on St. Patty's day, right?) and sat at the sushi bar as I was by myself and killing time before meeting friends for a proper Irish celebration. Apparently the sushi chefs took pity upon me as a single woman sitting alone at their sushi bar and proceeded to give me a "taste" of every single thing they were preparing. Beyond "just being nice," they actually asked for feedback! By the time my usual appetizer (endamame and spicy, crunchy tuna roll) and entree (sashimi platter) arrived, I was almost too stufffed to consume them...almost. I am a very discerning sushi customer since it is really my first love in regards to cuisine and EMAB hits it out of the park in this area. Their sushi is fresh, served nice and cold, and none of that stringiness that often falls the best sushi restaurants on raw cuts of salmon and the like. Pure yumminess in the sushi and sashimi department. Now, on to the other menu offerings. Sadly, this is not the place to do Thai food if you are a fan. Although most of their Thai dishes are OK, the noodle bowls are lackluster and the beef and chicken cuts are often tough. Tom Yum Gai soup is a mass of floating tomatoes and huge mushrooms in a not-so-flavorful broth. Overall, eh, not so much. Chinese items: my boyfriend loves their beef and broccoli and another friend raves about their General Tso's chicken. I tasted each and think that while they are far superior to your neighborhood strip mall Chinese joint's offerings, nothing blew me away, so to speak. The staff (and I think the owners too) are Japanese and although they do decent takes on other Asian cuisine...go here for the Japanese food. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I love the idea of an Asian Bistro three blocks away from my house, but why this one? The decor is beautiful and the people are very nice, but I can't eat lighting or polite people (well I could, but is yelp the correct venue for talking about that experience?) The food is mediocre. I ordered the teryaki and it was decent, but very dry. There wasn't enough sauce so I had to ask for more on the side. My friend ordered a green curry meal and it tasted very much like mango sticky rice. I have tried this place several times and have yet to really enjoy my experience. When I ordered sushi from here, I was disappointed in how quickly it fell apart. I also ordered a crisp duck that wasn't crispy. The food lacks flavor and heart. It is actually the worst experience I've consistently had at one place. They do however have great happy hour specials. $3 and $4 drinks and a discounted apps are a plus. If I were you and I was in the area, I would say skip this place, unless you are going there for a happy hour and low lighting.

I've never dined in but I have gotten delivery many times and it always makes my stomach happy!! I especially like having sushi delivered, its always good, fresh, and very well priced and the delivery drivers are always friendly. They have a rather extensive menu and I've never had something I did not enjoy,my favorite is the sesame shrimp(which is a lot like general tso's shrimp) Maybe I will dine in one day but there's something about restaurant quality food on my couch that has kept me from doing that for the last 2 years.

My husband and I just moved to Bowie and got around to trying this place on Saturday night. I love sushi and somehow had it in my mind that I was only going to find decent sushi in DC -- boy was I wrong! First of all, the service was wonderful. Jenny helped us out at the bar and she was friendly, attentive, and informative (and introduced us to sake + sapporo shots...) They have a new specials list of rolls. I tried the Tiger Roll, which had shrimp tempura, torched salmon, avocado and something else I can't remember. It was delicious. Also, while we were sitting there watching them make sushi, one of the sushi chefs actually made me a little "teaser" roll -- for free -- just because I was so into what he was doing. It was spicy tuna wrapped in avocado and it was AMAZING. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, very classy and well decorated and clean. No fishy smell. It's apparently very popular for take-out, since there were probably 10 people waiting for orders at any given time. We will definitely be going back. I'm thrilled to have a delicious sushi place right here in my neighborhood!

I have since tried the Hot RIver Roll and now that is the only thing I eat. If you like Spicy tuna and Spicy crab in the same roll, this is for you.

East Moon is Nice. I've been here several times. I'd give a four star, not 5 because I think the food could be better (sushi). Food is well priced, I can't complain about that. Service is also good.

I've ordered takeout/delivery from here several times now. Love all the appetizers. All have great flavor and are great to eat. I've ordered several for dinner in place of a regular main course. Main courses that I've had leave a little to be desired. Not much difference between the Pad Thai, Pad Se-ew or drunken noodles. The sushi has always been excellent. Will be back - but mainly for the appetizers.

I went there in the morning.. when I visit friend in Bowie.. the place looks very interesting indeed... as well as the menus I tried their Drunken noodles.. the price wasn't that expensive... but the drunken noodles was so damn delicious................................ lol I don't know why but the sauce was really yummy... I finish that huge bowl within minutes....... :)

I had an office farewell luncheon held here and with advance notice they did an okay job accommodating my party of 15. The food came out pretty late because of the lunch rush. The food was pretty mediocre and very much what one would expect from an Asian fusion. Everything seemed very sauce heavy for my tastes. I do not recommend unless that is your cup of tea.

  • David T.

I stopped eating here because the dishes have all seemed to develop the same issue, too sweet. Not sure what happened but after two visits, dishes that were not suppose to be sweet, were overly sweet.

I have been ordering from them for a year now and it started off just ok and it has gone down hill from there. They are very stingy when it comes to any shrimp order. I just ordered the sesame shrimp lunch portion. I received 5 shrimp on top of a mound of lettuce and broccoli. The shrimp was soggy and if did not taste like any sesame shrimp I have ever had. Last night I ordered the Thai Fried Rice which was suppose to have chicken and shrimp in it. There were 2 shrimp and lots of chicken. I have ordered this at least 10 times this past year and each time there is less and less shrimp. You might as well not even say there is shrimp included. The Sesame Shrimp will be the last order they receive from me. I would suggest finding somewhere else that can cook asian standards and is not cheap with the products when they charge above average prices.

  • Gina R.

I like the food allot especially the sweet sauce for the spring rolls. Nice atmosphere and I prefer going for lunch hours. I normally order the General Tso Shrimp and it's on point. They could use some help on the service side though. The waiters/waitresses aren't that good. They're not rude just a little unfriendly and seems a little inexperienced. But it's a nice environment. No drama and chill like i like it.

This is a nice well appointed restaurant. The staff is very friendly and the food is very fresh and flavorful. A must try here is the sweet potato sushi roll-delicious!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I first discovered this restaurant around the time of its opening I believe it was mid 2008. I first ordered Sushi and I LOVED IT! I then went inside on a whim to experience dining it. I STILL LOVED IT. This restaurant has everything I look for in a fine establishment: Modern Decor ... Check! Great Service... Check! Clean bathrooms ... Check! Generous Portions & High Quality Food CHECK CHECK CHECK! Don't skip this place, You will not be disappointed! Great for a date and a gathering of friends!

The food is fairly reasonably priced and good! The portions are also a good size. I'm 6'2" over 200 and I'm usually full.

My husband and I enjoyed our food from East Moon. We order General Tso's chicken, Angel Roll, Krab Rangoon, and Egg Drop Soup. They were all delicious! The delivery person was on time and was very friendly.

I loooove this restaurant! When I'm having a bad day and need comfort food, East Moon is my first choice. I go so often, the owners and servers know my fiancee and I by face! Hahaha! So many choices and the people are so nice! I LOVE their sushi and the salad appetizer in particular. The salad dressing is so good. I specifically love their Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon rolls which has the crunch in it. I can't find any other restaurant within 10 miles that makes spicy tuna like they do. I also looove their Tokyo roll which has spicy tuna and cucumber I think inside, then tuna and yellowtail fish with avocado on the outside. Just delicious!! I've had their hot food too. Their curry is very flavorful and their General Tso chicken is sooo good. Each plate comes with a complimentary egg roll and rice (if asked for it). They give very large servings so that there is plenty left over to eat for lunch or dinner the next day. Gooo to this restaurant! You'll enjoy it!

  • Krystle K.

I absolutely love this place! They deliver to my house, so they pretty much see me once a week. The prices match pretty much every local sushi place In the Bowie/Crofton area which is average and everything is always fresh. My husband doesn't find the Chinese food to be very good, he says its bland, but I order sushi and it's always delicious.

  • Farida A.

The menu has a lot of choices, which is nice. Tried a bunch of different dishes, most were good but nothing wowed us. House salad w/ peanut dressing - DELICIOUS Summer Roll - decent but had too much mango sauce. if you try it, ask them to skip the yellow sauce. Shrimp Tempura/Jalapeno roll - pretty good Krab Rangoon - yummy, creamy, generous portion Seafood fried rice, lo mein - good Sesame shrimp - delicious!! Fortune cookies - stale :( the staff is attentive and accommodating. overall, it's a decent place. if you're in the area and in a pinch, it's not a bad place to eat at. probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here though.

Still yet to find good Asian food in Anne Arundel County....definitely not impressed by this place. Pad thai was very watery and did not taste like pad thai. Beef was very fatty and rubbery. Waitstaff hovered over the entire meal. Will not be back...

I have lived in Bowie for 3 years....I have ordered from here at LEAST 30 - 40 times. I think I had 2 that were good....not delicious.... THAT IS AMAZING and they made good on the 2 so-so times. I recommend it highly. More than any Japanese places in the area.

We've passed this restaurant for over a year but never realized it was there until we read the reviews on Yelp. I'm glad we did. This is like four restaurants in one. A blend of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisine all on one menu. The food was very tasty. My wife liked it better than all of our local Thai spots. The servers were very attentive. I didn't like one dish and the manager was incredibly responsive with a recommendation for a new dish (one of my new favorites now). The restaurant is kid friendly as well.

We ate dinner again at East Moon Asian Bistro and I was reminded that Nan G has been egging me on to review this new Asian Fusion restaurant which has opened up in Bowie and I have been remiss in my duties! Located in a new shopping center, on 450, just behind the Texas Steakhouse, East Moon Asian Bistro is a spacious restaurant with a sizeable sushi bar and decidely "metropolitan" decor (Black granite tables, Bamboo screens, colored drop lighting and mod-style wall hangings that look as though they would be welcome in Austin Powers bedroom). The whole look is close to overdone, but it works and makes a welcome addition to the neighborhood, both for its environs and food quality. Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese all share equal billing at East Moon and I think you will be hard pressed to find anything objectionable on the menu. My only caveat to that: a pet peeve I have with many Asian Fusion restaurants is that some items are so similar in nature that you have to be careful what your order. Case in point, the Gyoza dumpling and the Fried Meat dumpling are VERY close to the same thing and the dipping sauce for both of them is EXACTLY the same thing. That aside, there is a lot to love about this place. Sushi here is commendable. Nothing too extraordinary, but definitely of high quality. Last night I had a plate of sashimi and a Kani Seaweed salad. Luscious chunks of fresh salmon, Maguro, White Tuna and red snapper. All as fresh as they could be. Friends ordered the Chicken Royal which consisted of stir fried chicken in a light brown sauce with copious amounts of fresh vegetables. Served with white or brown rice. Another friend had the Satay beef, which was an overly generous portion of stir-fried beef in a spicy peanut sauce. I would have appreciated the "spice" factor be kicked up considerably, but the dish was down right addictive as is. Everything comes with their own house salad, which is similar to a traditional Japanese steakhouse salad, iceburg lettuce topped with a yummy sweet peanut dressing. I kept trying to discern exactly what's in it, but I'm at a loss. Guess I'll have to keep visiting.

I really liked this place. The side salad comes with a peanut dressing - a little change from the normal ginger dressing you usually get at Japanese restaurants, but I thought it was really delicious. We got a few sushi rolls, but the only one I remember is the BOWIE BOMB ROLL...SO GOOD. Instead of rice and seaweed wrapped around the filling, they used a hollowed out slice of cucumber. I really, really liked this roll. I will definitely be back when I make my way down again.

Excellent food. Nice fusion of asian and american. Great, fast delivery. Nice atmosphere for a casual evening out as well. Fresh sushi, with interesting chef's specials. The owner and staff are wonderful and welcoming to everyone.

I previously worked in Bowie and would regularly order from this restaurant for lunch. I typically ordered either the Beef Panang Curry or the Drunk Noodles. Both of these were excellent. Some restaurants have a tendency to make the Panang Curry way too sweet, but this one was perfect. The beef was probably the best I've had and the portions are generous. The Drunken Noodles are spicy and taste amazing. I occasionally order this dish with beef as well but even without the meat it's still great. The prices aren't dirt-cheap as you sometimes find at other take-out restaurants but considering how good the food is, an extra dollar or two per entree is merited.

I've eaten here a number of times and really enjoy it. I ordered the sashimi dinner once and got a towering boat of ice covered in all sorts of raw fish. It was an impressive presentation! Their Thai curries are very good, as are their salads and egg rolls. The fancy sushi rolls are fun and tasty, too. The decor is quite nice, if a little vast (I prefer a cozier place in general). The service has always been friendly and helpful as well.

My mother-in-law introduced me to this place and I love it. For the price it is amazing. The ambiance is sophisticated but still welcoming. The only reason that I have it at 4 stars instead of 5 is the location. It is the type of place I would love to go to either before or after an evening out but the location is rather isolated and not especially close to anything else. But regardless I love this restaurant and will continue to go. I have tried all three (dine-in, carry out and delivery). The quality and service has always been great.

I absolutely love this place!!!!!! They are never crowded!! You can dine in or order out!! The ambiance is so serene. It is dimly lit. The seat are extrememl comfortable. THE STAFF IS THE BEST STAFF IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!! They are sooooooooo pleasant and personable. This place prides itself on diner satisfaction. The servers always have suggestions. They do not ever make you feel like you need to get up anytime soon. The FOOD IS TO DIE FOR!!!! They give you sooooo much food. The combination fried rice is 8.95...you will be eating that plate for days!!!! SERIOUSLY!!! You get so much food and it is reasonably priced. Their sushi rolls are huge and soooooo scrumptious!!!! GO TO EAST MOON YALL IF YOU WANT A GOOD AND HEARTY MEAL!!!! they deliver!!!! DOESN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS!!!! GGGGGOOOOOO EAST MOON!!!!!

I love the shrimp and broccoli at East Moon, even though they give you like 5 shrimp. The orange chicken is terrible and i would not recommend to anyone to put orange peels in their food.

Now that I work in the non-urban jungle of Lanham I have to branch out and quasi-lower my lunch option standards. We ordered sushi takeout from here today, and it was ok, by far not the best I've had but a good option since it is actually close. I think I might not do the sushi again, maybe I'm being paranoid or something but it just was a bit off. But like others have said the menu is quite extensive, so I'll try other items that are cooked next time.

ONE OF THEIR (former) BEST CUSTOMERS ~I used to eat here all the time. I hosted many family gatherings here. The food and service were very good when they first came to Bowie. But that was in the past, those days are over. Things have slowly and steadily gone downhill. I had a problem with a carry out order and I called. They knew me by name. I told them the problem and they offered to replace the order at no change. I was concerned about going back to them, but they were so convenient to my house. I started going again, hopeful that the quality would return. It didn't. I still ordered my favorite dish, but it was never the same again. On my final visit I got some NASTY food. I called the manager and told her about it. She told me she couldn't give me anymore free food. What?! I was trying to tell her that there is a problem with the kitchen and she should ask the kitchen manager to check the food before it goes out. She just screamed at me and said I was making it up to get free food. Give me a break. I'm a professional woman who can pay for a meal. I told her I was never returning. Not me, not my family, no more large birthday, anniversary, etc. parties. Do yourself a favor, skip this place and go up to Hilltop Plaza and get a great meal at Chesapeake Deli! If you need Asian food, go to Grace's Fortune or Golden Pavilion, both excellent establishments.

Its a fairly new place, decorated beautifully. In a new, yet not fully occupied shopping center. First of all, every time we have been there the Chicken Satay and Vietnamese Egg Rolls have flavorful and consistently good. This past time I asked the waitress what was her favorite, the Lemongrass Chicken or the Royal Chicken and she said the Royal Chicken was more popular, so that what I went with. It has red & green peppers, cashews, asparagus and onions and lots of flavor. Yummy. Also got the Little Moon Shrimp, good choice. It wasn't over powered with ginger, also had bok choy. They deliver with in a 5 mile radius and I love that! I hope they stick around I am happy with them so far.

This is one of my neighborhood favorites!!! I LOVE the peanut dressing on the salad, and the Thai Rice and General Tso's Chicken are two of my favorites. I have never been disappointed.

To put it bluntly, this place sucks. Save your money, go to panda express at the mall, because that's exactly what it tastes like. Hopefully they will change the menu soon because the place has a ton of potential!

I've been here many times, but oddly never wrote a review. The sushi is very good and the only thing I ever ate here before today. At today's lunch with my family, we all gravitated to Thai food. It was hot and spicy, just the way I like it. But the noodles used for my Drunken Noodle and my niece's Pad Se-Lew were not the regular wide rice noodles every other Asian restaurant uses. These looked more like fettuccine noodles... Um, where they do that at? It was weird and threw off the dish's familiar look and taste. But overall it was still good; I just left most of the noodles on the plate. The Basil Chicken and Panang Curry were on point. Each dish came with sliced oranges, which I thought was a nice touch. The waitresses were no nonsense and very efficient. The food came out super quickly and it was piping hot (and correct)! My water glass was never empty. I'd definitely come back for sushi, and am willing to give the Thai food a second chance. Hopefully they'll get the right noodles in stock!

Overall a good place with bright, colorful decor, clean, good service and presentation. They have great happy hour specials and their happy hour is a generous 3-8pm. They have appetizers for $3-5 and most mixed drinks are $5 with beers available as well. Most menu items are $8-12 for an entree. The only reason it's not a five star place is that the food could use a bit more...something. It was a smidge greasy, perhaps a bit too much sauce. Still, good overall. We did not try the sushi but it looks like there is a wide variety to try, as well as plum wines, sakis and other fun drinks. If I lived in the area, this would be my go to place for happy hour. Parking was very easy since it's located in a strip mall.

Servers are super friendly, fancy decor, Food presentation is very nice, but food is lacking a lot of flavor. Ordered the chicken teriyaki...comes with nearly raw vegetables and rice. The chicken was paper thin, tasteless and burnt grill marks which makes for a bitter aftertaste. Other than tasteless food the place is very nice and vibrant.

While the service was nice the cleanliness of the glassware and utensils were horrible! My glasses were the dirtiest Ive ever seen and I requested to go containers, the spoon for my miso soup was sticky and after requesting a new one the new one was also sticky! all of their plates and glasses had this strange film as if they werent washed well or just weren't washed at all! I took photos to prove it. I frequent sushi places and Im so sad to report that this place isn't clean at all. looks can be deceiving, the nice decor will not make up for dirty dishes! ... check the photos of the glass I posted, and if you do decide to eat here check your dishes... I only noticed because. sat in the one booth that had direct sunlight, all the other tables are under dim light... sneaky... I hope they do better, but i won't ever return there.

I have never had a bad experience here. The decor is classy, the staff is fast and friendly, the entire place is clean, they will make your food to order even if it is slightly different than what's on the menu and the food is always amazing! They play Christian music and kids are welcome.

Have to give them a poor rating this time, unfortunately. We have used their on-line system for ordering delivery without a hitch, but this time, after waiting an hour and calling, they had no record of our order, despite a confirmation e-mail in my inbox. Not good.

I like this place their sushi is good...Disappointed today with the customer svc... I ordered a chicken tempura and AAC roll when I got my plate that it had shrimp tempura on it... I told the girl that took my order that that is not what I ordered. She decided she wanted to argue with me & I reiterated my point. She put the paper pad in my face and showed me "Shrimp" is it my fault that you can't hear? I think not. Why would I order something I'm allergic to?? Anyway... As she was walking away she started some mumbled something in her native tongue under her breath... That's when I decided I did not want to eat at this establishment any longer. I paid for my drink and left. Word the wise if you are going to talk about your customer or complain about them make sure that you're not doing it within earshot. RUDE!!

My favorite "new to me" spot for Asian cuisine. Crab Rangoon and dumplings my favorite appetizers. I stick with the shrimp and broccoli and it is always fresh and hot. Delivery is on point too.

The food is excellent. We had appetizers and sushi. Seaweed salad and Thai spring rolls. Sashimi dinner, Alaska roll and lobster roll. All tasty and elegantly played. The service wasn't very good. When we wanted to order more sushi and the waiter next came to the table, she had brought the check. And while the water glasses were always full, the plates were banged around and it all had a feel of a less classy establishment.

  • Lhoi R.

The appetizers and Vegetarian sushi rolls were great and the place looks fine but smells like old moldy place with poor exhaust. I'm disappointed about the shiitake mushroom with crispy duck... 1st the mushroom served wasn't shiitake, it came out with regular button mushrooms and the duck is so tough... The manager came to settle my argument about the mushroom saying that's what they normally serve ever since they open- I still did not give in and she said that its not in season duh?!!!She asked if she could do something else & I said no--- I'm done with it- later she came back saying that the chef said that they have shiitake mushroom and if I want she could take bad my plate and put it in there but I opted for it to be served on the side and it came on a small bowl which is not enough as they have priced that dish. Shouldn't they have informed the costumer ahead if they don't have shiitake or change/ edit the menu?! They thought I don't know what I'm eating / season of vegetables/ mushroom & tried to fool me....I'm not a food dummy! They should have learned from this experience. I won't be back at all.

Not too impressed, but not really disappointed. We here on a whim because it was on the way home from where I was coming from, and m wife had a crazy craving for sushi. It was either here or another location. Nonetheless we chose to come here. When I walked in, I immediately thought it was a nice place and has the potential to be a decent night spot judging by the decor and the ambiance. Long story short, we ordered the Shrimp Tempura, Pad Se-ew, and General Tso's Chicken. The Shrimp Tempura was pretty good and worth getting again. The Pad Se-ew was not the usual Pad Se-ew we are used to getting. The noodles were slim (but wide) and not the same consistency of a regular Pad Se-ew. In addition (or should I say lack there of), it lacked the usual vegatables and taste as Pad Se-ew from anywhere else I've been to. Bad to compare, but on the same note, this was not at all what I expected. The General Tso's Chicken came out on a nice display (as did all the food) with my fried rice in a heart shape. Nice touch, is what I thought. The General Tso's was fairly decent. It was fresh, seemingly real chicken, and the rice... Well, it's kind of hard to mess up rice. The service could use a little fine tuning. The appetizer came out within 10 minutes of ordering it, but the main dish came out about 20-30 minutes after the appetizer. Keep in mind, this was after lunch time, there were only 6 customers in the restaurant (including us), so there was no excuse on the delay. Or if there was an excuse, they should have broadcasted it. The waitress came off slightly annoyed for what ever reason, but that should not have been displayed. All in all, the service was not enough to turn me away from ever coming back, but it won't be a regular place for me to visit and eat. I will admit, I do want to try going here on a Friday or Saturday night, just because I think it would draw a pretty decent crowd. As with all my post: PLEASE GO AND FORM YOUR OWN OPINION. Then write about it so we all can see how your experience was.

DO NOT EAT THERE!!! Wish I could rate this 0 stars. Used to eat there often. Wonder why the lights are so low inside? Maggots in the spring rolls! Disgusting! When I called the manager who said her name was Ava she told me I just wanted another free egg roll and to save the egg roll and bring it back and she would charge me the difference for wherever I replace it with!! REALLY???? Nasty! Needless to say we took the whole meal back for our refund.

My mother ordered the thai basil rice a few months ago from here and I loved it. This weekend I was craving something spicy and flavorful so I decided to order in from East Moon. I ordered the Thai Basil rice with shrimp and the California roll. The food got to me in a timely manner but the delivery guy seemed jittery and uneasy. Maybe it was too hot? Idk Once I got the food I went straight to the sushi. Can you say a-maz-ing!?!?! Im somewhat new to the sushi world, hence me ordering the California roll, but this is by far the best sushi I've had. The reason for the three star rating is due to the lackluster Thai Basil rice. I was more excited about the rice than the sushi but that changed after the first bite of my California roll. Anywho, the rice wasn't at all of what I remembered. I recall being amazed by the many different flavors I tasted in each bite. But I didn't get that this time. I'll definitely be back for the sushi...maybe I'll try the Thai Basil rice again.

Ordered online delivery. Website said 40-50 minutes but they showed up in 1 hour 15 minutes. Pad Thai was soggy...good pad thai should never be sitting in juice...peanuts were not crunchy, just a mushy dinner. Tasted ok. Crab rangoons are decent but I prefer the crab and cream cheese inside to have a little sweetness. I will give this place another chance but would not order these things again.

Goto "Chinese" food spot. Everything I've ever ordered was hot, tasted good, had good ingredients and had good value. Great sushi too.

I ordered spicy sea bass, orange chicken, shrimp fried rice and spring rolls. The food was not flavorful. The chicken had a lot of fat and skin on it and the sea bass and fried rice was bland. I will not purchase food from this place again.

Typically, I would've given East Moon 4 stars but after dining there this evening I had to knock off some points. It started off with my friend and I waiting 15min before we had to let them know we needed to be serviced...mind u we r sitting at an empty bar and the staff and sushi chefs were on the other side of us. We ordered sushi...everything came out get, fast, fresh, nice size rolls...no complaints on the sushi and spring rolls., or desserts. However, during my dining experience I needed a refill on my water, the sushi chef gave it to my waitress who took it to the sink to refill it when the filtered water spout was right there. They thought I was not paying attention bc you cannot see behind the partition, but I heard her turn on the fosset, turn it off, and handed me the water. I asked for her to use the filtered water....the sushi chef apologized bc he saw that I was disturbed. She remade the water...filtered this time, and apologized as well. The rest of the experience went well except for the end. They close at 10pm and at 9:55 the were rushing us out. I asked, what looked like the manager, what time they close....his response was "Now!" At that point I had enough. I spent a lot of money and tipped appropriately money and i can't even get decent service in return. I know I will be going back to East Moon!

Visiting here from out of town. The sushi here is good but the Chinese food are all very sweet tasting, no matter what dish you order. Will not eat Chinese food here but yes to sushi.

I've been going here on and off since it opened. It's some of the better Asian food in the immediate area. It does tend to be on the bland side, but it's tasty and well portioned. They give you little salads before your meal, which are really good. I usually want some more. They aren't the friendliest bunch. Not mean or rude, just, not very enthusiastic. Don't be surprised if you can read what the staff would rather be doing on their faces. The take out is frustrating, which is why I gave three, instead of four stars. They only have one phone line, which is usually busy. That might be a sign that they are busy. But in this case, it's more likely they picked up the phone and set it down to go and get someone else, instead of having and using a hold button. It happens every time they answer the phone. They ask how they can help, then go get someone else, usually leaving you listening to restaurant noise for a few minutes. It's just frustrating and I have given up on eating their food on a few occasions because of it. I do keep going back though. So, I still think it's worth a shot.

I have been trying this place out some more because it is so close to my house. Like I said in my previous review, the chicken lettuce wraps and dumplings are always pretty good. I did discover that their godzilla roll is pretty good also. And the owners/managers are always so friendly when I order my food to go.

They have the best Bowie Crab Roll! Portion sizes are small for other items, they only have the peanut ginger dressing for salads. Service is ok and food is ok.

  • Drea G.

Meh. Left under-whelmed and still hungry. Spicy scallops were not spicy. The chicken panang had too many vegetables and did not have much flavor other than the over-powering coconut milk. Needed more spice and salt. Fried rice was warm and tasted like something out of a box at Giant. Service was fast but seemed as though the waitstaff stood over you until you put your fork down so they could hurry and get you out. Over-priced in terms of quality. Wasn't horrible but wasn't good either.

Not bad, but was disappointed that thai peanut sauce curry that listed four specific vegetables on the menu contained NONE of them and instead had quartered tomatoes (?!) and various other vegetables, apparently whatever they still had available. Should at least have mentioned the substitution to us when we picked it up. Other items ordered were ok, but also contained a strange mix of vegetables.

If this review was only bout the food and restaurant it would have been 3 or 3.5 stars. However, I am including my delivery experiences. Food / Restaurant: It's good but not great. However, for Bowie, it is definitely worthy of checking out. I usually get the vegetable spring rolls, pad thai, drunken noodles or some of the curries. All of the former are pretty good. The spring rolls taste fresh and hot and are very crispy. The Pad Thai is mostly noodles with a little egg and protein mixed in. They really do skimp on the green onions and vegetables. The drunken noodles are similar, mostly noodles with some protein mixed in. Again, the vegetables are scarce in both dishes. I also tried the Tofu Soup, which seems new on the menu, and it is quite bland (not sure what to expect from such an offering). I put some Srirachi in it, and it spiced it up a bit. I have tried their sushi and seaweed salad, and I have not been disappointed. It is not the best I have had in the DC area, but for the location it really can't be beat. Delivery: However, I do have a complaint. if you order delivery, chances are you will get an old Asian man. This guy has a TERRIBLE attitude and demeanor. I am sitting in my house, and I hear BANG BANG BANG, the guy is literally slamming his hands into my door! I don't even want the cops doing that let a lone a delivery driver. This is not the only time it has happened, it has happened at least 2 other times. The most recent time it has happened was today, and he got me so irritated, that I was going to have some words with him. However, I honestly don't know if he speaks English so I just stared at him (as he stared at me, without a word), took the receipt and gave him his tip (which he really did not deserve). This guy has the most rotten attitude of any delivery driver I have ever encountered. He has never smiled, he just looks at you with contempt and quickly hands you the food. On top of that, I once asked him for change (the bill was $12 and some cents), and I gave him a $20. I told him just give me $5 back (3 dollar tip) and he got pissed - I guess he expected a $8 tip, which if he was any good at customer service, I might have been inclined to give. I have also gotten another delivery driver from the same restaurant and he was great. This guy is just someone you know hates his job, and is mad at the world. IEast moon, you need to teach him some delivery etiquette or let the other driver you have work more because if anyone from your establishment bangs on my door that hard again with the same rotten attitude (I mean literally he stares at you with contempt), I will be telling them to take the food back and never ordering from you again.

This is a nice quiet restaurant with friendly service and artsy decor. They have quite a large menu with a lot of variety but we usually get California roll and sweet and sour chicken and both are always very good. They have lunch and dinner prices on the menu. We like to come here because it's a nice quiet atmosphere with good food and service.

While I am still a fan of East Moon Asian Bistro, I wasn't too happy with my latest experience and probably won't order from their "seafood" menu again (save for their sushi). I ordered the "Taste of Siam" last night and totally wish I hadn't. It was my first time getting delivery from them and the food was a bit cold when it arrived. No worries. I have a microwave. Wasn't going to complain too much about that. I was disappointed with the actual meal though. On the website, the "Taste of Siam" is described, and I quote, as "Long eggplant, topped of with spicy seafood in coconut sauce with deep fried or grilled shrimp, scallop, and sea bass." Since I am trying to avoid carbs, I ordered it with the grilled shrimp. HOWEVER, when it came, the eggplant, the scallops, and the sea bass were all deep fried and the shrimp was not. HUH? Deep fried vs. grilled was not even specified for the other seafood, only the shrimp. Was I to assume that everything comes fried? If anything, I would think that they would make sure to serve that grilled too as I did request grilled shrimp. That would have played it safe on their end. It wasn't like the meal was under "Fried Foods." It was under "seasfood." Ugh. I spent the beginning part of my meal just scrapping off all the fried breading. Horrible! The inside was fine and the scallops were pretty good, but the eggplant (because it was fried) was completely inedible. I wound up stealing some of my husband's panang which was fabulous. I am only deducting one star because their sushi really is good, their drinks are strong, and their panang can't be beat, but this is the second time I have been disappointed with their "seafood dishes." Stop frying everything, for Pete's sake, and let the flavor shine through.

This place is only 9.2 miles from my house. I will drive to get their food. They serve a good amount of food. it is a quaitn little spot in a shopping district. the prices are very reasonable and the presentation was good. Only issuei had was the waitier didnt give me breathing room when I 1st sat down. I was late meeting my friend, and as soon as i sat down he was looking for my order. they hoovered over the table, but we were sitting next to the serivice table, but i felt liekthey were watching us and wanted us to hurry up.

Mediocre Asian food at best. Although I'm sure you could find worse places to eat, this one leaves a lot to be desired. The complementary fried noodles were stale. The oil used to fry the fried rice had a strange taste. At least the broccoli in the one dish was steamed well. Aside from the complementary fried noodles, the food was edible.

  • Cameo S.

So delicious! This place came highly recommended and deservedly so! We got the orange chicken and the broccoli and beef. They were both possibly the best of each that we've ever had. Their spring rolls are super yummy and so is the sauce to dip them in. Their lunch prices are very reasonable and portions are nice. We will definitely be coming back here again. I think we've found our new go-to place for awesome Chinese/Asian food.

I ordered the sesame chicken lunch portion with fried rice. Let's just say I've had better and won't be returning there. The food sucks, I can fix this dish better at home and I've Never, mind you NEVER cooked sesame chicken before! It had no flavor really bland so that's just it! I can admit their food is cheap, but still not worth my dollar!

Here is a customer service tip and will not go back again due to ordering delivery through Beyond menu app and receive the phone call from restaurant that some items that are on the list they can't deliver. I asked to substitute for something simmilar and reply was I have to pay more. I asked if they can remove the item and deliver the rest when the guy replied that he see I am usual customer and I said yes. Then he said thatminimum for delivery is $10 and my order by removing that item is only $9.75. I asked that if they be willling to deliver that since I am paying $1.00 delivery charge and also it was not my fault that their website have not been updated yet and it let me place delivery item that can't be delivered. In reply he said he is sorry and still will not deliver unless I buy something else. I canceled my order and will never go there again and will let my friend know as well.

Man I love a good Chinese restaurant. And a good Thai restaurant. And some Japanese sushi. Or occasionally some Indian curry. But where could I find all of these together? What's that, East Moon Asian Bistro serves them all?! This is another one of those neo-hipster-style chains slowly showing up on our shore, and I'm so glad they did. Primarily a Chinese restaurant, this place has never disappointed. Far better than your typical carry-out and yet less expensive than your over-priced joints (*cough* P.F. Changs *cough*), I always enjoy a night out here. Some of my favorites include: Beef & Broccoli - Sounds boring and average, right? No, when this first came out and I saw fresh, crisp broccoli and actual strips of beef, I was shocked. I can't go back to the old soggy, salty nastiness you get in your local dive after eating this stuff. Pad Thai - Oh do I love some good Thai food and this is it right here. I love anything with a peanut sauce and this has it but without being overpowering. Plus, the portions are huge! Only one thing is better... Pad Se-Lew - Want something with just a slight sweeter taste? I could eat this every single day! Of course, maybe that's why I weigh what I do. :P Sushi - I have tried a bunch of sushi here and 99% of it is good. They know what they're doing and they do it well. Of course, that 1% is my beloved California Roll, but that's because I've had the best Cali-Roll ~ever~ and no other shall compare. (See "House of Peking Choice" in Laurel!) So, over-all this place rocks. Good food, great variety, decent prices, and an interesting atmosphere. If you're in Bowie or your group can't decide on what type of Asian cuisine they want... go here!

East Moon by far has the best sushi in this area. The service is prompt and friendly! I've been twice and have ordered the Godzilla Roll, Tuna Tempura, Sweetheart Roll and Seaweed salad. I have been more than pleased each visit. While I have not made my way completely through the sushi menu, I can say that what I have tasted has been outstanding. The restaurant would make a terrific place to host a birthday, anniversary, baby or bridal shower.

Whether I'm starving or just want a light meal, I can find great options for appetizers, sushi, or a hot meal with meat and rice or noodles. They have a variety of Asian dishes, but I mostly focus on their Thai and Japanese food. The decor is modern/stylish with some bamboo and natural elements. There's a large sushi bar, and a separate dining room with lots of seating. Some of my favorite dishes at East Moon are: Seaweed salad (large serving presented in a martini glass) Avocado salad (lettuce, tomato, sliced avocado, sesame dressing) Thai green curry (includes lots of eggplant and other veggies) Any sushi or sashimi (large cuts of meat, very fresh, and well prepared) This place is also a great deal, with fairly large portions. Even the salads sometimes are too much to finish. They add a lot of nice decorative touches with their presentation, such as vegetables carved into roses, or the rice moulded into a heart shape. The servers are extremely friendly and well-organized. I was particularly impressed with how well they do with large groups, as long as you make a reservation ahead of time. I have been there twice with a group of around 15, and they managed to get everyone's meal out quickly, around the same time, and got all the orders correct.

I've gone to this restaurant quiet often for lunch and a few times for dinner. This place is awesome! If you want class and great service this is the place to go. The ambiance is casual but can also be romantic. Very nice decor. Great customer service! They start you off with a salad with peanut dressing which is SO GOOD. The pot stickers with peanut sauce is to die for! and I am not a peanut person. A friend of mine LOVES the Pad Thai here. He has gone to several places for Pad Thai and think this is one of his top places. Royal Chicken is plain and lacks a little kick but still good. The spring rolls are just how they are suppose to be -crispy on the outside and delicious veggies inside. The tempura is cooked PERFECT! Perfect crispy outside and not overcooked. Thai Spring Rolls are good too! Lo Mein cooked perfect - not soggy and no flavor like some other places. The Hot & Spicy Shrimp is SO GOOD!! Good size shrimp and the ingredients they use blend perfectly together. DRINKS! The French Connection and Pomegranate Margarita's is one of the best i've had and trust me I am a Margarita connoisseur! lol Bottom line...Go to this place and you will not be disappointed.

Perhaps the lack of nightclubs in the area East Moon is filling in the gap, but really?!? The sushi was fresh and wonderful, and that was take out. The family highly enjoyed it. But the pick up part was too much for me. I felt like standing at the bar, trying to flirt with the bartender to get a free drink; it was crazy! Three stars for the sushi, two less stars for the restaurant pretending to be the club.

I am a frequent here and at their Glen Burnie location ONLY because of the sushi. Their Bowie servers are slow, even when the restaurant has no one else in it. They will take 20 minutes to take our orders, and even longer to bring our food to us. I like the sushi, but have never enjoyed the actual dishes. I only go here because I don't know many good sushi places in the area and I am a fan of a few of their sushi plates. Their servers speak very poor English, which only gets irritating because these are the people you have to speak to the most, so not understanding English makes things very hard when trying to enjoy your meal

First time waaayy too much fish sauce second time it took them almost an hour to deliver sushi no one checked on us and the rest was empty. Two stars because the food was OK too pricey OK third time much better

PROS- great sushi, fast carryout/delivery, low prices, clean, modern bar, close location, complimentary house salad with meal. CONS- communication breakdown/language barrier, non-traditional food, very slow lunch service. I have a love-hate relationship with this restaurant. What I like the best about this place is the close proximity to my parents house, which is a major plus. The sushi bar is great, and produces lots of creative and fresh food quickly. I've been dozens of times and have never been let down. The carryout service is fast and easy to understand. the liquor/sushi bar has cable TV displayed on flat screens and a colorful, modern lit area. Its a nice place to even sit down alone and get an appetizer and a drink. You also receive a complementary house salad with your meal, and won't break the bank when the bill comes. The bad side is a lot of the food on the main menu you order in the main dining room is not traditional Asian food. Lots of the entrees have vegetables or spices in them that are not typically supposed to be there. The Tom Ka Gai soup has tomatoes in it, and the rest of the Thai cuisine has all the wrong seasonings and spices. The pho soup looks and tastes nothing like Vietnamese cuisine. Some of the Chinese food is off as well; sometimes the General Tso's or Kung Pao contains bell peppers or baby corn. If you don't mind these things, then there shouldn't be a problem, but I personally wouldn't order anything that wasn't sushi or Americanized Chinese food. The wait staff is friendly, but most of them have a very weak grasp of the English language. I'd say every time I have visited, there has been a miscommunication or language barrier with orders or the check. Sometimes the food is not how you specified or things that you never ordered show up on the check out of nowhere. I don't visit there for lunch anymore during the week because I'm always late to return back to work. Once it took over half an hour to settle the bill. If you live in Bowie, this restaurant works fine, but I wouldn't travel here if you lived outside of the area.

Go to place for Sushi for me - so many choices and all so good. Exciting presentation, lively space, try the Godzilla rolls. Only down side is the waiters really need to brush up on their English - they couldn't understand one of our party who is rather particular about his food. You have to be prepared to explain things in simple terms that they will understand which is annoying in an English-speaking country. I on the other hand have never had a problem and enjoy my times at this restaurant immensely. Because of that, and some other minor service quirks (tunnel waitress vision when I want something, but grabbing bowls out of my hand when I appear to be finished) I'm going with four not five stars.

I remember remarking to my wife that we needed an upscale Chinese restaurant. This is 5 years ago; well 3 years ago we saw signs for a new chinese restaurant. There was only the one carryout/restaurant in the area and it was just ok fare, nothing to write home (or period) about. Naturally, we waited until they got their liquor license before we tried them out. Boy, am I glad we did! Every dish we've tried thus far as been excellent- texture, flavor, appearance, they've got it all down pat. I'm not a sushi guy, but my nephews are and they raved about it. My wife and I are partial to the nouveau Chinese items- no complaints, this is a favorite dining spot of ours, although of late we've been opting for the carryout option just because its even more fun to enjoy it in the comforts of home! The decor is modern and ultra-cool...there is an impression of light and space and the place overall is well appointed, with granite counter tops (even on the tables, its lovely); the service is friendly and attentive, truly top notch in my book. The drinks are made to order, they have a nice selection of booze, wine and beer. I am partial to the beef on a stick appetizers...they make an excellent meal opener; I've had most of their chicken dishes and they were all very good, especially the pad thai- it was better than most of the Thai restaurants that I've been to in the area, overall this is just a great place to have a meal. The happy hours can get energetic, but I find that refreshing that a group of people can let their hair down and have a good time.

My parents live near Bowie and absolutely love this place. I am not quite so fond, but I have come to realize things I can order and things I will not be happy with. I almost always stick with the sushi. It's pretty good, nothing I would rave about, but it's decent and fresh. My parents advertised this as a Thai place to us so that's what I ordered the first time I went. I ordered the panang curry that time, and it was like no other panang curry I have ever tasted. It had a bunch of veggies in it, and I am used to only ever seeing it with broccoli or sometimes a red pepper or two. The flavor was off too. I did not really even want to finish it. The appetizers, on the other hand, were pretty good, yet pretty basic and hard to screw up. They definitely have a nice presentation of their food, but the various Thai dishes I've tasted are just not satisfying to me. I would stick with the sushi!!

I would love to give this place four stars. The food is excellent. The sushi is to die for. Unfortunately the pick up and delivery service is a completely different story. My family orders from this place on a regular basis because it is located so conveniently and the delivery is fast (typically less than 15 minutes). The first barrier to them not completely screwing up an order is the language barrier. While I admire those that master more than one language, they really need to get someone that has a firm understanding of English to take the orders. Whenever we get a delivery from them we never know what we're going to get. Almost half the time something is missing or something is incorrect. Even after repeating the order several times they still manage to screw it up. Unless you're planning a sitdown dinner I would not recommend this place. The only way to ensure that your order is correct would to be sitting right there when the food arrives. FlashForward 20 minutes: The delivery guy arrives to deliver the rest of the order. He hands me something that is not even anywhere close to what we ordered. After calling the store while he is standing there, he goes back into his car and realizes he has handed me the wrong food. This place is a three ring circus with only two rings.

I love asian food and this place combines my love for great food and art, I took my mom here for a mom/ daughter lunch to catch up A really beautiful well lit restaurant and artistic lamps and sculptural lighting and a modern contemporary atmosphere sets the mood for what is to come out of the kitchen. The food is really good and artfully prepared in large portions and a pretty ecclectic menu and the waitstaff is super attentive and nice When you combine a very creative modern space and the food matches the atmosphere..you've got the perfect recipe/harmony

Prior to a few days ago, I had eaten here twice, both times getting hot food. Once was just after it opened and the other was some time in very early 2012. My reaction to both would have been "slightly better than decent." However, I recently got tired of driving to Annapolis every time I wanted sushi and have been trying every sushi place in the Bowie area to see what the best local substitute is. East Moon is easily winning so far, and is definitely the best of the three choices along the 450 corridor, being easily superior to Koto and equal to if not a little better than Grace's and noticeably cheaper (not to mention less noisy, easier to park for and not surrounded by a cloud of cigar smoke from the outside patio).

Came here during the middle of the week with a couple of my girlfriends, restaurant is pretty big compared to how it looks like from the outside. Food pretty good, for starters I order a seaweed salad which was served on a martini glass... pretty cute but I would've liked some chop sticks to accompany it but whatever. I wasn't able to finish it because I was almost getting full oh and for being in a martini glass it was actually a lot of seaweed. For my entrée I ordered a shrimp tempura sushi and a sweet potato sushi both pretty darn yummy. The sweet potato came out warm just as I expected since it was deep fried and the shrimp tempura was huge!! For only being 5-6 pieces (I can't remember exactly how many it was) it was fulfilling. I'm not used to buying sushi here in Maryland and only getting 5 or 6 pieces compared to California where everything comes in 8 pieces or more. So if 6 pieces can get full stick to just one order. I'll probably come back here again with a couple of friends for the chilled sake. For 12 bucks they have this bubbly/sparkling sake that comes in a pink bottle and my girlfriends and I loved it!! There were about 5 of us and with just one bottle we were able to get through two rounds.

Never heard of this place until I met a friend for lunch this afternoon. Clean and tidy with polite staff. I really liked the decor of the establishment, would be a nice venue to use for an intimate private event. The server greeted us with small complimentary salads. It was a nice gesture but the costco-bought-pre-mixed lettuce and carrot medley left much to be desired. The peanut dressing was pleasant but overshadowed by the peanut butter. A generous portion of edamame followed, just the way I like it - salty. My lunch partner had Sesame Chicken and I ventured with the Spicy Basil Chicken. The Sesame chicken dish was nicely prepared, but the spicy bath of basil infused soy sauce that my over sized vegetables and chicken swam in was not enjoyable. A nice presentation touch, was the double heart-shaped mound of steamed RICE.

I have been to better asian restaurants but East Moon offers a nice variety of Asian foods that are quite tasty. When trying their dishes judge them on their own merits - as unique flavors to this restaurant and you won't be disappointed. If you expect authentic Thai or authentic Chinese on the other hand, you could be disappointed. We usually go here nearly once a week. I have tried all of the chicken dishes and love them all but the Basil chicken is my favorite. We usually do not eat sushi but friends we have taken here liked the sushi. Like other reviewers, I love the peanut dressing - such a simple little salad with a lot of flavor. Many of the appetizers are very satisfying. Servers are consistently pleasant and attentive. We have always had very good service. Since the restaurant is near our home and we don't have a lot to choose from, I really appreciate the quirky decor and atmosphere. Quite different from many other places nearby. We will continue to visit East Moon and urge others to do the same. It won't disappoint.

I wanted to like this place but I just can't. The food was not very flavorful and the noodles were stuck together. I ordered the thai coffee or tea, I can't remember which and it was not made right. The decor was really nice. might be a place for drinks but not dinner.
