Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

If you want to try this, eat-in. The delivery is just terrible. We've tried several times since they are the only restaurant around here that delivers, but every time the order is late (once by two hours) & generally something is wrong or missing. The pizza is so-so (Weis' is much better!), but the orchard salad is very good. The folks behind the counter are very friendly and that does count for a lot in my book.

We've eaten in once at Vesta and ordered takeout twice. We really liked the pizza, salad and mozzerella sticks (which tasted home-made). The eggplant parm sub was very disappointing - the bread was terrible, and the eggplant was kind of mushy and the breading didn't stick to it. So I can't recommend the subs, but we've enjoyed the other food we've tried from Vesta.

Another New Yorker passing through. As with many of these small towns "restaurants," they are a jack of all trades, master of none. That being said, you can't complain about 2 slices (with a topping) and a large soda for $3.99.

We stopped in for dinner on our way back to D.C. from Hagerstown. For some reason, my phone had no service, so we were flying blind. I remembered hearing that Boonsboro had a few restaurants, and we were with our kids, so we chose Vesta. The service was a bit slow. The wings were tasty but the sauce was a tad gloppy. My daughter had the Philly Cheesesteak and said it was delicious. The rest of us split a cheese pizza. The crust was an excellent blend of chewy and crispy, but didn't taste like much. The sauce was eh and it could have used more cheese. For dessert, we had the cheesecake, and while it was crumbly, it was very tasty. Overall, an okay experience.

Being from NYC, I guess I have high standards for what I think is good pizza. Vesta didn't do it for me at all.

Honestly I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is cute, it's in a great location, and parking is a breeze behind the building. However the pizza and calzone's were just not that great. I've eaten here a few times but was sadly disappointed in the food. The calzone I ordered barely had any cheese. I'm talking a tablespoon of ricotta. Next time I ordered I specifically asked for more, and offered to pay extra. Still no cheese. The pizza sauce has a weird taste as well. I wish the pizza was just better here. For the closeness of the restaurant, the local grocery store actually has a better tasting pizza.

**This is stop 3 on my list "Road Trips Around DC: Canoeing and Civil War History in MD."** This is some of the worst pizza that I've had in my entire life. All they really need to do are the following two things: 1. make their own sauce recipe instead of using bland, canned, vat produced sauce. It's very simple to make a homemade sauce and may actually be cheaper in the end than the cans because they'll increase their customer base that much more (I mean, come on, there's a college down the street who would kill for good pizza!) 2. they actually need to COOK the pizza. It seems they may need to invest in a good brick oven because, without even seeing the kitchen, there was no brick oven goodness going on with this pizza. And, the pizza did stay true to New York style, thickness, etc. But seriously, this pizza needed about 20-25 more minutes in the oven. The waitress who brought it to us even said it may need to be cooked more (she should tell the chef, not the customers) and other Yelpers agree. Raw onions that you mostly have to pick off is a big sign. Signs the pizza is done: browned, bubbling edges, and toasted, semi-wilted veggies and VOILA! On the bright side, the other veggie we had were fresh and they'd have slammin pizza if they did the above two things. I'll even accept the canned mushrooms. In fact, I think canned mushrooms might be better for pizza because of the moisture content. I'm sure some foodie out there will castigate me for saying that, but hey we each have our own likes. The greek salad was awesome and huge - enough for 4 people. I was expecting iceberg lettuce. The mixed dark greens were JUST on the brink of freshness so, again, they need to be careful with teetering on the this line of using less than stellar ingredients. The waitress was nice and very friendly and attentive, but should stand up for the customers when she sees the food isn't up to par. Also, this is definitely a local joint- someone running for office was staked out for the night to introduce herself. Finally, the prices are right. We had a large pizza, a huge salad, and a soda and glass of wine for $25. I unfortunately heard about this place from The Washingtonian as part of their fall day trips issue. I have to say, Washingtonian, I'm disappointed in you for recommending it, but it doesn't seem there is much else around. I'd really be in favor of going back if I knew this place invested in a great oven and made their own sauce. They have tons of potential to make themselves famous in a touristy, college bound area surrounded by small towns that don't even have their own eateries at all. After dinner, head directly next door for ice cream and get "muddy sneakers" and pecan turtle flavors. (It has a great porch and giant multi-color palm trees- can't remember the name, but you can't miss it).

I had their Italian sausage sub and was very happy with it. At 55 years of age and a HUGE fan of subs, I told my wife, "I can't recall ever having a sausage sub that good!!" TIP: Cheese is optional. I highly recommend having a couple slices between the sauce and the bread to keep the bread from getting mushy. My wife had the seafood pizza. It was good, but not great. They should work on spicing it up a little more.

They clearly don't know how to make chicago style pizza. Chicago style pizza isn't 4 inches deep filled with dough, it's toppings and cheese..today I ordered a chicago pizza..I got a medium sized less than half cooked 4 inch thick pizza. I sent it back to be cooked longer but not expecting it to be possible. It wasnt. They made the dough so thick it was impossible to cook! They almost burned it an said it was still dough And said that's how that pizza is. Lol I said no thanks I will pass I don't want to get sick from eating raw dough.

We always eat here. The pizza isnt good and service is terribly slow. We watch the workers just gab gab gab at the counter while ignoring customers. It used to be so much better 2 years ago then something happened and no one cares about customers. Oh well not going anymore sry.

Came in to town for Geowoodstock XIII at the local AG Center. We swung by and found this great place. My daughters enjoyed the Alfredo and we ordered a really good pizza. It was nice to see they started off with fresh dough and it tasted wonderful. I come to this area 2 or 3 times a year and now I have a place to stop!

Their warrior steak n cheese sub is amazing, the best we ever had. Love the delivery option. The personnel are friendly. These are the 3 reasons for the 3 stars. I agree with others, pizza not cooked right, cheese is tasteless, seafood pizza awful, and the sampler platter we ordered was way overpriced and nothing has flavor. I'm hoping their pastas and gyro prove to be good.
(3)Kimberly D.
Pizza was pretty good and they have a very extensive menu. Your bound to find something you like on the menu. After the fact it was cool to learn this place is owned by romance/mystery writer Nora Robert's son.

Best pizza in five states. Try the thin crust with sausage, olives, and sliced tomatoes and cold beer. Heaven.

One of my favorite places to go in Boonsboro. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the Chipotle steak sub. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Also love their Carolina BBQ wings. Battered wing dings smothered in sweet sauce. Yum. I'm a huge fan of French fries with gravy so I try it just about everywhere I go- there's are really interesting. They add horseradish to the gravy which gives it a nice kick. And the pizza, yes, it's good too. Sweet waitress and friendly staff with good tunes in the background doesn't make me think twice about where to eat when I'm in town!
(5)Jason D.
I gave it two stars instead of one because of the friendly staff and reasonable price. I have tried their pizza three times hoping for improvement and it hasn't happened. The bottom of the crust is never done and crispy, always sloppy and soggy. The sauce is really bland. It sucks that my best pizza choice in town is Weis. Someone from Vesta needs to go to Fratelli's in Funkstown or King's in Shepherdstown to learn how to make pizza crust, sauce and how to cook it.

I enjoy the pizza and subs at this place. They are reasonably priced and always friendly when we eat in or carry out. It's just a good neighborhood pizza place with a good atmosphere.

I live 3.3 miles away and they will not deliver to me. They will deliver to Sharpsburg (per their website) which is 6 miles away from them. We would have gone there to eat but every time we go there the service is extremely slow. Their food is not bad but we won't be eating there anymore as their customer service is horrible!!
(1)Heidi F.
Better than most pizza! It's no Rockys but they're pretty darn close! The atmosphere is very nice and so are the wait staff. They just need to perfect the pizza a little.
(4)Teresa W.
My issues: mushrooms on the pizzas are of the canned variety I like my pizza cooked a bit longer If a name on a pizza is "Warrior Pizza" it should have more meat than the one we got. My list of pros: The price-- they have GREAT lunch deals! The wait staff has always been friendly Fried green beans with wasabi dipping sauce-- yum! I've eaten her a few times. Will go back.

Vesta Pizzeria was a nice stop the other night. I had little expectations. There were plenty of seats available. The service was a tad slow. Mainly because our server was swamped with a larger table. The pizza was really good! We ordered the New York Special. It was a tiny bit undercooked, but mostly I really enjoyed it. I'm tyipically let down by so called "New York" style pizza. This was pretty good. The interior is nice and clean. I'd definitely go back.

Yeah author Nora Robert's son owns this nice modern with flat screen pizzeria OPEN & days in the historic town of Boonsboro 15 miles from Frederick up the mountains on Rte. 40 nice country ride .....so get your antiquing on and then grab some lunch here. Must be fresh cause took them 20 minutes to bake me two pepperoni and cheese slices and they were delic reminded me of home in NY, a little bit. I'll be back.....

Truly disappointing fare. Pizza is variably over- or under-cooked, sauce lacks flavor. Other menu items seem to be bulk items purchased from Sam's Club. Better pizza is available at the local grocery store (either from their pizza shop, or even in their frozen food aisle).
