I created a yelp account for this reason alone. NEVER order from here. Delivery took an hour and a half, salad had 2 inches of water at the bottom, fries weren't cooked--at all, and the "hot" wings had zero sauce on them and were barely cooked. Called the manager who promised they'd "get back to us", and haven't heard from them since. Their establishment is a joke.

2 stars is generous for this pizza joint, but I make it a habit to reserve that 1-star review for establishments that truly and completely deserve it. To sum it up, everything about this place is mediocre at best. The nicest thing I could say is that even at 10:00 pm on a Sunday evening, the guys at the front were still very friendly and cheery. But the food.....ugh, spare yourself the money. This is Bethesda; it's not like there aren't better places around. Even the big national chains frequently are better. We ordered two pizzas: one with sausage for my boyfriend, and one with several vegetables for me. Thank goodness we used a coupon, because ~$20 for just one of these pizzas would be kind of unbearable. The dough really did taste like cardboard; it had absolutely no flavor and snapped in half like a cracker, even though we didn't order thin crust (or so we thought). The sauce was forgettable, the cheese was fine but nothing special, and I didn't even notice half of the toppings on my pizza. If I hadn't seen the mushrooms there, you could have told me that there were none and I would have believed you. Maybe I've been spoiled by good pizza other places locally, but I found Manny & Olga's to be a huge disappointment. We definitely won't be coming back.

The staff was friendly and delivery was very fast, unfortunately the pizza was not hot at all. All in all it was very hood and the ingredients tasted fresh. I was happy they can get on the military installation with no directions or problems

Oh Manny and Olgas, I've been in your cold embrace way to many times late night. Which proves a couple of things. 1. Bethesda does not have a lot of late night options. 2. I don't make the soundest choices when I'm drunk. 3. I'm really lazy (It's really close to my neighborhood bar). I'd definitely order the pizza fresh instead of diving into the pre-made heater box pizza slices. I'd also recommend getting gyro on the pizza. My friend however, would not recommend getting the gyro on the pizza. She was actually pretty adamant about this when I last went with her. So, This led to a 10 minute debate inside the Manny and Olgas where the awesome cashier , Cluadio, graciously settled our argument with a formidable compromise. Did you know you can get a pizza with half one topping and half another! Who knew?! I hope my sarcasm is coming off of that. You can tell that Claudio is used to having the after-bar crowd all up in his small store. Thank God for patient people. They always have specials and coupons that they send out. They also have some flyers with coupons inside the store. Make sure to hit those up. The deals are usually very good. I'd eat it again... inebriated.

Meh. Ordered pickup online (very convenient online ordering system!). It automatically gave me $3 off because it was my first time ordering from here, which was nice. The order confirmation told me 20 minutes, so I headed over a few minutes before that- my apartment is right next door. The inside makes it clear that this place is for delivery or pickup only- no eating in. There are fridges with drinks, and that's about it. I ordered a pepperoni calzone and breadsticks without cheese. The calzone wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was a little spicy, which I liked, but other than that, it didn't have much flavor. I ate most of it, and I was full and satisfied, but I'm not in a hurry to eat another one anytime soon. The breadsticks were pretty bad, though. First, it was a huge order- like someone severely overcooked cooked a large square of pizza dough and then sliced it up into thin rectangles. They were hard (not in a crispy way), flavorless, and dry. Even dipping it into marinara sauce didn't help, and I threw out the whole thing. Maybe it would taste better with some cheese on it, but I doubt it. Overall, a pretty forgetful meal. I might be back for another try the next time I'm feeling lazy and craving pizza, but I'm not sure...

A lackluster place which I only frequent when the bars have closed down for the evening and the trek to 7 Eleven just isn't in the cards. Seriously, a frozen pizza would be a better choice but if you have no other options a late night slice of pepperoni will do the trick. Avoid the wings at all costs...

I guess they get one star for not giving us food poisoning. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new local pizza delivery place and selected Manny & Olga's from our handful of flyers mainly due to a promotion they were advertising. When I called to place the order, the woman said that the price had changed, and that it's now $2 more than the listed price. She insisted that "somewhere on the flyer" it said "price is subject to change." While this is true--the words are printed on the back and at the bottom of the menu--who prints promotional coupons on flyers only to inform people of the prices that they weren't going to honor? She was not only unapologetic but very pushy. I should have hung up right then, but alas, by that point the order had been created and our stomachs were growling, so we went through with the order placement. The pizza arrived 5-10 minutes past their 45-60 minute window, barely warm and barely edible. In the words of my boyfriend, it tasted like gas station pizza. Never again.

When I was in high school we used to order from here frequently and were generally pleased with the food. For this reason I have given it MANY chances after moving back to the area. Same results every time- HORRIBLE quality. The salads always have an inch or two of water and the food comes cold, soggy, undercooked and sometimes even inedible. I don't understand how this place stays in business. If quality and taste matter to you at all, avoid this "restaurant".

What a disappointing white pizza. Mozzarella. Tiny bits of feta. Garlic powder? The guy on the phone promised me it was fresh garlic. Clearly not true. Also arrived cold. Yuck. $22 for this???? Save your money. Go to the supermarket for better pizza. Also arrived cold.

Greeks make good pizza and this is no exception. It's quite tasty considering this is Maryland. The wings, however, are dreadful. My delivered wings looked boiled with the skin looking like it does before you even cook wings. They tasted the way they looked-boiled. Don't buy the wings. Here's another strange situation-check out the buffalo wing pricing- 7 for $7.99 or $1.14 per wing 14 for $11.99 or 86¢ per wing 21 - $16.99 or 81¢ each 28 - $24.99 or 89¢ each 50 - $49.99 or $1.00 each 100-$89.99 or 90¢ each Huh? Is this common core?

Manny and Olga's is the reason I will now Google "(restaurant's name) + food poisoning" before I go anywhere. My wife and I just moved in across the street from here, and we were excited about having a pizza place on the corner. No more. We simply split one order of pizza fries. My normal review would tell you it was subpar and we were just very hungry after a long day of work, otherwise we would have trashed it. But the after effects...we're not doing so well. In the pained words of my wife, whose face is currently resting on that dirtiest of seats in agony, "We will never, ever, ever again, in the entirety of our lives on this Earth, ever eat at Manny and Olga's again. Swear to me." I swear it, darling. Now get away from the toilet, it's my turn to die painfully.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I ate half a chicken tender. It was raw. I checked the rest and they were all raw. The health board should shut them down. I will be filing a complaint tomorrow.

Usually the pizzas were good but today the pizzas were dry. Looks like they were just reheated. They were worse than the ones we bought from Giant.

Ordered 2 hot subs at 5PM. Arrived at 7PM. Fries were cold, soggy and wet. The bread seemed like it was microwaved. Shame on me for ordering after a previous bad experience.

Ordered pizza, breadsticks, and wings. All bad! I'm surprised they are in business, plenty of other places to get pizza in Bethesda.

Pizza is crap! Your better off buying a frozen pizza at the grocery store. Gets two stars for the store being open till 3am. Working nights it's good to have a "plan B"

Pizza is decent and the delivery guys are always really speedy. My food got to me within a half hour.

I got a greek salad and a slice of their Pepperoni pizza. I understand that the slices are already made and are suppose to sit out in the warmer for a while... I've been to places where it's like this and the slices are usually still warm with the melting cheese. This one? Nope, kind of rubbery and not cool. I had to microwave it to sort of salvage it. The greek salad was missing a lot of ingredients and very generous with just the lettuce. Not the best experience but they are very close so I will try again. Hopefully they'll change my opinion next time.

If I could give zero I would, had it delivered to the Walter Reed hospital after my sister had nearly 24 hours of labor. They didn't even come prepared with paper plates... I ordered extra ranch sauce for the momma.... Didn't come..... I guess the 1 stat can be for the fact that my sister is inhaling it, but that doesn't speak to quality since she hasn't eaten in 28 hours.... Fail

Sometimes, I wonder if my employer cares about the well-being of its employees. Then, on the rare occasion that the company buys lunch, it's from Manny & Olga's Afterwards, I don't have to wonder anymore.

2.5 stars. Figured I'd give this place a try & see for myself if it's really that bad. Unfortunately, it is!! Purchased a living social deal ($5 for $10) and tried the white pizza. It was delivered quickly, was hot & fresh but so bland! The dough was also dry but the pizza wasn't greasy. Not likely to order from here again. They need to add some pizazz to their pizza.

    (3)
  • B H.

We weren't thrilled. Delivery was timely (~40 mins as promised) but the pizza was dry and thin crust, which may be more of a personal preference. The garlic cheese bread is a dry hoagie roll with a little cheese and garlic melted inside and doesn't come with marinara. Needless to say, M&O didn't make our short list for neighborhood pizza delivery.

I worked right across the street from Manny and Olgas for three years, and just recently moved to Chicago. I'm not going to try and tell you this is the greatest pizza you will ever eat: it isn't. But, if you want a good, cheap slice of pizza, Manny and Olgas has you covered. My favorite was to get a small pizza lunch special, which came with a small pizza and a bottle of soda for $7.95. I mostly ordered on the phone (occasionally ordering online, and ordering in person once in a blue moon) and I never had any issues. The staff was always very friendly. The pizza in my new home (Chicago) is amazing, but Manny and Olgas will always be dear to my heart for three years of cheap, greasy, tasty pizza.

  • Ruth C.

Wow, what the heck? Slightly greasier and overall not as good as the other Manny's up in Kensington. Olives were super briney and clearly hadn't been rinsed before topping the pizzas and going in the oven. Crust was dense and went stale crazy fast. A grim one and a half stars, the nicest thing I can say was that they were pretty evenly sliced. Corporate visit 2: less greasy this time, solid 1.5 stars.

I have ordered from here several times over the years, but lately it's just gotten horrible. Ordered a steak and cheese with Lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo, and got a plain one, wanted a greek pizza with extra meat and got a cold pizza with 5 pieces of meat on the whole thing, cold fries, cold onion rings. When I called to tell them the food was bad / wrong, they said they would bring out another sub to make up for the one that was wrong. 5 mins later they called me back and said they were too busy to bring me another sub but would give me 20% off my next order... for $40 I wanted the right food, I called them and told them I was bringing the nasty food back and wanted my money.... again the " we are busy " excuse... I had to go out of my way, to take delivery food back to the place to get my money back it was so bad..... I won't be going back unless they get new management or better employees that can make better food.

Incredibly rude phone service. Never again will order from here. As you'll see from my other reviews, I use Yelp to praise great places and rarely places like this. We received a coupon in the mail and called for delivery. I was told by a man -- maybe Manny -- that we were outside the delivery area. Fine. I was surprised and asked why we got a mailer and was promptly hung up on. When I called back I said "look, I'm not upset that you don't deliver to my area, but I was thinking about picking it up and you hung up on me." Why spend money mailing people outside the delivery area especially if your customer *service* people are *trained* to hang up on said people? Never again. There are too many mediocre pizza places around here to need Manny and Olga in my life.

Ever since my co-worker Anne and I started our once-a-week viewings of Lost four months ago, we've been plowing through delivery menus in Woodley Park and Bethesda, respectively. I was hosting this week, so I suggested we try something new (generally we go for Chinese or sushi). Manny and Olga's had a large one-topping pizza, wings and 2 liter bottle of soda deal for $17. The price was right, so we picked spinach as our topping (if it's green it's good for you, right?) and phoned it in. Twenty minutes later our food arrived. Starving from the stress of watching the island have its way with its hapless victims, I ripped into the spinach pie, and.... huh. If the pizza was a town, it would be called Snoreville. Snoozeton. Doze City. I have never had a more boring pizza in my life! The crust was an okay texture, but bland. The sauce was forgettable. The cheese was just along for the ride, and the spinach was meh. I was almost offended by the lack of flavor; I had to add garlic powder to make the slices palatable. If I have to add something to my pizza, it's a fail. I'm going back to Valentino's this weekend to remind myself what it's all about (yes, I will be doing the hokey pokey as I stuff my face with a massive slice of buffalo chicken).

Been to many M&O this one takes the cake as being the sloppiest. I ordered a 1 topping pizza and could literally count the amount of toppings on the pie and it didn't even reach double digits, this topping was broccoli mind you so it's not like they are placing a high priced item on my pizza, no open to display and I questioned the lack thereof by visibility. Taste was bland poorly sauced and rubbery cheese. Bot going back

Had the pasta today and it was over cooked and soggy. The sausage on the dish was also over cooked so it was like eating a dry coal. Horrible place I won't go back again for sure.

I don't know what the hype about this place is. I've given it two attempts when my office decides to order from here. And plain AWFUL. The first time, I ordered a Gyro which I thought was incredibly bland and over salted. Mind you, I understand the standard Gyro contains a lot of Salt, but this was ALL Salt. The sauce was flavorless and you could tell this was NOT made by a Greek! The second time, I ordered a Customized Veggie Calzone. The sauce tasted like Prego jar sauce, they were not generous with the cheese and toppings - at all. And the worst part, is all of it was so bland and flavorless. To top it off, I requested a White style Calzone with Mushrooms, Spinach, Green Peppers, Onions, Garlic, Extra Cheese and Black Olives. Why did I get a Calzone with RED sauce, too much Garlic, pieces of raw whole Onion, 2 Mushrooms if that, tons of Green Peppers and a sprinkle of Cheese? My office mates really love the Calzones here, but I couldn't agree. I have had much better Calzones, and this probably has ruined my for some time. I probably won't be craving a Calzone anytime soon. *sad face*

We tried Manny and Olga's after being disappointed by another local pizza delivery joint. I'm surprised by all the low reviews. We ordered a pizza for the kids which they really enjoyed, a sub and fries for me that I thought was actually pretty good, even if they did seem to put the meat on the sandwich "backwards", and my wife ordered a salad that was very fresh. Delivery was quick, prices were decent.

One of the first places that I ate at after moving out to Bethesda this summer. Its in a small spot right off Woodmont Ave, and in a perfect place to pick up a slice on the run to a bar and such. I didn't think it was that bad, as I am not a pizza expert...so I am giving it 3 stars as they got me a decent tasting pizza slice in excellent time.

This is very good pizza. In our experience it travels better than many of the pizzas in the area. We've tried both the large and small chains and independent pizza places. This is our favorite when the pizza is to be delivered. Service is unusually polite and respectful. Not only is the food good, they remember you and appreciate your business. The buffalo wings are also better than most. UPDATE 10/2013 We recently tried their Indian food. It was excellent and the price was outstanding!

quite possibly the worst pizza i've ever had. it's like bland cardboard. there's really nothing good about it. don't eat it.

After a few $1 Miller lites at union Jacks i went to the beer store and then I saw Manny and Olga's advertising pizza by the slice. I thought i would check it out. So late night (9PM) I went and grabbed one slice of cheese pizza ($2+) and it was cold and extra chewy. Sorry Manny but you lost my late night pizza buying in Bethesda. It's Vace's 'till I die.

I just had a baby, so we've been depending on takeout for the past few weeks. Manny & Olga's is in spitting distance of our apartment, and I figured it was worth a shot. We ordered the Meat Lover's pizza, which includes gyro meat. The pizza was ready for pickup quickly, and they said "meat lovers" when they handed us the pizza, but when we got home and opened the box, we discovered that we'd received a chicken pizza with fresh tomato slices instead. Not a huge deal, but not a great sign, either. We decided to just eat the chicken pizza rather than deal with returning it. As for the chicken pizza, I'd have to say that it was only mediocre. The sauce was simply too sweet for our taste - it seemed to be nothing more than tomato puree from a can. The crust was crispy, buttery, and fairly thin. I'd characterize it as the white bread of pizza crusts. Perhaps this pizza would be best appreciated by a child or someone with an unadventurous palette. However, going forward, we'll order our pizza elsewhere. There are just too many pizza places in Bethesda to settle for mediocrity.

Went here for lunch today. This place wasn't bad but not great either. Got a chicken philly sub, a ton of fries and a drink for 6.99, can't really beat that. The sub itself wasn't bad, lots of chicken in it. I didn't really like the bread and the fries seemed kind of stale. Haven't had their pizza. I'll come back to try the chicken souvlaki. There isn't any place to sit inside so be forewarned about that. You can do a lot worse than here.

Due to my job, I get a 30% discount, so I use Manny and Olgas quite frequently. The chicken parm with spaghetti is good. I also love the mozarella sticks. The gyros are of low quality, but that's to be expected from an italian spot. Their hot wings are atrocious and I'm surprised it's even on the menu. It isn't a surprise that you can get 14 for only $9.99 I believe it is. The place is very small, you can hardly turn around. I'd recommend it for delivery.

    (4)
  • Aaron S.

It really depends (with most places) on what you get. Their pizza honestly doesn't look appetizing, but their subs make a pretty good midnight snack. Highly recommend their veal or chicken parm. Really tender and saucy! The staff isnt' overly friendly but they aren't off putting either. Its a cute little place that you should stop by if you have late night munchies!

  • Tara J.

Rude staff, wrong order! I ordered a large hand-tossed pizza. When I went to pick it up, they handed me what looked like a medium thin crust pizza. I told them it was the wrong order, and the guy behind the counter rudely disagreed with me, was dismissive, and would not give me a new pizza. I think they were too lazy to make a new one and thought I wouldn't know better. Never going there again.

I live close by so I inevitably get sucked into M&O's on occasion when I'm short on time or just too lazy to go one more block to Sala Thai. Their pizza crust is basically a mix between cardboard and old carpet - very tough, very chewy, and not the least bit flavorful. The sauce? Yeah, about the same: crap. One night I decided to give the chicken cheesesteak a chance since the pizza had clearly not won me over after several attempts. The sub could not possibly have been drier. The bread tasked like it was about 3 weeks old and had been run over by one of their delivery drivers. The chicken? Believe it or not it was even worse. The texture was somewhere between beef jerky and boot leather, and drier than the bread. I needed a gallon of water and about that much ketchup just to get it down. Do yourself a favor - call the chains, or go around the corner to Sala Thai or Victors.

"It's not delivery, it's .... Dang, it IS delivery!" I can be a pizza snob at times, searching for the most authentic of ingredients with fresh basil, peppercorn and the like; and, at others, I can go get a greasy slice of pie at the local spot which tastes like a gooey, melted salt concoction on flour dough. HOWEVER, this review is for Manny & Olga's - which falls into another category altogether. The tomato sauce is superb - you actually relish the fact that the sauce is a bit tart, like it would be at home. If you like a thinner crust, then you will be pleasantly surprised. The cheese is hot, hot, hot! These four stars are duly appointed because this is a delivery pizza place that understands that the simplicity of ingredients provides for an extraordinary taste.

I saw the words GYRO on the outside and had to come in and get one. Gets me everytime! It's like a whale call...but that would only make sense if I were a whale (which I will be if I keep eating gyros). There's no sit down area to eat, but there is a stool at the counter. Yeah, just one, for a certain somebody to sit and order their food to go and wait. We noticed their awesome sales gimmick on their menu. It said, "Order 1,000 XL pizzas and get 1,000 L pizzas for free - WE DARE YOU!!" We did the math on this one and discovered that you would pay about $27,000 for 1,000 XL pizzas, but that you would get about $18,000 in free pizza. If only there were a freezer big enough to store a lifetime of pizzas...not a bad deal. I guess one could take out a car loan and then buy pizza with it. Maybe this is a great place to do your catering if you're going to have 3,000 or so people at your wedding. So, as I mentioned, I got the gyro. It was decent, but I won't be getting another one from here. HUGE chunks of feta cheese and overpowering onions kind of detracted from the whole thing. Hubbs got a cheeseburger sub thingy and ate it without mentioning much about it either way, so I take that as "good enough". I'd sure stop by here again and grab a hot slice of pizza to go.

  • Kelly B.

Their Greek salad was good. The large would definitely feed a few people. As for the pizza, it was pretty bland. Dough was flavorless and too soft. Would love to find a pizza place in the area that uses a real pizza oven (vs. a conveyor belt) and that's open on Sundays.
