I come here mostly to get grade A frozen tuna to make sushi, but I have also had their crabs, shrimp, and mussels. The food is great and fresh. I don't like old bay seasoning on my seafood so I ask them to leave it off. They did tend to pour it on the one time I did have the seasoning on which just overwhelmed the flavor of the food. I've had the crab chowder and it was great. Anyways a great place to pick up food to eat at home~

Excellent causal "crab shack" place. Great freshly steamed crabs at very fair prices. Call ahead at least 30-45 minutes in the evening. Mostly a "take out" place but they have a couple picnic tables if you want to grub down there.

I like this place because it has a good vibe and good food. Shrimp salad on brioche is great, they use whole shrimp which is awesome, and tastes very fresh. Had at least 10 on my sandwich.. Would try their soups next time, they looked good. Only complaint is that my sandwich was very salty, but old bay is just salty in its own right.

Wow, I had no idea this place was here. My husband mentioned it, I looked it up and 2 hours later we had crabs! Lots of crabs!! They were nice and spicy and hot! We will order from here again.

A great place to try steamed and seasoned Maryland blue crab, or buy live and cook on your own. I've been here multiple times with much satisfaction. I call in around lunchtime of the day I want the crabs. If you want them steamed pickup is on the hour. I really appreciate that they will steam and season it for the same price as the live ones. Saves you time and mess. I've done both the steamed and live crabs and have been satisfied with both! Staff is friendly and helpful, and their shop has items you may need for preparing your meal as well as other seafood options (which I haven't tried).

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. It took a loooooooong time to get our food. I'm a patient person but this was nuts! Like 45 mins after ordering & we only got simple crab cake sandwiches & cups of soup. There seemed to be a thousand folks picking up crabs. You need to def call & order before you show up. Also don't plan on eating there which is a bummer if ur coming from far away but they only have 3 benches or so & it gets crowded. Besides the ambience is not really there :) Anyways, all is forgotten though because seriously that soup was freaking UNREAL. you might be committing a crime if you don't order it. That crab cake was also mighty memorable. Def in my top 3 best crab cakes in B'more. Prices were reasonable & service was efficient, but not friendly really. They're busy. I like this place but I live far away. If it was closer to home, we'd be ordering & picking up every weekend.

I love the prices and specials that Richard's offers. That is what makes us continue coming back. However, their seasoning is way too spicy/hot. It is very overwhelming. I often find myself rinsing them off (which I am very ashamed of!). My fiancÃ© also thinks it is too spicy and he loves spicy foods. The $1.25 crab deal on Wednesdays is great..you can't beat $30 for 2 dozen!

Gave it one less star rating because I have only had their steamed crabs... and I love them! I'm sorry I hadn't found them sooner. I was going to another place for 2 years and paying twice as much. This is our new go-to crab shack for steamed MD bluecrabs to go whenever we have visitors from out of state. Standing by for the the next shad roe season! I saw the sign posted but didn't have a chance to go back before they went out of season.

We ordered a few (medium-sized) dozen over the 4th holiday. While the crabs themselves could have been meatier (heavier), and who has control over that, the Old Bay spicy was as good as it gets! Wonderful and certainly a flash back to the good ole days!

This place is awesome. Always great blue crabs whenever I have visited. 1 star b/c she was allergic to seafood, I don't think that's a fair review now is it?? 5 stars all the way for this place. Def. a great find!

Visited this Saturday and experienced a 25 minute wait for a dozen crabs (#1's). The price was higher than I am used to for this size crab, but wanted crab for supper and they were on the way home. The staff were attentive and business was brisk. I had the wait time to kill because they have a lot of call-in take out orders. If you want to dive in and get out fast, I encourage you to call ahead. The crabs were tasty. However, they are dusted with a hot spicy crab seasoning which has a sort of smokey taste and a medium burn until you get used to it. For the area, they got it going one, but definately call ahead - still too pricey though - given their location

Richard's is the BEST place to grab seafood in the Harford County area. It can be pricey, but you get what you pay for and that is GOOD seafood all year around. Richard's usually has specials from Tuesday tthru Thursday on crab and shrimp.
