I have had sushi from here twice and both times I thought it wasn't that great. They only give you five specialty rolls and you can tell some of the fish is not the freshest. It is not the worst I have ever had but I have had a lot better.

I think the reviews are pretty unforgiving here. Sometimes a girl just wants some plain old vegetable fried rice, and this place delivers. I haven't been adventurous, but I have gotten take-out a few times, and been happy. It may not be gourmet, but when the craving hits, this place does the job.

So I got a menu for this place in the mail. I was really excited they delivered sushi! So one Friday night I didn't feel like cooking, so I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did! My order did take about an hour to be delivered, on a Friday night that's not bad. The sushi was pretty good! I've had better, and I've had MUCH worse. This was good. The pork lo mein is really really good. My other favorite delivery Chinese restaurant is very greasy. This place was NOT! It's great. The hot and sour soup isn't better than my other favorite place, but still very good and worth trying. Overall, yes I would recommend you try this place. I think they have been making an attempt to be better, and they are.

I've had the chinese side of the menu before and that was solid - not phenomenal but also not very pricey - just very solid. As far as the "sushi side", I would strongly encourage looking elsewhere. To me, this was the most mediocre grade sushi that I've had to date which just didn't taste very great - not unbearable, but not very enjoyable.

I live less than .2 miles away, and the delivery took over an hour. Sushi was not great... about as good or maybe even slightly worse as the Harris Teeter sushi I used to buy in grad school. Would not recommend.

Food was cold and took over an hour and all I ordered was a shrimp tempura roll and crab meat Rangoon. And with tip was $18. What a rip off. Might have been good if it wasn't cold by the time it reached me.

Oh my. What a crappy experience. Tried ordering using Foodler. Waited an hour for delivery. No call to me. I called them. Lady answered. Barely could speak English. Could not accurately tell me if they had even started to cook my order, or, IF it was in route for delivery. Very disappointed. Do not use Foodler OR Wok and Roll of Federal Hill. It is now 1 hour and 30 minutes since I placed the order.

Coming from NY, there is no way I thought Chinese would be comparable here in Bmore, but looking at it objectively, I can't complain at all. Everything tasted fresh, and they delivered on time at a more than reasonable price..However, if you're a health nut, I'd order from elsewhere... Spicy Wontons - fried in a heavy sweet and spicy sauce. Roast Pork Lo Mein - feel like you can't really mess this up. Kung Pao Chicken - by far the healthiest item ordered, and the freshest tasting. With the exception of the Spicy Wontons, I had to go generic with the other plates.. Figured I'd order from any place again if the initial experience wasn't a bad one.. so definitely worth trying again...perhaps be more adventurous as well

We order on Foodler once a week, because for the price the sushi is good and the portions are satisfactory. When it comes to service/customer service, and lenght of delivery, I have to agree with anybody else, it's a disaster. People at the phone forget how speak english only when you are complaining. Food needs to be ordered 2 hours (!) in advance in the weekends, and a few times the orderd was messed up. Overall, you get what you pay for..

Horrible customer service and not great food. We love to order online but the restaurant never looks at any notes you include in your online order. Several times it has taken FOREVER to get our food. Plus, this last time they got every part of our order wrong! And, when I called the restaurant, they first blamed me for the errors. I had to ask them to check the online order again (good thing I ordered online to prove what I had ordered). Then, the replacement food was not fully correct either. The chicken wings taste like Chinese food, not chicken wings, and have way too much grease. The soup is often cold by the time it arrives. And there is nothing special about their food that makes it worth putting up with any of the rest. FIND ANOTHER PLACE!

Don't expect the best Chinese food ever, BUT for the price/portion/taste this place is solid (3 large dishes, plus rice $23). We ordered the garlic chicken, veggie low mein and bean curd and all of the dishes were pretty good. The garlic chicken was the best. Nice strong garlic flavor; all the veggies in the other dishes were prepared well and were fresh. Low mein was good not great. Overall, WAY better then Kirby's Szechuan---which somehow people in Balti love but that is not saying much! Ambiance not great--typical fast food Chinese restaurant feel; food was prepared in less than 10 minutes. We will definitely come again for pick-up when we are craving a low-price, pretty tasty meal.

This place only gets one star from me, because the food is very good. However the fresh, delicious sushi is completely overshadowed by terrible service. I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and ordered some lunch at around 2 p.m. I would like to say that the only reason I ordered from an unfamiliar sushi place is because their ad and menu is in the Hilton booklet. The person who answered the phone asked where I was. I said "The Hilton Garden Inn in Harbor East". He asked for the address. I couldn't locate it, so I said "I don't know it offhand, but it's the Hilton Garden Inn in Harbor East" to which he got an attitude and replied "There are a lot of hotels in Harbor East, how will I know which one it is?" I honestly thought he was joking at first. I said "IT'S THE ONE THAT SAYS HILTON GARDEN INN!" He just kept repeating that he wouldn't know which hotel it is, so I finally just went online and looked up the address myself and gave it to him. He said it would be about 45 minutes. Over an hour later, the delivery guy gets there. I give him the money and send him on his way, only to open my food and find out that it's not what I ordered. I called back and the same guy who took my order told me that the chef accidentally made a sashimi dinner instead of a sushi dinner. NO APOLOGY. So I told him I'd like for someone to bring me the food that I ordered. The guy said it'd be another 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, the food finally gets there...And the delivery guy has the nerve to not only NOT apologize, but ask me for the OTHER order back!!!!! I said "I ate it" and slammed the door. He's lucky I'd already tipped him for the FIRST order. I am a Baltimore native and a huge sushi fan...And it'd never heard of this place until last weekend. No wonder. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of excellent sushi places that also have amazing service. If it's delivery you want, try Asian Harbor.

I'm not gonna lie here guys, you know what to expect from a place like Wok & Roll. I'll take the "I'm not sure if this is actually real meat" with a side of delicious MSG. But, I can't help loving this place for three reasons: 1) It's close to my house. 2) They are super fast. 3) Spicy Wontons. Don't question the Spicy Wontons - just get them. And, devour them. Just got some sushi rolls from here last night and they were exactly what I ordered and wanted. My advice to you is - don't expect five star food quality but don't completely ignore it either.

Just ordered delivery from Wok & Roll, and would never do it again. Every single item was terrible. Lowest possible quality food, poor preparation, 20 minutes late, and the driver asked me to come outside to get the food. Never again.

Some of the worst sushi I've ever ordered! I ordered take out from them just to try out a new place and ended up throwing most of it away. Bland, no flavor, and tasteless wasabi. No one deserves bad sushi ...

Overall the food was decent, but nothing special. The crab rangoon, however, was AWFUL. I rarely review restaurants but it was bad enough that I felt compelled to write.

We didn't want to go out and found this place on foodler.com and ordered online. Delivery was one time and came with complimentary crab rangoons, which were average (but free tastes awesome!). The spicy lobster roll was ok, I think the sesame seeds overwhelmed it. The rock n roll was not so much with tempura flake as I would have liked, but good fish. His came with miso soup, which I ate, was tasty with the right amount of tofu and seaweed. He ordered the sushi 7 with tuna roll and the philadelphia roll. The tuna roll was as expected. The sushi was good, including the 2 pieces we were not sure what they were. The philly roll was made with smoked salmon, which he was not excited about. I hate raw salmon and tried it, and it was good, but I'm sure he won't order it again. Maybe it's a regional thing, but we are use to raw. We will order again!

I only recommend this place if you are looking for cheap, non-specialized Chinese food. So far I've only tried the: steamed dumplings, which were good and fairly large, and tuna roll, not recommended from delivery. It is definitely nothing special, but decent for those wanting something quick and satisfying.

Worst place ever. I ordered delivery, and they decided my house was too far away, but did not tell me that. So they sat on my order for over two and a half hours. I called twice, and they said it was on its way. When it finally came, the hot food was cold, and the sushi was warm. I called and asked for a credit on the sushi, which was inedible. They said they would give me a discount on my next order, but I insisted on a credit, given the fact that I will never order from them again. At that point in time, they claimed they did not understand English. seriously?!? Don't even bother. Ever!

Put in an order and it took 2 hours for them to process it and the food still never came. Then they lied and said the food was on the way when it wasn't. Then it took 15 minutes to speak to a manager. They were very rude on the phone and hung up on us. Don't ever order from here.

Don't Bother! They do not know how to cook noodles! We received out delivery and the "rice Noodles" were rice mush and inedible... We ended up throwing 90% of the dish away... The Sushi rolls were passable, but overpriced

Ordered using a credit card on foodler; i was surprised they have a mandatory 15% tip for delivery. It's a reasonable amount--and having friends in highschool/college who were waitresses/busboys--I've had tipping guilted into me so hard that I'm usually a 20%er anyways. What wasn't reasonable was the delivery service. I live in an apt and they called to tell me to meet them out in the street. If you're going to enforce a mandatory tip for delivery service at least do a proper delivery. I paid for delivery to my apartment, not to meet you halfway. Next time (if i'm dumb enough to get delivery again) I'm paying with cash. If they try that crap again no tip. Even papa johns delivers to my door. And the third time... well no third time because I would probably get some special sauce with my food. Cream of Sum Yung Gai (ancient chinese recipe) is not something i am particularly fond of. Since this is a restaurant review I suppose I should say something about the food. I ordered sushi and it was acceptable to above average. 3-4 star for the area, 2 star in any other city. Very reasonable price wise. tldr: Good for takeout if you live in the area. Wouldn't bother with delivery.

I have had better asian food before , yes, but I cannot deny that I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and my chinese food/sushi craving was satisfied. Price is good and you get what you pay for. I will most likely be back for more.

Everything you need for a cheap, quick Chinese joint in south Baltimore. The actual location isn't too inviting for sitting down and eating your meal, so we prefer to either get take-out or delivery. But the food is what you'd expect it to be. Decent prices and a standard Chinese and Japanese menu. We didn't like the pork dish we got once, but really, who orders pork from a Chinese restaurant?

cheap and quick chinese and sushi. call up for delivery or pick it up on the way home from work. you're hard pressed to beat the sushi at the price. the amount of food you can get from this place for twenty bucks is daunting. save some lo mein for tomorrow, because you know the leftovers are always better. their recent delivery boy must've worked nascar or bank heists before this gig because your food gets to you confusingly fast. the kung pow shrimp, like a lot of their dishes, can be heavy on the oil, but let be honest; if you were worried about the fat content you'd be eating a salad in public instead of a general tso's alone while watching law & order.

There aren't any decent Chinese take out places in Baltimore. Wok & Roll is thusfar the only acceptable one I've experienced. It's your typical Chinese carryout place with cheap, large portions of MSG-filled goodness, and your usual Americanized suspects: General Tso's, orange chicken, egg foo young. I wouldn't recommend the hu-fen noodles; they were kind of dry. My friends and I ordered enough food to feed 8-10 people for about $60, including the $1 delivery fee and tip. A definite go-to place when you're craving cheap greasy Chinese take out.

There are a lot of sushi places in Baltimore and Wok & Roll is slightly above average. Of course they deliver and that is a huge plus for when you just don't feel like leaving the house/office. The fish tastes fresh and they have a quite a few specialty rolls for those who want them. I personally reccomend the soft shell crab roll. They also have chinese food for those who don't eat sushi and it is pretty standard for a chinese take-out place. If you order just sushi this place is more expensive than other places, but that's the price of convience. Usually a sushi meal for 2 will cost about $40. That's not terribly expensive but you can do better. If you are stranded indoors and craving sushi/chinese food then give Wok & Roll a try. If you want a nice night out for inexpensive sushi then look elsewhere.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
