View was phenomenal. Crab soup (served in a bread bowl) was very very good. Dessert was very good. Nice tea selection. Other than that, stay clear of this place. The food was largely unacceptable and should not have left the kitchen. Sweet potato gratin was under cooked and unseasoned. Spaghetti squash was RIDICULOUSLY under cooked, and was actually hard and crunchy (and also unseasoned). The steaks were overcooked. Worst of all, the side of spinach legitimately tasted like poison. NO ONE in the kitchen tasted this before it went out. Either the spinach was rancid, or the oil they used to cook it was rancid, or something not meant to be edible fell into the mix, but it was legitimately horrible horrible horrible. Should not have left the kitchen at all. Service was mixed. Nice waitress, did she did not even attempt to refill any water cups at the table even once. Would not return here, except maybe for soup (and the view!)

Not very impressed. We began with a half dozen oysters, two of which we left untouched because there was still bits of sand and shell on the meat. The others we ate mostly because we love oysters and paid for these...they were fine, not great, but cleanliness here is the biggest concern. I enjoyed my lamb, but it didn't fill me up as a $32 dish should. This is coming from someone who usually takes home leftovers. The boy's scallops, which I tasted, were pretty tasty -- but apparently every few bites were also sandy! Service was friendly but a little frazzled. A different person had filled up out water glasses, and our waitress, to my confusion, asked if those glasses of water were ours. To her credit, she did check in with us on how each dish was, but the question just made me wonder what the alternative would be. If you're staying at the hotel and looking for convenient dining options, I recommend getting room service instead. It's actually quite decent; I enjoyed the half chicken enough to order it twice on separate visits.

Based on a friend's praise of his lunch here and our group being tired from traveling all day, we chose to dine in our hotel tonight at Watertable. We had a lovely view of the Inner Harbor at sunset and we were delighted to be in for (what we thought was) a treat for dinner. Unfortunately, it was less than a stellar experience. I must say the creamy crab chowder was delicious. It was appropriately creamy and spicy, offset by big chunks of sweet blue crab meat. Impressed by our delicious beginning, our group selected its main courses. Crab cakes, swordfish, seafood linquine, rock fish and skirt steak were among the entrees ordered by our group. Both diners choosing the crabcakes made grumpy-cat faces after the first bite. It was evident that the crabcakes were not fresh and more worrisome, perhaps starting to be off. Those were sent promptly back to the kitchen. Rubbery and tasteless were the words the diner used to describe the beautifully monstrous scallops, after gagging on the unpalatable amount of garlic present in the dish. One order of skirt steak was horrible burned, and an order of roast chicken was pure pink when cut open. While appropriate credits were given on the checks, one diner was billed $21 for one glass of wine. When the server was queried, the response was that the wine noted on the check was not sold by the glass! Hmmm. Needless to say it was not an impressive showing for this establishment and a big disappointment to all of us hoping for a nice meal to end a long day of travel. We'll do better tomorrow night and read up on the best choice for scenic and tasty nourishment!

Located in the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, on the 5th floor, this place has beautiful views of the harbor, as previously mentioned. We didn't get a table by the door, since it was a Friday night and there was a large group by the window, but we did a large and comfortable booth that backed up to the bar. The menu wasn't that extensive, but it did have a couple choices featuring the crab, so it met our criteria for the evening. After finding out from the waiter that the crab salad was actually mayonnaise based crab salad on top of mixed greens, I opted for the mussels and the crab cake appetizer. The mussels were delicious - creamy broth with herbs and lots of flavor. The crab cake was good, but seemed small and unimpressive for the price. The pieces of crab in the cake were small and there seemed to be more filler that I would have expected for this upscale place. The most impressive part - the miniature "shovel" (aka spoon) that my colleague got to eat her crab chowder in a bread bowl (see the picture). While at first it seemed ridiculous, the shovel-shaped spoon was actually perfect for piercing the bread bowl and scooping the chowder.

Food was DELISH!!!! everything I tried was great! A bit expensive but well worth it! The view of the harbor was nice also :)

Crab cake sliders are so delish. We tried them late night, so I came back to try them without wine and they were just as good!! Great view of the harbor, try the crab sliders!!

Great place to stop in and get a drink. Allison was our bartender, she was super friendly and made very good drinks. The food was also really good and came out rather quickly. Overall a good experience.

Great views and upscale but comfortable atmosphere. The cocktails and wine list were excellent although to be honest for the cost, the food was not particularly unique or adventurous. I could have been at any "upscale" seafood restaurant - there just wasn't enough uniqueness in terms of food or setting that would make me go back.

Worth the visit. Outstanding views of the Baltimore Inner Harbor and very, very good food. Service was good and friendly. The only item I didn't like is the ambiance. It looks like a ballroom, or just another part of the Renaissance Hotel that was made into an ad-hoc restaurant. With some decorations, foliage, dividers, etc., it could be a really romantic place instead of a warehouse lookalike. My BF and I went there at 7:30 PM and had reservations. We were immediately seated and attended by a nice waitress who exuded friendliness. After some champagne, we shared the crab-cake appetizer, outstanding! Then it was time for the salad, a wonderful fresh house salad with feta cheese. We both had the rockfish, delicately flavored and cooked just right. We washed it down with a bottle of Pinot Noir. Overall an excellent place for dinner. My only constructive critic is the decor. Needs a little TLC to make it different from a hotel ballroom.

Great view, and a great place to have a cocktail and some appetizers. I wasn't tempted by the dinner menu, though.

Crab cakes were wonderful! Steak overcooked and some food wasn't served hot. Unimpressed with service, the staff seemed stressed and irritated with customer requests and each other. Did not clear used dishes off table... Poor communication within the staff. Definitely not impressed when the bill came. This place needs to get it together AND drastically lower their prices to match the quality (or lack thereof) of what they are presenting to the public. On a good note--the bartender, Michelle--was EXCELLENT and attentive. And that delicious orange-berry vodka she served on the rocks? WONDERFUL, best part of the night (New Years) minus the "free" champagne and fireworks. Managers--I would do some serious training with your wait staff!!

the staff is very attentive but hey theres not that many people here on weeknights so it is what it is the food sounds great on paper but it is just ok and a little pricey too. i got tricked into ordering one of the specials that had steak and it wasnt that great IMO if you want a romantic dinner and a place with a nice view and so so food this is the place to be. this is on the 5th floor of the Renaissance hotel and you over look the inner harbor ordered 2 soups and 2 entrees bill came out to 100 and change.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning while staying at this hotel. Very prompt service which is nice when you need a cup of coffee right away! Small children were free at the breakfast buffet, also nice. Husband and I both got the crab eggs benedict. It came out a little cold but the server was very helpful and got it heated up for us. Once it was hot, it was good, but I would do the buffet next time and get a custom omelette made. Lots of fresh fruit as a side, and it was just-right-ripe and delicious. Everything was clean and everyone was great and we would eat breakfast there again!

The view from this place is remarkable. The food is definitely above average for a hotel. Service was excellent - our server was attentive and gave excellent recommendations. Nice atmosphere, and a great bar on the other side of the restaurant.

Came here last week for dinner. Decor is clean and reasonably modern. The dining room feels cavernous, perhaps due to the big windows displaying the city/harbor. The view is very nice. Waiter was attentive and down-to-earth. Asked for a beer list, he said "well, what do you want?" I don't like that. I want a list, either written, typed, or recited. You see, if there's not a particular beer of fancy that I see, I may want to go wild and crazy and maybe try a NEW one. Anyway, he rattled off his extensive list. Nothing of interest. Advice: have a printed list somewhere so that I don't have to bug you for a beer list. Ordered a bunch of appetizers. Grilled cheese was barely cheesy and toast was rock hard. Oysters and mussels good. Had something else too, can't remember. Had truffled ravioli for entree. Not bad but truffle essence barely noticeable. The only really offensive part was the parking. Needed to pay $10 for garage parking (this was a special event rate... does that mean it's cheaper or more expensive during regular times?) Maybe I'll come back, but other options are aplenty.

The views of the harbor were beautiful. The restaurant had beautiful decor and great service. I ate here with a co-worker my first night in Baltimore. After the long flight from California, we were hungry for some seafood. The service was friendly and the menu had a decent selection. We ordered the calamari appetizer that was fantastic. Great presentation, lots of flavor. For the entree, we had the crab cakes. I was expecting more. It wasn't as meaty as other places I'd been, and it was on the bland side. The seafood seasoning fixed that though. The sides that came with the dish weren't as satisfactory, but the main dish was filling enough. We had drinks at their bar the next evening. The bartendars were so so. One was very friendly, the others were edgy and abrupt. But they're generous with the alcohol and the ambience was nice. Since it's a hotel, the crowd was pretty mixed, but friendly in general.

With beautiful views of the harbor, great food and wine, Watertable makes our anniversary dinner so romantic. We had a crab dip, a halibut and a rockfish. All are perfectly seasoned especially the halibut. Not too greasy, not too salty. We had a bottle of Picket Fence '06, a Chardonnay. The price (I guess it's $32 or $34) was reasonable since I can find it around $20 in the Internet.

Best Sunday Brunch in the city. we got a harbor view and great service. Food was very nice with an omelette and waffel bar, fresh cut fruit, eggs, meats everything you wanted nice and fresh. To top it off, a fresh squeezed OJ and Strawberry shooter for 18 bucks. Make sure to try an crab omellette, cant wait to go again.

I found this restaurant on Yelp, read the reviews, and was not disappointed. I went for lunch around 12:45 and there was only one other table of diners. I ordered their very tasty signature salad but it was the fish and chips that blew me away. The four large pieces of fish were incredibly hot (temperature, not spicy) and fresh, with a remoulade sauce that was to die for. The french fries tasted like actual potatoes, hot and crispy. And the hostess sat me at a window table to enjoy a most marvelous view. I can't wait to go back with my boyfriend for a romantic dinner in the very near future.

So this is located inside the Renaissance hotel. Spent a few nights at the hotel so decided to do brunch here. The place is nice and has a huge bar ;). The views from here of the harbor are beautiful. The place is well decorated with art all over the walls. Definitely enjoyed the decor in the hotel and here. So on to breakfast . Juices, coffee, water, soda on refills. The coffee here was great. The selection here was pretty good. They even have a cook there for omelets. The selection included fruit smoothies, mango/pineapple (wish it was just mango with out the pinapples)smoothies, eggs, different types of cheeses, waffles made on the spot, fruits, nuts, bacon, turkey bacon(wish more places had this), bread, etc etc all of it tasted fresh not old like most buffets. Good quality for 20 dollars sounds like a steal to me. The service was great, waiter was very attentive and very accomadating to our requests and questions. Definitely will go back whenever I'm in town.

Menu is limited, a little pricey but worth every penny. Large portion sizes, crab chowder to die for, burger is excellent, crab cakes amazing, even childrens menu is delicious. Service is top notch, amazing wine and beer selection. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Baltimore inner harbor to dine here at least once.

Good service, the bar seemed to be pretty hopping late at night regardless of the day if the week. Full bar with good wine and beer selection. They keep the water coming which I always appreciate.

I came here after lunch hours so this is a review for the lounge/light fare. My parents and I were seated by the window for a lovely view of Inner Harbor. We ordered the calamari, mussels, clam chowder, crab sliders, beef sliders, and crab cake BLT. The mussels were the best-received, but my dad got two rotten pieces. There was also a very strong odor, perhaps from the rotten mussels. The clam chowder wasn't terrible, but too salty. We had to eat the chowder with generous chunks of bread. The calamari, sliders, and BLT were all very generic and not impressive. Service was great, but I expected no less since we were the only customers at the time. Watertable may flaunt a nice view, but the food doesn't make it worth it.

Had the Buffet Breakfast for $19 per person. Kids are 1/2 price and free if less 6 yrs old. Standard continental fare. Omelette station was good although it took awhile. Belgian waffles, which was made on the spot, was chewy in texture. Sausage links were hard. Syrup, butter, whip cream, strawberry compote was presented in bulk...in open bowls rather than single servings in unit packages. Service was ok as you'd expect during buffet style breakfast.

This is a review of the bar. We went here for some latish drinks after going out in the Federal Hill area. Not the best. We spent over $30 for 3 drinks!! The hubby got a bloody mary that was spicy and decent, and I got a cocktail that was supposed to be a twist on a classic cosmopolitan. I forgot the fruit it was supposed to taste like - it just tasted like a normal cosmopolitan to me. It was OK. Then we split a beer so we could stay a little longer to watch the end of Olympic coverage. All was fine but it was waaay too expensive for what it was. I'm also not too big a fan of the atmosphere - it was darkish in there and the space was very large and it didn't have much personality or ambiance. It looked like a normal, ugly-carpeted space for conventions to be held that wasn't being used so they put a restaurant in there. The bar was also strangely sparse - big empty gaps where the bottles were supposed to be lined! It was just kind of blah. Between the atmosphere and the prices I definitely wouldn't go here again.

Located in the Renaissance Hotel in the Inner Harbor, Watertable offers spectacular views of the waterfront within walking distance of the National Aquarium and several other hotels. Our party of 7 stopped in for a late-ish dinner and were able to be seated right away since the restaurant was nearly empty. Our waitress was quick to accommodate us when we wanted to switch tables and was able to answer various questions we had about the menu. We had asked for a cocktail menu, but was told that they don't have one (weird because there's a sizable bar located on the other side of the restaurant) and was told that we could order what we wanted and that the bartender would make it for us. The mixed drinks were on the weaker side, but they were generous with their wine pours and offered chilled glasses to go with the beer. Two large pre-sliced loaves of bread were brought out for the table, but were mediocre and on the drier side. Between the 7 of us, we sampled the asparagus salad, harborplace salad, crab chowder, heirloom tomato soup (soup of the day), rockfish, swordfish, and the crab cakes. Standouts were the crab chowder (touted as award-winning and it showed), rockfish, and the swordfish. The crab cakes were dry and devoid of flavor and the salads were just ok, nothing special. Service was attentive, but expected to be since the restaurant was empty the whole time we were there. Probably wouldn't go back since there are better options in the area, but a-ok in a pinch.

We joined another couple for cocktails at the water table. It is a nice sized bar inside the Renaissance Inner Harbor. The staff is gracious, like hotel bar staff should be. Drinks are strong, delivered quickly and accurately. There is a small container of bar snacks available upon request. You can raid the (individually wrapped) candy bowl on your way back to your room. Oh, by the way, if you want to take your cocktail back to your room, you are perfectly welcome to do so. I'd love to return to Watertable for cocktails on my next visit to Renaissance Inner Harbor. Original visit January 24, 2014.

Took the family for our first eat out Easter. Waiter never came by the table to ask how the food was. I would have told him all the fries were old and not hot. My $30 New York Strip steak entree was not even hot! When the waiter finally came to the table to clear away the dishes, he asked how everything was, I told him about the fries and steak and he replied "okay". Will never visit this overpriced restaurant again!

Crab chowder has potential. Some chunks of crabmeat on top. Good and creamy chowder that is hearty. My one dislike is that it is very, very salty.

First off, I want to start off by saying that this review is based on late night drinks and bites when were staying at the Renaissance Hotel (the Watertable is located on the 5th floor of the hotel and serves as the hotel bar/grill). We had an early dinner at The Brewer's Art (which was amazing I might add), but after going out for some cocktails and being up late, when we arrived back here we decided we wanted to have one last drink and maybe an app if they are open still They had a nice wine selection (which makes me happy), and some quality scotch and whiskey which made the husband happy as well. We ordered a round of drinks as we had heard from the one gentleman in the hallway that they would be closed at 12:30. We did not think we would be able to get anything to eat. Upon speaking with the bartender who could not have been more friendly and helpful, he had said that they would be open until at least 1am since they were busy. He said he had the option to stay open later if that was what he had wanted to do. Needless to say, we were able to order the mussels and the calamari and still have another beverage. The food was awesome... loved both the mussels and the calamari! I would definitely order them both again. At 1:30am, we went up to our room and they were still busy... this guy was doing what was right for the customers, and not right for his social calendar for a Saturday night. He clearly understands the service industry. Top notch service and food here makes me think we will be back when we stay at the Renaissance again.

The services were totally off. it seems no one knows what's going on. We waited 20min to get waitress' attention to place orders after talking to a manager. I almost wanted to raise my hands to get noticed. It was during Monday lunch time and the restaurant was NOT busy at all. However, the food was okay. We ordered turkey club sandwich and it seemed it was from cold cut deli meat. Grilled cheese was okay too. The view to the harbor was the point, methinks.

This restaurant/bar is inside the hotel. I didn't get to try the food but I did go to the bar. It's a really small place and has a lounge/restaurant feel to it. The lounge area doesn't have too much of a seating area. The wine is decent. It's a great bar if you're staying at the hotel and don't want to leave. But I wouldn't come here just to come.

Great view, nice atmosphere. Risotto was under cooked, still hard. Rockfish was rubbery not flaky, skin soft not crispy. Crab cake very mushy, no texture. Sweet potato gratin had too much cinnamon, seasoning was off. Service was painfully slow.

Wow I don't know how I forgot to review this gem of a restaurant before now my apologies Watertable but hey late is better then never. I was treated to mothers day brunch by my wonderful husband here. Let me start off by saying the view of the inner harbor is gorgeous! Im trying to remember the decor but all I can think off is the beautiful views of this all glass enclosed restaurant. My family and I came here for the mothers day brunch buffet, there were so many delicious foods to choose from and no one was left out. You had land and sea stations (fresh seafood, baked chicken and pot roast),traditional breakfast items; waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and crepes. Vegetarian items: salads steamed veggies fresh fruits and breads. I loved the fact that the kids had their section as well. Mini sliders, gold fish crackers ( I was eating them more than my son) French fries and pizza. I don't know about your kids but that's heaven on earth for my Lil ones. Service was excellent, our server was there to meet our needs without hesitation, the food stations servers had the best attitude as well, I really appreciate that our reservation was towards the end of the brunch but the food was still hot and fresh and no one was treated as if we were an annoyance, you that "don't you see we are closing soon" attitude. I will definitely come back for dinner, I would love have the type of service we had plus the excellent food and the gorgeous view as the back drop to a wonderful with evening my hubby or even friends and family.

I found myself in the Gallery Place beyond hungry, but I didn't want fast food, nor was I in the mood for the other restaurants in the Inner Harbor. The Watertable was suggested to me. I had on jogging pants and a jacket, but the host made me feel so welcomed. I was promptly seated by the window, and a server, Linda, came immediately. There wasn't many vegetarian items on the menu, and I refused to pay $19 for penne, so I ordered butternut squash risotto and creamed spinach. Of course, I ordered a Malbec ;) My risotto was delicious, but the creamed spinach literally floated in the cream. It tasted ok, but the swimming spinach was not my thing. It was like someone has watery cheese sauce, and dumped cooked spinach in it. Next time, I am going for the collards. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, and the view was beautiful. My sever, Linda, was so sweet! She was very knowledgeable about the menu items, and her warm personality would make me return (seriously). The place get three stars--- 5th floor of the Renaissance Hotel is perfect for drinks and a view of the Inner Harbor :)

I got lost trying to find this place but it turned out to be inside the Renaissance Hotels on the 5th floor... which overlooked the fancy pants mall that they built across the street from Inner Harbor. It was such a quiet and romantic place with low lighting. The bar was lit nicely and they had pretty decorated Christmas trees up. The windows overlooked Inner Harbor. The Harborplace Crab Chowder was served over the artisan bread bowl and it was so tasty! The only problem is the skin of bread bowl was so tough and chewy. The seared fish they had... not so much but it was still a pleasant experience!

I suppose it is a little unfair to rate this restaurant the day after I went to the Capital Grille, but this place was okay. The servers were very nice and attempted to be as accommodating as possible, but they were not quite as knowledgeable about the food offerings or as attentive as other restaurants I've patronized. The food was also fine, but nothing special. I was actually so bloated after I ate here I wonder if possibly they might use MSG in some of their food...I have absolutely NO proof to back this up except that, as I do have a sensitivity to MSG, I was definitely having a mild MSG feeling. This is just a gut feeling (no pun intended), please ask them as I forgot to do so first. :) I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant seemed not as clean; from previous reviews I sort of expected the tables to have tablecloths but there were none; instead, there were still some crumbs on my table from a previous diner, and the silverware was pretty well-used. Not dirty, just very worn out. Convenience was there as this restaurant is attached to the hotel I stayed at, but I would have been more comfortable if I just ordered my meal as room service instead. All in all, though everything was OK, on the whole the experience for me was pretty unremarkable.

Disappointing dinner. Only one waiter in the dining room and he was totally overwhelmed. Service was very slow. Soup and salads were fine but bread was lukewarm and not fresh. Coconut shrimp appetizer was not hot and had a handful of coconut flakes sprinkled on top. Scallop dinner had little flavor, cost 24.00 and looked like an appetizer with 3 small scallops over a tiny bit of quinoa. Beautiful view of the city from the dining room.
