Diabetics at Village Inn

If word spread about how incredible this place it, it could really give Miss Shirley's a run for their money! (So for my own selfish reasons of not wanting to fight the masses and wait an hour to have a great brunch, let's keep this between you and me, m'kay?) This time around they had a breakfast casserole as one of their specials - you must order it if it's available. It came with an order of their home fries or their cheesy grits, for only $9! The casserole took up half the plate and wow, did they not skimp on the ingredients - each bite literally had a chunk of ham, a piece of bacon or a slice of sausage, if not all of them. My husband loves their breakfast burrito, which is packed full of spicy chorizo, eggs and cheese - yum! Honestly, this place is fantastic. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, as is the service. They are truly some of the nicest people. The food is spot on, as are the prices, and finding parking or getting a table is a non issue. Really, it's quite nice not having to mentally prepare yourself to go to brunch. I am a big fan of Village Square Cafe!

Good food, not great. Good coffee , not great. Worth the try if your in the area otherwise it's not worth the drive

Get their chips. Always homemade and super crunchy! A bit on the pricey side, but the portions are HUGE. One of the few places around the area that serves breakfast all day, and has outdoor seating. I am a big fan of their Breakfast sandwich and Turkey club (with thick carved turkey on awesome bread--big enough for 2 ppl) They also always have specials, so don't forget look for those.

Village Square Cafe is hidden in the Cross Keys shopping center. I like to go on Sundays for a nice, relaxing breakfast. I usually go for the classic breakfast sandwich, or some sort of egg dish. The food is fresh and filling, albeit not the most flavorful on the planet. A couple times I've ordered lattes and they weren't sweet enough for my taste, but they gladly fixed it. The food comes out fast, and the service is pretty decent. It's a stellar brunch spot, but easy to miss. Go through the courtyard, and if it's nice out, grab an outside table and enjoy!
(4)Tanja P.
Enjoyed their tuna salad sandwich with slaw. Doesn't have too much mayo and the slaw has a little bite to it. I know it's a breakfast/lunch place, but sometimes I wished they stayed open longer. Friendly staff always

Visiting from out of town and found this place on Yelp. Great food, sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere, large menu and big cups of coffee. We wanted a chill alternative to all of the mediocre delis around here and this was perfect. We sat there happily for almost 2 hours. Try the cheddar grits with your omelet! Highly recommend!

I love the little courtyard in which is nestled- on a nice day there are plenty of seats outside. The Cafe is a bit hidden within the shops of Cross Keys, but it is worth seeking out. I've been here twice now and the food is great, people are nice, and the pace is just right for a nice breakfast/brunch. Inside are plenty of tables and a sofa/lounge area- perfect for reading or lingering on a rainy/cold day. The first time we went we had the Roland Park omelet- hickory smoked bacon, cheddar & spinach. The omelet was huge and the eggs were so incredibly fluffy. I chose the potatoes and onions as a side and the sourdough toast. The potatoes are mini potatoes chunked and not over cooked or mashed up (def not diner style). Very very good. Hubby had the Kale Breakfast Sandwich- scrambled eggs with garlicky kale, cheddar & basil-pinenut pesto on your choice of toast (we did the multigrain). The sandwich was wonderful as well- we could not finish our brunch, it was very filling (and at least seemed healthy). He paired it with the cheddar grits- which were a bit runny and nothing to write home about. The classic breakfast sandwich is good too (I'm a sucker for breakfast sandwiches) and their mini éclairs are to die for as well. This is one of our new favorite, quiet spots for outdoor breakfast. Lovely. And as a side note- The Village of Cross Keys, based in Roland Park, has a wonderful, storied history which includes development by Rouse Co and Oprah Winfrey Lived in Cross Keys from 1978 to 1983 while working for WJZ-TV.

Just ok for a quick cheap bite to eat. Service was quick, food came out in about 10 minutes. The Roland park omelette had loads of crispy bacon and spinach in it. Not really a fan of Zekes coffee, I really don't see what all the fuss is about. This place can be tricky to find too. When u turn into the village off of Falls road go to the right towards the offices and park. Then walk down the stairs and the cafe is on the right. No signage to steer you in the right direction.

Sigh. I was really excited by the reviews that compared this place to Miss Shirley's. I gave it a try for Mother's Day, and I was a bit disappointed. Here is my #1 problem: the yolks in the poached eggs were fully cooked. Poached eggs were a main ingredient in several of our dishes, including my mom's. Isn't being able to poach an egg properly supposed to be the mark of a good cook? I have had this issue at a number of restaurants, and as someone who both hates cooked egg yolk and who expects their meal to be correctly prepared, I am seriously annoyed. I might have sent the dishes back, but 2/3 of our table's meals would have had to go back, they were crowded, and it was difficult to get the attention of an employee without standing in the huge line. The rest of my meal was good. I had the big easy, and the eggs florentine and breakfast burrito were among our other choices. The main thing of note was the cheese grits- those were great. So were the mimosas. I didn't find anything special about the rest of the meal. They were also out of muffins, which are supposed to be amazing- would like to try those. I understand that this was an unusually busy day, and this may be an anomaly (although one would think Mother's Day is when you should bring your a-game). For that reason, I would give Village Square Cafe another try.

I got married in Baltimore and we had a farewell brunch the next day at Village Square Cafe. Roseann and her husband Robert were exceptional to work with-prompt, professional, and pleasant. We received glowing feedback from our guests. Over the course of the four days in which I stayed at the Radisson which is next to CrossKeys I probably ate 5 meals there-all fabulous. I'd highly recommend the greek omelette and bagel w/lox. Definitely worth a visit.
(5)S T.
Stopped in for brunch today and decided that after the great service we got I should update my review from 4 to 5 stars. The food and service here are excellent. They were behind on our order and they were very apologetic and did everything possible to make it right. We were very pleased and appreciated their prompt attention.
(5)Julie H.
This is a little neighborhood gem wedged into the Village at Cross Keys between a hotel and some other storefront. Pretty unassuming atmosphere, tasteful but you don't get the sense you are paying for the decor here. Good casual, American fare, reasonable prices and portions. Very kind waitstaff. Try the fried oysters! Went there for dinner and would definitely go again and especially want to try tempting breakfast/brunch menu- served till 3pm! They also serve beer, wine and cocktails in addition to deliciously local Zeke's coffee.
(4)Amy W.
I went here Sunday morning on Mother's Day, which happens to be my birthday. My cousin lives down the street from Cross Keys and thought this would be a great place for brunch. I ordered the Quiche with salad, and she ordered the bagel with cream cheese and lox. The Quiche contained asparagus and red peppers and was very good, but a little watery. Everything was delicious and the ambience is nice. The only bad thing I have to say about it, is that the gal who took our order asked my cousin and I if we were mothers; we replied no, and she said never mind. Apparently they were giving away free Mimosas to "mothers". I told her it was my birthday, but I guess that didn't count. I am not so much upset at not getting the free Mimosa as much as I was about the question. It can be a loaded question in so many ways, i.e. child died, unable to have children, etc. Why not just give it to all women because in some way or another, we are part of mother earth? Just a thought.......
(3)R M.
We really enjoy eating here and do so at least every two to three months. Nice place to go when you have errands to run at Cross Keys (toy store, etc.). Great pancakes, coffee, sandwiches and friendly service. Great relaxing place on a Saturday morning.
(4)Kate N.
Best BLT on the planet. Great breakfast, soups, and burgers. Go early for warm blueberry muffins and a hot cup of Zeke's coffee!
(5)Rebecca M.
The Village Square Cafe is terrific! I can't say enough about the staff, the atmosphere, or the food. The staff is friendly and patient, the atmosphere is lively but not crazy, and the food is delicious!
(5)Tierra C.
One day I might get something other than the Black Bean Burgers. Its just they are sooo delicious. Nice owners and staff and don't miss out on all the live music.
(5)Justin H.
Excellent place for breakfast. The eggs were good, as were the pancakes and oatmeal. The kids like the food too, though it can get crowded. Outside patio area and indoor dining as well.
(4)Tim Y.
Village square cafe was just ok in my book. I wasn't blown away by anything. The coffee was great, the food was ok... my friend got a breakfast quesadilla, which I had a little of and I stuck with my typical iced coffee. The clientele at Village Square was elderly on a Saturday... which is a bit telling... it does have the feel of a place I would take my grandparents, a comfortable place to get good that sortof reminds me of somewhere I once attended a wake. If you're looking for a place to get away and hide from the rest of Baltimore City, this has the perfect vibe. You really do feel like you're on an isolated Island when you walk into the courtyard area to get to this place. Don't take my 3 stars as the gold standard... I personally didn't like it that much, but I feel like a lot of people would find this place to be a bit better once they tried it.
(3)P M.
First of all, when you drive into the parking lot, don't confuse it with Donna's cafe, which is much bigger. The village square has entrance from inside courtyard. It's a cute looking breakfast place with a good variety, very prompt service, excellent crowd and a book store kind of atmosphere. Portion size was fine. I have had better pancakes but veggie omelette was good. They were out of blue berry muffins by 10:30 AM. The reason that I will come back here is because of the location (village square), good omelette and the nice fresh feel of the cafe.
(4)Jessica D.
I love this place it's a hidden gem. You definitely have to know it's there to find it. I've been twice. Once for lunch and once for breakfast. For lunch I got a burger but that was a while ago so I can't really comment on it. Today I tried breakfast for the first time and it was really good. You go to the counter and when you order you get a number and they bring out your food. I got the early bird breakfast with turkey sausage and homefries. Everything tasted great and was very filing. The only negative would be I asked for whole wheat toast and ended up with rye which I hate. Only thing missing was a mimosa. Besides that's loved it and will definitely be back! Oh and they have a nice outdoor seating area!
(5)Marjorie M.
I am currently working in the area and thought I'd stop in. I was pleased to find a wide array of various food options. The person working the counter was very friendly and accommodating. The handwritten chalkboard menu was very easy to read. While I waited for my food, I was surprised to find 2 leather couches by some bookcases. My first thought was I will definitely have to come back and actually hang out here. The reading area just looked so cozy and welcoming. Very tempting! In addition to the reading/lounge area, there is a dining area set up that I thought was fairly large for a cafe. There is plenty of seating. I also noticed a sign for live music on certain nights which intrigued me further. I will definitely have to come back! I ordered the Mixed Greens salad with chicken to go. My food came out very quickly and it was delicious. The salads are largely portioned. The leafy greens and vegs were fresh and the grilled chicken was warm. My only issue was the chicken was a little dry, but it was still overall a very well made salad. I'm glad to have a place like that this only a few steps away from the office.
(4)Chih Chao C.
Today I ordered the specialty fish sandwich and iced tea. I like the atmosphere and decoration here. The Village Square is a quiet neighbor, without Yelp I would never know the Village Square Café.
(4)Tracy S.
I'm at the counter right now, admiring the dance of the staff. They're weaving around, flexibly doing everything to keep the flow moving on a busy brunch. At other times, I've sat outside or in the dining area, but this is the best seat in the house. It feels less noisy, other then the clatter of empty plates going into the bus bins. When the tables are full, consider the bar. :) The food is great, consistent and plentiful. I usually get them to make me a 2-egg, rather than the normal 3-egg omelette, because the servings are generous. Also, as mentioned throughout the reviews, the muffins are great, especially the blueberry ones. They're usually gone by 10:30AM on the weekend. I get them to go when I order my meal in order to have dinner after my post-prandial nap. Don't judge me.
(5)Geneva J.
A bit more costly than I expected but bagel was pretty good. Not the best I have had but otherwise decent. The cafe was kind of hard to find if your not familiar with the area... and I'm not. I would have liked a sign to follow to the lower level.
(3)Megan J.
This place is SO GOOD. The food is really delicious and fresh and served up quickly. The woman who may be the owner is very friendly and helpful. Other staff has been just OK during my visits. The location is not great, but you can sit outside on a nice day. Most I importantly, the food is awesome an I'd highly recommend it for lunch. Lots of good and unique options!
(4)Ailene S.
Their food is excellent. I am wheat free and they have gluten free bagels and bread. I eat here once or twice a week and the food is superb. One of my favorites is the kale breakfast sandwich. I stop in more often for a superb cappucino. They use Zekes coffee. The staff are fabulous. This is a real gem in our neighborhood. Wonderful ambiance too.
(5)Cat K.
This is moderately priced, hearty breakfast/lunch food with no frills. I came here for an early weekday lunch, but was drawn instantly to the breakfast menu. My kale scramble sandwich (~$9) came with scrambled eggs, garlicky kale, basil walnut pesto, and goat cheese on multigrain with a side of textbook home fries. It was a hefty portion that left me thoroughly satisfied, though the bread wilted from the heat of the egg. It needed more toasting or thicker slices. The service reminds me of a British pub. You order at the counter and receive a table card to bring back to your seat, and the server brings the food to you when it's ready. I loved the casual atmosphere, especially the comfortable leather couches and shelves of old books for browsing!
(4)Sarah G.
You know a place is delicious when you post a photo of one of their dishes on facebook and people can't tell if its a giant bowl of melted cheese, grits, or just heaven. Yup. Posting a picture of "The Big Easy"on facebook created quite a stir of conversation and that delicious bowl of cheesy grits and prosciutto topped with two fried eggs and toast kept me full for hours!! I actually couldn't even finish all of it because it was so incredibly filling!!! But so so tasty, and worth all of the fame it got on my facebook wall. Oh and the lady insisted to give me butter for my toast that came with it too, even though I told her I had plenty of cheese in my grits already, but when I was told that Baltimore thinks it is in the south food wise, I definitely learned that here!! The service though was great, and for this cafe being in a kind of random location in the village square shops area, I really hope that it continues to get business, because it would just be a sad sad day for no one to be able to order something called "The Big Easy" anymore. It is reasonably priced, the coffee was pretty tasty, all in all, a great way to spend a breakfast!
(4)Anne-Margaret O.
Now I must say, the blueberry muffins and the Apple Danishes are absolutely to die for - incredible!! We love coming here for brunch on Sunday's, but yesterday I was a little disappointed in my order. I ordered the make your own omlette. I asked for spinach, tomato, and onion as the filling for my egg white omlette. The egg white omlette part was perfect - but the filling was non-existent. No lie - there were two leaves of spinach in my omlette - perhaps two-three little tomato cubes and three diced sections of onion. The vegetables were more like garnishes than a filling for a veggie omlette. Next time I will just stick with my blueberry muffin and a cup of coffee!
(3)Devonshire B.
The hot pastrami sandwich was a win and so was the chicken caesar wrap. Even the fries were delicious! The pasta salad could use some loving though. I'd come back, fo' sho.
(4)Travis W.
Super friendly. Great service. Massive mugs of coffee. Great shop owners environment. The roasted potatoes are delicious.
(5)Pat M.
On the plus side: The food (breakfast) is quite good! We've been here a half-dozen times or so, and can't remember having a poor meal. The sausage is about the best we've had, and the toast (made from bread from some D.C area bakery, apparently) is excellent. Pancakes quite scrumptious as well. Coffee is good and served in a nice soup bowl sized cup. Also always seem to be able to get a table without having to wait, and ordering up at the register makes the process quicker. On the minus side: A fairly limited and stagnant menu, which is somewhat offset by the quality of what IS offered. The biggest minus is a generally poor staff. Staff is young and generally doesn't seem to savvy or interested overall. Not atrocious, but they just seem semi-interested or distracted. On one visit the wifey asked for a minor modification that would essentially equate to one of the dishes minus the egg, but the cashier seemed befuddled and said she didn't think they could do that. On another visit the food deliverer (you order at front, get a number to post at your table, and they then bring it to you once ready) didn't bring butter for the pancakes, then forgit to bring it when we caught him and asked him to bring some, then was nowhere to be found the rest of our time there (and NO, we are not rude, and are in fact quite nice to the staff!). The three stars would easily be four stars if the staff was a bit better, and we continue to go on occasion simply because the food is good.
(3)Jayna B.
We made reservations here for my friend's 30th birthday brunch. We were coming from Philly and she was coming from DC. We chose the Village Square Cafe based on Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed! The staff was courteous and helpful. We insisted on hiding in the back bathroom area so that we could surprise our friend and they didn't treat us like we were weird at all. You order at the counter and then can sit and eat. This could be annoying or stressful for some staff but not here. They were very relaxed and helpful. They even let us keep our cake in their fridge and helped us set it up. Their claim to fame seems to be the cheddar grits and the special plate is the Big Easy including the cheddar grits, prosciutto, and eggs. I had none of these things because I don't like them but half of our party did and they enjoyed them very much. The other half of us had egg sandwiches and the bagels were plump and perfectly toasted. The only thing I didn't like were the hash browns. They were just potatoes and had little to no taste. Oh, and this place was difficult to find. It is in a shopping center but it is not able to be seen from the outside. You have to walk through the square. But you also can't see the square so it's kinda difficult to tell where it is. Luckily, the staff is very helpful with phone directions. All in all, if I am ever in Baltimore, I will return.

We've been here three times in a short period which should indicate how good it is. Be mindful that it could get crowded and the wait for the very fresh food could be long...but worth it. The multi-grain bread which accompanies the platters is the best I've had. The cheese grits are delicious. I haven't had one of their humongous muffins, but they look amazing and I can't imagine them anything but terrific. The coffee deserves a star too. Love it.

First off, the Village Square Cafe is a lifesaver on the weekend. Something about the weekend makes me crave a full, delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. One problem with this is I'm not a morning person, and I don't feel like making diddly squat when I wake up. The other problem is that I usually wake up starving, and I need food FAST. I used to be faced with the dilemma of choosing where to eat AND wait. Could I handle an hour wait at Miss Shirley's, two hours at Blue Moon, or maybe 30-45 minutes at Paper Moon? Which place would I deem worthy of the wait on that particular day? Eventually, I decided to look on Yelp to see if there was a place that served breakfast and was also close to my house. Thanks to Yelp I discovered the Village Square Cafe! I told my boyfriend we were trying something different, and we made the less than 10 minute drive there. When we got there, we were able to walk right on up to the counter to order our food. Ordering food right away on a Saturday morning? No lines or a ridiculous wait? I thought that maybe I was dreaming, but after giving my arm a sharp pinch, I confirmed that it was indeed reality. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, but you must order your food at the counter first. If you choose to dine in, you will get a number to put on your table so the wait staff can find you. I ordered the Western Omelette (ham, peppers, onions, and cheddar) and it came with breakfast potatoes and toast. My boyfriend ordered a Reuben, and it came with fries. For both of us, the total came to around $25. It only took around 10-15 minutes for our food to be brought out. I was tempted to pinch my arm one more time to make sure I was awake, but I decided to feed face instead. To my delight, the food was really good! Everything was freshly made, and the portions were quite large for the price. My omelette was chock full of ingredients, and I got plenty of breakfast potatoes. The toast was average, but it's not like I expected show-stopping, draw-dropping toast. My boyfriend's sandwich looked tasty (I don't like Reubens, so I didn't try it), and his fries were hand-cut and yummy. Both of us were very satisfied with our meals. Plus it only took maybe an hour at most for us to get there, park, eat, and leave. Since our initial visit, we have been back to the Village Square Café over a dozen times. Out of those visits, we still have never had to wait to order, and it continues to take 15 minutes at most to get our food. As I wrap up this review, there are a few things I'd like to add: -There's a full bar. -Breakfast is served all day (there's hope after a late start!) -There is a freezer with ice cream novelties. -They close at 3pm during the week, but 8pm on the weekends. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Village Square Café, and it is a great alternative to Miss Shirley's on the weekend. Good food without the wait!

The food is as good as Miss Shirely's if not quite as large a choice....yet there is no hour wait time like Miss Shirley's and the prices are much lower. They have the world's best, and I do mean best Blueberry Muffins. If you are going heart healthy their oatmeal with a generous amount of fruit is excellent. All their omelet's are first rate. I have eaten breakfast their over 20 times. The only weak item is their pancakes which were not as fluffy as one could hope for, but that might have just been for that one day. I have eaten lunch only a few times and would recommend the pastrami. When the weather is nice the outdoor seating in the Village Square is a delight.

So glad I discovered this place. So close to my house but hidden away in the Village of Cross Keys, I would have never found it if it weren't for Yelp! It was a little too chilly to sit outside for brunch this morning, but have big plans to come here during the Spring and Summer and do just that. It doesn't seem like the kind of place that would serve bloody marys, in fact I didn't see anyone drinking them. When we walked in the hubs was disappointed thinking he wouldn't have any help with his day after St. Patty's day hangover. But then we spotted the booze. Phew, he was relieved. I stuck with coffee this time but am glad to know the morning booze is offered. Yay! For a small little cafe, they have a decent amount of breakfast and lunch options. I got my usual eggs benedict and couldn't have asked for much more. The hash browns were more like potato wedges and a little bland, but the eggs were very good. Coffee was fresh and strong. Will be returning for a yummy outdoor meal and bloodys very soon I'm sure.

I went here this morning with my mother for our birthday breakfast. We share the same birthday so we usually go out for breakfast together sometime during our birthday week. My mother suggested since I had never been to Cross Keys it would be fun to eat breakfast at the cafe and the browse some shops. What a great idea it was! I got the Brioche French toast with bacon and she had poached eggs with rye toast. We also shared a side of cheddar grits. The food was great, the bacon was perfect nice and crispy. The environment was comfortable too. Looses a star because it's slightly pricey for what is essentially typical breakfast food and also because they were out of Chai at 9:30 in the morning. I plan to go back!

The cafe was nice. A good change of pace. Service was a bit slow as the cashiers doubled as servers. A little hectic for the morning rush. Once we ordered, it took about 15-20 mins to get our food. The food was delicious. I had an omelette with sausage, onions and Swiss with cheddar grits and multigrain toast. All this for around $11. My wife had a bagel with eggs and cheese which cost around $6. The latte was good and the atmosphere was nice. Would recommend and I would go back again. In total for two of us, I spent $22 on breakfast.

I'm really not sure why this place gets great reviews. Perhaps there's a couple good things on the menu I was unaware of and was unlucky enough to not order. I got the "Big Breakfast" which sounded awesome and the guy got the breakfast burrito. It seemed pretty safe. On a positive note, I got my eggs poached and they were cooked perfectly. Sadly that was the only good thing about my meal. The sausage was almost cold and the side salad I got for 2.50 extra had approximately eight leaves and a couple cherry tomatoes....c'mon guys - really? $2.50 for that? But I think the highlight of the dish were the undercooked, dense, and rubbery pancakes. I'd like to say they may have been good if I had gotten them before they went cold but I really doubt it would have helped. I can't fathom how someone could manage to make pancakes bad, but they were laughably awful! The boyfriend's breakfast burrito was disappointing but not as bad as the pancakes, but his breakfast potatoes were flavorless aside from the hint of rancid oil. I hope we just came on an off day because there's no way anyone would give the meal we had anything more than 2 starts. 30 dollars later we both feel sick and disappointed.

I love that it is in a small garden away from traffic. Nice place. I wish it was open in the evening too though.

I love this place. I come every Sunday for brunch with my mom. The food is great--fresh and homemade, reasonably priced, and the service is good. Their fries are DE-LIC-IOUS!!

I am not a fan of most of Baltimore restaurants. They are either too expensive, (Manhattan expensive) for what is given, offer blighely clueless service, (oh, you'd like a teaspoon with your coffee? sure!), and employ chefs so arrogant they make Parisien chefs appear as conciliatory as the Dalai Lama, (those rock hard shards of dessicated pancetta bits that almost broke my tooth were just the way the chef wanted it????). And that happened in two different restaurants! Being a marginally accomplished cook does not make you a chef anymore than being able to smile and chirp, 'Hi guys, I'm Stacy and I'll be takin care of ya tonight so you'll leave a big tip so i can get another tattoo" makes you a server. "Oh, and if you want me, just wave, I'll be at the hostess' stand arguing with the rest of the floor staff as to who really should have won on last nights. "Dancing with the Stars". Service would take an ever so positive leap forward if they acquired a sense of urgency and a modicum of what the hell is going on! Most owners could supplement revenue by charging the public to sit in on servers "training" sessions. That's got to be pretty amusing! But if I were to vote on the best restaurant in Baltimore based on food, service, value, aware and accommodating service and committed ownership and who get it right every time? I would easily pick Village Square Cafe. No reason ever to go to Miss Shirley's at almost double the price! And the place is spotless and inviting with possibly the most pleasant outdoor patio of any. A plus, if you sit at the corner table nearest the adjoining hotel cafe patio, your repast will be accompanied by the pleasant scent of the Italian and Thai purple basil growing in the planters next to your chair. If Baltimoreans could regain their senses and stop patronizing places that charge top dollar for mediocre food and sometimes laughable invariably sub par service, perhaps the owners would lose the "big fish in a little pond" attitude, sit in on a few lunches at Village Square and learn how it 's done. Tip: If you ever see the cranberry almond muffins just out of the oven set on the counter, diet or not, GET ONE! It will be the best muffin you have ever had and take it with a dark, always carefully brewed Zeke's!

Cozy little cafè for the lunch crowd. Food quality is good and the staff are friendly.

Every time I go here, I feel like I'm entering my best friend's living room: warm, inviting, and relaxing. The coffee and food are both consistently great. They also have bottomless mugs of coffee for dine-in, patio dining outside, and the cafe is located in beautiful Cross Keys.

I've been to Village Square twice and I'm thrilled there's a North Baltimore alternative to the long wait of Miss Shirely's. The service is gracious and helpful. The room is well lit and clean. The atmosphere is classy. The first time I went was after a long night out and I devoured my home fries, omlette and turkey sausage. All cooked just right. The second time I went I had fish and chips. Now, I'm pretty serious about my fish and chips and dead serious about my French fries. Both, were quite good. I would have liked my fries hotter. But, the fish was great. Light, crispy and flavorful. They'll even bring out the malt vinegar if you ask.

This place is the perfect spot for a business breakfast or lunch. There is almost always seating, the food and drink are tasty and reasonably priced and you can sit there as long as you want and no one will bother you. Also parking is free and plentiful, which is not true at all Baltimore places.

Very nice coffee shop with great coffee. They brew Zeeks coffee, a local Baltimore coffee, which is excellent all by itself. Only $2.00 for a coffee mug with free refills. Free WiFi too!
