why have I never been here????! although I can not indulge and the very fragrant pastries that are on display, I did however explore the Italian ice iced tea! Genius drink people! This is my thing whenever I'm near here!

Stopped here with my fiancé for a coffee and a pastry. He got the chocolate cannoli and I got a regular cannoli they were good and the coffees were also good. Perfect thing to satisfy our sweet tooth.

After dinner at Nacho Mama's in Canton, a friend and I were craving something sweet. On the walk back to the car, we passed Vaccaro's Italian Pastries and knew we needed to stop in. When you enter Vaccaro's, you are greeted by a case of gelato and a case of fresh pastries. My friend ordered the Chocolate Top Cheesecake. The cheesecake was very rich, she ended up taking a few bites everyday and eating this over the course of three days. The cheesecake was realy creamy and the chocolate on top was super fudgy and delicious, just how chocolate should be. My favorite pastry, hands down is a Napoleon. When I saw the array of Napoleons, I had to get one. I decided on the Chocolate-Vanilla Napoleon. The pastry was super flaky and the custard was creamy. This was also very decadent and I ended up eating it over the course of a few days. Perhaps my favorite part of this Napoleon was the chocolate drizzle on top. I cannot wait to go back for another one. If you're out in Canton and looking for something sweet, Vaccaro's should satisfy your cravings.

Vaccarao's disappointed on a night when I was craving some delicious dessert. I heard the hype about this place from a few locals and decided to check it out. The gelato and the rest of the desserts are just ok. Nothing to truly brag about or nothing memorable. If it was replaced by an Olive Garden it wouldn't be missed.
(2)Matthew L.
Not as busy as the other locations, but still has most of the same options. Don't forget about the nightly specials.

Vaccaro's never seems to impress me as much as I want it to. Everyone in Baltimore raves about their pastries and their gelato and to me it's always totally standard. I got a double scoop of gelato and it was good but nothing I would ever go out of my way for. My favorite thing about this location is that it's a good place to get a good cup of coffee if you're in Canton. If it closed and was replaced with a Baskin-Robbins or a Cold Stone Creamery or a place like that, I think I'd be bummed out, but short of that I certainly have no particular attachment to Vaccaro's. The coffee is really all that stands out in my mind.

Stopped in here after dinner up the street. I've been to the one in Little Italy and they used to have an outpost in Union Station. Pastry's didn't look particularly good, but I came here for one thing, cannolis. The cannolis were ok, though the filling was a little bit too sweet for my taste. The killer was the price, at almost $5 a piece it was by far the most expensive cannoli I've ever had and definitely not the best.
(2)Irene A.
I've never been to the one in little Italy so this is my first Vaccaro's experience but my friends who live in canton brought me here and said I had to get something. So of course I did! How could I pass up! I really wanted to get the cannoli, but maybe next time! I got gelato this time! The salted caramel is absolutely delicious! I got the small but it was huge! So big I couldn't even finish it! I will be going back to get the cannoli! and maybe some more ice cream! ;D

I love pastries. I find that as I get older, I don't enjoy the straight up sugary sweet as much any more. Vaccaro's does a good job of making sweets without being too sweet. I like their cannoli's but in general, I'm not a big cannoli eater. I do recognize that most people love their cannolis. What I do enjoy here is having a sandwich and coffee while doing some work on the internet (Wi-Fi) or talking over some business idea with a colleague. It's very quiet in the daytime which makes it very peaceful.

Not that big of a fan of italian dessert and pastries in general, but of course being a foodie, you have to try your local staples. Locations, venue, service etc: - hard to find PARKING, really hard. I ended up parking at safeway and walking over. this was a sunday night. - venue was nice, not crowded at all so it was pretty spacious with plenty of open seating. - the lady working the counter was kind of unfriendly, maybe she had a long day, who knows. Food: - got the chocolate and regular cannolis. I'm not a cannoli connoisseur, but both of these seemed good. The crust was well fried and tasted fresh. Filling was incredibly rich with a hint of mint. - gelatos: prefer pitango over vaccaro's, but it wasn't bad. We tried the chocolate and the pistachio--they just didn't have that special something, but the texture was there. - Apple Cider: i love apples cider and theirs was pretty awesome. perfect amount of sweetness, complex spices, and right amount of viscosity (not too thin). Topped off with whipped cream. Overall: I would actually give this place a 3.5 if I could.

I had a cannoli and it was very good and a Italian cookies and cream ice was the absolute best. Pumpkin cheesecake was the best I've ever had. Jus the right amount of pumpkin right amount of spice and definitely was creamy as cheesecake should be. I definitely will be coming here quite more often.

This is the smaller version of the Vaccaro's in Little Italy. I loved their tiramisu, although there was too much alcohol on the bottom so I couldn't eat that layer. It was actually pretty strong and I was surprised!
(4)Carol H.
Their cream puffs were a bit dry, stale and the filling was not creamy at all. The apple napolean was really good. Sweet with very flakey layers.
(3)Jason B.
the best cannoli ever! (period)
(5)Richie G.
Great pastries and gelato. Their cannoli are pretty good. The gelato was great! Very friendly and great atmosphere!
(5)Brittany G.
great cannoli!

It's the second time I got stale cookies here. Had to throw away my whole bag. The pastries look like train wrecks.

It's cool to have an Italian pastry shop around your neighborhood. Vaccaro's provides just that. It's not fantastic per say, but it does provide a nice place to enjoy a dessert after a meal on the square. The gelato here is is okay. There's more variety than Pitango, but the quality is slightly less. The best day for gelato, however, are Wednesdays, where a medium cup is half price. I do like the cannoli and the tiramisu here. They are pretty decent. I'm a huge fan of tiramisu and Vaccaro's provides the convenience of not having to go to a sit down restaurant in order to nab one.
(3)Emily W.
I love Vaccaro's cookies (and their cappuccinos). We got hooked on them when there was a store inside Owings Mills Mall, but now find ourselves headed over to the Little Italy location to satisfy our fix. What can I say? Their cookies are great. Prices are a little steep though-- and parking can be tough. If you're coming from the Downtown area, the Circulator will drop you off nearby (just something to consider). Pros: good cookies, pastries, and cappuccino Cons: relatively expensive, parking is hit or miss.

All I've had a chance to try here are the chocolate dipped cannoli and OH MY TASTE BUDS! They are delicious. If you're taking them to go, I suggest buying the "fill yourself" kit and you basically get one free. Cannot wait to try chip and dip cannoli and of course gelato. Love having authentic Italian desserts in the neighborhood! Edit: I've now had so many items in the menu, and everything is incredibly delicious.

Vaccaro's sells an assortment of Italian cookies (though I didn't see any rainbow cookies!), gelato, assorted coffees/espresso drinks and savory items, like salads and sandwiches as per the menu. I got a small gelato which was actually not small at all. A small is two scoops and I got chocolate and hazelnut. $3.90 is a great deal for such a shareable amount. The chocolate was nice and creamy and the hazelnut had actual chunks of hazelnut in it, which I loved. though the texture was rather chalky for some reason. Whatevs, still ate it. Hopefully next time it'll be creamier. The girl behind the counter was really nice and let me sample a few flavors. I tried the peanut butter and tiramisu flavors as well - the tiramisu can be skipped (and I'm a huge fan of the dessert) but the peanut butter was delish! Like a fancy version of Ralph's Snickers cream ice. Was it the best gelato I've ever had? No. But the people were nice, it's a cute little shop and it's good for what it is: a cute little Italian pastry shop in Canton square that's perfect for a post-date treat or after a stroll in the little park. I shall be back to try their coffee or when I'm in the mood for something sweet!
(3)Mich El M.
Don't go in hungry, or you will want to get one of every thing. Huge portions, great taste and presentation. And over. 20 flavors of gelato.
(5)Jennifer H.
I hate to write a negative review, but I have tried this location twice and both times I was not happy. First time, I got the tiramisu and it was extremely bad. I love tiramisu but this one was inedible. I think it was sitting in the showcase for too long because it was so, so soggy and tasted like alcohol and nothing else. I've never had worse. Then I went for a walk this past weekend to the square and saw a big sign outside for hot apple cider. I was in the mood, so I popped in. Needless to say, I was disappointed when the nice older woman behind the counter grabbed a bottle of "veryfine apple juice" which she then heated up (i'm not kidding) and then charged me $3.25 for hot apple cider. Apple juice and cider are not the same thing. Seriously, Vaccaro's...how hard is it to buy a jug of apple cider to keep in your fridge if this is what you are advertising? Or just tell me you are out of it that day.
(1)Lisa B.
Love the cannoli's and the cannoli chips and dip! The gelato is pretty good as well. Overall great place when your sweet tooth is screaming!
(5)Roger Y.
Great prices, great food. I love the iced coffee with espresso. This is a clean restaurant, the cleanest I think I've seen in the city and the staff are friendly people who take the time to tell you have a good day. I'm suffering from an addiction to their BLT's, so I suggest trying one at your own risk - you may not be able to go more than a few weeks without coming back for another. Love this place.

4 stars for food; 2 stars for service Food - We ordered a cup of the Italian cookies and cream gelato, and it was delicious! We also enjoyed the chocolate cannoli. The filling was great! We bought some cookies to take home, and they tasted good as well, though I would not buy them again since they're pricey & I don't care for fancy Italian cookies. Most of daily specials at Vaccaro's are pretty good deals. Service - I had a $16 Groupon for this Vaccaro's location, and I wanted to spend the $16 on sandwiches/salads and desserts. A board outside the bakery advertised the sandwiches they had. When I went inside, the person behind the counter saw me looking at the list of sandwiches/salads and said they ran out of bread and lettuce. Really? If so, why is there a sign outside advertising your sandwiches? Well, that was annoying and led me to spend all $16 on desserts. I think this Vaccaro's location needs to hire more staff. They had a lot of customers, and the tables were messy and crumbs were all over the floor. I will be back, though, because I enjoyed the food.

We stopped for desert after eating lunch elsewhere. Our group of 4 loved everything we tried and wished we would have skipped lunch and went right for the good stuff! Seating can be busy and tight but worth it. A must stop!

Back in the day, or more like 5-6 years ago, Vaccaro's was the bomb. I loved getting chocolate Italian soda's and lemon drop cookies. My tastebuds would party hardy with these two items. However, they no longer have chocolate syrup (really come on now). And while the cookies are still good, it's just not the same. However, don't let that keep you from coming here. It's still a good place for cookies!
(3)Jenny H.
They have the same gelato flavors as the bigger Vaccaro's in Little Italy, but the ambience is different. This place is a lot smaller with higher stool seating, and it seems more like a modern cafe/coffee shop than a cozy dessert place. I think they have more limited offerings than the full menu at the Little Italy store. I'm glad they're here though, easy for me to stop by if I'm in the area!
(3)Lynn K.
Just popped in for a quick dessert to take home and share with the hubby. Selected the Chocolate and Vanilla Napoleon. Chocolate for me and vanilla for him. Perfect. No wonder we are celebrating another anniversary. We know how to compromise. Brought it home, made some tea and just listened to each other enjoy eating this delicious pastry. The layers were so light and delicate they stuck to your fork. But we manage to overcome and ate every little bit. Then tried to remember why we wanted to share and not get one apiece. Crazy love!
(4)David S.
The coffee was ehh and the cream puff was good. Not great. I really want to give 3.5 stars but it wont let me. The reason its not a full 4 was the young lady at the counter did not really seem all that interested in taking care of me and my GF. If I found myself in the area again, I would give them another shot but I would not go out of my way.

Went here for the first time today after having lunch with friends in Canton. Of course, on this cold and rainy day, I had to order a Chai Tea Latte and I must admit, that was the best part of my day so far!!! It was perfectly blended and tasted amazing! As for the treats, I took home a raspberry napoleon and a piece of cannoli. The napoleon was HUGE! The cannoli was more like an average size. Both tasted delicious, although I wouldn't say it was the best dessert I ever had. It certainly hit the spot, for what it's worth. There seemed to be plenty of selection, and the women were both fast and friendly. I would return again if I was in the neighborhood and wanting a delicious home made Italian treat (or another AMAZING Chai)!

Love this place. My mom took s here when we were kids and I've been hookedever since.
(5)Christina P.
I love this place. Love it. Peanut butter fudge gelato is hands down the best gelato my mouth has ever tasted. I have been talking to my sister about this place for years and she came to visit me today and we finally went. I guess she never really believed how good this pb fudge gelato is until she tasted it herself today. I have been to the canton, little Italy, and hunt valley locations. Mint choco chip and bacio (chocolate hazelnut) are also great!!! My boyfriend got the cannoli one time and and the filling was delicious...it oozed out of the sides of the cannoli ! My bf isn't a huge dessert guy..he likes it but would rather have steak and potatoes... When I saw him polish off gelato and the cannoli...I knew this place rocked! Hahaha
(5)BJ F.
This is one of my favorite places for desert. My husband and i always get it to go. He drives around the block while i run in. It can be extremely hectic on a weekend but it is always worth it. I get a large cappuccino and some cookies, usually almond macaroons, a chocolate frosted and a clamshell. Been coming here for over 30 years and i have never been disappointed. On summer nites if we can find a parking spot we walk down to the next block and will sit and watch the bocci games. That tops off a great nite for me.
(5)Jennifer S.
Not quite sure what the rave reviews are about. We stopped here after having dinner next door, hopeful that we had found a true Italian bakery (oh how I love cookies, and oh how my BF loves cannoli and tiramisu). Well the quest continues. The cannoli had a flavorless shell and dense, bland filling. The cookies, the six or so that I sampled, were all dry and a bit stale, save one of them---the almond macaroon. The Italian iced tea was the only saving grace--which was really just lemon ice floating in freshly brewed tea. Sadly, it is not enough to ever entice me back.

I was back in Baltimore for an evening and wanted to remind myself of some of the better parts of my realtively brief tenure in Baltimore 12 years ago. Somehow Vaccaro's made it onto that list. Not sure why, but now my memory is clear - Vaccaro's isn't that great. Their obscenely huge eclair was kind of weird - the custard filling was good, but the pastry was crusty and almost bread-like, the chocolate icing was cloyingly sweet and belonged on a supermarket birthday cake. I also bought an "assemble-at-home" cannoli kit. The cannoli cream had too much cinnamon in it, but was otherwise ok. They shells were fine, but nothing special. The young kid working the counter on a recent Thursday night was as ambivalent as could be. All in all, I wouldn't put Vaccaro's on my "must visit" Baltimore places.
(2)Ralph R.
Yum! Ok, it was yum, but I had a cream puff, which was just OK. Much better were the almond cookies.
(3)M A.
all their desserts and coffee are HUGE and to die for!
(5)Srebrina M.
I have been to Vaccaro's multiple time but I just had their gelato for a first time and I loved it! The prices for their coffees are really good, they have costumer appreciation specials every day of the week, and the paninis are the best. Basically it's the best value you can get for your money and beats all the coffee shops with terrible service in the area. My favourite is pretty basic - the breakfast mozzarella and tomato panini sandwich - really tasty and pretty cheap!

Like 95% of Italian restaurants in the Baltimore/DC area do not make their cannoli filling, but order it from Vaccaro's. So I give mad props to any place that actually makes their own. Sabatino's in Bmore and Da Marco's in SS are two places that I can think of off the top of my head that make their own. They always get a little nervous when I'm like "Do you guys use Vaccaro's filling" because they think I think that's a good thing. No, I think it's a good thing when you don't take the easy way out. I'm not saying Vaccaro's is bad, but sometimes it can taste a little ...well artificial. I don't know if they sell different grades of filling, but one of them has that distinct cinnamon flavoring à la Big Red gum. So I'm in Bmore, and I got time to waste so I decide to go get myself a cannoli and cappy from Vaccaro's. Let me tell you, this was the worst cannoli I've ever eaten. Extremely, overly, sweet and G-R-I-T-T-Y. WTF. I know what you're thinking, ricotta does have a slight chalky texture to it, nope, I'm not talking about that, I'm talking grit, real grit. To top that off, the "cappuccino" was loaded on top with cool whip??? As in like hot chocolate. No foam, but whipped cream? This all made me both mad and sad. I thought back to the Italian grandpa I used to buy my cannolis from in NY during all the summers I spent as a kid visiting my grandma, and how one time I tried to make them myself. They didn't turn out (you have to drain the ricotta really well), and my mom told me to ask the Italian nonno, that he would tell me what to do. And he did, he spent 10 minutes explaining to a 9 year-old girl how to get them just right. I'm sure he's long gone, but it's a sad reminder to how much we lose when we become inhospitable to small business.
(3)Kylene T.
We were in the area for dinner and stopped here because I have a minor tiramisu problem. It was fri night so they were busy but nothing crazy- most of the tables taken and people crowding the gelato section making their choices. Checking out the case I didn't see any tiramisu so I ask the girl behind the counter if they had any. She rudely told me it was in the case where I was looking. Sorry I missed with all the people crowding the counter. I was put off by her unwelcoming attitude that didn't order the coffee I wanted or stay and eat the dessert at the one open table. As for the tiramisu, it was good size and tasted okay, but the bottom layer was soaked and soggy. It both looked and tasted like it had been stewing in its plastic to-go container for a few days. Also, this may be a personal problem but there was a maraschino cherry on top (which I find to be Satan's dessert topping) and stupid cherry juice dripped on some of the tiramisu. Anyway, it made me a little sad to see after the rude interaction.

I am convinced that there is no better neopolitan in the entire universe than the ones at Vaccaro's. Inside this little gem of a pastry shop you will find a glorious case displaying a mindblowing amount of cookies, cakes, gelato, and italian desserts. All of which are good, but the neopolitans are the best. There are probably a dozen flavors to choose from - I'm partial to the vanilla, but from what I have tasted they are all incredible. This pastry is a brick of goodness sent down from heaven, oozing with the most incredible custard you have ever experienced, and enormous enough to hold an entire week's worth of calories. And it is worth every, single, glorious, bite.
(5)Lynne P.
If you go to the Vaccaro's in Little Italy and the line is stretched out the door, hop back in your car and head just about 1 mile east to Vaccaro's Canton branch. The selection may be slightly smaller, but you won't notice. There are plenty of huge napoleans, filled-on-the-spot cannoli, gelato flavors, and chewy Italian cookies to fill anyone's stomach to bursting. The food/coffee is the same, but the atmosphere could not be more different from the original location in Little Italy. Instead of tiny tables jammed together and blue neon lights, the Canton branch has tall stools, a flickering electric fireplace, and exposed brick (natch). Makes for a much cozier evening.
(5)Marcus S.
The desserts at Vaccaros are delicious; however on several weeknight occasions we have gone to the canton location and the two women on staff have been nearly impossible to deal with. We have tried to order a hot chocolate or gelato approximately 20 minutes prior to closing and they refused. If you are interested in a dessert I would recommend another location.
(1)C P.
Heavenly for the dessert lovers! Huge servings of dessert, may seem expensive at first, but you get your money's worth. After pondering over the excessive number of choices, I had the napoleon with coconut creme with chocolate hazelnut gelato. Hot chocolate was very creamy. Service was quite average, but go here for the food - everything tasted authentic and was among the best I ever had. You will be surprised especially if you only have had desserts at full service restaurants. Totally worth going on your visit to Baltimore!
(5)F D.
The Neapolitan was HUGE. It was so big it was difficult for 3 people to eat as a dessert. I think I enjoyed the little assorted cookies even more than the Neapolitan.
