You would look at this place and figure it is simply Mexican fast food. That would be so wrong. This little place turns out some seriously good food. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. They have all the standard fare but the Carnitas really stands out. The pork is spiced perfectly and very tender. The nachos with Carnitas is no appetizer, it's a full meal. The street tacos are amazing. They are simple and fresh and I love the corn tortillas. The refried beans are perfect. My favorite part is the salsa bar. You can choose from a variety of salsas. I love to mix and match salsas and this is perfect. The hot salsa has some pretty good heat, and if I think it's hot then most would think it TOO HOT. They only have a few tables but this place is worth a visit

I would actually award Tacos Tolteca a 4.5 if possible. This place is surely a diamond in the rough called Dundalk. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and it was freshly made in about 5 minutes for me. The staff was extremely friendly and those quesadillas were some of the best that I have ever had. Their menu isn't huge but the next time out I am going to go for the specialty burritos. It is a shame that their location dulls the perceived value of the restaurant because this is truly a must try!

Wish I could give it 3-1/2 stars. It was quite good, the portion sizes were great and the service was nice. It didn't blow my mind (5 stars) and I wouldn't say it was excellent (4stars) but it was better then average. I had the 2 grilled chicken enchiladas, and a Classico taco. My wife went for the Gordo burrito. My enchiladas were better. Wish the retried beans and rice were a little hotter. I would definitely and gladly go back again.

I love this taco place ! I've tried every taco place imaginable from Baltimore to Virginia and this is by far the best ! Chipotle and Q Doba can NOT keep up with this places flavor ! I recommend this place to anyone looking for REAL chicken and beef in their tacos and bowls

The BEST mexican restaurant in the area. The chicken quesadilla was GREAT!! My husband loves the street tacos. I have had the taco salad. It was wonderful!!!! Everything we have ordered is delicious, super fresh and tasty. Love the tortilla chips. Everything is frrsh and home made. The service is great and quick. I have recommended this restaurant to all my friends!!

This is a quality authentic Mexican restaurant located behind Eastpoint Mall. They have all the standard menu items for that style of restaurant and everything is made fresh. I've been here a few times, always getting just a couple of soft tacos. They include freshly made tortilla chips and two deep fried...small white onions or some shit. W/e it was, I ate it with tacos. I've only been disappointed here once when I ordered tacos de lengua (beef tongue tacos), which I later realized wasn't even on the menu. Anyway, it was really chewy and still had the skin/taste buds on it. Had the same thing elsewhere before and it was a lot better prepared. No bueno.

Been here several times. Food is always good. The Gordo Burrito is especially good. Different salsas to choose from with varying heat! Definitely recommended if you like Mexican food. Quick friendly service.

I love love love this place! Very friendly staff every time we go in there and delicious food! I always get the same thing (chicken quesadillas ) though i want to try other stuff, but because I love the chicken quesadillas so much I can't not get them. The chips and guacamole are awesome as well. The portions are of good size. I definitely recommend this place!

Excellent spot! Friendly staff, clean place. Their chips are fresh with a number of different salsas made in-house with fresh veggies and peppers. The Gordo Burrito is delicious and big enough to feed two. Will definitely be coming back.

I've been to this place several times since it opened. Originally I was disappointed that they didn't have some of the more authentic meat choices for their tacos - lengua, barbacoa, or even chorizo! However a simple ask at the counter and they were more than happy to make me an order of chorizo tacos even though they weren't on the menu. They were outstanding. While the price point is a little high for street tacos ($2.50/taco), the freshness and authentic taste were more than worth it to me. Beyond the tacos, we've had the quesadillas and the queso fundito. They were both fantastic.

Clean inside, nice service. Menu isn't huge but not bad. I had the California burrito and it was pretty good. Certainly better then Taco Bell :)

Very good, pretty authentic. They offer street tacos (corn tortilla, meat, onion, cilantro) and Americano tacos (flour tortilla, cheese, lettuce, tomato), along with quesadilla, burritos, and some kid friendly things like chicken fingers. Like another reviewer mentioned, they are lacking some authentic meats, but they do indeed have chorizo, which is good enough for me. Chips are included with the meal, and there's a salsa bar you can use for your chips and whatever meal you order. Food comes out quickly, and hot and fresh. I work a few minutes away, and there's a serious lack of good lunch options, so I'm going to be a very regular customer there. I'd consider this place a 5 star for the area, but only 4 stars in comparison to a place like Tortilleria Sinaloa (my favorite that I've found in city), or some of the food truck tacos I had in Philly.

This place is delicious! some of the best Mexican food I have had! You will not be disappointed!!! The people who work here are so nice and make sure you are happy at all times. Came to our table many times to refill our drinks and take away dishes. I got pulled chicken on my burrito it was super juicy and tender. My husband got the enchiladas with ground beef and those were very good as well. The rice was cooked perfectly. The portions are huge! I could only finish half my burrito. We finished up with fried ice cream and some of the best churros (sp?) I have ever had. We will definitely be back, I can't wait to try the nachos!!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
