We stopped here on the bar crawl a few weeks ago for a bite. The place was packed due to the crawl, but we found a seat. The music was good but really loud. We ordered lobster nachos. YUM! The only real difficulty was that they were wholly understaffed for that kind of foot traffic. It took a long time to get drinks and almost a half hour to get the check. We'd come back on another night to see a normal flow of business and for more of those nachos!

Came here for a birthday brunch with 4 others about a week ago. The place was pretty crowded but we got a good spot. Our waiter was really nice and friendly, but a little flaky and on the slow side of service. He also brought out 2 dishes first, then another one about 3 minutes later, then the other 2 dishes came 5 minutes after that. My friend's fries also came out 5 minutes after her burger. A solid amount of TVs set around the tables and bar as well, good for football brunch Sundays I'm sure. I ordered a breakfast burger and fries, which I thought was awesome. It was cooked a little more than I had asked for, but flavor was ALL there. I had no idea, but all fries seemed to be coated in some sort of truffle oil. They tasted amazing. My friends got things like crab benedict, a personal size Bianca Pizza, and another breakfast burger. We got the $20 unlimited brunch drink specials...so our table was filled with cups of mimosas, bloody mary's, and other alcoholic breakfast drinks. I thought for that and the food, it was a good deal. Crab was $6+ if you wanted it on benedict. We got there around noon, and ended up staying until 330pm. The server said that even though we had to close out around 3 when brunch was over, we could still order more pitchers right before then and chill with all the drinks at the table if we wanted to. We definitely took advantage of that. The place was totally empty after about 230pm. We were literally the only ones in there. Brunch is definitely their time for being a hot spot. I would recommend that they fix the place up a bit though....pieces of our table and the ceiling were missing and looked nasty, lamps were cracked and broken, etc. Maybe not too noticeable to others, but we definitely took notice, since the place looks like it's going for a nice casual vibe...not divey.. I wasn't hating on anything else though...we drank a hell of a lot and the food was great. Food and lots of good drinks will get 4 stars from me, even though the place can be touched up a bit on both physical appearance and service.

Good service. Good brunch, if finished properly. Everything crying for flavor. I think the chef banned salt. The crab Benedict with old bay should have been amazing. Poached eggs were perfect, but everything was so bland!! Salted the crap out of it, and still mediocre.

Last 2 trips for dinner for dinner have been big misses. Not sure what is going on. Duck nachos still good. Rest is average at best.

My favorite place in Canton. Great drinks. Great brunch. Great atmosphere. I have never had one complaint there. You can't go wrong with bottomless brunch!
(5)Steve R.
Worst breakfast I have ever had. Everyone was disappointed in the food they received. Had a simple ham and cheese sandwich and they managed to make it non appetizing. I will never come back for brunch
(1)Mallory S.
Good atmosphere for watching a game on a Sunday afternoon or for brunch with friends. Brunch menu exceeds the bar menu but all food items are better than your average pub food. Get the duck nachos or breakfast pizza if you go for brunch!

(Average food, Horrible Service) I recently went to Saute for brunch on Sunday. I live close by, but haven't been for brunch. I've always heard pretty good reviews about their brunch. Not the case during my visit. First of all, I did not get the $19.95 drink/brunch deal. My date and I instead went with the $12.95 option (one entree with coffee/juice). Upon entering the location, we were seated at a 2 person table just right of the front door. The table wobbled very bad and the bar seats sat too low. The hostess took our coffee order but didn't not return for approximately 5 minutes with coffee cup that hold about 6 oz of coffee. While waiting for our coffee, a waiter arrived and asked if we've done been help. (Still 5 min wait). I asked if he would be our waiter. He was very rude stating that he would be. Knowing how long the coffee was taking. My date and I ordered. We both got omelets with home fries. Finally after the coffee arrived, We decided to move to the bar due to the wobbling table. After siting at the bar, the bartender finally asked us if we where ok. (Wait approx. 4 min). The bar has 8 people sitting at the bar. Food finally came out and the food was average, but not worth $12.95. My date order an orange juice and we both ordered a side of toast. The toast did not come out with out food order not did her orange juice. We told the bartender, Who returned with one slice each for $2 dollars on top of the 12.95 we already paid (each). Finally while trying to pay, we had to wait 10 minutes because the bartender had to check out several other people at the bar. While waiting, the manager, hostess, or waiter stood at the end if the bar joking around, never assisting the bartender. My advise to this location. Get ride of cheap plastic cups with color straws. Looks dumb and cheap. Second, help one another out while guests are waiting for their food. This is a service industry.

This is one of my favorite happy hour and brunch spots. Half price wine during hh makes for a great deal. My favorite dish is the buffalo chicken pizza. The service is always quick and friendly. On nice days, you can sit outside. The all you can drink brunch is great and very popular-so go early (like right when they open at 10) or make a reservation. I love that you can choose sangria as your drink at brunch. I'm not a fan of OJ or Tomato Juice...so most all you can drink brunches don't work for me.

I had been dying to come to this place for quite some time. My boyfriend and I finally made it over for dinner and I was beyond disappointed. The experience was sub par. The bartender was extremely friendly and obviously trying to compensate for the fact that he was the only staff up front at the time. We ordered the fried pickles to start which arrived burned and with zero flavor. I ordered the mushroom ravioli which was decent. But the burger my boyfriend ordered was luke-warm and had little to no flavor. Drink prices were decent, but felt the food was over priced for what we received. In addition, we both ended up with food poisoning. Needless to say we will not be returning.

This is our go to spot in Canton for excellent upscale bar food and drinks. Chef Mark has a really great understanding of flavor and texture combinations and has elevated bar food. The pulled duck nachos with duck confit, homemade white cheese sauce, and pickled poblano peppers are out of this world. The house smoked wings are another go-to item. They have a host of other great appetizers such as fries with chipotle vinaigrette and manchego cheese and sauteed brussel sprouts with pancetta. The menu changes frequently based on what's fresh. Have never had a bad dish. They also have drink specials throughout the week and rotate some very good beer selections on their taps. The bartenders (Beth and Brandon) and owner (Terri) are awesome. Definitely a great neighborhood bar!

This place is pretty cool for one reason: all you can drink mimosas, bloodies, and sangria for brunch. The mimosas were pretty tasty, and the sangria wasn't bad either. I was bummed that they didn't have any red sangria when I went. I ordered the breakfast pizza, which was wayyy too much food for one person, but alcohol certainly helps wash down food that is terrible for you. Mine was sans bacon, and I heard that the bacon makes the dish even more delectable (for you meat lovers). I would be interested in returning for brunch. Based on the food quality, I probably wouldn't go back for dinner.

I went to saute today for brunch, with my fiancee and dog. We sat outside, and it was our third visit or so. Today's experience was only so-so because the outdoor table is right near the kitchen door, and the trash cans. As a result (I think), we got a *lot* of flies coming in as we were eating, so that made it hard to stand. I would come back though, because the breakfast pizza is very good. I just wouldn't sit outside.
(3)Amanda B.
Ok...normally this place is decent. This morning I went in for brunch and was told there would be a $3.50 up charge for any meals ordered with eggs due to "The Egg Shortage". What? I said that's the cost for a dozen eggs at the grocery store. When I protested there was no budging by them. Needless to say we left. Current restaurant we moved to has no upcharge and laughed with us about the story.
(1)Chris T.
Annoyingly mismanaged restaurant. Apparently there is an "egg-shortage" in Baltimore. This means they will up-charge you three dollars in for egg products on their menu. Can't wait for the new restaurant that will replace this one!

So, read my prior review on brunch. This review is for dinner. I returned for dinner, same rating, 3 stars. The food is good. Just good. Not great or anything mind blowing, but good. Brussel sprouts were kind of chewy, should be more crispy with the charcoal look. The risotto with the scallops was pretty bland, but the scallops were good. The mushroom ravioli had a good sauce, but the raviolis themselves were so full of mushrooms and hardly any cheese. The best part of ravioli is the cheese! Bummer. The beet salad looked delicious though I didn't try that. And the burger looked boring. Corn on the cob was good grilled, but too much garlic. And i love garlic, so thats crazy. But overall, it's a good spot, but a lot better places to eat around Canton. Sorry my palate is spoiled lol.
(3)Will W.
Love this place. It's our favorite restaurant in Canton. We've had everything on the menu and never had a complaint. Very highly recommend the pulled duck nachos. Crab cakes hold up against any in Baltimore. Great bottomless brunch. Friendly staff.

Went to Saute on Sunday for brunch with my fiance and another couple and it was perfect! We went with the $12.95 option (one entree with coffee/juice) rather than the alcohol included option since we had a wedding the night before. Often restaurants are not as attentive when you are not ordering alcohol but this was not the case. Our waiter was perfect. Our waters were constantly refilled and I had about 7+ cups of coffee. This service on top of great breakfast (I had an omelette) made for a perfect morning!
(5)Yolie O.
Birthday dinner in Canton! The wings were juicy & the housemade bleu cheese dressing was creamy & full of bleu cheese chunks, pork tenderloin with a honey mustard demi was cooked to perfection, margherita pizza was flavorful & had a crispy crust, and bacon-wrapped meatloaf with a ligonberry jam was the perfect balance of sweet & salty. Smoked gouda mashed potatoes were good, I didn't quiet get the gouda taste & missed it. And the perfect ending was the chocolate lava cake although I can't say for sure that it was housemade. Our server was attentive & very friendly. Sorry no pics...food looked too good & we dove right in :)

Hubby and I had stayed away from this place for years due to mixed reviews on Yelp. I mean, if we're going to spend money to dine out, it had better be a good place! We don't take a lot of chances. However, a couple of weeks ago, a friend wanted to meet there for his birthday. We ate first and then walked over. Boy oh boy, am I glad he pretty much forced their leftover duck nachos on us because they were delicious, even cold. So... we came back for dinner and brought my dad and his girlfriend, who have very high standards. And they loved it! That's a sure sign that a place is good. We loved it too. There was a mixup at the start about whether they had any Breckenridge Vanilla Porter left, but our server, Yousef (I think? and I'm probably misspelling that) had a very good sense of humor about it and was genuinely apologetic. Turned out they had a fresh keg, so lucky us. Dad and the girlfriend had the braised brisket, which was tender and fatty and wonderful. Hubby had the meatloaf, which I thought was a bit dry for my taste, but he liked it. I went with the special and it was seriously superb. Braised pork belly in a Sriracha-ginger-soy sauce over noodles and stir-fried veggies. Holy cow. It had that sweet-savory-spicy flavor that's irresistible and was incredibly rich. Dessert was good, too, even though I don't think they make it in-house. The chocolate lava cake was rich and gooey like you'd expect, and my fried banana cheesecake was pretty tasty, even though I couldn't tell it was banana. And I have to find out where they get such red, sweet strawberries in the winter. Certainly not at the Safeway. Service was quick and generally friendly. The one waitress who seated us was a bit aloof, but offered to store our coats upstairs since there wasn't really room on the dining room banquette with all the patrons. They changed the TVs for us to watch a different football game. And Yousef (again, sorry for misspelling if I've done so!) was really, really great. Attentive but not overly so, charming, funny, prompt, polite, etc. Hope to see him again!!

The first time I ate at Saute, I sat outside on a summer evening. Other than getting assaulted by flies, it was a great experience. I hadn't gone back until now because, I thought the only indoor seating options were next to the bar, which is pretty loud. This time, I discovered there's actually a separate dining room section, which is a little quieter with a more classy atmosphere. They've got a pretty reasonably priced wine list, and the scallops were to die for! I liked but didn't love my wild mushroom ravioli entree. The atmosphere is lively and close to the square, but it's just far away enough that it feels a little more neighborhood-y. Good experience all around!

Went here on Wednesday for "Count on Canton", the fundraiser for one of our neighbors. For those that know, the atmosphere is similar to Bistro RX or Of Love and Regret. I made a reservation for 7:45, and we were seated promptly. The restaurant was packed. We were immediately greeted, however we did not receive even water for at least five minutes. The server overall was very friendly, and the manager stopped by several times to make sure we were having a great time, both of which I very much appreciated. The kitchen did seem a bit slammed, as our food took well over twenty minutes to come out (including appetizers), but when it did, I was pleasantly surprised. The pulled duck nachos were delicious, as were the crab cakes and bacon-wrapped meatloaf. I have had crab cakes all over baltimore and these were by far my favorite; the pieces of "jumbo lump" were nothing short of jumbo. Overall I really enjoyed dinner. We had a great experience, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Went here for the first time to watch the super bowl with friends. Our server was super friendly and was great about giving recommendations for drinks and food. I started with a chocolate martini. Very tasty...maybe a little too delicious, tasted like chocolate milk. Mmmm. Ordered "Hand cut fries"-truffle salt, white cheddar, foie gras gravy, cracked black pepper, fried eggs. Bomb! Gravy is awesome, huge pile of fries were crispy and delicious, Topped with two sunny side up fried eggs. Creamy yolk added to the gravy - Crazy good!! Soup of the day was French onion. It was ok. Very cheesy with a crispy toast on top, but pretty salty and rich, so eating half seemed like enough. My friend had the Bianca pizza - the ricotta cheese was really nice and paired well with the garlic and mushrooms. Surprisingly not too busy for Super Bowl Sunday, but I'm not complaining. Lots of TVs so it was great for watching the game. The bar/restaurant had a nice vibe. Felt very comfortable and casual.
(4)Rico O.
Everything we had was good. One of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The breakfast pizza is also pretty awesome, but way too big for one person. Bloody marys were also excellent.

Went to the bottomless mimosa/bloody mary brunch on sunday --- all drinks were served in small plastic cups with straws (classy). I love 90s pop rock as much as the next person but the music was so loud it was difficult to hear the people at my table. Drinks were not great (not sure that there was vodka in my tomato juice but I dumped loads of tobasco in it and soldiered on. Food was meh - greasy side potato with no flavor, very mediocre omelet and egg sandwich. Hardly worth the $20. Oh and the prices on the website are wrong--add $2-3 dollars.

Atmosphere: 3.5 Service: 3.0 Food: 3.0 Beer Selection: 2.5 Overall: 3.0 My wife and I stopped into Sauté for brunch this past Sunday and the overall experience was good with a side of meh. We arrived around 10:45am and the place was pretty empty save for a small family tucked away in the back dining area. We were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere. We took a seat at one of the two-tops in the bar area. Here's how the 10am-2pm brunch at Sauté works. You have two choices, one includes all-you-can-drink bloody mary's, mimosas or sangria and the other does not. The prices are $16.95 and $12.95 respectively. Once you've determined how much of a drinking problem you're willing to admit to you select an option from a decent selection of breakfast offerings including peanut butter banana French toast and breakfast pizza. There's even a build-your-own omelette choice. Taken as a whole, not a bad offering. I opted to stay away from the alcohol and went with the eggs benedict option. My wife took a stroll on the wild side and opted for the mimosa and berry pancake option. We split a side of bacon (and a few of the mimosas). The eggs benedict was prepared well. It featured a pair of over-easy eggs each draped over ham and half an English muffin then drizzled with Hollandaise sauce. The eggs were the perfect amount of runny and the hollandaise well-seasoned. The dish was accompanied by some red skin potatoes chopped and grilled with diced red peppers and onions. The potatoes were lukewarm and pretty bland. I could have done without them. The berry pancakes were huge. The three cakes, as big as your head, were filled with a mixture of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries and paired with two dollops of whipped cream. They were served with maple syrup. The cakes were crispy on the outside and soft and doughy on the inside, pretty good as far as pancakes go, and the fruit was fresh and generous. The wife was happy with her choice. As for the drinks, the coffee was flavorful, hot and strong and the mimosas were more OJ than Asti (or whatever sparkling wine they were using). The service was attentive and friendly. No complaints there. Some issues we had with this particular visit: -We ordered the bacon crispy and it arrived anything but. A minor issue, really, and to our server's credit, she took care of it immediately. -The douchebag factor seemed a tad higher than it was on our previous visit. Perhaps it was the draw of bottomless alcohol. Perhaps it's the status quo for Canton eateries on Sunday mornings. On the morning of our brunch we actually noticed several visibly drunk patrons at the bar doing their best to loudly annoy the rest of the clientele. Really? Drunk at 11am? Your parents must be proud. Take the popped collars, aviator sunglasses, boat shoes and inexperience and go away...far away. -Turn the music down. My god, the last thing I want to do during breakfast is raise my voice to be heard over god-awful boompish pop music. There's nothing wrong with having the conversation louder than the soundtrack. It's called background music for a reason. Leave it there. I think I'm just getting too old for this shit. To summarize, the brunch at Sauté is a strong contender in the area. The menu is creative and our selections were well-done and tasty. However, if you'd like your experience to be more class than frat house I'd recommend getting there before 11am and sitting in the main dining area, far away from the bar and the narcissistic 23 year-olds still reeking of too-expensive cologne, last-call hookups and cheap beer. Perhaps I'll take my own advice during our next visit.

I've been twice. The first time I went I had the meatloaf which was mediocre at best. However, I'm not a huge meatloaf fan and the drink list was ok, so I thought I'd give it another try. The drink list is the reason for it not being 1-star. Came back for brunch. It was an awful experience. Both my wife and I had the smores french toast. I was expecting it to be stuffed with chocolate. It was just french toast with some marshmallow fluff and chocolate chips tossed on top. It was pretty gross actually. Worse yet, my wife found a chunk of onion in hers. We both felt kind of sick when we left. Service was bad as well. Our waiter disappeared for long chunks of time. My coffee and water were constantly empty. When I caught him and got him to refill my coffee, the coffee was cold. I had to ask another waiter for the check, and had to wait even longer for them to take care of it. All the while. we were feeling sick from the gross food. In summary, if you want to stop in for a drink at the bar, it's probably fine, though there are better options in the neighborhood. Just don't eat anything.

I live close to Saute and have visited twice now with my bf for bottomless brunch. This is a great deal, and weather permitting it's amaaaazing when you can sit outside. I absolutely love the variety on the menu, offering great selections of both breakfast and lunch. The mimosas take the cake for bottomless beverages. They have the perfect amount of alcohol and are absolutely delicious. I actually noticed that if you dine with a group, they will bring out a pitcher so you don't miss out on any bottomless minutes ;) Both white and red sangrias are yummy, but I have yet to try the bloody marys. As far as food, the bianca pizza and berry pancakes are both DELICIOUS! In fact, the serving sizes surprised me, and I wasn't able to finish my plate during either of my visits. We had great service, and it was relatively quiet considering how close you are to the street and bars. While I'm planning to soak in as many outdoor brunches as possibly, the interior is beautifully designed. When the cold months roll around, I won't be disappointed to sit inside at all. Definitely check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

I ordered the seared scallops with apple slaw and sherry vinaigrette. THEY WERE AMAZING! The scallops were cooked perfectly. Portion size was dead on. We also ordered the duck nachos. Piles of duck with Vermont cheddar cheese. It could have used a version of salsa and a little more cheese, but it was delicious nonetheless. We also just happened to go on a Tuesday, HALF PRICE WINE BOTTLES.

My wife and I had been contemplating trying Saute since moving to Canton. Every time we discussed trying some place new the mixed reviews on Yelp would keep us from attending. Today we finally decided otherwise - and we're both glad we did! My wife ordered the Pumpkin Ravioli with duck confit, pine nuts, sage, cranberry and brown butter. I ordered the single Colossal Crabcake with tomato cucumber salad and mom's baked five cheese macaroni. Before our meal came out bread was served with an olive oil that had rosemary and other spices in it. As far as bread was concerned - it was good stuff. Each element of my meal was great. The crabcake tasted great, a little loose but that's because there wasn't much filler and due to how it was cooked. The mac and cheese was just like home and the tomato cucumber salad was a different but nice take on a traditional side. The only downside to the meal is I'm not so sure everything really worked well together as a whole. Each element tasted great but the connection overall wasn't there. Not a big deal however as I'd have it again! My wife loved her meal. No complaints whatsoever. Last but not least, our server Joe was great from start to finish. We definitely recommend checking out Sauté and we will be sure to be back also. After a second time I'll update with 5 stars if it goes as well as this time.

Saute is a pretty class restaurant/bar sitting smack in the middle of Canton. The atmosphere is the best selling point of this place in my mind. It is always very clean and you feel like you could be dressed to the T or just wearing a nice t-shirt here. They have a decent selection of beer on tap, and their food is pretty good. I had the duck nachos which is one of their specialties. I loved the idea, but the result wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I will say the grilled corn-on-the cob was delicious, and made me smile after each bite! I definitely will come back, and try a few more entrees out. I was disappointed that they didn't have ongoing specials. There are so many places in Canton with specials, I was hoping Saute would be right there.

DOWNGRADE- and here's why 1. FLIES. the outside is dog friendly but there are more flies than I have ever seen. Seriously, there were like 20 at our table alone. The owner said she was trying to solve the problem (but the waiter admitted to us it was b/c we were there mid--week and the trash in the alley was the problem)- eeewwww. 2. Because of this my husband had to do the 20min round trip walk to take our dog home so we could sit inside. 3. My beloved duck nachos were bland- could barely tell it was duck and instead of cheddar, it was this weird bland cheese - The menu says Vermont cheddar but I suspect it was not. 4. The Meatloaf was enticing b/c it is wrapped in bacon- yummy BUT it was so salty I could barely eat it without drinking a whole glass of water (which they did not refill for me). 5. They did not give us the HH beer pricing b/c we moved inside (AFTER 2 rounds outside)- pretty crappy in my opinion. Plus, they charged us for 2 sides when we thought it was 1 (we thought it was a combo veggie b/c the waiter said asparagus and green beans when we asked for the veggie of the day- he SHOULD have said asparagus OR green beans- big difference). 6. Even with a Restaurant.com g.c. we spent over $80 (AND he added in the tip on the bill- I think that is super rude- esp since we usually tip more)- I guess he knew we would not be back despite living 5 blocks away.

I haven't been here in a while and stopped in for brunch. I've been before on Sundays, which are very busy especially during football season, and while it has been busy, the service has never been awful. I guess I'll just make a list. We sat outside, there was one other table having drinks. It took forever for our server to greet us. He then proceeded to forget to bring a drink twice for one member of our party. After a long wait for food we had to wait for silverware. I ordered a salad and while he did notify me it had slightly changed seasonally, I ordered it without one of the toppings and it came with none of them except two very small thin slices of avocado. We then ordered two more drinks at which time he again forgot one of them. He forgot to bring a side of fries we ordered. When they came out they were so greasy they were practically translucent and way over salted. Eventually I noticed a hair in the fries. I've always liked it here, but won't be back. Service was terrible and the food wasn't far behind.
(2)Jessica B.
Love the unlimited mimosa/sangria/bloody mary brunch. The price just went up a dollar I believe to $18ish but still a great deal. This past weekend I ordered an omelette which was okay, next time I'll go with one of the more exciting choices on the menu, like the buffalo pizza my friend ordered. Yum. I've also been here on a Thursday night drinking with girlfriends at the bar and thought it was a perfect spot for catching up over wine with friends. I was kind of surprised no one else was doing the same-EVERYONE around us was on a date. The food looked amazing and I'd love to try dinner here.
(4)Cory C.
I enjoy this place. I've only been here for brunch a few times and each time the food and service were great. I'm not sure what else you need other than bottomless mimosas and sangria + good food and a trendy place.
(4)Juan R.
Great Brunch (tasty, sizable portions, solid drinks), comfortable atmosphere with friendly, professional service.
(5)Lyndsay C.
Best brunch deal in town.bottomless sangria (white & red),bloody Mary's and mimosa 10-2. Everything on the menu is great. Get here early on Sundays around 11am it gets crazy because the football crowd comes in.
(4)Heather C.
I wish i would of known about this place sooner! Food was amazing - competitively priced too. Service was quick and friendly, overall a fun experience. Definitely will be back!
(4)Ashley B.
Been here before...good brunch and drinks! This time, we probably had one of the worst waiters I've ever had. Stay away from Ben!
(2)Jocelyn O.
Saute is an amazing restaurant. Each time I have out of town guests, I always bring them there. The brunch is amazing. Best deal in town. The staff is very friendly and it actually seems like they like their jobs versus the staff at other restaurants. I also like that they have TVs all around the restaurant so even if you are just going in for a quick lunch and want to sit in the dining area, you can still watch whatever game you are into.
(5)Merav I.
Went here for an awkward brunch-- weird vibe, service wasn't especially friendly, food was okay. Just not great ambience, servers/bartenders who seem pretty disinterested, and nothing amazing for food. Would not recommend.
(2)Joey G.
I'm from LA and this place exceeded my expectations! 16 bucks gets you an amazing breakfast dish and bottomless sangrias/mimosas/bloody marys Service is slow :(
(5)Donchez C.
Went there last night, crowd was decent, food was even better. You have to try the Duck Nachos, they are really good.
(4)Tay J.
Brunch is great (can get a bit rowdy). Dinner very good. Really enjoy the food here. Surprised it doesnt have even better reviews. Worth a visit
(5)Kojo B.
I went to Saute for the first time this Saturday, for brunch, and it was a great experience. I will start with the decor it is pretty nice, sleek, smooth, and with TV's yes. Brunch was great i had the Berry Flapjacks and unlimited white sangria, i probably went through 5 or 6 glasses. Hey what can i say after two hours of soccer, i needed that. A buddy of mine ordered the shrimp scampi and he enjoyed it. All in all a good spot, it wasnt too crowded since we came in at the tail end of brunch.

Have been here quite a few times as it's close to my house. The brunch is great with bottomless mimosas and bloody's. Usually gets crowded so make a reservation or get there early. Great neighborhood hang out. Have always had great service. The duck nachos are a good appetizer option. The breakfast burger is amazing. The pizza's are all very good as well. The shrimp tempura was what I ordered last time I was there and was very pleased. Highly recommended especially for brunch.

I live pretty close to Sauté and overall really enjoy their food. The burger is always cooked to perfection and I love the duck nachos. Their buffalo chicken pizza is delicious but not your typical pizza- the crust is a very dense, crunchy crust, with a mild topping of bleu cheese and onion, and the cheese is just the right amount of chewy and flavorful. That being said, my appreciation for this place ends there. It now seems to be a regular occurrence when ordering drinks here, my bill ends up a mystery. During their mediocre happy hour, my (same) drinks always ring in at different prices. Whether this is a result of bartender forgetfulness/laziness or mysterious computer glitch... Doesn't really matter. I find I'm always overcharged, and even when it's addressed it isn't remedied. To make matters worse, they used to offer great happy hour food specials but did away with those completely. In summary, if you're craving a delicious burger or some salty sweet duck nachos, check this place out. But if you're looking for a drink or a decent happy hour for a fair price, go elsewhere. Canton has plenty to offer for that.

I was taken here last week... can't remember our server's name but he was friendly. The Butter Crunch Salad was phenomenal. I could have eaten two! The sliders were unique and I like that they came med-rare instead of the typical well done slider. I didn't like the calamari... it was chewy and lacked flavor compared to the other dishes. I'd go back for the salad and half priced glasses of wine on Tuesdays.

We live in the area and go to Sauté occasionally. It has decent food and the bar area has large windows that are opened when the weather is nice, giving you the outside feel while still being inside. With the nice afternoon weather on Friday, we decided to go for happy hour and dinner. The duckling nachos and white pizza have been the staples that I've ordered. We must have missed the buffalo chicken pizza. Per a friend who came in afterwards with her mind set on it for dinner, it has been on the menu for some time, but we just never tried it. We were impressed. There is standard grilled chicken on top (which was good because we needed some to feed our daughter) and the buffalo sauce is in the "pizza" sauce along with some blue cheese. Neither the buffalo nor the blue cheese was overpowering. The pizza was a hit with my wife as well who does not like spicy. I also ordered the full size duck nachos. Luckily we had friends meeting us, because there wasn't much room for both. My wife ordered the shredded beef tacos. They went straight in a box, but were good as leftovers. As mentioned, the semi-open air atmosphere at the bar is good for happy hour. It usually isn't too packed and you can get a bar table. They must have made some recent changes to the happy hour, though. They have a decent draft selection and I remember drafts being on special, but based on my bill the special is only on bottles. They do have a good bottle selection, just wish I would've known. They also have some decent drink specials during the week. I've gone once for Sunday brunch. They have a single price menu with your choice of entrée and AYCD mimosas. Food was OK, and it's not the best deal if you aren't planning to drink.

I've only eaten here once, but I'm sure I will be returning. We came here to eat the day after Valentine's day. The place was empty (being it was the day after Valentines) so service was great. So was the food. The portions are huge and the place is really chic. Most dishes are an upscale version of pub food. We tried the jpulled duck nachos, hand cut fries with duck confit, little neck clams and the meatloaf. A couple of things that stuck out. The cheese roux they used for the nachos and fries was really good, rich without being too salty or heavy. There take on the clams was excellent. The addition of chorizo set it off. The meatloaf was good, but maybe a little less dense than my taste. I'm looking forward to stopping by again.

Always have loved this place and the menu. That was until Sunday. We went in for brunch. Of course there was a wait which was no problem. We ended up snagging some seats at the bar instead. Unfortunately our food took over an hour to come out. I did question the bartender and he finally went to check on it. I understand being busy, but people after us got their food before us. When it did come out it was good, except one persons food didn't come out with the rest. It took another 10 minutes and the others were half way done with their food. We paid in cash and then left still giving the bartender a 29% tip. The next day we realized we had left out credit card there since we had been asked for it for the tab in the beginning. Then we saw we were charged $46 even when we paid in cash! Just because we forgot the card does not mean they can charge it. Very disappointed in a place that usually has great food. Horrible service this time. Will not recommend this place anymore.

I have been to Sauté quite a few times now, so I have decided to review it after I brought a good friend of mine there this past weekend for dinner. We got there around 7ish and the entire back room was filled so we were sat at a 4 top next to the bar. Their wine menu is pretty extensive and their beer menu is also half decent. I would like to say that one of the reasons I love coming here is because our service is always phe-nominal. The menu is small and simple, which I like so I don't have to rack my brain too much, especially since we had been consuming large quantities of delicious high quality beer all afternoon. For drinks, I went for the Yards IPA (I am quite fond of this because it's a Philly Brewery) and my buddy went with a Guinness. We were scanning over the appetizers and I suggested the pulled duck nachos. I have had them before and they were delicious. They are very simple, there is duck (and it does not taste gamie at all), cheese (I think it is like a melted white cheddar sauce) and my favorite thing which really makes these nachos good the Pickled Peppers. If you take a chip with cheese, duck and one or two of those peppers on that bite, guaranteed pleasure. The only downside is, there is not a ton of duck so that is a little disappointed, but they could give me a plate of those pickled peppers and I would jam on them all day. For the entrees my buddy wanted to get a good crab cake while he is in town so he ordered one of their colossal crab cakes. I followed suit because again, I am trying to find the best in the city. I had no expectations for this crab cake because no one ever mentions Saute when it comes to the Baltimore staple. My wife got the NY Strip steak that was on special. The crab cakes came out and they were served with a back mac and cheese and a cucumber salad. When I inspected the crab cake, the first thing I noticed was the enormous pieces of lump crab meat in this thing. I couldn't believe it. Definitely the biggest lumps I have seen in a crab cake to date. They were like the size of half dollar! (Yes I have been drinking, and I could be exaggerating, just know they were large) There was not much filler in these bad boys either. The mac and cheese was good and so was the cucumber salad. My wife's steak was also cooked to a perfect medium and seasoned very well. It was delicious. Sauté showed me again that they are a great go to restaurant for great service and good meals. More importantly they impressed by buddy who stated that the crab cake was by far the best one he has ever eaten. I am also...no I shouldn't...but I must, it was the best crab cake I have had in the city to date. I hope I can keep improving and find the best, but Sauté owns that title for me.

My husband and I recently went to Saute around the holidays. The restaurant was elegant, laid-back, quite and friendly. I typically do not like meatloaf, but I've been dreaming of Saute's meatloaf ever since. The meatloaf was wrapped in bacon, drizzled with barbeque sauce, and paired with a tower of mac & cheese and green beans. My huband got the mussels (a generous serving) but we've had better. The mussels did not taste fresh. The restaurant is a little pricey, but they serve appetizers big enough to be a meal. I'd go back for the meatloaf!

Saute opened in the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore a few years ago. I have heard so many good things about the restaurant, but had never tried it until just recently. My college roommate lives a couple of blocks from Saute, so we decided to grab a bite at the bar on a Friday night. While the dining area was quite filled, the bar had plenty of seats, so we sat down and ordered a beer while looking over the menu. The draft beers were all seasonal summer ales, which isn't my first preference, but certainly nothing to complain about..... even though I just kind of did, lol. I started off with a grilled Caesar salad and my buddy had the soup of the day, which was a tomato bisque. Both were very good, although I would say the prices were extremely high for the poritions. For our entrees, I had the scallops served with a pesto risotto, roasted cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. All of the ingredients on my dish complimented each other perfectly. The risotto needed a dash of salt, but it was a very good meal.... One that I would definitely order again. My buddy ordered the crab cake entrée (you can order this as a single or double crab cake.) I forget what his dish was served with, but I did try his crab cake and it was very good. When you are in crab cake country, a chef needs to add a twist that will make his crab cake in Maryland memorable. At Saute, the chef elected to go heavy on the Old Bay seasoning, which is a Baltimore staple in our food. It was different from any other crab cake I have tasted in Maryland, but was delicious nonetheless. The cake was broiled to perfection, and had just enough filler to keep the crab cake congealed. I think we were both trying to go the healthy route on the menu, but there were so many other options to choose from. Some of the fan favorites are the flatbread pizzas and the duck nachos.... Which looked ridiculous. Saute is also leading the Sunday Brunch scene in the area with a $17 brunch that includes bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's, as well as your choice of one entrée from their brunch menu. I have never partaken in such said event, but can't wait to pop my cherry. Overall, this place could easily be 4 stars if I was rating Saute on taste alone, but I deducted 1/2 point for the prices and another 1/2 point for the service. THE GOOD: Food, Atmosphere, Menu Options, Great Neighborhood Joint, Sunday Brunch (Supposedly) THE MEH: Prices are high. The Chatty Bartender wanted to be our best friend and had a knack for answering every question with about 118 words too many. THE BAD: Reference "MEH"

I can only speak for Saturday brunch. We were the first ones there, so we got the best table outside with good shading. The server (who also could be the manager) remembered our orders without writing it down. We got served quickly. I had the crab melt with fries, and my food was tasty (especially the fries!) with a good amount of crab meat. It was $13, so it was reasonable. My friends got eggs benedict and crab omelette, and both said their food was good. I would certainly go there again for brunch (and perhaps other meals too).

I went to Saute with a large group of coworkers during a week night. Parking is street parking so depending on what time you get there; the parking situation could be a pain. We got there are 5:00 so parking was a breeze. When we got in, there were a few people at the bar, but it was mostly empty. They had GREAT happy hour prices. I got wine for $3.50 a glass! The selection on the dinner menu was ok. It's not the largest menu, but I enough where you could find something to eat. I started with the calamari, which was really good! It was tender and seasoned well. For my entre I got the margherita pizza. It was really good. The ingredients were fresh and the crust was nice and crispy. You also get a large portion which is always great when you can have leftovers. Overall it was an ok place. I'd like to go back for happy hour and lunch. The only turn-off for me is the parking. That area is mostly residential so later on a weeknight or a weekend could make the parking a little difficult.

These are thy facts: I went here for brunch and I am crazy/unstable. The service here was not great. However, they get five stars for the duck nachos and breakfast pizza. I love duck and I love nachos. There you have it. The service is painfully slow and can be aloof so make sure you have a seat by the window and enjoy the canton scenery.

I have heard nothing but great things about Saute heading into my first experience. Street parking was easy on a Saturday night (surprisingly) but valet for $7 was an option. The restaurant itself was not as "hip" as it was made out to be but it was still nice. Our waiter made some early mistakes (didn't take a drink order right away, forgot to bring out bread and oil and then forgot plates for the bread). I ordered the meatloaf and my date ordered the beet salad with shrimp. We split an order or Mom's Mac and Cheese. My meatloaf was very dry and it did not have much flavor even though it was wrapped in bacon. The mashed potatoes and spinach it came with carried the meal and were more appetizing. My dates beet salad got good reviews. Also, the white sangria was average at best. The mac and cheese was good and was a nice addition to the meal. Two meals, two glasses of sangria and two yuenglings was $75 with tip included. I heard several complaints while sitting there eating, mostly about the service and the poor timing of appetizers to main course transition. The clientele was surprisingly older (50's) and not city hipsters. Overall it was a decent experience and I will give Saute another try but the service MUST get better and my food better be great next time. With so many comparable restaurants like Salt and Pazo they need to up their game at Saute a little bit.....or lower it's prices.

Celebrated NYE at Sauté. Food and service was terrific!

So the only reason I ended up at Saute was due to the fact that I got a steal on a gift card from restaurant.com during one of their 80% off sales. The girl friend and I are not open to $100 meals on a regular basis (which I estimated after looking at the menu and calculating our drink intake) but figured we would give it a shot on a Friday night after work. The food ended up being pretty good (we went with the Duck Nachos for an appetizer, she got the pumpkin ravioli entree, and I the pork). Both of us were pretty satisfied with the food overall and wouldn't really talk down to that portion of the experience. The atmosphere tries to be an upscale and clearly the prices (on both food and particularly drinks) reflect this. They did have Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA which made me happy but I would have been better off driving to the Milton brewery in Delaware and having them hand make it for me (ok that might be a bit of an exxageration on the pricing of the drinks). Service was not anything that I would rave about and after we wrapped up eating and finished our drinks I had to eventually prompt the server to bring the check over, which was a little annoying. Overall, only three stars (wanted to go 3.5) due to the fact that I'm now out about $75.00 out of pocket with a pretty good meal and nothing really to rave about. Pretty much can guarantee I won't be back on a normal eventing (possibly a splurge type occasion) but thanks for the Friday night after work dinner and drinks. P.S. Also, after reading Ann's review I really will tread cautiously here in the future (particularly for the prices they are asking for).

Rolled up here New Years Eve morning for their $16.99 brunch and bottomless bloody mary's. The place looks nice. Modern bar and tables in an upscale sports bar setting. I had the Mediterranean Benedict. It was alright. Presentation wasn't much. 2 eggs on muffin and some diced taters. The staff all but ignored us at the bar but then again they were standing all around us so all we had to do is say "aye yo!" an they were there. I have to give it to the bartender for being quick with bloody mary refills. I felt like I got my money's worth in drink. Not sure I would come here for the food alone. Bloody mary was one of the better one's I've had though. Sorry Jess I. Maybe I'll try his place again just for you.

I just went here for brunch yesterday and it was fantastic! $16.95 included my meal and bottomless mimosas or bloody marys. The portion sizes are huge and the food was wonderful. Everybody I was with had something different and we all loved what we had. The service was a little slow so don't plan on going here if have any where to be in a hurry but otherwise, I definitely recommend this place for a leisurely Saturday brunch.

I went to Saute on Saturday for the first time with some girlfriends and I have to say, I was very pleased. Maybe because it was monsooning out, but when we arrived for our reservation at 8:30, we were seated immediately. The bar and restaurant were pretty busy, considering the weather outside. Our waitress came right over to get our drink orders and I got the red sangria- it was AMAZING. My friend got the key lime pie martini and that was also to do die for. We also received a bread basket almost immediately, which was nice. The menu is small and concise: a few appetizers, a few salads, and maybe 7 or 8 choices for entrees. Nothing too extensive or confusing. Our entrees came out soon after that and I was very happy with what I ordered. I ordered the colossal crab cake (single) with mashed potatoes and a fresh cucumber and tomato salad, and I inhaled everything. The crab cake was delectable and light, with very little filler, which is how it should be (I mean, I was in Baltimore...). It was also a decent size- 7-8 oz. at least! One of my friends ordered the same dish and cleaned her plate as well. I almost ordered the bistro filet, which looked equally amazing, as two of my friends ordered that. Again, both cleaned their plates with no problem. We also got some kind of decadent, rich chocolate cake with raspberry sauce which was to. die. for. There is also valet parking, since Saute is very close to Canton square so parking is really tight. That was a great perk! I'd definitely like to go back and try to eat my way through some more of the menu.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a whim a few weeks ago and had a really fantasticSunday night dinner. We shared the mussels and they were juicy and delicious. Our waiter was so nice and everything was smooth. The atmosphere is really pretty and great for a date night. I will definitely be back and very likely for half price wine night.
(4)Jennifer H.
This place is hit-or-miss, especially regarding service. The fries, wings, and buffalo chicken pizza are pretty good. I got a chicken entree that just wasn't that good, and the beer selection leaves a bit to be desired.

I came here for brunch with a group of friends a few Sundays ago around 1 pm. They have an $18 bottomless brunch that includes bloody marys, mimosas, and sangria. They ran out of mimosas first, about thirty minutes after we arrived, and the bloody marys were the next to go. They didn't seem super packed, so I'm not sure what was going on with the lack of supply since we were told the brunch special didn't end until 3. The sangria was super watered down and didn't really taste like sangria at all. Maybe they were running out of that, too, and had to cut it with white grape juice? Sorry to be casting aspersions, but how can you offer a bottomless brunch in Canton and not know that people are going to want to drink alcohol?? The final straw was that my Margherita pizza did not have any basil on it and tasted mediocre with a somewhat rubbery crust. I had heard really great things about the food here before, so maybe I should have gotten something more high-end that was more their forte? But combined with the lack of "bottomless" drinks, it was one of the poorer brunch experiences I've had in Bmore.
(2)Andrew W.
I havent been here in a few months but the few time I have been - the food has been spotty. I am not sure if they have different chefs on differnt nights but sometimes the food is great and sometimes it is horrible. On a more recent experience we both got the fish special. It came out and both of our dishes were cooked horribley the fish had the consistency of mush. We sent it back, which I hate to do, and it came out again. The second time was the same as the first. The server apolgized and gave us a coupon for a free meal which was nice and unexpected. The thing that got me was they said the reason the fish was cooked so poorly was because it was a very difficult fish to cook. To me that is basically saying "Our chef has no idea what they are doing" O well Brunch on the other hand is good.

My roommate and I were looking for a dinner spot in Canton last Friday night and happened upon Saute on our way to the square. We sat outdoors and I was immediately impressed with the level of service that we received. The waiter promptly arrived with menus and returned quickly to take our orders and periodically to refill our drinks. The menu wasn't huge, but there were lots of delicious-sounding options. In actuality, the food was a little better than average. We shared an order of duck nachos, each had a salad, and split the margherita pizza. The food was definitely good quality and fresh, but it lacked a bit on the flavor side. Prices for non-entree dishes were reasonable, but the entrees were on the pricey side, imo ($20 or more). I'd go back but it's not on the top of my list for a dinner out.
(3)Michelle B.
Chill place, not too crowded. Will please a foodie without being too fussy.
(4)Kate P.
As far as Brunch is concerned: Bottomless Mimosa, bloody Mary's and coffee are good, food is decent for the price, but run if it is packed. We waited over a hour for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the food was good but not worth the wait. Either be ready to drink while you wait, or have a plan B if crowded and try another weekend.
(3)Katherine S.
I really wish Saute was good, because I live only a few blocks away. So I've given it several chances, hoping that it would get better, or that I'd hit some edible dish that could be a go-to if I wanted a nearby dinner. But everything I've had is just terrible. The last straw was last night, when we ordered the pork chops to share. It was an enormous quantity of meat -- two huge chops -- but they were terrible quality, with huge chunks of inedible fat all over the place. They were breaded (but it was not crispy, just oily damp) and smothered in a disgusting sauce to which they added so much gelatin that it looked like mucus. Sorry for the analogy, but it was awful. I also had the talked-about duck nachos a couple of weeks ago, which were just weird, dripping in a tasteless fondue-like cheese sauce. Sorry, Saute. I want to like you, but I give up.
(1)Ann H.
Note: This is a long post because my experience here was THAT terrible. I've dined at Saute before...on a weeknight. The place was dead, but the food was great. A friend mentioned on Saturday night that he wanted to dine there so we got a small group together of 6 total. I called ahead to make a reservation. The manager that answered said he couldn't do 8pm, as I asked for, so we agreed on 8.30. We said we'd arrive around 8 if there was any way to get us in sooner. That was fine with him. The place was crowded, but the manager greeted us and said that a table of four had just opened up and he was waiting on the table of two to clear. They had "just paid their check" so it shouldn't be too much longer. ONE HOUR later, after two rounds of drinks at the bar, the manager came back over to apologize for the wait and comp'd us a round on them. Agreeably fair. He said it "shouldn't be too much longer." Fast forward 45 minutes and we were still waiting! By this time it was 10.15 and we were starving with no clear indication from anyone as to if we'd even get a table at this point. I went to talk to the manager. He told me that it was a large birthday party of 20 that were taking their time to leave. I asked if he had done anything to encourage them to move to the bar area and allow others with reservations to have dinner. He told me that that was not how they conducted business and that we'd simply have to wait. Then, the owner appeared. He began to confront me about "not wanting to have an argument." I simply wanted to eat dinner and his style of turning over tables was flat out ineffective. (The small dining room had a party of 20 who had paid two hours ago. What's wrong with this picture?) So I repeated the conversation that the manager and I had just had. When I got to the part about asking them to move to the bar, the manager chimed in saying again that he hadn't and then the owner HIT his shoulder as a sign to stop talking. He interrupted with "yes, I made that suggestion." The owner then told me not to tell him how to run his restaurant. Really? Me...a female...with two men in my face trying to intimidate me and telling me off? The owner also kept repeating "I'm not having this argument." Too bad he was the only one not keeping his cool. I felt bad for the manager because he was attempting to make it work and the owner decided he was done with me. I told him that two hours is a ridiculous wait when you have a reservation. He rebutted with, "You didn't have a reservation, you called ahead." Time out. Wait. I called ahead, yes. But wasn't it a reservation when the manager said, I don't think we can do 8pm but 8.30 will work? He could have very easily said, I'm sorry but we're very busy tonight, and I'm not sure what time we can have a table for you. Or how about - sorry but we don't take reservations. Either of those responses would have been acceptable versus sitting and waiting at the bar for two hours and leaving disappointed, starving and insulted. The owner had to add his lack luster charm by having the last word and ending it with, "well why don't you just go to Looney's if you want a table." I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT in Saute again; that is unless this owner looses his shirt and is bought out by someone else. When you have customers waiting to be seated and tables that paid for their check two hours ago, you'd think the owner/manager would want to turn those seats over. They clearly did not want our business. I'm returning the favor by writing this review.

Very disappointed. Just went to saute because I loved that place and I bought a restaurant.com coupon. I was so excited to take my friend to show her this place. Sat outside because it was a beautiful day, but the flies were so bad, we had to move inside. It was Monday during happy hour and the menu said beers were $2 domestics and $3 imports. I asked the waiter which beers were included, drafts or bottles and he said all of them. My friend and I each ordered a beer and then two more. When the bill came the beers were all full price, $6 each. We pointed it out to the waiter, who said oops, I'll be right back. When he came back he said he could not do the happy hour price with the restaurant.com giftcard, what? Why didn't he mention that when we asked which beers were included when we first got there? In my opinion this is poor customer service. We were not trying to use two "deals." The coupon said you had to spend $50 in all food, not including drinks, which is what we did, so the drinks we ordered were not even included in this coupon. So ridiculous, I will not be going back. If you don't want to honor it, then don't advertise on restaurant.com .

So Stop what you are doing and head to Saute, this place is UNREAL! I love the food it is mouthwatering, everyone is so much fun, the restaraunt itself is beautiful. A trendy, hot little dining area and a fun, laid back bar area, that serves declicious drinks! If you are looking to have a great experience, or a cozy little night with your hunny. This must be on your list. Everything on the menu is 100% delicious. The chef, is so talented and creates works of art. A unique spin on classic dishes. Every bite has a burst of flavor..and I LOVE TO EAT. So trust me..this is one of the best!

I didn't get a chance to try the food here, but we stopped by for a couple of drinks. Pretty cool atmosphere. I'm actually not sure if I'd call this a lounge or a pub...maybe a mixture of both? But according to websites, it was referred to as "upscale dining". Its a small little corner bar, and from the looks of it, the food looks "pretty", drinks were reasonably priced (~$7 for a miller lite and a hoegarden), and the scene was decent - not overcrowded but not empty. The only STRANGE thing I'd have to comment about was their Saturday night DJ - every other song was a Justin Timberlake song, or featured him, so I think the DJ must have been a big fan...

In a nutshell: Appetizer and salad = 4 stars! Butter-crunch salad with walnuts goat cheese and cherries YUMMY!! enough for two. Seared scallops over fennel with mandarin oranges...YUMMY (not enough only two small scallops for 15 dollars little pricey...three would've been more appropriate but the taste was so good I didn't care. Main Dishes = 1.5 stars: Encrusted rock fish (tasteless), with oysters (small, greasy, so mostly the taste of fried batter came through), and Hollandaise sauce (again not very tasty and not very complimentary to the dish). served with Couscous OK. Bland BLAND BLAND (I had to ask the waitress for salt and by the time I was half through I finally broke down and asked for hot sauce. I would give it 1 star for the attempt of creativity. They really need to rethink this dish...could have potential with added spice and a New Orleans style sauce. As is the rock fish dish = CHOPPED!! The pumpkin Ravioli - On this dish the ravioli was nicely prepared and tasty. The shredded duck also nice. Unfortunately, the way too much arugula that looked like they just dumped it over the pasta in a messy pile, detracted from the overall dish, too bitter and not enough sauce to carry it through giving this dish a 3 overall. Didn't do desserts as my guest was full and the chef was not flexible enough despite as 24 hour notice to whip up something sugar-free (fruit, nuts and whipped cream hello!?). Now for the service...I think her name was Jessica..or Jamie = 5 stars. She was attentive, appropriate, good timing, and really knew the menu and how each dish was prepared, a top notch server. Atmosphere - cool and trendy decor = 5 stars. Comfort = 1 star : I was at a 2 top and the pedestal of the table and wall to my right were in the way so my leg could not bend naturally and by the end of the meal my leg was actually in pain (Not sure if was the chair but this was the first time I was ever this uncomfortable during a dining experience)! If I were to return, I would probably get the salad and a pizza and sit at the booth or the bar!
(3)Valerie H.
So the food is decent however my appetizer and entree came out at almost the exact same time. Needless to say by the time I got to my $22 steak it was cold. Maybe this is a fluke but I don't know if I will try this place again.
(3)Chris L.
I live around the corner from Saute and have been there quite often in the past 2 years. The food never disappoints especially the wings, sandwiches and the mussels. Service is always on point and drink prices are on par with the rest of Canton. They also have daily happy hour specials on drinks.
(4)Katie A.
I have been here twice, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both times our meals were all great and we love the decor in the place. When we went for brunch it was really crowded so we put our name in and started to have some drinks at the bar, and we were a little worried they were not going to find us when our table was available, but they did. We went for dinner on a Monday night when they have 15% off if you live in 21224, and we were one of the only tables there and we had great service. It is a tad costly, but worth it.

So they have good tasting food but for the price it is not worth it. The specials that they suposily have are non existant and it certaily takes a long time to get your food. Once you receive your food it is definetely good but not worth the wait.

It's good to know that Canton isn't just about burgers and beers. This has become my go-to spot for after-work drinks and appetizers, and even an occasional dinner (although the entrees are a little pricy) when I want to go somewhere within walking distance from home, and I'm not in the mood for nachos and Miller Light. The food can be inconsistent. You can't go wrong with the mussels of the day. The angus sliders and the meatloaf are both delicious, and the bistro filet with a big fat dollop of foie-gras butter is simply spectacular. On the other hand, the crabcakes are pretty dry and ordinary, and an appetizer one evening of orzo risotto with ham, apples, and manchego was downright revolting. While the food can be spotty, the cocktails have always been spot-on. The lemon martini is cool, clean and just sweet-enough, and the caipirinha (my absolute favorite) is the best thing this side of Sao Paolo.

We had an incredible time at Saute for my boyfriend's birthday. We were a large group and the owner was extremely accommodating and nice. She reserved a table for us, ran specials, gave us personal attention all evening and a drink on the house for my boy friend. The food was excellent, certainly the most sophisticated bar food I have seen in Baltimore. The menu was very creative and each item was presented beautifully, with great attention to detail. The wait staff were prompt and fun, despite being very busy. The ambience was perfect, with a good selection of music that was not too loud. We had a fantastic time at Saute and I HIGHLY recommend this place for large groups and also for more intimate occasions. We will certainly be back!!!

I had a great experience at Saute! I hosted a bridal shower there and the details were so easy to arrange with Terri and it was very affordable - everyone got unlimited brunch drinks and a brunch item for $17 plus they were nice enough to throw in some extras! They also asked me what color flowers they should put on the table (at no extra charge!) and were totally okay with us bringing in the bride's favorite cupcakes. The setup was great and the service was too! I definitely recommend this place for brunch or hosting an event.

I went here for lunch with some co-workers and the food was great. Everyone had nothing but positive things to say and the service was good too. I would definitely go there again.

I feel like this place can't decide what it wants to be. The set-up has a fine dining appearance to it, but then there is a TV on every wall. A friend and I went for a drink and dinner. The crabcakes were lovely, and you can't really mess up a glass of wine. I think it is a little over priced though, and can't get a better crabcake at Mama's without a TV blaring.

Food was pretty good, service was subpar. I say this because even on a not terribly busy night, our server was fairly curt. He also made mistakes on the check. It took a while for him to sort that out, and then he neglected to mention that gratuity was included in our bill---without providing the line item check that would have indicated that to us. I guess I felt like that was a bit of a scam, to be honest.

I wanted to give this place 2.5 stars but erred on 2... I had a very strange experience here. My husband and I stopped by on a Monday night to check out their advertised Monday night burger and wing special. I read in several newspapers they had 1/2 off burgers and 1/2 off wings on Mondays. Since we're low on cash lately, we decided to check out Saute strictly for this deal. We arrived around 7ish and the place was empty - maybe one party for dinner (the dining room is behind the bar) and three people at the bar. We were informed that the special was only at the bar and bar tables nearby - no big deal. The bartender/server came over - didn't say anything - gave us menus, got our drink orders and walked away. He came back a few minutes later with our drinks and I smiled and said "I think we'll do the burger and wing deal" .. he then walked away and didn't come back for a few minutes. Then he came back, and looked at my husband and asked what he wanted on his burger - he said "cheddar and mushrooms, medium-rare".. the waiter walked away muttering "I'll have to check to see if we have mushrooms." We assumed he was checking on the mushrooms and would be back to take my order.... but he never came back. He ignored us for 10 minutes while chatting to the 3 people at the bar (obivously regulars) - finally my husband went up to the bar to ask him if he was going to take our full order but the server replied - "I thought you were just getting a burger and wings".... um, he didn't even ask if I wanted anything! So my husband tells him that I want a burger too - I yell over that I want it medium-rare and with cheddar and the server puts the order in. Our food comes and it's really quite good - except that both of our burgers were supposed to be medium rare - mine somehow is well-done.. weird.. .the server comes back to ask my husband if he wants a refill on his Diet Coke but doesn't ask me if I want a refill on my Ice Tea. Anyway, long story... it was a strange strange experience given that the place was empty and I've never had a server just not ask if I wanted anything. There was definitely something wrong with him - perhaps he had a chip on his shoulder because we got the cheapest food and we didn't order alcohol (we typically do but we weren't in the mood for it on a Monday night). But really it was so weird because it was like he didn't even acknowlege my presence at the table - didn't ask if I wanted anything to eat and didn't refill my drink. I sure hope the service is a ton better if you order the full-priced entrees and drinks because this is place where a meal for 2 is easily $100 (the entrees were around $21-$27/each). The food was good though - the fries were homemade and the medium-rare burger (my husband's) was really good (mine was over done). I'm on the fence about where I will ever go back given the strange experience we had.... maybe someone else on Yelp has done better here!

We had a terrible experience here for brunch. The crepes were very greasy, and the menu description did not reflect what actually appeared on the plate (the fact that the waitress knew literally nothing about the menu did not help). We waited for our food for about 40 minutes (we were the only ones in the restaurant) until one of our party (on the way to bathroom) saw that three of them were sitting out under the heat lamp. We asked the waitress to serve those dishes and my poor dad waited another 20 minutes to get his eggs. No updates or apologies from the waitress throughout the whole meal and we were the only ones there.
