Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Gyro was good, but I wish the meat wasn't sliced into thin long strips.. I prefer to have chunks of gyro meat. The meat was a tad dry because of this. I would grade the gyro a 3 out of 5, but the baklava was a 5/5 and totally redeemed this place. The baklava was very fresh, moist, and oozing with honey. It is a pretty thick and substantial piece for $4. If I am in the area again, I would come here just for the baklava. This place is in the Canton Crossing shopping complex, so there's a huge free parking lot.

BEST. PLACE. EVER!!! The staff here is so nice, they remember me and my order every time I come in... which should tell you I'm definitely a regular customer. I normally get the grilled pita with chicken, add feta, with everything on it. It's definitely filling enough for a meal. Sometimes I'll branch out and get a salad with chicken which is good too. The salad is really big so you can definitely save half of it for later. Every time I eat here the food is so good and consistent. I'd say this is one of the best places in the area that portrays Mediterranean cuisine. Their flavors are consist, the staff is fun and friendly, and the establishment is always relaxing and enjoyable.

Popped into Samos as a break from my usual at lunch. Packed as expected. Nevertheless the staff is pretty proficient and they get the orders out fast. My lunch order was their standard gyro and Greek fries. I've always been more than satisfied with their food and today was no different. My food was freshly prepared and hot after taking it back to my office. If Id offer any criticism it would be that things sometimes can be a little pricey. i.e. $15 salads. But that won't deter any future visits. If you're in the Canton area I definitely recommend Samos for casual Greek dining or lunch.

+ Great location + Affordable + Fantastic service for a faster-food joint + Solid food I don't know if there is a downside to this place and it is my go-to when needing some quick eats. And afterwards you can walk across the street to buy liquor. Win.

Pros: + Delicious food + Reasonable prices and great value + Fast, friendly service + Space is large and clean, with ample seating + Located next to grocery stores (e.g. Harris Teeter) and dessert shops (e.g. Yogi Castle) Came here for lunch with a friend on Wednesday. The ordering system works like a fast-food restaurant: you line up, order and pay, and you get a number. You take the number to your table, and they bring your food to you. When you're finished, they also take your plates and trash away, which is really nice! The service is surprisingly fast - we got our food just minutes after ordering. I got a gyro platter, which consists mainly of gyro meat (lamb?), tzatziki, and soft pita, and comes with a side Greek salad and a choice of side (I got the Greek fries). I also got a rice pudding (with cinnamon) for dessert. The platter is $12.75, the individual salad is $5.75 and the Greek fries are $4.75, so essentially I was paying only $2.25 for the meat (same price as a fountain drink). All of the food was delicious. It all felt pretty healthy and not greasy at all. The quantity of food is *very* large, and I was already stuffed by the time I got to my dessert. The rice pudding is also very large, sweet, and provided a refreshing contrast to the gyro meat. The space was large and clean, and there was plenty of seating, even around the busy hour of noon. We didn't have any trouble finding a table. The location is also great. There's Yogi Castle, a frozen yogurt shop, right next door, and Harris Teeter and Target are right behind it, with ample parking.

I enjoyed the shrimp gyro. It was delicious! I only wish there were more shrimp. The sweetened iced tea was good. Don't forget to ask for a refill before you leave.

Love it !!! My second favorite inexpensive restaurant to eat at . Everything here is delicious

After running a few errands in Canton, I was hungry and in the mood to grab something quick so I went over to Samos Greek Island Grill after I finished my errands at Target. Samos Greek Island Grill is the fast-casual version of Samos Restaurant in Greektown. I've heard plenty of great things about both spots, so I was excited to give the Canton spot a try and I had a slight Greek food craving for the past few days. When I was looking over the menu, I knew I needed to try the Spanakopita. It's one of my favorite dishes and I knew this Greek establishment would do it justice. The spanakopita was stuffed with spinach, feta, and herbs then wrapped in filo. This was light and flaky without being greasy. Additionally, it wasn't overly cheesy, the flavors in the spanakopita balanced together nicely. I also ordered one of the platters which came with a side of Greek Salad. The Greek salad was good and a nice addition to the meal, but there was nothing particularly noteworthy about this dish. My Grilled Chicken Platter however, was a completely different story. The chicken kebab was incredibly flavorful and tender. While the one kebab looks like it not may be enough food, with the two sides, it is more than plenty. The other side I chose were the greek fries. Greek fries are french fries topped with feta, lemon, and oregano. The fries had a touch more of lemon flavor than I would have preferred, but overall it was still a great addition to the dish. If you're looking for a quick Greek food fix in Canton, Samos Greek Island Grill should surely satisfy your cravings.

I originally went to Samos in Greektown, which I found out is owned by this location's father. He probably taught his son everything he knew about gyros! Forget those frozen jobbies that you bring in and grill. This is the real deal, for sure. Menu is pretty basic, in and out tasty greek food. Nothing too complicated, or out of my realm of understanding. Though it does have some authentic dishes if you're feeling adventurous. And, as I appreciate so much about Canton Crossing, free parking is a plus, plus, plus!
(4)Suzanne J.
Got hooked on Samos from work colleagues and was especially stoked when this location opened up in Canton, unlike like the original Samos location (in Greektown) they take credit cards (not just cash). My go-to order here is a few of the Chicken Souvlaki skewers, a greek salad with their infamous tasty dressing and heaps of feta and always extra pita bread on the side. Their chicken is amazingly juicy and well-seasoned, not sure how they do it. If you call to pick up, they'll usually get it ready within 10 minutes, they run that place like a well-oiled machine. Be ready on warmer spring and summer afternoons/evenings though, there is usually a crowd sitting down to eat in. The only thing that could make this place even better is if they offered delivery.
(4)Alexander B.
This was good stuff. Food was well prepared and delicious. Decent options for kids and lots to choose from for the older crowd. Dessert was also great, very fresh Baklava. Everything we saw looked great. We went with the Gyro platter high came with fries and a side salad. Kids seemed to like the Gyro pizza. Great first impression. Worth coming back, which I'm sure we will.

Great "fast-food" place to pick up some Greek-styled grub. Samos Greek Island Grill delivers on quick Greek fare thanks to their pita and dips and delicious pita wraps. Their pita is solid as is their hummus. For those spice lovers among us, I recommend you sub-out the mild hummus and sub-in the spicy feta dip- it's both chunky and creamy and packs a subtle kick. The staff does a good job at getting their appetizers out quickly, giving you several minutes to scarf them down before your main dish arrives. As far as main entrees go, I've tried the sliced gyro, roasted chicken, and lamb pita wraps. They are all well-cooked and flavored. The tzatziki sauce that accompanies the pita wraps is tasty and of good texture: not to yogurty/liquidy nor too cucumbery/chunky. In keeping with their name, the decor is island-fresh (in a non-tacky way): a dark sandy brown and a bright, refreshing blue. If you happen to be in Canton and are looking for something good, different, and quick to eat, Samos Greek Island Grill is your place.

Very casual yet yummy! I really like their greek salad and pita wraps. Everything is so fresh!
(4)Yishin S.
It is located in Canton Crossing, so parking is extrememly easy. I am a fan of Samos in the Greek town (the one run by Nicholas), and I found Samos Greek Island Grill to be just as good. The place is clean and spacey, the food comes really fast, and they take credit card (the Samos in Greektown only takes cash). I really like the grilled shrimp and their pita bread is to die for. Yum!
(5)Kristina R.
So I've been to both the original restaurant and now this new location in Canton Crossing. Both are great. This new location is fast, service is good, and the food is comparable to the original location. I ordered a gyro platter and dolmades to-go. The order came out with in 5-10 minutes and I was in my way. The portions were huge. I had enough for two meals. Oh and those greek fries.... Yumm!!! Excited for good greek food so close and so quick!
(4)Jocelyn O.
I love that Samos now has a "fast food" type of place instead of just the sit down restaurant. The service is fast and you get the same quality of food as you would at the restaurant in Greektown. The chicken pita and the Greek fries (fries with feta, lemon juice and spices) are my go to when I come here.
(4)Kimberly T.
I went here for lunch with my brother, my cousin, and her boyfriend. It was a little crowded and I was not sure what to expect besides the food being Greek. You go up to the counter to order, get a number, sit, and they bring you your food. It was a little crowded so my family went up to order as I saved the table and watched our things. I ordered the Grilled Steak Solavaki Platter. This came with roasted veggies, pita, tzatziki sauce, and tomatoes. There was also a greek side salad with dressing and more pita. The steak was flavorful and juicy, even after about 10 minutes of being a little colder it was still delicious. I loved it. I would definitely eat this dish if I return here. I think the pita was the best I have ever had. They are soft, just so soft. I also think I might be swayed by the fact that I haven't had delicious warm bread is over a month. It was pretty good.

A newer look from the old Samos.

Of all Greek food I have eaten (which is only this place) I have to rate it 5 stars just based off the service and the deliciousness of the food
(5)Kirk S.
Samos is like watching a little kid do karate. You admire the effort, but no-one's ass is being kicked any time soon. Samos Greek Island Grill is a small grill in the Canton Industrial area that does gyro platters and other forms of quick Greek-ish food. They lean heavily into gyro meats, which is exactly what they should do, and a welcome entry into Baltimore (which is sorely lacking such restaurants). Problem is, Samos Greek Island Grill is just kinda bland. I got a gyro platter, which was not only resoundingly bland, but was loaded with cheap-y french fries and an overwhelmingly mediocre salad. Though I was absolutely starving at the time, the food just didn't hit the spot - it was missing all the spices that make food like this amazing. While the gyro meat was clearly well cooked, and while I'm sure it's absolutely delectable when eaten with a sauce on an actual gyro, the platter just left me wanting more. If you do eat here, I'd recommend the actual gyros - I suspect the seasoning is better on those.

Samos made good on the service provided. I am back to getting my Greek salads from Samos.

Echoing the large majority of the recent and vetted reviews, HALLELUJAH! Another Samos, and one that boasts quick-service, a contemporary vibe, all of the flavors of the Greektown (original Samos), oh, and they take credit cards! As opposed to waiter service at the classic Samos, the Samos Island Grill is the type of fast-casual establishment where you place your order at the counter, serve yourself your fountain drink, and take your number to a table, where your food is brought to you as it is ready. We visited prior to the big weekend lunch rush, so we didn't experience any service slowness issues, but I can see how with not enough food runners and bussers, food delivery and table upkeep could become an issue during busier times. Sit tight, they're efficient, your food will arrive. We ordered a pretty wide smorgasbord of options as we do when "testing out" a Greek spot to see if it matches up to my husband's Greek mama's cooking. Most everything passed the test with flying colors! - Avgolemono Soup : delicious, but not served piping hot, could have used some additional lemon flavor - Vegetarian dolmades: more satisfying than the ones we had at original Samos, still lacked the awesomeness of a meat-stuffed dolma - Taramasalata : fantastic eggplant dip, great change from hummus, pita was a little thick, but was well-toasted and fresh - Neptune Salad: fantastic grilled shrimp salad with mixed greens, fresh veggies, olives, tasty feta, and a delicious housemade dressing (same dressing as original Samos) - Chicken Souvlaki Pita : just as great as you'd want one to be; tzatziki was spot-on Inexpensive for the quantity, service, and quality. Samos Island Grill is a great addition to the family, and we will definitely be back on our roadtrips through the area!

Let's start off with saying that I can't get enough of this place. If you're ever nearby, visit! You get your food quick and you feel as if you're getting a healthy meal. The Samos Special Salad with chicken is my favorite dish. Their pita bread is so yummy - I could probably eat a pile of it in one sitting! Their Greek fries are also a must have. I'm not even ashamed to admit I typed this up while eating here...
(5)Matt H.
Went in for lunch with coworkers. Ordered a grilled chicken salad, not very much chicken came with it (only one skewer of chicken pieces) and a side of fries with a drink. Ended up around $15. Outside of the chicken, the service could have been better. One of the cashiers was standing behind the counter looking at the line of people but didn't ask to take anyone's order. I'd steer clear between 1130 and 1, if you have to grab a quick lunch, but if you have time then this could be an option. As for food options, my coworkers both had gyros and said they were great. I think they had at least 5 different salad options as well. Oh and the bread/pita they give you on the side was delicious.

First off I love how quick this is! I also enjoy that there is ample outdoor seating and they bring you your food (great for a dog owner). The prices are very reasonable and everything I have tried I have loved. It's also extremely consistent which is always a plus. If you are looking for a quick, affordable and healthier meal this fits the bill. Recommendations: -Greek Salad -Chicken pita -Lamp pita ^awesome tzatziki sauce
(5)Milli D.
I absolutely loved this place! The greek salad is a must here, fresh and refreshing, it comes with every meal. I ordered the lamb plate, despite being a little hesitant since I am picky of the way I like lamb cooked. This place exceeded my expectations, the lamb was delicious! Will definitely have to come back.

I can't believe it took me so long to try the food here! We came here for dinner for my fiance's birthday and were super pleased. I like the fast ordering and thought the service was quite efficient. We ordered the hummus to start and really loved the hummus and pita bread! I ordered the chicken gyro. So delicious! I'm not big on condiments, but I really liked the tzatziki sauce. Next time I would probably get it on the side, but it was really tasty. My fiancé and I split the baklava for dessert. I had baklava once and wasn't impressed, but really liked this! It was sweet and flakey and full of cinnamon! Good stuff. The price was great for the quality of food and speed of service. We will definitely return!

This is my go-to spot for Greek food in Baltimore. I have been all over, and this is my favorite. I have been told they have the best Spanikopita. The Greek Salad with chicken is a perfect portion. Their dressing is excellent. The service is fast and that's exactly what I'm looking for when I'm hungry. The tzaziki is perfect. I love the dolmades and order them every time i go. There are four amazingly huge and tasty wrapped grape leaves in one portion. I have ordered the Island salad and while I do love shrimp-- there weren't enough on there to satisfy me, but they were perfectly prepared. Even the octopus was great. My only complaint? It closes at 6pm on Sundays!
(5)Ryan B.
I had a pretty decent, and fairly average lunch at Samos. You order at the counter, and when your food is ready, a server will bring it to your table. I had a gyro, which felt less greasy and of a higher quality than what I would get from a halal cart on the street, but I wouldn't say this gyro was fantastic. The tzatziki sauce, onions, and tomatoes on my gyro all were very fresh. I also ordered the hummus and pita, which was your standard, run-of-the-mill plain hummus--nothing too special--and it was a bit smaller than I expected it would be. I'd come back here, but it won't be my go-to place for Greek food.
(3)Emma H.
Great lunch spot when running errands in the Canton area. We both ordered gyros, and got greek fries as well. My boyfriend commented that the fries could use more lemon, but I enjoyed them as is. The food was fresh and well priced! We went after the lunch rush so the tables were a bit messy, but not a big deal overall. I would definitely go back!
(4)Latasha H.
The Greek Fries? Yum yum! Nice atmosphere, too.

Samos is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Baltimore so when I heard that Samos was planning to open a new restaurant soon, of course I had to a make a trip over. The Greek Island Grill is located in the new Canton Crossing shopping center located maybe five minutes away from the original location. And while the original restaurant was very homey, the new restaurant is decidedly modern with a wonderful brown and aquamarine blue-ish theme. It also isn't your traditional sit-down restaurant, instead opting for the "fast-casual" model; it operates similarly to Pei Wei Asian Diner where you place your order and pay at the counter. You then receive a placard with a number that you take to your table. Servers bring over the food to you when it's ready. The menu here is smaller than the original Samos' menu but all the beloved items (spreads, salads, gyros/souvlakis) are still here. They taste exactly the same too! The only difference is that they are about 25 to 50 cents more expensive here. The gyro is $6.25 but still filled to the brim with amazing goodness. However, keep in mind that, unlike the original location, you can pay with a credit card! On the other hand, if you want the bigger entries found at the original Samos... go to the original Samos. Since it's more casual restaurant, you'll won't have to wait as long for people to eat their food here... making it a great place for a quick lunch or dinner. It also seems to have alleviated some of the traffic at the original restaurant; when I went recently during lunch, it didn't seem as crowded as I usually remember it. Anyways, Samos Greek Island Grill is a great concept and I could totally see it being successful in other parts of Baltimore too (hey Mt. Vernon/Station North --here I live--could use one... just saying).
(5)Camille A.
This place is like the Panera Bread of Greek Food. The food is good, they use good ingredients, they barely feed you and its expensive. I think their flat bread or whatever you call it is amazing. I most come just for that. their greek salad is amazing as well.
(4)Samantha G.
The original Samos is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore, so I had high hopes for the Greek Island Grill, the fast-foody version. I was happy to see all my favorites on the menu and settled with a Greek salad and spanikopita. My boyfriend had the chicken pita wrap. My food came out right away (the side salad is very small) and his took a little while, but everything was hot and delicious. The pita did not seem as fresh and buttery as the pita in the original Samos, and the dressing seemed slightly different, but other than that, it is pretty close to the real deal. Great place for a quick, lovely, authentic Greek lunch! Too bad it's so close to the original though. If I'm in Canton, I'm probably headed to Greektown if I want Greek food. Samos Greek Island Grill should open elsewhere in the city, like Mt. Vernon!
(4)Kris L.
ANOTHER SAMOS?!? I am in heaven!! Changes from the original: 1. Less wait time (but yes it was still crowded on a Saturday night) 2. Clean (!!) 3. Prices are approx 25 to 50 cents more expensive depending on what you order 4. Super friendly staff (no one yells at you!) 5. You can pay with credit card! Otherwise the flavors of my chicken pita were SPOT ON compared to the original Samos. Will def be returning here quickly and frequently!
(5)Stephanie I.
Love Samos! I'm so glad that they opened this location. They finally accept credit cards! I tried it opening week and was not disappointed. I ordered the chicken kabob platter and the chicken soup. The platter came with one kabob and was extremely flavorful. The side of rice really good too. It is mixed with fresh dill. I'm obsessed with their Greek dressing for the side salad. I could eat that everyday. I ordered my food to go and it only took about 10 minutes at the most. The only thing I do wish was that the chicken soup had more of a lemon flavor to it. It was good but I've had better. The menu is pretty large and you can get all of the popular stuff. It seems a tad pricey but you do get a lot of food. It's fresh, fast, and so good that I am sure no one will have a problem with the prices.
(4)Brandon H.
This may be 5 stars if I wasn't spoiled and used to going to the original Samos. The food is good here but after getting my older I cant help but say to myself "Come on man!!!" Why is the platter only one skewer of meat? Why is my Hummus a smaller portion and pale's in comparison to the original Samo's hummus. This makes no sense. I paid the same amount here as I would at the original location and received a lot less. Don't get me wrong... if you're in Canton Square this is definitely a place you should go, but don't cheat yourself. If you're looking for the REAL Samos experience take the time to go to the location on Oldham. I don't know the story of this location... but I'm hoping this review will help make a change.
(3)Christopher N.
This place is fantastic--one of the best counter service places I've been to in Baltimore. If you've been to the actual Samos in Greektown, this restaurant is owned by the son of the guy who owns the real Samos. Both of them are phenomenal restaurants for what they are. Samos Greek Island Grill feels pretty casual when you walk in and it would be easy to think it's a chain restaurant based on the decor. My girlfriend and I have been there twice, and the last time we were there (last week) we ordered a lamb pita wrap, a gyro pita wrap, an order of calamari, and a plate of Greek fries. Despite our server calling it a "guy-roh", everything was absolutely excellent. The Greek fries in particular are really stellar--they're perfectly cooked with generous amounts of feta cheese and sprinkled with lemon juice (and maybe some other things). I could eat them all day. Our meal ended up being around $25-30 after tax and tip which I felt was pretty fair considering the amount of food we got and how amazing it was. We will definitely be going back.
(5)Andy B.
Fast casual wonderfulness! I had the chicken souvlaki platter, which was quite generous, and the chicken was tender and juicy, prepared in that classic Greek way we all love. I had to withhold a star since my Greek Fries (fries with feta) came out cold, and the place was too busy for me to even think about asking for fresh fries. That aside, it's worth checking out. (If you're going at noontime, bring a friend to stake out a table -- it gets busy!)

Came in on opening night hoping to get the first review, but it looks like there were a few other yelpers in the building. I was anticipating trying the newest creation from the Baltimore Greek staple, Samos. Samos Greek Island Grill is the fast casual spin-off. They use the walk up, order, sit down approach similar to chains like Pei Wei. The prices for the dishes are about what you'd expect from such a place, and they take credit cards (the original famously did not). The decor is also on par with what you'd expect from such a spot (similar to Chipotle, but with a blue and granite theme). I had the Gyro platter which very good. It came with a salad and a side of my choice. I got the Greek fries (see my picture in the venue photos). It was tasty, but not the best I've ever had. It is, after all, a fast casual restaurant. The salad was good as well. I believe Samos is world famous for their dressing as well, and this one was good. I think they actually provided too much for the portion. The Greek fries were good too. I ate nearly every spec of food on the plate. So, in summary, it was very good, and I'd definitely return. Check out Samos Greek Island Grill if you're looking for some good Greek food and don't feel like waiting 2+ hours for a table (at the original). 4 stars for good food, decor, and cool new concept.
(4)Matt M.
We just tried this place after figuring out that it was from the same people that run Samos in Greektown which is some of the best Greek food you'll find. The menu isn't as big as the original Samos, but they have the main dishes you're probably looking for. We tried the shrimp and halloumi small plate, the gyro pita wrap, and the vegetarian moussaka. Everything was delicious. 5 stars for the food. Our only complaint, and it's a very minor one, is that the small plates and the entrees seemed a little on the expensive side, but in the end the food is really good, so I guess you get what you pay for. The gyro, however, was a great deal as it was packed with lamb and could easily make a meal for $6.50. Glad to have an awesome Greek option closer to home and I think this will become one of our go-tos for take-out gyros.
(4)Joanna R.
Had a chicken pita wrap. Very good flavors! Will be back to try more on the menu. No sides compliment the pita. It was filling but if you require more you may want to add one of the dips or some fries.
(4)Ashley P.
Stopped in on a recent Harris Teeter trip because I knew I was too tired to cook when I got home. I am so glad I did. I got the chicken pita to go and it was ready in minutes. The price was great and the chicken was if good quality. The pita was warm and delicious. It was the perfect small dinner. I can't wait to go back and try other things especially the Greek fries that look delicious. The only reason for 4 stars was just how limited my experience was, once I go back and try more I'm sure I will be able to up date to five stars.

Came here last night with friends and it was awesome! Since it's in the Canton industrial area, there is plenty of parking and the environment was bustling. There was a decent line in front of us, but it moved quickly and our order was in in just a few minutes. We opted for outside seating since it was a gorgeous day, and it was absolutely lovely! Our food came out quickly and it was delicious. I got the gyro pita wrap: pita was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. As other Yelpers have stated, it was FILLED with tomatoes, cucumbers, Tzatziki sauce, and most importantly: GYRO! There was so much meat, I was so happy. So worth it! Tl;dr: great location, lots of parking, quick service, delicious food!! Definitely coming back!
(5)Teresa A.
Nothing but good things to say about this place... The gyro was great! The greek fries are great (soft seasoned feta on seasoned fries, yes it is simple like other yelpers said, but I loved it)! Ok one bad thing... since it is starting to get cold... I am observing that their may not be enough tables inside to compensate for the large crowds that are bound to come through this place. If you live in the area like I do, I would suggest to be prepared to take it home with you. Also like others had said, it is a walk up and order place, they give you a number and you grab a seat. A very casual, yet hip place... very different from the original, which people are saying is a downside, but in reality, it is super smart! They are making food for the masses now, where else can you get a quick gyro in the city? I will be coming back here often!

Solid addition to the Canton Indus. area, its like you traveled to a Greek Island without leaving the zip code. Samos is semi-fast food joint that offers good Greek food and at a reasonable price. What is there NOT to like!! The menu is differant than some of the other Samos, so make sure you check the right now... otherwise your that guy who steps up orders and then is told, sorry sir that doesnt exist... thats me.. lol Once you make your decision on what to order, you take a number, sit down and wait for the food. You stomach is screaming at you because with each breath you inhale a great mix of spices and smells primes your taste buds. We ordered a standard Greek salad and a grilled chicken pita... lets start with the salad. Really nice portion and nice layer of feta on top. You can ask for the dressing on the side or all on top, and they supply you with a decent amount which is nice to see. So props for the salad. Next up, grilled chicken pita... your thinking this is like any other chicken pita I have had soggy, tasteless and just too dry and bready... wrong... Samos does a killer job of giveing you enough sauce to cover the dryness but not too much were you are wearing more of your chicken pita than eating it. The flavor is also top notch, not sure what they do, but grilling the pita def. helps and the chicken is tender, juicey and flarvorful by its self, so hooray for the chicken pita!! So overall, a great exp. from the solid salad to the outstanding chicken pita, Samos is a place I will be back at... So book your flight and pack your bags Samos gives you a taste of the island life without leaving your zip code.

FOOD: Compared to the Greektown Samos, sorry to say, the food just isn't as good. The portion size of the grilled octopus was two tentacles. TWO TENTACLES for 11.25!! WHAT?? I seriously thought I was getting jipped. The soup was salty and the roasted veggies were very oily. I can not at all say this place was as good or generously portioned at Samos/Greektown. I do love their pitas though at both places. SERVICE: WAAAAYYYY BETTER THAN Samos/Greektown. The original restaurant only takes cash, is slow, and they are just mean and rude there. This place was way better and the staff are really cool. AMBIANCE: Upscale fast food. Think Chipotle for Greek food. I liked the fact that they were quick. The original Samos is soooo slow. RETURN: Sure, if I am in Canton Crossing. RECOMMEND: Yes, but prepare to pay a lot to actually get enough food to fill you.

Overall, a great place to come for a quick and casual lunch or dinner. The place is clean, and despite it being counter service, the service is impeccable. I usually order their gyro pita, which is delicious. The sauce they use is flavorful and their pita is perfectly toasted. Some of my friends have gotten the platter, which I'm not quite sure is worth the cost. They only give you one skewer, and overall the portions aren't that big. If you do get the platter, would recommend the rice. The fries are pretty decent as well.
(4)Erica J.
Visited for lunch. Ordered to Lamb Kofta small plate. Very good taste and perfect portion size. Did not feel sluggish or fatigued after the meal at work. Good stuff. Really wish that I would have tried the baklava. Modernized, trendy atmosphere.
(4)Casey P.
Samos is my favorite place in Canton. The service is consistently friendly and quick, and the food is delicious. I have never ordered something I didn't like there. They use high quality, fresh ingredients. This is the place to go if you want an authentic Greek meal that's convenient and reasonably priced. I recommended the grilled chicken souvlaki platter or the Samos Special Salad because the chicken is seasoned to perfection, but you really cannot go wrong with anything!
(5)Michelle W.
This is amazing Greek food, but packaged up in a fast-food store. The place is no frills: you order at a counter and the food comes out quick. There are seats and the place seems clean. It sort of has the feel of Chipotle, but man, the food is anything but. It's really solid! I had both the gyro and lamb gyro. Both were amazing! Very flavorful and for the most part the lamb was very tender.
(5)Cori A. R.
Small space however great service! Food was good. I had the chicken platter with a Greek salad and roasted potatoes! Would definitely come back. Yummy! A lot of people are in here for it to be a Sunday afternoon.
(4)Tunaidi A.
The new Samos packs a different feel and style than the original. I'd label it as a gourmet fast-food restaurant. The food is great and definitely hits the spot when you're craving Greek, but it's going to taste a little different from a mom and pop restaurant. With that context, the menu includes all the staples and more, from gyros to salad varieties, spanikopita, grilled octopus, baklava, and even galaktoboureko. It's cool to see this joint also sport a kid's menu. Samos's interior is really clean, and there's both outdoor seating and indoor seating. Parking is plentiful in Canton Crossing. It may seem busy at times, but orders come out quick; thus, turnover is quick. Another plus is that this location recently open up shop on Sundays as well.
(4)Esther L.
I love the Samos Restaurant on Oldham St, and I absolutely love that they opened another location on Boston St. The food is still great. I usually get a Gyro Platter or a Gyro PIta when I go. This location is more "fast-foody" than the restaurant version, and definitely doesn't feel as homey. But other than that--I can't complain about anything! Great food at a great price, what more can I ask for??
(5)Christine K.
Delicious!! the hummus is light and airy, more veggie-based. The pita was warm and moist and just perfect. Greek salad was fresh. The steak platter was mostly roasted veggies (yum!), one skewer of steak, and a little bit of pita. The pita wraps are topped with tomatoes, tzaziki, and onion on the same pita that comes with everything else. Wish this place was closer, I could eat here everyday. Perfect for quick, delicious and fresh Greek food without having to trek over to Greektown and wait in the neverending line at the original Samos.
(5)Laurel S.
I like this place a lot. The grilled lamb is delicious and I love the tzatziki sauce. I'm inventing reasons to go to target so I can go here too.
(5)Nicole E.
I was SO excited for Samos takeout, but it's just not the same. I ordered the roasted potatoes with my chicken soulvaki platter, and they were so greasy that my pita was soaked by the time I got home. The chicken was dry and flavorless. Although also well-done, the BF did enjoy the steak soulvaki platter. He ordered it with french fries so he did not have the same grease-overload problem. The salad was good, but the dressing was much sweeter than the table-side at the original. I think I will stick with the tried and true original. Sad face.
(3)Nayoung L.
I went back for a few more times after my last review. I feel like their food has improved and price came down a bit. You can get a delicious gyro wrap for under $6. Keep it up Samos!
(4)Justin K.
After reading some of the reviews, I am a little confused about the "poor value" found at Samos. Or the food being too expensive. For $6 I got a big gyro that was flavorful and all the vegies and sauce tasted very fresh. The gyro at Samos would definitely run you 10 bucks anywhere else. We also had the greek fries, the spanakopita and the olive tapenade. Oh and a chicken soup, it was cold and rainy. We had all this food for under $30. It was a lot of food too. My eyes were definitely bigger then my stomach on this evening. Everything was pretty tasty and the fries had a TON of feta cheese on it (I heart feta cheese). If I had one complaint it would be that there was balsamic vinegar on the olive tapenade. Sort of a strange taste with the olives, but otherwise delicious. I will definitely be coming back as I would like to run the gambit through their menu!
(4)S M.
Food was great, but a bit pricey. Service was ok, I've never seen so many people working in one place and not one of them smiling.
(4)Crystal W.
I've tried Samos Restaurant on Oldham. So I figured I'd try this place. It's new in the Industrial section of Canton. Really beautiful decor. Fast service. I ordered the gyro wrap. It was delicious and very filling. Place was pretty empty considering it was mid afternoon. But that meant our good arrived fast. My 10 y.o. got the chicken nuggets and there were impressive. They were hand battered chicken breast chunks. He really enjoyed the food. Will definitely come back. The gyro wrap was one of the best I've ever had.
(5)Harper K.
The Samos Greek salad with chicken has quickly become my favorite go-to meal. The feta cheese is THE freshest and flavorful I've ever had. Even my fiance, who hates feta, admitted that he liked it after I raved about it so much and made him try a bite. The salad dressing is also a winner. A++!
(5)Meg B.
My husband and I made this our first foray into Greek food after debating it for awhile every time we passed this place in the Canton Crossing area. I'm so glad we did! I've never been to their other restaurant on Oldham Street but this place is great. It's not the fanciest, I'd liken it to a Qdoba or another fast casual restaurant in atmosphere, but the food is fantastic. We've tried the hummus, the Greek fries (French fries typed with crumbled feta cheese and lemon juice--awesomely good), the sliced gyro pita wrap and the grilled lamb pita wrap over the course of our now three visits. Pita wraps come with the meat you choose, a chopped onions and tomatoes mixture, and tzatziki sauce, but they'll adjust toppings to your liking. Everything is very fresh and flavorful, portions are very good, and the price is right. I'm hooked, Samos.
(5)Cam B.
Amazing food! I ordered the lamb skewers which were cooked to perfection. The humus was unique and delicious. Will be coming back for more.
(5)Laura C.
Samos is great for both carry out and dine in. They are quick and the portions are very generous. Everything is delicious and fresh. I have eaten here several times and have yet to have a bad meal.
(5)Eng P.
Interesting spot. I've never tried their original restaurant, but this new iteration is good. I had the corn chowder with jalapeños soup and the salad with lamb. The corn chowder soup was really good. Fresh jalapeños that you can see and taste. The lamb salad was good, but for the price I needed more lamb kabob. Nevertheless, the ingredients were fresh and good. Please fix your pepper shakers, though, as I had a very hard time getting pepper our of them. Overall, good food, just a bit pricey for the amount you get.
(4)Den F.
I like this location because there is ample parking. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to pick up some lunch. In the future, I would probably call ahead because I waited about 20 minutes to get my food. Ordered the grilled octopus to start, which was okay - flavor was subtle but good, but the octopus did not taste very fresh. I ordered the Samo's special salad with grilled chicken. Salad was fine, with their famous pink dressing which is always a plus. Large servings of vegetables and feta cheese. Chicken was dry and rather flavorless though. Served with some pita bread, which is always yummy, especially when served warm. Hubby ordered the gyros, which looked delicious - they were loaded and he says that they were pretty good. I think from now on, I will stick with the gyros.
(3)Emily F.
Food was awesome. I got the lamb koftas and I'd highly recommend it, great flavor and not at all dry. My only complaint is the wait. I ordered right away but it took 25 minutes to get our food when its supposed to be an order at the counter fast casual restaurant.
(4)Tom V.
Really really good food. The service is likewise very good. It's one of the rare places you can out and not break a diet. The food is fresh and authentic. Portions are generous. The price is certainly above average, but you do get what you pay for. I would recommend and will continue to repeat.
(4)Rachel K.
I call this place Samos 2. The original Samos is like a Greek grandma cooking for you with love. This place is like the son with all the recipes just making sure the food goes out asap. You can taste the difference. Do yourself a favor and go to the original Samos on Oldham Rd. Skip this place all together. I will say, however, that the place is very clean and the staff is always friendly.
(3)Samantha C.
LOVE LOVE LOVE their gyros. So fresh! The Greek fries are amazing, and I don't even like french fries. I've heard even better things about the original Samos, but haven't had a chance to visit that location yet.
(4)Jo F.
Let's just say Samos Greek Island Grill is to Greek food what Chipotle is to Mexican food.
(3)Kojo B.
Samos second location is newly opened in the Canton Industrial Outlet on Boston Street. The menu are more short order oriented where you can get your gyro's, souvlaki's etc and some new items. It is a nice spot to grab something on the go or pick up an order or sit down if the sister location is cramped, all in all it's a nice welcome addition.
(5)Eileen H.
Samos is the quick-service counterpart of the Greektown restaurant, and my God is it delicious. A tad expensive for a quick meal, but the choices are plentiful and the result is mouth-watering. I go back whenever I can
(5)C L.
Clean with tasty fresh food at good prices. I had the the Greek salad with lamb skewer. The staff was professional and no nonsense
(4)Susie K.
Samos has good gyro and tzatziki. I got the gyro greek salad and the portion was huge. The Greek fries with feta is soo good and addicting. Lots of flavor and lots of feta. The set up reminds me of Lebanese Taverna. Open seating, you get a number on your table, and someone brings the food out to you.
(4)Allison K.
My boyfriend and I been for the first time a few weeks ago. I don't know why we didn't go sooner this place is great! Recently went again last night and it's constantly good. I've gotten the chicken gyro both times while he has gotten the lamb. The meet is always juicy and has so much flavor. Also can't beat the price two gyros and a drink for around 15 bucks. So filling too! We will definitely be back more often to try other things. If your looking for a good gyro this is the place to go!
(5)Alice H.
This place has all my favorite dishes without the hassle of cash only. I ordered the lamb pita wrap, which is what I usually get, and it was just like the one at the original Samos. The pita bread and lamb chunks were just the way I like them. My friend also ordered the lamb pita wrap and noted how well flavored it was. She typically doesn't go for lamb but she really enjoyed it. We also got the baklava, which is not something I typically order here. It was served to us warm, and while the first bites were great, we did notice a bitter aftertaste over time, which may just be a natural result of the nuts. We also both bit into something that tasted like peppercorn, which I was not expecting from baklava. Not sure if I would get it again, but it was also my first time ordering it from Samos. Nevertheless, I'm still a fan of the place, and I would definitely come back for the pita wraps, salads, and spreads. The location itself is pretty awesome. I like the casual feel, quick service, and modern design. I'll definitely be back.
(5)Josh G.
Everyone talks about the original Samos location, but I found their new quick service location to be fine. It's set up so that you can order at the counter and then someone brings you your food, but there's no one who waits on you. Basically, a similar concept as Noodles & Company, for example. The food selection was fine, primarily comprising Greek spreads and appetizers, salads, soups, wraps and some other lighter portion sized offerings. There are even a few items on a kids menu. We had the hummus spread with grilled pita, a chicken wrap, and a gyro. The appetizer/spread was good though it could have been slightly more generous. The chicken wrap and gyro were also tasty and didn't take too long to arrive at our table. The atmosphere is casual and fairly modern and the prices are fair, pretty on par with any other casual dine-in option. It was about 20 dollars for an appetizer and two entrée wraps, which wasn't bad. Overall, I'd certainly return for a quick carryout or casual bite to eat.
(4)Cody C.
Excellent Greek food with the closest authenticity I've ever had in a fast casual environment to the real thing. Everything is pretty quick and the tzatziki is fantastic! Recommend any gyro (they call they pita wraps so people stop arguing over the pronunciation) or their special salad. If you like Greek food, you'll like this.
(4)Deborah G.
Gave this junior version of the original Samos a second chance to see if it has improved since March. The verdict is yes but with some exceptions. The salad greens were not as fresh as what is served at the original Samos. However, the dressing was better and did not have the bitter taste. My pita pocket was stuffed with fresh tomatoes and perfectly grilled well seasoned chicken. The tzatziki sauce was served on the side and was cold, tasty and fresh. I ate every bit of it on my sandwich and was totally filled when I finished the last bite. My husband had the shrimp and feta pie for his lunch and gave it a thumbs up and said that it was the same as he enjoys at Samos on Oldham. We filled up on water and fresh iced tea and felt that this was a good Sunday Samos lunch. Quick, tasty and promptly delivered to our table by a server. I give this location an extra star for better parking (and the Harris Teeter for our post lunch shopping) and that it accepts credit cards. We will return for another tasty lunch.
(4)Katherine M.
Fantastic chicken souvlaki that's juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Their calamari is served piping hot, perfectly fried and seasoned just right- truly to die for!!! The portion sizes are very generous (salads and entrees could easily feed 2 or 3 people) and you definitely get the most bang for your buck. Must try if you're in the Baltimore area!
(5)Vicky D.
As a big fan of the original Samos, I was pretty excited that they were opening a "fast food" type joint in the new Canton Crossing. We were in the mood for something healthy but filling, and it was beautiful outside so we wanted outdoor seating. BOOM! Samos Greek Island Grill delivered. We shared the greek fries which were awesome, but you definitely want a fork to be able to grab some fresh herbed feta with the fries (otherwise it just falls off). I had a chicken pita wrap which was amazingly moist for chicken breast. The toppings were plentiful and everything tasted fresh. Also, I noticed that their menu items range from $3.95 to a kabob/skewer to about $16 for a seafood platter. The menu is simple but still has a lot of variety and the fresh flavors are definitely a win!
(5)Geoff c.
A chip off the ol' block. In a good way. I was passing through Baltimore on a Sunday. A bit bummed that Samos was closed on Sundays. But lo and behold.. Samos Jr! The food is great. On par with the original Samos. But a completely different feel to the restaurant. It's more of a modern quick bite compared to the traditionally decorated sit down of Samos. Got my usual gyro and hummus platter. Still tastes great. The menu is not as extensive as the original Samos, but I guess that's what you get when they go with the order at the counter style. Prices are still reasonable. A bit more than what I remember at the original Samos, but I haven't been there in a few years, so maybe those prices have gone up a bit too.
(5)Merr A.
Samos is great fast casual option. The food is higher priced than you would find at comparable restaurants, but in general you're not paying a tip so it evens out. You also won't find the extensive menu of the original Samos, but it's a small price to pay for the quick service. The vegetarian pita wrap is a solid option and is loaded to the brim with feta and fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. The other pita wraps come with large portions of meat. You definitely get your money's worth. As an added plus, the restaurant is squeaky clean. Hopefully they can stay that way long term.
(5)Meatdowntown C.
Skip the scallops appetizers. It is a rip off and more than that... there is absolutely nothing spectacular about it. Stick to the shrimp haloumi if you want a small plate.
(3)Keith W.
Utterly disappointed!!!! I live blocks away from the original Samos but did not have expectations that it would be the same experience. Samos GIG is fast food greek and it sure tasted like it. My spanakopita was mushy and not even properly warmed. My lamb wrap was flavorless and the ingredients were not fresh. The lamb was cooked well but it was offset by the poor tomatoes and other ingredients. The grape leaves were soggy and flavorless. Strangely the floor was disgusting and it appeared to not be mopped or broomed the entire day and was extremely off-putting. My advice: if you want fast food Greek then get GreekTown Grill...if you want authentic Greek food then go to the original Samos. Sad!
(2)Sonya A.
Smaller menu but still has all the staples I usually order... Carry out looks painless.. Service for sit down was on point. I'm still in feta cheese overload ;) which is a good thing! The Greek fries were good- I think the Greek potatoes are more my style..The appetizers were a little on the small side... Not feeling the red pepper in my hummus- but nonetheless - delish. My baklava to go was a little harder than I'm used to. I'll be back.
(4)Row S.
Have been a loyal patron of the original location, but this one is awesome too! I always get takeout, so can't really review much else, but the staff is always polite, friendly and efficient. The food Is awesome. Best Greek dressing around for sure. You won't be dissapointed.
(5)Drew M.
We had the Greek salad and gyro, super yummy!!!
(5)Omar A.
Great food. We got the gyro platter and the salad was excellant. Also portions were good size. Highly reccomend. Parking is good and they also take credit cards.
(4)Smarie B.
I had lunch at Samos yesterday for the first time. I don't eat out much due to the fact that I'm often disappointed, but I must say, I was blown away by the food I ordered!!! It was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken skewer platter, which was around $12.00. The portion size was great. The platter included a Greek salad, chicken skewers on rice pilaf, pita wedges and tzatziki sauce. Man this place is awesome! Every thing seemed so fresh, which is always a plus. I just wish they were closer to my home ;(
(5)Meagan T.
I've changed my review of this place mostly because of the high level of customer service provided by Mike, the owner. I came here thinking this restaurant was going to be the same version of their original location in Highlandtown. If that is what you are looking for, this is not the place for you. This location is set up more like a cafeteria, and while they offer similar menus, the atmosphere is completely different-- you order at the counter, take a number, get your own fountain soda and then eat in or carry out-- similar to a fast food restaurant. Mike informed me that this concept was set up to provide locals with the Samos food we all know, but in a manner that was faster and more conducive to carry out. The place definitely succeeds in their endeavor. Admittedly, the octopus I ordered on the night I went was a bit tough, but not only did they reimburse us for the cost, Mike personally reached out to apologize and let me know they had an off night. Everything else that we had we had was fresh and flavorful and the portions were healthy. The price was extremely reasonable. The place itself is beautiful inside and well appointed. While I am most likely to deal with the wait in order to enjoy the ambiance of the original location, now that I understand the concept of this Samos, I think they hit the mark. This is a great place for business lunches, a quick bite while shopping or family dinners for customers with young children who might not sit through an entire meal service.
(4)Victor M.
everyone there was super friendly and helpful.. their food is moderately priced & the service is great!!!
(5)Matthew L.
I wanted to wait until I ate here a few times to see how I felt. The food is comparable to the other location. It feels a little strange in that it has more of a deli feel to it. It is just as crowded as the other location as of now. Service is a bit slow considering it is semi fast food. The other thing I was a bit surprised at is prices are a bit higher than the other Samos. No tip so you are still cheaper, but a pit pricey for a deli. The one new dish to try are the salads. Interesting take on a greek salad.
(3)Amanda D.
The food here is amazing, but carry out takes a little long to get.
(3)Patrick B.
Went to this place since it was new in Canton Crossing. I a bit after the lunch crowd say 130. The place was filled with a steady crowd but there was plent of room to sit down and it did not feel cramped. Now lets talk about the food. It's an absolute horrible value for what you are getting. A simple salad, low quality lamb meat, and small portion. I had the sliced gyro and it was just ok. Not much meat and the pita wrap is WAY to thick for the contents. Granted the food is good but it is over priced. Samos is for the quick bite during lunch. I would never recommend this place for any other meal other than lunch or to take friends, family, or clients too. Your best bet for good Greek food is head up the road to Greektown and try out the restuarnts there.
(2)Peter J.
Awesome food! Nice staff. The parking in the area is kind of bad though.
(4)Christian H.
Great quick casual place, good value. Amazing food. Good service. Standouts include Chicken kabobs, gyros, spanakopita. Best place in canton crossing.
(5)Jane C.
This is a great spot. Great salads and pitas. Nice presentation Great service. Parking is easy. The Island Salad is my favorite. Would be my go-to place if I lived nearby.
(5)Yolanda S.
I have never been to original Samos in Greektown, so I can't compare. But I had lunch here today and really enjoyed it. Our party ordered the roasted vegetables, spanakopita, Greek salad with lamb, and fries that we shared, a kids chicken souvlaki meal for the little one in our party. The food was good, was served pretty quickly, and we really enjoyed everything. There was a great balance of flavors in all of the food and nothing was too salty or cheesy, which has been my experience with he last couple of Greek restaurants I have visited. I cannot wait to go back and try some other menu selections.
(4)Craig G.
This place is amazing. The greek salad is the best I have ever had. Add the grilled chicken, which is delicious. Their pita wraps are great as well. I love this place; very clean and friendly staff. The prices are not bad and the food is well worth it. I work in the area on Saturdays and look forward to lunch here every week. Definitely try it out if you haven't already.
(5)Apple S.
One of the Best!!! Neighborhood fave :)
(5)Katie S.
Really, really love Samos but can't believe they close at 6 on Sundays! They have locked the door in our face twice. Wish they would change this!
(4)Vardo N.
Subsequent visits proved this a winner. Despite the cold modern décor, this place has become the popular busy place its food quality deserves. Every meal has been delicious and reasonably priced. Staff are helpful and polite. This is an excellent quick-service alternative to the chain eateries elsewhere at this booming Target-anchored strip mall. Kudos!
(4)George M.
This visit was mid-February but more than deserves a review. To start with it is usually busy but food was quick despite not being fast food quality. The girls at the counter were very pleasant and helpful with the menu. We ordered the tzatziki spread, greek salad, calamari, gyro and the greek fries. The tzatziki came with nice warm pita bread and spears of cucumber to dip, wonderful dish. The calamari was nice and lightly breaded with a nice dipping sauce. Greek salad was excellent with a good amount of feta and their dressing is quite pleasing. Gyro was full of meat and tasted great. The Greek fries were amazing, nice and hot, crisp covered with feta and vinegar. Never had fries like these and I will experience them again. Like I mentioned the place is usually busy, but the service is quick and thoughtful. I prefer this location over the original especially when it comes to overall feel, parking and ability to use a card for payment. The original does allow BYOB though, I do not believe this one does.
(5)Rahsaan L.
By far one of the best places for lunch in Baltimore. The food is fresh, colorful, and the flavors are intense. They need to open up more locations pronto. Definitely stop by.
(4)Robert L.
The original Samos definitely has a warmer feel, and authenticity to it, but Samos Island Grill is a very close second as far as quality Greek food! Their menu is slightly different, but for the most part everything you want they have. A few things I miss from the main Samos are non-vegetarian moussaka and dolmades. Having a baby it is definitely easier to get into Samos Island Grill, and it is faster. Very easy to get take out as well. I've been here 4 times since they opened, and I will return many more times! If you have the time to wait for a table and have cash to pay for dinner, I still recommend the original Samos, but this one is fantastic as well!
(5)Kate E.
The food is outstanding. I dream of the tzatziki sauce. I think it is better than the original Samos'. I always order extra, and I have gone there to order just that. We have had scallops, salads, gyro platters and assorted souvlakis and sides. All good. It's not a fancy place - you have to order at the counter. But they bring it to you and clean up after you. The only tiny ding I could give would be for the slightly Spartan (ha! get it?) atmosphere. But it's clean and cheerfully decorated and...oh, who cares? The food is amazing! Nom nom nom.
(4)Lindsay M.
The wait was a little long for a walk-up place, but it was worth it. My gyro wrap was really delicious. The pita and the meat were both fantastic, but everything was very good. Definitely exceeded expectations.
(5)Manda G.
Delish just like the original. For dinner go for one of the platters. So much delicious food to sample. Comes with side Greek salad (Samos still has the best Greek dressing on the planet). Get the grilled Veges or rice as the side. Both are delish.
(4)Michael S.
Good food for a grand opening! All of the staff is friendly and quick service for how busy they were. I would have liked for the pita to be warm like the original samos. Other than that great job!
(5)Jeanne S.
I probably should wait to calm down to write this, but I just had the most awful service experience. The food at Samos is amazing. It should come as no surprise that it's always crowded and takes quite a bit of time to get your pick-up order -- especially during lunch rush. So I called in advance from work to place the pick-up order -- waited 30 minutes instead of the 15 they said it would take -- and left for the restuarant. When I got there and paid, the girl at the register told me it wasn't ready. For the next 30 minutes, I sat there and watched as a waitress and waiter looked at a ToGo bag, at me, back at the bag and giggled. They did this repeatedly. Finally, I asked another girl at the register if she knew where my order was -- AND IT WAS THE BAG THAT WAS SITTING THERE SINCE THE MOMENT I GOT IN that the other two were laughing about. My soup was cold (although I was told it was 'hot') and there was zero apology. I would normally let this slide, but I was absolutely starving and felt very strangely personally attacked. I also was late to a meeting back at the office. So. Food = awesome. Service = ummm, immature?????? I'm very sad that this happened. I really do love the food.
(1)Douglas P.
Oh no, the original Samos (on Oldham Street) has some competition now! Good news, they've kept up the quality of the original, as this location is owned by the son and daughter-in-law of the original establishment. This location also takes cards, whereas the original is "cash only". Pretty useful since my wife and I don't typically carry much cash. You can't go wrong with this place -- the souvalki, the gyros, the kabobs, the soups, the salads, etc. Good Greek at a good price, nothing pretentious and no long-winded explanation need. Check it out!
(4)Nicole B.
Great place to go for a casual, quick, mostly healthy meal! The restaurant has a modern feel to it, and is nicely done. The food is great. I had the steak kabobs and the steak was amazing-- tender, marinated, and tasty. We devoured the pitas-- they are SO good. Very nice portions for the price. Definitely recommend!
(5)Amanda P.
Gorgeous interior. Attentive staff. Food came out quickly. I had a Gyro and it was awesome. Most places dry out the lamb when they cook it; they didn't. Great addition to the Canton area.
(5)B B.
Beautiful bright spacious interior, excellent (but pricier for lunch) menu. Friendly staff, clean tables/chairs. Food is ready quickly; very fresh, lots of flavor
