Finally stopped into Roberto's about 3 weeks ago and this is my second time. This time I am ordering to go for a dinner party. My favorites are the Artisan pizzas...you will not go wrong. I've had the Bandiera Italiana, Carne and now the Sicilian...it is a sign when the owner his jealous of his creation. There is a discount from 3pm to 5pm for the Americano pizzas...see menu. I recommend ordering ahead of time. He can get busy.

I am writing this review as I eat my pizza. I am in town visiting my sister and this place is close to her house so I gave it a shot. My expectations were way high because if the excellent reviews. I ordered a ham & cheese sub, salami & cheese sub and a 7" pepperoni pizza. I ate the pizza first and it was seriously one of the worst pizzas I have ever had. I agree with one of the other reviewers who stated the sauce was super sweet and the pie not evenly cooked. My crust was very inconsistent, crisp and crunchy in some spot and wet and soggy in other. This pizza missed the mark (for me). The subs were DISGUSTING!!!! The meat and cheese had zero flavor and the bread was stale. I even took the meat and cheese off the bread to salvage some of my lunch but nope the low quality meat and cheese was inedible . The prices are reasonable and the owner was super nice and friendly (hence why I hate to leave such a bad review).

I'm so happy this opened up so close by our home as this will be our go-to take-out pizza place going forward. The menu is fairly simple in terms of number of options - pizza, panini, frittatas, and salad. That's it. But once you take a bite into the pizza slice, you'll immediately understand the complexity of these handmade creations. Fresh, flavorful ingredients and the pan pizzas have the most incredibly thick, chewy, and moist crust ever. Come here now - this place puts virtually all other pizza shops to shame.

Great pizza in Baltimore. For reals. Get the Margherita.

We had such a wonderful first dining trip here. The pizza is very authentic. Want fresh mozzarella and imported Italian tomatoes on your Sicilian pie?. No problem!. This is one of the only places I know that even imports their flour from Italy to achieve the most authentic crust possible. The owner is very welcoming. There is a nice selection of imported Italian soda too. We took our one yr old and she loved her meal too.

Ordered a pizza last night with caramelized onions, sun dried tomatoes and asiago. So good. Being from NY I have been spoiled with delicious pizza and had been disappointed here in Baltimore finding very few places living up to my preferences (most take out pizza has been bad, gourmet pizza places are okay but not what i want or care for). This place is small and unassuming but the pizza is so delicious for take out pizza. Sauce has good flavor and cheese is quality. Definitely best in the area. They have traditional toppings but also offer a really good selection of more interesting ones including artichoke hearts, asparagus, capers, roasted red peppers and more.

Great pizza--fresh ingredients, delicious sauce, nice crust, and reasonable prices. The inside is humble and not terribly big, but it's AWESOME to have another great pizza shop in the neighborhood. By far the best in Mt. Washington! I highly recommend the pesto pie and the traditional.

Hands down the most sensational and delicious pizza I have ever had in Mount Washington. Roberto's is most definitely nowadays in my top 5 of pizza places I adore in Baltimore. I had the Bandiera Italiana with gluten free crust and it was absolutely decadent! I had to fight off my roommates from devouring my pizza when I wasn't looking, which is especially special because each of them always criticizes gluten free pizza. There is nothing I love more than supporting other small business owners, which is why I will always quench my desire for pizza by visiting Roberto's!

Roberto's pizza is great. We had the thin crust arrabiata and the (vegan) cauliflower and pine nuts Sicilian pizza, which was delicious (and didn't taste vegan at all!). Friendly place making delicious pies quite different from the average pizza joint in Baltimore. Give it a try!

If you are looking for a simple pizza pie with Italian roots, go here. He has a simple way of making something still very tasty. Roberto's isn't the type of place that ruins the pizza experiment by mixing and matching ingredients that just don't work. The gf and I have been frequenting this place usually during the weekend. Located in the beautiful area of Mt. Washington, Roberto's offers a personal experience where you can have a conversation with the man behind the food itself. When you enter, be prepared to smell an aroma of fresh ingredients that will make you forget you are in Baltimore. Although the pizzeria is small in size, it has a friendly, neighborhood feel that includes child artwork on the wall. We ordered NY style pepperoni pizza along with a garden salad and had the pleasure of watching all the fresh ingredients come together in front of us. The pizza left a feeling of delight from the natural taste and was void of that "I ate too much" feeling. With admiration to the chef, I will definitely continue to come back.

We tried to check this place out yesterday (6:30 p.m. on Sunday) but there was a sign on the door that said "closed for photography contract." This is the 2nd time we've attempted to visit Roberto's. I've heard good things about the pizza, but getting it seems to be a hassle due to the erratic hours and lack of website or other means to call ahead for ordering.

I am an avid pizza eater who also likes to think of himself as a foodie. The prior reviews of this restaurant are way of base. Firstly, the pizza is not of a gourmet quality. The sauce is arguably the sweetest tasting (not in a good way) I have ever encountered. The dough claims to use Italian flour but the pizza is baked in the smallest conveyer belt oven I've seen. The worst part is that the oven doesn't heat evenly and half the pizza comes out under done. The pizza we ordered claimed to use imported olives but was loaded with the canned California variety that I abhor. I could go on and on about the lack of any ambiance or vibe in the joint and I understand that its just operating as a carry out but don't claim to be a "gourmet" pizzeria and then come up willfully short on so many of the little touches. I give him credit for his enthusiasm but I for one will never go back. Life's too short to be eating bad pizza!

Excellent pizza. The Bandiera Italiana was especially delicious - the combination of spinach and cheeses worked perfectly together. The cheese and tomato sauce pizza was also terrific. The thin crust was just wonderful. This was certainly a hidden gem that I am glad we stumbled upon. Can't wait to go back.

My family and I came all the way from California for some college tours. We stumbled upon this very small pizza shop and was kindly greeted by the owner. I must say he made one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. The proportions are big and well worth your money. The owner is VERY friendly and kind.

1st meal at Roberto's tonight. Great service, great pizza, fresh caesar salad, free parking around the corner on the side of the building on Sulgrave across from MW Tavern. Roberto will earn your repeat business. He's running the place on his own, and is trying to maintain 9-8pm hours daily.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
