Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut
Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. Pick your crust, your sauce, your toppings, and other fancy options like different salts and sauces. All for 8 bucks and I was stuffed!!!! I could have easily saved half for the next day's lunch. The flax seed crust was GREAT and the balsamic glaze topping was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I love vinegar anyway but I might get extra balsamic glaze next time. It wasn't watery like vinegar; it was thicker and ....... I guess like a glaze. haha. Whatever it is, I LOVED it! :-)

Finally tried this place after passing by it a gazillion times and I liked it. I got the Moroccan crust with unlimited toppings pizza. Their crust is super thin but tasty and crispy. Unlimited toppings give you wonderful flexibility and variety. Pizza size was 11" and enough for two. It cost a little over $8. Staff was helpful and patient while I made my selections. The place is huge and looked clean but I saw a bunch of houseflies so subtracting a star. Regardless, I plan on returning to this place.

This was my first ever trip to a Pizza Studio, but I'm sure it won't be my last! For only $7.99 (plus tax...obviously) I got a pizza big enough for lunch and dinner (but I'm a relatively tiny girl. So don't necessarily count on that for yourself if you're a college-age guy or something!). Plus, it was so fun to pick out my toppings! When I first entered I almost considered turning around because the line seemed really long, but they're so efficient! Once I got to the front it was probably less than five minutes before I was walking out with my pizza! I tried the traditional crust with marinara, mozzarella, some feta, garlic broccoli, red onion, pepperoni, and spicy sausage. DELICIOUS. As others have mentioned, the crust is really thin so if you're not into thin crust this probably isn't for you. It also did get cooked a little more than I would have liked in a couple spots...but was overall just about perfect. I also got a side caesar salad to try to convince myself I'm being healthy (in retrospect I don't know why...I added broccoli to my pizza already after all!). It was $3 and they threw it together fresh for me. Nothing special obviously, but it was nice to have something a little extra on the side and I'm not about to rate a pizza place based on its salads. Summary: it's pizza. It's only like $8. It's customizable. What more could you possibly want?!?

So is this the new wave of food? Fast, assembly like cooking? It appears to be more common from what I can see. Here's the thing though, I really don't care. I kinda dig it. I mean the food is fast, and fresh! Plus it doesn't break the bank. Okay so here it go, Pizza Studio is a fairly new restaurant near thee JHU. Basically, you pick a crust, a sauce, one of the pre-created pizzas or simply create your own. The price is the same. They also have salads (which are pretty dang big BTW that cost pretty much nothing!) On this date, since I'm a lover of all things margarita, I got that pizza with the rosemary herb crust. It's pretty cool that you see them create your masterpiece in front of you and you can add or change things to your liking. You give them your name, and they call your name to check you. I totally dig the personalization of this. I'm such a dork, but I think it is awesome. The staff there are really awesome, and so very friendly. Now for the pizza, for 8 bucks, an 11 inch pizza is a great deal. The pizza was delicious, and the crust was so tasty. Seriously, this is a great concept and it really can't be beat.
(5)Jennifer H.
Great addition to JHU. I love the make your own pizza fast casual idea. I chose the whole wheat, flax seed crust and topped it with tomato sauce, mozz, feta, grilled chicken, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms and artichokes. I also got it topped with a pinch of truffle salt. Fannnncy. Pros: the pizza was good! I would probably make the exact same pizza again except I would add balsamic on top. Also it was pretty big for only $8 and you can pick as many toppings as you want! Unfortunately, I ate the whole thing in one sitting, so I obviously liked it. I also like how they offer nitrate-free pepperoni. Cons/suggestions: the crust was a little soggy and perhaps still a little raw, however that didn't stop me from eating the entire thing. Also, I'd love to see some more signage. Perhaps it's coming and they are still working out the kinks? The website was down for a few days prior to my visit, so there was no way to look at the menu ahead of time, and you could not see the topping choices until you were making your pizza. The line would move faster if the topping choices were posted in the line so people could prep before it's time to order, and if the glass above the toppings had labels. I had to keep asking what each item was. One last suggestion would be to add cherry/grape tomatoes :)

Honestly don't understand the hype around this place. They do allow you to customize your pizza as much as you want which is nice. But every time I've been here the crust is soggy the second I receive it, and the whole pizza breaks apart and I can't even pick up a slice so I have to eat it with a fork and knife. There are much better pizza places in Baltimore and there's a Chipotle right next door for the same price.
(2)Mike W.
Was here today for a free tasting event. It was awesome! The Crew Manager, Tony, greeted me at the door. He informed me that the place is not open to the public yet as the employees are in training, but they'd be happy to make a free pizza for me as part of their practice run. I gladly agreed. You can customize anything you want (unlimited toppings!) on your pizza for $7.99. They even have flax seed/whole wheat crust and gluten free crust made of tapioca available. You choose your fresh vegetable toppings that include premium items such as artichokes. They also have a variety of meats, including some of the best fast-food chicken I've had. You can top your pizza off with fresh garlic, cilantro, old bay... etc. They serve Pepsi products at this joint. (#teampepsi for the win!) This place really deserves 5 stars, especially with the friendly staff members. I'm just not sure if I'm going to shell out $8 for a small pizza for lunch.
(5)Teneka W.
This was absolutely deelish. Buffet style pizza with drink for $7.99. Crust was not as crispy as I would've liked it but that's probably because I ordered mine to go and had about a 15 minute ride before I got home.
(4)Marjorie M.
Create your own pizza? For $7.99? What a deal. You can pick one of the pizzas off the menu or make your own. You just need to pick a crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. Another plus is the toppings are unlimited! The pizza crust is very thin which is why pizza can be cooked in 2 minutes so this place is quick if you need a cheap, fast option. There are also gluten free options as well as vegan cheese for those with allergies which I thought was great. My pizza came out fast and it was delicious. I definitely was impressed at how this pizza didn't taste like crap. The ingredients tasted fresh. My only gripe was the crust was a little soft and not as crispy as I preferred, but everything else was on point. I definitely would recommend this place for a quick, easy, cheap way to get a delicious meal.
(4)Christine S.
It's convenient bc I live down the street... But overall, not bad for the price. I like that I can customize however I want and that its pretty quick to cook.
(3)Stephanie H.
I came for Pi Day so the pizzas were $3.14. I like the super customization that you choose everything from your crust to your sauce to all your toppings, which is unlimited. I had the Rosemary herb crust, tomato blend sauce, mozzarella cheese, a bunch of veggies, sausage, and the friendly man making my pizza recommended a basil finishing touch. The service was really great and people were super friendly and attentive. The pizza was very nice.
(5)Victoria W.
Pizza place with unlimited toppings for one price! Can't complain. 4 different crust options, 5 different sauce options, and a bunch of toppings to choose from. Vegan options available. Pizza is a good full circle with a thin crust. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because ive had &pizza in dc which is a similar concept but so much better.
(3)Diana M.
The pizza was great. Loved that the veggies are fresh and organic! Haven't seen that yet at a pizza place here in Baltimore City or in Baltimore as a whole. Smells delicious and is now my new favorite place. I wish they had spinach though :-O Great flavor and the price is amazing! Beats the ledos down the street hands down!
(5)Camille A.
For $8, you really cant go wrong. You get to choose any toppings you want. The crust is thin which is good because it eliminates a lot of calories. The staff was really nice. I would come back and send people here
(5)Kojo B.
I thought i had reviewed this place, well evidently not till now. I dropped by after the gym on pi-day or something like that. The pies were 3.14 and it was packed, the pizza was delicious no lie, you can make your own which i did, or get their signatures. Will go there tonight, as a matter of fact one of my former students when i used to teach in the city recognized me, it took me a second but that was nice. Service was friendly, and fun, drop by get your pizza for about $8
(5)Matt W.
This place is great! I didn't think it would that good at first. Just an average pizza joint. But that was before I walked through the door. I came in and was surprised. The building is a decent size, YOU make the pizza. But not by them giving you ingredients and you make it, but more like Subway. You choose what you want on your sub, or in this case, your pizza. I was again surprised after taking a bite. It was really good. Better than your average pizza place and it only took 2 minutes to cook?! That's a good deal! It isn't too expensive. It is in a great location. There are countless pros to this place. The only con is that when your choosing what you want on your pizza, the menu isn't right in front of you. Although that is the case, you do have the options laid out in front of you so I don't see why you would need it anyway. Good job Pizza Studio!
(5)Anne Z.
The pizza is delicious and it is not expensive at all. The reason I gave three stars is that I found SEVERAL flies in the store. In addition, they stamped the receipt on the tray of pizza. It make me really worry about the food.
(3)Clare C.
Make your own pizza in two minutes- what more could you want from a pizza place. Pick as many toppings as you want (lots of options!), pick your crust (I preferred the firecracker to the rosemary herb), give it two minutes and it's ready to go. Decently priced and lasted two meals for me. Would definitely go back if I'm in a pizza mood!
(4)Alison S.
When you call pizza studio, after the phone ringing about 5 times, you get a recording that says, "if you would like to place an order go to pizzastudio.com . The site is down. I told 7 of my co-workers that I would go pick up pizza for us, but none of us know what to order and there is no way to order. No pizza for us at Johns Hopkins.
(1)Kamilah K.
$7.99? $7.99...$7.99!! Yes you can get your own pizza the way you want for $7.99. My boyfriend and I were looking for food to start off our Saturday afternoon. Since we were heading downtown, I decided to stop near 33rd and St Paul for another food spot. Well, my food spot was no longer there but Pizza Studio was. We decided to go in and I had slight reservations since the place was empty... Until I walked up. Pizza Studio offers several crust types/flavors to choose from, with a variety of pizza toppings. I opted for their "Mediterranean" creation which I loved. My boyfriend order a cheese with veggies and it was good. The pizza takes less than 8 minutes to bake. I could seriously make a trip there every week if it wasn't for the calories. I am happy to find a new spot, which FRESH ingredients for a quick lunch or dinner. My only gripe, as with most places, is keeping in mind the non-meat (especially pork) eaters. Since we were practically the only ones, I didn't gripe but I could tell that the utensils that were used to cut a meat filled pizza would be used to cut veggie pizza.
(5)Gia J.
This place is pretty cool. You can't beat a pizza that size for $7.99. The create your own style is fun and has something everyone would like. I did find the "traditional" sauce a little bland but adding a little salt saved it. My only real complaint is that I felt very rushed while ordering. The employee was asking me so quickly I barely had time to see what toppings were offered and realized I missed some after I ordered. It was my first time there and that was a sour note. All in all, I will return. Maybe next time I'll order online so no one is rushing me.
(4)Bob W.
Wow! Pizza is awesome! Fresh ingredients, perfectly done. Try the Rosemary crust, very tasty with peppers, mushrooms and olives. First time here but I'll be back for more. Don't hesitate to try the pizza here.
(5)Luis P.
I mean, yo. This pizza is lit. It's yummy yummy in my tummy. The pizza is cheap (cause y'all know an ese be poor), though i don't know if the pizza is better than bae's pizza over at Ledo's. Pero like i have a soft spot for Ledo's--they were my first here on campus and you never forget your first, you know. Anyway, toppings are good. Crust can sometimes be a little crusty, like burnt crusty, like not good crusty. But that's only once a week that happens. You're right. That suggests that I spend my time and money here every day of the week. Until they get the ratio of oven-to-not-burnt crust handled, they shall receive a 4-star and they will like it. Otherwise, the place is cute, i guess. They have like art on the wall. It's cute. Pero like...
(4)Anne K.
I'm definitely happy this place has arrived in the village. Already stopped in for pizza two or three times. These guys charge one price for all pizzas-- easy, straightforward, nicer-than-usual-fast-food ingredients. But I'm a mostly vegan eater-- so their one price policy leaves me feeling a teeny bit cheated. I get a fraction of the food others are getting, for the same price. Not sure I can really cheer for that. Now if they had more hefty vegan toppings available at the regular price...
(3)Patrice F.
My son and I LOVE their pizza. The ingredients are fresh and tasty and the workers are always very nice.
(5)Scott M.
This place is fabulous. It reminds meet of Chipotle in how it is set up. Yes it is fast food style but the selections are awesome and the Pizza was perfectly prepared. I had the Moroccan with a flaxseed crust. The vegetables are great!
(5)Mike F.
Pizza is amazing, service is amazing....Make your own Masterpiece.......A must return
(5)Loren H.
Good Nice food, Good pizza and a great price B A D The place really dirty, the employees are really rude and they curse a lot, is bicycle park inside the restaurant, just dirty.
(3)Maria S.
Went here within its first few weeks of being open and was really satisfied by the quality of service and the ingredients. I was able to get some extra sauce on the side without an issue - always a big deal to me! Basically Chipotle for pizza, recommend it!
(4)Julie R.
Pros: fast, crust options, vegan cheese, unlimited toppings, cheap cons: canned veggies when they advertise as fresh, music is blasting & it sucks modern day fast food joint. a step above 7-11 pizza.
(3)Daisy H.
I am so happy about this place. They have vegan cheese! (I am lactose intolerant.) I LOVE pizza, and although there are other pizza places around with vegan cheese, they are far away/expensive/slow. So this is a great place to get a fast, cheap lunch. It's basically Chipotle in pizza form (which is a very good thing). All the employees were very happy and friendly. I hope that means that they are treated well! I joined their free loyalty program- free pizza on your birthday, plus free pizza after a certain amount of points. Yum. My pizza today- rosemary crust, tomato sauce, vegan cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, red peppers, artichokes. The crust is certainly not the BEST I've had, because it's not cooked in a brick oven, BUT that is ok because their cooking method is faster. There are certainly many days when I am happy to sacrifice the brick oven taste to get my pizza fix FAST. Cheers!
(5)Sam K.
Place is promising. Once it gets its kinks worked out I think could be a good challenge to Chipotle which seems to rule that corridor of St. Paul Street. Tasty pizza and great staff. To the Frat Boy complainer "John" who claims a blonde touched his back and seemed to want to "touch" him...Isn't that ironic? A Prat from Dundalk, I mean a Frat from Dundalk who complains women can't keep their hands off of HIM. LOL Usually its the other way around. Enjoy your pizza :-)
(4)Shakil S.
I visited this new Pizza Studio last week with my wife. The District Manager, Scott Black was very friendly and welcoming. All the employees were eager to help and explain the menu/process to first timers. We arrived during lunch time and the staff was well prepared to handle the rush. The line moved along steadily. I ordered the fire cracker veggie and it was delicious. The crust was evenly baked, the toppings were fresh and tasty and the service was great!

Excellent food and service. It's slightly pricey. If they'd set up computer capacity to remember my favorite pizza combination and sent it by text to my phone, I could consult it and PS would be perfect.

I realize it's early in their existence and I am hopeful that their issues get worked out but we just got home and I was disappointed in the service. First the good : one price and many options. A number of different crusts including gluten free. Lots of toppings. Big dining area. Pizzas are a good size. Now the not so much: ordered two pizzas (brought two if the kids) the first came out quickly. The second one got done but apparently they lost track of who's was who's so I had to ask twice. Finally someone asked what we had ordered. They finally got us what we asked for but it was both over cooked and cold. Here's the deal, when you're new and trying to build loyalty and you screw something up you should do whatever it takes to make the customer feel good about the experience. And that didn't happen. I just dropped a bunch of money. Make. It right. The other issue is that the layout seems all wrong. There are two lines but they get all bunched together and that could have been solved easily by making a change to the layout. And there's only one pizza oven. When you get busy it's going to get backed up like it did today and there weren't that many people there. In fact there were more people behind the counter than customers.

They say unlimited toppings and had a salad with all the toppings but wouldn't let me put it on my pizza. I feel salad pizzas are pretty standard for pizza places but they wouldn't give it to me. This was disappointing especially because I didn't have any meat on my pizza either so I had little substance for a 10 dollar pizza.

Had early dinner here today; about a 25 minute wait from door to table at 5pm. The line speed is definitely slowed by the fact that toppings aren't specifically listed on the menu wall, so hopefully that gets fixed. Cross contamination is also an issue, symptomatic of new employees; boyfriend had to have a new container of sauce opened to avoid cheese. Pizza itself was very solid, though oily and obviously a bit expensive (especially for vegetarians). Try tomato sauce + pesto as your base! Dining room is spacious and you can work on a laptop thanks to outlets around the room; this is safely in the Hopkins student lunch rotation already.

I've been waiting for good gluten-free pizza that's close enough to campus so I don't have to wait an hour for it to show up. Thanks to Pizza Studio, there is! I immediately had to try their pizza and was not at all disappointed. The crust is very tasty. It doesn't taste like sand or cardboard, which I greatly appreciate. One thing to note is that gluten free crust is an extra $2, but it's worth it. Or maybe I just like pizza too much. Although I'm not celiac, Pizza Studio seems prepared to handle those who are. The crust comes in a separate package and every single one of the chefs changes their gloves in order to put cheese, sauce, and toppings on the gluten free pizza. I was rather impressed since most places aren't as conscientious about cross-contamination. The staff is very friendly, although, since the place just opened, the line doesn't move as quickly as possible. I think with more practice it'll get a lot better. Overall I definitely recommend this place for all pizza eaters (there are even vegan-friendly options). It's great to finally have a good pizza place Charles Village.
