Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I'm kind of really in love with Michaelangelo's. It's pretty good and inexpensive. The staff are always friendly. Now, it's not a "wow factor" sort of place... it's a hole in the wall that produces quality pizza sort of place and I like that. It's reminiscent of New York pizza restaurants (where I hail from).

DON'T DO IT! Do not order delivery from here... unless you really don't care about what time your food arrives... and you don't care about eating good pizza. I really should have read and listened to the other reviews on here first, but damn those little menus they just drop off in your mailbox which makes it so convenient for ordering. I live a couple streets away from Michaelangelo's but it was raining so despite being walking distance, I decided to call in for delivery. I ordered the special of an XL two-topping pizza that came with two cans of soda. Not a huge fan of soda, but whatev, it's the special, so my boyfriend ordered a Pepsi and I ordered an iced tea. I called and the guy who answered warned me and said it would be about an hour, which I appreciated and said I'd be fine with. Well after waiting for over two hours, I finally received a call from the delivery driver saying he was there and when I came out, he handed me the pizza... and a two-liter bottle of grape soda. Seriously? Grape freaking soda? I told him that wasn't what I ordered and he said he could go back and bring me back my two cans. No, thanks - ain't got time. It was already 9:30p by that time and who knows how long it would've taken for him to come back with our sodas. I called the place back to let them know how unacceptable it was that I had waited twice the waiting time to receive the wrong order (and later I found out the pizza wasn't even very good - chewy, hard-to-eat crust). To give him credit he was apologetic, but only offered to bring two-liter bottles of pepsi and iced tea (which I declined as I have no use for). And to top it all off, the delivery driver didn't even get out of his car to bring me the pizza. So when I came out of my apartment building, I stood in the rain to scan where he was, locate his car, and stand outside his car window the entire time while he rummaged for the pizza and had me sign the receipt. Awesome. Will never order from here ever again.

Call ahead. Just a great general rule.

I don't ever write reviews. But I've been waiting 1 hour and 45 min for a pizza they said would take 40 min. About 30 min ago, "The driver had just left".....

we have had many issues w/ their delivery.. waiting hours.. cold food etc. tonight the food was cold AND i had to go downstairs to get it because the lazy driver didn't want to park.. tonight was the last time for us.. especially after we heated our pizza and it was awful.. a onc ereliable establishment is dead to us... terrible

This Place Tends To Have Really Good Food, I Work In The Mount Vernon Area And It Was Actually One Of The Few Places I Enjoyed Eating. However The Service Is Terrible. I Called About 2 Weeks Ago To Order A Slice Of Pizza & Mozzarella Sticks,The Man Taking My order, Who I Believe Is The Owner Or Manager Actually Yelled At Me, Then Hung Up The Phone In My Ear! Wait Let Me Take This Back To The Beginning. When He Answered, He Was Very Friendly, I Said I Would Like To Palace An Order For Pick-up, He Said Okay What Can I Get You? I Said Chicken Pizza & He Replies "????" Something I Did Not Catch, So I Said Excuse Me... As In Can You Repeat That, & His Exact Words In Response Were "Do You Understand English Miss!!!" Floored... I Responded "Why Are You Yelling At Me?" Then Next Thing I Knew CLICK, He Hung Up Directly In My Ear. I Am Not Sure How A Misunderstanding Of Words, Turned Into Some Of The Worst Customer Service Ever. But Long Story Short, I Never Called Back, And I Would Never Consider Giving Them My Business Ever Again.

Yay! On the coldest night in town, Michelangelo's delivers and is friendly about it! Decided to try it out and voila, just twenty bucks for a footlong meatball parm sub, peppered and old bay french fries, can of soda, chicken tenders and fries, and garlic bread. What a deal! Love places like this that are superfriendly on the phone and will accomodate substitutions with a smile.

Wao,New management !!new improved food taste.Reasoable prices, real Italian calzones and grilled Ckn Caesar salad, loved it. Give them a try.

Sweet. Foodler is in Baltimore. I ordered online from Michelangelo's on there, and I've got no complaints. I can't really compare it to other Baltimore pizza since it's my first in town, but it was good and fast. I got the "Meat Delight" and it was loaded up. My (semi-vegetarian) gf seemed happy with the Spinach & Cheese Stromboli. I wish foodler could show rating from yelp, since they don't seem to have a lot of ratings for places in Baltimore yet.

After getting my haircut up the street I was looking for some lunch. I got the barbecue wings. The preparation was relatively quick and the staff was friendly enough for a takeout place, but the wings were bad. They were meaty enough, but the sauce was dumped on post reheating. It was thick and unevenly distributed and distinctly cheap tasting. I might as well have gone to the hot food section of Giant, bought some plain wings, and gotten a bottle of Heinz BBQ sauce on my way out. I hear the pizza's good, though.

HORRIBLE pizza. I would have given zero stars if that were an option. The sauce is awful. The cheese is flavorless. Chain pizza joints have the worst crust (since they ship it in from off-premise and it sits in the fridge for days until the gas bubbles make them too unwieldy) and Michalangelo's follows that trend. If you like Chuck E Cheese, you may like this place. Afterall, they give you that disgusting oil with garlic flavoring that lets you know that a restaurant is trying to cover up their low-quality food with indigestible flavored trans-fats. You could do better by making your own pizza at home with a Boboli. The subs are made with low quality meat and are not recommended. Don't waste your money on this garbage.

My cousin lives in Baltimore and she said this place got robbed Monday night 4/26/2015 and had all their windows smashed. If you are feeling up for pizza think about supporting this local shop, they are up and running even with boards over their doors and windows. yelp.com/biz_photos/mich…

Absolutely disgusting place. NEVER GO HERE/ORDER FROM HERE! WORST experience EVER. I had called to order a pizza and they were rude on the phone, and when I tried to confirm it, they hung up on me. I called back upset, indicating what happened and the man on the phone then yelled at me saying that it was confirmed and that there was nothing else he could do. This place is rude, offensive, and their pizza is awful. NEVER GO HERE!!

Nice folks, fast delivery and great food. I ordered the tenders and they were PERECT. I can't speak to the experiences of others but I couldn't have been more pleased. These guys seem very hardworking and made a very genuine effort to assure my satisfaction.
(5)Virginia Y.
I ordered buffalo wings from this place, it claims that it's got old bay flavoring but I didn't really taste it? It's just your average fried chicken. Kind of sucks that they charge $1 for delivery and there's still a $10 minimum requirement... overall, EH

I should have listen to the reviews beforehand, but I didn't. I was staying in Baltimore and it was around midnight. Two other places I called were already closed, so being hungry, I called this place, even after reading the reviews on here. BIG mistake. I called my order in at 12:00AM and it didn't show up until 2:00AM. I actually called the restaurant twice asking how much longer and both times I was told "the driver is on his way". After two hours, you can just imagine how the food was. Yuck. It was like eating cardboard. Super bland cheese, no flavor, little sauce. The driver btw didn't even apologize for the wait. I should have just refused the order after waiting that long. Overall, never again!
(1)Mike M.
No stars... Slow, slow, slow... and ownership actually took their prices up! Well no more!
(1)Safiyyah R.
Used to love this place but since management changed it has been the worst!! Took almost 2hours for food to be delivered. I called an hour after ordering and was told driver just left. I'm probably less than 15min away and still waiting 30 min later. I won't be ordering from here again. A waste of money and food not worth it

Michaelangelos has, hands down, the best calzones in Mount Vernon. I have been coming here regularly for a few months and I find their pizza to be consistently good (chewy, fresh tasting dough. More than enough toppings. Tasty sauce) bit their calzones? Forget it. They're masterpieces. My favorite is pepperoni and meatball. They put a buttery garlic glaze like concoction over them when they come out and that stuff is game changing. They are sometimes understaffed which will hurts customer service but the owner is always in there busting his ass, and is very friendly and very professional. If you're unhappy, tell him, and he will work for your business. Tip them and they will remember next time. I am always happy with my food here. I always pick up and cannot comment on their delivery.
(5)Kristin J.
We've ordered from here several times and love love love the pizza. We order the meat one with white sauce. I want to give five stars but the last time the person taking the order suddenly didn't know what we meant by white pizza sauce. Unfortunately we ended up with the ranch instead of the usual garlic white sauce and it wasn't nearly as good. We've also had the shrimp scampi which was amazing after the addition of Old Bay. I wish the noodles where penne or fettuccine rather than spaghetti, but I'd say it's worth the price. Delivery is fast!!
(4)Abby H.
We ordered 6 pizzas 50 wings around 1am, and we were told it would take 50 minutes. It's currently 3:06 am and the order still had not arrived. Google maps says we are 3 minutes by car and 7 minutes walking. In retrospect we should have just gone there in person. I have no idea how this establishment functions. Everyone is going to bed and we are losing hope the pizza will ever arrive. Absolutely horrible.
(1)Kimberly S.
Simply disappointing... Garlic Bread was burnt and had very little flavor. Chicken on the gyro tastes like "dry ham" according to my husband. Will not order again.
(1)Laura T.
Look I don't care what anyone says, their pizza is the bomb! They have hot pizza forever turning on display and it's packed with cheese. I love when the sauce has a sweet taste to it. They are a really good spot for late night pizza cravings. They are always fast on delivery. The last thing I like about them, they have beef pepperoni! I love some pork trust me I do but some things can actual taste good when made with beef.
(3)Sheena B.
We've ordered from them before and the chickenbox was really good. Be prepared for a 45 minute to 1hour delivery wait. My only complaint is that I called when I called 5 minutes ago I was asked to hold on. In the background I heard: person1: can someone get that phone? person2:No you get it yourself. Person1: Ive trying really hard to (muffled) person2: so what does that have to do with me? So I hung up. Looks like it Paul Chen's tonight.

I do not know how this place is still operating. We ordered $90's worth of food for 30 people after a wedding. They told us 50 minutes. We called an hour later, they said it'd be there soon. An hour and a half, "the driver's almost there." 2 hours, I told them I wanted to cancel the order, but they told me I couldn't do that because they "couldn't get in touch with the driver". It arrived 2 and a half hours later. We tried to refuse the food, they told us we couldn't. So we didn't sign the receipt. The next day, a man threatened to call the police if I didn't accept the charges since we'd taken the food. I agreed, because he's right that the food did get eaten and I'm not a shady person, but he agreed to send a $10 check for all the hassle. Yep. $10. On a $90 bill. After a month, no check. I'm not concerned about $10, at this point, it's the principle. I asked him about it, he apologized and said he'd mail it that day. Another month, no check. I asked again, no response. Another month later, I tried to ask again and found he'd blocked my number. Unreal. The food was subpar, the employees disgustingly rude, and the management's attempts at a "resolution" were more infuriating than the original incident. If you have an ounce of self-respect, order elsewhere. They absolutely ruined what should've been a fantastic celebration, and then made it clear that their customers do not matter when I asked them to make it right.

If your picking up the food GREAT however their delivery times SUCK! Was told 45-60mins and waited an extra 30mins. When I called they were rude. Needless to say no tip for the driver. The food was good however I asked for Italian dressing on a hoagie and there wasn't any. Pizza - for Baltimore pizza it's one of the better ones I've had.
(3)Corinthian B.
I ordered a chicken cheesesteak and my daughter ordered cheesesticks and onion rings we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Customer service was very good. If ever We are on the area again we will eat here. The food is very affordable also :-)
(5)Carrie O.
Meh. It's okay. Nothing really standout or special about this place. Previous reviews are correct about delivery issues - they take longer than any other place in Mount Vernon to deliver to my house, even though it's actually the closest restaurant in proximity. I don't know the reason for it, but it can be incredibly frustrating when you're rip-roaring starving. I sometimes just walk down there instead of bothering to call - what's the point when they take 2 hours to drive 5 minutes? I ordered a cheesesteak and "disco fries" (they don't name it as such, but it's basically fries with cheese and gravy) the other night. Cheesesteak was okay, fries were okay. Again, nothing special - not bad, not great. Prices were decent. The delivery issues are what keeps me from ordering from this place more.

Fast delivery. Best veggie pizza in Baltimore! Awesome sauce, great crust.
(5)Lisa G.
This no frills (and I mean no frills) delivery/carryout pizza joint is open until 3 or 4 in the morning! Great for late night revelers in Mount Vernon; open when no one else is. That's what makes it great. We arrived at 11 p.m. and got pepperoni slices. The guys were super friendly and conversational. The pizza was pizza. Nothing at all special. Good price.

This place is 0 stars. I work in the food industry and this is ridiculous. Placed an order online. Takes an hour, they said it will be there any minute. 40 minutes pass I called eat24's helpline. They informed me the delivery drivers car broke down and the owner would personally deliver it. So I called the restaurant to ask where he was, and was rudely hung up on. Unbelievable. Well I canceled my order and am still waiting on that so called owner. Boycott this place by all means.
(1)Ms. P.
Subpar pizza; it wasn't the best quality ingredients. At best, it would qualify as $.99 pizza you get in NYC. The employees were nice. (written 10/11/11)
(2)Phillip H.
If there was a way to leave negative stars I would. Pizza was 45 mins late. Forgot my two two liters of Pepsi. When I asked the delivery guy about it he said he would be right back just had to get them from his car. I had already payed. This asshole than proceeds to drive off. I called about ten minutes latter and got the driver. He then proceeds to tell me they don't carry Pepsi. I asked why is it on the menu? He then says I don't know what to tell you and hangs up. This place sucks and I would go down there to get my money back if it was worth my 10 extra dollars. Avoid at all costs.
(1)Charlotte B.
One note: their delivery service is incredibly erratic at lunchtime, even to businesses very close by. Can run as late as 45 minutes after the time you asked for (this has happened to me more than once). Very uncomfortable and embarrassing when you're standing around in a hungry group and your colleagues are giving you the stink-eye for having suggested this place. If you want your lunchtime order to arrive on time, you have to go pick it up in person, or . . . . I'm not sure what the secret is, maybe tell them it needs to be there an hour before you REALLY want it there, and hope that the pizza isn't too cold? Really, what I most recommend is stopping by for the $2 slices (although, I must note in the interest of full disclosure, they often run out at lunchtime. Their management skills leave something to be desired, sigh) You can tell I really like their pizza and their prices, that I am willing to put up with all this BS!
(3)Paul S.
Delivery was fast, though the comment about the wings being bad was accurate, reheated, sauce splashed on not covering every wing the same. the krazy fries arrived in a cold brick of cheese, soft fries and bacon that was rubbery. not really worth the money i paid, the quality could be improved if they charge this much and an added delivery fee.

(01/27/ 2011) The pizza here is OK. It's the closest pizza place to work, and it's cheap. What more could we ask for (OK, maybe some higher quality meats and cheeses, but what they've got is fine). They use plenty of cheese and sauce (a little on the sweet side). And did I mention cheap? An extra-large pick-up special (you go get it) is only $8.99 and will feed 3-4 hungry state employees. Pizza's come with that garlicky carcinogenic yellow fake butter dipping sauce, I use it to make the cold crust on the leftover slice palatable. I've gotten salads there before in an attempt to be "healthier" (avoid, it's usually brown) and wings (meh, small and overcooked). Place is a little seedy at night, seems like it's where the corner boys go to cool down/warm up during their shifts. Bonuses: close to work, inexpensive (I mean, CHEAP).
(3)Megan R.
Ok so there are a lot of negative reviews up here but I've got to tell you the place has changed management since most of them were posted. The whole drug addict business is just a total assumption... I see these guys everyday and they work had day in and day out, they couldn't really be on hard drugs considering how many orders they handle. Also both managers will go above and beyond for customers, so if you have a problem with something... go directly to them. The food is nothing super special, but they do make a very good cheesesteak and usually have some good deals on pizza. I would suggest everyone who posted a negative review give them a break... and second chance.
(4)julia m.
Decided to order from them tonight and won't be going back. They forgot half my order and brought incorrect items instead of what I asked for. It also took 90 mins for them to show up with the cold food. It just isn't worth it.
(1)Ali K.
Do NOT order delivery from here!! I ordered food from here on eatbmore.com . I got the confirmation E-mail and everything. An hour later, when I still hadn't received my food, I called them. They said they never got the order. I've ordered using eatbmore.com MANY times and have never had this issue so I have to assume it's this place. I had to call the online service so they could cancel the order (they said the order had been confirmed with Michaelangelo's, but they called Michaelangelo's and cancelled the order so I wouldn't get charged twice). I decided to replace the order over the phone because the man had apologized and assured me that once the food was done they would instantly deliver it. They finally delivered it 55 minutes later, which is absolutely ridiculous given that I had already waited an hour beforehand, I only ordered 6 wings and onion rings, I live less than 10 minutes away, and they had assured me I would get it quickly since they had already screwed up! The food was fine, but I will NEVER order delivery from here again!
