Came here for an event that was here. They had a cheese display which was great. I had a crab cake as an entree which was also decent, but the veggies on the plate were a bit over done. The venue itself is pretty but a bit outdated. Lots of parking and easy to locate.

Facility is clean and beautiful, although not my taste so to speak. Staff was courteous and very efficient. I could hear another event (prom) which made it hard to hear my own event (awards banquet). The food was so-so, but I expected it to be.

I came to Martin's for a wedding this past weekend and it was great. The staff were awesome as well as the food. I would say the only thing that is a negative is you can hear music from other parties. They book multiple events at one time. All in all, I think I would consider them if I ever had an event.

This is only a review for the venue and food - 4.5 stars! I was here last night for a sorority banquet. My jaw dropped when I saw the venue - it's absolutely gorgeous, inside and out! The chandeliers, window dressings, flowers, EVERYTHING help to set such a beautiful mood for any event. The Christmas decorations only added to the scenery. The staff here are so friendly and very professional. We had an open bar and the bartenders were extremely efficient with serving our large party. They were also great with creating "special" drinks whenever we ran out of creative requests. I loved the food as well - we had everything from steak to santa fe chicken, a pasta bar, candy bar, crab cakes, and red velvet cake.. everything was delicious. My only complaint is that they took the plates away way too quickly. I stepped away for less than a minute and when I came back, my drinks and dessert were gone! All in all, Martin's Caterers helped to create an absolutely magical night and I would recommend the venue to anyone.

Bob Guccione décor be damned. This is still a pretty satisfactory event space. It's Doric Order-cum-mid-sixties columns, grandiose faux flora, and gold lamé trimmings were the least of my worries even if flirting on eye candy overload. Graduation parties, prom parties, anniversary parties, retirement parties, business parties, etcetera ad infinitum. I've been to them all. Most at Martin's (West) Caterers. Last time here the clock was ticking and their staff took a licking making sure they kept the event's schedule. Rushed, but highly capable. Professional if not always having the time to be overly amiable. No problems fitting all 300 of us in the space rented, but elbow room at tables was at a premium and made eating a tad tricky. Vittles served used to be worse back in the day, but have picked up for the relative better: crab cakes fairly firm, but denser on mayonnaise than craved. Chicken breasts fine despite quaggy stuffing. Chocolate cake drizzled with raspberry sauce a winner. Nothing gourmet, but, after all, this ain't Woodberry Kitchen. Total joint's less than a 4, but rides a skosh more than 3 based on the staff's ability to juggle with grace under pressure. I've only been an attendee at events and haven't dealt with the business of actual party planning here. By the way, stop fretting, y'all. The Guccione vibe doesn't extend to their spacious slightly aged event rooms. Just on the façade. And just in the lobby. Also in the lavatories. I'm over it.

On August 4th, I organized my very first Crab Feast event with Martin's Caterers at Martin's West. My planner, Ali S., was very helpful, patient, and understanding. We began planning the event rather close to the event date, but Ali had everything under control. When we arrived at the Catering Hall, a bit late, we were welcomed with open arms. The layout for food was magnificent, and the servers were excellent. Our event included people from 21-70 years of age, and we all enjoyed our time at Martin's West. After the event, people asked repeatedly if I would repeat the event because the catering hall was more beautiful than they had expected. It was simply gorgeous. If planning a wedding or any other event in the Baltimore area, please look to Martin's West for the perfect event.

When it comes to hosting a very special event, like a wedding, this place is truly the best in its categorY. Absolutely beautiful decor, crystal chandeliers and a winding staircase, clean and accomadating ladies rooms (very important!) and the food is outstanding. The most important part is the staff, who were the utmost of professionalism that I have ever seen at an event like this. Just attended my cousin's wedding, and although I am somewhat anti-wedding-reception halls, this one is truly very good. I haven't attended a wedding here since 1976, when my Aunt married my Uncle. There was a bridal salon upstairs back then, and I think only one ballroom. I remember my young eyes thinking this was really classy, and later, used it as the standard of all wedding thereafter, (to which I was often disappointed). I was very glad to see that Martin's West hasn't lost any of its standards or the decor. All of us really enjoyed ourselves, and there were really no complaints at all. Thanks to the Resnick family who run it - my hats are off to you and your staff!

I had a great experience with Martins West. I had the pleasure of working alongside Shira, John and Miss Barbara to help make my friend, Funmi's wedding day perfect! And it was! Shira remained professional and kind, although Funmi and I sent her numerous emails throughout the process. John was very patient and helpful during the rehearsal and throughout the wedding day. Miss Barbara was also very helpful throughout the wedding day. And the entire staff was extremely professional, well organized and kind. The wedding guests absolutely loved the venue and there was ample parking! Yay Martins West!!
