Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I've experienced much better Chinese carry-out in my day. My roommates and I have jokingly re-named this place "Dirty Kid Restaurant" . As you walk in the door, you usually will be greeted by 2 of the owners pre-school aged kids rolling around on the floor where the customers order, picking each others bellybuttons, eating each others boogers or just tearing up newspaper. There have been a few times where I have actually been walking down Light St & seen one of the dirty kids alone walking around the sidewalk . (In my head I was thinking, Wait ? Is that the same kid that I always see playing on the floor at Lucky Fortune ? It Is ! ) Any way, as far as the food goes, I ate a shrimp dish once and I spent about 45 mins on the can immediately after, it messed up my stomach pretty bad. Also, another time I had ordered the Wonton Soup (can't mess that up right ?) Well, you'd be surprised, b/c the crunchy fried noodles that you drop into the broth were unbelievably greasy. They tasted awful & nearly ruined my soup. I have had a Sesame Chicken dish from this place that was acceptable once, but for Chinese in Baltimore I would recommend Kirby's Szechuan on Charles St. , or Uncle Lee's by the Harbor. Dirty Kid, excuse me, Lucky Fortune is usually only a last resort to me because they are conveniently open on Sundays and also late on weeknights.

The restaurant let us order online for delivery, and even charged my card, but then called over an hour later, after our expected delivery time saying that they would be unable to deliver because their driver was out sick and couldn't deliver and hung up without even as much as an apology. I will never go there again.

Great food but yes from time to time they can be very sketchy on the delivery and answering when you call. I've been ordering from here for 10 years and it's happened a handful of times. Overall though it's pretty quick and on point. It's extremely annoying when it does happen but it never stopped me from ordering because I love thier food. Thier black bean shrimp is worth a wait for me.

I'll start with the good the chicken fried rice was tasty, but very little chicken. The delivery was very good. Now the bad got a large wonton soup and the wontons were absolutely inedible, even tasted like stale noodles- totally overcooked. Maybe Easter Sunday is not the time to order. But I was sick and hadn't eaten in 24 hours.

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. I'm only in the little town of Baltimore because of Hopkins, otherwise I'd never come to this cultural equivalent of dried dog turds. Seriously, let this place go out of business.

We ordered lunch online at 11:50am and it still hasn't been delivered (it's now 2:30pm). We have called the number listed here multiple times and no one answers. You can't even leave a message because the voicemail hasn't been set up.

I have little hope for good Chinese food in Baltimore. That said, one day recently, I decided to believe the good reviews for Lucky Fortune and give it a shot. Let me start by saying this place is dirty. If you are into clean restaurants, stop reading and just don't go. Because it's real dirty. If you can get past the dirty, then you may be pleasantly surprised at the prices. Okay, since you are not scared off, let me tell you how cheap it is. It is, in fact, super cheap. The lunch specials are around $6 with rice, egg roll, and soup. And they give you a lot. This is probably due to their low cleaning costs. Anyone who has read this far will probably want to know about the food. Well, the food that I got pretty much sucked. The hot and sour soup and egg roll were very much the same as every other hole-in-the-wall chinese restaurant in Baltimore. I am sure they all buy it in big barrels from the same sketchy distributor. Don't get me wrong, I ate it, but if that suits you, then find a cleaner restaurant and get it there. The real problem was the entree. I got szechuan bean curd, fearing that the meat might be... dirty. Well, first of all, there was meat in it anyways. So, if you are vegetarian, go find a rope to gnaw on, because this had meat in it. Anyway, that does not bother me except that it defeated the purpose, but what did bother me was that it did not taste good. I have had many brown sauces and many "szechuan whatever" dishes that I have liked, but this sauce was not at all to my liking. It reminded me of raisins or prunes or something equally not-okay-with-me. Bottom line, you can get equivalently un-awesome Chinese food nearby at a place where they may actually clean up once in a while. If you must, do that.

The delivery was fairly quick (we called our order in my phone instead of online), but the food honestly wasn't that great.

The food is good if you have an hour or more to wait for your delivery. Seriously, this place takes forever. I don't understand why it takes this place twice as long as any other in the area. Every time I say this is the last time. So consider yourself warned, good food but it takes twice as long as they tell you.

Completely ignoring the restaurant's interior environment is what allows me to give Lucky Fortune 4 stars, as the food is actually pretty decent in terms of Americanized Chinese fare standards. General Tso's chicken and all other generic entrees are perfectly passable, soups are actually pretty flavorful with some fresh components and the overall value of lunch specials is insane. For ~$6 you get an entree w/rice, egg roll AND soup/soda -- which honestly is more than enough for a single meal. If they stepped their game up in terms of using higher quality ingredients consistently (bigger variety of fresh veggies, white meat chicken, etc.) then they could earn that coveted 5th star.

Finally found some good Chinese food in the city!! And they deliver? Bonus! ...you actually really should have them deliver because the building isn't pretty. I try not to think about it or look at it while walking down the street. I'd rather not think about where it comes from and just focus on the food. Always hot and fresh and really great prices. I have tried the General Tso's Chicken (spicy option), dumplings, fried rice, wonton soup and crab rangoons . All were the best I've tried in the city. Minus the rangoons they could have been better but hey they were free since we spent over $20

Waited nearly 2 hours for delivery! Every time we called (starting after an hour), they claimed it was on its way... Which it clearly wasn't. Food is good, but we won't order from them anymore.

This is my second time ordering from here. The first time, the delivery time was reasonable and the food was great (house egg foo young). This time, over an hour for my order to arrive and, one of the items I ordered was missing. I called the restaurant to check my order status and the man I spoke with was quite dismissive. I ordered the house egg foo young again and it tasted a little burnt.

I recently ordered lunch from here and though the food was good and they actually deliver (in a 3mile radius). The customer service wasn't good. Hence the 3 stars, unfortunately you can't give 1/2 stars. I wish I could have given 2 1/2! I didn't appreciate the deep sighs while ordering nor the high pitch voice tone when asked to come get my food. When I did arrive outside to pick the food up he seemed to not want to step outside the car and had a attitude. His attitude caused him not to receive a tip, which he yelled at me about and told me "next time you pick up NO Delivery!". If your looking for good Chinese food downtown with bad customer service you've got the right place!

Finally good chinese in baltimore! Being from philly, i was disappointed when i moved. Dont let the looks of this place fool you. The food is spot on!
(5)Ashley L.
When the other reviews said it would take 1 1/2 hours to get your food they weren't kidding...it took them 1:40 min to bring me a fairly simple order. I'm only about 8 blocks away...would not recommend delivery to anyone!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I found decent Chinese food in Baltimore. I have ordered from every Chinese restaurant that will deliver to Federal Hill. There have been at least six that ranged from OK to inedible. I was so desperate that I ordered from the merely OK ones a second time with the hope that they'd be better. More than once I threw out the entire order from other restaurants because it was so disgusting. Lucky Fortune is solid, American Chinese food. This is what I could get just about anywhere in other places I've lived but hardly seems to exist in Baltimore. Kung Pao, General Tso's, Sweet & Sour, Lo Mein, Egg Rolls, Dumplings... it's all been hot and tasty and they don't load it up with trash vegetables or questionable pieces of mystery meat. You can order online and not have to talk to anyone. They have permanent coupons. (Free Crab Rangoon with $20 order). It's cheap and good.

This place has steadily gone downhill over the last few years and last night was the end for me. It took 1 1/2 hours to get my delivery and on top of that they gave me one completely wrong item and two other items were exactly the same with different veggies and different containers. Busy or not this is terrible service.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to order from. The service is fast, the food is good, and sometimes they throw in free items. I love the wonton soup, shrimp mei fun, beef and broccoli as well. The only thing I don't really care for is their lo mein. We order from here frequently and have never had any problems

For takeout or delivery chinese food -- this place is pretty good. Their chicken pieces in General's chicken are juicy white meat pieces, not the small, hard dark meat found at other places. Their soups taste good, and their other dishes are also pretty tasty. It's the best delivery I've ordered in Baltimore. Unfortunately, other people know that too, so delivery often takes a while...

A family run Chinese restaurant. Quick service, I had done a pickup and came back in 15 to have everything packed and ready to go. Order of Kung Pao was actually well seasoned. Many chinese restaurants don't give enough spice, if any. Just needs a little renovating.

I have had much better, but it was not sickening, so I'll give 2 stars. For example: I ordered Dragon/Phoenix (Shrimp and Chix with veggies. 2/3 a tray of chix, TWO shrimp, and veggies. Spring rolls were so overdone they were black and dripping grease and it took over 90 min to get here from 3 miles away on a MONDAY. Really? Sodas were warm as well as they packed them in teh same bag as the hot food. Not too swift as my dad would say. Don't waste your time or money, go elsewhere and enjoy.

A couple times I got delicious meals there but this time they delivered the wrong things. They were rude and argumentative on the phone. They came back but instead of delivering the correct meal they delivered some peanuts to put on top of the dish that they delivered, but it was still not what I ordered. The driver misled me twice, telling me he was in the lobby waiting, when in fact he had not arrived and I had to wait for him on a busy work day.
