We were on our way to Ra Sushi but parking was impossible. So we decided to try newly opened Katana on the corner of Boston and Montford in Canton. The food was yummerific. We had the California roll, vegetable roll, and miso soup. All the food was flavorful and fresh. Our waitress was attentive, personalble, and knowledgeable. Not quite full, we then ordered pork dumplings that were steamed then pan fried for about 30 seconds. They were divine, and I'm not a big fan of pork dumplings. The Japanese spring rolls were also fresh tasting and full of flavor. The highlight was the salmon nigiri. The salmon was soft and velvety -- absolutely delightful. Parking is easier in this area as opposed to Harbor East. The restaurant is the old Red Fish place, but the interior has been redone so the seating is much more spacious. We ate in the dining area, but a bar is in front where you can watch your sushi being made. We had the lunch specials at 2 p.m., so the prices were good. With a beer each, the total was just over $36. Go. Eat. Yum.

Really good sushi! I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews, but this place definitely deserves more stars. I just moved from Honolulu and am used to good sushi and this place didn't disappoint. Nice atmosphere too. Can't wait to come back and try the ramen!

I've had lunch and dinner here; both were positive experiences. The staff is fantastic - very courteous and attentive. The sushi rolls and sashimi are fresh, creative combination-wise (rolls) & tasty. The ramen broth is made daily in house and the ramen noodles are excellent. The lunch and happy hour specials are worth checking out - prices and deals are reasonable. The location is an easy walk from Canton or Fells - and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated.

I went here for dinner and the food was fantastic. For an appetizer, I ordered the "Waterfall", which was tuna in a spicy sauce with avocado and garlic. The presentation was incredible and it tasted even better. The tuna was extremely fresh and the sauce complimented it very well. I also split a tuna, salmon, and avocado roll as well as a sashimi deluxe with my family. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Canton was lacking a great sushi place and I think this place finally changes that. Prices are high, but the quality of food compensates for it.

Overall this place wasn't bad. What made me give it just 2 stars was the price for sushi. In comparison to other local sushi joints, their speciality rolls are very pricey. I got a $16 paradise roll and had them substitute salmon for tuna in which they charged me an additional $2! For $18, I've had much better and for much less.

I'd like to give this a three and a half but could only give it a three. Very good spicy ramen but they tried to nickle and dime me for the traditional toppings, such as a boiled egg and bamboo shoots. Flavor wise it was delicious and I will definitely be back next time I need a ramen fix.

The sushi was very fresh and very good. Many different types of rolls. The ramen was very good. The broth was delicious.

I cannot say enough for this place. It's in a spot that appears to struggle and has changed many times since I have lived in Charm City. I sure hope they make it though, because the service and people are so great, and the food is even better. The first time I went, we ordered a bunch of sushi from the menu and special board. I totally recommend checking out the special board and step a little out of your comfort zone. It is fresh and different then what you would normally expect. On that day - there two cuts of blue fin, which we also combined with the salmon skin roll, and some other sushi classics. I have been back and I will definitely be going back. We spent a few moments deciding on drinks - I am still struggling a little to figure out what I will be drinking there - I don't love the wine list, nor sake. So I have been trying out the cocktails, especially since they are on happy hour. I started with the Hey Jealousy a reference to the Gin Blossoms, combining gin and little St. Germain. Enough already, on the food - it's fun to watch the chef make the dishes - he is so focused and his pride shows in the flavor and presentation. We started with the live scallop, which astonished everyone sitting around us, since most, including me, had never seen an actual scallop shell. The thin slices of sweet scallop, placed on a tart lemon slice is a great combo. The center of the slices is a slaw style salad with a little seaweed and some of the sweet meat that attached the muscle to the shell. This chef is definitely introducing me to some new tastes and textures. I can't complain - I'd get it every day. This week, they also had red and black snapper sushi. The two fish were so different. The red was a little fattier and slightly buttery texture, I liked it slightly better than the black snapper, which was a little more delicate. Still both great. One more time, go for the specials. We then shared some sake with the chefs, and finished the meal with a few slices of sashimi.

Average. I heard so many great things about this place so had to give it a visit. But the drinks were expensive, the sushi rolls were fresh but small and nothing too special. Tried vegetable tempura too which honestly might have been my favorite part. Considering how satisfied I've been with other sushi joints in canton, I can't think of a reason to come back there.

went for lunch and another time for dinner. Both times the food was excellent. One superstar item was a baked scallop (in a big scallop shell) appetizer - enough for two or three people as a starter. Sushi were OK. Ramen soup was good. Loved the shrimp fried rice. Prices were a little high for the area and the decor at dinner was not ideal. The ceiling lights were very white and bright which kind of killed the atmosphere. I think that if the lights were dimmed, it would create a more upscale atmosphere that matches the quality of the food and service which were great.

Average at best with mixed results for our meal. Took family for dinner. Wife had stir fried udon noodles which she didn't care for. I had ramen with spicy pork broth. Not much mouth feel or umami, especially when c/w anything from NYC. The chicken tasted like Mystery meat as well and I left it over. Kids had shrimp and avocado sushi. Which they liked. Nice service but we probably won't go back.

I really want this place to work out. Great location and would be nice to have a decent ramen place this side of town. They still have some work to do. The spicy ramen is palatable, but not great. Do not order the tonkotsu. The rolls are okay, but there is a lot of okay sushi in Canton. On the plus side there is plenty of seating and limited wait. The restaurant is in a visible and central location with easy access. I hope they make some changes and stick around.

They just opened last week and the food and service have been great! I've been back 4 times. The sushi was delicious, the Ramen was perfect, the salmon teriyaki for lunch was real tasty. Great spot I'm canton.

We had the butterfly roll, crazy spider and California roll. All excellent! The 6-year old in our group devoured the shrimp tempura and the California roll. Bartender mixes excellent cocktails and our server was polite and very attentive. We will definitely be back! Great addition to the neighborhood!

Stopped in the dinner with my hubby tonight. Had an amazing meal! We started out with the edamame and the pork gyoza. Both were delicious. My hubby ordered sushi. Very good - nothing fancy, pieces of salmon and tuna. He commented that all was very fresh. I had the spicy ramen - amazing! Just the right amount of spice. Good service. Waiter was super attentive. Definitely coming back!

This place is amazing!! Per suggestion, we go the "Out of control" roll. That thing was out of this world!!! We also really enjoyed the lobster tar tar and the ninja roll. So rare to find a place with yummy cocktails, and bad ass sushi. The bartender Anthony is a clever little mixologist.. I see a summer full of refreshing concoctions from this guy!! (The Wader-melon & The Qcumber N' Soda are ) check, check, check it out!!

This is a great little new Sushi restaurant off of Boston street between Fells & Canton. The location seems to have had a really unlucky streak in the last handful of years with unsuccessful business having to close down within months of first opening. It looks like Katana is finally here to stay! The place is run by Chinese servers, chefs, and employees. But the quality of the sushi (fresh fish and other Japanese ingredients) is pretty excellent. For example, when I go to Japanese restaurants in Baltimore not run by Japanese people, I definitely don't expect the best quality and variety of fish, especially when the menu indicates that the selection of sushi or sashimi will be "Chef's choice". But this place the first place in Baltimore to have surprised me. I ordered a sushi platter/bento box for dinner and the components of the box were all good. Some great. Some just good. They include soup, tempura assortment, shumai dumplings, salad, etc. And you have a choice of a main. I decided to try the nigiri sushi bento. The choice of the 5 nigiri blew me away. Some were quite delicate and I know my fish... they were quite exotic and expensive fishes that you would normally have to pay a lot for if you ordered them by the piece on a specials board. I was very impressed. The presentation of food is lovely here. So is the service. They renovated the space a lot and they did a fantastic job. The inside is spacious and welcoming. I would recommend this place for lunch and dinner. Great deals. Great sushi and Japanese fare. And they also offer other Asian/Chinese dishes, if you're looking for something a little more garlic or spice-infused. Bon appetit!

I hope this place lasts! Sushi was great and there was lots of interesting special combo rolls to choose from. Some others at the table got ramen, chicken teriyaki and a noodle dish. Consensus was the ramen was great, chicken teriyaki was so-so, noodles were good. Service was quick and attentive and I love the new decor.

I don't get it. Really. Lots of great reviews, and then I go and am vastly underwhelmed (insert sad face here)! First of all, In a big believer in the quality to price ratio. If I go somewhere cheap, I don't expect a gourmet meal or anything innovative. Conversely, if I'm paying higher than average for my victuals - as was the case here - I have higher expectations. Alas, I was disappointed. The good quality was just okay, and the quantity rather sparse. The biggest villain was the scallops appetizer, which was virtually swimming in a substance that strongly resembled thousand island dressing. Yick! Our sushi and sashimi selections were nothing to write home about, with smaller quantities than the majority of sushi places. With so many sushi joints in easy reach, I'd be surprised if I find myself forking over substantial bucks here for less than stellar sushi.

I was excited about a new Asian restaurant opening up in Canton area but disappointed with this restaurant. If you are looking for an authentic Asian restaurant, this is not a place. I went there twice just to make sure I am not missing something but now I am suffering from a headache because MSG triggers my migraine and I am pretty sure their ramen has a large quantity in it. I have tried their sushi, roll and ramen and you can definitely find better food at other restaurants in Baltimore area.

Let's kick it off! This place was better than I expected. As a tuna sushi lover, I was happy to see that there was a dish called 'tuna lover'. So off the bat I was pretty excited. I can't say that it was the best tuna I have had, but definitely something I will get again since the price was also reasonable. The ramen... for what it is worth is ok as I feel it has a Chinese twist to it. Definitely my favorite in Baltimore. My favorite part of the ramen is the pork meat that comes with. Although the pork was not prepared/finished with a torch, it was still good. The cha siu add-on, was not as good. The broth does in fact need to be mixed as they do somewhat of a double broth method of ramen. The servers are awesome, hard working, and had a positive attitude throughout the evening I was there. Which was very busy since they were having their grand opening. I give this place a generous 4 stars as it is taking the ramen game in Baltimore to the next level. Will definitely return to see if their ramen game gets better with more feedback. **PLEASE MIX THE BROTH FOR THE FULL RAMEN EXPERIENCE**

Been back here a couple more times and have not been too impressed with their food anymore. The sushi is still pretty standard. It's the ramen and other Asian dishes that lack in quality and presentation. I usually don't care much about presentation, but comes out looking like a dish I threw together myself.

For as much hype as Yelp and other online reviews had for Katana I was sadly let down. The sushi was just average and they had far too many rolls that were similar to make any quick decisions. If you like everything tempura'd then this is the place for you. The service was a little awkward and we received our food before our drinks.....hello people get drinks out asap to make better money! I probably won't electively go back but this place will probably be out of business like the other 82 restuarants before it at this location.

This place just opened up. The atmosphere inside is pretty chill and comfortable. There's not too many choices, so the menu isn't overwhelming. There is a lot of tempura sushi and cooked sushi on the menu. I got the Koto Roll and the American Dream. Both spicy yellow tail with some differences. Spicy mayo on one, salmon on the other, wasabi sauce and avocado on both. They were amazing! My boyfriend got spicy pork ramen with an hard boiled egg. "It wasn't great" he says. I tasted it, it was okay. I'm not a ramen eater though, and much preferred my sushi. It wasn't super salty which was nice though. We got the gyoza for an appetizer (a fried pork dumpling). It felt nice and light and the texture and sauce were good. The inside of the dumpling lacks unique flavor though. Service is okay. Definitely fast if you need a quick meal.

Stopped in for lunch and tried some miso soup and a half dozen pieces of nigiri. I was very favorably impressed! The fish was excellent, fresh and flavorful. Overall the sushi was well prepared. Good miso soup ... even the glass of house Pino Grigio I had surprised me. I will definitely come back to try more of the menu and would recommend it others. This location has seen the death of many restaurants. I hope this one survives.

Very excited to have a new place in the neighborhood. I'm not a sushi eater, so I was happy to see that they had a full menu with plenty of other options. When we arrived, it was packed and we didn't have a reservation. We were told it would be around a 20 minute wait. We ended up only waiting around 10 minutes. The space is SO nice compared to what a dump it used to be. They did a really nice a job renovating it. Our server greeted us immediately and had our drinks to us within 5 minutes. We started with the edamame and the vegetable dumplings. Both were very good. I hope they add some specialty seasonings to the edamame instead of just plain salt in the future. For our main course, I ordered a chicken ramen and my husband ordered a spicy tuna roll and a spicy pork ramen. He really enjoyed his dishes. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of my ramen at all and decided to order something else. It was nothing that Katana did, but I guess I realized that I actually don't like ramen! I ordered the chicken udon noodles instead and they were perfect. I look forward to visiting again and trying other dishes.

Was really excited to have more ramen in Baltimore! My husband and I ordered the Spicy Ramen with pork and a bunch of different sushi rolls to share. The ramen was very flavorful and came with pieces of pork, half of a hard boiled egg, corn, one fish cake, seaweed, and bean sprouts. It came with a LOT of noodles, which made me wish that there were some more add-ins. The noodles were of a good chewy consistency. I liked that the broth was spicy but not overwhelming spicy that your mouth just burned the whole time. We ordered the salmon roll, Philly roll, sweet heart roll, and the American Dream roll. All of the fish were fresh and tasty. We were expecting the chef's rolls to be a little bigger because of the price, but they were still filling. The service was okay. It was a relatively busy Friday night, so we didn't see our waitress much. She also forgot one of my friends drink order a couple times.

I had been awaiting for the grand opening of this new sushi and "Asian food" joint. Aesthetically, everything is wonderful from the decor of the interior to the presentation of the food. However, quality and taste are a different story. Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner. We ordered the Koto roll, Salmon combination box, and the Chicken Teriyaki. First off, the price is pretty steep. $20 for the Salmon combination box, and I believe the Koto roll is about $15. Price def not worth it. The salmon was over marinated and drenched. They give you a meager amount of the dipping sauce for the tempura. The sushi looks better than it tastes. Meh, wouldn't come here again. Disappointed.

Great Atmosphere! Great Sushi! Great Cocktails! We have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Katana on Montford in Canton as soon as we saw the signs go up a month ago. We were not disappointed! As soon as we entered we were greeted by Anthony and Dan who welcomed us warmly and asked our seating preference (sushi bar, table or liquor bar). We sat at the liquor bar and I ordered a Wader-Melon cocktail that Anthony had created that afternoon. Made with fresh watermelon, it was refreshing and full of the promise of summer. I ordered two! We started with dumplings that were delicate and flavorful followed by Yellow Fin that was presented on a bed of glowing ice. The tuna was buttery and melted in your mouth. We then ordered four rolls with help from knowledgable staff. All of them were absolutely delicious and the flavors of the different rolls balanced well together. I ordered the Blue Fin Fatty for dessert! The heavier tuna was fresh and left a wonderful after note. Were were joined at the bar by another patron who requested a spicier roll. The owner assisted and even prepared a spicier sauce for her to add to the roll she had ordered. The atmosphere at Katana was as refreshing as the sushi and cocktails. A great place for cocktails, sushi and conversation. The bar is equipped with two TVs that had the Orioles game playing. The decor is mellow, comfortable and inviting. I look forward to my next visit!

I was excited about Katana finally opening up in Canton, but it's hard to review this new establishment. * Ramen: I didn't have high expectations. But gosh, I guess there's still not a decent ramen-serving place in Baltimore yet. I hate to say it and I want to be objective, but I think Katana's ramen might be one of the worst in Baltimore. Tried the spicy and the tonkotsu ramen. I think both had more of a Chinese taste rather than the traditional Japanese varieties. Both were really bland. The meat was disappointing. Not sure how to describe it, but it didn't taste right. Toppings were skimped on. You get a hard boiled, not a soft boiled egg. Noodles are likely packaged, since they were clumped together when the bowl came. I had to split them apart first. * Appetizers: The menu looked great. I was glad to see grilled squid, soft shell crab, and yellow tail jaw available. However, I opted only to get the gyoza, which was probably one of the better ones I've had in Baltimore. Pleasant surprise. * Rolls: Another pleasant surprise. There's a variety of sushi rolls available. I picked out a few that sounded good on paper, and I was very pleased with them. Definitely better than at other popular joints that feature sushi rolls. * Nigiri/sashimi: There's a decently sized a la cart menu, and I was impressed with some of the fish available (i.e. unagi, uni, etc). However, I am usually skeptical about the quality of fresh fish when the restaurant's menu features a large number of sushi rolls in addition to nigiri/sashimi. Don't know what fish distribution networks/vendors the Baltimore sushi restaurants get their fish from, but I typically go to NYC or DC for quality, traditional nigiri/sashimi. That's not a ding on Katana, it's just that I don't trust Baltimore yet. That said, I haven't tried Katana's nirigi/sashimi, but I might change my mind in the future if I crave it enough and the fact that the rolls were surprisingly good. * Dessert: Very plain menu, but the fried ice cream is decent. * Prices: Very reasonable * Service: Impeccable! Orders came out quickly. The wait staff/servers were attentive and frequently checked to see if everything was okay. Overall, I see some promise at Katana. For the ramen lovers out there, don't come with high expectations, and don't judge the place solely on ramen.

Craving ramen on a Sunday when tenten is closed, hopped on Yelp and found this new place! First off parking is a bit of a pain, ended up parking in the safeway lot which was lucky since they don't tow anymore but it was also a bit of a walk to get to the restaurant. I'm taking off a star for that as well as the fact that when I walked in I waited for someone to seat me but a young man walked in after me but before someone had said anything to me and the guy at the front assumed that we were together and the guy who walked in after me said he was picking up his order and I guess it was still assumed that we were together? Because I was completely ignored until the other young man left.... I finally got seated and I was seated behind a group of quite loud women so when my server came I asked if I could be moved a bit further away and she said that was fine which was very nice. I ordered the Gyoza to start and it was AMAZING. Cooked perfectly, the filling was delicious and flavourful and the dipping sauce on the side, wow! I also ordered tonkotsu ramen minus corn and I wanted to add cha siu but they didn't have any at the time? :( oh well that happens. Now, the restaurant owner has said they specialize in sushi, not ramen, and they are trying to improve their ramen so I judged the ramen based on knowing they know it needs improvement (and that's why I didn't remove a star for this) The egg was over cooked (hard boiled) and could have used some flavour. The noodles were not exactly what I expected but not awful, just kind of stuck together when they arrived, the pork was very tasty as was the broth though it needed to be kind of mixed with the sauce they added to bring the flavour out. I didn't realize the base ramen didn't come with bamboo shoot so I missed that topping. Overall it really was a decent bowl of ramen a few tweaks and it could be very very good. I had to order at least one sushi roll since I'm a sushi addict and that's what they say they specialize in... I chose a special roll, Dynamite roll because it happened to combine two of my favorite sushi proteins - scallop and tuna. It was actually very delicious, inside had scallop, masago, jalepeno, and crunch and was topped with white tuna and a wasabi sauce. Very spicy but very tasty and the crunch evened out the spicy (though I usually avoid tempura in my sushi personally) I will definitely come back for their sushi probably during lunch in the future because they have a decent lunch special on basic maki rolls. The waitress I had was incredibly kind and the amount of times I said thank you and she responded "you're welcome" with a smile was, well, a lot and that kind of made up for what happened when I came in....

This place seems to have all the bells and whistles from a Great Staff to Thoughtful Cocktails all the way to meals made with care. In terms of freshness, Everything is made with fresh ingredients. Fish deliveries are every two days and the presentation of the food is unlike any other place. The drinks are well thought out. They really find ways to blend flavors and even have drinks that fit into the Neighborhood their in. Overall this place is a welcome addition to Canton. Recommendations : Appetizer - Gyoza Or Waterfall Drink - The Perfect Storm Ramen - Spicy Ramen Pork Sashimi - Salmon Specialty Roll - Out of Control Roll

I was very excited to see this place open up in Canton as there are limited sushi restaurants in the area. I took my boyfriend here (who has always claimed to not be 'a sushi guy') on Friday night and was surprised to see how crowded it was- which I took to be a good thing for a new spot. We were in a rush, so did not order any appetizers and got down to business with the Crunch Roll, Alaskan Roll and Chicken Teriyaki. We waited a bit for our food, but as I said before it was crowded, so that was to be expected. The wait was totally worth it! The chicken was marinated perfectly and was a very generous portion which was nice to see for being $15. The Crunch Roll was very good, and my 'non-sushi guy' boyfriend actually really enjoyed it. However, at $10, I was expecting the pieces to be a little bigger. Some of the other specialty rolls get upwards of $15 which I think it pretty steep for 8 small pieces. Overall, I am very impressed and hope that this restaurant does well (The other restaurants in this space before had not been very successful). The prices were a little high, but I would definitely come here again. My boyfriend now is a self-proclaimed sushi lover so that says something!

Okkkkay. So you have a bunch of friends, big gathering, want sushi but not everyone eats it? Go to Katana! I went recently with a group of friends for my friend's birthday dinner. There were seven of us-sushi eaters, ramen lovers, meat and potato eaters, and nibblers. Five stars for service-they gave us a complimentary appetizer roll and also gave my friend a piece of birthday cheesecake, which were all so nice. Two stars for the food...because everything was SO sweet. We got a bunch of the appetizers-shumai, mooncake, sexy jalapeno-I got the seaweed salad and Naked Roll (no rice!), while my friends got ramen. Everything was drizzled in sweet teriyaki sauce. My salad was so sweet, the experience wasn't saweet. I wish the flavors were subtler. The ramen I did not try, but according to my ramen aficionado friends, it was mild without a lot of toppings. The shumai was flat and bland...almost like it came out of a frozen bag... Great place if you have a ton of people to appease, not somewhere if your nose is high-up-n-dere sushi land. Sorry, snobs. Because the service was so great...three stars. I may be back to try more and give it another chance!

I ordered the strawberry lovin cocktail. It had a nice flavor but was overly sweet. I asked Summer, my waitress, to bring me extra club soda and a lime. This lightened the drink & made it more refreshing. The miso soup was slightly salty, but had a rich flavor. It had the perfect amount of scallion and seaweed. The srimp shumai had a sodden texture that compromised the delicate flavor. Also the dipping sauce was a diluted soy sauce. I recommend skipping this dish. The sushi was excellent we ordered three rolls and some sashimi. All were delicous and very fesh. The customer service here is also excellent.

The miso ramen was less than okay. The noodles were the only memorable part. The broth was underwhelming, the roasted pork essentially nonexistent and absent of flavor, and the egg hard boiled. So this place gets three stars rather than two due to their sushi. Highly recommend sticking to the sushi and if you want some spice, go for the sexy jalapeno.

I have never tried ramen before, so I was delighted that a ramen restaurant opened up. From the other businesses that were in that location, Katana definitely did a great job of upgrading the inside. My friends and started with the pork dumplings. The dipping sauce that came with it, I almost wanted to drink. It was THAT good! I then ordered the spicy pork broth with chicken ramen. I really enjoyed the broth! Normally I put a lot of siracha in my soup, but I didn't need to for this ramen. It wasn't overly spicy, it was just enough to have a little kick. Very flavorful. My friend ordered the regular pork broth with pork. She said her broth was not very flavorful and had to add soy sauce which also didn't add a whole lot of flavor. With that being said, if you go, get the spicy pork broth!

The ramen was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!? I got the spicy ramen. The broth was bland at best. There was spice, but that's about it. Really lacking in richness and dimension. Also, the noodles were the wavy noodles that tasted like the dried kind you get with instant ramen. Might be a preference thing, but I like the fresh noodle more than the wavy kind. Very skimpy with the toppings. Really, you're going to skimp on corn??The pork was tasteless... Oh and the egg!? It's supposed to be a soft boiled egg, where yolk is still runny. This was definitely a hard boiled egg, bordering on an overcooked hardboiled egg -- the edges of the yolk were dark!?

A lot has changed since I used to live Canton, especially within the realm of dining options. Two things that Canton lacked was 1) a good Chinese food restaurant/carry-out and 2) a good neighborhood sushi restaurant. I can now strike one of those two items off my list. Enter Katana! Fresh fish, friendly employees and great selection of food and fully stocked bar! I popped in off the whim and was very impressed of what they have done to the place. The interior is beautifully decorated and provides a nice asian ambience. The bar looks great and is both alluring and inviting to passerby's. I say at the sushi bar and the chef's soo nice to treat me to a "hidden-menu" appetizer called the "Tuna Bomb". One of the most delicious dumplings I have ever tasted!! Now I had lived in Canton for almost a decade before moving away. And I have seen the many many restaurant incarnations that have frequented this location. I truly hope Katana succeeds where they have failed. I hope they embrace the amazing neighborhood of Canton, have great Happy Hour Specials, host events events with the local clubs and prosper. They certainly have nailed the first steps with the restaurant and food. So in conclusion, definitely try Katana out for yourself. I was very pleased and confident that you will be too.

The ramen/sushi here is AMAZING! Must get the ramen when you go! Order the Ninja Roll and Koto roll if you can handle the spicy kick. Nothing is super salty so you don't feel huge afterwards. They also have great drinks and the service is excellent. 5 STARS!!

Words can't describe how nice it is that Baltimore finally has a solid sushi place with good food! In the short time since they've opened, I've had dinner here and ordered take-out. Their staff is helpful, very friendly, and on top of things. They do have gluten-free soy sauce (a big plus!). Although, I can only speak for the vegetable rolls, everything I've had has been excellent! I can finally stop missing New York sushi because I've found a great replacement!

I admit, this was probably totally my fault. I had the nerve to order padthai instead of sushi. I hear the sushi is amazing and from the little chef's taste that the sushi chef offered us I couldn't agree more. But the padthai was bland. There are other places to get good padthai in the city so save yourself the trouble and get the sushi.

Full disclosureI am a sushi snob and am loyal to Edo Sushi and Fusion in Baltimore County. BUT my daughter brought me here Tuesday and it was fab! Service was super fast-almost too fast. My only suggestion would be to add more naked sushi items. Well worth the drive from the county.

It's good, but I think four stars would be misleading. I like sushi a lot, and this place would have been an easy four if the chefs rolls or whatever weren't between $15-17. These were like the regular rainbow and dragon type rolls and, for the quality, $10-12 like other similar sushi restaurants would be more appropriate. I am always happy to pay extra for something excellent, but this falls short of worth the money.

The happy hour special is actually a pretty good deal. Just make sure to compare the prices on the happy hour menu versus the actual menu, as a few were not that discounted. The drinks were absolutely delicious and the sushi was very well-prepared.

5 STARS!!

(4)Stephanie M.

(3)Genevieve L.
went for lunch and another time for dinner.
(4)Eric N.
(3)Matthew L.

(5)Samantha B.
We had the butterfly roll, crazy spider and California roll. All excellent! The 6-year old in our group devoured the shrimp tempura and the California roll. Bartender mixes excellent cocktails and our server was polite and very attentive. We will definitely be back! Great addition to the neighborhood!
(5)Sandy M.
(5)Jenny T.

(4)Emily F.
(4)Pat M.

(2)Christopher W.
(4)Jay L.
Been back here a couple more times and have not been too impressed with their food anymore. The sushi is still pretty standard. It's the ramen and other Asian dishes that lack in quality and presentation. I usually don't care much about presentation, but comes out looking like a dish I threw together myself.
(3)Keith W.
(3)Kristen J.
(3)Eric O.

(4)Arielle D.
The sushi here is authentic and well prepared. They also use fresh ginger. I can't wait to return to try the ramen noodles!
(4)Den F.
(4)Kelli H.

(3)Selvi C.
(4)Ed W.
(3)Jocelyn O.
(4)Michelle W.

(4)Terri R.
The ramen/sushi here is AMAZING! Must get the ramen when you go! Order the Ninja Roll and Koto roll if you can handle the spicy kick. Nothing is super salty so you don't feel huge afterwards. They also have great drinks and the service is excellent. 5 STARS!!
(5)Katie V.
(5)Alexandra H.
(3)Laura S.
(4)Whit M.
(3)Whitney A.
The happy hour special is actually a pretty good deal. Just make sure to compare the prices on the happy hour menu versus the actual menu, as a few were not that discounted. The drinks were absolutely delicious and the sushi was very well-prepared.
(4)William T.
Solid ramen. Good sushi. Wine, sake, abd beer selection. Take out and online ordering. Definitely above average.

(4)Stephanie M.

(4)Terri R.
The ramen/sushi here is AMAZING! Must get the ramen when you go! Order the Ninja Roll and Koto roll if you can handle the spicy kick. Nothing is super salty so you don't feel huge afterwards. They also have great drinks and the service is excellent. 5 STARS!!

(2)Matthew L.

(3)Genevieve L.
went for lunch and another time for dinner.
(4)Eric N.

(4)Emily F.
(4)Pat M.

(4)Jay L.
Been back here a couple more times and have not been too impressed with their food anymore. The sushi is still pretty standard. It's the ramen and other Asian dishes that lack in quality and presentation. I usually don't care much about presentation, but comes out looking like a dish I threw together myself.
(3)Keith W.
(3)Kristen J.
(3)Eric O.

(4)Arielle D.
The sushi here is authentic and well prepared. They also use fresh ginger. I can't wait to return to try the ramen noodles!
(4)Den F.
(4)Kelli H.

(3)Selvi C.
(4)Ed W.

(4)Michelle W.
(1)Ron H.
They just opened last week and the food and service have been great! I've been back 4 times. The sushi was delicious, the Ramen was perfect, the salmon teriyaki for lunch was real tasty. Great spot I'm canton.
(5)Sandy M.
(5)Jenny T.
(5)Katie V.
(5)Alexandra H.
(3)Laura S.
(4)Whit M.
