Hudson St. Stackhouse is a nice and laidback neighborhood bar and a restaurant. Great place to hang out with friends at night. On Thursdays, Hudson St. Stackhouse has a killer deal: $12.95 for a 12oz New York Strip Steak, a veggie side (choice of baked potato, sauteed spinach, or sauteed broccoli), salad, and dessert. 1) Salad: very mediocre -- just iceberg lettuce with chopped onions and tomatoes tossed here and there. It was a large serving, but not fulfilling at all. 2) Steak: large enough for two people. Pretty good -- not the best, but it definitely hit the spot. 3) Veggie sides: mediocre. I could've made this myself. 4) Dessert: choice of a Haagen-Dazs ice cream cup or a generous slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. The cheesecake was SO GOOD. Although the salad and the veggie sides were disappointing, the generous portions of steak and cheesecake completely hit the spot. My friends and I all had a great time. And at $12.95, coming here for dinner is a bargain!!

I love this place. Friendly staff and a great selection of beers. Don't come here for a red wine and a salad. Get the crab pretzel and a belgian trippel and enjoy one of the more authentic Baltimore bars around.
(4)Jonathan L.
I love that HSS is off the beaten path in Canton(GPS didn't help much). It blends in with the neighborhood with a flat facade, but much worth it compared to the Square. Every time i have been here(Twice!) Crowd is usually around ten with five ordering food. Wednesdays are half off German and Belgian beers. The draught tap is very respectable and changes around enough. This is on my list of bars during football and hockey season.

I've been here a good handfull of times over the past year and I've always enjoyed myself. I lvoe the fact that it's off the beaten, crowded path of Canton Square. The decor inside is very nice and they have lots of beer on tap, lots of different kinds of beer on tap. I really enjoy that. It's a great place to go for happy hour or to start your night out with some drinks. They have a couple tv's as well if you wanted to watch a sports game. I have gotten a sandwich there before and it was good, nothing to brag about but good.
(4)Kate P.
Great beer with higher than normal alcohol content. Make sure you walk or have a designated driver because you cannot have just one sip or even one beer when there are so many to choose from. I enjoyed the beer selection and food. Good neighboorhood find.

Stopped in here for more drinks after brunch at Saute about a week ago. The bartender was really nice and very experienced/knowledgeable. The place wasn't too crowded. They've got your basic domestic beers and specials, as well as lots of choices on craft beers. I ordered some dry wings (extra crispy w/ sauces on the side) and they were delicious and came out exactly to order. Casual and friendly place to chill with great beer choices. Not too pricey either.

YO! This is a hockey bar! I came across this pub while I was looking at events for the 2010 Baltimore Beer Week. It said that the Stackhouse was slinging $2.50 Franziskaners during the Caps game. I was sold. $2.50 for my favorite beer during my favorite sport. Sold! The space is nice, clean, friendly and they have a lot of classic beer decor which is always fun to look at. They have a bubble hockey game that people were playing before the game and during intermission. About 30 minutes before game time the bar was filled with Caps jerseys and it was a celebratory crowd. The atmosphere was great, people were cool and service was prompt. I'm gonna have to give them a second chance on the burger though. I asked for medium rare and got medium well with a charred outside. For the price I paid it wasn't all that big and the fries were so-so. I've been told that the burgers are really good so I may have had an off night. But after a once over of their taps I felt that this bar knew it's beer selection and prices were good. I'll be back.
(4)Karen K.
So yes, they have a decent beer selection and yes Wednesdays are the day the go to this place due to their specials. The food and service are below average and the friendliness of the staff is even worse. Suggestion: only go there if you are really craving decent beer on Wednesday's.... otherwise stay away!

Not easy to spot right away since there is no large sign, just the name of the place neatly lettered in small letter on the front door. Would have thought it was just another rowhome as you drove by. It's right across from the Safeway parking lot. The beer selection was surprising. I saw Tsingtao from China, Sapporo from Japan, and something from Thailand. Place was very clean, staff was super attentive and nice. Our guy, I think his name was Teddy, took our orders quickly and promptly refilled my wife's sodas whenever it was low. We only had appetizers but they were delicious. Old bay wings were great, the mussels were delicious.
(4)Jeff L.
An enjoyable experience. The caprese salad was good with some added balsamic., the salmon sandwich good, and the fries excellently seasoned. The ravioli was also pretty good. The staff here were very pleasant and accommodating.
(4)Jen H.
I gave Hudson Street Stackhouse a "3" instead of a "4" mainly because their food is not awesome. Boyfriend ordered a mahi mahi sandwich- literally it was a piece of mahi mahi on a hamburger bun with some lettuce tomatoes and mayo. I could have made that at home. I ordered their mussels which was pretty good- had a nice kick to it and it was only $10. Their beer selection is awesome however so if you are looking for a place to grab some good beer and maybe have some appetizers- this is the place to go. I wouldn't come here specifically for dinner; more like a post dinner type of place.
(3)Mel C.
One of the best beer selections without dealing with the "yeah dudes" that circle Max's on the weekends. I love the sour beers, so I'm always delighted that they usually have a couple on rotation. The bartenders always give great recommendations when I want to try something new too. Is the food the best in the word? Maybe not, but it's pretty decent for pub grub.
(5)Zoey M.
First off, I'm rating this as a beer bar and not for the food. This place has an amazing selection of rare Belgian beers and the prices for happy hour are unreal. Unreal. $2 off any draft beer is just crazy talk. We spent a fantastic afternoon here. The staff is knowledgeable and I love the overall vibe of the place. Plus, they had hockey on the tvs! I'm sure when it gets busier the self-service for food and drink is a pain in the ass, but for a lazy Saturday afternoon it was just fine. We had a crab pretzel, which was very good. I also had a shrimp salad sandwich and it had huge, perfectly cooked shrimp inside with light mayo. Just the way I like it. Oh, and this place actually has parking near it. It's really more of a neighborhood bar than typical Canton crazy crowded bar. Probably another reason I loved it. Did I mention the beer? Holy crap. I'd rather drink here than Max's any day of the week. It doesn't have the sheer volume of selection but it also doesn't have the Fells Point Douchebag Contingent either. A plus for me.
(5)Chrissie D.
I was looking for a neighborhood bar to hang out at for decent bar food and a good crowd. Good crowd = check! Good food = No! My grilled salmon was pratically inedible. It was definitely frozen and then I don't know how it was actually cooked but the outside was crispy and dry and the inside almost raw. The parts that were not raw tasted really....bad (I can't think of a better word to decribe it). On hte up side, the bartenders are friendly and helpful and the crowd is great.
(2)Phil D.
Good place for beer snobs as they have a nice variety of brews. The food is slightly above average for a bar. The service is ok - nothing memorable good or bad. It is frustrating that you have to order food from the crowded bar if you sit at a table in the bar section.
(3)Jim H.
Great place. Great 1/2 price Burger Tuesday and reduced beer prices from their better than average beer list during happy hour. Staff is always really nice. Tonight suggested the sauteed spinach as a substitute for the fries. Sometimes the music can be a little loud if you are trying to carry on a conversation, but the staff is willing to adjust if possible. Always clean, always good, reliable food and drink. Definitely should be a neighborhood destination.
(4)Bill V.
This us a great local place I really enjoyed. The food is pretty solid and the portions generous, but what really surprised me was the beer. I love American craft beer, but place colors outside the lines a bit when it comes to beer selection. You can find the usual American IPAs and Ales, but they also have nice craft Pilsners, some really unusual Italian beers, and a wide selection of Saisons from both the U.S. And Belgium. On top of it all, it had the friendly service and comfortable feel you come to expect from a corner bar in Baltimore. I'll be back
(4)Christina P.
This is a great local hangout. They specialize in Belgian or Belgian style beers, but they do offer a wide variety of other beers on tap. And for those who don't like craft beers, they carry Boh (they give you the cap too) and bud light bottles. Their food is excellent too. Best deal is their steak night for $14.99 and their $6 burger nights. They use Creekstone Farms steaks and burgers which are divinely raised meat products. I usually get take advantage of their happy hour ($2 off drafts) and $6 wing deals. It is pub style and there is no outdoor seating. Bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. You should definitely check this place out and take advantage of their great deals!
(5)Bailey D.
Good food and good beer. Friendly bartenders that make great suggestions. Had steamed shrimp and crab cake sandwich. Great U-shaped bar thats easy to talk to your friend next to you without feeling overshadowed by the many guys that show up for sports TV.
(4)Hannah S.
When people think Canton, they think the "square" but what they should be thinking is Hudson Street. I've been a few times and it's safe to say the food isn't 5 star worthy, but it's good bar food. Stick with the burgers. Or the Pot Stickers. I'd avoid the pretzels. Too salty. But enough about the food. The beer is what we're here for. The craft beer selection is top notch and constantly changing. It's an awesome vibe. The TV's are always playing whatever sports game is on and there are a couple of table games in the back. This is most definitely a neighborhood gem.
(4)Casey B.
The beer list is long, the drunk food abounds. Sampled the fried green beans, mussels, and the infamous crab pretzel. Everything was excellent, but this is not a place to come when you want to eat a meal that will make you feel... shall we say... light. The crab pretzel was the most noteworthy, just because I'd never had anything like it before. A rope of soft pretzel, covered in crab dip, with melted cheese on top. So gluttonous, so delicious. I'm not from the area, but I would probably come back if I ever find myself in Charm City again.
(4)Alyssa S.
The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was just right on a Thursday night, not too crowded not too slow. The food was really good, I had the chicken Chesapeake with fries. The crab dip was perfect Maryland style and there was even old bay on the fries! And you can never go wrong with a tall Tanqueray and ginger ale.
(4)Brandi P.
First time stopping in to the Stackhouse and I wasn't dissapointed. I think the menu was pleasantly well-rounded and provided a little bit of everything. I was able to get seafood and my boyfriend who despises seafood could get his typical manly burger. The bartender was super friendly and the food was on point... plus they had TV's galore. I mean, you really can't ask for more form a local pub! Sidenote: Check out Venice Tavern in Highlandtown. Apparently the owner of the Stackhouse recently bought out the "basement bar" and plans to give it a new facelift but keep it traditional in its unique sort of way!
(4)Jon H.
No other bar in the area comes close with quality of service and overall atmosphere. I would go here every night if I could.

A geography lesson: Canton is the Sahara desert and Canton Square is the Red Sea. In between are innumerable oasis scattered amidst Baltimore's most tranquil row-homes. While on foot along the great pilgrimage from Kissling's to Of Love and Regret, rest-stop at Baltimore Taphouse, Gitan, Smaltimore, Pearl's Sports Bar, Mahaffey's, Mike McGovern's.. the list goes on. Each watering hole has its own unique charm. Hudson St has three: 1) The front window's offer an amazing breeze. Name three bars you frequent that have open windows. 2) It satisfies a Sunday Funday's main vice: beer. Food is passable, chicken tenders and wraps are basic, fries can go uneaten. You come here to wet your whistle with one of Charm City's Top 5 taplists (OLaR, Max's, Alewife, Mahaffey's). Boasting an extensive 20+ list with oddities not seen elsewhere and extensive style variety, at least 10-12. 3) It fulfills a Sunday Funday's other vice: football. A few reviews mention the small TVs. Don't be alarmed.. there are at least 8 of them in clusters around the 20-person bar, itself surrounded by bar tables. Each cluster has the same mix of games. What all this geography adds up to is that you can watch any game Hudson show from any seat in the place, bellied up to the bar or reclining at your table. If you're lucky, you'll also have a cool fall breeze in your face.

I usually prefer watching the Ravens from the comfort of my own living room, and my fiance is not much of a sports better. However, we found ourselves in a predicament a couple weeks ago: he bet a hunk of change on the Bills game, so we were on the hunt for a laid-back establishment where we could watch the Bills and Ravens simultaneously. Located just a few blocks from our place, Hudson Street Stackhouse was a natural choice. We camped out for the afternoon cheering on our respective teams while taking advantage of the food and drink specials. While I left a bit sad after a Ravens loss, my fiance left ecstatic because the Bills won and covered the spread. We'll be back to watch more football!
(4)Dave E.
Craft beer done right...unpretentiously. Large selection of rotating taps w/ American craft breweries and Belgians. Appreciate the proper glassware and eclectic beer list and even more that this is a laid back place. Food is solid as well, love their burgers (always cooked to the right temperature). Also family/kid friendly which is a plus.
(4)Cherpumple F.
To be super honest, I had been avoiding this place for years because my prejudice against bro-type establishments. BUT, I recently went...twice in one week! Because their beer selection is fantastic, and it even changes daily. Great for post-work-gimme-EtOH-ASAP with your friends. Maybe not so much the food, although their Stackhouse Fries are pretty legit with cheese melted all over the top. Not too bro-y either. Shame on me for having been judgmental.
(3)Nick K.
Plenty of beers to choose from, always a nice rotating variety and most of the bartenders are good (more on this later). It's a nice neighborhood spot that is always great to meet a group of friends at. It does get slammed sometimes, but that's just a testament to the place's draw. However, while most of the service is pretty great, a place that lives and thrives off a neighborhood shouldn't employ people who are always abrasive and miserable. One bartender in particular makes it difficult to return on the night she works. Arms folded and eyes rolling is no way to work in the service industry. And it's a shame because the staff on a whole is great and the food isn't bad and it's a great weekly hang out spot. 4.5 star beer, 4 star food 3.5 star service, based on a 1 + 4.5 + 4.5 + 4.5 from the four bartenders I've experienced
(3)Lauren H.
First off, let me say that I am very disappointed Stackhouse does not have higher ratings. I lived in Canton and went here all the time. It's a great neighborhood bar. A. This place is always clean! Yes ladies, clean! No disgusting bar bathrooms here. B. Everyone who works here is super friendly C. They have a great beer selection and D. I love the decor of this bar. If you want a true bawlmer experience, go to Stackhouse!
(5)Alison C.
Stopped in for a Friday night meet up with a few friends. Service was great. Turkey burger was amazing, was not too impressed with the crab pretzel. The orange crush cocktail though? OMG!!! Busy and crowded, but the bartenders are more than attentive, service was great!
(4)Phil T.
Most people are on here for food, so to start off, food is Great! With big portions and daily specials. Bartenders are great. And the Happy hour is real.
(5)Annette B.
Food was awesome! The burgers are phenomenal--fresh taste, cooked perfectly. Buffalo chicken wings were delicious! Good prices and very attentive staff. Will definitely go back!
(5)Stephanie M.
When I think beer bar in Baltimore, I think Stackhouse. The same servers are there every night and do a great job making sure you find the right beer for your pallet. I feel like a kid in a candy shop reviewing their extensive and ever rotating beer list. There are always some obscure brews that are worth your time. I typically look up their beers on beer advocate a head of time so I can try one that is highly acclaimed by the beer snobs. The food is very good. My favorite is their meatball sub which could easily feed a small village. If you are in to hockey they love it here. If I had any recommendation for improvement it would be the small televisions. I've seen computer monitors that were bigger than the TVs here.
(5)Bob L.
I'd consider myself a semi-regular at the Stackhouse having been here about a dozen times over the last 9 months so I think I've got a pretty well-rounded and informed opinion of the place. I've got two main reasons for my continued loyalty: proximity to my current residence and the beer, my God, the beer (cue Homer Simpson drooling sound). Unfortunately, my last visit left me a bit disappointed. The Stackhouse has one of the best draught beer selections in Canton, second only to JD's Smokehouse, so for this reason alone they deserve at least three stars. The taps are constantly rotating, they have tons of local and regional crafts and their Belgian selection is brilliant. The food is OK, nothing that'll blow your mind, just OK - bar grub perfect for increasing your gastrostamina during a night of multicultural tap hopping. Here's what we had that night: Onion Rings - Battered, crispy and perfect. This is how o-rings are done. I don't recall if they were beer battered or not, but they should be. The Dom - Basically an Italian sub. Nothing special. They overdid it with the olive oil and the capicola ham was pretty chewy. The bread was nice and fresh. Don't bother with this one. Flew Da Koop (I really hate corny menu names) - It's a grilled chicken breast, topped with cheddar, swiss, bacon and BBQ sauce served on a Kaiser roll. The chicken was moist, the bacon crispy and the sauce smokey and sweet. The bun was cold and a bit on the stale side. Predictable, but not a bad sandwich. My last visit occurred on a Thursday night around 6pm. The bar was basically full and just about all of the tables were open. We took a seat next to the window up front. Avoid the two-top to the right of the door as you're walking in. It's really unstable and you're likely to spill some beer if you choose to park here. The one to the left is much better. Here's where things went downhill. Gripe #1: I know the tables in the bar area are all "self serve", but I'm over it. This policy is annoying. Normally we sit at the bar and have had great service (how can you not? they're right there) so this was a first for us, but having to go to the bar and push myself between patrons to order a drink? And up the pain-in-the-ass meter to 11 when you have to order food. I can't imagine the chore this would become for a party of four or more. Add writing down the entire table's order to your to-do list. Note: be prepared to haul your own side plates and silverware back to your table. If you've got a large party better bring a backpack. At least they bring your food to the table when it's done. I was half expecting to hear the bartender shout at me from behind the bar, "Hey, food's ready. Come get it." Suggestion #1: If you've got tables in the bar area have someone leave the cozy confines of the bar and take care of them. Made me wonder what I was actually tipping for at the end of the meal. Gripe #2: When I have to shout at the bartender who's only a few feet away from me and then find it necessary to repeat my orders several times because the juke is so loud my eardrums are bleeding something needs to be done. Pubs should be places where one can carry on a conversation without having to worry about losing your voice before the night's out. Suggestion #2: Turn down the damn music. If I want NIHL I'll go to a concert at the 8x10. Sure, I'm a bit harsh sometimes but we're hardest on the ones we love, right? I'm enamored by the Stackhouse's beer list but underwhelmed by their food and service. Maybe that's just who this place is and wanting them to change may only set me up for disappointment down the road. Perhaps it better if I just accept them for what they are warts and all. Maybe over time these annoyances will become tolerable eccentricities. Or maybe I'll fall in love with another beer list and forget all about them.
(3)Cory C.
This place is a nice gem in the city. The staff was beyond friendly even on an incredibly busy Saturday night. They were accommodating as well as I wanted to watch a non-local hockey match when the Caps were on, they gladly switched on of the TVs. The food here was surprisingly good, the crab pretzel was the best I have had, and I like to eat. I also had the Annapolis chicken sandwich, which was very good. We did also get the Caesar wrap, which lacked some flavor. The drink list was fantastic. We went at 8 on a Saturday and the place was packed. It was difficult to even get to the door. It was -very- loud as it is a open floor plan and open bar. I think that when I return to this place, and I will, I will not be going at peak drinking hours when a Caps game is on. Overall I will certainly be back to this place and will recommend it to others.
(4)Albert H.
Food... meh. Beer... yay! Plenty of taps with a wide range of stuff and they rotate in new things all the time. The bartenders are all great and know their stuff when it comes to the beer (can't say the same about all the bars in the area). They have tv's but they're all pretty small, so it's no sports bar really.
(3)Bryan V.
Been here three times now and it's always been a good experience, except for the wobbly table in front (pointed out by Bob L.) and that one lacrosse bro who spilled his beer all over me and didn't apologize. The bartenders are friendly, attentive and know their stuff. There are a heck of a lot of great beers to choose from, on rotating taps, so there's always something new when I go back. The last beer I remember having was a Burley Oak Rude Boy imperial red ale, which hit the spot. The food is decent, about what you'd expect. Certainly nothing to complain about if you're going mainly for the beer list. I've had the chicken Chesapeake sandwich a couple of times and it's pretty solid. Having to order from the bar can be difficult if it's crowded, but bartenders deliver the food so it's not a big deal. Overall, I would say that the reliable service and excellent beer selection make the Stackhouse one of the better bars of its kind in the neighborhood.
(4)Kristina R.
I've been coming to this place for a few years and I must say that it is a 'go to' spot of mine when I want a chill evening/afternoon without all the 'hustle and bustle' of canton or fells. Huge beer selection and the service has always been stellar. The food is ok... nothing fancy. Just your typical pub food. I wouldnt come here for the food of course. It the atmosphere and beer I'm looking for in this place and it is spot on!
(4)Michelle B.
Best. Bartender. Ever. Seriously. Usually a bar is just a bar for me because even though I enjoy a good beer I don't know enough about them to care about how many different drafts a place has on tap. But Stackhouse provided the best beer drinking experience I've ever had. So my friend and I sit at the bar and start looking at the menu of what they've got on tap. Confronted with so many choices (at least 20!) I immediately get overwhelmed and tell my friend how I know nothing about beer. He asks me what I usually like and I give him the vaguest answer possible ("nothing too hoppy and nothing too heavy."). Mere seconds later the bartender slides a little sample cup in front of me and tells me to give that a try. It was the Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat and it was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. When I was ready for round 2 I asked if he had any other suggestions. He thought for a moment and then poured me a sample of Palm and it again hit the mark. When my friend ordered a 3rd and I said I'd had enough the bartender (whose name I woefully never found out) immediately placed a big glass of water in front of me. Talk about anticipating my needs! I can't heap enough praise on Stackhouse. Go now!
(5)Erik B.
Went here on a whim, just based off of the look of the exterior. This bar has a great beer menu, and a great choice of entrees to choose from. The burgers were fantastic, and the bartender definitely knew his stuff when it came to the brews. All in all, a good place to check out if you're in the area.
(4)Fred K.
A hockey bar in Baltimore. Beautiful! Came here based on recommendation from bartender at Cardinal Tavern (another great place) on best place to watch Game 2 of Bruins/Blackhawks Cup finals. Had just seen O's - Red Sox game at Camden Yards so many Bruins had filtered in, as well as lots of locals. A very friendly place. Great beer selection, particularly local brews - Heavy Seas, etc. Pretty good bar food eats. The crab dip pretzel was awesome - lots of crab, cheese and a really chewy pretzel loaf made the appetizer almost a meal on its own. Steak & Cake had nice lump crabcake with a rather bland elation steak, overall pretty good.
(4)Stephanie I.
I was really impressed with my recent visit to stackhouse. We've come here quite a few times, but nothing on the menu really popped out to us that made us want to come back to eat. They recently updated their menu and it looks like a real legit menu instead of the computer paper print out. This place can get a little loud, but I really like the setup of the bar. There isn't any table service, or at least there wasn't at the time, so you do have to order at the bar. I LOVED my veggie burger. It was really delicious and flavorful. My husband also got another burger and really liked it. The menu has something for everyone - your typical bar food, but also entrees and pastas. I definitely have been wanting to go back for steak night to try it out. They also are a hockey bar which is pretty cool. We'll be back!
(4)Tom N.
Could not say enough good things about this place. Beer Menu = 5/5 - always a huge list of microbrews / imports. Happy Hour = 5/5 - $2 off all drafts (so most awesome imports will only run you ~$3-5 per pint) Food = 5/5 - HIGHLY recommend the seared ahi tuna entree with seaweed salad. Vibes = 4/5 - always a great crowd + they have bubble hockey. My only negative is that it's not the biggest place and seating is somewhat limited.
(5)Justin K.
I finally had a free Saturday to check out the local "Hockey Bar" in Canton. Rumor had it they played hockey on the TV and they had a good beer list. So we trucked on down. Upon entering it was pretty empty, most likely because it was early afternoon, but there was a hockey game on and no one was at the bar watching it! WHAT!? No hockey fans in sight. Disappointing, but oh well, moving on. We didn't really know what to do when we walked in because no one greeted us so we just sat at the bar. We did notice that there were open tables in the back of the place and a couple of high tops surrounding the bar. We snagged a beer menu and began to peruse. Upon first glancing over the beer menu, nothing really stood out to me, which is fine because I usually have a few beers in my head that I want to try and unfortunately this place had none of them. There were a lot of standard issue beers on there, Dogfish 60 Minute, Celebration, Heavy Seas Brews, Guinness, Boddington's, Lagunita's etc. However, there were a few Belgium brews on the list that I have never heard of before. To start I went with the Oud Beersel Framboise. This beer was a little disappointing because it was way too sweet for my taste buds. So, onto the next one, De Ranke Pere Noel. This was another Belgium and this one was much better. A little less sweet and a little more tart. So while we were sitting just looking over the menu and enjoying our brews we realized that the music was REALLY loud and it gradually kept getting louder. There were maybe 7 people at the bar and couple people were in the back restaurant part so no need to blare music. But, you literally had to yell at each other to communicate. At least the music they were playing was ok and tolerable but I would expect them to have the sound of the hockey game on, being they are a hockey bar, wrong. But then all ill thoughts were forgotten when I ordered my final beer, the De Struise Tsjeeses. This was probably the best beer I have ever had in my life. It was so complex. At first it was sweet, almost too sweet; but as I drank the beer it almost became more and more sour tasting. It was unreal. It was so good I almost started weeping right there at the bar. I immediately jotted down my thoughts on this beverage in Evernote so I would not forget! I will never forget! I looked up the brewery and found that it was only a seasonal brew (SAD!) and I noticed something else, they misspelled the name of the beer. So this is a beer bar that misspelled the name of a Belgium beer?? That is not paying attention to detail and embarrassing if you ask me (See photo evidence). Is it picky of me, yeah; but if you want to be a top notch beer bar you need to get your product right! Overall, I will come back here. I did not try any of the food because nothing really stood out to me so maybe next time. It looked like it was a pain to get food if you were not seated at the bar. People behind us were coming up to the bar and ordering food around us. Sort of annoying but oh well. The 2 bucks off of draft brews is nice, however if I may make a suggestion to please turn the music down, these beers you serve are strong and meant to be enjoyed over some conversation, similar to a wine. If that is what your plan is, you may want to avoid here because my voice was definitely cracking by the time we left.

Went there for a beer event. The place is well lit, sport bar kinda place with a few flat screens here and there. I unfortunately did not have the chance to taste their food, which looked quite exquisite I may add. The service was great and they went out the way to accommodate a large crowd. The best thing is that they offer a superb variety is great beers, that often time you cannot find anywhere else. So overallI can only think of a couple bad things about this place. 1. Parking is to say the least horrible!! I have a small vehicle and it took me a while. Also, do not park at Safeway, because they will tow you. If this happens, I TOLD YOU SO! 2. The places is EXTREMELY loud! My gosh I could not hear myself think. I will more likely try their food on a less busy evening. Looking forward to it.

I've introduced quite a few people to this bar now. EXCELLENT beer choices with a knowledgeable staff. The food is typical bar food but difficult bar food is my favorite!

The stack house has a great, GREAT beer list, with tons of stuff on tap. Old favorites, imports, microbrews, stuff I've never heard of... plus the occasional hard cider or mead. It's a great place for major beer fans, or the relatively uninitiated. I fall into the second category. Luckily the bartenders are willing and able to help you find something that fits the bill (although it is hard to hear each other, the music is pretty loud.) They atmosphere is clean, nothing too special. Basically pub-like. I haven't had much of the food, but what I have tried is on the better side of pub grub. The crab pretzel, though, is amazing. I want to go back there just for that. It's worth a visit if you like a casual spot with a lot of beer selection. The prices are average (a lot of the imported stuff is just inherently expensive), so check out happy hour for a bit better deal. Beware that it isn't always easy to park nearby.

This was a go to place for me for a while. I went there mainly because of the beer, the glassware they served it in, and the knowledgeable and friendly bartenders. I always went on weeknights. Then two things changed. The glassware was now more generic, diminishing the enjoyment of drinking a world class beer, and the bartenders changed to individuals far less friendly and knowing very little about the beers themselves. (Apparently the other bartenders now worked weekends). This is enough to to drop it a star and convince me to try out other locals.

I used to go here quite often and recently went back after about a year. I forgot what a good bar this is. The service was excellent, the burgers are good, and the beer selection is nice. I can't say enough how good the service was: knowledgeable about the beers, friendly, and attentive and it was just one of the bartenders who seemed to have a lot of other customers to take care of. I can't say much about the food other than the burger, which was great and cooked correctly. Beer selection is good, but focused too much on high alcohol/high hop ales. A ton of IPAs but not a lot of regular Pale Ales, Lagers, or more balanced beers. That being said, with the number of taps they have, I found a few that were good. TVs/HD feed might need updating if you are there to catch a game, but I quibble; it's a great bar.

If I lived in Baltimore I would be here regularly. I only had one wing, which was great, but the reason for my love lies in the beer. Who doesn't love Belgium beer? What's even more exciting?? They had strawberry beer!!!! I'm the weirdo who consistently buys framboise and mixes it with a white Belgium beer. Oh man it's delicious. Framboise is too fruity so I go 1/4 framboise and 3/4 white bier. It is perfect! The problem with this is there is always an uneven amount of beer, framboise is typically sold in larger bottles, sometimes 32 ounces and let's face it, I don't always want that much beer. Case-in-point, I was in B-more for the 1/2 marathon and after running I wanted something light and refreshing. Hudson Street answered my prayers with their strawberry beer. It's not a framboise mix, it's a light beer with strawberry flavoring and it's incredible. Swoooon!

Service is good, beer is GREAT, and the bar is very cool. First couple of times I came, I had no complaints. Didn't love my most recent trip because it took forever to get the bartenders attention.

I went here because I was searching for places to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs (to root for the Caps, by the way...) and found the Stackhouse toted as "the hockey bar" in Baltimore. Some of the reviews I read had me nervous about visiting, but I consider myself adventurous and decided to drop by one Saturday afternoon. I already saw a bunch of Caps fans in the bar, which was a good sign. However, upon inspection of the TVs in the place, my stomach dropped. They were TINY. I feel like I've seen computer monitors that were bigger than the TV! I am not one of those people who want to see a game on a 72 inch screen, but this was ridiculous. We were already there and I wasn't going anywhere (not with the game about to start...!) The beer list is AMAZING. I am not a beer drinker, mind you, but the list was SO impressive that I had to try some. I actually found two beers that I liked!! One was the "Loverbeer Madamin", which was an Italian ale. Very sweet and tasty. The second, which I feel real beer drinkers wouldn't consider beer, was Fuili strawberry beer. It is a Belgium white ale with tons of strawberry taste. Also very good! The food was regular bar fare, with a few more elaborate dishes. Since I was there for my full on "sports fan experience", I decided to drink my beer and eat some wings!! The atmosphere was great for watching hockey, especially with all the Caps fans around. The reason why I like watching hockey with other fans is because of the special environment that comes out of the experience. The Stackhouse was a pretty perfect place for this setting, with great food and beer to top it off. Even better this day was the Capitals won in double overtime :) So overall, I would (and have!) come back to this bar. However, a HUGE caveat is to beware the television screens. If you are hard of seeing or prefer bigger sets, then this is not the bar you are seeking. I was lucky enough to get right in front of one, so my experience was bearable. P.S. I forgot to mention they have a hockey bubble top game, but I never got to try it out :-(

I hesitate to write great review of this place because I'm afraid people will see it and flock to this neighborhood gem just steps away from my house. Hudson Street is great for football or hockey but it's great for meeting a friend and just catching up. Lots of great beers on tap, craft brews, and more including my favorite Allagash White, on occasion. Specials almost every night of the week on top of the already very reasonable prices. The food here isn't fabulous, but I've asked to make little tweaks to the items on the menu several times and they've always been amenable. Simple but good bar food. I like the Mussels Hoegaarden, the pretzels and the shrimp salad - go figure! It's always fresh and a little tangy. Yum. Great bartenders, very comfortable, cozy bar section with a tin ceiling that warms the whole space. Best of all, it's easy to overlook, kind of hidden on a side street which helps to keep the riffraff out and by riffraff I mean people who are left at Portside at 1:45 a.m. on Friday night and those who can't find their way out of Canton Square.

As for the other reviews: Yes, the music is sometimes too loud. Yes, parking can be hard at times but it's Canton, what did you expect (I live in Canton, I'm used to it). Yes, the TV screens aren't as big as some other places, but does Canton really need yet another sports bar? This is my favorite bar in town. Part of that is that it is so close to my house, but even if it wasn't it would be my favorite. It is a nice, relaxed neighborhood place with an amazing selection of beers on tap. They rotate them so you never get bored and their choices are, in general, excellent. Not just the Belgians mentioned in other reviews, or your normal East Coast microbrews (both good) but unusual microbrews from New Zealand or Iceland or Italy or who knows where else. It's always something new. It is a bit of a hockey bar and there are sports on TV, but most of the time it doesn't feel like a sports bar. There are people watching sports but there are just as many people from the neighborhood just having a beer or maybe a bit of food.

On a recent trip to Baltimore for Baltimore Beer Week our homebrew club decided to stop here. They had Mad Elf on special so the 9 of us decided to stop for a couple pints. I had a Pumking which was served in a goblet. The place seemed ok until one in our party ordered an Octoberfest and only minutes later someone came to our table to mention a free Harpoon glass promotion for the very same beer she was having. She asked if her beer counted and was told no since it was ordered before the start of the promotion. Not only that but her Harpoon Octoberfest was $1.50 more than the three of us who ordered later? Another issue was the bill did not have an added gratuity, but when someone ordered a California wine they were charged for a pricier imported wine and it seemed to be a bother to the waiter who was getting dones with his shift. I don't understand why there was no explanation for these things, just 'that's the way it is' kind of responses. They did not seem to care because we were a large group coming in around happy hour which seems kind of poor to me.

Myself and some friends stopped in for beers after dinner. Good crowd which was older than the crowds on the Canton Square. Great service at the bar and an extensive list of draft beers. We only stayed for an hour but I enjoyed it and will go back.

Have hit up Hudson St a few times now and bar staff has always been great, and super helpful when working through an outstanding draft list. Every time we have gone the drafts have been top notch and a great rotation of drafts. The food has been good, nice size menu with solid choices. Nice setting too, big front windows that open up on nice days which is awesome. Good setup of TV's as well.

Hudson Street is a great bar away from Canton square. The beer selection is excellent. I prefer summer beers, so I'm sure I'll be spending more time here in the coming weeks. The food is also much better than your average bar food. I really like the soft pretzels, which are served with this spicy mustard. It can get a little loud in here on weekends and on game days, so I prefer to come during the week when it's pretty calm. If you want a good deal, come on a Tuesday. Drafts are 2 dollars off and the burgers are 5 dollars. I was really surprised... In a good way! The burger was cooked perfectly and all the ingredients were really fresh! Unfortunately, the only included ingredients are lettuce and tomatoes, so you'll have to pay extra for additional toppings, but they're worth it!
