Hopkins deli is so convenient and the staff is sopfriendly, you really become apart of this place when you live close by for so long. Every morning on my way to wprk i stop here and get my morning coffee. The coffee is always brewed and creamers and sugars are ready for use and full. Next to the coffee dispensers they have jimmy dean sausage sandwhiches ready and waiting for that on the go costumer such as my self, who never gets up early enough to make coffee or let alone breakfast. The liquer side of the store sells packaged goods mon-sun and has such a great variety of beers, wines and liquers. No matter what the occasion they have something to fit your taste and if they dont, they will bring it in for their regular costumers if need be. i have even ordered the delivery. The food at hopkins is great. Although their pizza's could use a bit of work, their menu offers food for every pallet. i have enjoyed they steak subs, pizza, fish and chips, hot sandwhiches and even their wings. I have never been disappointed except for the rueben sandwhich. I do think that should be removed lol. the store is also a little mini mart that offers fresh produce, pet food, canned goods and more. I dont know how many times i ran out of maple syrup or dog food and had to run down to the store before they closed at 11:30. Hopkins has been a real staple in the community around here, has been around for many years and we all love having them here and supporting our local business's

I'm done with Hopkins Deli's food. I adore the owner and his main employees. Their food is horrible. I ordered a cheesesteak which arrived with no cheese, not to mention the extra hot peppers I requested. This sort of thing is continual. I call them after ordering. via Eat24, to give them special instructions like No Lettuce. It comes with lettuce. They said they'd re deliver it correctly. Lettuce again. Everything is over cooked. No one in that kitchen cares. How hard is it to pay attention to your restaurant?!!!! The deli is part of a bodega. Maybe it's not their main moneymaker. There is so much potential if only they'd pay attention to their quality. I'm not a college student (a big share of their market) but even college kids would rather eat elsewhere. Convenience is the only thing they have going for them. Bye bye Hopkins Deli.

Best cheese steak I've had in years! The Old School Philly is definitely delicious. I do recommend this for real. I am definitely going to come back to this spot.

Great place, not just a regular liquor store. The owner is a great guy and will know you by name in no time. They have great food for a good price and always have good games on. The pizza is great and is ready in no time.

The food here is actually quite good! I only do takeout so I can't comment on delivery. I like most of their sandwiches, and paninis (ingredients are fresh and they always toast the bread), while their pizza is also nice. Good crust and they don't skimp on the cheese- its also convenient that you can buy individual slices. I also particularly like the fish sub (lightly battered fillet). Grocery items are somewhat overpriced, including beer, wine etc...but that's likely due to the location and convenience for residents in the johns hopkins area. They also carry more premium/imported deli items and cheeses. The staff is extremely nice and courteous, and are happy to accommodate changes or substitutions to an order. Thus far I haven't had a complaint regarding the food and definitely recommend trying this place out.

THE WORSE. THE WORSE. THE WORSE with picture proof, hopkins deli is disappointing for even delivery food and made us wait MORE than an hour and a half for chicken alfredo and chicken salad. We called twice and they were more than unapologetic about it. The man told me to wait a second, then acted like he was answering the phone. Then after the third time of "hopkins deli, can i help you?", he told me my driver would be there in ten minutes. At that point, it was an hour, when an hour-thirty passed by, I called again with the exact same experience with the same answer. Finally we got our food, after two hours of waiting, and it was terrible. The delivery driver was unapologetic and rude, like I was impeding on his time. I put on a jacket and went downstairs for the food. He greeted me with, "it took awhile". (OK) My salad did not have chicken on it---when it was a chicken salad. My pasta was not cooked and tasted like they heated up left-overs. In essence, don't order here if you want actual service.

I like the food here a lot. The service is always pretty prompt. I've ordered three or four pizzas on several occasions and delivery took about 45 minutes. I love the buffalo chicken and cheese steak pizzas and the loaded fries are very good too.

Our new favorite go-to place for delivery! (They deliver to Hampden...yay.) Skip the fries and order their delicious sweet potato fries. They are just like the sweet potato crinkles you can get at the Food Market in Hampden, except obviously much cheaper. Everything we've ordered (sandwiches, subs, burgers) has been really good, and we've yet to try their pizza. Delivery is prompt and the price is right.

I've ordered from here a lot and the service is always good. Their sandwiches and sweet potato fries are great for a fast food/delivery place. Their pizza is terrible though, skip the pizza seriously.

I lived in the building next door, and...what can I say. I miss this place. The staff members were always very friendly, and a friendly staff that keeps you happy is worth coming back for, even if the food isn't that amazing. But the food is good. Their paninis were always tasty, the pizzas were yummy, and the strombolis always tasted fresh. I lived for their buffalo chicken tenders- the spice was punishing, if not the best quality, and the bleu cheese was lumpy like I want it. The veggie panini was my second favorite. Some of their fried appetizers weren't that great. Skip the fries. Food: 3 stars Service: 5 stars Location: 5 stars Thank you for being there during my rough college-ing twenties.

JEWEL OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD Not the greatest pizza, but a really nice grocery and liquor store. Staff is really great. Look for their newly expanded grocery section.

The manager refused to take a gift certificate from restaurant.com stating it was a scam. The customer service was subpar and food was average. After speaking to the manager, we will have to reevaluate on coming back to this establishment.

I've ordered a lot throughout the year and use their delivery service. It's been great in any type of weather. The subs are really good and I love the crab dip. I'm glad that they are in the neighborhood.

It's close and delivery was fast. We ordered soup, salad and panini. The soup smelled horrible and went straight to the trash. Salad was a large bowl of lettuce with 2 pieces of tomatoes, cucumbers and broccoli. Chicken Panini was very dry and not tasty. This was the first and last order.

I come to Hop Deli 2-3 times a month to get little presents for my friend who lives upstairs, and I love this place. I've never had the deli food here, so I can't rate that. But, I absolutely LOVE the staff here, they are so friendly every single time, helpful, and polite. They have a big selection of wines and are very knowledgeable about them, as well as lots of ice cream, beer, nice cookies, ect. They have the basics (tortillas and salsa) as well as upscale cookies and treats. It's not a great place to do your grocery shopping, given the somewhat limited selection and high prices, but it's a good place for treats, to meet up with someone, ect.

Was craving pizza so I picked up some wings and pizza the other day. Ordered a 14" jalapeno pepper - pineapple pizza (it sounds weird but it's really good if you like spicy) as well as the 24K wings. Pizza was much better than I remember it being. The crust was firm yet had a nice crunch and crisp about it (even after about a 5-10 minute drive back home). The crust also had a decently noticeable bread taste, which I liked. Unlike last time, pizza wasn't that greasy. From what I remember, the big chain pizzas (Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominoes) all have more grease. I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza and will agree with Jae that it's one of B'more's most underrated pizzas (at least when its made well). The wings were okay. Like I said in my previous review, the 24K wings were my favorite. The 24K sauce is this mix of different flavors. It starts off sweet, then turns sour, and ends with a spicy kick. Unfortunately, some of the wings were overcooked, making it tough and chewy. The celery was wrapped in foil separately from the box of wings. For the most part, it was crisp and a good contrast to the wings. However, one of the celery sticks was brown. I threw that one out (which is what the workers should have done in the first place). While it appears that Hopkins Deli no longer delivers alcohol, they still do carry a good selection of beers, wines, and liquors. I picked up a Guinness Black Lager there (hadn't seen that before). Not bad. Again, the price of alcohol here is a little more expensive than most liquor stores' prices... but it is very convenient. And if you live in the area, this is probably the closest liquor store with a decent selection of craft beers (The Wine Source is another good option, but definitely a further walk). I ordered through the campusfood.com website with no problems. However, there are coupons that come with the box (and occasionally randomly scattered throughout the store) so if you use those while ordering in person or over the phone, it would be a little cheaper.

Last week Hopkins Deli revamped their entire menu! The prices have gone up some, but they're now offering better quality food. I had the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap a couple days ago, and I was very pleasantly surprised! I will have to update again once I have an opportunity sample more of the new menu.

The pizza is fine. The service is terrible. I believe it's all a family. One son acts really unintelligent. One is fine, but constantly distracted by the tv. The bald guy is really rude. The only good one is the fellow with the glasses who runs the liquor part. Why do restaurants take customers for granted? We have gone plenty of times because of the convenience, but the service is just atrocious.

I have been coming here for 6-7 years. Really like the owners. They're really nice guys as are the workers who work the kitchen (it's always a treat talking to them in Spanish about soccer). I'll keep it short and simple and just state that the best thing to get here is the pizza. Their pizza is probably one of the most underrated pizzas in Baltimore. Get the Italiano Supreme. It's amazing. Oh, yeah, it is gonna be a bit greasy, but hey thats what napkins are for. (I hear that by blotting a slice of pizza, you remove ~100 calories alone!)

The two stars are for the delicious wings that I got from here. However, one star was deducted when I tried to place the order for those wings over the phone. It was very difficult to understand the man on the phone and the ordering process was very disorganized. He kept asking me to repeat what I ordered. He also couldn't tell me what sizes they had for their sodas. It was just confusing. Another star was deducted when the order took over an hour to get delivered. I only live 7 minutes away and they told me it would take 40 minutes. So even though I was annoyed with the service, the Korean wings were so good that I wanted to get them again. When I called on a friday night, they said they were no longer delivering because they would be closing in thirty minutes. So I asked if I could place the order and pick it up. They said no. I asked if I could come in to order the food and she said I could if all I wanted was a slice of pizza. What?! She said the kitchen had already started to clean up so I couldn't order anything fresh. They should clearly state the difference between the store closing time and the kitchen closing time. Even though those wings were good, I'm not sure if it's worth putting up with their disappointing service.

Very good pizza for the price. You get a massive pizza for $12 - $15.

ADD SAUCE TO YOUR PIZZA, MORE SAUCE IS ESSENTIAL!! The pizza would be perfect if you just added more SAUCE!!!! I have worked in Pizza -and I'll say that someone here is either not paying attention or just doesn't care. The resulting pizza was not bad -actually tasty -but soo thin on the sauce . Yes I know some pizza doesn't have sauce -that's not what I'm talking about .

While I like the place for their sandwiches and beer, beware that on "nicer" wines and liquors (that are actually just mid-range) they charge *significantly* more than is warranted -- sometimes double. A common Beaujolais that I drink, which can be found at most wine shops for about $10.99, sells here for $19.99! Needless to say I don't buy it at Hopkins Deli.

Menu has changed. The way they make the food has changed, unfortunately, it has become worst. I threw away all the food that I ordered worth $10. (Their previous food menu was much better). Their pizza base is not thoroughly baked, i.e. you can find uncooked dough even in a slice of cheese pizza -- the cheese pizza is the easiest to cook, and they still mess that up, it is soo oily :(. Their entire new menu is way too oily. If you want t become fat and die of a heart attack then this is probably the place to eat. They have recruited some girl just to make it look good, but she doesn't know the heck about being responsible, and so does the new 18 some yr. old kid. I would rather walk up to the east side of the campus and go to Maxies on 30th and Charles, it is much (10 times) better!

Hopkins Deli, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways... We used to live in the building and it was like having room service! All the food is perfect deli food. They use great bread for the sandwiches. They have a great selection of alcohol--they sell my favorite French wine and I once found a bottle of Limoncello there (it can be hard to find). Everyone who works there is SO NICE, from the owners to the people behind the counter. I've never had a bad experience and that's in going there for over two years. I can't imagine why another reviewer wrote "Bad service to!" (I think you mean "Bad service too," by the way. Don't go trashing my deli, Ethanrox.) Now that we've moved I still order from there all the time and YES they deliver alcohol!

Hopkins Deli is a good place to go if you want something quick & tasty to eat. I haven't been too impressed with their sandwiches, and the pasta dishes aren't worth getting, but their pizza is always delicious. If you want something else fried to munch on like onion rings or chicken fingers then you'll also do well here. The staff are also very friendly, and are nothing like the people who used to run this place.

if you live in the building upstairs, this place is just waaaaaaaaaaaay too convenient. i'd seen owners come and go during the past 10 yrs but i got to say this time the owner's got it right. renovation is great, the food is so much better than what it used to, i esp like the beer tab, flat screen tv and wifi connection. it's great they brought back the game room too.
