I was actually too full to eat here but my fiance' got a coney dog &burger. He said that they were very good but, he thought the chili was a tad salty. Needless to say, he scarfed them down and wants to go back. I do like the fact that it's family owned and operated. Dad was cooking and his son was the cashier. Very nice hard working folks

This place is located right in the middle of Eastern Avenue and if you weren't looking for it you may walk right past it. One way you can look for it is to search for a gentleman in the front window, in front of the grill, slinging hotdogs, it will act like a beacon in the night. I have been here numerous times, but realized I have never reviewed it. This place just screams old school diner; from the front counter to the old fashion booths. The owner is probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is so set on making sure you're comfortable and enjoying your meal. He definitely puts a lot of pride into his place. My favorite Spot is just bellying up to the bar so I can watch all the action. Pro Tip: if you want dogs to go, just walk in, walk up to the counter and order. Your coney dogs will be ready in seconds. I haven't had a ton of items off the menu as I like to keep it simple. The dogs are great and affordable, the French fries with gravy are hand cut and delicious. I have also had the sliders, burgers and cheese steaks. All were solid and you can't beat the price. I have also had breakfast items including the scrapple. Delicious. Overall, this place is great for a quick, affordable meal made with care. I love coming here and hopefully you will too.

Had a wonderful treat last night when 9 of my friends and I sampled some of the specialties at this baltimore institution. Coney Island dogs, hamburger sliders, crab cake sliders, beef brisket sliders, French fries and gravy, authentic Greek pastries and fabulous chocolate shakes. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. The owner and waitress couldn't have been nicer. Definitely the place to go when you are in Baltimore. Can't wait to go back. Enjoy!

I tried the two products they featured on the show: the hot dog (with chili etc.) and the Coney Island burger. Both were pretty good. Also, they crank them out VERY quickly, so if you decide you want one more hot dog, your friends won't get mad at you for forcing them to wait. It's also very affordable. If I lived on that side of town I'm sure I would stop in for a quick bite pretty often. But I have to say I was a little underwhelmed after seeing the place featured on the Food Network. Since I live across town, it's not a place I would drive through the city just to eat at. That said, the food is good, cheap, fast, and the staff is very friendly. If you're nearby, definitely give it a shot. And get the gravy fries. They're awesome.

My brother moved down to Maryland this past year and after seeing this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, I thought it would be a good place to go when visiting him. The food is good, but not amazing. It is a very low key place with a friendly staff that felt very similar to a diner. When we arrived, we were told to have a seat wherever we liked and they brought us menus shortly after that. We tried the regular burger, the coney dogs and the sliders. The sliders came with a side of fries and we asked if we could put chili and cheese on the fries and they were happy to oblige. The coney dog was very similar to the ones you would get at Coney Island so they were good. The burger was an average burger that did not stand out too much. The sliders were my favorite. They gave you three small sliders that were full of flavor and were cooked perfectly. I was glad I added chili and cheese to my fries as it was my second favorite thing we ordered. The chili was all meat chili with no beans. It must have been simmered down for hours as the flavor was great and had the right amount of thickness to it and adding cheese to anything makes it better. I really enjoyed my visit to G&A restaurant. The food is not amazing, it does not try to reinvent the wheel, but what they do offer is normal burgers and hot dogs and they do them right. I would go again.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the G&A! Great family operation, friendly, and welcoming. I've tried many dishes over the last few years and they've all been great! All of it - coney, souvlaki, gyro, omelette, burger, crab cake, club, grilled chicken (love the grilled chicken with the grill flavor soaked in), fish sandwich (w/ a very tasty coating), and jumbo fountain drinks - good prices and great service! The owners are the best and I love sitting at the counter. Anyone who is familiar with Highlandtown will appreciate the range of interesting people coming in or walking by. The fun never ends. Can't wait to go back!

Great grub & friendly service! Burgers, brisket, gravy fries & disco fries were all very good. We took some crab cakes to go. Would definitely return when we are in the Baltimore area.

I went here with a friend, who saw them featured on the Food Network, over the weekend. We almost passed it because its storefront doesn't stand out. When we went in, we were greeted right away and promptly seated. I don't remember our waitress' name, but she was so friendly and personable. My friend ordered their Coney Island burger and hot dog, while I ordered their beef brisket sliders with gravy fries. The gravy was probably over-the-top, but I feel like I HAD to do it because it was free AND it's gravy! The beef brisket was moist and was cooked nicely. It was well-seasoned and the sliders were perfectly portioned. It definitely presented on the plate much better than my friend's order. I gotta say that these beef brisket sliders were infinitely better than any of the ones I've eaten at Mission BBQ. Probably better-priced, too! The restaurant was so old school and I had never been to place like that before. It's not fancy, but it was so homey. My friend said that she'd never eaten at a place where everyone was so nice and welcoming. Plus, all the food was priced so reasonably! I will definitely be coming back to this place.

This has been on D's list for quite a while, ever since we saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The service is quite attentive and friendly, which is encouraging to see - it's nice to have a real family-run restaurant, it's quite a nice experience. The food is not quite up to the standard that we've come to expect from something being featured on Food TV. D tried their famous hot dogs and found them a bit bland, and the meat sauce watery. I had pancakes and bacon. The pancakes looked great but were kinda gummy in texture, and of the three bacon slices, one tasted great and the other two were a little chemical-flavored. Our waitress was really friendly and the coffee wasn't bad.

I took my daughter and we had a great experience, in every sense. The waitress was very nice. Service was quick! Food was fantastic!! She got the sliders and fries, I went with Coney Island dogs. The owner even took time to chat with us and answer some questions from a very inquisitive kiddo. We will be back. It's over an hour away, but worth the experience.

I've been here twice since moving to Hielandtoon (Highlandtown), and really want to like the place since I have fond childhood memories of it. Alas, times change, people change, and places change. The service is subpar and appears to be poorly organized. As a patron sitting at the counter last time around, I was far from pleased to see my youngish waitress being unattentive (can I get a coffee refill here?!) and doing her own personal thing in plain sight. And no, she was not on break! The food has been about average, with some things done right and others not so good. Scrapple should NOT be mushy, people, and you should know better! Finally, this place is truly a traditional greasy spoon. With that proud classification - and trust me, I appreciate and love greasy spoons - comes a responsibility to be below average in pricing. Not so here. The food isn't special or particularly high grade, the wait staff is not superior, and there's no need to jack up the prices because your in a premium real estate spot or sunk a boatload of money into upgraded decor! I simply shouldn't be walking out if there paying in the range of $14 including tip for a basic and unspectacular breakfast platter with a side of toast and basic coffee. So, I'm pretty much done with my walk down nostalgia row, and will be pursuing my breakfast options elsewhere.

So after the last Diners/Drive-Ins/Dives debacle, I think I prayed the entire way to Baltimore while we were en route. God is clearly still in the prayer answering business. I was kind of nervous about the place being crowded and parking in the area during the lunch hour but again, Divine Intervention was in full effect. There was only a handful of ppl there, and clearly they were regulars as there was lots of funny conversation among the patrons and staff. The sweet tea was amazing (so good that my honey opted for a tea instead of a refill on his Coke). Our gravy fries came out first and man were they GOOD! Our waitress had explained that the Coney Burger was steamed and that it would be soft (I expected that); I ordered a platter with the burger and the dog. My honey ordered a Gringo (Burger with ham and nacho cheese and he added bacon). His burger was cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were perfect, we stayed full but didn't feel like we were going to explode. Andy came over to greet us and talk to us for a little bit, which was a great touch. if I had anything less than glowing to say it's that I''m mad I didn't know about this place when I LIVED in Baltimore. Definitely worth the drive tho and we WILL be back. We did not have dessert. I don't know where they source their baked goods but things looked homemade/delicious or at the very least local. :)

Well we keep coming back here!! Why? It's partly the folks that run the joint, partly the prices and the ease of getting in and out of here. I found some yummy mozzarella sticks on their menu and my husband has had their burgers and we've enjoyed.. We'll be back again!

Good food. Liked the coney but you should really have the gyro! That is worth the trip. Also had hamburger sliders chili fries and rice pudding can't be missed. Andy is a great guy and gracious host, I wish his son a fast recovery from his serious illness. Act like guy fiery and get to g&a asap!

Definitely a dive. I ordered 2 of their Coney Island dogs. They were pretty good. For $2.20 each and exactly as expected. The staff was friendly. The food came immediately (literally, within 15 seconds of order). I was in Baltimore with time to spare and thought I would give it a try since in was on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Would I come back? Sure... If I am ever in the area and in the mood for a dog or divey diner food, but won't go out of my way to come back.

I really like coming to this little dive diner. I like being greeted by the owner...I think his name is Andy?. I like the waitresses because they are interesting...some are friendly and some are not. This place has a lot of history behind it and you can tell that it has fed the locals for many a years. The prices are low and the house special is the hot dogs. I like the hot dogs and they taste good and I like the novelty of the notoriety of the hot dogs. However, they are not so incredible that it is a MUST-SEE and TASTE for an out-of-towner friend...more like a "oh we're passing by and you should try this" kind of place. The rest of the fare didn't look impressive enough for me to try out their menu, so I stuck to the burgers and dogs. However, by that I mean, the other menu items weren't signature...but more than likely up to par. I wish their hours were longer which probably keeps me from visiting more often. So if you are passing by....

Great food and service. I have had many different things on the menu and everything has been amazing. Breakfast is super and the menu is diverse. This is not a place to miss out on in Baltimore.

Follow That Guy #7 Of all the DDD restaurants that we visited today, I enjoyed G&A Restaurant the most. Not because the food was vastly superior (it's rather ordinary) but because G&A felt like a time capsule. I'd say that the restaurant is "retro" but the reality is that it probably hasn't changed. It's not one of those shiny, metal and neon soda-hop diners of the 1960s. It's more of the working class "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" diner of the 1930s. What's makes something a "Coney Island ("CI")?" Onions and chili. The pricing is what you expect from a diner. $2.00 for a Coney Island hot dog and $2.50 for a CI Burger. The burgers are quite unique in the sense that its steamed (think White Castle) instead of being purely grilled. I'd say that the CI cuisine is an acquired taste, but we just kept eating and ordering more. At first, I only had the stomach for a CI Burger. But then we ordered a CI hot dog. Then we ordered the pecan, apple, something-granola pie. What makes G&A a worthwhile destination is the waitstaff. Friendly is an understatement because "mothering" is more accurate. There's something welcoming and warm about this place that we simply couldn't stop wanting more. The conversations reflected genuine interest as opposed to routine banter. Bottomline: If you've got time during your busy schedule, why not drive the extra mile to check this place out? [Original Visit: November 27, 2010]

I travel up and down I-95, this place came up in a search for hot dogs. Since it wasn't far off the highway I made a detour. Ordered 2 dogs all the way. The dogs we good but just ok. The chili sauce was on the mild side. Overall just average.

Was interested in trying this place for a while now, after seeing the diners drive ins and dives episode in which it was featured. The waitress was really nice. Sweet, typical "Baltimore hon." I got a Coney Island dog, and my boyfriend got a Baltimore burger. We split gravy fries too. First off, the fries were cooked to perfection. Could have used some salt though. The gravy was TO DIE FOR. It was so packed with flavor, and the perfect consistency too. My hot dog was nice and juicy, with that snap/crunch that makes it so much better. The chili on top was not overpowering, it accented the dog perfectly. A little too heavy on the onions for my taste, though. But overall very tasty. I had a bite of my boyfriend's burger too. Very juicy and flavorful. No ketchup or mustard necessary. And the owner was really nice. He seemed as though he really cared about his customers and was genuinely appreciative that people were there. He also struck up a conversation with us and asked if we were from the area. When we told him we live in Harford county, but were in the city visiting my boyfriend's dad after a heart transplant, he began to tell us about his son who has sickle cell disease. We told him we would keep his son and family in our thoughts, and he said the same for my boyfriend's dad. Very nice man, and I wish his son the best of luck. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

I was really looking forward to these chilidogs. I'm a chilidog affi---afic--I really like chilidogs. Since I would be in the city I thought I needed to stop by. I even read the reviews on Yelp which made me want them even more. I got to the restaurant and there was a man sitting at the register. I really wasn't greeted so I told him I wanted something for take out. The friendly waitress didn't seem friendly to me. They never made eye contact even though I was standing were they had to walk and I'm hard to miss at 6-2 330 pounds. I asked for 2 dogs with everything since I'm not familar with the lingo. I don't know if they were running out of chili but there was barely any on the dogs and the onions overpowered everything. I was extremely disappointed. No one smiled or tried to make small talk. I felt a strange vibe. I don't know if it was because no one "looked like me" in the restaurant or not. I even asked for directions, the old guy and the red head waitress both looked at me like I was crazy and a customer give me the information I needed. If your looking for Chilidogs not worth the trip.

My husband and I had such a good experience here. We almost walked right past it, you blink and youll miss this joint! But let me tell you Randi was our server and she was great and the owner came over and introduced himself as well, super friendly and invited. Just made you feel as if you've been coming here for years. I had a hot dog and cheese fries. Just yummy dinner food.

We were around the corner and I had seen this restaurant on the Food Network. We thought it was ridiculous, living right outside of Baltimore and never have been here. We had the gravy fries, which were to die for, and coney dogs. We fed two people, with drinks, for $10, which is a STEAL. The place is old, the clientele has been coming here for years, so it's not a 5-star place. But if you're looking for something that's traditional Baltimore and for good hot dogs, come here. I didn't get to try the other foods, mostly because I wanted to get the coney dog. The other food may be fine, but it's not what they're known for. The wait staff was some of the best I've ever seen. Very welcoming and honest about the menu (take a moment to ask! We almost got the chili fries, which were more expensive, but the waitress suggested we get the gravy fries instead. Glad we did!). They made sure we were happy and we were pleased to give them a ridiculous tip. Definitely a go back. Might be going back sooner than later!

This place is great. It is a family run business. I love that fact they keep the original spirit of the neighborhood alive. It has the old diner feel with the open griddle where and sit down counter. You can get out of here for under $6 (including tip). I always try something new, but am nostalgic for the chili dogs and gravy fries. If you're looking for a quick, cheap, delicious meal this is the place.

Decided to do a DDD tour today with a friend of mine and had high expectations unfortunately it did not live up to Guy's hype. I had the sliders with fries, and my friend had the coney dogs with chili and cheese fries. The burgers were dry and the dogs were nothing special while the chili was bland. I was born in Brooklyn NY and went to Coney Island almost every other week these dogs were nothing special and I was utterly disappointed. The place reminded me of the dinners you could find under neath the elevated train off kings hwy. The place was busy and price must have been a factor there because the food wasnt.

I have lived 2 blocks from here for years and went for the first time a little while back. Best service in town; everyone goes out of their way to make you feel like a regular on your first visit. Coney Dog was great; Coney Burger was good, but I recommend sticking with 2 dogs. Normally, I am not a gravy on my fries guy, but they recommended it and I couldn't have been happier. Perfect consistency and homemade, not the thick straight from a can stuff at other places. Fries were fantastic, too. Everything seems like a good value. Can't wait to go back to try everything else. Liked: Food, Service, Atmosphere, Value

The truth is, Guy Fieri and Adam Richman are very spotty with their recommendations. I've had wildly different expereinces at the establishements they've visited. This was much better than I anticipated. On TV, this looked like a super greasy spoon restaurant. However, the sliders with chili were very good. Portions are huge and prices are low.

Stopped here with the family in August 2011. Yes I saw it on DDD, and I'm a sucker for dives. I tried one of everything (well, not really). I had dogs, burgers, fries, chicken sliders, etc. The food was surprisingly slow, but we were there at a weird time (230PM after lunch rush). The waitress was nice but like I said the food tok forever to come out. Perhaps because we ordered so many different things. It's in a rough neighborhood and there were some people causing problems in the back of the restaurant. One patron started a shouting match with the waitress. The owner, who I recognized from DDD was there at the cash register; though he was not cooking. He was extremely nice and took the time to talk to my family on the way out and wish us a good trip. Food was very inexpensive, yet still showed quality. I would eat here a lot if I lived nearby. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the neighborhood.

If you drive too fast, you'll definitely miss this diamond in the rough. After going to 20+ of these Triple Ds, I've learned to ask the waitress/waiter 2 questions: 1) What was featured on the show? and 2) What is really good that wasn't featured? I am SOOOO glad I asked the latter. I tried the hot dog with coney sauce and it was average at best. Kinda disappointing since it was the featured item on the episode. What really stood out at this restaurant was the Crab Cake Sandwich and their Paninis. The Crab Cake Sandwich was THE BEST Crab Cake Sandwich I ever ate! Their panini sandwich was surprisingly good. It looked kinda plain, but after one bite, HOLY MOLY! I was hearing the choir sing! The owner and staff are incredibly nice and the place is decent in size with fast service. This is #20 on my quest to eat at all the Diners, Drive-ins & dives in America (or at least in So Cal).

G & A is a special place! The food is solid on the verge of awesome! The Brown Gravy on the fries works along with the sliders. But what makes this place special is Andy and his Tall red headed waitress (so sorry I can't recall her name), I go alot of places and once you hit it on the "Food Network" you got it made...most places get a little arrogant (I hear its hard not to after being around Guy Fieri). Dining with five of us after a large order Andy found out we were from California and he just started to bring the samples.. the guy is humble, generous and a damn good cook who know how to treat his customers!! Hat's off!!!

Exactly what I was hoping for. Coney's done up just like home. Order up 2 with mustard and onion and you'll be happy. And the place is clean. Owner gave a impromptu tour of the kitchen. That's pride right there. This could easily be a go to place. Last time you saw a counter like this was in the Smithsonian. Not a retro diner from the 60's. Try more like a time capsule from the 30's. Food is good. Food is cheap. These folks take care of you.

We recently went here because of the Tripe D episode. We had the coney dogs and the sliders. They were just ok. We just had hot dogs at Bens Chili Bowl which were MUCH better although much more expensive. So I guess for the price they were fine.

I've lived in baltimore all my life on the other side , and my friend said let's go to G and A for hotdogs, I haven't been there since I was a kid. So we go. We were greeted warmly as we walked in by the owners and seated. We asked what was good...so we were told the soups were made in house and were good... I got the black bean soup, which was amazing! I am used to veg black bean soup, but this one was full of meat, great taste, some sour cream and cheese on top. A total hit. The dogs were ok. didn't get the fries but saw someone else's and they do look like all that!!! For dessert the female owner said the rice pudding was homemade so we shared that and a piece of chocolate cake, which was good but the pudding was great. This is the real McCoy, real Baltimore, with good people who treat you like family, and it is reasonable so you can come often. I know we will!! Look for the new orange awning!

1. I did NOT see this on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Wow, I missed this DDD) 2. I did not come for G&A Restaurant's specialty (Baltimore's Best Coney Island hot dog) In September, my wife and I found a new place that serves a late breakfast (noon or later) on the cheap. G&A makes omelettes like a place that we used to go to by the Canton waterfront. Sadly, this place has closed down. But on the bright side, we have met a "new friend". Wife had the Western omelette consisting of ham, onions, green peppers and cheese.I had an omelette of bacon and cheese. The breakfast came with home fries with onions and toast. This is our new place for a good late breakfast! The waitress was very friendly and even asked us if we were here because we saw DDD. She was actually surprised we were looking for a place that serves omelettes that we could eat at lunch time. For two people, breakfast with sodas and refills cost about 15 or 16 bucks! The food, the price and the waitstaff were excellent !!!

Warning. This is in the hood. Now that you have been warned, let me tell you not to worry about it at ALL. Super nice people, the chili dog is an acquired flavor I'm sure. Not bad, just not what I wanted. Service outstanding. Everything else really good. If you take a chance you will not be disappointed, this is the real deal. American diner all the way.

Great little hole-in-the-wall diner where you will find blue collar Baltimore at its unvarnished best. The neighborhood is a little scary after dark, but the Coney Dogs and fries are worth it. Andy is The Man. I can't wait to go back.

I am so full. I had 2 G & A dogs, 1 polish dog, and a plate of fries with the homemade gravy. The food tastes great and the customer service is fantastic. Andy really makes everyone feel at home. I'm so thankful that Guy Fieri showed the world how great this restaurant is. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in the Baltimore area.

I really liked this place. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food is quite good and very cheap. Cool stainless steel interior is very authentic small city diner, just like the menu. You can see lots of streetlife from the large front windows.

We saw the place on DDD, and we were passing through, so we thought that we would stop. We found it dirty with sticky floors. The food was mediocre at best. If you live anywhere close to NY, you can get better chili from any hot dog cart. Seriously.

I wish that I could write a better review. This place is a classic diner with customer service from a different era-they were so friendly. I came here specifically for the famous coney island dogs though. The hot dog was good, but not worth the special drive to go here. The chili was a nice texture, but again, well, just an above average chili. I like a snap when I bite in to a dog and this one was "snapless." The fries were good but not worth a special trip. I would come back if I was in the immediate area, and it is probably worth your time and money to enjoy the diner dive experience.

I have lived in Baltimore for more than 8 years (1 mile from G&A) and today was my first time at G&A. I had a hotdog with the chili and the hamburg. Both were REALLY good. We will definitely be making G&A a regular restaurant we visit.

Drove an hour to eat at this place after seeing it on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives via the food network. First off real busy like you would expect, but the service was hampered. Our order was messed up a couple of times. Above all that, the Coney Island dogs are awesome, the burgers not so much. All in all worth the trip.

The best! Moved outta town for about two years missing Andy's (the smiling owner who will surely greet you when you arrive) smile. I love this place...I swear by it, from Brandy's great service to the best food, it definately will please. The Greek salad with chicken is by far the best thing here (well, there is the Coney island hot dog with gravy fries). Thank you so much guys for the wonderful hospitality...

On a family adventure trip to Baltimore from our vacation in DC, we decided to go to this D,D,&D restaurant. This was our first one, and we were not disappointed. We had the Sliders, G&A Coney Dog, softshell crab sandwich (which is new on the menu) and the fries with gravy, and to top off... rice pudding. When I got the softshell crab sandwich and bit into it the burst of flavor exploded in my mouth. As I was going "Wow!", Andy (the owner) came by and asked if the sandwich was Ok. I replied that it was, he asked us where we were from and asked if we had ever tried the crabcake sandwich. After visiting with us about the flavors of the local crab, he insisted on giving us a sample of the crabcake sandwich. Within a few minutes it was on our table and just like the softshell it was AMAZING. My wife and step-son said they were both wonderful and were fighting me for it! My wife ordered the Coney dog and the chili on it was awesome! The gravy on the fries was to die for! We wanted to stop eating (our diets went down the drain) but it was so good we hated to leave anything behind!! Prices ranged from $2.50-$7.00. If you get a chance run down there and check out this old style diner and you will be glad that you did.

Dogs, secret chili sauce, fries with gravy, sliders, CHEAP!! The local residents are a little on the scary side, but what the heck, the owner is so friendly, he more than makes up for it. Great FOOD! Can we sneak it into Johns Hopkins ICU?

This place is disgusting. It's run down and needs to be redone, there's no old charm here. You'll be looking around waiting for roaches to crawl on the table. Half of the staff either looks high or used to be junkies, and are rude. They go from touching raw food to touching money, then back to the food, no washing hands or gloves in this place. And enjoy watching your hotdog be rolled on a hairy sweaty arm before it's cooked for you. I have no clue how this place is still open, or how it gets praised by so many people.

Great hotdogs, their clubs and burgers were just as good if not even better. Definitely get a lot of food for a great price. The fries with gravy were amazing and the staff was very fast and friendly. The ravenator was my favorite. My friend ordered a G&A club, I tried it and it was excellent.

If I'm in the mood for delicious comfort food there's really only one place on my mind, G & A. As I mentioned in an earlier review my husband has worked on the owner and his family's cars for quite awhile now and has been enjoying their food just as long so I guess you could say I'm making up for lost time. Last night we brought my mom along since I had been going on and on for months about how delicious the hot roast beef and gravy is and that is one of her favorites since back in the White Coffee Pot days. Surprisingly she chose to get the hamburger steak with fried onions and gravy and really enjoyed it, and trust me, she is very particular about her food, especially anything pertaining to gravy. I, of course, went with the hot roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy and the green beans. One of the things I really commend Andy on is how he takes the time to serve fresh vegetables, not frozen, and it is very obvious that just as much care goes into the sides as goes into the main course. They have a new cook so the green beans tasted a little different but still very good. You really would be hard pressed to find another local restaurant in the Baltimore area where you can have a delicious, affordable meal with local color and the owner whose personality is as big as his heart is waiting at the door to greet you as well as thank you for coming when you leave. After 1 visit you will feel like family, the staff will make certain of it, and it you really want to make sure to have a memorable meal, ask for Brandy, she always makes me laugh and really adds to the experience.

We always go for the Coney Island hot dogs and fries and gravy. What a deal! They remind us of the ones from when we lived in Pennsylvania. The worst part of this place is the parking. Andy is great and the waittresses are really friendly. You wouldn't believe the menu. Everything is fresh made. Next time we are trying the fish and chips. He says he uses fresh cod and his own beer batter. Have been going for years after seeing it on DDD. Never knew before this jewel was in town.

Great atmosphere very friendly staff cheese burger great good burger to bun ratio. Buddy got a g&b club says it was good too. Fries were hot and fresh. Inexpensive good eats and find

(5)Gabriela C.
Went with the Family and really enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. The Coney Island was amazing and the gravy with French fries were to die for. Definitely will be coming back.
(5)Liz B.
Great grub & friendly service! Burgers, brisket, gravy fries & disco fries were all very good. We took some crab cakes to go. Would definitely return when we are in the Baltimore area.
(5)N S.
Thanks for sending us off with the cheese fries with gravy yesterday! They were so delicious! (I wanted to come back for more)

(3)Bill B.
(5)Pat M.

Andy was the best host and the food was incredible...I will make that drive again soon!!! The Hand cut gravy fries and hot dogs are great....he gave us a sample of the brisket omg best I have ever had!!
(5)Anthony A.
Took the girls there last Friday had a great time girls were skeptical about the city but the food made them forget that , they enjoyed it all , including there bottled root beers , hot dogs and blt, and my burgers and dog as well ,and don't forget the fries and gravy worth the trip to eat and enjoy the sites , stop and say hi to Andy when your there , great guy ,been going there since I was a child and that means 45 years ago

(5)Amy G.
Well we keep coming back here!! Why? It's partly the folks that run the joint, partly the prices and the ease of getting in and out of here. I found some yummy mozzarella sticks on their menu and my husband has had their burgers and we've enjoyed.. We'll be back again!
(4)John G.
Good food. Liked the coney but you should really have the gyro! That is worth the trip. Also had hamburger sliders chili fries and rice pudding can't be missed. Andy is a great guy and gracious host, I wish his son a fast recovery from his serious illness. Act like guy fiery and get to g&a asap!
(4)Christopher G.
(3)C B.
(3)Julie C.

(3)Joe C.

(1)Miss T.
(5)Kate L.
(4)Yuansheng T.
I like the French fries with gravy and some waitress.
(4)Matthew L.
(4)Christopher L.
(2)Nick C.
(4)Dave A.
(3)Firstname L.
(4)Don L.
(5)Mark W.
(5)Jamie S.
(4)Christine C.
We recently went here because of the Tripe D episode. We had the coney dogs and the sliders. They were just ok. We just had hot dogs at Bens Chili Bowl which were MUCH better although much more expensive. So I guess for the price they were fine.
(2)Lisa Y.
(4)Mike R.
(4)Lisa D.
(4)Paul M.
Great little hole-in-the-wall diner where you will find blue collar Baltimore at its unvarnished best. The neighborhood is a little scary after dark, but the Coney Dogs and fries are worth it. Andy is The Man. I can't wait to go back.
(4)Robert S.
(5)Lee W.
I really liked this place. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food is quite good and very cheap. Cool stainless steel interior is very authentic small city diner, just like the menu. You can see lots of streetlife from the large front windows.
(4)brian w.
We saw the place on DDD, and we were passing through, so we thought that we would stop. We found it dirty with sticky floors. The food was mediocre at best. If you live anywhere close to NY, you can get better chili from any hot dog cart. Seriously.
(1)Mark B.
(3)Chris G.
I have lived in Baltimore for more than 8 years (1 mile from G&A) and today was my first time at G&A. I had a hotdog with the chili and the hamburg. Both were REALLY good. We will definitely be making G&A a regular restaurant we visit.
(5)Nolan P.
(3)Anthony S.
(5)Scott N.
