I've always heard about how great their pizza was so I decided to check it out. Nothing amazing. Just normal pizza that didn't make me think about coming back for more. The bottom of the pizza was a bit floppy and soggy, could have been cooked a little more. The crust was great though and the toppings were fresh. A large pizza is basically a small pizza. Enough for two...maybe three if you are not that hungry. Over priced. Okay service but nothing that friendly. I probably won't be back unless someone else is set on coming.

Best pizza in MARYLAND. This isn't NY style pizza or thin crust or like anything else around here. It is like Chicago style with a thick crust but the crust is so light and airy. Not heavy at all. The sauce and cheese is delish. We LOVE DeSanti's. We have also been to it's sister restaurant Matthew's (the original I believe) and the pizza's are the same. The atmosphere isn't great. It is just a regular, casual restaurant but the pizza's are so good. Be warned that it takes a little while to get the pizza but it takes time to make perfection. ;) You can also get to-go and frozen pizza's that you can heat up yourself. When you get them frozen though, they never taste as good as eating there.

Desantis is our go-to pizza and wing spot. Tuesday night wing special (with a pitcher of beer). Wednesday night Matthews pizza special. Great neighborhood atmosphere. Good place to catch an O's or Ravens game too.

Love this place. This is our go to place when we can't decide where to eat. Great specialty pizzas. Fun atmosphere. There's always a wait. That many people can't be wrong.

This place is a local treasure. I have seen some reviews that criticize this place and I know they are full of baloney. The pizza here is to die for and I know my pizza. The best not only in Baltimore but in this part of the Mid Atlantic. The coconut crusted shrimp salad is also wonderful and one of the best I have ever had. The cost? $11.95 for a large pizza with "everything" and $12 for a Coconut crusted shrimp salad that was out of this world. If this isn't the best value for great food, not only in Perry Hall but in Baltimore I don't know what is. Wonderful wait staff and nice atmosphere. A go to place no matter where in Baltimore you live and I have tried most of the really good places that offer real value and this is at the top. AND Parking is free and plentiful.

Best neighborhood bar and restaurant in the area! Food is excellent, bar and wait staff are friendly and there are always food and drink specials. I always start out saying I want something different and end up at DiSantis!

Wonder why this isn't rated higher? Great pizza, cheap beer... It isn't the fanciest looking place in the world but the food is delicious. I recommend the Popeye and Olive, or the BBQ chicken pizza- or better yet, order a few you can share as a table, then you can sample more!

I've been here twice while visiting my sister. The first time we got a large Both Cheeses pizza and a pepperoni garlic bacon pizza. Both were really good. The sauce is great, the cheeses were good and the crust was fantastic. Went again recently. Got the chicken parm sandwich, which was amazing. Lots of chicken on the sub. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The bread was a thick sub bun. It was thick enough to not let the sauce bleed through. Fantastic! I also had a few slices of the pepperoni garlic pizza and the both cheeses pizza. Anytime I come to the Baltimore area I hope to stop here!

Food is good if you can get in .. It's always crowded. Gambling at the barbican the most important thing.. If you do get to the bar and no one knows you you'll wait.. Good old boy network... 50 minute wait for a table because Karaoke people hawk all the tables...

This place used to be my favorite place, now I won't go back. Menu changed and not for the good. Sauce for the seafood pasta did not taste anything like it used to and very little crab meat. No more fontina pork chops on the menu and they totally eliminated some chicken dishes. And did I mention my chicken from the chicken Chesapeake was undercooked. Very sad!

Everyone raves about the crab pizza, and don't get me wrong, it was pretty good, but the BBQ chicken pizza was far superior. Also got the seared ahi app...not bad at all. Great atmosphere and very close to home. Will definitely be back for more!

Went back here for their pizza. Well, it was amazing and just as good as i hoped it would be. I think they only have one size which is fine. I think one pizza is big enough for two and they're all about $10-$12 depending what you get on it. I got the crab pizza and it came about pretty quick. The crust was definitely one of my favorite parts. I'll be back as soon as I'm back in Perry Hall :)

First time experiencing Desantis we ordered a large pizza (Matthew's with cheese or both cheese, can't remember), a meatball sub, and an antipasto salad. Everything was very good (especially the meatballs) but I guess I was just shocked at the size of the large pizza. Anyone can easily eat a whole one themselves. We came back another time to eat in for the Tuesday wing special ($15 for 20 wings and a pitcher of beer, domestic only though, thank God they had Yuengling because I refuse to drink Coors Light; also says $12 for this special on their website so they should probably update that). We got mild wings and the combo of honey mustard and jerk wings. Both were delicious, some of the best wings I have had since moving to Baltimore about 6 months ago. We also ordered the Desantis fries (cheddar cheese, bacon and ranch) and they were heavenly. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. Will definitely be back for wings and meatball subs, maybe try some other things!

Ok... I'm giving two stars based on TODAY's service. I would give this place a 4 any other day, but not today. I just left "De Santis" and for the first time, I wished that I've had gone some place else. First of all, we get there and the girls up front are very serious, not a smile, not a welcoming greeting, just right to the business. We waited a little bit for our table and once we were seated than came a very strange waitress... She seamed in a rush and very short, again, not a smile, not a good first impression... I ask her for a specific wine that I ALWAYS order at De Santis, ALWAYS and she says in an angry tone: "we don't have that", So I say that I always ordered there, and she said "we never have that wine", I felt like she was calling me a liar... I politely asked her to verify that, she goes and comes back: "like I said, we don't have that"... ok, fine... I was not caring anymore, but I had people with me, so asked her, do you have "Pepsi" or "Coke", she said: "Pepsi", so I ordered a regular one, once my "cola" arrives and I take a sip, it was VERY SWEET, hmmmm.... definitely not "Pepsi", I asked her to have another one, and she says: "It might be Coke, I don't even know what they have here", and yells at someone in the kitchen: "Do we server Pepsi or Coke?", and the guy answers: "We serve Coke"... so I ordered water... so, can you please explain to me how you don't know what kind of drinks do they have in the restaurant you work for??? After that I just wanted to leave... just remember that all our conversation, was with her being short, rude and argumentative... funny thing was that once the check came... it was written: "Pepsi"... lol... seriously??? Next time I want a "Mattew's pizza", I should go down to "Mattews"....

Found a fly in my salad from this place (take out order). Always has a loud crowd outside of it nearly all hours of the day and tons of noise from the bar. Crowd is usually comprised of old salty mouth foggies or younger wife-beeter wearin' 'burban types trying to act cool and tough with arm fat girlfriends at a neighborhood bar, grill place (in a strip mall no less). Ok, this place is a bar with some tables in it to sit down and have a bite to eat. A pizza maybe, as there is quite a little bit of hubub about their pizzas. I was a bit taken aback by the pretentiousness of it all. Instead of nice simple pizzas sandwiches salads and the like, they have fancy shmancied it all up to justify higher prices. For the price of a pizza and salad here you might as well go to an actual restaurant and get a decent meal instead of glorified bar food. I found it ever so slightly reminiscent of the now defunct Raffeys, another Bel Air road bar masquerading as fine dining. Your food dollar is better spent elsewhere, not a bad joint for a drink with your buds though.

So, I went here twice about four years ago. Food: mediocre. Service: incredibly bad. I recall the server acted as if he was doing us a special favor, and was very put-out by it all. Today, I decided I would like to give them another chance. Food: mediocre. Service: friendly this time, at least, but still incredibly bad. Order was all messed up--no soup, no mushrooms on tomato pie as originally requested. What bothers me most is that the restaurant bills itself as a partner to Matthew's Pizza, a very good and very cool place in downtown Baltimore (in HIGHLANDTOWN, by the way, not Canton as Desantis is so eager to describe it), when it seems, as I was told by a waitress, that the only thing binding these two restaurants together is that Desantis' owner bought the tomato pie recipe from Matthew's owner and made it his own. So they are indeed not family members, not chain restaurants, not even partners in business. Just a purchased recipe, and not even as well done. And Desantis has painted their entire interior with pictures of Matthew's, to make things even weirder. If you want real pizza, and much better service, just go to Matthew's. In Highlandtown.

The other day my girlfriend and I got three items from this restaurant and two out of the three were terrible. We got crab dip as an appetizer and it was very thick. After the first bite we realized the dip was super thick because it was 90% cream cheese with a tiny bit of crab sprinkled in. Every bite I had of this dip was like taking a bite of a cream cheese block. I had stuffed shells as my entree. They were not very exciting at all. The quality of the shells was on par to the frozen shells that can be bought at the supermarket. I would be willing to bet money that my shells were simply microwaved before they got to me. The only thing we got that was ok was the crab pizza. No complaints there. We'll never eat at this place again. It was an overall waste of money.

Been coming here for a while and it has quickly become one of mine and my parents' favorite places to eat. They are usually quiet busy, so do not expect to be in and out whether it be the weekend or weekday. The services has always been friendly and I have been here at least a dozen times. The pizza is amazing too! True Matthews pizza as my parents remember from growing up in Canton back in the the 50's. To go pizzas are only $5 (I believe). My personal favorite dish is the Eastern Shore Crab Pasta. I can be on the oily side, but it is very much worth it! It's massive so be prepared (and excited) for a least 1-2 leftover meals! And I do not know how they charge under $20 with that much jumbo lump crab meat on there! To the people who said quite rude things about the patrons of Desantis...shame on you. If you do not like the food, service, decor, fine. But do not be so rude as to criticize those who are different than you. They are not trying to be the Charleston. They are a family oriented pizza place in a strip mall in Perry Hall. And a damn good one at that!

Nice, neighborhood place convenient to stop in and full of locals. People rave about their pizza but I find it to be just ok (spoiled by Jersey, I guess). Recently ordered the crab pizza, which was good, except for the large pieces of onion all over the pizza. That was a surprise. The little Italy salad (very similar to Sabatino's bookmaker salad) was excellent. Good, family friendly atmosphere.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
