The truest definition of your local neighborhood bar. Curb Shoppe can be tough to spot as you drive down Falls Road but be sure to stop in, have a beer and grab a bite. What caught us most at first was that despite not being from the neighborhood they treat you like you've lived there your whole life. Chris (Kristin or Christine?) so nice and makes you feel right at home. It's like having mom serving you beer and bar food. We ordered wings and a couple of cheeseburgers. Now these aren't "fancy" burgers, just plain cheeseburgers, lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions, but man are they good!!! The food is good and fairly priced, the beer is cheap, and they make you feel like you just came home. Doesn't get any better!

The food here is in so incredible!!! If Patty Melts are your thing then the Curbe Shoppe is the right place for you! Also the wings here are phenomenal, and they are half off during Orioles games what more can you ask for.

Superb hospitality. From Birmingham and they treated me like I was in my local favorite bar. Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere.

I came here for lunch based on all the great reviews and did not find what I was expecting. I would call this place a truck stop bar and grille. I was anticipating something more. Regardless, I've been to some good bars like this before, so I did not run away. I ordered a fried fish sandwich, and I'd say it was slightly better than McDonald's. It came in a square patty, so I'm assuming it was frozen shortly before my meal. I was hoping for something a little fresher. Judging by other reviews, they have solid burgers, but alas, I'm a Catholic on a Friday in Lent and could not order one. The bartender was friendly, and there were a couple TV's on, so I enjoyed myself. On service alone, I'd give it a four. There only appeared to be 3 parking spots, but there were at least 10 people there, so they must have more spots out back. Had I come for an after work happy hour, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more, but if you're just looking for food, it's not as worth the 4.5 stars it has right now.

Great service and great pub food! The place is kinda small so I will probably do take out next time. There is a lively crowd there so it's a great place to go and watch a Raven's or O's game.

It's my local bar. Ron is the man, provides great service. Ive had the wings here and they are good.

I decided to eat here and give this place a try. The service is good, they are very nice but the food was average. The bacon on my burger was a little undercooked but other than that it was good.

Food: the food is as good as any restaurant or grill in the Baltimore area. The burgers and fries are on point. Staff: you will not find a friendlier staff in all the land. The staff makes it feel like a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. Atmosphere: cozy, relaxed, everyone knows your name type of place.

Ever since discovering this "hole-in-the-wall" place, I've been here many times for lunch. Come hungry, as most sandwiches are piled high. Made to order burgers are some the area's best. Popular daily specials are shrimp salad and meatball subs -- I had the shrimp salad today and a coworker had the meatball sub. Both were terrific! Fresh shrimp salad that was pretty much shrimp salad with a great cajun-like seasoning to it. Not much else to it that would take the taste of the shrimp away. I could eat a big bowl of it. The meatball sub on a toasted roll came pilled high with meatballs. Probably like 7 or 8 of em. You really don't leave hungry here. The people here are great too. Sandy is the nice and friendly one who will serve you most days, while Paul cooks the food to perfection. I wish it didn't take me 5 years to find out about this place.

You can see my City Paper review of this place from back in 1998 on the wall. Now that they've added what may be The Most Delicious Wings Ever to their generous pours, I'm inclined to become a regular once again, despite living on the other side of town. And yes, it is still Baltimore's Best Spontaneous Sing-Along bar.

For a neighborhood bar, especially in the Mt. Washington area I have to give it four stars. Where do you go anymore to find basic bar food. I mean, I love gourmet burgers and fancy fries or salads, but this place is pretty good and priced right. Get a burger with all the bar's fixings and some steak fries and a couple beers--you'll leave pretty happy. Beer specials are a good deal most of the week. Liquor prices vary and you could probably drink cheaper somewhere else, but you can't beat the service and quality. I'm definitely a fan of this bar.

It's spots like this that remind you why yelp is so helpful and necessary, especially in certain places like the somewhat tiny Mt. Washington slice of Baltimore. First off, this is not downtown. Had it not been for a local who recommended it (and yelp!) we would have driven right by the Curb Shoppe on a Saturday night. Thanks to both as we enjoyed our first (and certainly not last) experience here. PARKING: Speaking of driving, parking is a bit tight with only a few spots right in front and a few others in the nearby vicinity. You might want to Uber it if you can. Who knows there might be parking elsewhere. I defer to the locals for that. AMBIANCE: I agree with the other reviewer who said this looks more like a rec room than a restaurant or bar. There's nothing wrong with that but it's definitely on point! Just don't be shocked when you walk in for the first time. When we arrived around 9pm it was pretty empty but by 11 it started filling up with a decent pool crowd. Not sure if they were regulars, but as much as I love pool, I did not want to go up against the serious crowd trickling in! They meant billiards business! FOOD & SERVICE: We really enjoyed the bartender - he was super courteous and attentive. The food was tasty. I wouldn't say amazing but that might have been because we got there shortly before the kitchen was about to close. Totally understandable. Even once the kitchen closed, they were accommodating to the latecomers in case they wanted any food. I can see how this place can get crowded during the earlier hours as there aren't many tables to eat at. There's always the bar but that's not the most family friendly option obviously. Lastly, you can't beat their prices whether it's for drinks or food. A great deal for the amount of food you get and the love that goes into making it. The menu has plenty of options including Bmore favs and other traditional pub grub. As a true Marylander I tried the fries and gravy after seeing that they offer gravy on its own as a carryout option (!!!!!!) I wasn't let down and hope to visit again for more! TIPS: They have a special deal on wings when the O's play so make sure not to forget about that perk as the wings were some of the best I've had! Like some other spots in Bmore, they can sell you alcohol (6 packs of beer, bottles of wine) even if you're not dining there. Always a plus when you're on your way home from work and there isn't a liquor store in site which isn't uncommon in this part of town. Also, if you come here for drinks or pool after the kitchen closes, they have some chips and other things available for purchase. Again, nice touch if you want a little something to snack on.

Had the 'Dagwood Club' today. Another one of Paul's delectable creations. This sucker packs enough turkey, ham, and bacon for three separate sandwiches. You will need a nap afterwards. The sloppy joe has been a rotating lunch special recently. You cannot finish this without a knife and fork (as it should be). I recommend a bit of Sandy's special extra hot sauce on top for a kick. And don't forget the in-house half price wings during O's games!

This doesn't look like a restaurant inside, it looks like someone's basement rec room. Wood paneling and all. But, don't let that deter you. The service is really friendly and the food is yummy. I had a burger (actually, a slider at the waitress' recommendation) and it was one of the best burgers I've had. The fries are steak fries that are really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I usually, steak fries are not crispy, so I was happy. I wish they came with some kind of seasoning, ala Red Robin, but they were pretty darn good with salt and pepper. There were two police officers eating at the bar, and I guess sensing my hesitation at eating here for the first time, the waitress said "see, you're safe here," and remarked that health department employees eat there too. It's a very friendly, comfortable place with good sandwiches and both coke and pepsi products. Can't beat that.

Why did we wait so long to come here?! In a nutshell, this place can be cramped and parking may be a pain, but the food is tasty and the ladies that work here have got to be the nicest people ever. It's kind of like that super nice Aunt, whom you haven't visited in awhile, and all she wants to do is feed you and dote on you the entire time you're there. What you really need to know is that they serve Patty Melts! (I have a soft spot in my heart - and stomach - for a good Patty Melt.) But, even better, is that it comes with bacon! (Um, hello - I said bacon!) Plus, they serve killer gravy fries - thick gravy over steak fries, yum. My husband and I split an appetizer, he ordered a beer, a bacon cheeseburger and fries, plus my order above and the total came out to roughly $24! How can you beat that? (Just so you know, you can't - so just make your way here soon and enjoy it!)

If you are not paying attention you will drive right by it.! This place is a dive and I love dives! Staff is friendly and patrons are down to earth and happy to strike up a conversation with you. Went there with my wife and we had a couple of beers and club sandwiches. They were awesome. Definitely will go back again.

Great food, solid drink offerings, and friendly staff. Paul came out of the kitchen to tell us about the specials and take our orders as we were clearly non-regulars. The food was excellent, and the burger was cooked exactly as asked (not a well-done medium-rare like most places do these days!) It may not be the fanciest of restaurants, but if you want that you go a quarter mile over the interstate...and pay more for a drink than you would for the entire bill at Curb Shoppe! This a hidden gem in that area that deserves more exposure.

Great little place. Not much to look at and the front door is hard to find. There is parking just past it in the right in a nice lot. Huge menu and a bar. Not really a kids place because it is a bar but they do have a kid menu. The burgers were excellent and awesome wings. The waitstaff was very friendly and the tables were clean.

I've been driving past this place for months since I moved to the Mount Washington area. So glad I finally made it in last night. It's a total dive with great burgers and friendly people. Just a really solid joint! My friend and I both got dinner and 3 or 4 drinks. Tab was only around $40 bucks. A steal! I'll definitely be back here soon for a low key, cheapy bite. My kind of place!

Went to the Curb Shoppe last night for a Burger and Cold One after a very long day at the office. What a great place. If you didn't know better, you would drive past this little whole in the wall like I have done for the past 20 years. Great place for food; cold drinks and they even have a Pool Table! "I WILL BE BACK!"

Great bacon cheeseburgers! It's definitely a bar atmosphere but the food is good and cheap and the staff is friendly.

This is a great place to go for a Friday night Happy Hour. Free food, it's always been either cold cut sandwiches or tacos, and cheap drinks. We'd only been there 3 times and the bartender knew our drinks (nice memory). There is a cast of local characters in there playing pool, the poker machines, and just in general having a good time with each other. They seem to all be regulars. Even though we weren't regulars, we were made to feel welcome and just as much of a priority as everyone else. It should be a place you try out, especially on a Friday after 5.

Kind of a hole on the wall. Dubious in many respects. Okay to shoot pool at. Cheap beer. Don't mess with the locals(friendly advice).
