The food was great, and they brought it up to my floor rather than the lazy traditional leaving it with the door man. It was delivered fast. Everything was actually there so I'd say they're pretty accurate. As far as a standard american Chinese food, this was really good.

No stars for no food. I ordered via eat24 app. The restaurant confirmed the order with an estimated 45 minute delivery time. Waited 90 minutes, no food, called restaurant twice. No answer. Had eat24 try to contact restaurant. Wouldn't answer for them either. Cancelled order and had eat24 refund me.

I cannot believe the rating for China Express is so low. Perhaps reviewers before me forgot this is a freaking Chinese food carryout joint. When this place stacks up against the other Chinese carryouts, China Express stands out among the pack. I have done both delivery and carryout (mostly carryout) many times, and besides the one time they forgot my free egg rolls (which you get by mentioning the offer when you order over the phone after sending at least $20), they have got my orders correctly each time and packed well. One minor complaint is they never give you napkin, but a variety of sauce packets, plastic utensils, and fortune cookies. Food is great for a cheap Chinese carryout. Items such as the scallion pancakes, egg rolls, shrimp egg rolls (in which there are 2 pieces of actual shrimp!), pizza egg rolls (cheese and marinara sauce inside an egg roll shell), boneless pork, and crab wontons are hidden gems and absolutely delicious. Their pork fried rice and lo mein have the marinated red boneless pork in them, while the chicken variety contain strips of white chicken meat. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are visiting Union Memorial Hospital and/or Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus!

Nope, nope, nope. To be fair, I'd read the reviews before ordering and knew better. I was just suspending belief. There's really not much to say for this place aside from it just being the absolutely worst food I've ever put in my mouth. Not the worst Chinese food, mind you, but the worst food. Period. I ordered the Orange Chicken. Since a picture speaks a thousand words I'll just post that and you can infer the rest.

My Chinese New Year dinner! We got our food delivered. We ordered the "Americanized" Chinese food items, such as orange chicken and General Tso's chicken, and they were pretty good! I would suggest trying the fried crabmeat cheese wontons as an appetizer. The delivery was pretty quick and the prices are reasonable. There is no delivery fee for orders over $10!

Worst Chinese food I've had in a long, long time. Avoid at all costs. They got my order wrong, but it really didn't matter since everything that did come was awful. At best, it was flavorless. At worst, it was inevitable. The bulk of it went into the trash can. Disgusting.

I can't believe the ratings are so low!!! They arrive quite faster than I read from the reviews, I ordered from them several times, and they never disappointed me. The food is okay- just like any other Chinese takeout place. Personally love the duck noodle soup.

I have to disagree with Oliver's review. I live in Mount Vernon and had a completely different experience with China Express. First, and most loathsome, was the fact that they took over 2 hours to deliver. I called them multiple times after the first hour and kept on getting the "5 more minutes" response. Second, when the food finally arrived, everything was cold and soggy. There were open containers of food and sweet and sour chicken spilled into the bagged. In fact, the food had sat out for so long that the sodas were room temperature and the sauce in the general tso's chicken (which looked more like orange chicken) had congealed and look like mounds of jello. I think the prices are comparable to other Chinese restaurants in the area and, if you can find one, I suggest you go to a competitor. There's one in downtown Baltimore from whom I have ordered before and they delivered everything you expect from a Chinese food restaurant (good tasting food, speedy delivery, accurate delivery estimate, etc.).

I ordered delievery from China Express for lunch. Food came quickly and was hot. But it was disgusting, easily the worst I've had. Andre's description of the food is spot on. I won't ever order here again.

If you live in Mt. Vernon, this should be your go to place for Chinese delivery. It may not be the most gourmet Chinese Food, but you get what you pay for. Food comes fast, hot, and in large quantities.

This location is amazing! This is some the best Chinese food I have ever tasted and it is a great price! Everything is delicious as we have ordered several different items off the menu. The ease of ordering either by phone or by Eat24 app is flawless! I highly recommend China Express!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
