Resembles a college bar, with it's very casual atmosphere. I went on a Thursday night and it was packed by 8pm. They do the flip for your beer thing so you can really rack up a bunch of free beers!

I rarely write reviews, but C&R consistently impresses me. 1) Their Crabby Tots are absolutely delicious. It's the perfect combination of sweet potato and creamy crab dip. This is my number one recommendation if you are coming to eat. 2) Bartender Aaron makes the BEST drinks. Ask for his specialty (an A-Bomb) if you're looking for something tasty but powerful. His upbeat personality and welcoming demeanor have made him one of our favorite bartenders in Fed Hill. 3) Manager Ryan has approached us a few times to ask how our food tasted and make sure our experience was enjoyable. I appreciated the personalized outreach and professional temperament. It's kinda rare for a Fed Hill establishment. Plus the staff seems to love him! 4) If you're looking to drink cheap, check out Flip Night on Thursdays. We are regulars! Even if you're not the biggest country music fan, I recommend C&R. The atmosphere is inviting and we always seem to have a blast!!

The C&R pub is on S.Charles Street, just South of Cross Street Market, next to Mothers. It has a decently large space inside with a variety of seats (and could accommodate a large group) some seating is also out front on a shallow 'patio'. The restaurant (Cowboys and Rednecks) has a country theme. One glance over the menu and you can see this theme playing out, but really, the food is standard 'bar' food with sandwiches, burgers, salads, and nacho type stuff. To be honest, if they shared a common kitchen with Mother's and just rebranded the food, I wouldn't be surprised....very similar. We were warmly greeted by (who I think was the manager) when we came in. You can sit wherever you want, so we chose to take one of the patio-esque tables. There was a 'specials' sheet clipped inside the menu, so if you don't see that, it might be worth asking. They seemed to have ~5 special items for the day (Thursday). We took a few minutes to review and then put in our order. They have a variety of options for 'fries', things like sweet potato, maryland crab (old bay), tater tots, and the holy grail: sweet potato tater tots. So be aware of these and make the right decision. Among our group one person got a salad, one got the shrimp tacos, and I got the sweet and spicy chicken wrap. The salad was pretty significant (but was also more than the other entrees), so if you like big salads you won't be let down..but you're not saving any money. The shrimp tacos looked good, and there were no complaints from the guy that ordered that. My wrap was good. I had it with fried chicken and it has carrots and vegetables, all with a sweet thai chili sauce. The sauce was definitely more sweet than hot, and the sweet potato tater tots on the side were also very good. From a food perspective , everything was as expected. You're probably not going out of your way to come back for it, but it's good and certainly somewhere to keep in the rotation. My only complaint/concern was that our server must have been an android. She wasn't rude, but she just seemed like he hated life. Never a smile, never a sign of emotion at all, just a flat affect....like a machine. I write it up to maybe a bad day (to which we're on entitled), but it was definitely noticed. I would have almost preferred her telling us "I'm having a terrible day, sorry if I'm not friendly". But oh well, maybe next time she'll be more happy. I'd be curious to check this place out at night, and see if the main business is more a night scene or the restaurant. The space looks great for coming back for drinks, so I may be following this up later.

So after dinner, we went around the corner to see what the bar life was like and stumbled upon Cowboy's and Redneck's. It's a great bar and the bartender Ron was the best!!! On Tuesdays that have $4 shots of Fireball and Jameson, $5 Assorted Fruit Crush drinks and $2 tacos. The tacos were ok. It was typical bar food. Ron was very attentive to our needs while managing two bars and he did it seamlessly I will definitely grab more drinks from here. If in fed hill, stop by and ask for Ron

Ron the bartender was awesome! Very cool guy who appeared to be tending to mine and 2 other bars' worth of people's orders with grace. On Tuesday nights there are 4$ Jameson and Fireball shots, a vast assortment of $5 crushes, and 2$ assorted tacos (plus beer specials). After adding a shot of grey goose, I enjoyed my grapefruit crush thoroughly... After adding pica de gallo , I enjoyed the 2$ chicken tacos, and I had a good time with the trivia going on as well. A great place to do some "turning UP... On a Tuuuuesday."

Based on the other reviews, I'd really like to come back here for the food. I've only been here for drinks and the place is pretty cool. Nothing but country songs all night. Drinks are good and fairly priced. Good spot for good music and drinks with friends.

We were in here and would have loved to stay longer but the fact that it was about 100 degrees inside made it unbearable. It was a cold night too. They could have easily just opened the door but it was way too hot inside there. We grabbed some moonshine and a few beers, played some beer pong on the arcade game and left. I would have loved to stay longer if it weren't for the heat.

I've only been here once at night, but that was enough. The country theme and music was obnoxious (IMO) and the wait for drinks was ridiculous considering it wasn't THAT crowded. It's also very spread out with not a lot of security or visibility, which makes me uneasy as a younger female. Way too many grabby guys and wandering eyes for me to feel comfortable.

Fiance and I came here on our mini bar tour of Federal Hill pre-Ravens game. So many pros: a) Length of happy hour b) Prices ($2.75 for a draft beer. HEECK Yes) c) Yummy cocktails also at good price - grapefruit vodka? I'm a fan d) They grill their wings. Bonus for making me feel slightly healthy while eating wings e) Space/Ambiance. Huge long bar and lots of TVs. Music being played at a reasonable volume. Adore. Mini con: Can we have just normal buffalo wings? I like the idea of buffalo garlic, but I really just wanted more buffalo.

I had a delicious pasta dish. I think it was the special. Friendly guys behind the bar. They had great advice on food selections. The frat and sorority madness usually starts at around 11:30. Love the music and the bar. Gets too crowded and shots are way too expensive. Cheers!

Enjoyed my first flip night and did not pay for a single beer! Tails never fails, y'all. If you want to chat with friends drinking cheap beer (if you're lucky) and listen to some country music, C&R is the move. Very casual atmosphere, no dancing, games in the back! I also hear the Monday night $12.95 ribeye dinner is good and really generously portioned, so check that out if you're in the mood!

Love this place during the day and at night! If you can get a spot outside during the day, this is the perfect place to post up and drink with some friends. They have a special on crushes, which can be just a little bit dangerous! And if you do happen to be here during the day, I strongly encourage you to get the crab tater tots. Literally my two favorite foods put together. Omg I'm salivating just thinking about it!

I've gone here a few times. Weekday lunch or during happy hour has been quite enjoyable. Also have gone for brunch - don't recommend the mimosas but the bloodies are ok. Food is decent. Good specials. Can get a bit loud, so keep that in mind.

Came into eat with my Living Social deal and it was such a pleasant surprise! Their happy hour deals are ridiculously cheap, the wings are grilled and not breaded - thank God! I wish they had a teriyaki flavor but it's called cowboys and rednecks so... Anyways the food was delicious and portions were huge. The crabby tots appetizer was humongous! The fries were perfect and the wings are amazing. Service was quick and servers were attentive. Really clean bathrooms seals the deal. Can't wait to come back and bring the family.

I love country music, if I go to the bars in Federal Hill, I'm usually hanging out at C&R. I also really love hamburgers. A friend recently suggested to me that I check out C&R and order a burger. I took her advice and headed over with my friend as a dining companion. C&R by day is only slightly different than C&R by night. They continue to play some of my favorite country songs but it's considerably less packed. After looking over the menu, my friend decided to order wings. Her current favorite is the honey old bay from The Local Fry. Instead of going with her typical old bay flavor, she decided to try the C&R BBQ Wings. These were really good and incredibly juicy and the sauce was delicious. While they're not the best wings either of us have had in Federal Hill, they are still great. The main reason we went to C&R was for the burgers. There were a few different burgers on the menu and I decided on the Cowpoke Burger. This delicious burger was topped with candied jalapenos, crispy onion straws, and chipotle queso and served on a pretzel roll. This burger was incredibly flavorful and I loved the smokey southwest flavor. I'd order it again in an instant. If you're looking for a great burger, or some other awesome pub grub, head over to C&R.

I loathe country music, but my friends love it so I usually lose the argument of where we are gonna go barhop and end up here at some point on the weekends. But after a few drinks, I guess I don't mind so much. Nightlife: * Thursday night is "Flip Night," where you bet to see if you can get a free drink. Order your drinks and then call heads or tails and the bartender flips a quarter. If you guess correctly your drinks are free! Runs only till 11 pm though. * C&R isn't a bar where you would dance. Every time I have been here its just people standing around and drinking. Food/Drinks: I've only had the crabby tots here, but they are amazing! You can choose either sweet potato tots or regular tots covered with warm, delicious crab dip. And its served in a iron skillet so they stay nice and toasty for a while. I've also stopped by after an Orioles came and grabbed a Crush. On the weekend it's $5 for an orange or grapefruit crush. Ask for a half and half crush -- it tastes way better! Bathrooms: Usually clean and I've never seen a long line even though there's only three stalls for women. I'd recommend C&R if you're looking to watch a sports game during the day or if you're looking for a more chill night out where you won't get pushed around as much as some of the other bars nearby.

I have only eaten at C&R for brunch but recently checked them out for dinner with a girlfriend. We enjoyed the Happy Hour specials from the patio but it started to rain and we sadly had to move inside. The music was LOUD inside and as much as I love country music, we wanted to catch up so we moved to the back of the dining room and found a secluded table to talk. I ordered the plain burger and substituted mashed potatoes for my fries. The burger was DELICIOUS but the mashed potatoes were more milk than anything and I didn't eat much. I will be back to try some different things on the menu and hopefully enjoy my meal on the patio!

This is my first review on yelp, so bear with me. I was hoping my first review would be a positive one, but it appears that was not meant to be. My friends and I popped into CNR for a few beers and upon arriving, I asked the bartender what the specials were. He distinctly said $2 bud lights and $4 blue moons. As such, I ordered 5 bud lights for my fiends and I. Later I went back and ordered another for myself and asked to close my tab. When I received the tab it was for over 25$. Not something that I would usually make a fuss about, but it was clearly stated to both my friends and I that bud lights were $2, only to find out they were $4.50. I may have understood if I misheard a 2 vs. 4, but I 100% did not hear 4.50. Upon receiving the bill I tried to explain the situation, but multiple people wrote me off like I was a drunk idiot. To that point I had consumed 1 bud light, so I was completely with it, so to speak. After trying to convey what I had been told and being denied, I paid the bill to just be done with the matter. With that said, I will not go back to CNR and will tell my friends to avoid it as well. There is nothing to stop bartenders from screwing you over. As a former bartender, I understand that people misspeak sometimes, so if someone would have taken the time to try to understand my point of view I would have been appreciative. However, I received a standoff-ish attitude that implied I was either making the situation up or that it was entirely my fault. Regardless, I hope a manager at CNR sees this and is able to properly instruct their bartenders on how to treat patrons.

Good food, eh service... We came in at the end of a Ravens game/beginning of an Orioles game. It was quite busy, but not overwhelming so. We were say immediately at an outside table which was great! It took about 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. We already knew what we wanted food and drink wise so we ordered right away. Three of us got burgers (all with different toppings) and one person got some sort of buffalo chicken sandwich. Food came out pretty quickly. One of the girls burger was wrong and came with the wrong side. When she asked for the tots she ordered instead of the fries, our server seemed quite annoyed. She didn't bother to send the burger back with all the wrong toppings. When she came back, one of the girls asked for a refill and she brought it out quickly. I hadn't heard her ask b/c it was loud, so when she came back, I asked for my drink to be refilled. Again, she seemed annoyed that she had to come back to us. My burger was delish! A lot of cheddar on it, good thick crisp bacon, and a nice toasted bun! I thought the fries were good too, but I wish I had gotten the tots like everyone else b/c they were great! We finished pretty quickly b/c we had flights to catch and we asked for the check to be split up. Apparently this is a huge deal. Our server, gives us the most pissed off look, and says "really?...ooook, I'll try to get my manager...". I guess it says it on the menu in teeeeeny tiiinnnyy print to tell your server before ordering if the check will be split, but honestly, first, if its that important, mention it when taking orders. I've heard it a million times from servers, "are we going to be on one check or separate?" prior to ordering. Second, when you see a group of people, most of the time, they're going to want to pay individually and restaurant systems can all do this pretty quickly! She came back with separate checks quickly, so it obviously wasn't that difficult. I understand that it was a busy day, but no need for the massive amount of attitude being thrown at us.

Okay so I am a small town girl with a country like back ground. When it comes to a bar called Cowboys and Rednecks, my expectations rise... or should I say lower? In the sense that it was almost too nice. I mean it's awesome don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun listening to country music, playing buck hunter and having a beer, but for a country bar - I look for the real redneck of the whole place. This place was just too nice. Would I come back? yeah sure why not? Would I stay all night... eh probably not. It's a good place for a bar crawl though! Enjoy!

C & R is refreshing, different, and very country with a redneck vibe; though, it's in Baltimore... The inside is large, clean and has a ton of bar room. Country music is the play list -- so don't expect to hear Biebers newest song here, and there is a good amount of space to dance too. The menu resembles a steak house, mostly what you would expect from place with the words cowboy and redneck in the name. Oh, and if you're a fan of whiskey they have a ton of N. American style whiskeys. Also during Thursday's you can get Miller Lite for $2.5 a bottle which is competitive to the surrounding bars. But don't fret if you're a beer affictionato, as there are also roughly 5 microdraughts on tap too. The interior is nice, and a little too clean for the cowboy theme for me -- but I'm not complaining. I would recommend a stop in for a alternative to the other local Fed. Hill bars. 3 stars.

I live a few blocks from here now. It's become my regular Federal Hill hangout. It's a typical c-w bar, but the staff is very friendly. In addition, the food is really quite good. Their burgers in particular are excellent and imaginative. I hope they bring back the excellent BLT on their lunch menu. I also liked the grilled cheese/tomato soup special a lot also. Give it try on a week night. It becomes a typical FederalHill bar on weekends.

Late at night: Walked up to (not super crowded) bar "Are you ready? are you ready? are you ready????" I'm sorry, can we look at what you have and make decisions? Bartenders don't have time for you. Come to listen to country music but don't expect good service. Daytime Food: We had their burgers at the Heavy Seas Burgers and Brews Festival - and they were great! I wish the first night I set foot in the place didn't leave such a sour taste in my mouth, maybe I would have gone back for food one night

Good spot for beers and football. All we had for food were the wings and they were delicious. I'd definitely come back here for watching sports or enjoying a nice day while having a beer. For deck is small but a nice spot if you can get a table out there.

This place is absurdly silly and feels mighty out of place in Fed Hill. Well, I take that back. It feels like a frat party where the eternal theme is "country stuff". They have standard Fed Hill bar stuff. Cold beer, no place to sit or stand, and people who are trying way too hard.

This is one of my favorite late-night places, I always have fun at C & R. Recently, I went to trivia (Tuesdays), so I got to see it in the afternoon as well. Service was quick and friendly, and the specials are good ($2 tacos, $2.75 coronas, $5 crushes and fireball). Word to the wise about trivia: they don't really police it, so people cheat. A lot. Which kind of ruins the point, but is less of a reflection on the establishment than on some people who were attending.

Came here for the Monday night special. And was so impressed I had to leave a review. Came in on a ravens game night, so needless to say all bars in the area were packed. We found a seat outside as soon as we arrived, and the waiter went and found us extra chairs! Then we got the steak special, which was great. I would compare it to a $30 steak I've had at a steak house. Great service on a very busy night and good was much better than expected.

I only give this place 3 stars instead of 4 because of service related issues. Their food is quite good, especially the Baja salad with tuna, the wings, and their sandwiches. Their beer selection is great, including several local favorites. Awesome happy hour prices and a nice outdoor seating area right on Charles St. However, the service is catered to the young Fed Hill crowd which means that things can take a while. Their liquor drinks are mixed pretty weak for my taste and I once went in for a burger only to find that they were out...of ground beef...and their name is Cowboys and Rednecks. In summary, it's a great place to go for tasty pub food and beers, especially when you are not in any kind of hurry.

This is a great bar to drink at! I wouldn't eat here again though. There has been multiple occasions when I have seen waiters eat tatar tots off customers plates prior to bringing their food to them...so unprofessional and gross!

We went to C&R on a Saturday night. We got drinks and ordered the crabby tatter tots. It was not a good dish. The tots were covered in a thick congealed white sauce that was overwhelmingly sweet. After two tots I got physically nauseous. I highly suggest anyone coming here to only order drinks and steer clear of the food menu.

We were scheduled to go a holiday lights tour through a Living Social deal that was supposed to depart from this pub. Having never been here before we decided to get there early to enjoy dinner. By far the highlight of this experience was the service! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Long story short, our tour was canceled which we were unaware of but had an inkling as the tour start time approached and no tour guide was in sight. The staff was very helpful and even called the tour company to figure out what was going on. They went above and beyond and were very friendly and helpful. Now onto the food. We really enjoyed the chicken wings! Even better was the happy hour price of $5.00 for a dozen wings. We ordered the crabby tater tots as well, which were okay, but too sweet to enjoy them all. The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich we also enjoyed were very good. If in the area, we would definitely visit again.

If you can't handle hot wings then you better be careful with the spicy garlic wings cause they'll catch up to you after a few bites. I was expecting a small basket especially on a half price wing's night but this was more than I could eat! Good thing I had some beer to calm the heat in my mouth. They marinate the wings and bake them so you can eat as many as your stomach can handle. The bartender was great and took care of pretty much the entire place including all the tables. Not sure why the girls at the door weren't helping out? I would think it would be more important to have awesome service even though the bartender had us covered. Just ask him for the specials cause the girls at the door were unsure. They have huge TV on the wall and many more throughout the place. It was awesome.

C&R stands for Cowboys and Rednecks, and the place lives up to its name (but don't expect anything more; there's no mechanical bull or anything). It's extremely un-pretentious, which is a nice change from places like Stalking Horse in Federal Hill or Bond Street Social in Fells Point. They have a DJ on Friday nights, and happy hour goes till 10 on Fridays as well. Their food is pretty good, I've had the sliders and they were delicious. I saw someone order crab tater tots but they ran out when I tried to order =( I got a CBS Local deal voucher for here so I will update my review if I end up getting brunch or something.

I have been wanting to check this place out. I believe it opened about three months ago. The C & R breaks out to Cowboys and Rednecks, so it has a country theme to it, which is missing in the Fed Hill area. It also is a great place to watch a game. TVs are everywhere, and they have a really big screen in the main area for the big game. They are still figuring out their nightly special, so today (30th of Jan) they were experimenting with half-price steaks on Monday. I sure hope they keep that, because the steak was amazing. I had the Filet Mignon and my brother had the T-Bone...neither of us was willing to share a bite, so I can only speak for mine. My steak was cooked perfectly, and had a great crust. There was also a large helping of garlic potatoes and a side plate of broccoli. It was the best steak I have had in a long time. The atmosphere of the place was really nice. They had country music playing, but it wasn't obnoxious. The bartender said this is the usual, but on the busy nights they do mix it up with a lot of rock and roll for the younger peeps. I will definitely be back for another round, even without the half-priced steaks!

terrible service at the bar. the male bartenders were more interested in talking with their buddies and flirting with girls than serving customers. I had to ask several times for a drink and got attitude when they finally gave it to me. There are way too many bars in that area with good service to go to C & R and be treated like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you.

I wasn't thrilled when I realized my friends wanted me to meet them at this place. As I walked in, I was really regretting the idea of coming out on Thursday night. The place was crowded, younger crowd, and I was worried someone was going to puke on my boots or spill beer on my bag. Luckily, the back area wasn't so crowded, and they were still serving food at 10pm. They have AMAZING WINGS!!! It was $5 for the dozen wings, Thursday night special, and nacho was big too. And don't forget to flip the coin for free beer. If you get it right, your beer is free. And my BF got all of it right so we only paid for the food. As it passed 11pm, most people left, since the deal ends at 11pm. It's really country theme, and if you don't mind the country music, this is a really great place to hang out for food or drinks. If you hate country music, well, I don't even know why you even think of going to a place called cowboys & rednecks, I'm just saying...

This place only gets two stars because my dog really enjoys the steak smell when we walk by. Otherwise it's lousy. I've been twice, once for late-night drinks and ogling of the opposite sex, and once for brunch. First of all, someone in another post mentioned that Fed Hill "needed" a place with a theme, like Cowboys and Rednecks. Really now? Another crappy bar, just now with country music? Wow, excellent. It is literally on a street with four other large cheap-beer-and-wings bars. What was there before was a nice restaurant/lounge with wine and great food. Sad. But even on it's own merits, well, blech. I can't comment much on the Saturday night meat market. Not my thing. No one vomited on me, but then again we were only there for about an hour. Brunch was lousy. Poor service (really terrible, kept having to flag people down although we were almost the only people there and there were several bartenders behind the bar just a few feet away). Also, it was at least 90 degrees out and very humid, but there was no air conditioning to be had. Really, I am not that interested in a big omelet when I am pretty sure I am going to melt into a puddle on the grimy floor. Really, no one in Fed Hill is either a Cowboy or a Redneck. This bar just throws that all pretty sharply into perspective. Failure all around.

Went on Monday for the half priced steak and wine. Steak was high-quality and came out perfect medium-rare. The server Lou gave excellent, attentive service. Highly recommended, the food is a cut above other Federal Hill "bars" and the value (especially on Monday) are near unbeatable in Baltimore. Thanks C&R.

103 degrees outside today and probably 85 inside C&R. I wish the hotness could be blamed on the waitresses alone, and don't get me wrong, they are cute, but no that wasn't it. It was hot and muggy. When I asked the waitress if their AC was broken she said, no I think it is just because it is hot outside. So it was hot, and humid, and I needed a beer, good thing for me it was Happy Hour and the draft brews were only 2.50! A couple Loose Cannon drafts for that price is why this place gets two stars. The food was average at best, and in reality there is plenty better in Fed HIll. My dinning companions and fellow patrons were not exactly who I would expect in a place called Cowboys and Rednecks so even though the country music was loud, there was NO authenticity to the place. All in all it was very average, if I am being kind. I may try it again some day, but I won't be rushing in that direction.

(3)Ky T.

(4)Michael R.
(3)Caitlin C.
(1)Erin R.
(4)Jarrett D.

(4)Tara C.

Enjoy!
(3)Joe K.
Hill bars. 3 stars.
(3)Robert S.
(4)Laura S.
(1)Joseph G.
Good spot for beers and football. All we had for food were the wings and they were delicious. I'd definitely come back here for watching sports or enjoying a nice day while having a beer. For deck is small but a nice spot if you can get a table out there.
(4)Lauren S.
This place is absurdly silly and feels mighty out of place in Fed Hill. Well, I take that back. It feels like a frat party where the eternal theme is "country stuff". They have standard Fed Hill bar stuff. Cold beer, no place to sit or stand, and people who are trying way too hard.
(2)Eileen H.
(4)Matt H.
(4)Julia P.
This place is the bees knees! I've been coming here every Thursday night ever since i moved here! They have the best happy hour specials and flip night starts after seven. Ask for Alicia, she's our favorite server!
(5)Kelly J.
(3)L S.
This is a great bar to drink at! I wouldn't eat here again though. There has been multiple occasions when I have seen waiters eat tatar tots off customers plates prior to bringing their food to them...so unprofessional and gross!
(3)Joseph W.
(2)Tanya Z.
(5)Meredith J.
Stopped in only for drinks. I really like the openness and they did a great job making changes to the bar but the huge air conditioners look terrible.
(3)Nina U.
(4)Vicky D.
(4)Quinn W.
(5)Raymond O.
terrible service at the bar. the male bartenders were more interested in talking with their buddies and flirting with girls than serving customers. I had to ask several times for a drink and got attitude when they finally gave it to me. There are way too many bars in that area with good service to go to C & R and be treated like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you.
(1)Momo N.
(4)Brett A.
Their burgers are really good (great deals on Tuesdays) and their brunch is great too (esp. the bottomless bloody's/mimosa prices).
(4)Julia R.
(2)Gabriel M.
Thanks C&R.
(5)Marcel H.
A fun place, that plays the music you expect from the name. When we were there, there were some free shots (that I never would have paid for). Mixed crowd.
(3)Don R.
First time visit. Food was great. Had the pepper crusted tuna. Delisious and prepared just the way I like it. Crake cakes were great also. Had a sample of some drinks while there also. Plenty to choose from. We will go back as soon as we can.
(5)Jason S.
