We have lived in Fed Hill for a year now, and had never been to Brewer's Cask until Friday evening for dinner--not sure why we skipped this food and atmosphere gem for all this while. Intimate setting, friendly local bartenders and patrons, hot tasty bar food, and live music make this Fed Hill choice a no-brainer for future eating-out nights. Our beers were cold and fresh off the wide variety of draft beers, and both our chicken cheesesteak and black and blue sandwiches were fresh off the grill and delivered personally by what appeared to be the owner/manager. Quicker than average service. Live music was an acoustic 90s ballads plus tap dancing combo guy. Pretty unique and cool. Finally we tapped off the evening with a memorable dessert- the cookie cake - baked cookie with ice cream and whipped cream - a must order. Thanks BC for a great night of service! Be back soon!

Fantastic bar! Great staff, fantastic beer selection, and good food. If you're looking to try a good beer or two, give it a try. The staff is super knowledgable about all the beers on tap and is happy to give you advice as to what to try.

This place is great! Friendly batenders, great drinks, and great food. What more could you ask for? Not to mention they have a super fun trivia night! I 100% recommend this place to anyone who likes a smaller, decently relaxed atmosphere for a bar.

Went to this little neighborhood bar to grab dinner with my daughter. Great list of beers on chalkboard, my wine was nabbed by the bartender from the wine bar upstairs. I was disappointed that the cab sav was served refrigerator cold - better stick to beers or bar drinks. We all ordered different sandwiches that featured their smoked beef brisket. The brisket was lightly smoked and a tad drier than I like, but the flavor was great. The sandwiches were served with kettle chips and two pickle slices (the good kind). There was a free fireball shot on the yelp app that my daughter took advantage of - thanks yelp! They had 4 TVs over the bar showing the USA vs Cuba soccer game that was being played in the city, so we had a great time cheering on team USA. I would be a regular if this bar was in my neighborhood!

Brewer's Cask is a wonderful little neighborhood bar and grill with a very homey vibe to it. Definitely go for half price burger night on Tuesday! Their burgers are just as good as Abbey but less than half the price when on special. I've also gotten the fish tacos and enjoyed them. The beer selection is great and the bartenders are always more than happy to give you a sample of whatever is on tap. The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 is that their happy hour (3 beers for $8) doesn't extend to the weekends and the beer prices are a little steep when it's not happy hour. But overall a really nice, relaxing spot!

Came for Happy Hour and we were able to get 2 beers and 3 apps for under $20. Love me some HH. I totally opted for the girly, fruity beer, cherry and raspberry. It was light and easy to drink but I wouldn't order it again. They had some really interesting beers but they weren't on HH so next time I'll have to try some of those. I was pretty excited about the fried pickles but they came out like fries with mostly breading and a tiny sliver of pickle inside. I would rather have a few big pieces of fried pickles rather than a lot of smaller ones. But it was fried so it still tasted good. The Old Bay chicken wings were delicious! Smother Old Bay on almost anything and I'm sure to love it. The tater tots came out hot and crispy! Came with some mayonnaise sauce but I prefer ketchup. Service was friendly and the place is small but cute.

I love this place. First time here and I was impressed with the food and beer options. The bar is large, cool and comfortable. The service was polite, fast, and fun! A good bartender can gab! And gab we did! I ordered the "Tier de Garde" and it was an excellent Pilsner. I then ordered dinner, choosing the BBQ brisket sandwich with a sautéed spinach side. The sandwich was awesome. It was large! So value is definitely had at this joint! The location is in the heart of Federal Hill. If you can find parking, you're in for a good time. There's a parking a garage a block or two away, so if you lack the appropriate permit you'll be ok for $5-$10 of parking. There's a lot of competition in the area. There must be roughly 250 bars within 3 square miles. But this one is worth visiting because the variety of beer promises there is something for everyone. And the menu offers a variety of appropriate and tasty pairing options. Make this a stop next Ravens or Orioles game day!

We sat at the bar and enjoyed the extensive selection of specialty brews. The bartender was nice and attentive and the place had a real cool vibe that made you feel like the bar from the TV show Cheers. The honey chipotle wings were bland but the crab dip was tasty despite not really having much crab in it. I'd stop in again if I was in the area.

Stumbled, not literally, into this bar on a little bar crawl around Fed, and was not disappointed! Pros: -awesome bar tender -great deals -great crowd -great beer selection Tips: -If you don't mind the occasional text from them with specials, sign up by the door for a BOGO beer. - Check in on YELP for a FREE shot of Fireball. I didn't stumble in....but maybe I stumbled out...

Very impressed with this bar. Came here because it was the only bar in Fed Hill I could bring my dog. And has that friendly traditional bar feel. But the food was amazing for "bar food": the tater tots with sriracha mayo, the wings with old bay + spicy hot, mushroom pizza was like gourmet, & the mule drinks (ginger beer + liquor) were all fantastic. Would definitely come back here.

We had a wonderful evening at Brewer's cask. We had the upstairs all to ourselves, so we could talk with pretty much no noise. Unusual for a bar. The beer selection pleased the 3 beer drinkers in our group and they even made me a margarita with a fair warning that they're a beer place. But it was good anyway. We ordered the curly fries and shrimp boil appetizers, both satisfying. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well. I got a hawaiian type chicken sandwich which had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. My husband also enjoyed his burger. Not sure what our friends got but they seemed happy with their choices. We sat there for quite some time after dinner just chatting and we did not feel rushed at all. Great service and great food. Definitely worth a visit.

Great happy hour prices and good tots and honey chipotle wings. Staff was super friendly, got out yelp free shot of fireball! Only con was there is no AC, have a fan going but still a bit sweaty in there.

Great beer selection. Local and craft brews galore. Chill environment that lends to sitting around for lo.g periods of time drinking varieties of beer. The beer prices are good for happy hour. Otherwise, the prices are high given the pours on low abv beers are 12oz. Oz for Oz these guys are a bit pricey. But if you dont mind paying a bit more it's good to be able to try small glasses of different beers. The smoked wings were tasty too.

Enjoyed my visit here. We had some friends from out of town visiting and we wanted a beer day in Baltimore. This was our first stop so we got a good base of food and beer here. The crab dip is solid. I've had better in Maryland (I prefer the crab dip at Fed House in Annapolis) but none the less it hit the spot. The real favorite of the starters were the pickle back fries. I love fried pickles and doing just the pickle back was an interesting play that I personally enjoyed. The dipping sauce, a bit of a spicy aioli was on point also. I next had the "hangover" it's a burger with fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a siracha aioli. I'm a sucker for a burger with a fried egg. This was very filling and delicious. A bit messy to eat but worth it. I got the fries, but they were average. Go with the BBQ chips for setting different and more individual here. Two of the people I were with tried the pulled chicken. Smoked in house, they both particularly enjoyed them. Note: the pulled chicken sandwiches come with American cheese which isn't advertised on the menu so if you prefer no cheese or a different kind be aware. This is truly a bar. It's loud with tv's and a good amount of people on a Saturday afternoon. If you like a quieter surrounding so you can chat with your friends rather than yell, head upstairs. There are tables and a bar so you won't be missing out. I would come back here either for a lunchtime beer on the weekend or as a stop on a night out.

When I'm looking to grab a beer in Federal Hill (and I want something more creative than a blue moon) I always head to Brewers Cask. Every time I'm there I look over the menu (and around me at what everyone is ordering) and the food looks delicious. I also know that the chef there is from Hot Corner Lee's which was my favorite place in Cross Street Market when it was open. For dinner a friend and I were in the mood to go someplace new and I had been wanting to try Brewers Cask so I suggested it and we headed over. When we were seated, the bartender/waiter was very attentive. We decided to start our meal with Hot Corner Lee's Famous Curly Fries. They are hand cut Idaho potatoes, sea salt and sriracha aioli. The sriracha aioli is delicious and so were these fries. They tasted incredibly fresh, as if the potatoes were peeled after we ordered them. For our meal,my friend ordered the Chipotle Chicken Tacos. They were three tacos in flour tortillas, onions, peppers, pico de gallo, cotija cheese and cilantro. The chicken was very tender and packed with chipotle flavor and on Mondays, Brewers Cask has a $2 taco special. Because the main reason I wanted to try Brewers Cask was for the Cheesesteaks, I obviously had to order one. I went for the Texas Cheesesteak which was delicious. It's thinly sliced brisket, grilled onions, green peppers and provolone cheese on a freshly baked roll. This was delicious. Sometimes with sandwiches, the bread to filling ratio is not proportionate but this was delicious and huge so I had leftovers for another day. My cheesesteak came with a side and because we already had an order of fries, I decided to go with something completely different. I ordered the Sauteed Garlic Spinach. Now I don't normally order veggies at a bar but these were super creamy, wonderful and packed with garlicky flavor. They were great. Everything at Brewers Cask really was delicious and if you're in the mood for a quick bite and some awesome food I'd highly recommend heading over to Federal Hill to check it out.

This review is solely about the wings. Yes the beer list is awesome and constantly refreshed. But the wings...THE WINGS! I've had old bay wings at basically every Baltimore bar I've been to and these are the best. They are smoked and normally fried or grilled. Get them grilled only--you will not be disappointed. That is unless you're weird and don't dream about tasty tasty old bay wings that fall off the bone.

My friend was reticent. We'd already climbed federal hill, and we had to walk to the O's game. He wanted to take the shortest route to Camden, but I had my trusty Yelp app. -- good beer, great food, just a few blocks out of the way -- it told me. I fudged the truth about how many blocks it was to walk. My friend was getting less and less happy. But we arrived. And both of us were pleased. Brewer's Cask is a cute gastro-ish pub, featuring a nice selection of local (and local-ish) micro brews on tap, a chill ambiance, and food that's just a notch above. After we got our free Fireball shots (thanks Yelp!) we went for the appetizers. Smoked-then-grilled wings were some of the best I've ever had-- a deep smoky flavor and nice grilled char, yet the wings still stayed moist and supple (? is that a good adjective for wings?). And they allow you to mix and match sauces to get a good sampling. I followed up with a Bawlmore Burger -- a nice patty topped with crab dip, bacon, cheese, and Old Bay (of course!). The dip was more dippy than crabby, but it had a great tang, and all the flavors melded together perfectly. A delicious burger. Granted, we were visiting at pre-rush hours (5 p.m.ish), but we had an awesome time. The bartenders were extremely friendly and made us feel like we were home. We talked about local beers, the menu, the O's, and what Federal Hill is like as a neighborhood. On our trek to the ballpark, my friend thanked me for my choice. But of course, it was Yelp that guided me. Thank you Brewer's Cask, and thank you Yelp!

Any place that offers a free shot upon check in on your Yelp app is worth trying out... And it turns out BC had pretty darn good food and beer too! We happened to visit BC when the Dead Rise Old Bay beer from Flying Dog was available, so major thumbs up there. Two amazing burgers later, we were stuffed and happy. The burgers are definitely noteworthy; asking for mid rare actually gets you a juicy, mid rare burger (unlike other locales whose idea of mid rare is dry and well done). So glad we stumbled upon this place. I'll be trekking out to Baltimore soon enough to get me some more BC :)

Friday night, what to do?? Dinner at a new place, sure, i will try it out. Head out to the Hills or Fed Hill or Federal Hill or whatever you young kids call it and then decide to stop at a restaurant i had bookmarked. Brewers Cask is the name and they sure do have a lot of beers thats their game, and i am in no way shape or form a beer drinker. Bartender who was taking our orders ask what i wanted to drink, i responded Margarita on the rocks and he shot me there are you kidding me look. I said coke lets keep it simple. The food comes, crab dip-fantastic, wings-excellent, i ordered the philly brisket, picture a steak-um sandwich with brisket it was ok, and a heap of fries. Friends at my table seemed to enjoy their sandwiches. All in all good spot. Will try again.

I'm surprised I haven't heard of this place until now. I found it by browsing around on here, and figured I'd give it a shot since I wanted to try someplace new. I figured since it had good ratings, and seemed to have good beer options, I'd give it a shot. We arrived and the place appeared to be pretty packed since it was their Dogfish Tap Takeover night. However, we got a table upstairs which was fairly empty. Probably one other couple was up there, but it filled up rather quickly. Food - For starters we chose the pickle back fries. These are basically fried pickles, and they were incredible. I actually think these were the best fried pickles I've had. They come as fries instead of chips, and the sriracha aioli was delicious. My fiance got the white flatbread pizza and I think she would order it again. My drunk fish po' boy with a side of spinach was great as well. Beer - It was Dogfish Head tap takeover night, so I can't really speak for every other night, but they had some really great craft beer options on tap. I went with the 120 Minute IPA and Raison D'Extra. However, they also had some amazing stouts and seasonals as well (Brooklyn Black Chocolate, Troeg's Mad Elf). Service - The service was second to none. Probably some of the best service I've had at a restaurant. Other employees other than our waitress were checking up on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Our glasses were always full and the service was always prompt. Overall, this place is all class with a bar atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. Edit: Didn't actually get to use my Yelp deal since it doesn't work on Fridays or Saturdays, but I'll definitely use it on my next trip back.

We randomly stopped in this place on a Saturday for dinner/drinks. The vibe is definitely bar type stuff, but we had a really great time. There was a good selection of beers. The food I had was mixed. For a app I had the fries with cheese and bacon, which were Ok. However, I had the Old bay wings grilled and they were fantastic. I would highly recommend the Old Bay wings. It was also pretty cool that there was solid love music too.

I walk by this place all the time and finally got the chance to stop in. Brewers Cask did not disappoint! It was trivia night so it was packed. Once we ordered our food came very quickly, though. I got the angry chicken sammy and my friend got the pulled pork. Both were very very good! Boardwalk fries as a side were a good addition as well. Extensive beer list that's larger than the food menu! No complaints and I will be back soon!!

Had a fun evening at this place. They were unexpectedly slammed on the Monday night after Christmas, so a little short-staffed. Gino took care of us with style regardless. Great apps -- wings, cheesesteak fries and tacos were all excellent. Nice selection of beers, too. We'll definitely be back.

After walking past the inviting glow of Brewer's Cask almost weekly, I finally went in for dinner and drinks last night. Being that it was a Saturday night, the downstairs tables and bar were full. We made our way upstairs to the Zin Wine Bar to look for a table. It was pretty much empty, minus the left side of the room that was reserved for a 15 person birthday party. You can order anything on the Brewer's Cask beer and food menu upstairs which was a relief! I wouldn't say the Zin Wine Bar had a wine bar feel, it just felt like an extension of downstairs, exactly what we were looking for. I was extremely impressed with their extensive beer list, which was printed out daily and had great descriptions of what was on tap. We started off with a beer each and onion rings to share. The onion rings came with sriracha aioli, which gave the onion rings a unique spicy kick. It was a very busy Saturday night and took a while for us to order our burgers and second round of beers, but trust me when I say it was worth the wait! The bartender/waiter was fantastic, a real salt of the Earth kinda guy, making small talk and teasing me on how I wanted my burger cooked. I ordered the BBQ Baconator Burger served with a side of mac & cheese sprinkled with Old Bay. DELISH! The burger was cooked just how I asked and the combination of sweet and savory was on point. One of the better burgers I've had in Baltimore. All in all, we had a fantastic experience! Great atmosphere and great food and drink. I definitely will be returning in the near future. I think my friends and I will definitely have to try out trivia on Wednesdays!

You must try the Old Bay wings. Smoked and then fried. If you want a sauce get it on the side. Fantastic! Plus free fireball shot with check in (his come every one doesn't do this?)

Alas! I was lured in by great reviews, then had mayonnaise on my pizza. Well, it turned out to be ranch dressing, but about the same thing. The brother in law got more mayo on his sautéed spinach, though it was called "roasted garlic aioli". The fries were okay (served with mayo), and the burgers looked fine. The beer selection was good, but limited to a bunch of IPAs, porters, and fruity offerings. I just returned to Baltimore and was looking for a spot to call home. I'll keep looking.

Atmosphere was awesome, bartender Billy was amazing and made great recommendations. The only reason why we didn't 5 star was that the brisket was super dry and the fish tacos had little flavor. The wings and fries were amazing though.

Service upstairs last Friday night was great. I don't drink so I didn't try anything, but the people I was with seemed to enjoy everything (wine flights and whiskey). The bartender was super nice and friendly, made some recommendations, and was very obliging when we asked to change channels. Place is clean and well lit and much quieter than downstairs. Bathroom is clean, and there is a huge screen for watching games and shows.

This place is small, but it has great food and good music. A great place to sit down, drink and eat before going out in Federal Hill. I had the hot buffalo wings and my boyfriend had the hangover burger. Both were great! The bartender was very helpful and knowledgable about the beers and able to recommend good ones for us. Definitely recommend this place!

This is my first yelp review -- five stars to Brewers Cask because the service was fantastic and the food and drink were delicious! Just what my five friends and I were looking for on a Saturday night. The fish tacos were awesome! Come here for a laid back, friendly pub atmosphere.

A great beer place that's not for your average beer drinker. They actually have good beer on tap with much of it being local or craft beer. The giant BLT and tater tots are a great combo. It never seems that busy here but I avoid the typical busy hours. There have been a number of good beer bars here over the years. Hopefully Brewer's Cask will stick around.

Great draught selection. The menu is American bar style, with a few surprises like yummy mussels. The service can be a little slow if there is only one person working the first floor bar, but it usually isn't too bad. There is an upstairs dining area- but I've only experienced the downstairs bar. I also really like how the display the draught beer choices with weathered wood.

This is a relatively new addition to the Fed Hill area. I went there for the first time last night. It has a really nice atmosphere, and they gave me great service. You can tell a lot of people don't know about it yet, but I am sure the popularity of the place will grow quickly once they see what they have to offer. I stopped by for their Tuesday night special which was half-priced burgers and a movie on their large screen. I am not sure how long they will keep this special, but I think it is a great idea, there just needs a little more advertisement about it. The screen is located on the 2nd floor which seems like their normal dining area. They purchased an on-demand movie on this occasion, which was especially impressive since I was the only one that showed up! I thought the burger and tater tots were well done. The burger had a good texture, and was cooked well, and the tater tots...well, how can you go wrong with tater tots. My only real disappointment is that I just read that they have sweet potato tater tots, that should have been advertised better on the menu, because that is a huge selling point with me. The bar itself is focusing on craft beers, and they have a ton of them. I am sure you can find any beer you want here. I will definitely be back at Brewer's Cask!

Brewer's Cask has a lot going for it, but it does not execute well at all. To start they were out of a lot of menu items. We ended up ordering spinach artichoke dip and chicken tenders with a side of tater tots. The tenders actually came out with fries, which was a disappointment, because everyone knows tater tots are the cool thing these days. We weren't given silverware until we asked for it. The food was pretty gross. The dip didn't contain spinach nor artichoke as far as I could tell. The chicken tenders were greasy and not very flavorful. The menu selection is also pretty terrible with three main sections: Handcarved meat sandwiches (they were out of all of this), appetizers (such as the dip and tenders we ordered) and then "Entrees" that are waaaay overpriced for a bar just starting out. There is a decent selection of beer and luckily we were there for happy hour so it was pretty cheap. I hope the service and food get better.

With only one night in Baltimore, I spent a while searching around yelp for a bar that specializes in craft beers without being too pricey, packed, or pretentious. I picked this place and didn't regret the decision. Service- Steve (the bartender) was really friendly and helpful. He recommended stuff on tap and taught us how to dismantle a crab. Super quick to refill our glasses and check on how we liked the food and beer. Beer- Though I would have liked a few more IPAs on tap, the draught selection was reasonable without being overwhelming. Big fan of the Old Chub on nitro. If you get there before 7 they have a special where you get 3 10oz beers for $7 which also rules. As someone who takes beer seriously, I also really appreciated the section of light beers for $99 (I wouldn't order a bud light here). Food - We had $3 crabs and it was an awesome experience (especially an out of towner). Most of the menu is customizable bar fare with lots of options to dress your tots or make a salad. Definitely pairs well with the beer menu and everything on the menu was pretty cheap. Ambiance- We came on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded. A couple smaller TVs showed the hockey game but it didn't have a sports bar feel. The draughts were prominently displayed on a giant chalkboard on the wall - a reminder that beer was the central focus.

Went here for the first time last night drawn from a tasting contest at Federal Hill and loved their special drink which had marshmellow vodka (sounds gross yes, but good) and other stuff like OJ and was absolutely delicious and I don't even like cocktails. Great selection of beer on tap described on a big chalkboard menu on the wall, warm atmosphere, the nicest bartender ever! We had wings which were excellent (buffallo and bbq) but not sure about the other food, didn't look so appealing to be honest and one of my carrots with the wings tasted weird. Maybe they could ramp up the food a bit or maybe it is just the kind of cozy comfortable place to go for drinks with friends for hours of hanging out. A mixed crowd, some frat boy types at the bar and a huge group of friends (girls and guys) having a great time. fun music. The sweet bartender who checked in often and gave me more club soda for my strong drink made it great:)

Brewer's Cask is a great combination of terrific beer selections, good food, and helpful enthusiastic staff. The Thursday special, sauteed mussels, were really good. The $10 bottle of wine special was a perfect accompaniment. We ordered tater tots to go with them and it was almost like being in a charming neighborhood bar in Paris except I could understand most of what the helpful staff was saying. I'll go back again. The other food coming from the kitchen looked good and the growing crowd on a Thursday night indicates that there is more good food and drinks to be had.

We went for the Tuesday special and it was well worth the trip. Half-price burgers and half-price all drafts til 9. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the burger - nice fat patties dressed with mixed greens (much better than the blah lettuce you get at a bunch of places) on some sort of toasted french roll (different, but nice). The tots were great and the fries were also pretty good (would have liked them a little crisper). Great selection of beers on tap, including several higher ABVs (8-11%) - at $2.50 to $3 for most during this particular HH special, you can't go wrong.

I ordered a medium burger for myself and one for a friend. Mine was so RAW that I didn't eat it. My friend ate hers and had a bad case of food poisoning the day after. If you want to get sick because of lazy owners and underqualified staff, be my guest. This is to a point of hospitalization and lawsuit. Thanks.

Small place, good burgers, good deals on drinks! You should know that the plate of fries is huge. Like really huge. You probably don't want as many fries as they're going to give you. They have a nice selection of craft beers. And non-craft beers. I recommend doing the 3 beers for $8 deal! The bathrooms are surprisingly clean!

Living in Federal Hill aka SoBo leave you wide open for restaurant and bar choices and I have to say that this is my new spot ! I stopped in one night and was very surprised by the attentiveness. I was greeted and served right away with a smile and have since become friends with other BC lovers like myself who frequent. There is always a tasty special and some type of event going on. Whether it's open mic night or trivia its always a fun time! The pickle back fries are amazing as is the loaded fries, The meats on the sandwiches, pizzas etc are fall apart moist, tender and tasty! The owners are always around and very pleasant as is all of the staff!! The beer and wine selection is amazing as well! I can't say enough good things about this awesome spot! Don't believe me? Come check it out, you wont be disappointed.

I checked the trusty 'Yelp App' check-in offers and they were giving out 1 free fireball shot here... So y'all know me... I walked that walk (in the rain). They have "Brewer" on the front door, so of course after my free shot I tasted a few beers before I landed on the "Dirty Little Freak". And...they actually had a 3/$8 beer special. #winning! It turns out it was the grand opening of the upstairs wine bar and there were some young kats upstairs doing an acoustic live music session. Maybe 3 or 4 of them rotating, but all 'very' talented. I met some very good people, Bill the bartender is a very good dude (addressed me by name the whole time I was there) and every plate I saw looked amazing. One of my new friends let me try their 'Cheesesteak Fries'...off the chain! Good weekly Specials too! History: this is the old Muggsy's Mug House

One of my favorite Baltimore bars! Always an awesome draught selection. And the happy hour special of three 10oz beers for $7 is very hard to beat. I organized my husband's 30th birthday in the upstairs dining area with food and cake, all which turned out great. Fantastic customer service and just an all-around wonderful bar.

First of all, I should mention that I am not a beer drinker. I LOVE this place. We went in and went upstairs to try out the wine bar. The bartender Brian (Bryan?) was so knowledgeable and friendly to us immediately. We got a couple of wine flights and tried some food, not expecting too much. SO GOOD. The wings are the best we have had yet in fedhill. Get them grilled! The Maker's Mark BBQ are my favorite so far. Also highly recommend having a flatbread pizza. I've had two so far and both were excellent. The ambience is very nice, not too crowded most of the time, and live music frequent. Both times I have seen acoustic performances. We will be there again. And often!

Looks like an uncreative bar and I was afraid the menu would match. Nope! Was delicious! The food is all freshly made and wonderful. Thin curly fries that were perfect, wings slightly singed but delicious and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing that made the gigantic wedge salad delectable.

I'm not really a beer geek, so I can't comment too much on the beer stuff. A huge opportunity for improvement would be to have more descriptions of the beers or a "If you like XYZ beer, you'll like these beers" kind of chart. I always get overwhelmed when there's just a long list of beers on a draft sheet, but if you're knowledgeable about beers, you'd probably be pretty impressed with the long list. Right now they are running a crab special on Friday nights, which is why we went. $3 for a decent steamed crab on a Friday night is a good deal in my book. I was happy with the crabs and they did all the correct table setting stuff. The fried pickles were also pretty good. The fries we had were seasoned very well, but were a little too soggy for my taste. Service was good but a tad on the slow side. Overall an improvement over the last incarnation (sorry, Muggsy's).

Great happy hour specials! Love the wide selection of beer. Shared a flatbread with a friend and we each had a burger. Service was quick and everything tasted great! Server said almost everything is made in house. Definitely would return again.

The food was good and I appreciated the home made touches (ex. pickles). Friendly atmosphere. There were many beers on tap. Although I liked the fact that the french fries were clearly made from scratch, I didn't think they were very flavorful. I also recommend the owners hire waitstaff, since there was none working when we visited.

Brewer's Cask is awesome. It was recently taken over by a lovely couple who have transformed the place into a really cool spot. The food is fantastic, and they have specials and events going on nightly that are really fun. Mondays are $2 tacos - DEFINITELY try the beer battered cod tacos and the carnitas tacos. They are SO GOOD. Trivia on Wednesdays is also a lot of fun, the guy who hosts it is hilarious and really entertaining. The previous owners didn't focus much on the menu, but the food is now really good. If you haven't been here since fall of 2013, definitely check it out.

Stopped into Brewer's Cask for a beer on a Tuesday evening. The bar was very empty, and the atmosphere was fine. We have the 3 beers for 8 dollars deal and enjoyed it. They have a fairly good selection of beers however I wouldn't really call it well curated which is what I would look for in a place so focused on beer. Overall, pretty standard Federal Hill bar. Would probably only go back for convenience as opposed to making it a destination.

The beer selection is excellent but after partaking in that, things got dicey. We chose this place thanks to Yelp and when we arrived, we loved the vibe. A few TVs, dim lighting, great beer, what could go wrong? The food, that's what. Two of us ordered the "Brewers Burger", which advertised Black Angus beef, lettuce tomato and Mayo, garnished with a fried pickle and cherry tomato. We were asked how we wanted them cooked - I ordered mine medium, and my friend went medium rare. What we got were two well done burgers with a strange chewy consistency that looked oddly stringy upon inspection and tasted awful. The cheese was slapped on top instead of melted. Our other friend ordered a very mediocre bowl of chili for $12 that came with nothing else. Finally, the live music on Saturday night was a guy with a guitar and drum machine who did "comedy" in between every tune and played at a decibel level more suited for Ram's Head than this intimate bar. Avoid the food. 2 stars only for the beer selection.

First time here and will definitely be back...there's a reason this place has so many great reviews. Tried the curly fries, wings, and flatbreads and everything exceeded expectation. I haven't been very impressed by the bar food at most places in Baltimore, and this place exceeded expectations. They have great specials and some form of entertainment every night. The staff was also extremely attentive and friendly, this really is a neighborhood gem!

My girlfriend and I visited Baltimore for the weekend. We didn't bring a car and walked to majority of our destinations. We stumbled upon this bar on Light street. As soon as we walked in we both knew we found a gem! Gino was behind the bar and I truly never met a bar tender so concerned with someone's experience. The beer selection was phenomenal and the atmosphere was fantastic. Reminded me of being home in Philly at a local bar. I will make sure to revisit this place if and when I return.

I almost did not want to like Brewers Cask. The place exuded a bit too much of a former-frat-boys hangout. Maybe that was baseless (though maybe not), but it was the vibe I got. After eating there twice, though, I cannot help but give this place top marks. I stopped by on a Thursday for happy hour. The mussels were only nine bucks as a special and were very good. The beer special during happy hour is really worthwhile, as well. Twenty taps and, if I remember correctly, all are craft brews. You can get any three 10-ouncers for six bucks. I walked out genuinely happy. As an aside, let me state that I recently went back to Bertha's Mussels in Fells Point and it was Bertha's of the ubiquitous bumper sticker that came out on the poorer side of the comparison. Their mussels were $13 (if they have a happy hour special with reduced prices, they do not advertise it very well), had only about a dozen taps, of which several were occupied by the boring old standards that you can get at many local watering holes. Brewers Cask came out ahead all around. I stopped back in Brewers Cask a few days later to sample their regular menu and was very pleased with the pulled pork sandwich. Big, well-prepared and delicious. And they had switched a few beers, though, again, to different crafts. No complaints here, folks.

friends and I stumbled into this place and were pleasantly surprised. service was pretty good. Got the southwest burger, it was delcious. great quality meat and the siracha sauce was spectacular. Bill the bartender was great! very attentive service especially considering he apprantly usually works on Tuesdays! on my list for top 5 burgers in town.

Best, off the beaten path, bar in Fed Hill. The craft-draft beer selection is bar-none and the service can't be beat. Ask for Jeremy or Brian. They are both awesome. And the owners are super cool people who love to hang out and share their place with you. Definitely NOT the Cross Street college crowd. Oh and the food's good too! Get the fries with sriracha mayo or the tater tots. Their burger and BBQ pork sandwich are top-notch also.

This place surprised me. The southwest burger was absolutely amazing and the fried pickles were decent. They have a nice beer selection too.

Great draft selection that rotates regularly. Tater tots were ok but they had really good fish tacos. Great place to go if you want to get away from the craziness and crowds of cross street.

Small place, good burgers, good deals on drinks! You should know that the plate of fries is huge. Like really huge. You probably don't want as many fries as they're going to give you. Burgers are great. Service has a nice small town feel. 1/2 price Tuesday burgers. Steal!

Can't beet the happy hour special: three ten-ounce craft beers for $8. The Philly cheese steak was a little disappointing, but everything else was fantastic.

This is my first yelp review -- five stars to Brewers Cask because the service was fantastic and the food and drink were delicious! Just what my five friends and I were looking for on a Saturday night. The fish tacos were awesome! Come here for a laid back, friendly pub atmosphere.

Def. great beer and the 3 for $7 can't beat it. We didn't have any food but were def tempted to. Bartender was quite humorous also. Small and the place to be. :)

Great draft selection that rotates regularly. Tater tots were ok but they had really good fish tacos. Great place to go if you want to get away from the craziness and crowds of cross street.

  • Tyler S.

Can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu, but you have to order the sweet potato tater tots.

Thanks.
