Would love to give a review of the food, but we couldn't even get waited on. A moderately busy Wednesday night, and only 2 servers on to cover tables, bar, and busing. Sat at the bar for 10 minutes without being helped, so we left. I know it's a new business, but adequate waitstaff is a must!

I had the spicy shrimp PO boy. It was spicy! My mouth is still burning in a good way!. Service at the crowded bar was excellent. We will be back!

Food was much better than average Arbutus. A solid 4+ stars (almost 5, once the work out the kinks). Service was friendly & quick. Great beer selection for a smaller place. Prices are quite reasonable. Try the crab & corn fritters for a good snack/appetizer. Southern fried chicken was moist & delicious without being greasy. Chicken pot pie was a huge bowl of chicken & veggies in a thick-broth/thin gravy topped with flakey crust. Fresh salads. Other people's steak sandwiches, meatloaf platters & seafood platters all looked good. We will be back to try them.

I went the first week they opened, two weeks later and again last night. I thought the food would be get better over time, But it was actually worst. The gumbo was all rice. I even asked for little rice. I will not go back. Too bad. It is close to home.

The food is decent. However, we had a poor experience with one of the bar tenders. She was an older Caucasian woman. She had a nasty disposition and appeared irritated with our presence. We came in to pick up a call in order. We haven't had this experience previously, then again she was never our server. Customer service plays a large role within an establishment. Her customer service was rude, rushed, and uninviting to say the least. We will not be returning.

Service was excellent. Ordered a Caesar salad with Rockfish. $16.99 a tad bit over priced but a healthy portion. Sit outside if possible great view of what's going on in Arbutus.

No mustard, no management ! Just left, after $56.00. Terrible service; terrible food. No mustard: I ordered a crab cake) That had NO mustard!!! I had to take it home to eat it. Server was clueless. After the fiasco I asked for a manager and there was no manager on premises. Horribly run, horrible food, run as fast as you can from this restaurant

Creative menu, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff! Excited to see a new restaurant in the area. Looks like they are still figuring out things because dinner took a long time. Had the jambalaya and it was good but felt it was over priced since it contained no seafood and the rice was abundant. Excited to try some of the sides and the po boy!

I've been here a few times for a small meal and a beer. The first time I came here I ordered deviled eggs. They were very bland and disappointing which was unfortunate because I usually love deviled eggs. Regardless, I gave the place another chance and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the sweet potatoe and mac n cheese. Both were amazing! I've read other reviews for this place and have to admit, I have seen people wait far too long to be served or even noticed by the bartender. I wouldn't know about the wait staff personally as I usually sit at the bar. Also, they don't have a great beer selection which seems to be the norm for the area. I love when bartenders say, " We've got everything, Miller Light, Budweiser, Bud light..." So funny! Admittedly, my Husband and I are veteran beer snobs, which is why I usually order the Dog Head 60 on draft when I have lunch here. It is actually a pretty dang good beer, just wish they had more selection so I wouldn't have to order the same thing everytime!

UPDATE: Well, we have visited this restaurant twice since our first visit. The second visit, we had the exact same thing: prime rib w/sides. The prime rib was extremely fatty throughout. The service was spotty. So, we gave it one more chance today. We both got NY Strips at $23.99 a pop. Both were so fatty that there was grizzle in every bite. I sent mine back. He kept his because he was hungry... he doesn't usually complain but says this is the worst steak he's ever had at a restaurant. The server asked if I wanted anything else. I told her I'd just keep the asparagus and eat that. She said she'd remove the cost from our bill. They removed the steak but charged me for the asparagus. Spotty service once again. A lot of dilly dallying with apologies each time but no improvement in service. Not going back for dinner. Maybe just cocktails and Keno, if it lasts that long.

Waaay overpriced for a one time hole in the wall blue collar hang out. Ships cafe owners need to realize that people are not going to continue to shell out $26 for a few shrimp or $13 for small bland wraps I can eat better for less at Subway

First off it was packed when we arrived decided if the wait was long well just order Togo. The hosted told us 20 mins so we said we would wait they called us to our table in about 10 mins we get seated by the bar and we waited and waited for someone even to acknowledge even the fact we were there finally after about 20mins the waitress comes takes our order then we wait another 15mins just for our drinks and another 45mins for our food to come out!!!! When it finally came out my food was nice and hot I got the fried poor chops but my wife got a burger and it was ice cold dry just nasty she said!!! I got them to take off the burger no manager came to apologize! And I think staff was short! Would try again when not so packed!

Our waitress was nice. However, the service was terrible. After appetizers (which I have to say the Blue Pointe raw oysters were excellent), we sat without beverages for a long while. Even after my empty glass was taken away, I was never offered another one. Our food was brought out, still no drink offer. Mind you I had NOTHING to drink, not even a water. I had to ask. My husbands food had good flavor, however was over cooked (he got the Prime Rib). My sandwich, which I asked for on Texas Toast, was merely brought to me on thick white bread. The fries were inedible, as was the asparagus (which is unfortunate because its our favorite vegetable). I sit at home digging through my cabinets finding something else to eat to satiate myself because I am still starving. There are many better places with better food in the area. We will not be returning.

We came here for the first time today for breakfast and loved it! The shrimp and crab omelette was huge and such a good price. The atmosphere is great and we definitely plan on coming back for dinner and drinks in the future. So glad a restaurant like this finally opened in Arbutus.
