Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. Awful food! Not sure how they got 4 stars, unless it is rigged. Definitely clean and might be great for bar bites and beer, but NOT a dinner location. We were on a day trip in Annapolis and this place came up with 4 star ratings. We had the Greek shrimp, mistake! Caesar salad with the most unseasoned piece of salmon I've ever had! I gave one star because the wait staff was nice. However it was a big waste of $. It came up under a seafood search, YELP please change that ASAP.

Newly updated menu has many new favs! Boom Boom shrimp is almost required every visit! Perfectly crispy and spicy and lots of it. The Reuben Eggrolls are a great and original treat, too.

Needed dinner late night, wanted something besides pizza or bar food. Found this place still serving.. Chilled atmosphere, shrimp in grits was excellent!

Sat in bar area and had plenty of TVs to watch sports. 4-5 beers on draft, so liked that. Boursin Quesadillas were flavorful. Steak & cheese sliders & boardwalk fries were good combination. Meatloaf sliders were heavily coated in a bland cheese sauce, not good. Wait staff was very nice & they actually thanked us for our business. Menu was overly expansive & I wonder how much better the food would be if they cut the menu in half. Would return. It was a relatively quiet place & good end to a long day & weekend.

Met some friends there from out of town. Nice place, service is good. I had the Angus Burger with Fries and a few Corona's. Seating is more than adequate, it is in a good location and laid out nice. Food was outstanding. Not a complaint. Highly recommended.

My friend Jeremy is getting married and a group of us spent some time here getting food for part of his bachelor party. I didn't even know this place existed because Griffin's used to be at this location. Needless to say I was thoroughly surprised at how well put together this restaurant/sports bar is. We were able to reserve their banquet room with a huge 60" plasma TV for the Redskins vs. Seahawks football game. It was great. The room was large enough for our party and had some leftover room to mill about and visit friends on the other side of the large tables. As I was walking about the restaurant before our party was set to begin, I noticed they have a lot of plasma TVs situated around the dining area/bar so you won't miss any of the sporting events. Everything about the decor was nicely done. It screamed quality and didn't look like someone rushed the work. The bathrooms are situated nicely between the banquet room, dining area and the bar so you don't look stupid when you're trying to figure out where they are. The atmosphere was great! During the game, you could hear all of the people in the restaurant/bar getting into the game. Our service was fantastic. The hostesses greeted us politely when we walked in and gave us directions to where we were having the party. Even though we had a large party, our waitress remembered everything we asked her for and she brought it out in a timely manner. I was impressed. She didn't even get that confused when switched seats on her and she was continually bringing out our food and drinks. When we asked for split checks at the end of the night, she jumped on the ball and totally took care of our needs. Usually there's something that would knock a restaurant down a star for me and all that's left is the food. Well, the food was up to the challenge and ding!, we have a five-star review. I had the jumbo lump crab cake sandwich. I scarfed it down in about two seconds. It was large, I was hungry, what can I say? The only slight problem is that it seems like they short you out on seasoned fries. I'll overlook this because the rest of the place is awesome. I don't want to end this review on a down note so I'll recap: Great space. Many TVs. Awesome service. Awesome management. Great food.

I like this place because it's a nice restaurant if you just wanna chill at a low key spot, have a good beer, and a GOOD burger. I've sampled a few places around here for good burgers, not cause I like eating burgers all the time, but when I do, I WANT A GOOD BURGER...! This place has won hands down over some of the places that were listed as "Annapolis Best Burger"..uhh, ok, maybe... And their seasoned fries rock. I've been there for lunch and for dinner, good all around. The ONLY negative thing I'd say about this place is if you have an allergy, I wouldn't count on the information given by the staff. I informed them of my soy allergy, and got excited when I found a new place I could order salads from, as most salad dressings have soy oil as the ingredients. Well, being my allergy is only severe if I go to the gym after eating an allergen, LUCKILY, I did not go to the gym that day. I later broke out in hives....so obviously, there WAS soy in the dressings. Thank God I did not go to the gym, as their mistake would have sent me to the hospital. . . But I will go back for the beers and burgers!!

Fun sports bar, good restaurant too. The carnitas are excellent!

The West End Grill met my expectations for a place to get a burger and a beer. I had a dinner salad and my companion a wrap, both were tasty, but nothing special. We were the lone diners in the restaurant (8:00 on a weeknight) along with a few bar patrons. The service was fast and friendly, but not at all professional; long wait at the hostess stand, server hollering orders to the bartender, server eating dinner at a table nearby. Food is palatable for the price, atmosphere and decor are lacking. It almost feels like there's an old "film" on everything. Bottom line - don't expect to impress anyone by taking them here.
(3)Scott M.
Definitely a bar more than a restaurant. I had the French dip, which was pretty good, but not great. I also had the "Annapolis Rose" soup - a mix of Maryland crab soup and cream of crab soup - very good stuff, but not enough crab meat for the $4.75 price tag for a very small cup of soup. I sat at the bar and service was mediocre at best. They did have some good beer on draft, though.

A bit hard to get to but well worth the effort. We chose this restaurant for lunch based on the previous reviews here. Living right up the road and passing it no less than a thousand times we didn't even know it was here until finding the restaurant on yelp. My husband was impressed with the seared tuna app and the thai mishu salad was tasty. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be coming back
(4)Michael R.
This place was nothing special and the service we had was poor at best. We came during lunch on a Friday and it was empty. I believe we were one of two groups there. In spite of that, it took about 15 minutes just to get the waitress to take our drink order. She was basically absent for the majority of our time there. To be fair, she was friendly and helped when we asked, but getting help was difficult because as I said, she disappeared. I assume this restaurant has chefs and she wasn't stuck preparing our meals as well. The food was good, but not worth the expensive price. Their website would have you believe (as would their menu and the prices next to the items) that this place is classy. It's closer to a bar with lots of booths. I'm fine with that dining experience, but not if I'm going to pay $20 just for my meal. There are much better places to go in Annapolis.
(2)MArk R.
Great food. The cream of crab soup was fantastic. Fair pricing
(4)Chad G.
Great place with good food. Wife got the turkey burger and I got the chicken club. Both were delicious. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Traffic into and out of was a real pain in the ass. We will go back if the opportunity presents itself.

I have been to West End Grill many times prior to today. Each time centered around grabbing a glass of wine with friends or a catching a sports game on tv. The bar crowd has always been great, as West End is a favorite among local Annapolitans (especially those who work in the hospitality industry). Today was a whole different experience! I have heard through the grapevine that the Executive Chef accommodates gluten allergies, which made my ears perk up. Living with celiacs sometimes means eating the same "safe" foods when I dine out...salad with grilled chicken, rice, sashimi, etc. I can attest that my lunch was not only gluten free, but was delectable! I double checked that the ingredients were gluten-free with our server. A few moments later she returned and gave me the green light, explaining that the chef would make some minor adjustments. Boy did he! When my salad came out, it was presented beautifully. The Thai Mishu Salad, was crowned with a crunchy, rice-based cracker and a generous portion of pan seared rockfish. The salad was tossed with sprouts, basil and cilantro in a chili lime dressing. Two thumbs up! My friend ordered the Little River Chicken Salad. Long story short, there was not a morsel left on the plate. I think he liked it :) As a foodie and someone who sometimes seeks out more eclectic dining spots..I have to give kudos to Daniel, the Executive Chef and staff at West End Grill. I was really surprised at the quality of the food and attention to detail. The Chef came out personally to see if we liked our dishes, and even went as far as preparing a polenta cake (yep, gluten free) for me to sample. That's the kind of service I am talking about people! I will be back very soon, as I am eager to try more menu offerings. When I walked in today, I sort of expected dressed up "pub food", but when I left I felt like a hip new restaurant just opened in Annapolis.

I usually don't review places before I try their food, but I had a pretty miserable experience here in about 10 minutes. First, when you walk in the crowd there is very douchebaggy. Everyone looked like a douchebag. A bunch of 21 year olds with goatees and those cotton American Eagle hats. Second, they are blaring douchey alt rock music. Third, when we first walk in four of the douchebags are standing around the host/hostess podium. I was thinking it was odd for a place to have four douchebag hosts. They looked like some weird semi-identical quadruplets. Like there could have been a reality show about them. It turns out they did not work there, they just like to hang out around the host/hostess podium. Fourth, we look around for some type of seat yourself sign or wait to be seated sign and see nothing. We look around a little further for a host or hostess and there doesn't appear to be one or any waitstaff. So after about a two minutes of standing next to the douches by the podium, we decide to seat ourselves. Fifth, we sit down at a table not far from the podium, thinking that if a host/hostess showed up and peeked around the pile of douchebags he or she might see us. We wait for a few more minutes and no one comes to us. We look around and don't see any potential employees other than somebody behind the bar. Sixth, I decide to go to the bar and let them know we exist. Maybe they don't have waitresses and we order at the counter like McDonald's? But my SO wants to give up and go some place else. Seventh, we leave and still do not see any employees walking around. I don't ever remember walking out of place like this before. I am generally patient, but the douchey atmosphere was telling me to go. Maybe some day I will go back and have some food and then change my rating to 2 or 3, but I doubt it.

Their chicken chesapeake is the BEST!

This is one of our go-to places. My husband would probably give it five stars, but I don't always like it as much as him. For sports fans, it is a great bar. They do have very good bar food! They also have a dessert in the fall "Pumpkin Goo Cake" that I love.
(4)Korin S.
Just tried West End Grill for the first time. I drive by it weekly, but never noticed it until today. Great little restaurant. Nice atmosphere for a restaurant/sports bar. There is a quiet section, but near the bar there are several TVs with sports on. I tried the Maryland crab soup and a double house salad with salmon. The upcharge to add salmon to any salad is only $5 and they give you a generous sized and well-cooked portion. It was delicious, though a bit salty due to the kalamata olives. The soup was extremely salty and I probably wouldn't order it again, or if I did, I'd pair it with something a bit more bland. My husband ordered the Simple Salmon with risotto and grilled asparagus. He loved it. The service was EXCELLENT! Our waitress was very attentive, had good recommendations, and even though we were using a coupon, treated us extremely well. We will definitely return to try the crab cakes and the half-off appetizers during happy hour. It was a great find!
(4)Bernice R.
Very tasty food. We had the buffalo and teriyaki garlic wings with their house made blue cheese dressing as a starter and they were good, especially their teriyaki garlic sauce. I had their Ridiculous Dog - a huge deep-fried dog covered with beef chilli and cole slaw while my husband tried their "world's greatest burger". I enjoyed my hot dog tremendously! My husband said their burger was just OK. It came out overcooked and not as juicy as it looked. Great place to watch all kinds of sports since there were Tv's all over and the bar area was very popular. I wished they didn't play the country music though! All in all, it was a great first experience. We will return to try more of their dishes!!

We went there for Valentine's Day. I know, bad choice. That's what happens to us slackers that don't start calling places 'til 2 days ahead of time. Better luck next year. I went knowing that this isn't going to be a "romantic" dinner, but still. This review is for the "restaurant" part, not bar. The bar looked like it could get lively for games or later at night, but we were there for dinner, or that's what I thought. The bar was so up in our space, too much for me. There didn't really seem to be any area in the restaurant that wasn't all up in the bar area. I could hear the games on TV & people yelling, etc. I get that this is a sports bar restaurant, but it would have been nice to have a little more separation. At times I had to re-ask what my bf was saying b/c of others yelling. It wasn't like that the whole time, but enough. Our server was really nice, but we didn't see her too much. Granted, we didn't need her, but if we did, we would have been s*** out of luck. Bonus--- all wine & champagne (yeah, I'm not gonna get champagne there) was 1/2 off. We started w/a crab dip app. Sounded good, the server said it was good. Not good. It was like a super-thick mayo infused pink dip. I felt like I was spooning mayo in my mouth. Gross. For dinner my bf ordered a burger- which he liked enough (fries were yummy). Normally not his choice, but he couldn't find much else that looked good (not to say there selection is that bad). I got the seared tuna dinner. Honestly, this was a VERY similar dinner to the seared tuna & 4 Seasons (in Gambrills/Crofton) which I love, but West End missed the mark. The tuna was good, not great. The side of mashed potatoes infused w/wasabi- vomit (literally, my bf got sick the next day and he said they tore up his throat on the way back up- b/c of the spice, sorry for the mental image you now have). WAY spicy and just a bad combo- it's like they were trying too hard. The side of veggie slivers, left on my plate. Overall- I think this place might be fine for lunch or drinks or something. But, for a normal dinner (v-day excluded) it just didn't work, for us that is. The atmosphere killed it before the food did (neither of which is that bad, but with too many other choices in the area, chains included, this deserves a 3 star rating).
(3)Stacy R.
Great riesling wine and crab soup!
(4)A M.
We had the crab nachos (much better with extra crab dip), husband had the shrimp & grits (too salty), and I had the French dip (pretty good). For dessert I had the Cookie Monster (good with mint chip ice cream) and husband had the Oreos (not that great). Probably would not return.

I've been to West End many times. It is one of my favorite spots because of a great drinks options, happy hour and excellent service. I have never though, been there for any sort of event. Today we went there after my wife's Grandmother's funeral. They had a private room off to the side dedicated to use with enough service to sufficiently meet our needs. Well, to not make this too long winded, they absolutely blew our minds. The food was fabulous!!!! We had crab dip with toasted baguettes, mini crab cakes(I guess crab balls), meatballs in marina and chicken satay. From top to bottom they were all amazing, absolutely blowing all of the party goer's minds. I would highly recommend having business meetings, family get togethers and parties to anyone in the future. Absolutely amazing experience. Thank you for making our event so special!!

Went here based on other Yelps. What a great find! The bar has great big screen TVs and a lively crowd. The dining rooms are great. Very comfortable. The menu is lots of fun -- crispy pork carnitas, flat iron steaks, specialty salads, grilled chicken sandwich with avacado and bacon... and much more. And you MUST try the cream of crab soup with a side of sherry.
(5)Jessica S.
WOW! This place has changed so much from when it was Griffin's. GREAT atmosphere for family, friends, sports events, anything. And the food is amazing! I had the crab corn muffins and the ahi tuna sandwich. Both were fabulous, my only problem is that I wasn't hungry enough to try everything. ;-) The staff is friendly and attentive. Go try it, and tell me you don't love it! :-)

This is a first for me: I don't think the decor of a restaurant has ever negatively affected my experience to the point where I lowered my Yelp rating, but here we are. One star for the service: Megan, our waitress was great, and very helpful, both in making sure we were well taken care of and giving good recommendations from the menu. One and a half stars for the food: The Annapolis Rose soup is totally worth getting, and I feel like the kitchen does a good job with a wide range of pub food, though the Parmesan on my salad looked suspiciously like Kraft grated cheese instead of actual grated cheese. So where's the problem? The red and black decor with grey tile made me feel like I was eating in an auto parts store, and the hazard tape on the stair risers to make sure visitors don't trip wasn't helping. If you are going to charge $10-15 for a sandwich, the experience is part of the meal, and the front of the house at West End doesn't match what the kitchen is putting out.
(3)Ashleigh R.
First time coming here. The food was ok. Good place for drinks and wings. I would have given them a better rating but our server SUCKED!!! She did not check on her tables. We waited 15 mins for a BOX!! She was nice but the service just did not add up!!! Everyone around is was complaining. I will come back, we will just make sure we get another server.

It's rare I seek out Yelp to review a business unless they've really upset me, but I just had to rave about this place, their service, and their food (at the suggestion of my honey, even... which he doesn't do!) In the past we've only stopped in here for drinks, but I'm so glad we decided to try out their food. Our server, I believe maybe her name was Sandra (but that's likely wrong, it has been a few days) was absolutely awesome. The sweetest, most accommodating, and genuine gal.... We just adored her! For appetizer, we ordered the crab dip, and I can't begin to tell you how yummy it was. Extra crab in the dip, delicious bread... best dip I've had in a very long time, hands down! He also ordered the Annapolis Rose soup, which I did not think I would like it, but I couldn't believe how good it also was! For entrée, I ordered the Salmon Simple (our server's hubby's favorite) with parm risotto and grilled asparagus. While the asparagus was nothing to write home (or yelp about) the rest, O-M-G, was soo amazing. Seriously, so, so good and cooked to perfection. My beau ordered the Turkey Reuben and enjoyed it, and even his French fries were delish. Some gals also came by giving out free shot samples (strawberry blondes, that I do remember) which was a nice bonus. Just awesome... can't wait to visit again!
(5)Valerie B.
This was just okay - everyone agreed that the burgers, apps, salads and soups that we ordered were fine but not special. The service as great, on the other hand. With all of the great places to eat around Annapolis, I don't know if I would go back to this one...just not memorable.
(3)Sara R.
Just stopped by here on a whim with a friend of mine for happy hour. The wings were amazing! Get the spicy bourbon sauce, and if you're in the mood for something later... The tuna is perfect.
(5)Kristen R.
My bruschetta chicken was very good... And they had tater tots which is always a bonus in my book. The service was a little lacking but it was a 5pm on a Sunday so I'll let it slide. Overall, decent food and prices and I would come back.
(4)Barb B.
Good food! GREAT SERVICE! Affordable and speedy, with free parking lot parking Went here while in Annapolis last weekend. The food was yummy and not overprice. Our server, Mia was a delight!!! And everything came out fast, maybe too fast. Would definitely recommend!
(4)Joni T.
Our lunch was really tasty. However, the peach cobbler was terrible. Some slices of peach were hard and uncooked and it was very soupy. We sent it back.
(4)Joy R.
Atmosphere: Think "relatively clean bar, with attached restaurant". My husband and I were in town for 1 night, and we wanted "casual with good crab dip / crabcakes"... And I found this place using trusty Yelp. Location: Although it is located at the crossroads of two large thoroughfares, the entrance to the parking lot is a bit tricky. Best way to approach is to be going east on 450, and turn right into the slightly shabby-looking shopping center. (Only "shabby" in comparison to the spankin' new town center action that is directly behind it!) Crab dip appetizer: definitely "crabby" (a good thing), and comes in a hefty portion, served with two fresh-out-of-the-oven small baguettes. My husband and I could only eat less than half, and it left me pissed that we were staying in a hotel, and getting on a cruise the next day... 'Cause otherwise I would have totally taken it home! Crabcake: VERY "crabby", essentially no filler, excellent and tasty! I had it as an add-on to the bruschetta salad, which itself was HUGE (albeit because of lots of lettuce, but had the appropriate amount of "good stuff" too, to make a good "good stuff to lettuce" ratio). Service: friendly & fast. We were seated in the bar area, likely because they didn't have enough staff to cover the restaurant portion as well (it was sorta roped off / closed-looking... It was a random Thursday night). Summary: - crab dip = 5 stars - crab cake = 5 stars - overall experience = 4.5 stars, though I can't put my finger on why I feel it needs a 0.5 star deduction So stop reading this... Just go, and order some crabby stuff!

My boyfriend and I were passing through Annapolis this past weekend and decided to stop in for a late dinner and to catch the NBA playoffs before getting back on the road. The place was a little hard to find in the dark (needs a lit up sign) but once we found it and went inside, it had a nice upgraded Applebee's feel to it (a good thing for me). Lots of seating at bar and booths with tvs all around. We were seated immediately and our server informed us his shift was up and the bartender would be taking care of us. I was a little dismayed, as I thought we might not get the optimal service, but the bartender (sorry I forget your name, Pete of Jesse maybe) way a DARLING. He was very attentive and honest and put in our appetizer order of tots in immediately. My boyfriend was in a rush to get food because he was starving so he ordered the worl'd best burger and so I inquired about the shrimp and grits in my haste. My server was honest and said that he had never had it and couldn't give me a personal recommendation but said it was ordered 4-5 times a day... In retrospect, with how busy the place is, that should have been a hint that they DON'T specialize in seafood dishes, but burgers. I ordered it anyways. The tots were amaaaazing. The world's best burger was also amaaazing. My shrimp and grits were so awful that I immediately informed my boyfriend that I physically couldn't eat it. Grits were dry and the cheddar sauce tasted like onion juice was diluted with it. The shrimp looked good though. He took the plate back to the bar and immediately after coming back, my server came over apologizing profusely and handed me the menu to order something else. I erred on the safe side and ordered a chicken avocado sandwich which was DIVINE. The fact that the server was so sweet and accommodating with us, boosted it up to a five star. If in the area again, I would definitely make a pit stop.
(5)Ahsaki A.
Four stars seems a little high but three stars definitely seems too low. I'll start with the bad: this place is gross. I guess they rely on it being night and dark so you don't notice how gross the actual interior is. The booths are very visibly filthy, the place is in serious need of a cleaning and remodeling. I actually didn't want to touch anything. And don't get me started on the disgusting bathroom. All so so nasty and took away from my experience. The good: food was really good and the service was really good. I had French onion soup and a chicken burger and it was all great. My BF had an Angus burger and nachos which was also great. Also, my server was very nice, patient and attentive but not annoying. Give it a try but have a few drinks first so you don't notice the filth.

This is our regular Sunday night drinking spot. Bartenders are always friendly. Recently I held my best friend's baby shower in their banquet room. It was intimate, cozy and turned out awesome! They really worked with us to provided exactly what we needed. Allowed us in to decorate an hour before hand. I am overly happy with the way we were treated.

Solid crab soup. Plump well cooked crabcake. Honest, hon, what the hell else do you want? O yeah, draft flying dog and os on the telly.
(4)Carrie B.
I went with two friends for some crab, as we were in Annapolis, MD. What else would you want? We got a table right away on a Saturday night at 7pm - no problem. It was clean and everyone was friendly. We were asked if we wanted a table near a specific TV when we came in, which isn't why we were there, but seemed very accommodating if that is why you were at the grill. Me and my two friends split the crab nachos, which were served on house-made potato chips- very rich, and great to share. I can't imagine eating them all myself. My friend ordered the crap soup, which I tried and enjoyed. Salty, but good! I had the steak salad, A little heavy on the dressing, but overall a great take on steak, greens, artichokes and peppers. I didn't really notice the Parmesan cheese. My friend had crab cakes and they were the highlight. No filling- straight crab. Perfect. Unfortunately we were very full and couldn't enjoy the heck out of them as we wanted to. My other friend was satisfied with her fish and chips- the highlight of her meal was the coleslaw- excellent flavor, very light on the cream, keeping the focus on the vegetables. Would recommend!

We dropped by after the Ren Fest guided by the positive yelp reviews and were not disappointed. The diner side is a bit depressing looking, IMO, but the bar area is well equipped with TVs and painted a soothing grey and white. Being there for quite some time, we tried a good variety of food. Thanks to being a 4 top, there were 4 types of wings tried: -The Otis are no joke spicy but don't have much of a buffalo flavor. Get some milk to wash it down -Thai wings are more sweet than spicy, too sweet IMO but husband loved them -Buffalo wings have a good kick and I think husband would have ordered these over Otis had we known -Old Bay wings were good - we had them grilled which is a great option The cream of crab soup had a pleasing amount of crab in it, especially given the horrendous soup I've had at Phillips down by the water. I ordered the Thai salad which was a large enough portion to fill me and get picked at by the rest of the table. The flavor combination of the vegetables is great, but I would have preferred a plain grilled chicken to the chicken in the same thai sauce as the wings which ended up competing with the salad dressing. The 'MD fries' which are potato chips with crab dip were an extremely satisfying and filling bar snack as well. The bar tenders did a great job of serving us even though we were seated at a bar table and very friendly!

Found this place using our trusty Yelp app while traveling. Looking for a place where we could find a decent bite to eat and watch the rest of the ballgame we wanted to see. Plus, this place was fairly close to our hotel. West End Grill offered up an extensive menu that had interesting and inventive bar grub and really nice looking entrees. On this trip, DH and I wanted to graze on local fare and watch our favorite college team kick some football butt. To start, I ordered the Cream of Crab and DH ordered the Maryland Crab soup. Both were delicious. It is obvious they are using fresh/real crab. Instead of a meal, we decided to stick with apps. DH ordered an assortment of wings and I got the speciality nachos, made with home made chips and a creamy corn and crab dip. It was very good, but very rich. It would have been better to share it as I am still stuffed hours after eating it. Sandra, our server, was friendly, helpful and accommodating. You may be tempted to drive by this place being in a strip mall. But it is worth a stop if in the neighborhood.

Excellent pub grub with a very hometown feel. Service is always spot on! My recommendations: Chimi (churri) wings, Maryland nachos, seared tuna appetizer, French onion soup, shrimp and grits entree, and all of their sandwiches. I especially LOVE the super messy Eastender - beef slathered in delicious curry gravy. Yes, beef and gravy my good friends, Beef And Gravy. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the Hawaiian pork entree. It was wayyy too sweet to enjoy. I mean, who likes sweet meat? Lol...ok, maybe some people do. This place is definitely worth coming back to over and over again. Look out for its nondescript location in a corner strip mall. It's easy to miss...but it's also worth making a U-turn for!

Came here last night with my husband because we were visiting the area and looking for a casual restaurant where he could get a somewhat decent burger. The food was phenomenal! We started off with crab dip and crab soup. The Maryland crab soup is comparable to others in the the area. The crab dip was the best around! Jumbo lumps were plentiful and absolutely no shells. I also got an entree salad, and my husband got a burger. Both were great! All the menu items sounded delicious, we will definitely be coming back when in the area. Our waitress was also very tentative and kind. She came back to check on us multiple times and never let out glasses go dry. The ambiance is average to other bars, it was pretty quiet when we went.

There are so many options on the menu and the daily specials are truly delicious! We keep going back to the restaurant and explore more things we like. Their chicken wings are yummy so don't miss it!

In Annapolis area on business and found West End Grill on yelp. Decent reviews so I decided to check it out. Bar scene is really the only ambiance, as dining area was slow/quiet. Lots of TV's. Service was friendly, but slow. Took a while to order between course and waited for drinks. That said; again, staff was friendly. Extensive menu, with specials that were less than desired. Grilled cheese or philly steak with salmon, shrimp and grits on the menu too? Seems like there's a little identity crisis going on with trying to be everything to everyone. Had a nice wings list, though I didn't order any. Had the crab dip which was good and the Cobb Salad, which was a nice size entree salad. All in all, a solid 3 star.

Ordered, what they call, the world's best burger. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium well. It was still a little juicy, but far from the world's greatest burger. The bread was very good, but they don't toast the inside. The whole science behind toasting the inside of the bun isn't necessarily because people like toasted bread, it's to keep the bread from getting soggy resulting in a soggy, nasty burger. The meat itself had little flavor, and was not seasoned well at all. Overall, not a terrible burger, but FAR from the world's greatest burger. It's better than Five Guys and other similar burger joints. But, when you're claiming the world's best burger, they need to step it up!

Horrible food. The waitress was really nice, but I couldn't even eat my burger. My husband couldn't eat his soup either. Bleh.

After coming here three times, I'm kind of over this place. The service is great but the food is just mediocre. The first time we ate here, several months ago, I was overwhelmed by the menu and had trouble deciding what to get. I settled with the little river chicken salad and it was pretty good. My husband got the bruschetta fish and I remember that being a pretty solid dish. We also tried the chimichurri wings, which he liked but I wasn't blown away by. The second time we got buffalo wings. I can't remember what my husband got, but I got the chicken and avocado sandwich without a bun. Again, so-so meal but I think the wings were good. Today we came for dinner and we got buffalo wings once again. They were good, but the skin kind of weirded me out. I once again ordered the wrong thing and tried the new bistro salad. It was a great concept, but the pears were not fresh (they were canned) and the dressing really tasted bad. It's my fault since I did not ask for it on the side. My husband got the special rib eye and he liked it, but did say it was over cooked in some areas. I think I'm finally done after three separate visits. If you are looking for a place to watch a game, have some apps, and drink a beer, then this is definitely your place. If you just want a nice dinner, I would say to look elsewhere.

"The worlds greatest burger" not even close.. It is a good burger but, after traveling the country looking for the best burger West End's burger would not make the top 100. It is a tasty burger but just not the best.
(3)Dawn R.
Sports bar with delicious food....great combination! Staff was super friendly, beer was good and cold, and the food was fantastic. I opted for the berry/spinach salad, while my friend got a burger and we were both more than satisfied with our choices. On the way out, there was a gentleman standing by the door who struck up a conversation, encouraging me to come back, saying it was the "Cheers of Annapolis". With props like that, how can I NOT go back?
(4)Casey Q.
Stopped in for a cocktail and takeout when in Annapolis for a Navy football game. Very friendly staff, pretty wide menu options. Good value for the money. Only quibble: we ordered one sandwich without cheese, and discovered when we got back to our hotel with our order that the cheese WAS on the sandwich. Too much effort to suit up and drive back to the restaurant. Word to the wise - check a to-go order before leaving! Noise level = very high. Not great for conversation, but likely great for sports viewing.

Went for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Nice waiter, but slow, as in give us check, pick up check, return check. Not busy in the least. So we both order Angus burgers. I asked if kitchen was good at cooking as requested and he assured us so. We ordered both burgers med. rare and they came out well done! Why ask me how I want it when you make it however you want in the end? Most places do same thing. I would have sent back, but we had a 3pm show to catch. Taste was good and it was not dry which helped. I would not return. Too many other places to choose from in the area.
(3)John P.
For a bar, with bar food, I think they do a great job. I usually stick to the apps and sandwiches and have never been let down. Best wings in town IMO and lots of other well thought selections. Happy hour specials cannot be beat! Half off apps and drink specials daily from like 3-6:30! Been coming here for years and will continue to do so
(4)Cardy M.
Came here on our way to BWI. me had a crab cake sandwiches and their best burger. All the food was good and there was ample space and TVs to watch the game.

I want to lead off by saying the food here was 4 star, but the service is a 2 for sure. Also I think the name West End Grill is misleading. It's more of a sports bar, which is totally fine, but I did expect something different based on the name. We arrived and sat ourselves in the bar area. We were approached a few minutes later by a blonde server in a Capitals jersey, who did not provide her name, but did provide menus and take our drink order. She returned with our drinks and we placed an appetizer order and our entree orders. At this time I told her we had purchased the yelp deal $10 for $15 worth of food. She said no problem she would get the code at the end of our meal. This is apparently one of those places where they don't write down your order and unfortunately our server did not have the skill set to remember our order, hence the 2 stars. We ordered the crab dip; however, our server brought out the Maryland nachos instead. We pointed out her error and a few minutes later she returned with what we had actually ordered. No biggie. She then brought my fiance out the Greco-Roman Caesar salad he had ordered requesting no tomatoes or olives. Of course it had both tomatoes and olives, which he just picked off because at this point the bar was getting busy and our server less available. Our meals were then brought out by an expediter. My fiance ordered wings with extra bleu cheese and I ordered the Cuban sandwich with a side salad instead of fries. Wait for it........ranch dressing with the wings and fries with the sandwich. Since the expediter did the drop and run we were unable to bring this to his attention so we tried in vain for about ten minutes to locate our server. Food was now cold so we gave up and just ate our meal. My fiance is REALLY picky about wings and was thrilled with the buffalo and Thai chili options and my Cuban sandwich was fabulous! About 15 minutes after we completed our meal the server came back to see if we were done and then quickly ran off to get our check before I could remind her about the yelp deal, which of course she had not remembered on her own. She came back with the check and gave her the code at which point she had to go back and get help to fix the check. Ten minutes later we had the corrected check and she had a $5 tip on a $55 bill, which reflected the level of service. If you choose to roll the dice on the service here I would definitely recommend the yelp deal.

First time there......first date..... Average atmosphere...... somewhat ok beer list for craft beer lovers...... but the bartender was very attentive and even produced a beer list. When I wasn't crazy over an IPA on tap.....He said, "Let me see if we have any Golden Monkey" ...... I was thrilled!! My favorite!! We had a happy hour, half~priced app........ shrimp..... very large...fresh..... nice compliment to the beer and conversation....

Very friendly place - went here twice while on a short business trip to the area. Best part - great wings selection, and they are actually awesome wings. The Thai are the best as determined by the scientific 2 person, 2 evening test by my colleague and I. Sadly they ran out of the "worlds best burger" the first day that we came in (and that was one of the main reasons I picked the place), and told us on the second day that they are discontinuing it all together. The rest of the food was also quite good - but I wouldn't order their "not world's best" burger. Its not quite good enough - especially when compared to the rest of the food there.

Excellent food in a sports bar. The crab cakes were fantastic, the side vegetables perfectly seasoned, with tasty homemade potato chips. My husband had surf and turf and said both the steak and crab cake were perfection. The asparagus was not an afterthought, it was perfect as well. Somebody in the kitchen really cares about what they serve. Service was great.

This is definitely a sports bar but the food is much better than typical sports bar fair. Went on a Friday night with a friend who is fond of the place. It's kind of half sports bar half restaurant with cozy booths and tables. You would only know its a sports bar because of the noise level and TVs everywhere. There was a Caps game on, hence the noise. However sat in a comfy booth and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We started off with the hoe cakes which are stuffed cornmeal pancakes. I don't know about "stuffed to the gills" but definitely tasty. The lemon butter drizzle is delicious and a little heavier pour would only be a plus. The shrimp and grits are fantastic! Nice size shrimp that are perfectly grilled. The white wine and butter sauce that is poured over the grits is so good I was looking for a spoon to slurp it up! The margarita haddock was equally as good although the fish was a tad bit dry. But a bite with the sliced tomato and balsamic vinaigrette were the perfect complement. The parmesan risotto was perfectly cooked. Subtle parm flavor and just the right amount of bite. So good! Definitely a great spot for upscale type food in a casual environment. I can't wait to go back and try the bar food. i.e. wings and burgers :)

Good food, beer and very reasonable prices. Thumbs up in my book!

Usually not bad, but ATROCIOUS for carryout. Be sure to check your order, lest you end up with half a meal. And don't try to call and ask to rectify the issue, because the ditzbomb answering the phone will make up how many staff are present, and it won't match what you saw 5 minutes earlier. I was looking for a nice place to have a semi-fancy dinner on New Years Eve that also had tvs so my husband could still watch his football game (lucky him). In the past we have gone to more fancy restaurants on New Years Eve and have been severely disappointed by the quality of the food and the service. West End Grill surpassed my expectations and the food and service were both fabulous. We started with the crab dip and scallops on puff pastry with a creamy lime sauce and mango. The dip was incredibly creamy with lots of crab and my husband said it was the best crab dip he has ever had. The scallops were big and had a lovely grilled flavor and the lime sauce was heavenly. For our entrees we had the crabcake sandwich with the house salad (artichokes and grilled red peppers) and the Fort Severn rockfish which came with a sherry cream sauce with a cornbread cake and crab. Both were delicious and fresh. To finish it off, we had the chocolate terrine with a delicious macaroon and the largest cups of coffee you have ever seen. They also have some inventive cocktails at reasonable prices. All in all, I am glad we ventured from the waterfront and discovered this restaurant.
(5)Anne K.
I can't say enough good things about West End Grill. Staff as friendly, service is great and food is delicious and always consistent. Best MD crab soup and wings in town. This place is a hidden gem in Annapolis. I've never had a bad meal here.

You couldn't pay me to step foot in this joint again. Never in my life have I, nor my date encountered such palatable and blatant racism by the bartender/ server who apparently noticed and served everyone else but blatantly ignored our table. I had to ask other servers for basics and break my neck to get him to look our way after at least 10 plus attempts. Horrific and down right rude. I wouldn't feed my dog here. Sad, I had hoped to find a nice sports bar, but apparently the server a dark haired gentleman who was in his own world, prefers to cater to a certain crowd, my taste don't include ignorant, sub par, lackluster nor, biased fare.
(1)E R.
Love this restaurant. They have a separate fryer for gluten free food (I have severe Celiac and can rarely eat out), their tater tots are to die for. The Long Island ice tea is delectable, too
(5)Nelissa O.
Yummy food with good proportion size. Great atmosphere. Awesome place to watch sports. Try the chicken bruschetta dish - mmmmm it's my favorite! Great back room if you have a special occasion.
(5)Wes S.
Possibly the best SELECTION of wings in Annapolis. And while the buffalo sauce is tasty, it seems like the sauce went into the wings and they heated them up. Sure, that's an okay way to make them, but it doesn't stand up to other wings. Other notes: -Crab soup was pretty good, nothing special though. -Service was attentive, although the place was not very full. -Shuffle board pit! Booyah.

West End Grill, on the outside, is a bit underwhelming. I've driven by dozens of times and noted that they have a burger special, but each time I thought "Look at the place. How good could it REALLY be?" It wasn't until the wife decided that she wanted seafood that I saw it has pretty decent reviews on Yelp, so away we went. West End Grill, on the inside, is also a bit underwhelming. There was a smell of stale beer in the air and the hostess stand was empty when we walked in. After waiting around a bit, a man came by and somewhat brusquely asked where we wanted to sit. "Booth," we told him. We sat down at a table with a thumb-sized hole in the wall next to it. Honestly, by this point I wasn't impressed. However, when our server arrived, he couldn't have been more pleasant. He made a couple jokes, recommended a beer (Magic Hat No. 9, if you were wondering, which was $3.50 during happy hour. And yes, it was delicious), and reassured us that we were ordering good dishes. We started off having the Peruvian shrimp with chorizo. It was served on what I believe was a bed of fried cheddar grits and topped with some sort of green sauce. All I know is that it was amazing. The chorizo tasted more of middle eastern spices than Latin, but I'll cut it some slack since it tasted great regardless. The wife ordered a sort of pasta in a pink sauce with chicken and sausage. Now is where I want to point out that we went here because she wanted seafood and she didn't even order any! I guess women DO reserve the right to change their mind at any time. The pasta itself was just okay. She liked it, so that's all that matters, but I feel that it was something I could have made at home. The pasta was probably just store bought. I, on the other hand, ordered the rockfish served on top of a cheddar grit cake and a cream sauce with bacon and lump crab. Two words: holy crap! It was so wonderful. I actually ate beyond my "I'm too full" point. When the server came back, he looked surprised. "I guess you liked it, then," he said. Yes, I did. So much so, that I didn't save room for dessert, which is a shame because they had a seasonal pumpkin dessert that we wanted to try. They can improve on their first impression. They can improve on the slight hole in the wall (literally) feel they have. But the food, and at such a decent price, is more than I had hoped for. I'm looking forward to coming back. And for some more Magic Hat No. 9.

Yelpers...you didn't let me down. We were traveling home from Ocean City and looking for a place for dinner....so glad we stopped here. From the outside it is nothing special and even when we walked it...very bar type place. We had our in-laws and young daughter with us...but we ventured in anyway. We started off with the Marylnd Nachos...a great yummy start. For dinner...bulgogi (my dad served in Korea when I was young so I grew up eating this!) best I have had, besides my mom's. Also for dinner...Bruschetta Chicken.....loved it! All in all...we will be back next year when heading home from OC!

One of the best sports bars in Annapolis. Great place to both catch a game or grab dinner (or both!)....Bartenders are friendly and TV maintenance is unbeatable.....there is never a time when sports are not on the TV.... The food is above par for a sports bar--favorites include the French Onion Soup, Chicken Chesapeake, Turkey Ruben, and Franco-Irish Dip. The wings are also tasty. During games, they have good beer specials--usually on domestics. Definitely recommended to watch a game or grab a bite any time of the year!

Every time I visit my Grandma in Annapolis, I make sure to take her here. We randomly stumbled upon it one day a couple of years ago and its been a tradition ever since. Last time, we started off with the crab dip and it was a hit! It was gone before I could blink an eye. The baguette was so crispy and delicious. The crab dip was so good that my boyfriend and Grandma both couldn't get enough, so they ordered the Chesapeake Chicken sandwiches (which are smothered in crab dip). They weren't very happy with their choices. I got the French Dip and it was really good. The server was friendly and refilled my coffee regularly. We wanted to get dessert, but we were way too stuffed to even try. Overall, a great experience last time just as always. I can't wait to go back because there's so much more on the menu that I'd love to try!

I'd give this place two stars for restaurant experience, a 4 star for trivia. I've got mixed feelings about this place. I've been there more than 10 times because I go to their weekly trivia nights (thoughts on this below) and I like to try new foods, so I feel like I've tried most of their menu. Some of their offerings are inventive, which I appreciate, but they are not very successful, so the inventiveness does not pay off. Plus, the prices are really expensive. I don't eat huge meals, but I've ordered entrees here and still remained hungry. But there are some good dishes. Here are some of my specific thoughts: Biggest pro: They've got tater tots! Crispy & fresh! Yum! Biggest con: The price. And pretty much everything else on the menu. Crab cornbread: $9 - and it is 2 muffins with not a visible piece of crab in sight - SO not worth it, so disappointing! Tater tots appetizer: Good, heaping plate of tots - covered with cheese and bacon. Yeah, pretty much a heart attack on a plate, but great for sharing! Bulgogi: ~$12? I was so excited to see this on the menu, but so, so disappointed with it. It was 5 dry, withered slivers of beef marinated on white rice with some teriyaki sauce and a small side of kim chee. Laughably bad. "World's Greatest Burger": $11 - My friend really likes these. Thai Mishu Salad: $12 - nice dressing but a ridiculously tiny piece of fish. Not really an entree salad. French Dip: Pretty good. Tuna sandwich (instead of burger): Ick! I asked for it well, and it was bloody. Seemed like it had been frozen to me. I love tuna burgers but I got this once and never again. Mixed drinks: Expensive and not that good. I like cocktails, but this is more of a beer place. I ordered a couple of different drinks - G&T, Old Fashioned, etc - and they always seemed light on the alcohol and not mixed well. I would never come back for the food...but if I wanted a (non-exotic) beer and a TV to watch a sporting event, this would be the place to go. As for TRIVA.... The trivia night (Wednesdays 8 pm) are run by the Charm City Trivia syndicate. It involves 6 three question rounds with guessing a percentage/number toss up question for free rounds of shots between each three question set. Also a Jeopardy-style, risk-your-points final and a half-time question. Runs pretty swiftly, usually out by 10 pm, but plays really loud music between questions so it's hard to chat with your group. Questions are challenging and all over the place, but it does feel a bit sports-heavy. When I asked the MC about it, he said that Charm City Trivia mostly does games in sports bars, hence the sports questions. There are $$ prizes for 1st and 2nd - I think $30 and $20 (though this might be wrong) - and some beer logo prize for 3rd. They also participate in the Charm City tournament, where you can go on to a different location for the Finals.

I used yelp to help find something good close to me and it delivered. The food was excellent. I wanted to try so many things. I settled on the Maryland Style Nachos as one thing. These where the bomb. As a starter or side, the homemade chip with crab dip and corn were addicting. As for my other item I got their hottest wings called Otis wings. I was a good dry rub, very hot but not uncomfortable hot. Wings where cooked well. Good stuff. Oh am I had a house salad that featured artichoke hearts and their own dressing. It was a really good salad. Great place. Go there.

This was just okay - everyone agreed that the burgers, apps, salads and soups that we ordered were fine but not special. The service as great, on the other hand. With all of the great places to eat around Annapolis, I don't know if I would go back to this one...just not memorable.

Great food. The cream of crab soup was fantastic. Fair pricing

Great place with good food. Wife got the turkey burger and I got the chicken club. Both were delicious. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Traffic into and out of was a real pain in the ass. We will go back if the opportunity presents itself.
(4)Dawn R.

Met some friends there from out of town. Nice place, service is good. I had the Angus Burger with Fries and a few Corona's. Seating is more than adequate, it is in a good location and laid out nice. Food was outstanding. Not a complaint. Highly recommended.

Great food.
(5)Silvia C.

(5)J B.
(5)Kat M.

Newly updated menu has many new favs! Boom Boom shrimp is almost required every visit! Perfectly crispy and spicy and lots of it. The Reuben Eggrolls are a great and original treat, too.
(5)Pete Z.
Needed dinner late night, wanted something besides pizza or bar food. Found this place still serving.. Chilled atmosphere, shrimp in grits was excellent!
(5)Sara R.

(5)Morris S.
Solid crab soup. Plump well cooked crabcake. Honest, hon, what the hell else do you want? O yeah, draft flying dog and os on the telly.
(4)Kiz S.
(1)Erin R.

(4)Shannon B.

(5)Patsy C.
(3)Barb B.
(4)John P.
(5)M. U.
(1)Scott M.
(3)Koren L.
We will definitely be coming back
(4)Gary H.

Go there.

This is one of our go-to places. My husband would probably give it five stars, but I don't always like it as much as him. For sports fans, it is a great bar. They do have very good bar food! They also have a dessert in the fall "Pumpkin Goo Cake" that I love.
